This charming boutique hotel is comfortable, perfectly located, clean and well run. The pool area offers a little oasis off the bustle of touristy streets with evening complimentary Happy Hour and morning breakfasts for guests.

We had a very nice stay here. It's just far enough from the noise on Duval but close enough to walk wherever you need to go.

We decided to stay at almond tree in part because of the reviews, and we were not disappointed! While we initially found it a bit pricey ( we are not world travelers),  I actually left feeling like it was worth every penny! Very close (30 secs) from Duval street but miles away in a sense.... Quiet (small) pool area where we relaxed during the day and after we hit back from the nightlife ... Owners on site and extremely nice, hard working... With a great attention to detail. Room (king suite) was super clean, modern and comfy...with a small balcony leading directly to the pool! (Which did have limited seating... (But with key west as tightly packed as it is, this was a slice of paradise) we will definitely return to the almond tree on our next key west adventure!

This will now be our preferred hotel when we visit Key West. The hotel room is super big and nice and the pool, balconies, and patio areas are such cool places to hang out. The breakfast is yummy and the happy hour is totally worth staying in for. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the parking is very convenient. The price may seem high to you, but for key west it is reasonable and honestly worth every penny!

    Oh yeah...and the LOCATION...so great!

Completely recommend Almond Tree...even to the pickiest person!

Really 4-1/2 stars. This is a great little hotel!

Stayed here in June for our first time in Key West (long weekend getaway for my wife and I) after finding it online. We usually stay at Marriott properties, but KW locations are NOT in the right part of town (busy commercial strip far from Duval and other KW attractions). So we bit the bullet and gave up points-earning opportunities and chose the Almond Tree. We were so glad we did!

The location is perfect: on Truman just off Duval. No more than 15-minute walk to the farthest points (Mallory Square, KW Harbor). We didn't even rent bikes--just walked everywhere.

It is a very quiet property. Ample drink coupons for the daily Happy Hour, decent Continental breakfast (we're not breakfast eaters), very nice little pool and deck, friendly and attentive staff, and on-site parking for $8/day.

We stayed in a suite because that was the only room type available when we booked. The room was a good size, nicely furnished, and the bed very comfortable. It was a little pricey, but normal for KW standards. I cannot comment on any of the "standard" rooms.

If you're wondering where the half star went, it was because of the noisy and shaky ceiling fan in our room. We could not turn it to high for fear of being mangled if it decided to let loose in the night while we slept.

We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Key West!

Stayed one night on a last-minute recommendation, and glad we did.  Hotel has the feel of a B&B.  Staff was very friendly and helpful.  Enjoyed complimentary glass of wine and snacks before heading out to Duval St fun.  Bars/Mallory Sq is a bit of hike, but that helps keep this quaint/quiet location.

Stayed in small-ish queen room, but was very clean and comfortable.  Slept in too late to enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast, so can't comment there.

Was able to park most of the day we checked out, which was a great convenience.

Will definitely have this on the short list for Key West, now that we have experienced.

This place is great, we will be returning for sure. It was perfect for my fiance and I.

This small B&B style hotel was just what we needed for the weekend.  Conveniently located off Duvall Street (where the action is at).  The staff was extremely friendly, the room was clean..and it included an empty mini-fridge. (perfect for stocking with beer, purchased from the CVS next door.

No need to worry about parking.  They have a lot on sight, 7$ a day which is a great deal..if you know anything about parking in Key West. And you likely wont be driving anywhere.

The hotel is small, and quaint. It is covered in trees and beautiful flowers/foliage.  They have done a nice job mixing fountains, and rock sculptures into the landscape design, which adds to the peaceful pleasantness of it all.

They offer breakfast in the morning, and a happy hour in the evening, all around the pool.

**I would not bring children here.
**The water in the rooms (shower and sink) is very hard, and so it was hard to actually get clean, but when your sitting by the pool all day anyway...no one really cares.  (you might.)
**Since the hotel is small, so is the pool.  The seating is limited around the pool during the sunniest times.  But when you do get a chair, they are quite comfortable.

It was as if I was in a HGTV dream.  Like the reveal after in such a show, I was amazed at how sublime and serene the room was. Who would have thought WICKER furniture could make a room look so great? I also loved the little touches like the complimentary Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies and bottled water to the toiletries you ACTUALLY want to take home because they smell so good.

Most definitely a perfect hideaway tucked away in a very quiet part of town.

Just a note to those allergic or afraid of roaming cats: They lounge around the pool/ breakfast area and parking lot. Might be because the Hemingway house is nearby.

I could write a dissertation on how fantastic this hotel is, but I'l save you the time.  In short, it's more of a mini-resort experience than a hotel.  If you're thinking about visiting Key West, you have to stay here.  They have affordable rates on hotels.com .  Not sure why they are listed in the $$$ category, as it was not that expensive!

    Cheryl is the best too!

Got a great last minute rate on hotels.com .  Had to switch from a previous bad hotel experience.  Arrived a few mins after happy hour but the front desk lady rounded us up a drink anyway.  When she found it was birthday she gave me a full size box of chocolates.  The room was so chic and clean.  The whole place redeemed my birthday trip from our experience the day before.

This is a great place to stay in Key West! Not only is the location great (really close to Duvall but still quiet) but the owners are amazing! A lot of the guests staying are repeat visitors and a few have been "following" the owners for years! I can see why! They put out a great continental breakfast every morning and happy hour is great too!
Rooms are nicely decorated and while in the small side, they have everything you need. The pool tells the same story but the smaller size was never an issue. Everyone migrated there in late afternoon and it was  fun to chat with and get to know new people in a "no pressure" kind of way. Everyone was doing their own thing and enjoying the atmosphere at the Almond Tree.
Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed if you stay here. We would come back for sure!

Stayed here almost a whole week with the family and it was truly my most amazing thanksgiving week ever.  I don't even know what to say that other reviewers haven't, but I just wanted to chime in: amazing inn, family run, tons of perks, and terrific location!

    My favorite parts:
*rooms are huge and each have a couch/kitchenette area as well as porches w/ chairs
*great spa and pool area - they do a lot and it's beautiful with limited space
*great location near beaches and going out area on duval (we ended up getting scooters to get all around town more quickly than walking - bikes would be good too)
*daily breakfast and happy hour with decent variety (considering they're free!)
    *lotsa parking

Tip: quietest rooms are on the 2nd floor (all first floor rooms are quite close to the pool/walkway/laundry room)

Only downside: there's free wifi but it didn't quite reach our room at the end of the hall so I just generally checked email poolside.  Not so bad ;)

Perfect location and quiet. Nice breakfast and happy hour. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Extremely clean rooms with a modern chic twist. Little amenitieslike fruit, cookies and wine in the room make it nice. We parked the car and walked everywhere. Totally worth the $. We are coming back!

Nice rooms, great location, wonderful staff. Loved the happy hour with snacks and choice of beer or wine. Nicely tucked away so room was quiet, but close to Duval st and walking distance to everything. Very nicely decorated rooms (modern and updated) with great appliances (mini keurig, nice fridge, microwave). Treats in room upon arrival (milano cookies). Couldn't have asked for anything better. Would definitely stay here again!!

1/2 block off Duval; easy Fabulous staff, clean, lush property.  Rooms have been recently renovated and is just a great feeling when you open the hotel room door.  We stayed in the king suite and it was just beautiful.  Keruig in every room.  Continental breakfast and happy hour every day a plus.  Lush landscaping keeps this small hotel hidden.  We just loved it here and will definitely stay again.  Staff was excellent and very accommodating.

I don't know where to begin. In a nutshell (pun intended) - great location, clean, well furnished rooms and very hospitable staff.  My friends and I stayed at the Almond Tree Inn during a busy Memorial day weekend and were taken aback by how nice everything was.  To tip the scale even more in their favor, they offer a happy hour and complimentary breakfasts.  The staff was the friendliest, the pool was a great time, and the beds made that bad headache after a night on Duvall street slightly less miserable.  I have been recommending this place to anyone who will listen.

**If the Gods are on your side, you could run into one of the Inn's frequent flyers- his name is Gary and he will make your day. No- your trip.

This is the most beautiful small B&B hotel. It is a gem in the middle of the craziness of Key West.  It is only one block away from Duvall Street. You can walk to just about anywhere.   It has great parking.  There is a charge but it is worth it.    The rooms are very modern and new.  Everywhere you look there is such detail.  All the fixtures are high end.  Whoever the designer is should get an award for the design.  Even the dresser drawers are high end.  When you pull out the drawer, it goes back and closes. The bed is fantastic.....so comfortable!

When I booked the reservation, it asked if there were any special requests.  My husband and I are both gluten intolerant.  When we went to breakfast, they had gluten free bread for us.  All the people that work here are so pleasant.  You can tell they love their job.

If we ever came back to Key West we would definitely stay here again.

The best place I stayed at in Key West! The location is perfect. Right off of Duval, but down closer towards the Southern Most Point. You are about 8 short blocks within walking distance from all of the bars. This way, you are close to the action, but are able to get some peace and quiet.  Morning breakfast and happy hour are both major plusses. The rooms are SO CLEAN and very much up to date. The staff was VERY accommodating and friendly Love the fact that there is a CVS next door. It's a bit pricey, but so is everything else on the island. It's a steal, trust me. We will be returning soon!

My husband and I chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews and I must say everyone was right! What a beautiful and well kept boutique hotel. Location was perfect, just off Duval. Our room was perfectly decorated, very chic. The owner is there constantly to tend to your needs and make you feel special. They offer a lovely happy hour with complimentary beer and wine from 5-7, and the continental breakfast every morning is adorable. At the front desk there's Brandon, he was like our very own personal concierge...and he was fabulous! Gave us excellent recommendations for dining and things to do (from a locals perspective). We were so sad when our weekend getaway came to an end, but we've definitely found our "spot" in Key West.

My family was so pleased with this hotel. It is amazing. The location is great - an easy walk to the Southernmost Point and about twenty minutes stroll to Mallory Square. The property was beautiful - a nice koi pond, pool and patio area. The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. And then there's the gracious employees who were all very helpful and kind. Unfortunately, we did not participate in the evening happy hour but did enjoy the breakfast each morning we were there. There is a good selection for breakfast - pastries, bagels, toast, cereal, yummy yogurt & granola, fruit cups, juice, coffee & tea, etc. There is no question that I will stay here next time I visit Key West. It was one of the best hotel experiences my family has ever had.

Awesome, awesome awesome! So worth the money. Great location next to Duval, you can walk to EVERYTHING! Rooms were clean and the beds were so comfortable. The pool was divine and the happy hour and breakfast were fantastic. The only thing I wish is that there were more protein at breakfast, like eggs to order or something. I highly recommend and will stay again.

There are lots of things to like about this nice little boutique hotel. It has a wonderful location: steps away from the south (quiet) end of Duval street, right near Hemingway's house, about a ten minute walk to the Southernmost Point, and maybe twice that to Mallory Square. The facility is quite pretty, with a shaded courtyard filled with flower-bearing trees. The room was clean, well-lit, and had an amazingly comfortable king-sized bed. (One odd thing, though, was that the sink was in the room and the actual toilet and shower were in a separate area with sliding door, so if you want to brush your teeth or wash your hands you have to do it in view of everybody else in the room.) There was a better-than-average continental breakfast included in the rate, and also a manager's reception in the evening (mostly chips and salsa, cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, and so on; the first night there were cold chicken wings, but these went fast and were not replaced, and they didn't show up at all on the second night). The staff was very helpful and friendly. Wifi was free and worked great.

So, why not five stars? Only one reason: the price. Our two-night stay cost a thousand dollars. Granted, Key West is pricey and we were there during spring break, which undoubtably made things even more expensive than usual, but that just seemed ridiculous. However, if you're in the mood for a splurge and can get past the sticker shock, you should have a very nice time here. Judged without regard to price, this hotel runs a close second to my all-time favorite American boutique hotel, the Magic Castle Hotel in Los Angeles.

I use yelp for pretty much everything in life, but have never actually written a review.. until now when I feel everyone needs to know about this amazing place to stay in Key West! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they really make you feel like family! Rooms are a perfect size and kept beautifully clean. They even turned the sheets down at night and left a sweet treat! Pool area is kept just as nice and towels are supplied. The continental breakfast is wonderful with a good sized spread of baked goods and my favorite the fresh fruit and yogurt parfait! The location is perfect, right off of Duval but situated perfectly between the southernmost beach and the bars. I would recommend Almond Tree to anyone visiting Key West and can not wait to book my next stay!

A wonderful place to stay !  A true gem in the middle of Key West. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure all your requirements are fulfilled. You come as guests and leave as family

The hotel is impeccably clean and walking distance to all the great sites in Key West. Location could not be any better.

The rooms have all been updated and I will return again. Highly recommend !!!

    Worst experience ever

First of all, when we checked in the late-night manager was incredibly rude which we now know was foreshadowing the weekend for their their entire staff.

The rooms were incredibly small and piled onto each other and was not worth the rate we paid

On day of checkout we had to be out by noon. Leading up to check out, the staff was pushy and and kept asking when we would be out before noon as we're loading our cars.

To top it off, when we booked our room we confirmed with the hotel that we had 'x' amount of guest which is why we needed a pull out couch and two beds which was again communicated at time of check in. However, when we left, they tried charging us extra for having the amount of guests we did. When we politely asked to talked to the manager, the lady at the desk snapped at us and said: "I am the manager and I can't do anything about it". WTF? Who says that in the hospitality industry?

Needless to say we'll be staying somewhere else when we visit beautiful Key West
