Weird....Homewood Suites by Hilton Jacksonville? It's called the Hilton Garden Inn I thought??? Anyway it's average to me. Location is good for walking to the river. Look out for the bar across the street "Endo Exo"!!!! It's swingers night on Saturday. Real shady stuff. The reel deal. The place is real Loud so if you have a room facing the bar across the street....sorry for you. Also there are a lot of swingers staying at the hotel that night so expect a lot of banging on the walls if ya know what i mean.

3/4/13. Trains Trains and more trains!! It is 12:07am on Mon night and hopefully this is the LAST train for the night!!! The train noise / whistle is loud and you WILL notice it, especially if you are a light sleeper. The hotel itself is nice, big and comfortable clean room and gets 4 stars. 1 star for the train noise at midnight!!

I love Homewood Suites. When you have a party of more than four, you need the extra space and amenities; Homewood delivers on all fronts! Not only are there sufficient space, but having breakfast included in the mornings makes this place of great value. You don't go here for luxury, that's what the standard Hiltons are for; rather, you come here for comfort, convenience, and value! This particular hotel was clean and very reasonable. There are numerous special that run, but you have to go to Hilton.com in order to get them. Don't rely on what is published on Orbitz or the like. This hotel also has a nice lounge complete with a pool table and fire place (when it's colder). Unlike most Homewoods, you have to pay for parking here, but not a deal breaker. Will stay here again when in Jacksonville!

This looks to be a new Homewood Suites built adjacent to a Hilton Garden Inn. I love this setup because you have the option of staying in the homey feel and large rooms associated with the Suites, as well as the free dinner (and I understand beer as well) and breakfast, while maintaining the option of going to the Garden Inn section for their bar/restaurant.
The rooms are modern, large and well appointed complete with a 42" flat screen LCD TV with HD resolution. The beds are very comfy with tons of pillows. The room came with a kitchen, so you have the option of making your own food as well. The room was spotless.
If you don't want to be stuck in the room, they have a nice gym, pool as well as a pool table. Pretty cool. Also a large 55" HDTV is in the main room, where they serve dinner and breakfast and is perfect to watch a NFL game or what have you.
Service here is very responsive and polite. The only drawback is the parking fee of $9. However, at least your car is in a gated garage that is only accessible to hotel guests.
Would definitely stay here again!

Of the Homewood Suites I've stayed in, the rooms here seem to be the smallest. Instead of having a door to separate the bedroom, the bed is in another portion of the room. Furniture seems slightly crowded, as the kitchenette table is RIGHT next to the kitchen. There is still a couch and desk, but it just seems a bit crowded when you first walk into the room.
Nonetheless, the bed is comfortable, and the room is clean. There is a shower stall as opposed to a bathtub. Like other Homewood Suites, you have a kitchenette (stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, etc.), including a couple of electric coils for cooking.
The free food is pretty decent. In the evening, I had a deli sandwich (choices of various meats, cheeses, and breads), chips (several Mrs Vickie's brand chip bags to choose from), and condiments (including pickles). There was also a salad bar and wine set in ice buckets for self-pouring. I would definitely stay here again!

Well it's got pros & cons. Here goes:
TRAINS! Holy crap they are loud and they blow by all day and all night. I live downtown back home, so I'm used to sirens and train whistles, but this is a little different because the train tracks are two blocks away. You cannot avoid them. They are loud as hell. My advice is get some wine.
Rude front desk. Check in was awful. I'm a HH Diamond member. I don't expect to be treated any differently than anyone else, but damn. They acted like I was a pain in their ass just for being there.
No Lodgenet (pay per view movies and games).
The bar closes really early (10:00p).
Great view of downtown Jacksonville, especially from the eighth floor balcony.
Comfy clean, new rooms with lots of space.
Very friendly bell staff.
More than one premium channel (HBO, HBO2, HBO Signature, etc.)
It's close to several nice restaurants like BB's.
It's 5 minutes to downtown Jacksonville (proper). Straight shot over I-95 North.
They have a pool table in the breakfast area.
Free beer and appetizers Monday - Thursday 5:30 - 7:30p.
There is a local dive bar directly across the street that's open until 2:00a. When the hotel bar closes at 10:00, everyone just walks over there and continues the night.

After staying in a Homewood Suites in Atlanta, when my amazing sister in law told us she was coming down to Jax with the kiddos, I suggested this place to her.
I knew it was a fairly new building and had a few former bosses stay at the Hilton next door.
Which, with that said, they are right together, just make sure you go in the correct door. :)
Full disclaimer, I did not stay here, but we did hang out quite a bit in the room and dining area.
Tip: If you are visiting guests, drive on around to the left of the parking garage to the back of the hotel. There aren't a ton of parking spots, but they are free.
The room was nice and cozy. I like rooms with the suite set-up, especially if you have been on a long road trip and like to bring your own snacks. The kids loved the pool too.
The buffet breakfast was of your average buffet variety, nothing fancy but not bad.
And one last tip.... beer drinkers! If you are traveling into Jax, Aaradwolf brewery is within walking distance.
