LOVED IT!!  The staff was efficient and knowledgeable. The rooms were very nice and super clean. We paid a great rate compared to others in the area. I loved the separate living room, very spacious for a hotel room. They even had a delicious hot breakfast in the morning.  I would absolutely stay ag

Super friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and so close to the airport!

They even set out the breakfast bar early for us as we waited for the free shuttle to take us to the airport.

I went to this establishment early in the day 10am to check in and they had no clean rooms, i advised the Front Desk agent that I would not be able to return until after a wedding at 11pm and inquired if that hotel was at a sell out status. She confirmed they were overbooked but assured me I would have a room when I arrived at 11pm.
When I called at 10pm I was advised that my room had been sold to someone else and that I would be 'walked to a Hilton'. It was late at night and I was an hour away from the hotel in an unfamiliar place and did not feel comfortable with the option they gave me. The night audit lady was very nice but her hands were tied. It was clear I was walked as I had a cheaper internet rate- regardless of the fact that I had been told to my face earlier in the day that a room would be secured for me. When I called the next week to discuss the situation with the Manager on Duty Tiffany, she offered little condolences and just sent me to Kayak.com to deal. Nothing was ever offered for my troubles or even apologize for the inconvenience I was faced with.

We arrived to the hotel late after a long day of traveling to find that the room we had reserved wasn't available because they had significantly overbooked the rooms. Instead of our guaranteed double room, 5 of us slept in a single. we were extremely disturbed to discover hair in the bed. Breakfast the next morning was additionally disappointing. The food was scarce, the staff was unfriendly at best and the condition of the breakfast area would have in no way met any sort of health regulations. We have always been pleased with the Hyatt Place's we've stayed at in the past however after this experience we will not stay at a Hyatt Place again.

Written a while back, so some information may be a bit dated...

The Hyatt Place makes me feel old. While the hotel is new - or at least looks new - it really isn't my cup of tea. And I don't even drink tea (*sweet tea doesn't count here, you know - all that sugar makes it something other than tea).

While checking in, it has a good feel to it. And as you arrive at the room, it looks very modern indeed (look at their web site to see - it's very accurate in representation). The room is full of rich colors, which is soothing.

Normally I'm a fan of large television sets, but when your bed is just a couple feet away? Way too large. The comfy corner (or whatever they call it)? Nice idea - that would be a better placement for such a huge television set, not at the foot of your bed.

The pool is in the middle of the parking lot - as it often is - but there are no trees of any kind, and it's just not comforting to be out there. Some landscaping would do wonders. While there is a breakfast buffet of sorts, if you really want anything substantial, you have to order it (at a cost). This is a cool concept, and I can understand the hotel's motivation, I don't care for it.

For the business traveler, I totally get it. For the family? I don't think we'll be staying here again.

Very conflicted as to how to rate our stay. Hotel is a newer hotel in the airport area, rooms large, clean and comfortable. But we had a very bad experience and sorry to say the staff handled it very poorly. Surprising that would happen as it seemed to be hotel management school 101 type of stuff.

We arrived on schedule at 11PM Sunday night and got to the hotel just before midnight. the lobby was much busier than one would expect as they had a backup at the front desk. After 20 minutes we began check in. We had reserved our room over a month earlier through booking.com at a rate of $99. the man checking us in informed that he had no reservation for us. My wife produced the email confirmation and they still said, "sorry we have no record of this". It was a bit comedic. we have the reservation but they say sorry, nothing in our system. So after 5 minutes of this ridiculous midnight back of forth, I say, ok, well if you have rooms just check us in now and give us the rate on the confirm we have. That is when the man said let me have someone help you and brought over a woman (not a manager, just another staff). she said, "sorry we cant give you this rate because we don't have the reservation in our system". I said that was a surprise since this is a Hyatt and we have the confirm. she then says, "well you booked on booking.com and they are the worst and sometimes they forget to send us the reservation which is what likely happened here". She then goes on "next time don't book with them and you wont have this problem". so I say cant you just give us the rate and check us in? she says "sorry, I can not, the best rate I can give you is $129 right now and maybe you can try to talk with a manager tomorrow morning and see if you can get it reduced". Wow!!!! amazing. so we just couldn't take it anymore and took the room for $129. she then informed us that we would have to wait to check in because (mind you it is 12:15 in the morning by now and we have been in the lobby 30 minutes) "the room key system is broken since Wednesday and the guy that fixes it is from Atlanta and he cant get here because of the snow so we have to bring you up to let you in". Wow, the only guy that can fix room key system is in Atlanta and it has been broken five days!!! so she finally takes us up and we find the clock is beeping low battery and need a screwdriver to take out battery so I go down to lobby and get scissor so I can cut the plastic tie to get the clock away from the wall and put it in the fridge so I don't disturb other guests.

Other than the above the stay was fine. the morning staff works their butts off but are understaffed which is why the breakfast is always a zoo.

Hyatt Place has been our first choice in hotels for years regardless of where we were. Not once, until now, have we ever been disappointed. I must first say that the staff at this hotel was above a five star rating. Very nice, respectful, and extremely accommodating. The pitfall was the room we stayed in. Immediately we were hit with an odor that resembled previous water damage or mildew of some sort. The sofa was stained and the layout was NOT what we were used to of a Hyatt Place. We did not complain because we had requested a ground floor due to our children and didn't want to be more of a burden. The breakfast for free was new to us and nice. Will we go back to this location? Eh......not too sure. It is convenient and close to a great number of restaurants and shopping.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am in customer service, and no effort was made to correct our ruined weekend. My boyfriend and I planned a weekend away to see the USA men's soccer team, made a reservation one month in advance for the Hyatt riverside downtown. Our reservation was cancelled after we made it, without any notification. So we get there the weekend of, and everything is booked solid and we have no place to stay, and no amends were made. We were sent to the Hyatt by the airport, without securing a room for us. Luckily the airport hotel had a room, but made no effort to make up for the cancelled room and ruined weekend. Will probably never stay at a Hyatt in jacksonville again.

l accidently left my mp3 player here on a two night stay.  I was back at this hotel a few days later on an overnight stay and asked if by chance anyone had turned one in. It was. I left it in the room. Great rooms and great staff. I wouldn't stay anywhere else while here.

The room was clean and big, there's a nice little fitness room and a pool. But the service was just horrible!

The staff is friendly and helpful and you can tell that they work very hard but they really don't have things under control. At all.

There were several incidents, one were when we wanted a drink at the bar. The staff looked really confused and had to find some missing keys in order to get the liquor. They said they didn't have a drink card so I decided to order one of the "safer" drinks, a gin tonic. They didn't have any tonic water. So we ordered two other drinks that were made with some bought mixer and alcohol. My mojito were awful. It tasted like old soda or some kind of weird margarita and there were hardly any booze in it. We had to tell the "bartender" which kind of alcohol she had to use for the drinks because she didn't know.

When we asked for some food from the 24/7 menu we were told that we had to wait for someone who was currently changing the sheets to come and make it. After they started on my spinach and artichoke flatbread it took more than 30 minutes to get it and when it arrived it looked nothing like the meal on the picture. Furthermore several of the ingredients described on the menu were not to be found on my flatbread: no basil pesto, no mushrooms,  but they did put onion on it which were not on the list of ingredients. When  i got the meal,  I asked about the pesto and she told me it was on there under all the cheese (there were a lot of cheese on that flatbread), but I eventually - and to my big regret - found that there were no pesto on there whatsoever. It might sound stupid to get hung up over some pesto but the pesto was the reason I ordered the thing from the beginning...

While at the bar another lady ordered a tea and she was asked if she wanted water and everything or just the tea bag. Jeez!

The room service came to our room even though we had the "do not disturb" sign on the door.

All in all the whole experience were kind of embarrassing for Hyatt. I have been many places from cheap places in Bali to upscale hotels in Miami and I have never experienced anything like this before. I don't think it's the employees' fault. The managers or whoever runs this place just really REALLY need to train their staff much better. What a bummer for our last night in Florida.

Clean, well appointed hotel with plenty of space and in room refrigerator.  Every Hyatt Place I have  visited smells exactly the same, and it is quite lovely.

Feels like home wherever I happen to be.  I especially love the divided work / sitting area that is separated from the sleeping area.

Continental breakfast (cold breakfast) of juice, cold cereal, yogurt and fruit is complimentary.  If you would like a hot breakfast that will cost extra.

The value is really exceptional at Hyatt Place. I'm not sure where you can go to get the value, service, and space offered here.

Checked in this week on a work trip, still very clean, attentive staff.  It' rained here yesterday and muggy and I appreciate the somewhat quiet, efficient air conditioning system.  I like that almost everywhere I look there's a power outlet for technology and technology hookups to the large screen TV.   I still like the fact that I can get food and dessert, 24x7.  And it's not junky, put together hotel food either.   I think there may be liquor laws that prevent serving liquor in the early hours so Im not sure about liquor 24x7.

Tip:   I like the free shuttle to nearby malls and airport.  And for all you Waffle House Ho's there's one down the block, LOL

We stayed at this hotel the night before our cruise out of Jacksonville. The shuttle was fast and in time picking us up at the airport. It was free which makes it even better. We got to the hotel to check in and check in was great. They had a customer who didn't speak English and she kept trying to interrupt our check in but the employee did a great job of telling her wait her turn. The shuttle took us to dinner and then to the drug store! All free. Breakfast was pretty good for a free breakfast. The staff was very nice. I just wish the shuttle would have taken us to the cruise terminal because the company the hotel recommends is horrible.

Despite some previous reviews the staff was courteous.  However both the check in and check out were very slow.  Also I was surprised that despite advertising express checkout, there was no receipt under the door like99% of other hotels.

Sadly no Bible in the room either.

Rooms were very nice and spacious for a hundred dollars range hotel.

Complimentary breakfast and internet are also a plus as is the proximity to eateries

Despite some previous reviews the entire staff that I have encountered has been was VERY courteous with OUTSTANDING customer service. First off this is not the norm but I'm in town for a funeral...my flight landed at 9:30am got to the hotel a little after 1030am and even thought they were sold out the night before...the front desk managers Chris Steele and Wendy Vargas were able to check me in for the earliest room that was cleaned after about 30 minutes.

They both went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out with a room. Again this is not the norm and checkin is at 3pm. Wendy and Chris was amazing and a GREAT addition to the Hyatt family.

Not sure why someone mentioned there was not a Bible in the room...My room has a Bible (you can look at my pics). Room was nice, clean, smelled very fresh, and very spacious with room refrigerator.

Complimentary breakfast and free WiFi internet are also a plus as is the proximity to eateries.

The free shuttle can take you around the nearby mall, drug store, or restaurants for free if time permits and they are no airport runs.

I like that almost everywhere I look there's a power outlet for a technie  like myself LOL and technology hookups to the large screen TV, even HDMI hookup.  The TV stand swivels so you can sit on the bed or on the sofa and watch TV.

Tip:   I like the free shuttle to nearby mall, restaurants and airport.
