This is a super nice hotel. The rooms are pimp!  This places rooms are just as nice as some 5 star hotels. I think this place is converting to a Marriott so I am expecting the once reasonable prices to sky-rocket.

Beautiful. Bed and room furnishings were amazing, contemporary, and very comfortable for liquor filled sun drenched bodies after a long day. Very pretty with a private feel. Room service wasn't that great, but the Pool Bar was amazing. Get the mango Mai Tai. Good place to stay. The hourly transportation to Duval st. was nice. If you can swing it, upgrade to a suite. Worth the money. The absolute best part of the stay here was the 2-hour jetski tour that goes around Key West. It leaves from the hotel beach and is led by fun yet professional guides who were not too bad on the eyes either :) Totally worth the price. Expensive, but if you can swing it, stay here!

Marriott is just Marriott...but comparing to the Holiday Inn across the streets, this hotel seemed much much cleaner, nicer and fancier. The room is very modern, nice color coordination. We got small bottle of wine and ice cream as we checked in. Swimming pool is very nice, we were the only people using it. Quiet place to relax after long hours biking around town.

I really liked this place. Great place for a relaxing vacation for the most part. The location is really ideal if you have a car and you'd rather not stay  on Duval St in the middle of the madness.

It's seconds from the Overseas Highway, and ten minutes from Duval St and attractions. If you are not on Key West to party, yet to relax, this is the place to go.

I love the pool and being by the water. Just do not plan to swim in the water, because it the gross Gulf of Mexico. Not the place if you want to be on the beach.

The room is really nice and new. Service is decent, they gave a late check out which is always good.

The one thing that I could've been happy without was the Republican Party  of Florida having  a party for Governor Charlie Christ. A hotel should definitely not have partisan get togethers for political parties at the pool, when other customers who pay a lot of money might not want to be around that.
Isn't the pool a place to relax? This sure got me mad.

I spent 4 excellent nights at this location a couple of weeks ago.  The accommodations were superb and I can not find one negative thing to say about my stay except for one...  The concierge did not fit in with the temperament or vibe of the place. Although we were first in line for help he passed us by for an older, possibly wealthier couple and also had the audacity to shooo us away while he helped them. We waited a while and then left to do our own "concierg-ing." Later in the afternoon the concierge passed us in his big black SUV as he left the premises. He must have recognized us from earlier. He pulled up along side my friend and said,"what did you want?" not, "can I help you now," or "sorry I passed you over," "sorry I didn't get to you." We politely moved on, and never attempted to engage him for the remainder of our stay...we got along just fine with Yelp and Google reviews

I just had my wedding here and the staff far exceeded my expectations!  I am not from Key West so I planned my whole wedding from out of town.  The staff was very helpful in planning everything.  The day of our wedding, everything turned out better than perfect.  All of the staff was so polite to my guests and anything we needed they did.
We also stayed here for the week of the wedding.   The hotel was very clean and the food at both the pool and the Tavern N Town was excellent.
Loved everything!

Being a long time loyal Marriott Elite member, I was excited about staying at Marriott and exploring in Key West.  First arrival for hotel check-in, they told me I received an upgrade which is pretty normal for an Marriott elite member, and once we got to the outside of our room, the view is EXTREMELY disappointed which is facing a busy street even with road constructions.  Did I mention I am paying about $300 a night and not using any points... And then there was no WIFI signal at all, they put us through the tech support and they can't fix the problem, told us to find another room, and then we moving all of our stuff & ended up changing room with a not much better view and the attitude of the stuff & the supervisor is not very nice at all.  Didn't say any sorry or anything like that.  Also, the noise from all around the area is horrible, the noise from the traffic, the people walking outside your room, and the noise from the upper floor.  And this is not close to where all the action is.  If you are considering staying at this hotel, please DON'T.  I think Westin or Hyatt would be giving us a much better experience and services.  I have regretted that I should have stay at Hyatt since I am a Diamond Hyatt member!!!

A great place to go for a relaxing, luxurious vacation. We had a two bedroom condo with kitchen and washer/dryer. The condo is beautifully appointed.

One negative, in the master bedroom you need to use the ceiling fan. The ac doesn't seem to make it all the way back.

We had a great view of the bay. Not a great beach to swim, but you really need to go to Smathers or the Atlantic side for good swimming.

* 3.5 stars...   The Marriott overall was nice, but for the money and location - it feel short for us.
Pros:
They have a shuttle from airport which was very timely.
A glass of champagne waiting when you check in.
Very courteous staff
Beautiful rooms (we stayed in presidential 1 bedroom.  was HUGE - 1k sq feet).   The room was exceptional.
Balcony overlooked pool - which was ok - but we ate breakfast outside on porch every morning.   LOVED it.
Access to water sports (including jet skis, kayaks, etc. was perfect).  We took the jet ski tour - which was great because we had people who could ride.     When you got into groups which were with younger or inexperienced people - it could be very different.
The pier extending from hotel overlooking lagoon was very nice.   Sunset was obscured by a large billboard sign - but overall very nice.
Towel guy - was great.   Knowledgeable about island and where to go.  Also gave some free drink cards to different restaurants.
Property was quiet.
SUNSETS at Mallory Square were EXCEPTIONAL....   What a beautiful sight.
Had a washer and dryer in room.
The manager and wait staff in restaurant were very nice.   Food was good but better for small plates and pizza vs. larger dinners.
Piano player in bar was very nice.   We had a wedding party who was in the restaurant when we were having a drink.   They actually used the floor between the bar and piano player for their official dance floor.   Was a little odd, but they looked happy.

Cons:
Cost.  We went at the height of season and could not use any points and found the expense of room to be very high for overall atmosphere.
Pool area was very dated - including the seat cushions and umbrellas.   Because of how pool is situated, the sun is either on one side of the pool or the other.   Which makes getting sun very difficult given the small sides of the pool.   People were saving seats from early in the AM to get the sunny side in afternoon.   Impossible to partrol.
There really isn't a beach - just a bunch of sand to place chairs on to sunbathe.  NO swimming - which wasn't clear when we booked.   Only one good beach in Key West downtown.
Concierge desk was not very good.  I could go on and on, but service from this end was very disappointing.
Shuttle bus to Duval street ran hourly.   In hindsight, staying downtown was a much better way to go but you might also have the noise factor to deal with.
You pay to park
The buildings were all separate so it was weird to get around to the rooms etc.
The open airways king room *which we did not get* we heard was VERY small with limited amenities.
The washer broke when were were there - with our clothes in it.    Everyone tried to be helpful but very inconvenient and just a 'so sorry' after it happened.    Not even a free drink.

I think our biggest issue was the distance from the town and the pool quality and size.   We might go back if we can use points, but would probably look downtown for the future.

Enjoy.

I was very impressed with this place.  I read mixed reviews on Yelp & Hotels.com but I'm not sure why.  I've stayed at some fine hotels throughout many, many vacations and this is a legitimate resort.....not just an old hotel with a resort name.

The hotel lobby is beautiful - clean and well maintained.  The hotel staff was welcoming and very helpful.  Although I did not eat in their restaurant, it looked very nice.  They had a buy 1 get 1 free happy hour so beers were reasonable.

The rooms are outstanding.  The small rooms have a king size bed with fine bedding....flat panel screen TV and granite bathrooms with a huge tub.  But, no balcony.  They do NOT have an option for a roll-out bed or mattress so if there's more than 2, you might have to upgrade to the larger room, which was about $50+ more per night.

In summary, I really enjoyed this place.  Clean, modern and elegant.  I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

BEFORE you make a reservation (like I did...) Stop.  Check out your other choices....and do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else. There is so much wrong with this hotel....that it's not worth the hassle.

Meeting up with 3 other couples in Key West for the Weekend....they were all staying here....and we decided to do the same....MISTAKE!

Flew into Key West...arrived at 9:30am...ready for a relaxing weekend. Thanks to this hotel....didn't work out that way.
Figured we'd get a massage since we were arriving so early....wrong hotel....no spa. They provide in-room massage service....but too early....the room was not available. (Requested an early check-in)
When we arrived at the hotel...they said they would have a room for us by 11:30am. The front desk even took our number and said that if anything became available before11:30am, they would call us on our cell. Great....(Not Really)....
We checked our luggage in (front-desk) and headed to Duval for a stroll and breakfast. Around 12pm....I called the hotel to see if we can head back....they said they won't have anything ready until 4pm...which is the regular check-in time.   4 P.M????....What? (Is it me...or Isn't that a little too late?)  I asked them if they had anything available...forget the 2-bedroom suite...just a bed in a room....they said "NO.". O.K...If I cancel....I would be charged the $500. At this point....I didn't care....we just wanted a place to chill.....I called AMEX....held a room at Sunset Key....came back to get my luggage....and while we were cancelling the rest of our stay....suddenly the manager came out to see why we were leaving. We told him we knew we were responsible for the night..but didn't want to wait until 4pm.
SUDDENLY.....MIRACLE....a 2-bedroom suite was immediately available. Yes...big room...and that's all you get......I have a big room at home too.  But this hotel offers: A Beautiful view of a metal chain-link fence.  A In-Room "Whirlpool" tub...that doesn't work. Room Service that get's there just before the you get tired of waiting....(if you want iced-coffee....just order regular coffee..... AND all of the other great amenities. By the way.....we were all charged $17.50 plus tax (DAILY) for PARKING....they forget to mention that and hope to get away with it. It took all of us 2 days of phone calls to finally reach someone who can remove that charge off of the bill. They will remove it....but only if you notice it....and call them continuously.
The sad part is....there is so much wrong with the service at this hotel....that at some point...the big room doesn't even matter anymore.

It's just not a hotel I'd ever recommend to anyone.
We all went to the HYATT to use the spa....got a massage.....and spent our days there. Rented a jet boat....Waverunners.... We'll be back to Key West....but as for the Beachside Resort....whatever??? No.  Hyatt.....Ocean Key.....Westin's Sunset Key....so many other choices without all of the hassles.

Ahhhhh....Key West....we'll be back. As for the Marriot Beachside Resort....like an annoying ex you never want to run into.....

Our stay was absolutely amazing!  The facilities are unbelievable and we stayed in the Presidential Suite which was like a mini apartment.  The appliances were sub zero and Viking and the furnishings were all high end.  We had a balcony with a gulf view that created an area to sit and relax each morning while drinking coffee and watching the activities below.

We had breakfast each morning on site which was an abundance of food when having the buffet.  The only down side to the dining was the service for dinner the first evening as the restaurant was understaffed and a bit overwhelmed.

There was a shuttle service that ran on the hour to take us to Duval and back which allowed us to forgo renting a car.  This was certainly handy.

After staying at Marriott locations all over the US and South America I can say that this location is in the top 5.

So this place is ok, but I just expected a lot more from the place from the website.  First of all, the set up is pretty weird.  I am not a fan of the doors on the outside, and since we had a smaller room, we had an A room and there was an entrance to both the A and B room.  That was kind of weird for me since we didn't know the B room people.

The room itself was really pretty and the bed super comfortable.  The bathroom looked amazing and I couldn't wait to take a shower or bath in that amazing tub, but the water pressure sucked.

The pool was great and the bartender at the pool bar was absolutely AMAZING.  But the "beach" kinda sucked.  I know that Key West isn't known for the beach but i thought it was kind of lame for a beachside resort.

Overall, this place is good, just expecting really really awesome.

Champagne at check in was a nice touch.  We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite.  It was spacious and beautiful.  It is furnished with quality furnitures and the kitchen was very nice.  The hotel is not quite Beachside since there is no real beach access.  Waterfront maybe more appropriate.  The restaurant there was great.  There is a shuttle to Duvall St that runs every hour until 10 pm.  It is about 3.5 miles from the main tourist area.

I loved this place. Can't wait to come back. The suites are very spacious. They come with 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms. We came for a couples retreat but we liked the family atmosphere here. I actually liked that it is a quick 10 min (free) shuttle ride from the busy downtown area. It made it more pleasant not dealing with the typically drunk people right outside a place downtown. There is a Jet Ski rental place attached to the hotel. In the morning you can see manatees swimming just off the wall on the beach side.

Excellent rooms, very modern, great design, new hotel...no WIFI, ethernet only. Hotel staff are very curteous. Breakfast is very good too. Have to take the shuttle into town though....definitely not walking distance, unless you are into distance, marathon power walking...which I am not.
I got upgraded to an amazing King suite complete with huge jacuzzi tub, full "sub-zero" stainless steel kitchen (high end appliances,) dark wood colored cabinets. It's one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in, and I stay in a lot.
It's pricey, but my company pays, so I don't mind.

Welcomed with a glass of champagne so vacation started off right. Was upgraded to a partial water view suite.  The suite was spacious with a full kitchen, dining table, balcony and separate bedroom.  The bathroom was also a good size and we tried out the jetted tub.  Loved that the room even had a washer and dryer so after swimming we could wash our clothes.  The staff were very accommodating but I did have an issue with the wifi not working in my room.  One tip: do not waste your time putting your luggage on one of luggage carts in front of the lobby. We did then found out our room was on the other side of the hotel.

The reviews on here were a little surprising to me... How could anyone NOT love it here (or appreciate the amazing customer service?) I travel a LOT for work and decided to use my points to scratch Key West off my bucket list.  I didn't realize that I would love this place so much that I already am planning my return visit! The rooms are lovely.. My husband and I live in a nice home so when I travel I often just wish we had our own bed and our own decor. Here it felt like an extension of what we have in our own home.  The bed is SO comfortable! The sheets, pillows, all of it. The decor is a dark wood with marble floors throughout.... the shower was large enough for two and as for internet...the engineering department was kind enough to hook up a router in our room so we could use our iPad to hook up to the TV for us to enjoy our music.  The Tavern and Town restaurant is reasonably priced for a resort restaurant...the food was good but the server Chaz was exceptional.  The concierge Toni is the daughter of a former boat captain/mayor so she seemed to know everything about everyone and not just eager to make a commission off of us.

The net-net is this...if you are even thinking about going to Key West...GO! If you're on the bubble with this hotel because of the location...GO! Rent a couple of bikes ($75/week) and ride the 3 miles down to old town or take the free hourly shuttle. You won't regret it! Service, comfort, quality ... My 3 favorite things to have on a vacation.

Best resort in Key West.  Super expensive......really nice.  Make sure you call ahead if you are using Marriott points as they will give you the crappiest room if you are using points. Do not let them put you in 612/613/614.   Go to keyscoupons.com for buy 1 get 1 free drinks at the overpriced pool bar.  Breakfast for 4was over 50 bucks with tip....really good but again......super expensive

Nice rooms, pretty good pool area.  The restaurant was great! My only problem was the $17.50 + tax daily charge for parking. WTF? When we checked in they asked us if we had a car.  I said yes, but nothing els was said. No mention of a daily parking fee, nothing. When we got in our car to leave we noticed the charge on the bill. The manager told us it was standard and we should have gotten a little slip of paper when we checked in that notified us of the charge. Nope, didn't get that. After ten minutes of debate she finally reimbursed us for the fee. So if they ask you if you have a car just say no. They don't ask for a plate number or give you a pass, they just want to charge you.

Great room.  Designed for condos, so you get very large spaces.  Suite (A rooms) had full kitchen, dining area, large living room, very comfortable bed, show & bathtub, 2 sinks, 2 toilets. Appointed well. Off Duval strip, so easy to escape the tourist feeling. Workout room looks out over the ocean/bay to occupy you while jogging. Ask for poolside suite.

Wow!  This hotel is for those who want a romantic getaway in Key West.  While it's not right in downtown (Duvall/Mallory Square, where the serious partying is), there is a free shuttle to and from that area twice an hour.

Now, back to the hotel.  We had a suite - which was beautifully, perfectly appointed with gorgeous floors, a huge kitchen (with all cooking tools necessary) and dining area, and two porches.  Both our bedroom and living room had doors that opened up all the way to let a breeze in.  Ceiling fans in every room and lots of adjustable lighting also made everything nice.  While the furniture, artwork and amenities were truly breathtaking, what amazes me is how clean the rooms are.  The cleaning staff obviously works very hard, because there was not one untouched corner.  They were awesome!  Everyone in the hotel has a "what can we do for you" attitude - with a genuine smile - which, I have found, is the Marriott way.  Seriously, though, this staff is constantly working and still so pleasant and helpful.

Along with the free shuttle (to and from downtown; to and from the airport, too), the hotel also offers bicycles for about $20/day.  Be careful not to bike back from Duval at night because the construction area ped path is very dark and can be dangerous (the pavement, I mean - not the people).  If you head south from the airport on foot, there is a lovely walking/biking/jogging path with a totally open ocean view.  Two miles down, the path gets to Smathers beach.  Really gorgeous!

This hotel is really for adults, and is nice and quiet with a nice clientel.  We were there for a week and saw less than five children (but lots of parents with teens, which made sense to us).  My guess is that people with small children would not find the amenities there to accomodate small kids anyway (no big pool or kids areas).  The pool area is fairly quiet and perfect for relaxing and, yes, there is a small but nice beach area just past the pool.  The pool food is actually great (grilled chicken!), and the wait staff will come and take your order even if you park yourself by the beach.  If you like to cook as we do, there is a large Publix within a half mile of the property.  With the ability to purchase local fresh fish and cook in our sweet kitchen, we seriously did not want to leave our room.  The view of the ocean was beautiful, and like I said, this hotel is just downright romantic.

I do want to address the comments people made about "loud hallway doors".  When you enter from the outside, you first enter one door into a foyer (yes, it's a heavy door because it's a hurricane door) that you share with one other room.  Then, you enter your room door.  Actually, this keeps noise out from anything that is going on outside.  And, unless your neighbor is going in and out of their room 600 times a day, I can't imagine the noise being an issue.  We never heard anything, and the hotel was sold out the week we were there.  Really, folks!

While this is not the least expensive hotel in Key West, it is certainly one of great service and amenities.  We would not stay anywhere else if we were to return.  The photos on their website do a nice job of communicating just how beautiful this hotel really is.

The hotel has some great rooms but we did not get one.  We were put into a room that faced the walkway.  As an elite member I would have expected to get a room with at least a view.  We got nothing but a 10x10 room that looked into the walkway.  This hotel is set up like a time share.  A suite with a kitchen, bathroom, washer dryer and then the reject room.  The rooms share a common hall way and you can hear everything in the other room/suite.

The pluses are a shuttle to the fun end of town that runs from 8 am to 11pm.  The drivers are great and will drop you anywhere you ask on the route.

Beware of the free elite breakfast.  If you get anything hot it's a 5 dollar up charge.  We found out when we got the bill.

As a long time Marriott member and fan I'm staying someplace else next time I visit.  I'm sure I'd feel different if I had a better room and did not hear all passers by and my neighbors talk, walk and enter and e it their suite.

I stay in hotels all the time.  This has to be the nicest hotel I have stayed in.  The hotel staff was friendly and attentive.  The shuttle down to duval was a huge plus and great cost saver.  Worse part of the hotel is leaving.  Great location to get away from things but great staff to tell you where to see the locals.  I will make this my hotel for future vacations.

Stayed here for four nights. Absolutely lovely experience. The staff was always quick and helpful. Champagne upon arrival: yes please!
The room was clean and spacious and it had a nice marble floor, which was a great change from the usual gross carpet hotel room floors.
There was plenty of free parking for our rental car (every complex has its own parking so you never need to walk far).

The fitness *room* is just that....but hey- it does the trick if you're desperate to work out and creative with a bench and some free weights. ;)

Loved the pool area- always launge chairs available, and there is a small man-made beach right behind it, which adds a nice touch.

The Breakfast buffet was great (big variety) and with the coupon it was free for the two of us every day.

The in-house restaurant "Tavern 'n Town" has delicious food and they really pay attention to "special" (aka vegan) orders. They have a "2 for 1" Happy Hour every day. All these perks made it hard to leave the hotel at all but when we did we got free shuttles into town. The driver even dropped us off at another beach one day because it was on the way to the airport. Just lovely service and an over-all great experience. Would come back here anytime!

Price=good, location=not so good, service=good, room layout=worst, good night sleep=no, corrective action= not good enough.

They give checkins a glass of champaign, which we had to enquire about. They have a shuttle service which, works given the fact they are not within walking distance to much of anything. Nice pool and activity center.

Our room itself looked nice, no fridge. No waters. We had an entryway door shared with a neighbor, right next to our door, which made it very difficult to get our bags in and out (even ourselves).

The main issue was that the air conditioning was situated directly towards the bed. It was the loudest air machine I can recall ever hearing, the air was blowing so hard directly on the bed - it actually would make the ceiling fan turn. We must have woken up a dozen times. Not to mention the fact that we could hear our neighbors door all night, then the room service at least five or six times letting the entryway door slam each time.

When we checked out we told the front desk. They said sorry, and took off the charge that they were going to put on our bill for parking.

Would not stay here again, overall. In my opinion, stay at the Hyatt down town (resort) we had the most amazing time there.

I recommend this hotel in Key West.

Private (small) beach - check
Very nice pool area with cabanas and expensive drinks - check
Great views (if you have the proper room) - check

I'm guessing it's fairly expensive, but we used Marriott points. We got upgraded to the 1br suite with a two story balcony including spiral staircase. Way cool.

The champagne at check-in has been covered, so that was a nice touch.

While the rooms were modern and well decorated, we shared a foyer with two other rooms whose kids were going in and out - there was a good amount of noise from door slamming and conversation.  Our room had no view and windows that faced the outdoor hallway.  I couldn't have told you if it was midnight or noon.  Also, our rooms weren't cleaned before 3:30 each day we stayed, so we had to ask for toiletries and towels when we returned to our room from activities during the day prior to dinner.  Very annoying.

Also, if you are looking for a location close to anything, I wouldn't stay at the Marriott.  It is as far away on Key West as one can get from Duval Street, and while the shuttles run every hour to-and-from downtown, it isn't ideal considering the amount of hotels and B and B's closer to the hustle and bustle.  Had I not been a rewards member, I wouldn't have stayed either.

Wouldn't recommend on a next trip to Key West, unfortunately.

NICE. Clean with Lovely rooms, friendly staff, good hotel. Front desk wasn't perfectly accommodating which I found slightly offensive especially since it was almost vacant , but I guess it's the island mentality.

Ask for a 3rd floor if you like any kind of view.

Clean, the front desk gal,  handed out champagne very nice touch, I asked for breky coupons  from the heavy set spanish dude at the front desk and he scoffed, that wasn't good when they gave everyone else. And I brought a party of 5 staying for 3 days. The breky is a good deal if u have a coupon. I used the beach area to launch my paddleboard. which is a 5 star launch! i paddled with a family of 5 manatees. I would rate it higher, but I didn't feel like I was treated like a VIP, hence only 3 stars , I would've gave it more, especially when i have marriott reward but the overweight Hispanic front desk clerk , who scoffed at the breky coupons set the negative mood. downer!  also, 0 stars for NO FREE WI-Fi, What is up with that?  I would recommend only if u have marrriott points. Room is small and well apointed, 4 stars

Rooms are nice and cold which helps when visiting Key West in August. Their "beach" is misleading. Nice salt water pool is a great attraction. Staff is friendly. The hotel offers $19.95 on any food item in their tavern between hours 5-7pm.

We had our wedding here last week! The weather was perfect, Cara the event planner was amazing and everything went off great! They even got us a trolley to help transport our guests to the restaurant. The pool was a dream and my guests loved that it was open 24/7. The  breakfast buffet is worth every penny. We used the free shuttle daily and it was perfect and convenient. The suites were absolutely amazing as was the service by the cleaners. The standard rooms were a little small but still realy nice and honestly you don't spend much time in your room! The only reason I didn't give the 5th star was that I had an issue with check in from some trainees. They also charged the wrong credit card for incidentals. All were quickly resolved but it was a little aggrevating. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Checked in today. Horrible, horrible service. Never seen a 4 star hotel so under staffed. I asked for some 3 plates and spoons and the room service sent a housekeeping guy with 2 trays and 2 spoons. When I said I wanted a plate to eat from...he started teaching me english and said thats a dish. ok fine, i am from a different country...but how come just 2 when i asked for 3. To add on he said pls call room service again and explain to them what i want. EXCUSE ME!!! you understood what i want...how come i need to call them and explain again. NOT EXPECTED SUCH A HORRIBLE SERVICE...HATE IT. will never come back again...

This hotel is modern and elegant!  Our room was just beautiful and I felt a bit like a celebrity!    A free shuttle to and from downtown Key West is provided for hotel guests, which was a plus, as Duval Street is approx 3 miles away.
** ALSO, Try a Pina Coloda at the poolside bar, it is by far the best my boyfriend and I have ever tried!

We spent over $1000 at this hotel for 3 days, and during that time we spent 2 of the nights listening to the ungodly screech of the dryer in our room. We are active people who needed to do laundry nightly, but the dryer was deafening  and did not dry the clothes. We hung clothes all over the 'suite'. The front of a drawer also came off in husbands hands. All this inconvenience and genuine distress, and all they did was give $100 back and some points in their program. Also cheap in giving out 'free' breakfast coupons unless you eat a defined 'entree'. We spent over $60 the first night on dinner and still had to ask for the one free breakfast. Two words: Hampton Inns any where. Why did they even book this room??

Compared with other Marriott properties I've experienced across the country, this property is overpriced. Compared with other resort properties across Key West I'm assuming it is priced fairly. There is nothing really special about Beachside which makes it hard to 'fork out' $379 per night for a small room. I will explore other options when visiting Key West in the future.

My son & daughter in-law had their beach wedding here last March, everything was wonderful!!
The condos were awesome, we were upgraded at no extra cost to a 3 bedroom with the most perfect view of the resort & ocean!
The condos are 1st class with all the luxury amenities to go with it.
Pool was great & big enough, only 1 bad thing, people would sneak in to use it with lots of kids that were not staying there. They need to police it better.
The wedding was great also, they met everything my son & wife wanted!
The reception & food was wonderful!  They did a great job!
When we go back to Key West we will always be staying here!

PROS:
- Friendly staff from start to finish.
- James assisted with my reservation and he couldn't have been more accommodating. He even sent the kindest handwritten note welcoming us to the resort.
- The front desk clerk, I believe his name was Jeremy, was very friendly and very welcoming to my partner and I - and he suggested places in the area we may want to visit. All other staff we encountered were equally as professional and helpful.
- Complimentary champagne is given at check-in - always such a nice touch.
- Gorgeous grounds - the entire hotel, common areas, guest rooms, and grounds are meticulously clean and well polished. I travel often for both work and pleasure and have to say this is probably the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. I didn't find one thing that seemed "off"
- Breathtaking, huge, comfortable, luxurious, homey, suites. We stayed on the 4th floor where the rooms have a two story balcony. The kitchens in the suites are fully stocked with everything.
- Location was great in a quiet spot at the entrance to the island. The shuttle was a breeze to take in to Duval Street and the shuttle driver couldn't have been more friendly. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to get in to town. We ended up renting mopeds and it was really easy to get around the island.

CONS:
- None to speak of. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't look anywhere else when returning to Key West.

The one bedroom presidential suite exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff is very friendly and accommodating they even have a toothbrush for me since I forgot mine.

room 338A only has a tiny view mostly you stare at a blank wall

Lunch in the restaurant was very good but service was a bit slow

The hourly shuttle to Duvall  Street is very convenient

They call this the beachside hotel but don't expect a sandy beach the keys are not known for them

#1- Our room was NOT cleaned until very late in the day (approximately 4pm). This went on for several days. Therefore we did not have fresh towels when we showered after spending our mornings at the pool.

#2-  When our room was serviced, it was not cleaned fully. Supplies (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) were not replenished.

#3- Our television remote did not work.  We reported this to the front desk upon our arrival.  Rather than fix the problem, a repair man gave us a second remote to use in addition to the original remote.  Working both remotes for different functions (volume, channel, power, tv guide) was confusing & often left us with error messages on the screen.

#4- Several times, the shuttle service left slightly earlier than the times listed, which left us to either wait a complete hour before the next shuttle (and miss our reservations/excursion) or pay $20 for a cab into town.

#5- We got engaged during our stay in Key West.  Our loved ones sent us gifts to celebrate our engagement. While one family member ordered us champagne to celebrate, we received a cheap bottle of white wine (which we don't drink) instead. This is upsetting to us & our family that spent time & money to send us champagne on our special night.

Bottom Line:  We're not ones to complain & we understand that people make mistakes.  However, this hotel is not cheap & we expected more for the amount we paid. This was a very special vacation & all of these problems added up left us feeling disappointed & frustrated.

After looking at a few hotels, we settled on Marriott for reliability and price. We told them we were on our honeymoon so they gave us a 1st floor handicapped room leading out to the patio. Sounded cool until we saw that the patio just led out to the back street. The room smelled like bleach & the worst part were roaches spotted as soon as I went to take a shower. I asked to be moved right away so they moved us up the hall.

They were really nice about everything, but I would not return.

Stayed during December 2012.

I travel for a living and have lived literally for years in hotels.  This is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.  The room, bed, jacuzzi, shower, balcony, etc. etc., etc. were excellent.  The staff was spotty as some folks didn't have the authority they needed while others didn't have a clue.

The restaurant had some great food and decent servers but their hostesses were horrible.  They had no clue what they were doing and left guests waiting and wondering whether they were even open.

Parking was great, the shuttle was perfect, and the grounds were immaculate.  As mentioned in other posts, the two rooms behind a master door lead to a lot of noise from your neighbor but it's not a big deal as long as you're in the big room.

Oddest thing about the whole experience and the main reason I can't rate a '5', we practically had to beg for towels and ration what they brought us.  Ridiculous but worth the hassle for such a nice property.

Worst concierge staff I have ever seen, far below the Marriott standard I have come to expect.  When we arrived, we went straight to the concierge desk with a small list of three activities we were interested in.  Although it was only three items, these activities totalled over $1000 so I expected the concierge to be somewhat engaged.  The first lady we talked to said that at 4:30 PM, everything was closed so we should just come back in the morning and talk to her co-worker since she herself would be off for the next couple of days.  I was shocked at her lack of interest but I was tired from the trip and figured I would just say something to the other concierge in the morning.  In the morning her co-worker, Joe, tells us that his computer has a virus and he doesn't know how to use the new one.  After waiting 45+ minutes we barely managed to get tickets to the tram before missing the shuttle downtown.    While neither of the concierges seemed to be the least bit interested in helping a guest schedule activities, they both seemed quite good at making excuses (so they do have skill afterall).  Key West is a great place to visit but research and book your itinerary yourself.  If you are looking for great service, look elsewhere.  When you find it please post so we will know where to go next time.

We stayed in a suite which was amazing - new, stylish, and comfy place. We just wanted to stay in the room instead of venturing out! Nice kitchen, dining room and couch area, plus the master was very spacious. The staff and service is grade A+. I can't say enough about how clean the room, grounds, and restaurant was, and how attentive and friendly the entire staff was - from housekeeping to wait staff. First, I have to say that we are already HUGE Marriott Rewards people - however, we stayed in a crappy Marriott property in Miami - so this review is really about THIS particular hotel.
We decided to host our destination wedding here - site unseen - and this hotel exceeded our expectations!
We had a bit of a bumpy road getting all our guests in the type of rooms they needed, but Maydel was so amazing to work with! She was always so helpful and worked with all our guests to ensure a wonderful stay.
Cara and Karli with the F&B staff were absolutely incredible! We were able to easily plan my wedding from across the country - as we live in Arizona! They recommended our Florist (incredible!), and our photographer (also amazing!) and their beach setting is truly magical! It was everything my husband and I were dreaming of!!
The rooms were incredible! And we were fortunate to get the Presidential Suite upgrade for being the bride & groom! The full kitchen and dining/living area were perfect for hosting our friends and family. The balcony overlooked their pier and water - truly gorgeous!
The pool area and cabanas were beautiful! it was so nice to have the private beach area! Right next to the hotel beach was a conveniently located small paddleboard and jet ski rental place - and we could charge the rentals to the room.
We are already planning our 1 yr anniversary - and we will definitely stay at this Marriott property next year!!
Thank you for making our destination wedding everything we ever dreamed it would be!

Make no mistake, this hotel met our needs.  There was a clean bed, cold A/C, and an unusually nice shower/tub combo.  But for the price, this hotel should have been much better.

Customer Service from the front desk was incredibly inconsistent.  Some folks were bubbling fonts of enthusiasm.  Others provided one word answers and were shockingly unhelpful.

The room we were issued is the most basic that is offered.  A king bed, not a suite, no ocean view.  What was odd was the fact that there is a small foyer shared with an adjoining room.  This setup was the source of lots of noise as other guests came and went.  They were being as quiet and considerate as possible, but it sounded like they were practically inside our room!

The location is not desirable and major construction has made it even worse.  Granted, you only need to look at a map to figure this out.  We knew before booking!  Still, it was a bigger nuisance than we thought it would be.

On the plus side, the pool bar and its staff were incredibly friendly, efficient, and surprisingly knowledgeable about the best spots in Key West.  Perhaps they can get hired on at the front desk?

We won't be back.  The "luxury" of this place was hardly a draw.  We'd prefer to be closer to the action near Old Town.

Wow! Beautiful rooms.  I liked the outside entrance to individual suites.  The rooms looked like they belonged in an upscale NYC hotel- an older look (they're very new) but small.  You don't notice the smaller size with the raised ceilings.  Details provided intimate touches that made the room that much more memorable.  The molding in the raised ceiling, the marble floors, the area rug, the dark wood furniture, the huge tub, the bathroom vanity, and the heavy wood doors all made this room worth its value.  The only nicer Marriotts I've been in are JW's and Ritz Carlton's.

There is a shuttle that goes to the airport and another that goes to Duval street until 11pm.  A great alternative to the jacked up cab prices on the island.

I ended up at the Marriot after some Pricelining, and I have to say that the service and amenities were great for the price.
From the moment I opened my car door, I was happily engaged by the staff. Similar to others' experiences, I arrived and was offered champagne while I checked in. I was quickly processed and provided wonderful directions.
After a slight rest, I hopped in the much-raved-about shuttle to go to Duval. In my experience, the shuttle was punctual in pick-ups, and a driver radioed for another shuttle after he filled his so people would not have to wait another hour.
When I returned tot he hotel, I decided to have a drink and a pizza at the restaurant. The beer selection was good, and the food was wonderful. Surprisingly, the food did not seem overpriced, though it is much more than one would pay on Duval.
I also enjoyed the pool area, where the staff was extremely attentive. If I had to make a suggestion, it would be to lower beer prices to $4 just because it makes it easier to tip. However, to be treated how I was I know requires some capital.
As for the rooms, they were nice. I was placed in a small room (what seemed to be a room that would normally come as a part of the three-bedroom suites typically rented by guests), but it was fine for me because I was alone. The amenities in the room do not disappoint, and a wonderful bathroom makes you feel like things are relaxed.
In the end, I would certainly return. If it were more than just me, I would probably opt for a larger room, unless closeness was the point of the trip.

One star for the wonderful service at the front desk

Minus one for the funky two room behind one main entry door for every room where you can hear all the loud ins and outs of other guests and the room being ultra-not-soundproof

Minus another two stars for putting me behind a shared door with a large scary man when I've indicated I'm stranded because of the storm and traveling by myself...  Not cool

The room was very nice but beware because you will be charged for everything during your stay. Continental breakfast is an added expense as is parking ($20) per night. The breakfast menu said it was $6 for a piece of fruit. "Beach front" does not mean they have beach access. There is a small area of sand bordering the ocean but no true beach. Also was a good distance from everything to do in Key West. Room was top notch but will not be back.

The pool area was great with inland beach access and water sport activities. 10 minutes from the heart of Key West.
The WiFi was OK, not very fast ,like most Marriott's. You could hook up direct to a LAN for a direct connection on your laptop.

We loved this hotel.  The property is beautiful.  The rooms were clean and absolutely gorgeous.  The service is outstanding--who doesn't love a glass a champagne when you check in?  While the property deserves five stars, there are two minor complains I have  1-We had a one bedroom suite.  Can you believe there isn't a full length mirror in this gigantic room?  Drove me nuts that we had this huge luxury room and there was no full length mirror.  2-Can you believe they charge $20 a day for parking?  We parked our car ourselves and they still charged to even have a car on the property.  Silly.  Would visit again and make sure I get a room with a stinkin' full length mirror.

We were pleased with the service provided by the staff at the Key West Marriott Beachside, but very disappointed by the "beach" lie. It's well known by locals that Key West is not known for its beaches, and to name a hotel with a "beach" like the Marriott has "beachside" is delusional. For out of towners and foreign tourists visiting the hotel, they are left with the impression that a rocky beach with swamp-like water and seaweed galore is what Florida's beaches have to offer. My family and I were not expecting much of a beach, but to see what the Marriott had to offer "beachside" was saddening. I really wish they would rename the hotel as to not distract from the hotel's other redeeming qualities -- beautiful accommodations, excellent service, good food and drinks, and a shuttle to and from Duval Street.

The most most most most horrible customer service I have ever come across! My cousin is spending thousands of dollars to have her wedding in Key West and at this hotel which had absolutely no customer service skills or the decency and respect for their guests. They didn't even offer a discount for the wedding guests. I called to reserve my room and was transferred to their sales desk who is supposedly located at the hotel...I was told this by two front desk employees. The sales woman was so rude in the first few seconds of my phone call. I asked her what the rates were like for a standard room in May, 2015. She lists two king  suites! I don't want suites, I want a regular room. Then I asked of she could repeat again and she says, "well I just told you" and then I asked for the government rate and she said that there was none available because it was sold out. I then asked if it sold out today or something? Because my friend just booked hers...then she says, "well you should have booked it when your friend booked it." I asked her to speak to a manager and she says, "I don't know which manager you want to talk to because I have many managers" so at this point I was really pissed and cursed at her saying, "transfer me to whatever god damn manager you are supposed to." But she didn't and hung up the phone. I then called the hotel back and talked to the director of sales and he was making excuses at first till I blasted him with my rudeness and he said he would walk over to the sales and make sure he talks to them. I told my cousin about what happened and she said that I was not the only one who had problems making reservations...over 6 people had the same issues. So my cousin talked to the GM and the director of sales and said that she will move her wedding if his shit continues. I recommend no one stay here because they have no people skills especially for the money you are paying for the uncouth staff.

Sorry, can't recommend this hotel.

I spent over $1300 for three nights in this hotel.  And I have been more satisfied at hotels for a third the price.

First, the good.  Pool was nice.  Hot tub was hot,  there were always towels there.  Ok, that is all.

Now for what I didn't like.  The front desk staff were inconsistent.  Job one for these people should be to make me comfortable and help me feel at home.  They were mostly cold and unconcerned.  I arrived, and my room was not ready.  After 20 minutes, they found me a room.  On the walkway.  Near the elevator.  And there is a strange setup where you enter one door to a foyer, then enter your room.  Strange.  But annoying when the person who shares the foyer with you comes home when you are sleeping.  The door closes and it sounds like it slammed in your ear.

They charge for parking.  Why?  Almost 20 bucks a night for self parking?  On property.  Again, why?

They have a shuttle to Duval St.  Great!  But if it doesn't have enough space?  Sorry out of luck, wait an hour.

My room was poorly cleaned.  One day, they did not replace my used glassware.  One day, they did not leave me a bath mat.

The room is not set up for business travelers.  There was no desk.  A table shared tabletop real estate with a satellite receiver.  An obvious lack of outlets.

I asked for a wake up call from the front desk staff.  They seemed annoyed I asked.  You know, that wake up call never came.  Luckily I set another alarm.

Breakfast buffet?  19 bucks.  No breakfast is worth that.  It should be included for what I paid.

No way I would retuen here.  A ripoff.  I get better service, a cleaner room, and friendlier staff at Hampton Inns.

we enjoyed our stay here.  I don't think its worth a $400/night price tag, and if you paid that much, you would be very disappointed.

we went on priceline, and got ours for around half that on a two night Monday check in.  The room was clean, not smelly.  the one thing I didn't like was the charge for parking, which I felt was unnecessary.  we are far enough from the crowded highly touristy Duvall street, that a 20/night fee wasn't justified.  there were plenty of parking spaces under the garage, so it wasn't as if parking was a high demand item.

kudos for serving starbucks coffee in the morning, complimentary.

And key west itself is a construction nightmare. But inside your room is a haven. Go! Stay here!

To anyone.  Clean and friendly.  The staff are some of the friendliest in a hotel that I've came across.  The pool staff is insanely accommodating.  They come around and serve you fresh fruit and cucumbers for your eyes. Along with spritzing your feet and cleaning your sunglasses for you. They have a free shuttle to duval street which is the hot spot here, it runs on the hour every hour and last pickup is at 11pm. A cab ranges from 12-15 bucks. The restaurant was the only diner I wasn't impressed with for
Breakfast.  I recommend getting the buffet for 18 bucks. All in all, a great place and would stay here again.

I'm not sure how anyone could recommend this hotel to someone unless they were upgraded to a fantastic room at a very low rate or only stayed at the hotel to sleep.
I gave the hotel 3 stars just because I appreciate the military (govt) discount even if it does only get us the smallest room. The room is very nice and comfortable and clean. And the bed and linens are the usual awesome Marriott quality! Ok, now the other stuff: $20 to self park or $30 for valet after paying your room rate and resort fee and taxes, ridiculous! Sharing a foyer with other guests that are coming in and out all night is horrible. Their private beach is a joke, I wouldn't even allow my kids to go in there. Their pool was nice but quite small for the size of the resort. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

I received a response from someone at this hotel after I wrote my last review.  The Marriott employee did not apologize for the not so great stay, but said he would forward the review on.  That's the first mistake in the service industry...always at least apologize.  I didn't write the review to get the attention of the hotel, but come on...if you're going to write back an apology is the easiest thing they could offer.

The manager of the hotel then contacted me and, after several questions to me through a few days of emails, she was able to bring up my reservation and offer 20,000 Marriott points for the inconvenience.  The reasons she said there was so much noise was because the building is hurricane-rated and the doors are mandated to shut without closers.  Also, the walls are extra thick and probably reduce cell phone coverage.  What about the wifi then?  Surely, they have tested their wifi or had other customers complain?  Although some of the hurricane reasons may be true, that just seemed like another way a customer service rep would politely shut up a customer.  There are ways to boost cell signals in concrete buildings that the carriers will even offer to pay for to serve their customers...I recommend that the hotel looks into some options.

She said she was not able to grant any more points but hoped we would consider them in the future again.  It felt like a used car dealership offering me free car mats while selling me a car at list price.  She also could not take care of the missed points from previous stays and did not offer even a phoen number to call to get this rectified (the front desks at other Marriotts did not record my stays so I would gain points).  Just poor service here.  Although I may consider this place next time I'm in Key West, I will undoubtedly look for other places first.  Just a shame..this place had potential.

We stayed in Sept 2012, and returned in Sept 2014 for anniversary and they were awesome again. Jeff and all of the desk staff, high marks- the usual complimentary champagne and iced cold water at desk- very refreshing and uncommon for a checkin process. I stay an average of 120 Marriott nights per year in last 10 yrs, these people care about their guests- that said we did (again) get a complimentary upgrade (and we had booked 4 nights King room all on points) to the Presidential Suite. We like to "hang- in" when we're away without kids and the balconies here are all somehow individually private with corners and palm trees- floor 1,2, or 3, all have unique vantage points. 3rd floor balconies have spiral stairs up to roof deck- which mostly overlooks HVAC units, but has really nice breezes at night! We cook, and with Publix less than a mile away- the kitchen gets heavy use.

Housekeeping was what we expect at the Marriott, very courteous with requests and did an outstanding job on our mid-stay cleanup. Marcus at the pool bar was the perfect bartender, the others need some work it was clear- but one great server can fix anything. Especially if he's "fixing Pain Killers" as good as Soggy Dollar bar in Jost Van Dyke. Continental Breakfast included for Gold/Platinum members was larger, fresher, and far more enticing than any standard hotel "continental". $5 upgrade per person and you get the full Monty on the hot side- again a super bargain. (We received a $10 credit for food when we checked in, which we used for breakfast upgrade the first morning)

You don't really need a car, most couples rent a scooter for 2- for half the car price and use the free air conditioned shuttle service to Duval. Our driver even took us directly to our reservation at a restaurant on the way to the normal drop off spot- free ( great opportunity to tip!) you can walk on the shuttle drinking whatever you like for the ride downtown.

The beach, well it's key west- but it's there and you can get waiter service, use real bathrooms and showers poolside, plus the pool is kept at a refreshing temp. Lots of natural shade, chairs and umbrellas. Kids will get bored easy, but for us it was perfect.

I really like this place, easy to fly right into key west or enjoy the ride down from Miami or Ft Lauderdale, whatever works for you. Most of the drive is like typical route 1 strip malls, but the last 1.5 hours is what you see on tv, long stretches across blue water! I like it, but on the short trips we fly in and land before noon.
If you're gold or platinum expect an upgrade (except high season) and complimentary parking. If you have a scooter park at bike rack area for free anyway. Overall we really enjoyed it again- I read some of the other reviews and I mention the status related rewards here only to point out to the many people looking for trips to use their points- they will hook you up here big time if you are Platinum!!
Lastly it's a tiny island, you will greatly improve your experience anywhere you go by tipping appropriately. Service is island style and speed, but most people are very nice and are making their living and supporting families on gratuities alone. Show them your appreciation and they will give it right back!

Let me just start off by saying, I have worked in the hospitality industry for 12 years so my standards for customer service are extremely high!!!! I stayed at this property back in October 2014 for my birthday. The property is beautiful the customer service is impeccable with the exception of the pool bar. When we checked in the front desk person was very engaging. She asked if we had been to KW before and gave us some great suggestions for the area. When placing my reservation I had told the person I would be there for my birthday. When walking in to the room it was gorgeous. Full kitchen, living area, bedroom with nice tub in the bathroom. Then I looked over at the bed, it was a birthday card and chocolates from the staff at the hotel!!! This to me is sooo amazing, it is the ultimate on in pure customer service. This is what makes people return again and again to places. The beds are ver comfortable, you just melt in to it. The FD agent also gave us a voucher for breakfast each morning. The next morning when we went down to breakfast the restaurant was very nice, I really like the way they have it set up. They have a buffet of eggs, bacon/sausage and a breakfast potatoes. Then you can also order any style eggs or omelets from the counter and the server will bring it over to you. (Full breakfast menu is also an option). After a full day sightseeing we decided to go out that night, since we would be drinking we did not not want to drive, we took the shuttle to Duval Street. The shuttle driver was nice and absolutely funny he had us cracking up the whole way. ( shuttle ends at mid-night so you just take a $20 can ride back). The next day we wanted to do some kind of water-sports, on the back beach area they have the Fury water-sports. So convenient not to have to go downtown and we can just walk to their stand and purchase any excursions. Ok so I still have this property 5 stars because this small minor issue would not stop me from returning but I feel like I still have to mention it. The pool is gorgeous it is salt water, 24 hours, and we spent most of our time in it. The pool bar service was not so great. We order drinks and it was taking 20-30 mins to get the drink if we even got it at all. There was one day where I had to go and get my own drink. Everyone was complaining. By the third day we would just knew better and got up and went to the bar ourselves. Other than that our stay was great. We are even planning to return again for my birthday 2015!!!

They ran out of rooms after we booked 2 queen beds. They gave us a king bed and sheets and a pillow to sleep on the floor. Unreal. I'm at a loss for words. With 2 adults and 2 children this is unacceptable.

We stayed here after an 8 day cruise to the southern Caribbean out of Miami. We got lost on Rosecrans, and decided to call the resort for help. Katherine was not much help at all. She was extremely sarcastic and overly annoyed at my quest for directions. Thankfully, I didn't let her less than acceptable attitude lure me away from staying at this amazing property.

I was floored by the Presidential suite.  The suite was thoughtfully decorated in modern decor. Loved the L-shaped couch in the living room, so comfy. I'm a foodie, so of course I feel in love with the kitchen; granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and a huge refrigerator. The terrace atop the balacony was a magnificient touch.

Loved the pool and man-made beach area. Too bad swimming in the beach is prohibited, but it is wonderful to layout and watch the sunset. Pool-side service is available and they frequent the area for your pleasure. My pina colada was pricey, but to be expected for a resort of this nature.

We were also able to take advantage of the onsite restaurant - Tavern n Town. It was absolutely fabulous. Such a classy restaurant and magnificent wait staff. The best part was that we were able to take advantage of the Early Bird Special. All (and I mean ALL) entrees were priced at $19.00 before 6:00 PM. SO worth it. Ordered a 16 oz rib-eye for $19. And, it came complete with all the fixin's - sauteed vegetables and macedemia mashed potatoes (OMG). We also ordered the Risotto which was on special. Again, FABULOUSITY!

The worst part about our time here was leaving. But I definitely plan on returning!

We got President Suite! OMG! Everything was superb! Decoration as well as the room!
The direction from the elevator to the room was horrible! Good luck finding your room. #523A means 2nd floor and not 5th. When we got off, it listed #600s series's! What the hec!

Hotel view was perfect! Hotel was next to the mangrove and NOT beach. Water was like a mirror, calm and clear!

Pool was nice! I would stay here again.

Parking is $30 so not good!

Breakfast included with the room and it costs $5 to pay for hot breakfast. Worthies! Staffs were all nice!

When in Key West stay here ... we spent two nights in a two bedroom suite and it was amazing;  everything had the comforts of home. Loved that our 3rd story room had a private tanning terrace on the 2nd floor of the balcony. Pool was great with plenty of lounge chairs.

If you are eating at the pool bar / pass on the chicken and burgers and go for the sandwhich list.

Also notable is the 24 hour market at the front desk simply for  the fact that they stock oreos if for nothing else .... and as my recent trip has taught me, if you have oreos you will likely get serenaded and get milk delivered to your room by gentlemen in neighboring balconies.

If you are lucky enough to stay in one of the larger rooms, this place is great! If you get stuck in the small ones, it is horrible.  Room is small, bathroom has no vanity, A/C is very loud and blows directly on the bed.  The people are great, it's not their fault.  The place was build as condos, went belly up and was bought out by Marriott.  These small rooms are a guest room, not a hotel room.

Very disappointing, especially considering that I paid $340 for a standard room on a Thursday, plus tax and resort fees. You pay $20 to park your own car, valet is $30 a day. The room was far from impressive, dark, sterile looking with people walking by our windows so we had to keep the blinds closed. I've paid half for far nicer accommodations in major cities. Our room didn't even have bottled water. The air conditioning was noisy, waking us up every time it kicked in. When it wasn't the AC, we would wake up by the 1989 refrigerator noise.

To top things off, our marble floor was covered entirely in sand. Oh, did I mention no hotel slippers? Before we left for dinner, I stopped at the front desk to ask for our floor to be swept. Upon returning, the main area had been swept but it seemed they simply swept the sand closer to the bed. When I spoke to the manager, he apologized and offered to pay for parking and breakfast. That's something but still won't make me return to this property.

In order to get to Duval Street, you can take the free hotel shuttle that runs every hour. It's at least a 20 minute ride each way, so consider this before you book. There is absolutely nothing in the local area that you can walk to. The road outside the hotel is a dusty construction mess.

The resort has a tiny beach that is separated from the water by a concrete wall, so you can't even swim in the ocean unless you jump off the boat dock. The pool area is pretty nice but largely occupied by families with a bunch of kids. It's an okay property if you're looking to be far far away from old town Key West but the quality of the beach is nothing to what we're used to in Miami.

Had breakfast here and what a nice buffet they offer. For $18 you get it all right down to a custom omelet. We stayed at the Hyatt next door but never again will stay at the Marriott the staff was 1st class and the property was immaculate.

Was feeling a bit adventurous today,so decided to stay overnight in Key West. I found a great deal for the night here so I booked it without a second thought.

So happy I did! The room is amazing. When entering the room there is a sense of opulence. All the feelings of being in your own home are present.

The room is extremely clean. King size bed is super comfy .

The pool area is amazing. The hotel offers beach access.  But not really beach more like Bay. Even still watching the sunset was priceless.

Also offered is a shuttle to Duval street. Which is very convenient because a cab ride will cost you about $15.

If staying in Key West I would high recommend.

This is my favorite place to stay in when in Keywest. Yes it is pricier than others, but the rooms are the most immaculate. The facility is run primarily by Russians/Ukraines who with their android customer service are polite and helpful. Breakfast runs at $15 and includes eggs, waffles, meats and juice. The room service menu is pretty tasty ($$$) including pizzas, salads and cocktails.

Checked into the hotel last night. Somehow had a mess up on the check-in date while booking online and the staff was very accommodating and helped fix the problem. We got upgraded to a really nice suite that included a full kitchen, laundry, etc. updated fixtures and bathroom supplies were much better than most hotels. It sucks we had such a short visit over night as I would have loved to try out the salt-water pool. I want to go back already! Keep in mind when booking that there isn't an actual beach like you may think right at the hotel.

First time at this property although a 22 year Marriott loyalist.
Check-in was efficient, friendly and fast. Unfortunately we were set up in a room which was smaller than most 3-Star hotels in Paris. This one overlooks the lobby driveway, not a great location.
Day 2: this is apparently a property built as condos, so the pool and sunning area were built to accommodate smaller crowds. By 10am every chair was taken. There is a very small sandy area with chairs, (not much of a beach), but Key West is NOT known for beaches. We did go on a jet ski tour with Fury Tours which is on property-had a blast.

I travel all the time for work and this place is the nicest I've stayed at. It is worth spending the money (or points) to stay in the suites overlooking the bay. We've been to Key West four times and only stay here.

Pros: The suites are large enough and nice enough for you to live in - literally they should've been high end condos. The rooms have washer/dryer, granite countertop kitchens with stainless steel appliances. There are two bathrooms (1.5 baths). The views of the bay are outstanding. There are jetski rentals on the beach (def recommend doing that... tons of fun!). The restaurant on site is very nice.

Cons: The pool does get crowded and there is only one so get there early and reserve your spot. The drinks are obviously pricey and watered down but that's sort of expected. The breakfast on site is expensive. Go downtown to a local place for half the dough and share the wealth with the locals.
