i would never stay at this place. it is old and not clean. should not be a Marriot property. Should be more like a motel 6. They are over price for old beat up property. The service is nothing great either. I would stay at one of the bread and breakfast in town.

We drove into Key West without a hotel thinking we would find a place without a problem considering it was the off season... bad move! The whole island was sold out and we were lucky enough to find a room at the courtyard Marriott. Check in was easy and we were given a room with a sliding door to the pool and jacuzzi. There is also a neat tiki bar at the pool that stays open till 10pm.  Cool Iguana's are everywhere!   They have a shuttle van which takes you downtown every 30 minutes, which is very convenient.

Free wi-fi is a plus.
The room was nice and clean.
Bed was comfortable.
A/C was awesome.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
AAA discount.

Overall no complaints.

7/23/10- We rented a room here for 2 nights because many hotels were sold out. Now I understand why this one wasn't!

You can here EVERYTHING. Our neighbors are SO LOUD that I can make out every word and tv station. Walls are SUPER THIN.

The hallways are stained all over, the room was dirty and tiny.

The staff doesn't speak a word of english and the front desk is a bunch of idiots.

I am just going to list my experience:

Booked this hotel on hotels.com with "Complimentary Breakfast" for almost $240 for one night. We called them and requested waterfront view which was guaranteed.

We land up at the hotel at night. For the hotel of this size, there was just one receptionist. There were about 10 people waiting in line! She was painfully slow - by the time our turn came, she gave us the keys and said "your room will be on the left somewhere" . Somewhere??? Why can't someone just escort us or at the very least give a map of the room?

Then she's like "Breakfast is not included". I fought but to no avail. Realized that we don't have much hope arguing with her.

Finding the room was a bigger pain . The rooms are numbered in a weird fashion and again - no help whatsoever!

Anyways - we thought we would get a "waterfront view " room till to our surprise our room had a parking lot behind it ! no water or view unless you love seeing cars all day :).

Clean, yes - the room was decent, but then we stayed at $100 a night hotels which were reasonably good. The receptionist was quite rude.

Not a good value for your money.

We had a nice stay for a business meeting in town. We had a key malfunction and they were so nice, the manager even walked us back to the room to make sure we go back in with no issues. The room was definably up to the Marriott Courtyard standards.

I'm wondering if I was at a different place than the other reviewer....My room was clean & we didn't hear anything from anyone. Clean sheets & towels, no ick on the carpet, the a/c worked, ample parking. The staff was nice. Easy Check in and check out. We had a free stay with Marriott points. Most people that stay here are business people.

Free shuttle to Duval street that leaves every half hour, so you don't have to worry about driving.

Please DO NOT go into this "hotel"l! Some MOTELS are actually much better. The website states that their rooms are almost sold out, NOT TRUE! The room we got are not like the pics on their web. We stayed there 2 nights and it has been a terrible experience. To start, the check-in was very slow and the place is totally beat up. This is NOT a Marriott hotel in those categories. We arrived, we were told that our room was not ready and that was almost 2 hours after the check-in time, it's such a shame! The room was totally depressing as well as the view on the parking lot. The room price was expensive. There is no counter space to put your vanity, the bathroom need a lot of work. However, the bed was comfortable, but that was the only good thing. It was a big disappointment! No wonder why this hotel wasn't sold out.

This is a great property with lovely staff and awesome views.  The shuttle to Duval runs every 30 minutes so you don't have to deal with Key West traffic.  This is a great place to stay when in Key West.

The GM is an idiot, and she's hiding behind the "we're a franchise" excuse, further compounding her stupidity.
Called Marriott Beachside for two reservation.  They only had one left, so they put me into a King Suite at Courtyard.  Took my credit card, no muss no fuss.  My guest that checked into Beachside had no problem.  My guests that tried to check into Courtyard were told that my credit card could not be used unless I was present, due to the lack of a Credit Card Authorization form.  None was sent to me, ergo, no form.  Plus, the King Suite was uninhabitable as the A/C had broken and spewed all over the rug.
So, I had to go down there in person to present my CC.  I couldn't even argue with the desk clerk, as I knew that was not going to get me anywhere.  So, waited until Monday, and had my wife call GM Anna.
My wife told me she was rude, and laughed, saying "What do you want me to do about it?"  Unbelievable!
Not only will I never, ever use this place under any circumstances, I will tell everyone that I know what a joke of hotel this is.

If you happen to be planning a vacation to the Keys. I would highly recommend staying at the Marriott Courtyard Key West. Great service, clean rooms and areas. Plus a free shuttles service, can't beat that.

We stayed there January 25- 1night. The check- in was good, people nice. We got the last king room. The room was average per say, but, the bathroom needed work. We took the free shuttle to the restaurants and back again. That was a nice service. Tired we went to bed at 10 and people came in at 1:30 am above us, it sounded like they were coming through the floor, every step and talking was disturbing. Last but not least, ANTS!

This place was very clean. But a lot of street noise from vehicles. Not a good place to go fishing. I went out for three hours all I caught was Barracudas. It was fun but not what I was fishing for. Make sure u have wading shoes. Be careful there's something in the grass that made me break out in a rash.

Clean and decent, pool and jacuzi are great. Expensive room $329/nite.
Located on main road, easy access but very noisy from hustle and bustle of that shopping plaza next by it. The room is very outdated, start putting money back and revive that place please, for all the money you charged for a room. Best of luck

This place is a dump! It's a refurbished motel that the Marriott slapped their name on. Rooms are SMALL. The toilet was like an airplane toilet. You enter your room from the parking lot which sucks. Their little Starbucks is a joke and their staff is rude. The only good thing was the shuttle to key west and the driver. Don't waste your points or money here!

I stay at Marriotts a lot.  This felt like a converted motor lodge.  The parking lot butts right up to the rooms and although I don't think there are exterior doors from the parking lot it feels like there were at one time.  The rooms are old and they have these eco-friendly toilets that barely flush.  Every time you touched the handle you were hoping for the best.  Tiny bathrooms.  Outdoor bar poolside was nice, but the bartender wasn't the happiest guy in the world.  I've been back to Key West twice since then and have chosen not to stay here.  Both this Courtyard and the Marriott Beachside are very disappointing in Key West.

I stumbled upon this place when I went down the key west for Fantasy Fest. Since it was last minute and a big event it was pretty expensive but the front desk clerk offered us a discount. The price was great for a last minute thing and the scenery was beautiful. Our room was amazing. And the staff was great. The front desk clerk called to make sure everything was great. It's a very nice place I'll definitely be back next year.

This is a rather outdated property. Cosmetic work has been done to the lobby and some of the room decor. But the bathrooms and some of the sofas reveal a motel in the 70's.

Quite over priced, but that's Key West. If you like Marriott try their newer properties in Key West.

Staff over all was quite helpful at check-in and around the hotel. Most of them had a hard time with English but positive attitude prevails. The only exception is the concierge. He was sitting around most of the day surfing his iphone. Attempts at getting advice resulted in a condescending attitude and and phrases like "What did I tell you!"  If you asked anything twice... Sort of like the soup Nazi from Seinfeld.
Only amusing aspect of the interaction with this bespectacled, middle aged man was to hear him tell you to look up stuff on the "Internet Exploder" instead of Chrome.

Hotel or motel!? This Courtyard is a hybrid, so if you are looking for that sort of experience then make your way down to this pathetic excuse of a Courtyard by Marriott. The best thing about this Courtyard is the new concept lobby with Starbucks but that's basically it. The rooms are small, the toilets sound like airplane toilet suctions, air conditioning is loud, beds are not comfortable and up to Courtyard standards and get ready for a noisy experience since the street is right next to the hotel and the walls are paper thin!  Oh and if you are looking for a hotel close to Duval then this is NOT a good place to stay since it's about a 10 minute car ride to the center of the key West action. Was it clean!? Yes it was. Was there a beach like it said on the website!? If you consider a sandbox  with water a beach, then I guess so. If you aren't a beach person (which you won't be after seeing the tiny, pathetic "beach" at the Courtyard), then you'll hang out at the pool which is actually one of the better things about the property. For $240 a night it was EXTREMELY disappointing, but I guess if there had to be a bright side at least parking was free ::thumbs up::

I would avoid this hotel at all costs! It's outdated, not up to Courtyard Marriott standards and too expensive for that hybrid hotel/motel experience!

Since staying at the Courtyard last year in July, I have stayed at the Marriott Beachside Resort, Fairfield by Marriott and Banyan Resort in downtown Key West (just off Duval Street). I would NEVER stay at the Courtyard in Keg West again and for the same price stay at the Banyan Resort which is a charming historic hotel that is 1,000 times nicer and is walking distance to EVERYTHING!

BTW, I checked on on Yelp at this location and a free breakfast sandwich coupon popped up on my screen. When I went to the front desk to redeem it, the rude front desk staff - Kelly - was not tech savvy and didn't understand the concept of a "check-in". THIS LOCATION DID NOT HONOR THE COUPON AND CHECKIN ON YELP!! Front desk staff said and I quote, "we do not accept this coupon. hey I just work here ::shrugged shoulders:: and there is nothing I can do. If you don't like it, you can eat breakfast somewhere else."  Duh there is something you can do and it is to honor then Yelp coupon.

This Courtyard is TERRIBLE and AVOID at all costs!!

I was here for 14 days and I had a great time!!! The staff was amazing, and the customer service was on point. Whatever I asked for it was given with no questions asked.

The staff was very approachable and nice with smiling faces... The staff was Very knowledgeable on the attractions that the island had to offer, and gave big discounts if booked through them.

I am not sure why anyone would rate this place lower than 5 stars, unless you are bougie little kid, who forgot where u came from!!! Would reccomend this place to anyone who wants a good time.

A gem in the sand. We loved it here. We didnt want to leave.
The front desk girls are very helpful. As soon as we walked into our room, they called us to make sure things were well.
Room was very comfortable. The housekeeping staff makes you little swans and doves with towels. Our room was facing the pool. Very fun and relaxing pool.
Our favorite shuttle driver was Linque. He is awesome.
The local tourist adviser was Elien. She is awesome as well. She is full of ideas and takes the extra time to make your trip a little more fun.

Hotel was clean. The layout is pretty slick. Hot tub is nice, good size pool. The bartenders are hawks on the alcohol due to them wanting you to buy room the bar. They have a shuttle bus that runs to and from one spot every 30 min. That's kind of nice. Staff were friendly. Power did go out for a bit though and the next day fire alarms went off. I'd stay again and just may do so when I head back down.
