Had a beautiful room, large and very comfortable.  The 2 pools are gorgeous, and the breakfasts and lunches were very good. All the service people I met were very pleasant and helpful, especially MJ, the concierge, but including the valets, the pool waiters, etc.  They are definitely still doing some work but it wasn't disturbing at all. The fitness center was really nice.  I didn't try the spa but I understand it still is not done.  Overall, I would definitely return.

This is an excellent hotel in Key West.  Their service is good and they've completed a renovation that was going on the last time I was there.  The decor is modern and the rooms are spacious and well appointed.  The only criticisms I can think of are that several people in my group complained about the air conditioning.  It appeared to me its on a motion sensor so if you're not in the room it probably limits the ac to conserve energy, the problem is that the room would get warm at night which interrupted our sleep.  The other thing is that the beds were not the most comfortable and for the price and rating of the resort, they should be better.  All in all it is beautifully appointed and well kept.  There are two pools, a private beach, a dock (with great fishing) and a number of recreational opportunities on the property.

I had a great time at this place. I thought it was romantic, clean, relatively friendly, etc. etc. The location is pretty good too - since the weather is usually good, a short walk to the main street was pleasant. I'd rather have that than be too close and too loud.  It was nice that we were allowed to use all of the amenities at the Reach too. There is no place that I would rather stay in Key West. I don't give it the full five stars because the service was not that level, and their food and drinks weren't great. Plus if you wanted to buy coffee in the gift shop it cost like a million bucks.

I'm glad that I booked Casa Marina and did not listen to the other reviewers. Our ocean view room had a balcony and was very clean, no cock roaches or chips were found. The staff is very friendly, especially Patrick, who checked us in. Service at the pool restaurant for lunch was slow. Best feature: the private beach and the hammocks. The grounds are beautiful. We did not use the hotel restaurants except for one lunch. We went for breakfasts on our rented bikes to Duval street for fresh croissants (4 Stars) and had our dinners at the Louie's Backyard (highly recommended). Complaining about the $5.00 water (Evian, which is $3.50 anyway at the local Walgreen's there) and the $25 resort fee is absolutely ridiculous.

Purchased by Blackstone a few years ago, they just completed a 43 million dollar renovation in which they promised to restore the original hotel to it's grand splendor of the 1930s.  Instead they ripped everything out with any character and replaced it with cookie cutter furniture and fixtures.  The grounds are horribly planned, and as of this writing, unfinished.  At 9 am there were tractors on the beach while a couple was trying to have a romantic massage at the "spa" which is actually just a converted hotel room that they call a spa.  On top of all this, the new managers fired every employee of the old hotel and replaced them with untrained, uninterested, lower paid people from elsewhere.  Maybe they will eventually fix it, but until then, Stay Away!

In early 2006 we went to the Casa Marina Resort as it appeared to be a high end Hotel and the prices were as such.  We flew into Miami and rented a convertible to enjoy the sunshine along US1 through the Florida Keys prior to arriving at our destination.  When we arrived we were greeted by employees whom I thought were doing valet parking, Not, we had to park our own vehicle and carry our own luggage (Nice Welcome).  After checking in and making a reservation for a third floor room with an ocean view we were put on a ground floor room with a not so lovely view of a mound of sand and the room smelled like a swamp.  We complained about the accommodations and were then moved to what was originally reserved two weeks in advance.  The nights where a little cool so we gathered the blanket that was in the closet only to find it covered in what appeared to be Dorito crumbs and nacho seasoning (ewwwww).  The following morning we headed out to the hot tub which was overrun with children and decided to head over to the pool.  After taking one look into the pool and seeing what looked like the Florida Everglades growing within the pool we gathered our belongings and headed into town for the day.  This Resort claimed to be a five star resort and billed us as such when in fact it was nothing less than a fly by night operation.  In the future should we have the opportunity to head out to Key West again the local B&B's will be the way to go for us.  I know that the Resort has changed ownership and only hope that their ways of maintaining and running the business have changed as well.

This is absolutely a five star hotel in my opinion.  It's definitely beautiful!  We were fortunate enough to have a room on the ground floor right on the beach.  Open up your sliding glass door and walk out the the pristine sand, massage tiki, several hammocks, numerous water sports, fabulous pier, two hotel pools and restaurant.  The room was gorgeous, the bed was DANGEROUSLY comfortable (seriously, one day we didn't get out of bed 'til 11:30!), the lobby and surrounding areas are very clean, fresh, modern, and updated.  This is only beginning of the fabulousness (yes, it's a word) of Key West.  Make this your next vacation.

Hands Down, I would come here again. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about but I'm surprised after staying here. First off, I'm a hotel snob. I work on the road and only stay at Hilton or Marriott brand hotels. I want my room to feel great and my sheets better be unbelievable! ( 600+ thread count). Sorry to sound snobby but I am at hotels.  I believe if you pay top dollar then you should get it. The Casablanca marina doesn't disappoint!  First, being a platinum member with Hilton, we got upgraded to a one bedroom suite!  I'm so happy about that as the room was superb. The check in process was fast and friendly. The hotel is absolutely stunning but not so stuck up that you need to put on "airs"!  I know the resort fee is 25 but you get you money's worth. The water concierges set up you chairs, either beach or pool side. They pass put popsicles every afternoon too!  Downside- pool was not warm but actually hot. Kinda bummer. We got in once but the atmosphere was fun and relaxing. The ocean....beautiful to look at but was not prepared to walk on......sea grass????... No sand...yep...mushy seagrass... Okay...so i only got in the ocean once. Now...don't let that stop you from staying here. Apparently, it's on almost EVERY beach in key west. No complaining...just unexpected. Some folks complained about room service....they are crazy. Ours came THREE times a day!  Truly, morning, afternoon and night....we never had less than four towels ever!  I can't say that I've stayed anywhere else, and I've travel around the world...and I've never had room service this good. Food- pricey as expected but not chincy!  More than enough. Although I still cringe @ 50 for breakfast. But service.....wait staff were consistently good....

Toys-  the waterspouts place was great!  And my personal recommendation.... Rent bicycles for you entire stay. It's way to hot to walk the several miles you'll trek back and forth to duvall street. Renting a car is a waste as parking is a nightmare here on the island and the mopeds are so-so. Rent the bikes so you can wrk off all the great food you'll eat.  The concierge staff are also great. They pointed us in the right direction with food and fun.

Food- seven fish (a must), flaming buoy (awesome scallops and spicy chocolate quesadillas)
See- rent a bike and get lost on streets!  Thats where we had the most fun  Go to Fort Taylor see the sunset and beach! Be careful of going into bahama village (off petronia towards fort) after dark.
Tour- decide if you want to be apart of a herd of people (Fury tours) or intimate tour. We went with key west Eco tour (sail/snorkel/kayak). 4 hours of fabulous fun!

Don't- forget to rent a bike :)....I made the mistake of bringing nicer clothes....it's way to hot in June. Besides.....every restaurant, even the really really nice ones, island casual!  I brought 8 shoes and wore two pair!
Do- plan to sweat! Lol....don't worry...you'll get used to it.

I hope this was helpful.  We plan to come back soon.  Can't wait to see life during the winter months!  Oh...and our demographic age group is 35 and 44.

Wonderful experience at the Casa Marina.   Felt like a rockstar the whole time!  The private beach was beautiful with our personal dock and a few hammocks to just lounge in. Laying out on the beach, our cabana boy(?) would surprise us with treats like popsicles, watermelon, cold towels, and kept the drinks comin' and comin' .  Beds were comfy as hell and the showers had excellent water pressure. Service was wonderful  and the place is just gorgeous!

The hotel was nice. You can hear everyone though. Dont bother eating at the bar unless you are really hungry. The breakfast was ok a little on the pricey side for what you got. All in all i would go back again.

Casa Marina Resort is absolutely beautiful.  Unfortunately, the people there are inept, supercilious, and attitude-strong.   I can't believe that Hilton would lend the Waldorf Astoria name to an establishment with such poor customer service.  I went to Key West a week ago with 2 girls from school.  We were going to have one of those lush weekends you long for all week long.  We got there and asked the front desk lady for an upgrade since I was a Gold Hilton Honors member and have been staying at their hotels for years.  She was some little 18 year old kid with an attitude.  She said, "There are none available."  We then asked, "Can we at least have a late check-out?  Her response was, "Uhhh okay checkout is 11 AM, I guess we can give you to noon."    We got to our room, and it was completely filthy with some old man sleeping in his tighty whities.  It smelled awful.  It was like he used the room as a toilet.  I asked a nearby housekeeping person to get us the manager.  We waited.  No manager came up.  We went down to complain to the front desk.  We waited another half hour for the manager down stairs and he never came.  Finally, I yelled at them, got some associate manager, talked about how terrible the service was, and he said that he would give us an upgrade.  I turned my head to the 18 year old kid who told me that there were no upgrades available and said, "No upgrades huh?"  And she said, "Well I guess you got lucky."

We went out to downtown Key West to have some fun while they got our room ready.  We then went to the beach to enjoy margaritas all day.  We then returned to get our "upgraded room."  Our upgraded room was actually a disabled room with a terrible view of some city tennis courts.  The disabled room smelled awful.  It smelled like medicine and urine.  I felt like I was staying at a hospital.  Not only that, the concierge never brought our bags up!  They forgot about them!  We said, "Screw this" and checked out angrily.  When we were having a drink at a bar downstairs, we asked for the bill and literally waited for 45 minutes and they never brought the bill.  We just ended up leaving cash on the table and leaving.  We then tried to put this terrible hotel service behind us and enjoy the rest of the day on the beach and did some snorkeling.  We drove back that night without staying overnight in Key West.  Casa Marina did everything they could to make my little excursion to Key West unenjoyable.  We made the best out of it, then left.  Thanks, Casa Marina! Your pretentiousness and lack of execution has prevented you from being a real hotel!

When we walked in the service was great and was very helpful. When we got to our room it wasn't the right room and because it was memorial day weekend they had no other rooms available. We paid of $300 for the room and we have a poor view from our place and the breakfast is $26 per person...no free breakfast. We have been to the keys 3 times and stayed at one of the bed and breakfast places and it was much nicer. The quality of the sheets were like paper and the restaurant service they say they have on the beach lacks structure. Love the view but we could have walked here from our other place to see the view. Hopefully this helps.

After investigating on yelp and other sites, I was extremely weary on the few hundred we were spending a night. I sincerely disagree with all the reviews. An avid new yorker, I feel I'm a tough sell. This place was great. Amazing and friendly service. Yes of course drinks were expensive, aren't they at any resort? But boy were they yummy!  How about laying at the pool with a Cart making fresh berry mohitos Sounds good to me.
We had a problem with getting a king bed room, however bc of the great service, they removed all of our resort fees and valet fees.  Yes the rooms are expensive, but your in a prime location and really relaxing atmosphere.  We will certainly stay here again.

Love this place.  We just came back from a nice trip.  Weather was not the best but still got to enjoy the hammocks and beach.  This is one hotel that has a sandy beach front.  They have all to offer here.  They are a bit on the high side.  25 a day resort fee.  No free wi fi in room.  Drinks and food are not cheap.  But overall a nice play to stay.  Dont get room 302 you can hear the next room clear as day.

as of may 2008 this place is great!

my friend and i "accidentally" snuck into this resort and had a great time relaxing in one of their two beautiful pools, playing at their private beach, and relaxing in the hammocks while watching people play beach volleyball. we didn't get a peek at the rooms but based on the friendly staff and beautiful lobby, i think it's improved a lot since nichol a's visit. i took a peek online and their prices aren't too bad for what you're getting :)

handing out free popsicles = yumm!!!

Considering how much the Casa Marina Resort costs, I would expect first rate service. Let me start off with the positive, the pool and beach are great and the staff who runs this side of the hotel were awesome. Unfortunately, I had to sleep and eat here as well. Our room was well-positioned next to the loading dock so while my sleep was disrupted by some early morning deliveries. The good news was that I always had a heads up when the deliveries were coming in before the hotel dock staff did. Despite the complaints, we could not get a different room. While breakfast looked good upon the buffet walk-by, our service was rock-bottom resulting in a confrontation with the restaurant management. The bottom-line is Casa Marina Resort has a great location and infrastructure, but is currently missing on the service front, when they can iron this out they will be world-class resort.

This property is really gorgeous. We only stayed for 1 night but we liked it. When you arrive they give you a coupon for a free drink and conch appetizer. We decided to eat lunch at the hotel as a result. The drinks were so so, very sweet. The conch appetizer was pretty good but we both got fish tacos as our appetizer and they weren't very good. The mahi mahi was not very fresh so as a result, the tacos suffered. I suggest you go get the free drinks and appetizer and eat lunch in town. The doors to the rooms are not well insulated and you could hear people in the hallway perfectly. The AC was great, it was very cold and easily adjustable. The bathroom could use a little sprucing up, the bottom of the cabinets are metal and had some rust on it. I like the option the hotel has of self parking right across the street, valet is just so expensive!! This hotel was nice, next time we come to key west we will stay here.

Try to stay in the historic old building; our first room in one of the wings was not that clean and had a paper-thin door to the adjoining room. Seriously, we could have participated in their conversation @ 6:30am. Front desk moved us and all was sweet. Perfect access to the beach and friendly staff. Housekeeping a little clueless.

Wasn't impressed at all! We stayed here as a spur of the moment trip to Key West. The beach wasn't nice at all, you need shoes to walk on it or your feet will be cut up. The parking lot is across the street or alley....whatever it is. The rooms were nice, you can tell they were trying to be modern. Housekeeping didn't pay attention to the do not disturb so yeah we were disturbed. The beds were not comfortable. The service at the restaurant wasn't all that. I don't know, I just expected more. Oh well, nice try.

This was an overall great place to stay, but just some minor things that kept me from giving this place a full 5 rating. Booked via points, so cannot talk about value.

We had a basic bedroom w/ king bed. The bedroom area is very open and spacious, with a small armchair to the side and a bench at the foot of the bed. Full size closet with robes off to the side of the room, which is nice so you don't see your luggage mess when you walk into the room. Bathroom was surprisingly small - contained only a shower stall (no tub), and little sink space. Bathroom  definitely felt that design was valued above functionality. The sink faucet is off to the side so it's easy to spill water out. The shower stall is half glass and half shower curtain so you have to keep the water aimed to one side to avoid water from spilling out (this angle would suck if you were taller). Aside from these nitpicky things, no other complaints on the rooms - the look was nice and most importantly, everything was clean. There's also a nespresso machine and a small fridge that had enough empty space to put fruit, water bottles, etc inside.

Casa Marina is on the south side of Key West, while Mallory Square is on the opposite side to the north. You do need to cab everywhere (around $8-11) if you want to avoid walking in the sun/heat. It's about a 20 min walk to Duval street, and you can slowly go up that street to Mallory Square, but it is quite a bit to walk. The activities we were doing all left from the north side of the island, so we had to keep cabbing over to areas near Mallory Square. The hotel is a bit aways from most of the nightlife, shopping activity. El Siboney (great cuban restaurant) is about a 10 min walk away. The Reach resort, also a hilton property, is close by. Airport transportation is best via taxi, $8 per person.

The resort has its own little manmade beach, and is beautiful to look at. Sunning chairs and hammocks abound and you can have them help you place chairs wherever you want. There's also two large pools. The resort fee covers the following: wireless internet on property, gym, use of beach volleyball, bocce, pool table, pool toys, hammocks, pool concierge service (popsicles, drinkOTD samples, frozen face cloth that smells like benzocaine), free phone for local and w/in the US calls, newspaper. There's dining by the pool/beach at the Sun Sun grill (typical fare, questionable service from here), there's a lobby bar that services absinthe, and a small gift/supplies shop. The Reach resort nearby has a steakhouse and terrace dining. What would make this place great is if it had its own quality restaurant for dinner on the property - i would just stay right on the resort all day if they had this. We also got two free bottles of water a day, which is a nice touch.

Housekeeping was great at keeping the place clean the days we spent here. We did call for extra shampoo, but the person gave us ONE bottle of body wash. Not the same. I got a spider bite, and the front desk staff were great. This was late at night, and they called for someone to apply some gel for the bite, and gave me a free bottle of benadryl to help with the itching/swelling. Was a very nice surprise, and was very much appreciated. The concierge for booking activities was a bit different though. They were very helpful and nice but it took me 30 minutes to book a snorkel/sailing trip. I asked about the snorkel and sail trip on the list of activities and how it differed from Danger Charters since the price and description sounded the same (Danger Charters I had separately found on tripadvisor). The guy was like, yeah the two things are pretty similar. Another person there, then told me that the pamplet of activities was very outdated and that the location to meet didn't exist anymore. She then looked through her series of pamphlets and figured out what snorkel/sail the activity was now booked through (ended up being Danger Charters). Everything turned out great but it was just a bit disorganized and confusing to book with them.

Very nice hotel but hard to believe this is a Waldorf Astoria hotel.   We enjoyed our stay here as the place is a decent hotel and the service we received was pretty good.

Some of the issues we had included our rooms being made up very late in the day.  When I say late I mean 5:00 PM when we wanted to be getting ready for dinner.  Also we had a dessert at the Sun Sun restaurant here at the hotel (we did not have dinner there due to the limited menu) and had a lack of service.

However the rest of our service was great.  The concierge was knowledgeable and very helpful in aiding us with island information.  We enjoyed our time by the pool as it was not crowded and drinks served.  Finally our room was nice with a great ocean view.

Overall this is a great hotel but Waldorf Astoria....I think not.  After seeing the numerous cute Bed & Breakfast hotels we would elect to stay there next time (then around 11:00 find a Chair Lunch Dinner so we do not get hungry through the day).  But we enjoyed the hotel.

Great place for the family. I found the staff to be attentive. The grounds are gorgeous. The only thing I don't like are surprise charges....
They tried to charge me a $25 per day per room resort tax for groundskeepiing...that's just rediculous and I refused to pay for all of it... 3 days, 2 rooms was an extra $150.

other than that great location...quiet side of town...nice place!

I know Key West is expensive for accommodations, so I'll leave the ridiculously high price out of my review and rating, but let's just say it was ridiculously high priced.

    The good:

-It's gorgeous, you can't argue with that. Beautiful grounds, pool, white sandy (albeit fake) beaches, hammocks, etc. The beauty here is the only reason it's not getting 1 star.

    -Nice, clean room

-Good location. On the beach, quiet section of town but easily walkable to the Duval strip

    The bad:

-The drinks in the poolside bar are horrible. Overpriced (again, not surprising), weak, and just uninspired and poor examples of tropical standards like pina coladas.

-The valet service was confusing and unfriendly

-The pool and poolside bar close like at sundown. Hello? We're here on Valentine's weekend and it's a balmy 75 degrees out. It may not be mid-summer or spring break but it's really depressing to be shooed out of the area by 7 pm. Weird.

-Speaking of being shooed in at 7...... the indoors bar is horrible. It's basically a small corner of the lobby with 5 stools, unless you want to go into their restaurant.

-Poor service, actually, a complete lack of service all around. For being the Waldorf,  I thought maybe we'd get a fresh towel at the pool or more attentive bar tenders or a turn-down or something.

I don't know much about the other hotels and B&B's here, but I highly recommend finding a different one to stay at.

P.S. They tried charging us for a ridiculous amount of bottled Evian water (we didn't have any). I know it seems trivial, but at checkout, we asked the guy to remove the charges and he laughed ominously, saying everyone seems to get charged incorrectly for water there. Eh?  Perhaps he should alert his manager.

P.P.S. Did I mention they tried charging me for 4 instead of 3 nights?

My boyfriend and I came here for a staycation- this place was beautiful!!! For the price the room was just ok!! We woke up the morning after we got here to a drilling noise coming from outside- opened the balcony door and ugh!! It was a man drilling something on the next balcony!! When we asked him to stop, he said "this isn't good for you?" umm for $400 a night no it's not- idiot!! Called the front desk they took $50 off the bill- whatever! But this place was very blissful, beautiful, amazing!!! I don't think it was very kid friendly though- so leave the kiddies home :(

Let me start this out with the fact that my family travels a lot and we have Diamond status with Hilton properties. Additionally, we didn't pay for any of our 4 nights stay.

That said, my husband and I really loved the Casa Marina Resort. The staff was so nice to us everywhere we went. The Concierge Christina was remarkable. The gentleman at the front desk that checked us in (I'm sorry I don't remember your name) was tremendously nice and very helpful. The property is remarkably beautiful and simple. The beach was amazing and the property even delivered resident Tarpon and Snapper (fish) living under the dock for their guests to chase around with snorkeling masks and underwater cameras. The sticky drinks were fantastic and the outdoor bar was was right on the beach! I wish I could figure out how they get the tasty brown sugar flavor to mix so well with their Pina Coladas. YOU MUST TRY ONE!

The rooms were simple and well appointed just like any Omni, Westin or W I have stayed in.

I loved our stay and cannot wait to return.

After discovering an expired passport while packing for Cancun, we decided to give Key West a try and Casa Marina was the only 'beach' hotel with availaibility.

First the good stuff. Service was good for the most part, rooms were very clean and pools/beach were well maintained. Beds were very comfortable and tile showers had great water pressure (almost too much pressure!) Also you get full acces to the neighboring Reach Resort. We didn't have enough time to go there, but I wish I'd given their beach a try.

Ok, now the not so good: First, the beach was artificial and the shoreline is rocky so don't plan on just walking into the ocean. There is a pier with stairs that gets you past the rocky part and a swimming pier about 50 yards out into the ocean. However, the water is full of sea grass, the bottom is muddy and the swimming pier is covered with bird crap! Next, we called to have the room made-up by 3:00 (after reading reviews about late maid service), when we came back to the room at 3:15 it still wasn't done. Not what you'd expect in this price range hotel. Finally, the location is pretty far from everything so plan on taxi/bike or drive.

Finally, my personal rant about resort fees. Casa Marina charges $25/day plus $15/day for parking ($20 for valet) This just seems like a cheap and petty practice. Yes, the online list price is lower and maybe you suck people in the door, but it's just a nickle-and-dime practice. Either include the services and raise your list price, or don't include them and stay cheaper.

So we enjoyed our stay overall, but won't be retuning and would be hesitant to recommend unless you find a good deal ($300 or less)

Not worth the price they charge.

Feels like a wyndham resort more than a Waldorf Astoria.

Had to wait over 2 hours to get my room, when I finally arrived in the room it was no where what I expected.

Staff is just okay, seem like they aren't happy to be there.

Hammocks on the beach is a nice touch.

    Rude activities staff.

I wouldn't pay again to stay here.

Short cab ride to duval, which was a plus.

The hotel is very nice but for the price, service is a major issue. scramble eggs/bacon/toast took an hour . You cannot check in until 4pm which is a joke there was a lobby full of people (40-50) with their bags from 2:30 on. I reserved a suite and the first room they gave me was a single after we waited an hour and a half for that room, it took them another hour to correct the mistake and then they sent us to the wrong room number.

There is no management presence at all and the staff should not be running the show. It is like this hotel has given up and there is a tough luck attitude when you ask for something. This place is just a real shame. The rooms are sparse like they ran out of money to finish decorating (i guess that is supposed to be stylish) the lobby is nice, which s a smoke and mirrors thing. I would not stay here again and we really wanted to like it.

Ron the concierge is the best asset this hotel has, he gave us some great no nonsense recomendations.

Just returned from a two day stay at Casa Marina.  At $450 per night, I was surprised that the room was old and dated.  Also, it was pretty shabby.  The black out curtains on the windows (which overlooked the parking lot) had horizontal rips in them.  The green dental floss on the white tile floor remained there from an obviously previous guest.  In the very sparse lobby, the ATM was broken as was the printer for the guests to use for airline checkin and printing their boarding passes.  Out of curiosity I asked the manager if there were nicer rooms that I could be moved to, and she informed me candidly that EVERY room was dated.   The exterior grounds were beautiful, and the amenities were plentiful...kayaks, little sailboats, bicycles...  But if you care about creature comforts in your room, this is SO not the place to be in Key West.

This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. It looks as if it is all that but it is not and then some. When we arrived with our rental car they intimated that the only parking was by valet when there was a parking lot across the street gratis... The check-in was very lengthy and unorganized. When we finally made it to our room it smelled so bad we told them they needed to find us another one. That one was only a teeny bit better but what were we to do except make the best of it.

Well, later that day when I pulled the spare blanket out of the closet, it was filthy with what could best be described as Dorito or Cheetos particles ground into the fabric. I guess they do not do linens on a regular basis, meaning when they are made dirty!

So the pool... it was disgusting. The bottom was covered with green algae making it totally unusable and quite vile to look at!

At least it was somewhat well located so that the car was unnecessary. But as we walked into town passing the stately grand B&Bs/inns, we wished we had looked into those instead of this sham of what once must have been a beautiful hotel. In its day. About 50 years ago. When they last washed that blanket!!!

PS After viewing the photos, all of which must have been posted by the resort since they are not attributed to any yelpers, I can assure you that our room did not even remotely resemble what is illustrated. Maybe they finally finished renovating but not when I was there. When I was there, it was a tropical nightmare!!!

Brought The BF along for a conference I was attending at Casa Marina during lobsterfest.  From the moment we walked in the service was exceptional. They hold your bags and give you a phone call when your room is ready. The architecture is amazing and you definitely get that resort feel.  The conference rooms were spacious, but FREEZING. Everything was very clean, especially our room, but I was a bit disappointed with the public restrooms. The restrooms near the lobby and the ones near the conference rooms were not as clean as I would expect from a 5 star waldorf Astoria hotel! They also didn't have a hook for my purse behind the door - you can tell that they used to have one, but they all just happened to be broken. After my meetings for the day were over I got to meet up with The BF who was lounging by the pool all day. The outside pool area is beautiful and relaxing. A separate adults only pool would make it extra serene as there were many families with small children making lots of noise.

Our room was a bit on the smaller size but it was good for 2 people. The shape was kind of odd so we referred to it as a pizza slice (if you get that room you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!).  I dunno what type of bed they use, but any sort of movement one person makes is easily felt AND HEARD by the other person! Room service was quick - cheeseburger was great but the key lime pie was too tart for my taste. Plus: you get the New York times every morning.  Our overall experience was an amzing one and we can't wait for next year's conference!!

So we went here for a no kids weekend.  Our goal was a relaxing weekend and it was accomplished.  This hotel is on the south side of Key West away from the Duval craziness and it's good size.  We paid a little extra and got a room with a patio right on the beach.  When we arrived in the room it was first floor not 20 yards from the sand and waves.  Perfect spot.  We sat on the patio and didn't have to fight for a chair at the pool since we were just as close to the bar (bonus)!  It's not cheap but I'd recommend if you want to impress the misses!  Avoid the spa - it is a hotel room (literally) where they give you a massage.  My wife was super disappointed and it wasn't cheap.  If you want a massage go for the outdoor one on the beach at least you get the ocean sound.

The Casa Marina property is beautiful, both the building and the grounds. The room furnishings are satisfactory. Nice linens, good shower pressure, and quality shampoo/conditioner/soaps.

Unfortunately, the service is wretched. We checked in about 2 hours before the (absurdly late) standard check-in time of 4:00. We were told that our room was nonetheless ready and were sent upstairs -- to find the room was still occupied by a half-dressed gentleman. Our new room turned out to be home to a giant roach and unidentified droppings, so we were moved to a third room. Later in the week, we encountered lackluster cleaning staff (old blood stains on floor and furniture, impossible to have a missing bathmat sent to room, no extra roll of toilet tissue...) We sat at the pool one afternoon for about 10 minutes, ignored by the staff (who were goofing with each other), and had to ask at the bar to get towels.

The experience was bad enough that we will never stay in another Waldorf-Astoria property. Thankfully, we loved Key West so much and had such a good time off-property that our 10th anniversary was still a great time. We will be back to Key West but will not be staying at Casa Marina.

Fabulous oceanfront exterior....our room was no better than a holiday inn.  Dated and not very clean. Arrived to someone's left over dental floss on the floor. Green floss on white tile..hard to miss. ATM machine broken in lobby. Guest services printer broken, so could not print boarding passes. Good hotel if you are focused on resort amenities of kayaks, jet skis etc. and you do NOT care about your room.  When I asked the concierge if there were nicer rooms ($450 was our rate per night) I was told, no, all rooms were old and very dated.

I waffled between 3 & 4 stars.  Overall we were pleased with the hotel - the room was really small, but well appointed and comfortable.  We didn't have a view, but we weren't there to spend a bunch of time in the room , either.  Food options are limited, but the food is really, really good, although quite expensive.  2 pools, lots of beachfront, and stunning views make the outdoors the highlight of the resort.  The staff was very friendly & helpful.  We'd stay here again if we return to Key West.

HOWEVER, the spa is another story...   The facial was nice, but during my aromatherapy massage, the masseuse WAS TEXTING!  I was appalled!  TEXTING!!!  She tried to play off the one-handed foot massage, but it was clear that she had just put her phone down when I picked up my head to see what was going on.  Ridiculous!  Pass on the spa - the rest of the hotel was great.

I was here 4 days for a business conference.  Rooms are nice enough but not set up for the business traveler.  However, the conference support staff were awesome--kept all the drinks and coffee filled, and the food we ordered was tasty.  I would come back here if I had business in Key West again.
Plus: Great views, lovely beach with plentiful lounge chairs and hammocks, nice pools, good food, Nespresso machine in the room which I used several times a day, bottled water in the room (restocked daily), great housekeeping, friendly staff, fridge in the room, a safe to store valuables, cool sand sculptures, quiet air conditioner, great water pressure in the shower, shy iguanas chilling in the shrubs!
Minus: ATM did not work and they sent me to their sister property to use theirs, squeaky bed, room with a view of the parking lot, no drawer space at all, pools jam-packed with people except at night--I had to swim from 8-9pm because it was too crowded before that, rocky beach--not a good beach for swimming, furniture needed cleaning, high price for valet parking.
Other: There was a wedding every day I was there!  Romantic for them, if you don't mind jet skis zipping back and forth right behind your beach wedding!  Got to be a little frustrating for me, detouring around the reception area which was between me and my room.  But I guess that's what you should expect in June!

Obviously, I'm a fan of food and nice bedding so those are the two things my husband and I look for when we're picking a hotel.  First off, the lobby of the hotel is breath taking.  You get a book about the hotel in your room (and of course, because I'm a big nerd I read it all) and there's so much history to this place, it's really pretty. And although our ocean suite was very nice, the bed was very comfy, the pool side staff was spot on and overall, Casa Marina sits on a beautiful chunk of land, the food for the price is ridiculous.  It really bothered me.  I felt like we got steered to mediocre places to eat while being given coupons with peoples names on them like they get some sort of fee for herding me there - and when we chose to eat at the hotel, were astonished by how expensive things were.  I mean, we just stayed at the Four Seasons in Santa Barbara a month or two a go and their breakfast buffet was about the same price but we were wowed by not only the food but the service.  This place just left us lacking in that department.  I'm still on the fence on whether or not we'd stay there again.

I don't usually write reviews unless compelled to by excellent customer service. As a person that works in sales and attends mandatory customer service meetings every month, I even brought up this one experience in today's customer service meeting. ...

I stayed in The Casa Marina Resorts last year and everything went smoothly. The check in was easy. The room was great. The food and service, and the pool boys were extremely helpful and friendly.

This year, I went back because of such a good time. As you all know, there are cheaper places to stay in Key West, but the service and the decor of this place is unmatchable.

We checked in this year and were brought to a different room than we stayed in last year. There were a few amenities missing in our room but housekeeping took care of it, still.. I wanted to stay in a similar room in the same building we were last year. I called the front desk, but they said it was all booked (this was a Saturday) Yet, I thought surely something can be done. I decided to walk down to the front desk myself. After all, we did pay a lot of money for one night and I figured why not just try.

The manager that helped me was so helpful and courteous. I explained to him the reason why I came back and that my expectations were for a room similar to the one I stayed in last year. He explained that they were fully booked like his colleague said, but that my bf and I could stay in a room with 2 beds or a different room (it was actually a room equipped for handicaps, even though everything was still the same. It had only one noticeable difference which was that the peep hole on the door was lower than usual). He gave us the keys to check out the room. We checked it out and decided we preferred the room with one bed instead of two, since there wasn't any other noticeable difference. We decided to change rooms and he ensured us that we wouldn't be taking the room from someone that needed it since we were staying for one night. So I felt good about it.

Later that day, after we had lunch and came back to our hotel room to change to go down to DUVAL street, which is the main street. (and btw you have to check out SLOPPY JOES at the near end of Duval: live music and strong, cheap drinks)
I came back to the room and found a card with my name on it, apologizing for my dissatisfaction in the earlier room and a bottle of wine. I thought, WOW here's someone who made me feel special and an individual and valued as a customer. EVEN though every room was booked that we reserved (a single room, king bed) The manager still offered alternative solutions and responded with a no problem attitude instead of saying no straight out.

As a person that deals severely with customer service on a daily basis, I thought the manager handled that excellently and because they took that time to make me feel ensured in their service, I will not go anywhere else anytime I'm in Key West or when I visit another city that has a Waldorf Astoria Resort.

We stayed at the Casa Marina for the 4th of July weekend.  We had a great time and even brought our little dog. Dog's under 25 lbs are welcome at the hotel.

We booked the jet ski tour, concierge booked an offshore fishing trip with Wild Bill and they picked us up right at the hotel dock, and enjoyed the area.  We had great recommendations for food.  One night we hit Louie's Backyard and had an excellent dinner.  Cute place and within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel.

Room was super clean and they even delivered  dog bowls, bone placement and a dog bed upon check-in.  It was perfect.

The guys that helped set out beach chairs and towels were wonderful.  I believe it was Max that told us about the hotel opening up to locals for the fireworks and assured us we'd have our lounge chairs saved all day if we decided to come and go.

We will be back and enjoyed the fact that we could bring our dog.  It was a great weekend!  Thank you for making our trip so wonderful!

3.5 stars... the said $43M renovation project did resurrect an aging property; needless to say there's still a lot of room for improvement inc the elevators but overall, it was a pleasant stay which could have been so much better and hope that next time we revisit the weather will also fare much better as well... some of the pros inc location (mins away from duval and mallory square), amenities (beachside hammocks and resort style ambiance) & the potential... some of the cons inc the additional mandatory daily charges inc resort & parking fees... on the weekends, the main lobby and adjacent ballrooms seem to be filled w either a reunion or a wedding going on so what could be a perfect setting for a romantic evening usually inc more noise and people everywhere... Special thank you goes out to Roman who took the time to care and listen to my concerns and for making our experience w CMR better... We will come back and hope the second time around will be an experience that will represent the Waldorf Astoria brand more accurately...

Arriving to the hotel you are drawn in by the amazing grounds and beautiful building.  This continues all around the resort even after you come inside.  The grounds are all well maintained and are just as beautiful as in the pictures you'll see on the site.  The building really fits in well with the scenery and from the outside is very well maintained and beautiful.

Once inside, the lobby is an open inviting space.  It gets pretty crowded and the lines for check-in tend to back up.  Similar to most people our room was not ready upon arrival.  We ended up using our welcome drinks and snack, given to us by Hiltton HHonors Gold status, but I would have rather gotten into our room and made our way down to enjoy the beverage on our own time.  Luckily it was just over under an hour and a half wait.  Arriving at check-in time this is a very poor welcome, especially as a Gold member, but would be annoying for anyone.

The rooms are pretty nice for what they are.  We were in an Ocean Vista King room and the view was very nice.  On the first night it was actually really nice to be able to sit on the balcony and just listen to the ocean.  It's also a great view to wake up to in the morning.  The rooms are not too large, but are comfortable for the few hours a day you aren't sleeping there.  The bed is comfortable and the shower has good pressure and plenty of hot  water.  In our room there was a small sitting area both inside and out on the balcony.  These were great to enjoy a quick snack or eat lunch at.  The room seems to be well insulated.  The only noise we heard came from the connecting door or through the balcony door, when very loud things were going on.  Overall though it was a very quiet stay and we were able to sleep well.  The rooms seem worn in many places.  The bed is clearly getting a bit worn out and might improve from a replacement soon.  Chromed fixtures are chipping.  There were a couple holes in the drapes, easily visible early in the morning.  The shower has some dark spots in the caulk.  The room was clean and kept clean during our stay very well.  But, over time things get worn out and it's clear that's happening here.

Most people we interacted with during our stay were very friendly and really tried to make our  stay a pleasant one.  The beach and pool attendants were fun and were always quick with towels, drinks or a chair.  The bartenders were attentive and gave us a few good laughs.  The waitresses at the restaurant were quick and provided good service at breakfast.  The valet and bellmen were friendly and quick with our bags.  The only place I felt like I was being hurried out and not really appreciated as much was a couple interactions at the front desk.

Activities at the resort are really nice.  There is the beach to lay out on.  You can't just walk out into the ocean, so don't expect that.  The beach also isn't typical sand and is a bit rocky.  But it's big enough for everyone and the attendants help make it a great afternoon.  Next door is Barefoot Billy's where we had an excellent jet ski tour.  For a morning workout there is also an excellent fitness center.  It's definitely one of the best centers I've seen in quite a while.  It's clean, has plenty of high quality equipment and bottled water and towels to help you out.

Overall it was a very pleasant, relaxing stay.  I've definitely had a better overall experience for less, but the grounds and activities around the resort are included in the cost and add a lot of value.  For what's available in Key West I don't see how anything could be better though.  If I'm back in Key West in the future, Casa Marina would be at the top of my list.

the property was very pretty but the rooms were not clean. In fact they didnt even clean the room from the previous occupant. There were cheerios on the floor and ANTS!!!!! The rooms are showing signs of age, cracks in the wood in the bathroom . Also didnt clean the coffee maker and cups from the room. for what we were paying, the cleanliness was terrible. The waiter at the sun sun were good, and had the best pina colada ever. The mojitos werent bad either.

    LOVED this hotel.

The grounds are absolutely stunning.  The staff at the front desk was great and helpful.

The pool and beach are to die for.  Free drinks are different times throughout the day, frozen towels, treats.  Staff at the pool are fun, energetic, and helpful.  The dock is great, took advantage of the steps into the water.

We had a room in the newer part of the hotel, just a standard 2 queen bed room.  It was somewhat small.  But really, we didn't spend much time in there at all so it didn't matter.  It was clean and the decor perfect for my taste.

You can walk to Duval, but to get to where the most action is is a bit of a walk.  Really wish they had a shuttle.

    Would LOVE to come back

i stayed at this hotel years ago in 2003, before it was redone as a waldorf astoria hotel. i was only there 1 night at the time...in college, and on spring break. it served its purpose, as a place to lay my head after a night of partying on duval street with my girlfriends! we then stayed at its sister hotel, wyndham reach resort down the street, for the rest of the week. so i cant really tell you much in this review from that 1 night.

i more recently stayed here in 2010, since it was remodeled, and it is a beautiful hotel. the room i stayed in was nicely decorated, bright and clean. the room was located in the back of the hotel with a street view - and quite pricey for what you get. but i guess that kind of comes with the territory, being that key west is a tourist desitnation and all.

my husband and i attended a family friends 60th birthday party in the ballroom to the left of the lobby (if you are looking out at the ocean). it was a beautiful room and the service from the hotel staff was great. the food was amazing, and the cocktails were strong =)

our time at the pool was relaxing and fun during our visit. it was nice to have a pool bar that wasnt crowded, even on the weekend. and every day they walked around to the guests laying out at the pool and handed out popsicles...what a treat! it was also nice to be able to walk from the pool right down the pier and in to the ocean. you get the best of both worlds!

the gym is not actually connected to the hotel, but across the street. they have a decent amount of work out equipment and it is kept very clean. when i went it wasnt crowded and i was able to use machines and free weight without feeling like someone was breathing down my neck for their turn.

while my experience was a good one - one of my best friends had a terrible experience here, which knocks down some of the stars. her dad is the family friend that had the 60th bday party here in 2010. he also had his wedding here in 2011. my friend had a room booked for her family (her, her husband and 2 year old daughter) and somehow the reservation was screwed up. when she went to check in they did not have her room, and she ended up having to stay at her dads house for the wedding weekend. for the money that this hotel charges - they should have some sort of protocol in place for the people they screw over...especially when those people are spending a pretty penny at their establishment for various events.

Oy..how I wanted to love you Casa Marina...but I just couldn't.  The staff was sweet and helpful but the room was small and not impressive at all.  Not even a bathtub.  Nothing open before 9am which is a pain for morning people who want to get out for a bike ride or a swim.  Also the gym is across the street which is so very odd.  Bed was very squeaky and very thin walls.  My room was across from the ice machine and I heard every-time someone got ice...I expected more.

My wife and I were referred to Casa Marina and, overall, we were very pleased.  The service staff was top notch.  Check-in was easy and quick.  Our room had some slight inconveniences including the bedroom of our suite being very small and had virtually no windows (small one opening to a dark hallway).  In addition there were no normal dressers.  There were only shelves that were low and inconvenient.  The living area was spacious, having a small balcony with a great ocean view.  The pool and beach area were perfect, with more than an adequate number of comfortable lounge chairs.  The food and drink service was great.  The food at the hotel was good, especially at the pool area.  The breakfast buffet was overpriced and ordinary.  Breakfast off the menu was limited but good.  Check-out was easy and quick.

The big negative was the spa.  It was nothing but two hotel rooms with some massage tables.  It is a third party spa owner leasing the space.  It was the worst massage I ever had.  Some needed improvements are required in the gift/coffee shop.  It is very small and cramped and is very slow when there are just a few people  waiting.  The lobby bar and the inside bar are virtually never used.  I never saw anyone in them.

Overall, we had a great, relaxing vacation and would definitely return.

We recently stayed here. As a Hilton Diamond member, having spent many nights in Hilton properties, this one was not memorable and certainly didn't live up to my expectations of what my first stay at a Waldorf should be. The guest room was large though and nicely decorated. the pool area was beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Now, the bad news......

The ATM machine in the hotel was broken, and the hotel wouldn't even cash a check for a minimal amount. I cant say that I've ever been to a full service hotel that wouldn't cash checks.

We ate lunch at the hotel pool grill and quickly realized that the food and drinks at the hotel were grossly over priced, for the quality served. Much better food just a short walk away.

Location, location, location! this was the bright spot for this property. Close to the Southernmost point and only a 1.5 mile walk or a $10 cab fare to the Duval Street area and Mallory Park and Zach Taylor State Park.

Excellent hotel! The place has a great beach and pool area. When you first walk out from the lobby you see a beautiful walkway to the beach and pools. At night they have bonfires set up by the couches so you can sit and relax in the stars. No complaints except for the food :/ It was over priced and bland. If you go it is a great place to stay just eat off the property. The staff was really nice and friendly. They were very helpful with any questions that we had and took the time to fully explained anything we asked about and gave us a bunch of options when we asked about bars, food, etc. They even bumped us to a balcony view without us even asking :)

    A tale of two hotels...

I went with my family and my boyfriend joined later in the trip...the old building (where the lobby is) is SUPER nice, hardwood floors in the room, clean, quiet, well maintained.

The new building contains rooms that look like they belong in an average 3 star hotel.  Tile floors, beds that squeak and have uncomfortable springs.

Beach is incredibly rocky, so it is hard to get into the water.  Pools are small and nothing special.  Food it pretty good, bar is overpriced.  Breakfast is overpriced at the hotel as well.

Stunning location on the beach, housed in a historic mansion of a railroad and oil baron.
But sometimes, it's the little things that make a guest fond of a place.  The free popsicles passed out midday.  The free s'mores passed out at sunset (or am I just a glutton?)  We ordered lunch by pool and it was surprisingly good and reasonable - conch fritters and lobster roll (light on mayo, with chunks of mango.)  Would have loved a hot tub (it was unseasonably windy and cold) but probably would go unused during much of the humid time of the year.

Overall great experience. the staff were very kind and attentive during the stay. The concierge was helpful in finding great local places as well as making reservations for us at the busy locations. the grounds and buildings themselves are great, the interior is stunning with the old wood beams etc. very interesting to the eye. Some advantages to the pool include, drink of the day sample, cold Aloe Vera towels, Popsicles and a person spritzing you with cold water all at specified times at the pool which are all complimentary. The fire pits are wonderful to go sit around at night with a group of friends, or sway in one of the hammocks beneath the palms on the beach during the day.

It's a nice hotel but not up to Waldorf standards. It's in a quit part of Key West , which is a nice plus! The grounds are nice and the rooms are ok. It's just missing some of the finer touches. For the money you pay to stay here I expected more and got less. Next time we will look elsewhere and save a few bucks also.

For a "resort" I felt there were a few things that really would have made huge difference in my stay.   There is no dinner after 11:00.  Not even room service.  Two beautiful pools, but they close at dusk.  So forget the romantic night swim.  Also the "free" wifi didn't work the whole time I was here   Just a few of the weird things I dealt with here.  Staff was pretty helpful, and nice.   But too many restrictions to have fun.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely amazing! Stunning view as soon as you walk out the lobby with two beautiful pools, a private beach with hammocks in the palm trees and cabana boys ready to set up your chairs towels etc and meet your every need. They even come around with complimentary frozen cucumbers for your eyes and cool mists, frozen eucalyptus oil soaked towels, and Popsicles! The hotel was beautifully decorated and has a great key west feel. The staff was on point with everything and always eager to help. So nice to come home each night with the bed turned down and chocolates on your pillow! Nice and safe little walk down to Duvall where all the action is. Can't say enough good things about this hotel!

I stayed here for 4 nights and I have a lot to say.  I will start with location which is magnificent.  The one thing any property cannot change is the location and here, with a private beach and a lot of rooms overlooking the water it is spectacular.  You will absolutely find yourself getting up in the morning just to view the ocean and the surroundings.

The service is a mixed bag.  Start with the good.  The guys who set you up on the beach (they put out chairs for you, put out towels, bring you cold towels, drinks etc) are fantastic!  They serve you all day and never say no to anything. TIP THEM!!  They were one of the highlights from a service perspective along with the outdoor bar.  This bar, by the beach, had great bartenders.  They were helpful, funny and made you feel right at home. The staff in the desk / registration area were fantastic as well.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend you having dinner "on the beach".  The food was good but the service was horrible.  Very slow, brought people's meals at all different times, forgot us and we had to find the person to pay the bill.  I think they have the waitress doing too much. Anyway, avoid that "experience" and you will rate the service here top notch.

The rooms were one step above a typical nice hotel room.  I did not pay the extra (almost $60) for the ocean view and balcony mainly because I never stay in my room anyway (I am typing this beachside on the extensive Waldorf Wi-Fi network - another good thing). But, I am sure the rooms overlooking the water are spectacular.

As for "price" at this point it is too hard to say whether it was great value or not.  Walking around the island I saw a lot of beautiful Bed and Breakfast type locations I would probably try if I came back.  However, I think based on what I pay elsewhere this is very reasonably done.

Overall, the only thing I would change is their dining service.  Other than that, if you are looking for an "all in" location, one where you literally could spend days just at the resort, this is absolutely it.

This hotel is an over priced joke. It has the Waldorf Astoria name against it and charges WA prices and that's about it. We paid 550 dollars for a 1 bed "suite" and then they charged us 70 dollars for a 10 buck buffet breakfast.  The room was clean but dated and their sea view was actually of the pool! The balcony was 6 x 4 and the TV did not work on half the channels. The beach furniture is plastic and the air conditioning sounded like an F18 taking off so we had to leave it off during the night which meant waking up at 3 am in an 85 degree sweat box! It was 30 bucks for valet parking which meant them driving our car 30 yards around the corner. All in all I would never recommend this hotel, ever. Save your money and stay in a local Inn.

I don't know if Ive stayed at many more places with this level of service. Want an umbrella? BAM. Its in the ground. Attendants rocking you in the hammocks lining the beach, amazing staff, amazing attitudes.
The rooms are beautiful, classy, and the whole places just screams "old world elegance".
The sunsets are other worldly, and tonight we had dinner at tables set up on the beach, with practically no one around. Prices are incredibly good for this level of resort, and the food was delicious. Dinner (two of us had lobster dishes) for three people, on the beach, with cocktails, and dessert was $115. Not bad AT ALL.

The lobby is beautiful, in shades of beige, and exotic woods, with fresh flowers. There's a shop inside that isn't huge, but has everything you need, including an ice cream bar.
Everyone from the valets to the bartenders have advice on where to go, and it feels that they genuinely want you to have a good time. "Scuba Steve" who works the beach is an absolute delight.
Water sport rentals are available (for a reasonable charge) at their secluded beach, including jet skis, kayaks, and catamarans.
The beach here is where its at. You feel like you've stumbled onto a postcard with the large hammocks swaying, and come sunset, its so beautiful its overwhelming. Expect them to make the rounds every couple hours with a free cocktail, popsicle, or chilled face towel. Top notch.

Two free bottles of water are delivered to your room every day, and cookies, petifores, and fruit make an appearance in your room upon arrival.
Full disclosure: There isn't a night scene here, so if you're looking for that, you might want to stay elsewhere. But Key West is so wild at night, don't you want to come back to a sanctuary?
All in all, the whole hotel is very chic, yet very relaxed, and there's zero attitude.
Be careful, if you stay here, you might find there no need to go anywhere else in Key West.
I've been around, and this place is tops.

My wife and I have stayed here 3 times in the past year and recently stayed here and had our wedding on the beach of the resort.  It is super amazing (sorry for that sentence), but over priced.  They do serve you on the beach and you can charge it to your room, but $14 for a mojito is a little steep.  The positives are this:
    private beach
    drink/food service
    two pools
    close to everything
    jet ski/canoe/kayak rentals on premise
    beautiful sunsets

I was a little disappointed with the wedding coordinator as he was missing for most of the ceremony and reception.  He or the hotel also lost our cupcake, that we were going to save for our 1 year anniversary.

We will return for our 1 year anniversary for our free 2 night/3 day stay.  After that I am not so sure.

This hotel is awesome. The only place to stay if you plan on going to Key West. Building is historic and well kept. Rooms are clean and roomy. Location is great. Slightly off the beaten track so you can experience the craziness of downtown but get away when you have had enough. You can walk everywhere from this location so no need for a car.

I love the Casa Marina.  The property is beautiful, service is always great, and it is in a perfect location.  I love that this hotel is so quiet, but close enough to all the action on Duvall Street.

I typically get a bike rental from the property for the week and bike to the bars on Duvall.  I love that you can get bike rentals, jet ski tours, snorkel tours, (just about anything you want to do) right from the pier at the Casa.  It's also nice that the hotel has a man made beach (not common for Key West).

The only issues we had on our recent stay were the wifi internet (very slow) and room service.  We were quoted 2 hours for room service wait one night when we called at 8:30pm.  No, I do not want to wait until 10:30 to eat my dinner when I am on vacation!  The food at the hotel is also pretty average.  I expect a bit more out of the restaurants on the property since it is one of the more premiere properties in Key West.

"UNSAFE! Thieves On Property! Not a beach location"

I had really high expectation before going to Casa Marina from what I hear from clients, friends and family. I was looking for a nice beach hotel for my whole family to enjoy (3 rooms). Unfortunately, there was no REAL beach and over $10,000 worth of belongings were stolen from our room.

Check in took a while and had to wait for one of the rooms till 5:00pm. It felt like the front desk staff were all receiving training and it was not their real job for some reason.

Rooms vary in quality and age. One of our rooms was nice but the other too were tired and old with really tiny bathrooms. That's when we upgraded our rooms to suites and kept moving around the property to fine what we were looking for. Nespresso machines in every room but you are luck if you get refills as housekeeping take ages to come clean the rooms. No windows to open in regular rooms but there were balconies in the suites.

Now one of the most important things that brought us to keywest was the beach. Casa Marina has an artificial beach where they actually imported the sand and laid it inf front of the rocks covering about 30ft of the grounds then you hit the water. None of us enjoyed the beach and had to go somewhere else to see clear waters and real sand. So if beach access in you resort is a must then look somewhere else for sure.

Safety in this hotel is not just weak, in fact there is no safety at all. There no surveillance cameras on the property which was confirmed by the security staff nor any kind of control on the ins and outs of this property. Anyone can run away with any kind of crime, you name it, and no one will have a simple clue what happened. Unfortunately, we were the victims of the hotels negligence when someone broke into our room and stole over $10,000 worth of jewelry, electronics and wallets with cash. When the security was brought to the scene they looked clueless and they didnt even communicate with each other which REALLY puts hundreds of question marks!! Our vacation was then ruined when we had to keep hiding our valuables and supervise the kids cause god knows what might happen on that property. SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND WATCH YOUR KIDS CLOSELY HERE if you choose to stay in Casa Marina which I don't recommend at all.

Keywest is not conveniently located geographically, so you cannot just pack and go to your next destination. So make wise decision and pick a safe and enjoyable place.

REALLY worst and scariest 4 days ever for a vacation.

    You all be safe

The property is beautiful, we might even return here strictly for the beauty.  We enjoyed the beach and the pool.   So why 3 stars instead of 4 or 5.

1- Service- based on other reviews you see reviews very high and low.  If you are fortunate enough to have good service that is great, our experience changeg like the wind.  From bartenders who ignore you during shift change or if they are busy making a drink.  I was standing in front of the bartender and felt like they avoid making eye contact to avoid having to acknowledge I was there.  Cute waitress on beach taking drink orders was too busy chatting up guys her age for 15 minutes.  Lobby bar is manned by Sundries store clerk.

2-Housekeeping- put need service sign up each day prior to 9 AM.  We did not return to room until after 3 and room was not serviced.

    3-Hallways were not vacuumed daily.

4- Concerige (Light haired Male) was useless, Bellman was more helpful.

5- $20 for burger for lunch with fries.

6- Drinks expensive just to be expensive since its the Waldorf (and again the service ismixed).

7- Pool Valets are good but instead of cleaning lounge chairs of bird poop they just cover them with towels.

8- Restaurant is over priced.  We did not eat there primarily because we had zero expectations of quality service.  If I'm going to spend  $40 for a sirloin steak I want to be able to enjoy the experience.  (Went to Latitudes for dinner, spent more and did not regret at all.  In fact we went there twice!

If I was rating just grounds, pool, beach, and property design it would be a 5.  When you  add service, guest experience, costs, resort fees (which I DID know about) you have certain expectations which fall flat.  That is how I ended up with a 3 Star.  I wish it was a 5 and really there is no reason that it should not be if it was run better

    For a Waldorf property...eh!

This was a clean, trendy, resort type hotel and the only one of it's kind on the island (also the highest rated by the island). We came to Key West for our honeymoon because of passport issues. We rented a Mustang in Miami and drove through the Keys.  Parking at the hotel was not a problem (flat fee for the entire stay).

What we learned initially is that it is not what it seems and later we learned that this was the best place to come. Our timing may have had something to do with our experience...it was the week before Fantasy Fest (look it up, but without your kids around)... all the Martians were in Key West. It was insane... but besides that...

The hotel lied about having a beach.  It is situated on a coral! There is no beach.  You have to walk out into the ocean on a very old woody pier, walk down slippery steps into maybe coral filled water and you don't want to step on coral!

The food was good. Breakfast buffet was delicious and Bloody Mary's were great. Poolside food in the afternoon is yummy.  Dinner on the pier is romantic and laying on the cots at night was a cool experience!

Local performers at the poolside bar is a cool idea and nice touch.

IF we went to Key West again, this is where we would stay.

Nice place with a few quirks you may want to consider before booking.

It's a hike to Duval Street. Maybe a little more than 30 minutes to Mallory Square. At least 10 minutes even to walk to the beginning of Duval.

The food options are limited. We couldnt get a sandwich for the road at 8:30 in the morning. There are no other places to puck up food near the hotel either.

No decent shady spots outside where one could read on an iPad.

Nice place though. Rooms were great.

Had drinks here with a friend (who was staying here while the rest of the office stayed at another resort). This resort definitely gets a 5 for the size of outdoor property they have. With that said, it's a bit of a way off from Duval St and Mallory Square.  So if you are looking for seclusion and tranquility than this is your spot.  The drinks here were a bit overpriced.  I checked out the standard room (because I'm nosy) and it was tastefully furnished with a modern theme.

Enjoy some drinks outside. The beach view and sunset is magic for the soul. :)

I love this hotel.  I've been lucky enough to make it to Key West the last 4 years in a row, and I've stayed at the Casa Marina every time.  It was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm glad he told me about it.  It's a classy place with a lot of history, and the service is excellent!

My favorite spot is the first hammock to your right when you walk up to the beach.  It's always been available when I go there...I kind of feel like it's my personal spot in Key West.  Swinging in the hammock with a nice rum filled drink and soaking up some vitamin D is one of my favorite pastimes!  The free ice pops cool you off after a long day in the sun.  They also have waverunners and other watersport gear available to rent nearby.

I've never eaten in the restaurant (I'm sure it's fine, but there are so many other places to try in Key West, it's hard to sacrifice a meal at the hotel), but the poolside grill has some nice offerings.  It's a little pricey, but no more than you'd pay for any other in hotel service.

The best thing about the Casa Marina is how peaceful it is - you're far enough away from Duval to have a relaxing place to "just be", but you're also close enough to jump into the fray whenever the mood takes you.  The hotel's just a few minutes from the airport too, which is also nice!

The beach is rocky with the remnants of a coral shelf and lots of seagrass under your feet, but the water is fine.  The only thing I ever noticed while swimming is a slight odor of diesel or methane or something...it blows in from the sea.  I've never smelled it on the beach, but for some reason you can in the water.  Other than that, the Casa Marina has it all!

I almost didn't want to write this review - it's a hidden gem and I'd like to keep it all to myself!

I guess I get it. It's the nicest place on Key West but cmon. breakfast was $60 bucks for 2 people. You're surrounded by rich people who think that they are better because they have Polo shorts on. It's a little too stuffy for me and overpriced. The food was fine but $6 for an orange juice that wasn't fresh squeezed? cmon.

This is one of the most beautiful properties in Key West (reason for 2 stars instead of one). Outside of this beauty, it was a horrible experience where:
    1. We had to switch rooms 3 times, then we upgraded to a suite before giving up on getting a descent bed and some privacy: The beds are old, noisy and the walls do not give you much privacy. Based on other reviews, I think this issue is solved if you take their Ocean Vista suite, which was not available when we tried to upgrade.
    2. Service is mediocre at best.
    3. Property and service are way over priced where we unfortunately paid a premium when we booked thinking that we will get our money's worth and ended up paying a      high premium for the scenery with nothing else to complement it.

What an amazing resort--top of the line rooms and above and beyond service!  The resort is a bit secluded and a bit out off the beaten path from the action on Duval Street, so it's a great place to go if you're looking to relax and soak up the sun either on the beach or at the pool bar.

My boyfriend and I stayed in an ocean view one bedroom suite, which was basically the size of a one bedroom apartment in NYC.  The bed was king size with plush bedding and was basically like sleeping in a cloud.  The concierge service was fantastic and quick - I had called downstairs because we forgot to pack tooth paste and they delivered some up to us within 5 minutes of the call, free of charge.

The beach area is little on the tiny side, so I'm sure during busier times it may be difficult to get a spot on the beach, but the friendly outdoor concierge guys quickly set up chairs and umbrellas for you where ever you'd like.  There are waitresses that walk around the beach area taking drink orders, but I found them to be a little more sparse than the waitresses around the pool areas.  There are two pools and then a large outdoor bar between the two of them.  I really found service poolside as well as at the bar to be great and all of the employees were super friendly and quick.  The food menu at the bar isn't too vast, but had some interesting items like conch fritters and fish tacos!

I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful place in Key West... you can always take a cab over to Duval Street.

So far I'm not impressed. Arrived at 4:00 PM to find out my room still wasn't ready. They said it was a top priority but it still took over an hour for the room to be ready. To top it off, it wasn't the room I reserved when I checked in online. Apparently the VIP manager said the online checkin does not guarantee a specific room. (Then why give me 3 rooms to choose from if it means I don't actually get to choose) on the positive side, the conch fritters were delicious and better then the ones I've had in the Bahamas. The outside bar is great and the bartenders are very friendly. The front desk staff was very apologetic and were very helpful and friendly...the rooms not being ready and the quality of the rooms are obviously due to poor management. I was surprised and a bit disappointed that the manager didn't come out to explain why the room wasn't ready, but they must of had better things to do then take care of their guests. No one even called to see if the room was ok. Not at all what I expect from a 4/5 star hotel. I'd rate this a 3 star hotel at best primarily due to management lack of attention to detail.

The Casa Marina Resort was a huge disappointment! For the price, it is not worth the stay! You pay for everything including parking. You cant take your own drink to the pool. The rooms are tiny, there is no water pressure when showering, the pools are not heated, the elevator in the lobby is so slow, you cannot enjoy the beach because there is seaweed and rocks everywhere, the tv is tiny! We stayed at another hotel for the other two nights that was much cheaper, closer to Duval and a better experience! Say no to the Casa Marina!

Stayed at the Casa Marina during Labor Day weekend and the facility was perfect. The grounds and staff were friendly and made the stay pleasant. Our room was okay/clean but the bathrooms could be a bit larger. Ate at the Sun Sun Grill on premise and the food although good is pricey. Make sure you grab a drink and sit at the fire pits at night with that special someone or rent a cabana during the day. I would recommend staying if you are planning on staying in but if most of your Key West stay is outside of the hotel, you have other options. Finally, they have a ton of events so take advantage - smores night, mojito buy one get one, etc.

We didn't stay here, but after jet skiing for two hours we were starving and dehydrated and decided to stop by the bar for some food and drinks. I cannot express how amazingly delicious this was and suggest that everyone try it immediately.

As far as hotels got this would be my first choice in Key West.  It is a welcome reprieve in Key West from the busyness and cramped-ness of the Duval area.

It is near southernmost point with probably the best vantage of the Atlantic of any resort in key west.  Their "man made" beach is by far the best in the area.  The lobby is indoor outdoor and beautifully modern and sleek.  The pool area is perfection as far as resorts go. Lovely patios, fountains and grounds all with ocean view. There is an ample bar and outdoor restaurant.

I have no idea what people say that being off of Duval St is a con??? Huh?  This is a Waldorf Astoria and when you go to Key West you're on Vacation? No?  The heart of Duval is a 15 min. walk and a 5 min. bike ride. I wouldnt want to be closer, youre close enough, but far away enough to actually relax.

The only thing I noticed was the Atlantic side of Key West is smelly.  No clue why, the ocean stinks for some reason.

I love the historicity of this hotel: the bricks were brought in from Germany because they were a superior quality to out-stand hurricanes and the owner built this hotel to entertain his robber baron friends, gotta love it!

OK, had to work of all times, during Fantasy Fest!!!
It was nice returning to a nice, clean spacious room.  A colleague got upgraded to a patio ground floor, and i was able to use his place to launch my paddle-board.  I asked the hotel manager if it was ok to bring my own board, and they saw no problem.. also, my colleague caught some fish, and the hotel kept his catch frozen for him.  next time I'm going to have them cook it!! It was so cool to wake up and go & launch my paddleboard.  Another colleague, and I ate had lunch at the sunsun bar on the beach, and it was a red snapper blackened sandwhich on a french baguette,- see my pics.  the view amazing,  i am very hesitant to eat at resorts... not unless its the ritz,  or comparable, and this was a great place for lunch.   the value is comparable to around town and the view remarkable and not crowded. Will do again!!

Ok, so I am an honest reviewer take it for what its worth. When i am spending $300+ a night i expect a bar and premium channels for movie purchase. The lobby bar appears to be leased out for private parties, therefore you selections are the 4 stools set up outside the sundries store or the pool bar. Now i love a pool bar during the day but once i am dressed for the evening i am not interested in sitting in the humidity to watch my makeup melt off my face. After a long day in the sun we thought we would order a pay per view movie and relax. Not available! Random for this caliber of a property, so i thought. The staff was friendly and the property is beautiful, not to mention very clean. The rooms are extremely small and no mini ba . Close to everything, but didnt meet the Waldorf standards I am used to.  :(

My friends were staying here and I came for the day to hang by the pool. This place is amazing. On the beach they have a dock that leads you out past the rocks so you can swim in the ocean, there are also tons of hammocks all over the beach that you can lay in. While we were out there the self proclaimed cabana boy, set up our chairs and towels and even cleaned all of our sunglasses. He was super friendly and chatty and although we tipped him he wasn't standing around waiting for it, he just seemed to really enjoy his job. Next we moved to the pool. This was the most amazing pool I have ever been to, not because of the pool, but the experience was top notch. While we sat by the pool the cabana boys brought out treats every 1-2 hours. We got multiple samples tequila sunrises, and they were huge samples. They also bought around watermelon slices, popsicles and cold frozen towels to cool down. This really made me feel like I was staying at a 5 star resort that really cared about their guest being happy and treated well.

Stayed at this fabulous resort this past weekend to celebrate a friends birthday and I will never stay anywhere else in Key West now...

We had an awesome room in the main building which wasn't too far away from the lobby, pool or elevator. It was SO CLEAN and modern, loved it! The lobby is gorgeous. I loved (nerdy) that there was a book in the room about the history of the resort.

From the friendly staff to the frozen towels brought out to the pool for guests to cool down, this place is 5 stars. We had brought our own bottles of champagne and the staff was more than happy to bring us an ice bucket and cups.

The hotel is only about a $10 cab ride from Duval so it's away from all the crazy people at night. It's also one of the only hotels in Key West with a beach. Mind the sea wall at night.... LOL

The only thing I wanted to do that I didn't have a chance to was lay in a beach hammock for the day... Another reason to go back!

The best resort in Key West! There are a ton of tiny hotels around the city, near the Southernmost Point, etc. that I'm sure would provide a comfortable stay, but I would recommend Casa Marina if you're looking for a luxurious, relaxing experience and not just a bed to crash in.

They upgraded us to an oceanview room and the view was spectacular! The resort has its own private beach, as well as two outdoor pools and poolside bars.

You do have to pay a resort fee of around $28 per night on top of everything else.  For that fee, they offer towel service, a free drink and a few other perks. Other than the extra fee, my only gripe is that the elevator is tiny and very slow for some reason. As for parking, you can either do valet ($25/day) or self parking ($18/day), but I'd say just opt to park on the street for free - there are plenty of spots in the area!

There's another Waldorf-Astoria resort, the Reach, which is a slightly cheaper option.

Oh, also free WiFi at Casa Marina! But go outside and play on the beach instead of staying in your room surfing the interweb.

Casa Marina a beautiful hotel steeped in history that takes a classy person to enjoy it. The best part by far is when you walk out to the pool area and take in what is truly a stunning view. They have two pools (one adults only) and one of the few private beaches in Key West. They also have two separate peers to allow you to take in all of the views and get in the water. Service is also top notch. Our valets Cliff and Joe were on the spot, fast, and very curious. True gentleman.  Casa Marina also also does room checks twice a day.
This is a five star hotel but I am giving it a 4 for two reasons. 1) They pull the restaurant inside during the summer. They say it is because of the weather but the real reason is they are trying to make more money. The hotel restaurant is horrible.  The chef is not prepared to cook for a large crowd and they get slammed at the drop of the hat. Prices are a bit steep. And they brought me out a lobster that was soo small I doubt it was legal.  2) There is so much to do in Key West that unless you plan on staying in the hotel it is not worth it.  Just find a place with nice rooms and a nice pool and you can save a lot of money.
Simply put, Casa Marina is great but unless you have kids or just want to lounge around you are better off staying at a cheaper place.

    - Far enough from Duval, that you're away from the noise, close enough you can walk
    - Scuba Steve - enough said
    - combination of pool and beach options

    - Upgraded rooms seem average at best - expected more from the Waldorf
    - Diamond benefits, minimal
    - Didn't really have a lot of wow factor

    In a word: average.

Don't let the esthetics fool you, it's pretty but not clean.  Understand what you are getting....

I am starting to think Waldorf Astoria does not pay their employees enough.  I believe in tipping and I am a good tipper, but this is over the top.  Tipping is expected for everything.  The pool concierge , to have a glass of water, to get coffee in the gift shop.  There are tip jars along with signs attached notifying of their expectation.  It is very tacky.

Hardwood floors - This is the one area that could keep me from coming back to this hotel.  The dark hardwood floors are beautiful however; sleep was not an option because you hear everyone walking above you. At 4:47 am I was woke up to the sound of a suitcase dropped to the floor and then rolled through their room. I received no rest during my 3 night stay due to this issue.  There is something to be said for carpeted hotel rooms.
The bathroom contains actual glasses, but housekeeping doesn't change them out daily.  They are wiped out and placed back on the sink.  Every hotel I stay, I will smear a little dap of toothpaste on the bottom on the glass to test the housekeepers.  Even if it is wiped off the bottom, you can still smell the toothpaste.

It is nice to have a fridge in the room, but the wire racks had crust caked on them.

Our suite was nice sized but in a poor location.  It was on the east side of the property.  We had a limited view of the ocean, saw more of the building beside us.  The patio was large; we had a corner room.  Adding on to the poor location there were lots of palm trees which block 80% of the ocean view.  Looking at all three floors, the palm trees are so large, they blocked a lot of the view on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Since you can't really get in the ocean due to the seaweed and rocks, everyone is at the pool.  All lounge chairs were taken.  For October, it was crowded.

The window sheers have been installed incorrectly.  The metal bar between the curtains does not overlap causing a large gap.  This would be acceptable, but the windows do not have a darken film therefore anyone can see in your room.

Limited mopping in the lobby, lack of mopping in the elevator and the room... forget it.

Every light is bright, there are no lights that can be dimmed.

The bar / sitting / pool area are not cleaned in the evening.  The 7:00 am shift does the pick-up of trash.  Humidity causes stickiness, but when it is compounded by lack of cleaning of tables and outdoor furniture.  You stick to everything.

The night life of Key West is a little over a mile away.  The trolley comes by every  1/2 hour and stops at 5:00 pm.  Therefore going out for night life is not an option for that transportation.  There is bike rentals located on the property, but they start shutting down around 4:00 - gone by 5:00. It is $20 to rent for 24 hour use.  No light is on the bike so riding back in the evening is little dangerous.   Parking of a car on Duvall Street is $10 all day.

The pool concierge staff is selective on who they will assist.  The only way to get service was for me to wear my large diamond and my Tiffany necklace.  I guess they look for people who they feel will tip well.

They allow barefoot bathing suit patrons in the dining area.
2 room suite - a small hallway - door that closes.  Nice for the person who it late sleeper

Our living room contained a large flat screen TV, but because we can see into the rooms around us, others were not as lucky.  Their TV's were large, just not as large as ours.

    The couch is comfortable

The shower has good water pressure, lots of towels are provided

Lots of outlets in the suite to keep the portables charged.

    Bartenders are friendly

    3rd shift lobby crew friendly.

    Free WiFi

Great hotel, the hotel originally opened in 1920's and has incredible character!! Great staff and service. The rooms are great as well. We were there over the Fourth of July 2010 and they have a great 4th celebration. Fireworks right off shore. Best spot to see the KW fireworks show.  I will definitely be back, this hotel is one of only a few that has its own private beach!

STRIKE 4: $25 per day resort fee! I know a lot of places are doing this, but usually you get something for your $25 per day.. Here, you get the use of the pool... really WTF  HELLO mutha fukkahs... the pool??? Really??? Ok, and the gym, with it's ratting worn-out elliptical machines that go ker-plunk in the night literally! and the internet.... well let it be known that my 4G hotspot is faster than there $25 per day internet  HELLO mutha fukkahs... !!!!!

STRIKE 5: $26 breakfast buffet... oh btw, they DO NOT HAVE RESTAURANT and you get his breakfast buffet... ask for 2 egg white omelets and come back 10 minutes later and the gal is making whole egg omelets...  HELLO mutha fukkahs...  ok , I ask her to do over and my wife and I start with fruit... 10 minutes later... she hands me 1 egg white omelet... Ah excuse me ma'am, where's my wife's? Oh I'm sorry sir, but I've been busy with the other now line of 4 people waiting for their order...

Very nice and relaxing location. The beach is great and the staff is exceptional. However, it is a fairly long walk to Duval. The staff shows us a short cut through the Reach Walfdorf property which headed a bunch. I really don't have any complaints. I personally like a bit more action, but this place is great for relaxing. I guess that's why they call it vacation........

This hotel seemed determined to ruin our vacation -- despite being a beautiful hotel with beautiful, well-maintained grounds, it was pretty much the worst part of Key West.

Every problem we encountered -- and I do understand that every hotel has problems from time to time -- was met with incompetence from the staff. There was disinterest in resolving everything from blood on the floor of the room (?!) to getting me a towel at the pool to removing pests from our room. All it takes is an apology and a good faith effort to fix things with a reasonable guest, but they just weren't able to offer that.

With the Waldorf Astoria name behind it, I had expectations from the brand that were not met. I would not recommend to anyone looking for a luxury hotel experience -- or even anyone looking for a pleasant, normal hotel experience, really. We won't be back, and I would really look hard at reviews before staying at another Waldorf-Astoria property -- the name alone is no guarantee these days. I have had much better experiences at the rural Holiday Inn Express we stay at en route to my parents' house, truly.

Went with kids for a week - had a great time. Mostly did pool and lawn activities, the beach - even though private and "large" by KW standards - is nothing special (that's KW). The Barefoot Billy's staff is great and can hook you up with all sorts of sun/water activities.

One thing: if you're Hilton Diamond - don't expect much! No complimentary breakfast and room upgrades are next to impossible. But, you get a whole ten percent off a spa visit! Blah.

Great place for families, off the Duval madness but walking to Butterfly museum and Southernmost point. Also, be sure to take advantage of the neighboring sister hotel (Waldorf too), the Reach. They have their own beach, pool and rooftop patio for sunsets.

This property did absolutely nothing for me. Which is NOT a bad thing, but on the same hand nothing stands out.

The property itself is somewhat sprawling. The rooms are nice with decent appointments. If you are on the top floor and it is windy be prepared to hear the canvas awnings flapping in the wind all night. Also, it is somewhat of a walk to Duval street. Not the end of the world. But, after a day of drinking you may find that five year old inside of you stamping their feet going "I don't wanna!"

There is an outdoor bar onsite that make a very freshing Mango/Rum deal. The bar is centrally located by the pool. They DO have oversized hammocks that are quite fun to lounge in. They do not have a beach persay. However there are plenty to choose from in the 2 x 2 mile area that you are calling home (Key West).

Not a bad experience, just not something that knocked my socks out of the park either.

Did the jet ski tour around the island.  Our guide was Derek.  He was a really good guy who likes what he does.  Drove us all around the Keys and gave us some historical info and fun facts, let us loose in a big area for awhile, and we even saw a bull shark skimming the rocks in a shallow area.  Since we were ahead of schedule he took us through some other keys and mangroves which were amazing.  I recommend a wetsuit in the air is below 70...this happened with us since we had a cold front come through in January.  Totally necessary for the $10.  The guys running the place recommend you tip your guide 20%.  Although I don't normally appreciate when people tell you to tip, Derek deserved it.  And he appreciated it, thanked me, and shook my hand.  Class act. They have an outdoor fresh water shower after the tour so you can briefly just rinse off the salt water.  They advertise you going out to a sandbar to see wildlife so I imagined an actual sand bar which is a small sandy island where you can kinda dock and swim around.  That's what I had hoped for but I guess what they call sand bars are shallow rocky areas where some wildlife is underneath you.  You can't really walk on it because it's too rocky...not to mention a bull shark was down there.  All in all, it was a fun tour and for the price it was worth it.  My gf and I had a great time and I'm no stranger to riding skis.  The tour was about 2 hours and we were going about 40 mph most of the time.  Would recommend again.

My husband and I just returned from a three night, four day stay at Casa Marina, and we enjoyed every moment (our first time on the island)! We highly recommend for a long weekend stay if you are based on the east coast or midwest. It was a super easy trip from Philadelphia.

Our room location was the best part of our stay - we were on the first floor with walk-out access and a small patio directly next to the pool (adult side) and beach. While this may seem like it would get noisy, we were not disturbed once during our stay. If anything, it was all that more convenient to walk right outside of your room and have direct access to the best amenities of the hotel! Quite charming.

The room itself was a standard king room with your basic amenities. Nothing over the top (and honestly a bit small), but it was perfectly suited for our needs. At one point, the fridge decided to stop working, however it was replaced within the hour by a very helpful houseman.

Sun Sun (the beach bar and restaurant) is wonderful. Everything we ate was delicious and their pina coladas are on another level!

All staff were overly friendly and helpful. We were able to be checked in to our room at 1:00 PM (standard 4:00 PM check in), which was a great help on our first day.

The beach and pool are fantastic. They are kept in great shape and the Sun Sun staff make sure you enjoy your time (with staff butlering drinks of the day, popsicles, fresh fruit, and even sunglass cleaners). Be sure to take advantage of the many hammocks scattered throughout the beach, strung between palm trees. Great touch.

While Casa Marina is on the far south side of the island, it is still quite walkable to all parts of Duval St. and the rest of town. However, the other item that made our trip exceed expectations was our renting of a scooter from Barefoot Billy's on property. DO THIS! Scooting around town is so easy and convenient.

All in all, we loved our stay and can't wait to make a return trip!

My heart weeps a little to write this review, for this once magnificent property used to be my favorite, the one I held all others to, the one that I have been clamoring to come back to for the last 10 years.

Well come back I did and be it the new ownership under the Waldorf Astoria brand or  some other twist of bad luck, this property is no where near where it used to be.

It has lost it's charm.  And for that, I weep.

Built in the 1920's by the same architects that designed the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, and the Senate and House of Representatives in DC, this property was once charming and regal.  The  palmetto fans on old pulleys moved the air silently while relaxing on the back porch in rattan furniture, reminding you of a time gone by.  it was purported that Ernest Hemingway himself had stayed at this hotel.  It was grand and elegant.

Fast forward to today where in an effort to make the resort more "sophisticated and modern" (their words) there is a jarring shock of culture between the old lovely building, and the inside and outside areas.  Gone is the comfortable rattan furniture, replaced with silver utilitarian chairs and glass topped tables.  The old palmetto fans have been replaced with sleek ceiling fans so ordinary, so uninspired.

The rooms are a stark contrast to the hotel for they are done in a modern European style with cream walls, dark furniture, a platform bed set on a metal platform that makes so much noise when you roll over it sounds like old bed springs, and a bathroom that has a small shower and a modern sink that with it's offset spigot that makes it difficult to do much of anything.  It's like buying an old home when what you really wanted was something sleek and modern and you try to get the two styles to work together . . .but they never do.

On the positive side- the linens are lovely, the bath products nice, and each room has it's own espresso machine.

But what has really faltered here is the level of service.  From the time I arrived to find my room not ready (it was after the 4pm check in)  to the slipshod lack of service at the pool (it took an hour for a fruit plate and yogurt and another hour for my drink- the service was so bad everyone around me at the pool was commenting on it), to my room not being made up one day until I called at 5pm and then still they forgot to replenish the coffee, this place is hardly what one would call a luxury resort, for it is service that sets a luxury property apart from a regular hotel experience.

Couple that with the lack of restaurants- there is no place to eat dinner at the hotel unless you want bar food, and the breakfast place stops serving on Sundays at 11am, this place is not about the guest.  They may focus on all the weddings that happen each day or the banquets that they are hosting, but for the average guest, the level of service just isn't there.  And it is almost laughable that they charge a $25 daily resort fee for Internet and other "amenities" of which I haven't seen any of them.

I must give a shout out to two exceptional employees that I did encounter during my stay.  They could give lessons to some of the other people who work here.  Megan (who was a server on one of the days I was at the pool) was great and very much on her game.  She went out of her way to take care of me.  And on my final day, I had a great server, LaToya, at breakfast.  She was welcoming, made sure my coffee was never empty and took the time to make me feel welcome in her area.  It was these two employees alone that made this a 3 and not a 2 star review.

The fitness center is located in a building across the street and while it has an average amount of equipment, the room smells moldy, like the carpeting got wet and they didn't bother to change it out.  Not the kind of place I want to spend any time.

Too bad as Casa Marina is located right on the water, the grounds are beautiful and it has the best location in Key West but when you are paying over $400 a night for a luxury hotel you expect that . . .luxury.  And this place has a long way to go.

Goodbye Casa Marina.  I once loved you and all that you stood for.  I visited you when you were a Marriott and then a Doubletree (?).  But this recent reincarnation?  That $43 million dollars that they put into you was ill spent.  For I loved you more before the bungled face lift.  They should have spent some of that money on an employee training program.

What a TRAIN WRECK of a Easter Buffet! Lack of wait staff, Egg cooking area was a mess, and the food was poor to marginal at best.

Always nice to wait 15 minutes for an unseasoned omelet with un seasoned / uncooked fillings to find pieces of non-stick cooking pan in your omelet. One of the Chefs at the property who I think was French (accent) came to our table and asked us how everything was,  I asked  him about the  pieces of non stick cooking pan and he told, me " it was a blend of Black Pepper, salt, and house seasonings. " Apparently he needs glasses or thinks I am stupid. At least he took the plate away and offered a new omelet, at that point I was not interested.

My guests also commented on the generic taste of a lot of items, the oysters in general did taste off as almost they had been frozen and then freezer burnt and lacked flavor in general. Worst oysters I have had in Florida.  I thought I was paying for exceptional cuisine, I was wrong. Won't return to eat or stay at the property. My Mother in Law who will probably call the Waldorf main offices will most likely write a review as well.

Property was beautiful and front desk area employees were very friendly, but we came for the food, figuring paying more than other hotels would be worth the experience, but were extremely disappointed.  I come to the Keys to relax with my family to get away from the city and  food is an important part of it.  Side note we usually go to the Westin and have not been disappointed.

The last evening we had a company on the beach with bar and catered dinner at the  hotel beach.  Beautifully done for a crowd of 150

3 stars only because of the Guest Service and food from Restaurant. The cleanliness was very disappointing. We stayed in a Balcony Room with a beautiful view of the ocean. Please note, not all the rooms face the ocean and they charge a fee if you would like one. The housekeeping was the biggest let down. We would leave are room early in the AM and return by 4PM and our room was still not cleaned. While on vacation this is one of my favorite things, to come back and find everything tidy. The one day we did return and it was cleaned they literally left garbage (houskeeping notes on a paper) ripped up in our shower and neglected to fill the coffee and clean the balcony (we had spilled some juice out there on the table). I had to contact the front desk everyday. Made me uncomfortable I do not like complaining. The Restaurant by the pool was amazing our server Tito who we were very pleased with was very attentive an friendly. The Burger is delicious and the chicken wrap!!! Sandy was the front desk lady who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We ordered room service for our last morning and was really surprised on the food quality, very poor. My husband had pancakes that were not cooked properly and I had the omelet with burnt potatoes ;-(  Really feel the premium price we paid should have been reflected in all aspects of our stay. Will not be returning.

We absolutely loved this resort! Beaches 5 stars, pool side bar 5 stars, room/view 5 stars, Barefoot Billy's bike rental/jet ski tour 5 stars. Only complaint, a bit pricey but everything is on key west... Try and get room 110, it's ground level beach view and access to everything in a minute time. Don't listen to the negative reviews, those poor people obviously don't know how to appreciate a good thing... Don't rent a car, save the money you'll waist on valet parking. Rent a bike, you can lock it up on the property at night. Hilton gold? You'll get two drinks and an app.

Woo Hoo! Casa Marina; it really is a magnificent resort in paradise.

I'm going to be honest with you Yelp, I spent 3 days here and it rained EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. Not even 5 minutes of blue sky, just complete grey overcast. Argh, curse you Mother Nature.

But I didn't let that stop me! Casa Marina is a beautiful hotel with its own private beach surrounded by palm trees. The best part of those palm trees were the hammocks; I'm a big fan of hammocks. (again, it was unfortunately windy so I felt like a kite as I laid in a hammock being blown against the wind)

There's also several pools and a volleyball net to have some fun with. The outside bar is located by one of the pools, wasn't too busy either.

As for the interior, the room was nice. Wooden floors (not sure why I was expecting carpet) and it was well air conditioned. Room service was very kind, as well as everyone in the lobby who held the door open for me every time I entered/exit. All 100 times.

The gym is located across the street and it was empty the three times I went to work out. Free bottled water in the entrance and many free weights to choose from.

    What I didn't like:
-Overpriced drinks, boo! I'm not quite sure that the aqua bartender knew what a Blue Long Island was (I got a somewhat bright green one though.....yay?) BYOB y'all.
-The Gym itself is awesome but I don't like its location. In order to access the gym, you'd have to exit the resort and walk across the street to another building to get inside. Normally this wouldn't be too much of a problem, but it could be a real pain if its heavily raining (hint hint)

Oh, as a digital geek it's my sworn duty to inform you that you receive WiFI during your stay! Which is awesome, especially if you have don't have unlimited internet on your phone (I'm looking at you AT&T!)

All in and all, I really enjoyed my stay and I hope to return (sans rain)

Mixed feelings. Shower had black mold. Pools arent heated. No jacuzzi.  Id say about 70 percent of the staff was incompetent. We didnt get that welcome feeling. It was more like we were lucky to be there. I actually think the attendant at the omelet station rolled his eyes when I asked a question. Management was also very disappointing to say the least. On a positive note you cant beat the beach and hammocks. However i doubt i will stay at this location again. It siimly wasnt the experience I was expecting

We came all the way from California on a Friday in mid-December to get away for a week. Our travel agent (with Virtuoso) was able to get us an upgrade to a suite (if available), which was the case on the 3rd day of our stay. Unfortunately, it did not turn out well, so we left Monday.

Here are the issues we had: We requested a quiet room upon arrival and were given one on the 4th floor outside, facing the area of a wedding party. We requested a change and ended up on the 4th floor inside the building, which was ok. On Sunday we were upgraded to a suite, which was available near the adult swimming pool. It looked nice and spacious. At 11:00 p.m. we were laying in bed and could hear the people in the adjacent room talk as if they were right next to us (and they were not screaming). We could not fall asleep. We ended up switching rooms again at midnight and ended up in a nightmare room. My husband almost slipped on a puddle of water on the floor, which was underneath the a/c vent. Bed springs were squeaking, a/c was super loud, toilet was clogged. Seriously? Next morning we contacted the manager to talk about our issues, who was understanding, but had no other suite available, so we decided to leave. In the meantime, a technician (who did not speak very good English) opened the ceiling tile to check out the a/c and we could see spores of mold hanging there. So disgusting and a serious health concern.  - In general, this hotel was not up to par when it came to service or cleanliness. We noticed red wine spills and clogged toilets in main area, but nobody took notice until we pointed them out to the manager. Kids were screaming in adult pool late at night. Carpets in hallways looked filthy ... The beach itself is small (you cannot take a walk) and swimming was not too much fun because of seaweed and rocks. We have stayed at a lot of 5-star hotels/resorts, but this was one of the worst.

We paid for an ocean view room.  The web site shows an unobstructed view of the ocean.   The first room they tried to put us in was an inside corner room.   The view was a wall and palm trees.  We complained, so they moved us to another room.   Still mostly palm trees but better.   The second night we there,  a loud humming sound vibrated the room.  We complained,  but the noise did not stop.  We left the next morning .

I only gave a three because the hotel is on the beach and is really nice. Other then that this hotel is far from being a 5 Star Hotel. I don't even know where to begin. All I can say is that when we checked out, we spoke to a manager and advised him how disappointed we were with. I travel at lest 40 weeks a year..all over the world and this particular hotel falls very short in many areas. We gave the hotel many opportunities to redeem itself, but this hotel always fell short.

The next time we come to Key West, we will avoid this hotel like the plague and stay at some other place. For what we paid for our rooms, this place did not measure up.

Apologies for being vague. I have an extensive list and I don't really want to publically slam the hotel

We stayed here while in Key West for our honeymoon. We loved our stay here! The rooms were very clean, however, I do wish the rooms had carpet. I get that it is Florida, but I hated the cold feeling all of the time. The bed and pillows were fantastic though! The best sleep we had all trip! The hotel was a bit of a walk to Duval Street, but through a populated area and not bad at all. We also rented bikes through the hotel and rode down there a few times which we liked. One of my complaints is that there is no way to get food from the hotel after 11pm. Seriously? The front desk gave us the number for a pizza place, but it took so long that we fell asleep and missed the pizza. Whoops. We also really liked the beach area and the dock. Loved spending the day on the beach chairs under the umbrella. There was a waiter serving the area and it might have been my favorite day of vacation. The pool area was also very clean, not terribly overrun with kids and the bar area had great service. We did encounter a really rude valet who yelled at us when we rode our bikes through the valet parking lot (which is on the way to the bike racks). He then went off on a rant about how bicyclist are rude and dangerous, which to us, as avid bikers was less insulting and more laughable about what an idiot he was. We complained to the manager because he followed us inside the hotel lobby still ranting and we got free breakfast buffet because of our complaint. While the breakfast was given to us on bad terms, it was really good! $$$ normally, but the waffles were the best I've had and we also really enjoyed the smoked salmon and eggs. It had a wide selection. Overall we had a really nice time and the hotel is very beautiful. When we return to Key West, I might consider another hotel just because it didn't outshine my expectations and I think we could do better, but I wouldn't dissuade someone from staying here.

My stay was work related so I didn't take advantage of any amenities but the experience was great none-the-less.  My room seemed to be in the original part of the hotel on the 3rd floor overlooking the entrance.  The room was oddly shaped but that added to the character.  The floors were wood or simulated wood and the room was tastefully decorated.  It seemed like some parts of the hotel had more "boxy" type rooms where as the original part had more unique rooms.  The staff was very helpful.  There are two pools one for adults and one for families.  I did work by the pool and it seemed like the staff did a good job serving people who ordered food and drinks.  There is some beach but it's nothing like the Destin area if you've ever been there.  The beach is small but they have done a really good job making the area nice.  You can rent jet skis right there on the property.  The property is really impressive outside.  It wasn't crowded when I was there so that made it nice. I'm thinking at the peak of the season it could get pretty crowded in the pool and beach area if the hotel were close to full.  If you have a car there is paid parking right across the street and you could take your chances on finding a free street spot if you're going off season.  I found a good little Cuban deli within walking distance at the NW corner of South and Simonton.  They had good sandwiches and homemade desserts at a reasonable price.  About a 10 minute walk right near the Southernmost Point.

Beautiful hotel! After a vacation rental gone horribly wrong, the Casa Marina was idyllic. Amazing pools and beach with hammocks. Also, went to a relaxing yoga class one morning on the pier. Nice buffet breakfast. Bike rentals. Great drinks at the pool bars and popsicles every afternoon!

I didn't even stay here and am so glad I didn't at this rate. I booked a hotel via hotels.com and after filtering bad reviews of the place being gross I cancelled and booked at the southernmost and couldn't be more happy. Unfortunately I had already booked a couple all day adventurers through the and called them to make sure I could still go since I had purchased through them they said no problem pick your tickets up at the concierge. Went there the night before the all day adventure at sebago, found out the counceirge had left for the night. No problem we said and went back the next morning before we had to be across the island at 9:30 we waited for almost 30 minutes and no one could track him down. So we said they will have our name right? The people at the front desk had no idea so we took a gamble and got a taxi. So once we got there luckily they had our name and we had prepaid 350 dollars. We go outside to get our wristbands to find since we are under 27 we had to pay an additional fee. Since we had to rush over we had used the last of our cash to pay the cab after that we had paid for an inclusive trip with jet skis and didn't get to ride jet skis. When I called and spoke with the conceriege she never asked my age or anything of the matter nor warned us there could be additional charges to be prepared. It was a blatant disregard for detail and little things that set customer service apart at other establishments.

Great grounds and common areas, has some old key west style, amazing sea views from the balcony rooms. Some of the service is excellent, though some of the concierges do not quite provide Waldorf level. Carlos at the front desk is the best - goes the extra mile for guests. Be prepared for the prices..$27 for a simple breakfast buffet seems ridiculous .

Would be 5 stars but hotel is a bit worn down. The hallways are dark and drab. The walls are paper thin and the floors creak. You can hear everything in the neighboring rooms. The view our room had was of the roof and air conditioner, and directly viewed by the rooms across the hall about 10 feet which was ridiculous. The food and drink was good, and eating on the beach with the views was great.

This place is awful!  The pool is the only thing I can say is nice. I will admit I used points for for the night, (and thank goodness)...if I paid any amount of money, I would have asked for a refund and went somewhere else. Please realize, we are in the SLOW season. Please take my advice, don't stay here. We've stayed at the Westin, Hyatt by the marina, Sheraton and even the Marriott on the other side of the island. I'd take either one of those any day. We can't wait to get out of here, (very sad to say that on vacation). Room is tiny and outdated, property is outdated, service is subpar, no shuttle, rooms are old and junky...the whole experience is awful. Please take my word, look elsewhere.

So the management staff upgraded us last night to a MUCH nicer room. Had they given is a decent room in the first place, things would have been better. The toilet wouldn't flush in the second room, so it wasn't perfect, but better. I'm still hesitant to recommend it. It's old and outdated.  There's a good amount of renovations going on so maybe it'll be better in time.

I do not understand the negative reviews for this place as my stay here was damn near perfect!

I stayed Sun-Thurs in an oceanfront suite, and they mean oceanfront, Open the sliders and bam there's the beach, the water, and the cabana boys. It's truly gorgeous here with that old world charm, arched doorways, gorgeous wood everywhere, two beautiful pools and everything else you could ask for.

Maid service were stealth and great coming every morning to fix up and every evening to turn down. Never too late, never too early. Contrary to some reports there is room service here all day long. I tried both breakfast and dinner and both were well done and delivered promptly.

The pool/oceanside bar is really an enjoyable time and you;'ll find it's where everyone gathers to mingle. The ocean breeze keeps it nice and comfortable. There's a great drink selection, wines, beers, frozen drinks and a full menu all day until 10pm.

Massages on the beach, every water or land toy you care to rent, walking distance to some of the best dining on the island, I'm already planning a return trip here!

This hotel was way over priced for the condition. I have stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels and this is definitely not one of them. It was run down and dirty. The room smelled like urine. The bathroom was fulled with mold. Dust all over the room. If you have allergies or asthma not the hotel for you. The balcony had a wasps nest. Oh we had a ocean view... it was more like a side view of the ocean. The landscaping is so high it blocked the little view we did have. Can't even swim in the private beach to many rocks blocking entrance of water. My kids were not going to go down a metal ladder at the end of a dock to get in the middle of the ocean. Sheets, floors, walls furniture and headboard were all dirty. On top of paying for the room there was a $20 self parking price and $30 for valet. I am glad I only stayed one night. I did not even bother complaining I doubt any room was any different.  Check out my pictures so you know im not lying. 1st time at Waldorf-Astoria hotel and the last. I gave it one star because the staff did nothing wrong they were friendly.

Waited 20 min on the beach  (on another occasion) for a cocktail. It never came, nor did the waitress to explain why!  Shower leaks, wifi sucks, rooms freezing, no vent in bathroom and thin walls! I've stayed in nicer Waldorf's. I will list a bunch of issues for you that I will be sending to the manager before I post to TripAdvisor, but this place just always was just one step from "getting it right", if you know what I mean. Maybe Suzi and I are now permanently spoiled after Jumby Bay!
The kids loved Key West! Great place for families with older kids (17,20,22). Restaurants were great (see my Yelp) and we had a ball jet skiing and scuba diving. New year's eve in Key West is over the top! Highlight was watching the dropping of the drag queen in a giant red shoe at midnight! We took a sunset sailboat cruise on America 2.0 and it was worth every penny. I will send you links to my photos soon.

    Good list:

    Buffet breakfast was awesome
Jet ski trip was a highlight even for my wife!
    Beach boys were very helpful
Sheets and pillows were plush and plenty of towels!
    Scuba company was top notch
Rooms were nice, yet housekeeping was spotty.

    Bad list:

Our rooms were not ready for check in until 4pm for one and 5:30p on the other. They gave us no reason until pressed and I was told that "virtuoso guests" got to check out at 4pm and so we had to wait. I then complained and got a $75 credit for my troubles and a 4pm check out myself.
It rained for 2 days and there was only one umbrella between the 2 rooms with none to be found anywhere on property.
Mattress had squeaky rusty springs (embarrassing!) I know, TMI.
Lack of vegetarian options at the hotel restaurants was was a bother for my daughter.
The wifi signal didn't reach the pool or beach.
The lobby bar, usually a great feature of any hotel, was poorly staffed on numerous occassions.
The concierge desk was rarely helpful and actually confused quite often. They seemed overwhelmed by the holiday traffic.
The beach had tons of smelly seaweed wash up every morning and instead of removing it they just raked it and left it in a HUGE pile nearby to smell down wind.
While we didn't watch much TV in the room, it was terrible reception and not HD.
Our room had a view of the next door neighbors balcony at two feet away!
The hallways of the hotel were extremely dark and not well lit.
Garbage remained in the halls and outside of the elevators for hours and hours.
I thought we had reserved connecting rooms and we needed a rollaway bed for the 3rd kid, but not only were they unaware of our request but they could not accommodate on either request.

I know that I sound like I am bitching, but I am really not. We enjoyed our vacation and would probably go back, but next time with eyes wide open.

We are Diamond Hilton Honors members, this is certainly not the first resort we have stayed at.  The letter giving us a choice of special benefits was a nice touch along with the sparkling water.

At first glance you see luxury and think Wow this is awesome. Then you get to your room and sit on the most squeakiest bed you ever dealt with. You're Sure to wake the neighbors when you're intimate.  You turn on the LG TV and think oh,  they must have HD, cool! But all there are is static fuzzy analog channels.  You get ready to hop in the shower to refresh yourself and think,  "damn good thing I'm not a large person" because it was tiny.
You go down to eat dinner, look around and it doesn't look too busy & hopefully there is some vegetarian options other than a pasta or salad.  but alas,  you sit for 10 minutes before the waiter comes and by then you decided to order.  When it finally does arrive, the salad Barely fills you up and it's the size of a bowl of cereal.  The sweetness makes it hard to enjoy it.  So you see steak for the outrageous price of $40. And order it because hey! You're on vacation and it must be good for the price.  You are impressed that the meat looks perfectly cooked and juicy and super easy to cut because the new York sirloin is thick.  You take the first bite,  enjoying it.  Then you take the second,  third and then realized it was extremely bland in flavour.  Not even the red wine glaze helped to make this $40. Steak taste better.  A sprinkle of veggies at best.

You are impressed with the two pools,  one is Supposed to be Adults only. Only to find kids still are in it.  And seriously No hot tub?

Hearing staff argue how "it's not their job"  shows complete lack of customer service.  Low volume or keep it away from guests.

Layout was nice.  Next time we'll stay at the other resort.

You have those high end hotels that exist bc the hotel is amazing. Then you have those that have an amazing environment. This is one of the ones with an amazing environment.

The beach, pool, service, food, and drinks are just top notch. Totally worthy of a Waldorf. The hotel itself isn't that great. It's a bit rundown. My key card worked like every 4 times I used it.

So just know what you are getting. I'd stay here again bc it's a fun hotel with a great location.

Definitely not what I expect from a Waldorf Astoria.

We've been to a lot Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inns during our trip and some of these lower price hotels are way better than the Casa Marina.

Breakfast is not included. When you go for the 24$ buffet, you can choose coffee or orange juice. You get water when you ask for it.
The fresh made omelettes are ok - nothing special.
The selection of fruits is same as in any other Hilton.

Wifi is not available at the pool.

Rooms should be renovated. I can't tell of a smell like others. However, the air conditioning blew directly on the bed.

This hotel is beautiful. I wish the rooms were a little more luxurious seeing that I paid almost 500/night and that didn't even include an ocean or pool view. That's why I didn't give them 5 stars. I think they are a tad overpriced and the fact that one of the concierges at the front told me to go watch the sunset at La Concha and when I got there, the whole top floor where the bar was supposed to be had been demolished. I had to race to Mallory Square to catch the sun setting. The pool and all the servers and concierges down there are wonderful. Super sweet and helpful. The hammocks are a plus!  You can get into the water, but it's a little marshy. If you search around on the different docks, some of the water is more easily accessible. Yoga on the pier for 20 bucks is a great way to start off your morning. They offer jet ski rentals etc as well. The food from the poolside restaurant was good. I had the Mediterranean salad. I dined at the restaurant for breakfast and got the buffet. It was good with an awesome selection, yet again, overpriced. 27 bucks is a little on the pricy side for a breakfast buffet. Other than that, keep up the good work!

I almost gave it 4 stars but in the end decided to go with 3 stars.....I loooove the hotel itself, the history is intriguing, the resort is absolutely beautiful, the ocean views are stunning & the food is out of this world....it's the rooms, the staff and the cost that ruin this place for me. I've stayed here twice....once in the regular rooms which are actually quite charming as they've stuck with the old florida feel of the hotel, however they're extremely small....as in you have to walk sideways to walk around the bed and to get into the bathroom small (I swear I've seen bigger rooms on a episode of "tiny homes"). Also there was a really pungent citrus air freshener smell that they had used and the windows do not open....however they do have a bar and sell tylenol & motrin in the gift shop so we were able to overcome the headaches from the horrid citrus smell....no real biggie :) The second time we stayed here we splurged and decided to go with a suite which are in a separate building that was added on to the hotel later. The suite was big but just average, definitely lacked the old florida charm that the rest of the hotel has which was a bummer. Even more of a bummer was the lack of real cleaning by the housekeeping....sure the beds were made & the toilet paper was folded & all that but there were hairs in the shower & sink & there was poop on the side of the toilet....gross gross gross!! Certainly not worth the $700+ per night we spent! Like I said the food is fabulous, no complaints there & we had a couple of really great waiters....we also had some not so great waiters and a pool boy that we tipped & asked for change who was never seen again lol. All in all its a very nice hotel & has the potential to be a 5 star resort, especially for the Keys, but I just can't get past the dirty rooms :(

    Beautiful resort.

The service, private beach, seaview rooms, breakfast and pool bar are awesome. There is a small sea sports shack on the property and you can rent waveriders and even take an island wide tour on the wave riders.

Key West can be very packed and when you need to escape Duval street and the packed bars, you come back here and find a hammock under the palm tree. I do this every nite after dinner and just unwind with a cigar and my beer under the stars...

This is how key west should be.. laid back.. peace and quiet.

You pay a premium for the Waldorf Astoria name & you expect to get a lot out of the stay for the price.  I travel a lot for work and am a Hilton Diamond Member so this stay was practically free.  We still paid the resort fees, taxes, and for parking everyday (are you kidding me) which came out to about $85 for 3 days...  But there were a few things besides this stuff that disappointed me for sure that I just don't feel like my family should've been dealing with at a resort.

We made the reservation 2 months before our stay.  I let the lady know we were coming down for our wedding and asked if we could be upgraded.  I'm sure she hears this alot... And sure enough she said a lot of couples come here for weddings and the hotel loves to "take care" of those guests when they can.  Understood.  But like any other hotel you have to ask for a room upgrade when you get there and you might get one if there is one.  There wasn't.  Even at Diamond with Hilton...  So for our wedding we had a really basic room the first night that overlooked the roof of the valet area.  In that room, the fridge didn't work...

On the 2nd night they upgraded us to the room I thought I'd booked from the get-go.  That one was legit!  It had table outside & a pool/ocean view.  That made my wife and I happier.  That fridge wasn't working either.  A technician came to the room and unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in and it reset.  I'm like, couldn't you have just told me to do that over the phone?  Our beers spoiled and they didn't offer anything up.

The other thing that kinda upset me and my party:  My mother in law and father in law to be thought that they would have breakfast one day.  That was a $50 mistake.  There was no sign posted by the door they went through so they entered, grabbed a plate of food and then had a waitress come by with a check and they almost crapped their pants.

Anyway, I might give them another shot...  There is also a Waldorf Astoria Resort called The Reach we might go to next time instead.

Felt relaxed the whole time even though it was hotter than hell down here. I loved the feel of the hotel and the staff. We had wonderful drinks by the pool and lots of free Popsicles. The lemon mint water was a nice touch to cool you off too ! They have a tiny beach you can walk to and take a dip in the ocean. Hammocks at night listening to the wind in the palm trees and the ocean fantastic. If I stayed in Key West again  I would definitely stay here as long as the prices weren't too crazy.

Awful experience for the price. This is my 3rd trip to casa marina and the Waldorf has let it go. It's really run down and dirty. We left key west two days early because of the conditions at this hotel.

With good service, this fancy beachside hotel offers great views of the ocean at all times of the day. What you pay is worth the quality of this hotel.... I'd recommend it to anyone willing to pay a bit extra for a quality stay on-island.

The weather in the Northeast has been horrible, so to come to this oasis of warmth and find the views, palm trees, clean and bright resort for our conference was amazing   Were here four nights - our room overlooked the side street, but was very quiet and clean.   Layout of the room was odd - but had a nice mini fridge, water, buckets, clean glasses.  Shower had amazing water pressure, but the bathroom was tiny for such a large room.  Great buffet breakfast for our group - seminar room was spacious and well ventilated.  The beach is a gem - the staff helps you with the lounges, putting on the towels and offers frozen washcloths, water and beach side drink orders.  At night, we would gather near the fire pits, or in the many hammocks, talk, have more drinks and just relax.  Quick walks to the Southern most point, downtown Duval and for larger walks, take the trolley.  Barefoot Billy's is on the property for bike, jet ski rentals.  Super location, great staff and will definitely be back!

It's a very beautiful hotel, with an amazing view on the beach. I celebrated my girlfriend's birthday there, and they did a good job preparing the surprise in the hotel room, although it was all there much sooner than I wanted them to be.

The food quality of the breakfast and dinner were really awesome, but I have to admit that it's very pricey to dine there.

All in all, I would recommend it if you wish to pamper yourself with a luxurious and peaceful getaway by the beach with an amazing view.

Good service and beach views. But the pricing is confusing. On the menu it says $14 mojito (available in signature shaker). We didn't know "available in signature shaker" means it will cost you $28 if you want it in a signature shaker.  It was not indicated on the menu and no one explained to us in advance. That was pretty upsetting.

We stayed at Casa Marina for our wedding this past weekend (3/14/15) and our stay was absolutely fabulous! The service throughout the hotel was on point! Hanging out by the pool was relaxing and fun. The boys in blue by the pool (Gaylan, Mark, and all the others) made our trip as they were always extremely helpful - constantly coming around to check if we needed anything or bringing around sweet treats. We will never stay anywhere else in Key West! A perfect getaway for couples and families alike!

Really disappointing.  We are Hilton HHhonors members.  Booked this room as a luxury during our stay in the Keys for a friends wedding.  Thankfully we are staying at DoubleTree for the remainder of our time here.

Upon arrival the lobby was a mess!  People everywhere, no organization.  I was greeted appropriately, but the person helping me allowed a very rude guest to interrupt because her request FOR A TAXI just couldn't wait!  The staff person took her request prior to finishing what we were doing.  Come on!

My stay was reviewed and I was told my room was changed from two doubles to a king.  Absolutely no problem there...until I arrived at the room.  The tables are falling apart.  It looks like water damage in the bathroom has caused them to install some sort of panel in the ceiling.  The room is handicapped accessible.  Great that this option is available, but not necessary for me.  I made my reservations ahead of time and I expected the luxury that the price per night should offer!

I can hear an out of control dog barking in a room near me.  It's incessant.  Is this even a dog friendly facility?

The grounds are beautiful and the staff was otherwise helpful and friendly which is why I give it two stars.

If you should every reserve a room here, make sure you can specify your room upon booking.  Not worth the price.  Also had to pay 20 per night for parking.  I have stayed at the Pegasus International Hotel on the main strip for 1/4 of the price with rooms that are nicer that this room that I have been placed in.  We will never book here again.

We booked this property because we were looking for a Waldorf Experience. What a disappointment! From check in to check out this place fell short of even the most basic hotel expectations.

First of all - check in. When we checked in, the woman who checked us in told us to "go around the corner - go up six steps and take the elevator." All with our luggage in tow. There was no offer to have someone help us with our bags and lugging 50 pound bags up six steps with a child in tow was a unpleasant start to our vacation. Also, we asked her about the amenities on the property. After all, we were paying $25 for a "resort fee." She told me to go see the concierge ( stand in line) but if I came back after 8 PM she could answer my questions. HUH??!!

So we go to the concierge, wait in line and you can imagine my shock to find out that $25 fee covers NOTHING. The paddleboarding is another $60 per person per hour??!! Everything cost more money - bikes, kayaks, etc, and the rates??!! After spending $400+ on a hotel room plus $20 to park our car and $25 for a "resort fee" they cant throw in some free amenities?? Unbelievable!

Now lets get to the room. For $400 one would assume this has to be pretty spectacular right?? Nope. Check out the scenic view of the parking lot that we paid for. Oh, and if you enjoy hearing all of your upstairs AND next door neighbors conversations word for word, all night, you will LOVE this resort. We could hear the couple next to us all night - as in "honey, have you seen my ____" converstions like they were standing next to us. I have stayed at one star properties with better insulation. Oh and you might assume our $400 a night hotel had a TUB ? Well you too would be wrong. We had a shower, that's it.

The one amenity that we did use was the fitness center. The good news is that it was clean and had some decent equipment. That is where the good news ends. They have a refrigerator, filled with luke warm water. Its broken and the water was pretty toasty. Again, a four star resort charging these astronomical prices should have a working refrigerator. We went there in the morning. Unknown to us ( since the check in lady couldn't be bothered to give us a property map and we had to spend ten minutes finding someone to give us directions ) the fitness center is off the property. Which means that you get to walk, in the dark, to this building while some shady characters were outside. it did not feel safe at ALL. Also, the a/c was off, so it was nice and stuffy in there.

Overall, I have never wanted to dispute a credit card charge before but I feel this property was SO misstated in the advertisments. It was just a awful stay and should be avoided at all costs. If they were charging $100 a night I might not be so upset but to be out over $500 to deal with this?? No way. Huge disappointment.

Ideal for luxury travelers accustomed to Manhatten/Euro service. Loved it. Very elegant casual resort! Best on the isle!

This hotel has an understated elegance that envelops you the moment you arrive.   Quaint and adorable on arrival, the interior lobby exudes charm in its simplicity.   Then, you glance through the oversized windows.... and inhale the most stunning views that immediately whisk you into vacation mode.   Two oversized pools flank a long walkway, surrounded by palm trees that leads directly to a private beach.  The serenity overtakes you and.... you are immediately relaxed.

Had a fantastic time! Loved our room (ocean vista with private terrace overlooking the reflecting pools and ocean backdrop), lovely service (Scuba Steve is so sweet and hospitable!! Concierge Kathy and Stacey were quite helpful).

Jetski tour with Tom was amazing!! Arranged through the concierge, left from the hotel pier. Had a spectacular view of the new navy ship, encountered a pack of breeding dolphins, and a relaxing time at the sand bar. Very nice.

Highly recommended. Ideal for luxury travelers who are used to Euro/Manhatten style amenities and service but would like to see the casual styling of Key West.

I checked into the hotel and in hindsight should have raised a stink about the stink in the room and other issues.  However, upon arriving in Key West there was only time to drop luggage off, change clothes and head to a meeting.  I am an elite Hilton member but clearly was given what must be the worst room in the hotel.  The room is wall-to-wall bed.  There is no room for a desk and any of the plugs/outlets that would go along with a desk.  If you want to plug in your phone, computer, etc. you are forced to look for any available outlet behind the furniture or use the outlets in the bathroom.

There is not enough room for a side table on one side of the bed because they have crammed the bed into the room and practically against the wall.  There is no room to put luggage on the floor to even unpack.  The bathroom is almost as large as the bedroom---so if you want to unpack in the bathroom there might be room.  The fan in the bathroom runs NON STOP and cannot be cut off; but note it is not a normal bathroom fan in that it roars with a high-pitched squeal.  Despite the fan running constantly however it doesn't take away the stench of urine.  The wi-fi in the hotel works sporadically if at all.  There are VERY limited television options.  Despite asking for a room far away from an elevator, I was given a room right beside the elevator.   Clearly Hilton status does not mean anything at this Hilton property.

Note I have stayed at this property before and had a good experience.  In fact I was looking forward to returning.  However, my experience at the hotel during this trip leaves a lot to be desired--especially given the steep rate.

This place has an amazing set-up for relaxing in the sun and getting your drink and tan on. The drinks are a bit pricey - but yep, you're paying to get your very own adult-only pool. So worth it, as the "relaxing" part of that first sentence I wrote wouldn't be possible without it. The beach is right there too, just in case you want to get all salt-watered up. The beach chairs are mostly comfortable, though there are a few that have seen better days. Those need to get removed and replaced with a newer model - kinda like the two old ladies, each with their own 18-year-old boy toy (i.e., new model) playing in the pool. I almost wanted to tell them that the kiddie pool was on the other side of the complex, but I held my breath. It's a first, I know. In all honestly, was so entertaining I couldn't keep my eyes off of them. But in swooped Lisa with another drink, and back to relaxing and napping I went. Speaking of Lisa - awesome waitress. She was the only one out by the pool area (a little weak that they didn't have more wait staff out by the pool though, really) and she remembered what you had and made suggestions to save you a penny or two. She even had a sense of humor. Zing! If I didn't have my friend with her hotel points getting us a spot at this place, I probably wouldn't b able to stay here. But hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Haven't heard that saying in a while, have you? You're welcome.

Great resort, great staff, great amenities. One area of improvement would be the attitude of the night shift outside bar staff....not very friendly, not very attentive. That is the reason this isn't a 5 star review.

Stop in and see Tom the Bike Guy at Barefoot Billy's. Super friendly and extremely helpful. He'll make recommendations on great rides you can take and also recommend a secret spot to lock up your bike while on the property.

Breakfast Buffet is completely off the hook. I highly recommend it.

Pool staff (Aquamen and Porters) are top notch.

Casa Marina Resort, a beach front property in Key West is beautiful! Hubby and I stayed here for 4 days for his company's retreat! While the rooms rates are pretty pricy, the resort offered such a beautiful location close to the beach, and a short walking distance (about 10 minutes) from the central shopping/restaurant areas.

Getting to Key West was difficult...all flights from Miami to Key West was cancelled due to the weather, so by the time we arrived to the hotel via charter bus, it was late (11pm), which left us little room options. We ended up getting a room that did not have a great view...literally it was a view of the parking lot. The room however, was clean, spacious, and overall nice. Housekeeping came every morning and made sure to clean/tidy our room.

Food choices at this resort is limited and very pricey! There was only one restaurant available on the resort. We ended up going to other restaurants in the area to satisfy our pallet.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Marina. They have friendly and courteous staff and would definitely stay here again.

Just spent the weekend here for a wedding. It is a beautiful location. We had a first floor room Oceanside so we could walk straight on to the beach. Made for a great setting for wedding pictures and the weather was just right. You don't always get the cool breeze in key west. Nothing exceptional about the rooms. It's all about the location. The other good news is it is in walking distance to some really good restaurants. For some reason they only served breakfast at the restaurant that has indoor seating.... And lunch and dinner were at the outside beach bar area. It was ok for this time of year but being from Florida. I don't want to sweat when I eat. Maybe it's a seasonal thing.

This is my third time here and I think I'm done. Right now as I type, I'm on the balcony overlooking the beautiful ocean..... Smelling smoke. Yes, this resort still allows smoking on patios. It's disgusting and fills the room when you open your door wall. For a Waldorf, this hotel doesn't hit the mark. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, but I've stayed in nicer appointed rooms in a Hampton Inn. If you do stay here, make sure to ask for first floor on the west end. The rooms are newer and have beautiful lanais. Food here is okay, but very pricey for the quality. Also, no hot tub. I think I'll try the Westin....

Firstly,  this is a 4 star hotel and likely the nicest in Key West. It is pretty affordable for the service and quality of the hotel. When coming to Key West, expect a laid back atmosphere and not over the top luxury.

    - two fantastic pools, one of which is adults only (MAJOR plus for me).
    - Alcoholic drink samples every day at noon at the adult pool.
    - Great pool side food service and restaurant/bar.
    - Valet parking and quick cab service.
    - Off of the hustle and bustle of Duval St.
    - Great fitness center with new equipment, towels and water.
    - Very helpful Concierge that will book anything for you and make recommendations.
    - Breakfast buffet with delicious fresh fruit, omelet bar, pastries and meats.
    - Espresso machine in the rooms.
    - Gift shop with souvenirs, snacks and wine.

    - Only wifi in the lobby. It is free, but you have to sit there to use it.
    - Service can be inconsistent. We had a few servers and attendants that were less than thrilled to be there and refused to make simple accommodations.
    - The walls are very thin. I could hear doors opening and closing at night, people talking or in the bathroom very easily.
The rooms are basic (we had an oceanfront room) and not very spacious. The beds are squeaky and not comfy.
    - there was a funky sewage smell in our bathroom the entire trip and the rooms had a faint odor as well.
    - not within comfortable walking distance for most to main attractions.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay because we knew we weren't going to a place where luxury was necessarily a desire. This is a very laid back town and hotel. It is sufficient and better than average for the price you pay.

I stayed at the Casa Marina 4/12-4/15/15.  Overall the stay was O.K.  The hotel had a friendly front desk staff,  we had a nice ocean and pool view, the grounds are well kept, and our room was clean, but I expect that from any hotel.  This place just didn't have the same feel as other "luxury" hotels I've stayed at (i.e. Four Seasons Maui, Bardessono, Ritz Carlton Philadelphia, etc.).
They charge Waldorf Astoria prices, but don't really stand up to the quality and service of the Waldorf name.  There were dirty towels that sat outside our room all day, there are no drawers in the room to put your clothes in so we couldn't unpack the entire time we were there, it never felt like anyone was going above and beyond.  I never felt pampered here like I have at other resorts.  In my opinion, the cost was not worth the experience.

I agree with most yelpers about Casa Marina's cleanliness, it's a little bit lacking.... On the bright side, the room we stayed in was incredibly spacious and the view was amazing (right on the water).

The service was great. Everyone was very nice and we were provided beach chairs in the morning. It was awesome. The little beach is decent, the pool(s) are VERY nice and spacious! But one thing we were kind of bummed about was that they don't have jacuzzi's. Oh well, no biggie... I mean it's pretty hot in KW right? Who needs to sit in a boiling tub.

Short walk from Duval street. TOTALLY do-able but it can be pretty harsh in the mid-day sun.

One thing we really enjoyed was the in-room NESPRESSO machine. Every morning we used it. Score!

While this hotel seems to have a wonderful property I didn't find it to be worth the value we had paid for this place.  I had actually acquired this hotel through a Hotwire purchase which has rated it at 4.5 if I recall correctly and for the most part if you are going to Key West in the summer the demand for hotels is pretty high.

Regardless of the prices and quality of other places I have stayed at in Key West while this hotel is aesthetically pleasing it doesn't really do it for me as far as SOME of the services.

I found the front desk to be quite hospitable and welcoming as well as professional, polite and generally happy to serve their guests.  I did however find some of the staff in the pool area to be downright rude.  I get that this resort is or seems to be a higher class place than the HoJo or Super8 but what you try to be and what you become are two different things if you hire staff that are rude and unaccommodating.

What I am getting at is we went to the pool area in our bathing suits.  We left our wallets in our room and I didn't happen to have any cash on me.  The pool area has towels there at a station and there is an attendant handing them out.  My wife had asked for a towel and the attendant came out of the station and placed it on the lounge chair my wife was at nicely.  Well at that point I suppose he expected a tip and unfortunately for us at the time we were not in a position to oblige.

Should I have known better to bring some bills with me to the pool area?  Not something I normally do but I could have compensated the gentleman later.  Instead when my wife had asked for an ashtray he had something to the effect "you know where they are".  I have to say that for a place that is trying to offer the type of service that one would perceive based on the price we are staying to be guests that there would be a little more professionalism there.  I didn't take nice to how my wife was treated that particular day.

Besides that unpleasant experience the room we were given really was just the size of a normal hotel room.  The furnishings and decor seemed modern but weren't really something I would have expected from a hotel with the name, price and ritz they seemed they thought they had.  I guess what I am saying is if I hear Waldorf I am going to think luxury, service and basically high expectations for the amount we are paying to stay at a place like this but I'm afraid to say it fell well short of my expectations.

The pool, hammock areas are pleasant but the beach is really muddy, rocky and not well kept.  The public beach by the Sheraton where we stayed another time is much more well taken care of.and it feels like you are on a tropical island.  I found it pretty amazing that the beach front here at the Casa Marina doesn't even come close to the public beach as far as grooming and such.  Bahia Honda state park which is about a half hour to 45 minutes away is one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to but not really this place.

If you're looking for a nice looking hotel this is the place.  Unfortunately for my experiences looks were deceiving as I felt the service wasn't up to expectations as well as the resort overall and even the room quality we received.  It seemed to me that is was just hyped.

I found the Sheraton to be much more spacious, friendly, accommodating (we had a mini suite) for less money, free parking and a beautiful public beach right across the street.

Casa Marina was simply overpriced for what we got I'm sorry to say.

This was our first family dinner in Key West, all five of us together for the first time in 4 years. We were looking forward to dining here because this is one of the most spectacular properties on Key West. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning with it's vintage opulence and palm tree lined path straight to the ocean. This is a place you'd dream of staying but we were only here for dinner.

About that dinner, it was an utter disaster.

Our waiter had no idea how to properly care for his tables and be attentive. He would disappear for long periods of time and left us to fend for ourselves. We would have to ask for things such as bread or water multiple times before having them finally arrive at the table or sometimes not arrive at all. My drink order for the evening was a white sangria which was so delicious I would have gotten several more had I actually been able to find our waiter. My dinner was the Mahi  Mahi and it was overcooked. The fish was dried out and barely edible. Down here I have very high expectations for any fish dish and they are usually met, this was not one of those times. It was such a disappointment that we decided not to bother ordering dessert since we couldn't find our waiter anyways. This dinner was a definite miss. If you are looking for a gorgeous view, this place has those in spades but do yourself a favor and dine anywhere but here.

This beautiful property hotel is a true gem!
The staff was very professional and very helpful. Their restaurant has great choices on the menu, I loved the Mediterranean flatbread, great presentation, great size, it can be shared! Also loved all the treats they bring out to you while you are at the beach or sunbathing at the pool.

Love all the amenities and especially the beach service we receive here!  We are always taken care of at the Casa Marina, the staff is amazing....always professional, kind and pleasant.  Mark goes  out of his way to make sure we have everything  we need and and to make sure we are happy.  Love this place and all the staff!

The hotel is beautiful, staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. It is expensive but I think it is worth it.
I only have one negative bit of feedback and that is the pools are a little to small for my liking, having said that it hasn't put me off planning my next trip back here.

I never leave yelp reviews. However, our experience here was one that you should never have at a resort of this price. We stayed here for a wedding and during the night of the reception several members of the wedding party left their suit jackets (which had personal items in the pockets) in the dining area. The next morning when we went to retrieve our belongings everything in the pockets was missing - in our case we lost $750 worth of sunglasses. This also happened to the bride and the groom that had their wedding at this hotel!  When we raised this issue to the hotel management the response felt like "tough luck".

After the trip I received an email survey requesting feedback about my experience. Obviously, I conveyed the same concerns and events in the survey which prompted a response from the "head of security". I spoke with the head of security about what happened and he promised to follow up. After several days of radio silence I emailed him asking for an update to which I received no response.

Aside from the catastrophic security situation at this hotel and the complete disregard for the safety of their customers' belongings, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation and menu upgrade.

If planning a trip to Key West save your money and time and do not bother with this place.

Why Waldorf? Is Hilton not good enough that they have to put their signature brand on this property???
This place is well located at Key West. It has been recently purchased by Hilton for more than 500 million US$!! Maybe they have VERY good plans for this property... So far not a Waldorf!!
The property is very nice and features a private beach. Please note that the beach has A LOT of rocks and coral to enter. They do have some stairs at a pier they also have which is convenient for many. Reality is that you can go in the beach but not easy! They also have 2 pools... One for adults and the other for family in general.
They do have smoking sections in 1 of the 2 beach restaurants... They welcome cigars as well. The beach area is all smoking. Service throughout has been very good. The property is not huge, but accommodates very nice.
They have a small hotel shop where you can buy coffee, snacks and even a light breakfast!
The brach restaurant is quite good, actually very good! They have a very nice burger and favorite, a grilled mahi mahi in a taco... If you are on the healthy side, just eat the filet which is easy to do. Soft drinks are refillable which is nice as they are pricey!!!
Now the rooms... Here is where I would think they will spend most of their "incoming" money to make it a true high end property.
Rooms are dated, they lack character, uninviting, cold, they sure need a good decorator and even maybe an architect to change the layout of these rooms. The wall outlets are very poorly located. They even had some in a desk and the main cables are cut off! I have to charge my phones, ipads etc and leave them lying on a chair or floor... We even had to unplug a lamp... And very much needed as once more these rooms lack light. Bed mattress is ok, pillows are average and the duvet well below average.
Bathroom, very small, seems to be remodeled, but more a make-up than a remodel... They took out the tub and put floor for a shower, this makes it very narrow and even uncomfortable to take a nice shower. Amenities are Ferragamo, which is nice. Towels are also on the above average side.
They have a nespresso machine in the room with several capsules... This is nice.
The tv's are flat screen new, but the image is terrible... I have been told they would fix this.
So, all in all, I hope Hilton lives up to their Waldorf and make this a better place to come as it is an "escape" from us who live in Miami.
The valet parking is quite nice and self park is 20$ where valet is 30$, so you decide.

First time staying here. When I'm in Key West, it's usually for work. I've stayed at the sister hotel, The Reach many times before so when The Reach wasn't available, I knew booking at Casa Marina would be a good choice.

Pull up...it's great. If you can walk 150 feet, self park and save $15. You're still shelling out $20 to self park but if you're there for an extended period of time, why valet?

As a HHonors Gold member, I usually get a bump when I'm at The Reach. Not so here. But it's no biggie. The room was nice and comfortable and the TV was huge.

Outside, it's gorgeous. Two pools. One for kids and one for "relaxing adults". I'm not sure the age someone is deemed a "child" but I have a 9 year old and a 14 year old. Both well behaved. I wondered while I was there if I'd get the boot from the adult pool if I had them with me. But eh...inconsequential since we'd probably be exploring anyway.

The beach there is rocky but gorgeous with a nice amount of hammocks. They've got Barefoot Billy's they deal with. They have a jet ski tour. I didn't do it this time but I did my last visit. If you want to do something fun other than rent a jet ski and have a certain area to play in, do this tour!  It was super fun.

I took only a couple of pics with nothing really worth while except...the absinthe!

The first time I've seen absinthe at a hotel bar. Apparently Wednesday they have an absinthe party. Be careful with the stuff. It's strong and I've had it several times but no Van Gogh moments. It's just a spiritual experience and the bar staff does a great job implementing this.

Overall, this place rocks. It's a great place to stay. Staff was great. What little food I ate, it was delicious. I'll definitely bring the family here.
