This hotel is military lodging - so if you qualify, you may stay there.  My spouse is retired Navy reserves, so we qualify. Obviously, if you're active, you're good to go.  I know someone who currently works for a DOD department, and even though he's 'civilian', he qualifies as well. I believe we payed $99 a night (but don't quote me - It may vary according to your military status or availability!) in late February, which is peak season - so what a deal!

The room has two queen size beds, an efficiency kitchen with two burners, a microwave, a full sized refrigerator, plates, cups, pots and pans, and silverware.  There's a dining table that doubles as your 'office', a large closet area, and two large dressers.  The bathroom is new (at least in our room!).    There are laundry facilities available, a place to swim (it's rocky - however I enjoy it!), and of course, the wonderful Sunset Lounge ( yelp.com/biz/sunset-loun… ) that is a 2 minute walk.  There are decks on either side of the lodge, and a place to barbecue as well.

There's a commissary and a NAVEX which carries food and things like Vera Bradley purses at a great discount as well as clothing.  More importantly, there's an activity building where you can work out, as well as get discounts to local attractions - like a sunset sail, or the Ghost Tour, and many other opportunities.  Also, there are boats available to rent at a reasonable rate - if the wind is below 15 knots, and you pass the one page safety test.

We love this place.  The visitors are happy and polite, the staff is very accommodating, there's  several pots of coffee going and a snack-to-go breakfast if you show up between 6 and 9am downstairs, and the daily USA today.
