We chose the Hyatt for the location, which is walking distance to everything.  We had a gulf view room, 3112, which made for a lovely sunset view from the balcony.  Also interesting people watching as lots of locals came to sit on the little beach and pier.  A better view than from Mallory Square actually.  The room and bath design were so comfortable I made notes for our own remodel of the integrated shelf system behind the bed, the lighting there and recessed in the huge walk-in shower with lovely sea glass mosaic tile.  Kudos on a very well thought out job.  We ate breakfast at Shor.  The omelet was fine but the  french toast was leaden and should be avoided.  Drinks and bites at the outdoor bar were good.  Mark at reception was very welcoming and made our stay extra pleasant.  Don't miss a tour of the Truman White House and hope to get Jimmy as your guide as he has many personal anecdotes to make the history come alive.

Nice location, haven't seen any hotel staff for over a day. When I did see hotel staff and asked a question, they were rude. There was an incident where my son and niece slipped on the bathroom floor because of the leaking shower. We contacted the front desk and asked them for another room since it was unsafe for the kids. The person over there told us that she would get back to us. After waiting 30 minutes, we called back and she replied that she forgot. Can you believe that?!? At least lie about it, but don't tell the customer you forgot!! Then she said we can get another room but it'll be an extra charge. Huh?!? but she said she was going to talk to her manager about waiving it. Just to be on the safe side, I think I'll check up on it later. The pool was nice, Took a dip, went up to the room and asked for a few towels. Towels came up, wifey took them from housekeeping while I was in shower, came out and guess what? Blood stains all over one of the towels!!! Yikes! Umm... I probably won't be coming here again. If you decide to, beware!! Love the keys though. Rent a moped!

I really like this hotel. It's close to everything, including Duval Street and the Marina. And all the water activities are close by. Jet skis right by the pier of he hotel and snorkeling a quick walk away. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are turtle ponds as soon as you walk out of the main lobby. The rooms are awesome. They all have a cute little balcony that surprisingly gives a sense of privacy and the decor is really nice. Love the standup shower with the rain shower head and the fact that there is a huge fan right over the bed. The pillows are not so comfortable. Probably need to change them more often. The pool is a little small but still great and both pool and jacuzzi are open until midnight. Breakfast is really good and Dan was great. Very attentive and friendly. The Mojito Bar is nice too but drinks are a little expensive.  I would definately recommend this hotel.

By far my favorite hotel so far. Yes, partly because of the lovely views and how close to everything is was (duval street is just a block away) but everything was just perfect in my opinion, from the decor to the pool and especially the bathrooms for the bedroom (now, I realize thats an odd thing to comment on but I just loved the use of open glass door standing showers-just lovely!). I loved everything and all the staff was incredible helpful and welcoming. Since our trip to key west was a spur of the moment thing we only spent and night and left the next day wishing we could have spent our entire vacation there. Next time I'm in key west, I will definitely be staying there.

I really enjoyed this hotel.  We had a lovely set of rooms, and balcony with a great view.  We also had a very comfortable bed.  I had my best meals in Key West, in the hotel's dining room.  It was an easy walk to Duval Street, the Conch Tram, and Mallory Square.  We were also within walking distance of the Truman Key West White House.  The single complaint I have with this Hyatt, is their bar, where the only red wine available by the glass was a Merlot.

South Beach Style in Key West!
Good mix of Europeans and U.S. guest. Lobby clean and stylish.  New Spa Jala and New Gym.
Rooms: well done and the use of tiles perfect. I liked the views from Buildings 2 and 3. Building 1 faces Key West Marina/Historic Seaport.  Downside: One restaurant is closed (25 Sep 08). 2 other places (on-site) to consume food and drinks. The staff was wonderful. Overall a great place to holiday. Relax and Enjoy!
Bad side: the restaurant not open and the

If you are looking for a small, quiet hotel with a miniscule beach, near the strip of Duval Street, but hidden away..... this is it! What a jewel!! This place has been completely renovated and is the perfect place for a warm winter rejuvenation.

They have a poolside bar "the Blue Mojito" with colorful wicker sofas for lounging with your drink.

"The Shor" restaurant with outside ocean view seating. (They could have turned down the lighting a bit in the evening for better ambience.)

A small gym and spa; lots of activities including jet skiing and snorkeling.

I love Hyatts and their i Home i pod clock radios...you can play your own music during your stay.

Great hotel!

I stayed here with my boyfriend for his birthday. I stayed 3 nights and I can literally say  I had no complaints. It has to be the best location on the island considering you have all the resort features as well. You can walk to mallory square, duval without any inconvenience everything is in walking distance, unless you want to see southernmost point which other than the landmark itself and the beach theres not much on that side. Everything to do and see is right by this hotel. I could walk to the stands book my tours walk back to hotel within a minute. We docked right onto the jetski tour from the hotel which was awesome as well. Everyone was so friendly everywhere we turned. The room was BEAUTIFUL. We had the prettiest sunset view ever, View was spectacular, clean and worth every penny. Yes it was pricey to stay, but in Key West its all about location, and walking distance. Noone wants to drive place to place, its all about walking and sight seeing which you can easily do from this hotel. When I visit KW i will deff stay here again!

Great Location and Friendly Staff.  If I ever go back or have friends going to Key West I would recommend this Hotel. It was in walking distance to everything and we rarely had to use our rental car.  The room was a little bit smaller then what I am used to but it was very clean and quiet.  The staff is extremely friendly and open to striking up a conversation with you.

We had our wedding here.  Everything was taken care of very well and looking back I can not tell you if anything was missing.  The hotel reception was very spotty when some of our guests arrived, but JP fixed that problem the next morning and complimentary wine and fruit was sent to the room to apologize for the issues.  You can't really fault the hotel as a whole for some reception people that don't have a clue.

Food was outstanding at our reception.  The rooms are a tad bit small, but they are laid out well and lovely.  Bathrooms are some of the nicest that I've seen in a long time.

We will stay at the Hyatt again for our many returns to Key West.

What an amazing hotel. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but we happily ate lunch and went in the pool for a while.  The location of this hotel is great; it's overlooking the water and right between the harbor walk and Duval Street.

The room was worth the wait. We've got a huge soaking tub with a spa shower. I came armed with Lush bath stuff, so I'm in heaven.

We went to Shor (the Hyatt restaurant) every morning for breakfast overlooking the docks, and visited here for dinner 2 nights during the time we were there.  The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly, and they got to know us pretty well.

I highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for a week on a business vacation (a bonus in vacation form with ~4 hours of meetings) and absolutely loved it. Our room was gorgeous, the shower was amazing (walk-in with sea green glass tiles and a rain showerhead, love!), and the view was to die for. The staff was friendly, the spa was great (highly recommend the hot stone massage), the food was delicious, and the location can't be beat. I just about had a heart attack when I saw the max price for the room, and was definitely glad I wasn't footing the bill. We did notice a lot of little ants in the bathroom and on the TV stand, but they didn't really bother us enough to make a difference. Tip: pick up some snacks or quick breakfast items (yogurt, bananas, oatmeal) plus a bottle of rum and some juice to save a few bucks on the high food prices onsite. The service by the pool was a little slow, so plan accordingly. Overall, highly recommended!

The Hyatt Key West is one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of visiting.  Beautiful rooms and grounds, friendly staff, and an absolutely perfect location combine to make this hotel a true gem.  My husband and I spent three nights here over Memorial Day weekend, and we are already planning a return visit.  There are several places to stay in Key West, ranging from tiny bed and breakfasts, to larger resort style hotels, to the ultra plush Sunset Key Guest Cottages on their own private island, however, having stayed at the Hyatt Key West I'm thoroughly convinced that this is the only hotel I will stay in when I visit this charming city.

We decided to go full on touristy for this trip, and flew into Miami where we rented a convertible and drove down through the keys, arriving at the Hyatt around 2pm.  That little road trip is something I'd recommend to everyone in the entire world!  The main lobby area is very small, but we were seated at one of the three reception desks right away and offered champagne and bottled water (yes, please!).   While checking in we were disappointed to hear that no king rooms were available.  We asked about any upgrades that we could pay for, or any other possible ways to get a king room, but it just wasn't going to happen.  I wasn't completely shocked.  We'd won the Hyatt for an absolute steal on Hotwire when we booked this trip way back in December.  If they're going to stick anyone in unwanted double rooms - it's going to be the discount customers.  Such is life.

After checking in we were given a short tour of the hotel grounds and directions to our room.  The grounds are amazing - so well maintained and inviting.  They actually have an orchid specialist on the property and there are the most beautiful orchids everywhere.  In the trees, in planters - everywhere!  The pool area was lovely with several cabanas, and a nice mix of chairs in sun and shade.  The pool itself was a bit small, but adequate, and there was an in-ground spa as well.  The pool and spa looked very spiffy at night as they were lit up with several small LED lights.  The Hyatt has a small sandy beach area next to the pool with palm trees and lounge chairs, and their resident parrot, Odie (he was a hoot!).  A short staircase from there leads down to the tiny beach.  The sand is a bit rocky, but it's great to be able to get in the ocean.  Plus there's a nice floating dock for those who want to sunbathe and enjoy the waves.  One of my favorite spots at the hotel was the Blue Mojito Pool Bar.  We spent way too much money there, but it was scorching outside and frozen libations were a necessity!  The bar overlooks the water and it's all open and airy.  It was a dream.

Our room was on the top floor and in a very convenient location just above the pool/beach area.  The room was enormous.  They could easily fit two queens in rooms of this size, and I wonder why they went with doubles instead.  The beds were small, but they were comfy.  There was storage absolutely everywhere and we couldn't possibly use all of it.  There was a mini-fridge in the room which they stocked with complimentary bottled water and a clock radio with iPod docking station - perfect for when you need a little Jimmy Buffett to go along with your island vacation.  The bathroom was spa-like.  The large glass shower with pretty green tiles was nice, and it gave you two options - rain shower, or handheld shower.  The vanity counter was spacious and the white bowl sink was a fun, modern touch.  My favorite part of our room had to be our balcony.  If you looked to the right you had a beautiful view of the ocean and the public beach adjoining the hotel, and if you looked to the left you could see all the rooftops of downtown Key West.   Speaking of downtown Key West, Duval was just one block away.  We were so close to all the action, but the hotel still felt tucked away and private.  I'm not sure how they pulled that off, but it's perfect.

Another perk about this hotel (oh yes, there's more!) is that they have several different land and water rentals available right on the property.  We rented bikes one day and toured the island, making stops at several beaches along the southern part of Key West.  Scooters, golf carts, and electric cars were also available for rent.  With regards to water sports, jet skis were available to rent (right from the dock at the hotel) plus boats of all sizes.  We took a jet ski tour of the island one day and it was so convenient to book everything right at the hotel and leave for the tour right from our dock.  We also booked a sunset catamaran tour through the hotel - again, they make it so easy for you to take care of all of your activities all in one place.

Having already typed a novel, I feel I've praised the Hyatt Key West to the point of ridiculousness.  It is an absolutely lovely hotel, and I highly recommend you consider staying here when you visit Key West.

Very nice hotel, right near the water my room has a pretty good view.  Staff was friendly, room is clean and looks nice, beds are comfy

I'm awaiting my room service for breakfast.  When I asked if they gave discounts for military the guy at the desk said he couldn't do it but gave me the phone number for reservations and they were able to give me the discount so I save some money, that's always a plus.  Had a very nice stay

Location: Awesome location in Key West, just outside of Mallory Square, extremely close to the marina, and walking distance to major bar road.  On the water, and actually has a small walk-out beach by the pool if you want to dip your feet in and soak up real water.

Service: I figured I would give Hyatt some props after I blasted them for their service at Grand Hyatt New York.  The service at the Key West location was oustanding.  From recommendations to accomdations they were great.  Checking in they offered us champagne, we parked our car where we couldn't really and valet moved it for us, and got us in a great pool/ocean view room.  We missed our jet ski reservation and they were able to sneak us on the following day's tour.

Room Quality: Outstanding. Extremely up to date (I read reviews previously that said otherwise), not damp or anything like that.  Nice little walk out balcony (small but nice), very nice bathroom (largest shower I'd seen in a long time) and the usual Hyatt amenities.  Was not noisy whenever we were in the room.

Price: Used points, but I looked first and ~2 weeks out they were asking ~$500-$600 a room.  Seemed slightly high, but this hotel seems to warrant it given the quality.

Likeliness to return: It's a matter of when, not if. Great hotel.

Notes -- Jet ski tour great, well worth price.  Call ahead for both that and spa before you arrive -- need to call at least a day ahead otherwise massage time slots full.

This is a trumped up motel that somehow got to slap the Hyatt name on it.

Lets first compliment the staff, however. In the land of surly Key West waitstaff, the Hyatt delivers very nice and polite front desk folks that hand you a glass of champagne upon arrival. Most of the Hyatt professionals will always greet you in passing which is a terrific touch.

Sorry but here's the Meh part. Chlorine pool odor will knock you over as a welcome. Cleaning fluid smell in the guest rooms will burn your nostrils. Its depressing to see turtles captive in mini pools. And its loud. (Which shouldn't be a surprise in Key West). Every time our neighbors slammed their door, our room shook. Our room faced a bar which means you'll hear that tired, generic "Margaritavile" music till you scream. The screechy parrot doesn't help, either.

When we returned from diving at 3PM, our room had not been serviced. We called housekeeping and they stated, "Housekeeping is until 5:30PM," so its not unusual for it to be cleaned late in the day. Huh?

Sit down when you review your bill because the resort tax, room taxes, fees and everything else really adds up.

Having said that, this is probably the nicest place to stay in Key West, which is one of the tackiest, trashiest beach towns in America. Nuff said.

You really can't beat the location here. This hotel is right in the middle of town. Walking distance to all the bars, shops, restaurants, and Mallory Square. We had a rental car for the drive down from Miami and we never used it. We were able to walk and ride bikes everywhere.
The rooms here are modern and clean and the staff is great too. Free champagne when you check-in? Yes please. They even upgraded our room for no extra charge since we were on our honeymoon. In addition, when the wi-fi didn't work our room (mostly due to my computer), they sent up free cheese and more champagne to apologize which wasn't necessary at all, but hey, I'll take it.
The hotel also has a great pool and bar area and great views since it's right on the water. However, if you're looking for a hotel right on a beach, this might not be the greatest place to stay. They do have a small beachy area to lay out and I believe you can go swimming, but the bottom is a bit rocky and so it's swim at your own risk.
Overall, it was a great stay. We got a good deal on the price since we were here in December, so if I can afford it next time I'm back in Key West, I'll definitely be back.

Stepping onto the Key West tarmac it felt like home. If home is Cancun! Customs meets you at the wing an leads you inside and then you are free to go.

After the protocol my brother picked us up and led us to the Hyatt for a smart cocktail and free parking. After all parking is $13 bucks at the parking garage and here you can spend only $50 for a round of drinks and park for free. He's not an economist.

The Hyatt is picturesque and Caribbean like everything else here down to the last detail. Foreign staff, high prices, strong drinks. The logic being that the quicker you get drunk the quicker you stop sweatin' spending money.

Mojitos in Florida. Excellent! Rum more rum and lime juice with just a hint of sweetness and effervescence.

The hotel is a Caribbean wonder complete with turtle and Koi ponds and a litter box they call their private beach. Floating docks off the shore make for great sea swimming and jet skis float at the ready for rental.

Dig the scene man! Time to head on down the road for a little bar hopping.

You can't beat the Hyatt Key West. We had an amazing stay. From the moment we arrived, it was perfect. We were greeted with a glass of complimentary champagne while we checked in.

The bellman takes our luggage and that of our best friends and takes us to our rooms, WOW!! It was a birthday celebration weekend, so I booked a Deluxe Gulf Front Room for us and our friends. We were on the 4th floor, the view was amazing.

Let's start with the room, we had tiled floors with rugs, so it made it quite warm and inviting. We had 3 sliding doors with 2 balconies which were furnished with nice wicker furniture and small tables. From the bed we had an unobstructed view of the gulf and the boats anchored in the bay. The room also had 2 chairs and a chaise lounge type sofa. We had a flat screen TV, a mini bar with refrigerator. The headboard to the bed ran along the wall and was a shelf with slide outs that hid and housed the ihome for the ipod and telephone. The bathroom was fabulous too, a nice rain shower that was huge and tiled in an ocean blue glass tile. We never want to leave.

I had ordered an in room amenity and it was in the rooms when we arrived with a lovely card and instructions that the cold items were in the refrigerator. The service was impeccable our entire stay.

We dined at the restaurant on property for breakfast once and again the service was great, dined on the patio next to the water and the food was delicious.

We did use the concierge services to make a dinner reservation for us one night and they couldn't have been more helpful. She reserved a great table and then proceeded to give us recommendations on the specialties of the restaurant and which ones to try. This is someone who is familiar with the area and the restaurants and I love that.

Self-Parking is available and is included in the daily resort fee, however the lot is small and we had trouble finding parking. But not to worry, the valet opened up the valet parking for us, parked the car and didn't charge us the valet charges, he got a nice tip!

We loved the hotel so much that we extended an extra night, cancelled one night in Miami and savored what we could for our last night. Truly we cannot wait to go back, I wouldn't look for anything else in Key West, the Hyatt is the best!

This is the *best* hotel on the island! It's located in a quiet part, but is literally a three minute (if that) walk to Mallory Square and Duval Street. I absolutely loved staying there. The rooms were clean, the amenities were great (even the gym), and even the room service food was delicious! The staff was sincere and helpful, and I was in love with the floating deck in the ocean water!
I would give 5 stars except for two things:
1) Housekeeping. First day we came back to our room at 4:00pm and the room hadn't been cleaned yet. We had to call and tell them that we'd be gone after 5:30 so they could clean it then. It happened every day. TIP: SCHEDULE YOUR HOUSEKEEPING. If you know your plans, call the front desk and ask them to have housekeeping come at a certain time. Our last day there our room didn't get cleaned at all because we came in for a nap at 3:30 and it hadn't been cleaned yet - I had a choice between a nap and a clean room! WE TOOK THE NAP.

2) The pool. Some wedding party of arrogant people checked into our hotel the day before we left. Despite the "DO NOT RESERVE POOL CHAIRS" sign, these idiots placed towels on 10 of the chairs at 8am. At 10:30, they still weren't down there and the chairs were still "reserved" (nobody was in the pool!) By the time we got down there, not a single chair was available and a few people that had pool chairs also decided they would make the chairs on the floating deck their territory too. I guess what I'm saying is the hotel should enforce the "do not reserve chairs" policy and should probably also provide additional chairs at the pool during busy seasons (ie Memorial Day weekend)

Other than that,  this is still the best hotel on the island and we would definitely stay again!

Horrible customer service.  Rude people.  I can't complain enough.  My first impression was how indifferent the front desk clerk was.  Definitely not happy about her job.  I returned a short while after checking in with my 3 year old to get towels for the pool.  She was sitting down and didn't even get up when I approached the desk.  I asked for towels and she said she didn't have any.  She then looked at the face on my 3 year old and said "hold on".  She got up, walked 10 feet and then came back and asked how many towels I needed.  I said 4 and she got me 4 towels.  If I didn't have my daughter, I don't think she would have helped me.

My real issue is that we only stayed there because we had a promotion for one free night.  They took our reservation for that, but then charged us anyway saying we didn't qualify.  I don't have a problem with that per se, but they didn't charge us until we got home and then they said we made a mistake.  When we booked and when we checked-in and checked-out, there was no bill.

Their customer service has been useless.  I'm very disappointed in Hyatt.

The only thing good to say about them is their location, but that has more to do with the rest of Key West, than it does Hyatt.

It isn't cheap, but it is a tropical paradise in an wonderful location.  We did have some people living in the bushes beneath our balcony who yelled up at us asking for money (which I did after having a couple of cocktails - who DOESN'T drink in Key West?).  I wish I could live at this resort.  The rooms are large and breezy.  The bathrooms are wonderful.  The service is outstanding.  I loved everything about the hotel.  I almost cried when we had to leave.

The hotel restaurant (SHOR) is excellent.  We had a $100 food allowance per day, so we had breakfast every day.  I ordered the unbelievable crab benedict and mimosas every morning.

Parking was "free."  That is just funny when you consider the room rates.

It was a very luxurious vacation.

It is in such a great location that we were able to walk everywhere.

Overall, we had an outstanding stay here.

Service - personalized, friendly, helpful, supportive. When Key West airport got shut down due to winds, they were helpful to us as we figured out what to do.

View - the back of the resort faces the water, and from their small beach & dock you can also get great sunrise & sunset views, if not from your room. Our room had great views as well.

Location - Just minutes walk from Duval St & the port, so you are close to most things in Key West. You don't need a car unless you plan on driving off Key West.

Room - Nice, simple & colorful. We had 2 balconies with a recliner & table/chairs. The tv was nice though we did not use it. They have a clock with an Ipod connector. Fridge as well.

Hotel - Simple & nice. They have a hammock on the beach & a swing on their dock - 2 cool things to be sure to use. The pool is very small but nice. It is open airish. Elevators are convenient, if you do not want to walk.

Food - one great restaurant which we used for breakfast as part of their package. The service here was great & they did a great job accommodating us off menu with vegetarian options.

Concierge - very helpful, but you will save 10-20% if you shop around for tours & water sports.

This hotel is amazing!  The staff is A+ and the grounds are beautiful.  It's right on the water and just 1 block from all the action on Duval Street.  We were greeted by Bridgette who could not have been nicer (she even sent up a bottle of champagne, fruit and cheese for my brother's birthday).  The rooms were gorgeous.  We received a complimentary upgrade and boy was it nice.  Huge room with seating area and a direct view to the pool and ocean.  The Nespresso machine in the room and the extra  large bathroom were definite perks.  It's quite pricey but totally worth it to escape from the craziness of Key West and still be close enough to participate.  Loved everything about this place...A+!

Best hotel breakfast I have had, with a great view of the water from the porch. The wait staff was great, and the management is responsive to all needs. The room I had looked out over the pool and was spacious with two balconies. It's located perfectly near sunset square and all restaurants on duval. Jet skis and bicycles can be rented right at the hotel. Absolutely my favorite Hyatt property in the US.

Let me start by stating that I am a diamond Gold Passport member, and prefer the Hyatt brand for my business travels.

We stayed at the Hyatt  Key West for 4 nights, using my points, in late November, and it was a fabulous long weekend.  From the front desk to the restaurant, the staff was wonderful.

Our room was large, the bathroom luxurious, and it all overlooked the water.  What more could you want.

I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to relax in Key West.

We chose to take a spontaneous trip to Key West and utilized priceline.com to grab a resort at a cheap price. To our success we were confirmed at the Hyatt Windward Pointe Resort in Old Town Key West for $190.00 a night. With such a great deal, there is a price to pay, just remember that when using Priceline.

Upon our arrival we were met with a very polite valet, who grabbed our bags and ushered us into the Hyatt Lobby. It was 2:30pm, and I thought check in would be easy, well it was but were weren't allowed to check in till 4:00pm,  the staff was nice, but I was kinda disappointed about this, I remember 3:00pm check in times, well not to let us down we left our bags and went exploring.

At 4:30 we made our way back to the Hyatt and breezed through check in, although they do charge $20.00 for hotel amenities which is equivalent to two bottles of water, and free Wi/Fi in there lobby area. This I could have done without, a waste of time and $20.00

We were shown to our room by a very friendly and attentive staff member, room 2107, if you ever get this room, if your by yourself and you got a good rate stay, don't complain think of the good rate, but if your there with someone else, problem, problem, problem!

Room 2107 and most likely 2105 are most likely the least desirable rooms at this beautiful resort. yes it's a not so nice view, but even worse is it has two twin size beds. Well, I went down to see if I could change up, but no such luck. I was told that twin size beds are the new queen size bed. Kind of an unappreciated lame excuse. Now mind you, the staff was still very friendly.

This was a spontaneous quick trip and I've always expected little rocks in the road, if this were a planned event, this would not be a kosher episode, and I would have been unhappy. But, Priceline I'm sure is more responsible, As you the adage goes you get for what you pay for, buy somewhere out there someone paid full boat for that room, and that's a true disappointment, there is plenty of room for a king size bed in there, they should try it out. Another disappointment about room 2107 is your right under the lobby, so people entering/exiting all hours of the night, you will hear them.

Would I use Hyatt again..... yes they were nice, and helpful, would I want the same room again absolutely not. With Priceline you lose your leverage, and get what they give you!

The view is beautiful and the folks greeting you upon entering are very welcoming.

Grounds are gorgeous and the beach is right there to look at.  I have several complaints based mostly on the fact that this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. The rate for my room was $660 per night. For that price I expect my room to be cleaned every day. I have stayed in many a Marriott and always was satisfied that the cleaning service was excellent and timely. At this facility it is explained that the rooms can be cleaned up until 5:30. Trust me, they take every minute of that. One day they failed to even clean it.

The shade in my bathroom fell off the hinges each time we pulled it down. So even though it was "fixed" - it never really was. The "free" bottles of water were not replaced.

When I received my bill...holy mackeral!!! add room tax of 7.5% $49.50), 5% county occupancy tax ($33.00), resort fee ($20), resort fee sales tax ($1.50) & resort fee occupancy tax ($1.00) - the room cost me $765.00 PER NIGHT instead of the 660 advertised.!!!

spectacular view - but no urgency to do the little extras.

I'll never be back - Reddington Beach St Pete Marriott , Grotto Bay Bermuda, Marriott on Harbor Drive in San Diego are every bit as spectacular views at about $400 less per night.  And they all clean the rooms before noon!!!

Stayed here on 8/8 thru 8/10.  No issues.

Near Duval and other points of interest so its excellent in that regard.

Room was clean.  A/C worked.  No noise from neighbors.

Didn't eat at the bar or internally so cannot comment on that.  Pool looked OK.  Beach is tiny but didn't use.  Would go back again.

My review is basically good, however there were a few glitches that I would love for Hyatt to address!
Good:  Location.  We took the Key West express ferry from Fort Meyers to Key West.  We walked right from the ferry to the Hyatt.  The hotel is close to most anything to do with Duvall Street, Mallory Square, the Pier etc...Pool and pool servers were attentive and on top of their game..they never let us down with service.  The pool area is small but perfect for us; plenty of sunny areas and shady areas.  Key West doesn't have sandy beaches so we weren't disappointed with that...there is a small public beach called Singleton Beach right next door...it seemed sweet with a concession right on the beach selling refreshments.  There's a complimentary shuttle to town if you don't feel like walking.  Bikes, scooters, golf carts and jet skis available for rent right on the property.  We were able to secure a late checkout which was nice since our ferry back was scheduled for later in the day.  Bellman were great as well as front desk.

Bad:  Bartender Mike was rude and has not completed "customer service 101".  We're pretty easy going but just can't understand rude service employees especially in a Hyatt.  There's plenty of great bartenders in Key West...Hyatt should find one!  Not to sound like a disgruntled alcoholic but we were in Key West sooooo we were disappointed that the hotel bar closes at 10pm; 11pm Fri/Sat....seems early for Key West and there were plenty of people at the bar when they closed!!! (turning away business).  My liver is happy the trip is over...we had a great time!

ps  I think in this day and age wifi should be included

Best location in Key West.
Has everything you need.
Place is in the middle of everything but quiet.
Rooms are nice.
Service is great.
You can walk anywhere. Fly in, get a taxi, forget the rental and come here!
OK, you don't want to walk, just go to the front of the hotel turn left and walk 50 feet to the scooter/bike rental location.

Only one drawback is the noisy air conditioners. But hey, one little thorn does not matter when everything else is perfect!

The hotel staff is great, there's turtles and birds by the lobby, and the pool bar is nice but a bit small. The beach access is limited, but there's a floating dock with pool chairs that is just so relaxing. For the price I would have expected something a bit more, but I have no complaints other than that. 4 out of 5 stars, I'd definitely stay again if I had some coupons

This hotel is lovely. The *husband and I spent a few very relaxing days here on our mini-moon. Everyone working there was so nice and they even gave us glasses of champagne at check in when they found out we just got married! This hotel is wonderful if you want to get away from it all. It's quiet and relaxing and right on the water. I think all the rooms are oceanfront and all have nice breezy balconies facing the water. We ended up having to switch rooms because when we got to our first room which was extremely spacious with a beautiful bathroom the hubs found some tiny, tiny ants crawling about by the mini fridge. I wasn't really into changing rooms, but this is when I guess it pays to be a complaining fancy pants because they put us in a new room (it was smaller) and gave us a $50 credit at the onsite restaurant.

The hotel grounds are very nice, theres a turtle watching pool and lots of lounge chairs by the people pool. One word of caution is that there isn't a beach here, but it is on the water. The location is the best part of this hotel and why you should stay here. You are steps from everything. Just park your car and forget about it because you wont have to move it again.

I came here for a couples massage at the spa and was not staying at the hotel. The ladies were unbelievably friendly and accommodating, and gave us great massages! It was also reasonably priced considering the spa is highly rated. Though the spa is small, so make sure you arrive on time to take advantage of the awesome showers there before their next appointment.

Great hotel with Hyatt quality service, I have been to multiple hyatts and everyone one them were super friendly.

However, hardware could be better. As soon as ac was turned off, we could smell mildew. Also the location of the closet is right next to exit door, closet door at times won't close and as I came in the room I would easily hit my toe on the closet door. Ouch it hurts. This is the only reason I m giving it a 4 star.

Just got back from a 4 day trip, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotels.  The grounds were beautifully cared for.  The rooms were clean and spacious.  We enjoyed the pool and spa and took part in several days of happy hour specials at the Blue Mojito, the pool bar/restaurant.  We mentioned to the desk at check in that it had recently been our anniversary, and on our 3rd day they had complimentary champagne and strawberries sent to our room.  Such a nice little extra that we hadn't anticipated.  We would recommend this to our family and friends and will definitely be staying here again the next time we travel to Key West.

The only con: the concierge.  The concierge desk is located pool side, which seemed a little strange.  I attempted to ask questions during our first day, but he kept telling me that he was busy or I would have to get help at the gift shop desk (I was attempting to find a kayak tour for our group and just wanted some help with the details).  Side note--the lady at the gift shop desk with AWESOME.  She not only helped me figure out which company to go with, she gave me pointers including restaurant suggestions for what to do afterwards.  I wish I would have just gone to her at the beginning.  I thought I had just gotten a rude concierge, but the next day a new woman was at the desk and I approached her to ask her about helping us make a reservation at a nearby restaurant.  She told me she was busy and told me to try her again later.  There was nobody else around and she wasn't on the phone.  It really seemed like they were only interested in helping if you were making reservations at the hotel spa or on site restaurant.  Save your breathe and talk to one of the super helpful people in the gift shop or at the front desk.  They'll be willing to help you without making you feel like you're wasting your time.

For the price, I would not come here again. Room was nice & clean. The attitude here was a little too laid back. We tried to book spa services, only to have the concierge say, that's the way it is around here. I understand they get busy but she would not even help me find another spa. I've traveled the world & most concierges will make the phone calls to help their guests. Called the front desk, to speak to the manager & all I got was the names of a couple spa's, no numbers, no offers for them to call for me. So $600+ a nite isn't worth it, if you are looking for pampering & relaxation.

Sadly, this hotel lacks integrity and I would really suggest you consider staying someplace else.

I entered the Key West Dream Giveaway contest to try to win a paid for wedding at the Hyatt.  We had to get the most likes on a facebook video to win by the end of May.  This other couple then entered and bought over 500 facebook profile likes to vote for them.  They were obviously fake profiles and even the Hyatt admitted when I reported it to them that they were fraudulent profiles.  However, they would not disqualify the couple.  Instead they claimed they would comb through all the profiles at the end of the contest and take out the ones they thought were fake.  I think it lacks morals that they would not disqualify a couple for cheating.  Furthermore, the first time I reported the fake profiles they responded that all the profiles were legitimate, proving that they could not tell until I sent them photographic proof.

This contest made me physically sick the way they handled the situation.  Sadly, it is becoming likely that the contestant that will win will do so thanks to cheating.

I would not stay in a hotel that does not take the moral high ground.

I was pretty disappointed in this hotel. But let's talk about the good first, shall we?

The location was unbeatable. It was only a few blocks from the Marina and Duvall Street. The room was beautiful and over looked the water. It was quiet and the amenities were nice. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. I asked if their was a microwave I could use and they brought us a microwave free of charge. The pool and jacuzzi appeared clean but I managed to step in dog poop in the pool area my first night there. Gross.

Now, for the bad: The service at the bar was hit or miss. The servers were often not to be found when you were in need of a refill. The drinks were outrageously expensive and not very strong. The food was sub par. the conch in the conch fritters were chewy and over breaded. The fish tacos were pretty decent. Housekeeping often failed to come or were so late it was 4:00 or 5:00 and we were already back in the room recovering from the heat.

The beach was a joke. It was crammed in between boats and jet skis. It was no more than 15 feet wide and 40 feet in length before you ran into a boat or something. If you want to swim in the ocean I would suggest staying on the South-side of the island. I also discovered one of my last nights that the underside of my comforter was dirty or that there was dirt or sand trapped inside the comforter. That was a definite gross-out.

So, basically, this hotel has hits and misses. You have to decide what you are willing to deal with.

Great place, close to everything Old town and Historic seaport. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Stay away from Simonton St side rooms if you sleep in as they face a small public beach. It tends to get noisy during the day. The place has a small gym, pool, restaurant and bar, not to mention wave runner rental on site. The restaurant has real good food too. With so much Key West has to offer and this hotel puts you right there! It's within walking distance to all the steer performers at Mallory Square as well.

Wow! First impression of the hotel, amazing! My boyfriend and I came to Key West to celebrate my birthday and chose this hotel because of it's proximity to everything. The hotel is right next to Mallory Square, Duval St, etc., park your car and walk.
While checking in, we were offered champagne and Rachel was the sweetest person we could have asked for. She had such a great personality and made us feel welcomed.
Once we got to our room, we were blown away. Spacious, modern and stunning! Our balcony overlooked the pool and the ocean and it was absolutely perfect. After watching the sunset on our first night, we came back to our dimly lit room with relaxation music playing and some yummy key lime chocolates on our pillows :) We still have 3 days left and I already don't want to leave.

The two star I give is based on the cost of what they deliver.  Over priced resort , the facility is aging (example is the air condition system which is noisy and older).  Best value is the happy hour (4 to 6) otherwise service is average and food is very pricey.  I highly do NOT recommend staying at this Hyatt.

Stayed here 4 nights and also used the private dock for our wedding reception.  The service here was amazing from the minute we arrived and lasted until we departed.  The Shor Seafood Grill restaurant served us amazing food and the breakfast the next day was to die for.  I don't usually give 5 star ratings to hotels unless they deserve it but the Hyatt Key West Resort lived up to these expectations.  The icing on the cake is when they sent up champagne before and after the wedding.

After many attempted and failed phone calls trying to secure a massage, we continued and we conquered and ended up at Jala Spa at the Hyatt Regency.

Jackpot - this place was FABULOUS!  I went with the deep tissue massage.  For those who know me, my knee is acting up again.  Ughhhh!  Anyway, Cheryl was amazing.  I started out with a foot rub, and then she told me to go into the Steam Shower and to apply this body scrub all over my body that contained, of course, essential oils.  .

Never had a deep tissue and let me tell you, she kicked my ass, but at the end I felt amazing.  Best spa so far.

So if you are looking for some relaxation,  please reach out to the Jala Spa.  They treat you like the Queen or King that you are.

Room 1108 when we opened the balcony door there was a smell of septic and the view of a littered camo netting of some sort.
When I impulsively set up the reservation it was within the 14 day cancelation period. I was offered a spa package price of $1100 for 2 nights which included a $150 spa credit. WOW right!! Well I never checked my confirmation price because I believed I was getting what they quoted me. Upon check-out I found out the price was inflated approximately $400 higher. Shame on me for not making them send me a price quote in writing first. However the food was very good and the massage was also very professional and nice.
P.s. I will never stay at a Hyatt again after being CONNED into the rate I was verbally quoted.

The front desk service here was exceptional. We were greeted upon our arrival with champagne and an upgrade. We came for a little one nighter honeymoon before heading back to work in September and the staff really went above and a beyond to make us feel welcome and celebratory. Our room was nothing short of exquisite -- two ocean-view balconies and and king size bed we wanted to live in. The hotel itself is typical Key West style and well maintained, while the pool and "beach" area could be much more generous. The restaurant was nothing to write home about (a review in the making..) but they room service was quick and courteous with our champagne & orange juice. We do wish we spent more than one night there but being from Miami, we didn't mind the 3 hour drive back up North for a real beach and good food.

During our recent visit to Key West, we decided to stay at the Hyatt on Front Street because (1) we were unfamiliar with the myriad of accommodations that are available, (2) we were bringing our family pooch along (which the Hyatt allows, for a fee), and (3) simply because of the Hyatt name, which we are familiar with having stayed at a number of other Hyatt properties domestically and internationally.

The Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa is located at the end of Simonton Street (where it intersects Front), a block away from (in)famous Duval Street, and right on the water.  Essentially, you're smack-dab within walking distance of just about everything (which, actually, might be the case with anywhere in Key West!).  The driveway into the hotel is fairly nondescript, with a lot of large, tropical trees pretty much obscuring the facade.  The drive-up into the lobby is fairly tight; the entryway almost demure.  There's a nice-sized private parking lot for both self-park and valet service.  The lobby is relatively small, but clean and fitting of the Key West vibe.  The concierge and front desk assistant were both exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, even giving us some doggy treats, as well as the requisite instructions for pets, and a map of several dog-friendly parks/beaches around town.  (This Hyatt even provides dog beds, upon request!)

Walking out of the lobby to our building (No. 3 -- as the Hyatt is laid-out in three different buildings), you immediately enter upon the pool area, which has a head-on view of the Gulf.  Entering Bldg. 3 was a little surprising in that it had a distinctly "Howard Johnson"-like look -- more motel and less hotel in feel.  (Not that there's anything wrong with Howard Johnson's; however, at $379 (+ tax) per night (including $150 for the pooch), one would tend to have a bit elevated expectancy.)  Thank goodness we were on the top floor, as that open-air hallway where we waited for the main elevator was acoustically noisy from the pool area and music from the Blue Mojito bar located on this first level.  (The elevator was definitely on "island time"!)

The room itself was a very nice size, with two queen-sized beds, contemporary furnishings and fixtures, with lots of natural polished woods and clean lines.  Floors throughout were extra-attractive 2' x 2' stone slabs.  The bathroom had a contemporary look:  doorless water closet; extra large walk-in shower stall (with Kohler rain shower head, as well as hand-held); open-style vanity and chic vessel sink and fixtures.  The bathroom was well-supplied with bathing accoutrements and a variety of towels, including two robes.  Upon first glance, the bathroom looks great; however, looking closer, most of the grout lines were mildewed, including within the shower stall.  The vanity mirror, unfortunately, reflected the back of the sink which sported a not-so-attractive mildewed silicone ring that was coming apart.  (To make it clear, I'm normally not so critical; but, at the price, one just expects a bit more quality control.)  The room also came with a small refrigerator (empty, no beverages), and a couple of bottled waters (gratis).  Flat-screen television was very small, with a very limited amount of channels to choose from, and some of the worse transmission signals I've ever seen since my childhood days of "rabbit ears," I kid you not!  Balcony was barely large enough for two people, much less a dog.  Still, though, we had a limited, but nice view of the Gulf and adjoining marina.  Noise-level was nominal, although the open-air hallways did amplify conversations and sounds.  (No doubt if we had a rowdy group on this level, it might've been intolerable.)

The Blue Mojito open-air bar was a great spot to have a cocktail or two, while catching a sporting event on the flatscreen.  Again, the staff was so accommodating, esp. with our pooch, bringing her ice water to cool off from the hot day.  The Shor restaurant, too, was very fine for some alfresco dining, and bringing the pooch along.

Personally, I would say the low-point of the Hyatt's accommodations would be the so-called "dog walk" area, which was a barely 12-foot long, 2-foot wide parking lot island!  You could barely get your dog onto that small patch of grass simply because of all the rental motorbikes and carts that were parked on each side of that strip.  (Even the concierge said she was embarrassed by it.)  That said, they did provide poop bags and trash can.  (We have a mid-sized dog, so that "dog walk" was not gonna work for us.  Fortunately, the parking lot and beach adjoining the hotel was under repairs and closed for the weekend, so there was plenty of room to play catch and do her business amidst the parked tractors!  Haha!)

In conclusion, the staff of this Hyatt gets 5-stars!  The accommodations get 3-1/2 stars.  I can't really say I'm a fan, though....

Wow! Loved this place. Now Casa Marina is my fav but this place is a close second and considering I used points to stay here it was ideal!

I called ahead of time and spoke to Eva and upgraded to a Gulfront room. She informed me the first night I could stay basic and then go waterfront for  the other 4 nights but when I checked in I got a Gulfront studio and transferred to Gulffront king the next day. Both were spectacular. Awesome views, 2 to 3 balconies, showers big enough for 2 (or 4) great amenities.just perfect.

We ate downstairs at Shor several times and although the service was painfully slow to greet us turned out fine after initial delays.

The pool bar, blue mojito, had great servers and a wonderful view of the gulf. You can rent jet skis, go on a sunset cruise, rent runaround boats and it's within walking distance of all the touristy places.

They have a nice sized pool and a Jacuzzi and really some of the best service ever. I always expect that from the Hyatt chain and had no  let downs here.

We liked it so much we extended our stay an extra day!

While the location is great, I was underwhelmed with the "resort" itself.  The room was clean and modern but our view was nothing but trees and a walkway off the balconies.  Unfortunately I had to listen to some drunk women sit on her balcony and talk at the top of her lungs until 2 am.   Not the hotel's fault, I know.  But the pool was closed by the board of health and the hot tub was drained due to mechanical problems.  Some of these rooms go for over $400 a night.   Not really worth it.

The Hyatt Key West Resort and Spa.  A great Resort in a great location!  After a long 4 hour drive from Miami, we arrived tired and thirsty.  The Hyatt was ready for us.  As we were checking in, they offered us either champagne or lemonade to quench our thirst, and candy to leave a sweet taste in our mouth.  Check in was a breeze for us after they gave us our refreshments.  Our room was on the top floor, the fourth floor.  It had a partial ocean view.  Even though the view was partial, it was an awesome view of Key West.  Florida hotels are interesting.  Most hotels have the Lobby as the first floor.  In Florida, the Lobby is the ground floor.  The 1st floor is reallythe second floor.  Always push the "L" button if you want to get off at the ground floor.

Our room came with 2 queen beds.  It everything that my wife wanted in a hotel room.  The room was nice.  The room was nice and big.  It was nicely decorated.  They had a refrigerator in the room that got a lot of use.  The bathroom appeared to be recently remodeled.  Exactly what the wife wanted.  The only complaint was with their choice of television stations.  None of the the Florida hotels we stayed at allowed my wife to dream.  She could not watch HGTV.  They also did not have a NBCSN.  I could not watch the Stanley Cup Finals.  But, the bartendender at the pool area set me straight on sports.

The hotel has a large swimming pool.  They had a game patio near the bar, which included a reading library and a large screen tv.  My daughter loved the game area.  She loved playing the various games.  They also had a bar with a real nice bartender.  The bartender give me an important piece of advice.  He told me to relax.  He told me that I was in Key West, and that I should not be worrying about a hockey, basketball, or baseball.  He was correct!

If that is not enough for you, they also had their own private beach for you.  You could lounge on one of their lounge chairs.  It was nice!  Bike Rental and Wave Runner Rentals were also available.

Odie, the pet bird was right outside the lobby greeting everyone.  They also have a turtle pond that is decorated with real live orchid plants.  It was nice and relaxing watching the turtles and Odie.

The hotel was within walking distance to both Mallory Square and Duval Street.  It was close to all the action in beautiful Key West.   They Hyatt Resort and Spa is a great place to stay while on vacation.  It has everything you need to relax.  It is a great hotel in a great location.

first of all, this hotel wouldn't have been my first choice since i am not a fan of the Hyatt chain; however, my employer gave me an anniversary gift i could use at any Hyatt hotel and i used it for my trip to Key West. for three nights it cost $1,800 for a room with no view and no tub. the room was clean and i had no issues with the staff, but i did have issues with the price they charged for the room.

upon checking in we were given champagne (nice) and showed the grounds. a short history about the turtles on property and when the band/spa was available. and every member of the staff we came across was wonderful; however, this hotel is asking (and getting) way too much for their rooms/grounds/location.

when we return to the Keys, we will not be returning to this hotel. if you aren't paying the bill, enjoy - because it was close to everything and that's what you're paying for...LOCATION. but if i used my certificate at another Hyatt location, i probably could've stayed for double or triple the amount of evenings.

ps - don't yell at old people for picking up the turtles past their heads...they will end up dropping them due to shock (poor turtle)

We have stayed here many times but this review is for our latest stay... first, the hotel is wonderful... very nice location, close to Duval, and great breakfast/restaurant... pool open late, love the wait staff...  Great pool and very clean.... love the docks and watching the boats come in.  Also, LOVE that the water sports place is right here and off our dock.

Breakfast was delicious daily, love sitting on the docks and by the pool, love the little cove, love the floating platform, location is fabulous, pool waitstaff were pretty great overall... Views from our room were great... but i think this depends on where you are.  Turtles and Odie were so wonderful to watch and play with... Our daughter LOVED that and it was a wonderful attraction.  Store by the pool is pretty nice.. loved some of the things they had.

Now to the downside:
-The pool isn't too big, so when it is busy, it is super busy... and even though non-guests at the hotel aren't supposed to be using our pool or beach, this isn't super policed.
-I called ahead to let them know I had a kid and needed a crib, they said it would be in the room and no problem... well guess what, it wasn't in the room... so I was like "ok, please bring"... and the guy told me he would bring it right back up... very pleasant... 3 hours later, after many calls down to the front desk, someone showed up.
-Rooms were not cleaned quickly.. so it was hit or miss... AND, our lady did a poor job.  Robes were never replaced even though one was on the floor as dirty... trash was often left unchanged, floor had spots still on it that should've been cleaned... and one day, the room wasn't cleaned when we came back so we asked for towels and stated we would let them know when we were out so they could come back to clean... but NOT to come knock and clean now since we were putting our daughter down for a nap... they came by about 30 minutes later and knocked a bunch of times to clean the room, even though the people we told not to come assured us they wouldn't send someone until we asked... so our daughter was awoke, evening ruined due to our daughter not getting the nap.
-Concierge didn't seem particularly knowledgeable... pleasant enough but one doesn't eat seafood and both seem pretty flighty.

Went for April break in 2013. This is the best hotel I could find on the island in terms of location, views, and amenities. I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff had champagne upon our arrival and were very friendly. We didn't need to rent a car. We could walk to everything. We rented jet skis through the hotel and had a great time. I enjoyed the pool and how it is right on the water. Our room was a good size and the shower was huge. The turtles and parrot on the property are a nice touch too. I'll be back!
