Still a decent hotel. They get an extra star because they actually acknowledged my LQ "Elite" status. Manager kind of made a deal about it when I checked in, but in retrospect, I do appreciate it because I stay in a ton of LQ inns, many cost a lot more, and rarely do they thank me for my repeated patronage. So extra gold star for you for making me feel just a little special!

The signs to find this place did suck as the other reviewer mentioned. The room is clean though with new carpet because it smells newly refurbished. Room is close to the city being only 10 miles out and room is also close to several places to eat right around it. It is kind of silly how they put a Laquinta, Super 8 and Country Inn and Suites in the same parking lot though.

Dirty. We checked in and there were pubic hairs in the bath tub and on the floor. The top bed spread sheet had some crusty brown stuff on it. We decided to just take it off. We put it with our dirty towels to be collected but the maid just put it back on the bed! So we called the front for a new one, it took them 2 hours to bring another one that had a bunch of little black hairs all over it. Our third day they just didn't come clean our room. Called the front and they said they had no idea why they didn't come. Didn't offer to send anyone just told us we could come get new towels. I just felt so dirty staying in this place. The front desk guy that helped us was apologetic and tried to be helpful but I highly recommend anywhere else.

Now that I have gotten your attention let me expand on that. We have traveled all over the East coast and we stay at La Quinta because of their dog friendly hotels, cleanliness, free breakfast, and quality for the price. We've stayed at over a dozen and this one was by far the worst of them all.
The place wasn't in the best of neighborhoods and doors were directly outside with no indoor hallways. We felt a little unsafe here but we were tired and didn't want to cancel out reservation to find another place last minute. We get in and not only does it reek of smoke, but they didn't give us enough toilet paper. After a long drive I needed to go to the bathroom and headed their first and there was poop on the toilet seat!!!!! Not bowel, but seat. Desperate to use the restroom I cleaned it up and uses antibacterial wipes all over that seat. While in there I noticed some mysterious hot pink stain on the towels. It could have been lipstick or gloss but what it was was evidence that the cleaning lady did not do her job well! Went to front desk to ask for clean towels and the poor night guy apologizes profusely as of this happens a lot. We settled in to find a mysterious brown spot/stain on the duvet! I have no idea if it was a bodily fluid or chocolate or some other brown fluid but again aren't these supposed to be hanged between guests along with towels?!!! Not happy about this at all.
At about 3am to 4am the trash dump truck scared the living daylight a out of us by dropping the dumpster loudly on the ground. In a shady neighborhood this was quite terrifying.
Can't comment much on the food quality as we skipped it. Didn't trust how well prepared and up to health code it would be with all the "cleanliness" of the hotel room. Didn't want to risk it.
After this stay we got an email from la Quinta asking us to rate our stay and give feedback about it. We found this a little odd as we have never received this email from any of the other 12 or so that we have stayed at. We're guessing that corporate has gotten some complaints lately and/or is evaluating that place for a reason.
All in all, avoid this location at all costs.

Usually stay here several nights every year since we get a discount rate for a large group. Always have an okay experience but nothing I would rave about. Rooms don't have fridge, microwave, etc. all of that is located in the front office so you have to go up there if you need it. Stayed next to pool last time and several were out there drinking so I refused to allow my kids to go swimming while there. The room I was in had a spacious bathroom but only two small full size beds.

We have trouble traveling because of our very large dog. This la quinta was nice, clean and our dog had plenty of room to move around.
The king size bed was so nice and comfy! The reason why im not giving it 5 stars is the location is tricky! Blanding is a very busy street and the traffic was terrible. Plus the hotel is behind businesses and two other motels so at first we drove past it. Perhaps there should be a sign or something...

We stayed in this La Quinta in January 2015 to attend a funeral. I will never stay there again. We were locked out. When we got back to our room Sunday at 12:25 am we were locked out in the cold temperatures in 40s and was windy couldn't go inside the lobby still locked out rang the bell to let the clerk what happened she was too busy to come to the door and let us in after 7 minutes she finally did was very rude and unprofessional. The room was supposed to be nonsmoking but we could smell smoke the carpet was filthy and smelled bad. As I said I will not stay there again.

The room was not cleaned properly. There was an unpleasant smell. The bathroom floor and frig were filthy. I doubt anyone even looked in the frig, because the was a sandwich that someone forgot to take with them. We skipped the free breakfast!
On a positive note the AC was cold.

I have finally found a wonderful hotel for my parents when they come to town to visit that isn't too far from where I live. I've booked them at a couple of other hotels that really sucked and then I finally found this La Quinta.
They have a chihuahua they always travel with and often it's difficult to find a really good hotel that allows dogs at all. Most of the really nice hotels in Orange Park do not allow dogs... period. Trust me, I've called nearly every one of them and asked.
Not only does this La Quinta allows dogs, but they don't even charge a deposit for them. They allow dogs to stay for free. You just have to sign a form saying that if your dog tears anything up then you are liable for it. No problem. Especially considering my mom's chihuahua is a tiny, little 4 pound thing.
Check in was a breeze. The lobby was nice and clean. The employees were so friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
The room was really nice. Not only did it look clean, but it smelled clean. That's always a good thing.
The bathroom was larger than I expected. Plenty of room for two people to move around in at the same time.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the sheets and pillows had a nice, fresh smell to them. I stayed with them one the nights they were here and I slept very, very well.
Flatscreens are in the room and they are a nice, decent size with a good picture.
There are also small refrigerators and microwaves in all of the rooms.
Free Wifi is included. I used it with my iPad and it runs at a nice, smooth speed.
A continental breakfast is provided at no charge. They have the usual like fruit, pastries, oatmeal, toast, bagels, various juices, and coffee.
The price per night is also very affordable. They paid around $55 per night.
This La Quinta is located just off of 295 at the Orange Park/Blanding exit. It can be a bit difficult to get to if you aren't familiar with the area, but it is located directly behind the Denny's. So, just look for Denny's as soon as you get off 295 and you'll find it with no problems.
There are plenty of fast food restaurants and chain restaurants like Olive Garden, Longhorn, Carrabbas, etc. in the area. The Orange Park Mall is also located less than a mile from this hotel.
In the future, when my parents visit, this will definitely be the hotel where I make them reservations.
