I came here for a 3-night stay with my wife and parents in April '12.  I chose this hotel based on the price and because I was looking for a 2-bedroom / 2-bathroom suite.  We stayed in one of the "garden" suites.  First off, the rooms and bathrooms are excellent!  Very clean and tidy, with plenty of room.  The living room/lounge area was nice, although we wished there was more than just a mini-fridge (no kitchenette, utensils, etc).  The free Wifi was sort of spotty and made for some frustrating occasions.  Parking wasn't bad, although one night we came back to the hotel around 10pm, and due to lack of room we had to park in the next-door Walgreens parking lot (but it's very close, so not really a big inconvenience).  The grounds and pools were beautiful, sort of like being in a private oasis.  Didn't try the restaurant.  Also, although it's waterfront, you can't really access the water from the hotel, and the "beach" is just lots of sand with pretty trees and chairs.  The location was ok for us...close to downtown, but a good distance away from the hustle and bustle.  We went to Key West during a pretty "quiet" week (the week after the major spring break vacations), so we were able to drive into downtown and find street parking very easily.  Overall, it's a pretty good hotel, but I wouldn't exactly call it a "resort".

I was very impressed with our 3br 3.5 bath waterfront bungalow.  It was decorated nicely and very clean and it was perfect for our family trip!  Plenty of room nice kitchen with appliances and utensils.  The resort fee is a little retarded if you ask me. The internet was slow but worked  in the room.  The only drawback is it doesn't have a beach to swim at. It has 4 small heated pools and a small bar/cafe by the biggest pool. Also I suggest renting a car to save on cab fare especially if you want to go to Duval st. or Mallory square. Overall I enjoyed my experience.

My husband and I visited Key West earlier this year and were looking for a place that was a little off the beaten path yet close enough to all the things we wanted to do in KW. We were just floored at how great this place is. It felt like it was straight out of a Hemingway book. The beach cottages were just gorgeous, like fully accommodated townhouses. And the pool area was outstanding. Quiet and lush, wonderful outdoor sculptures, a fantastic mix of indie/alt music. We spent lots of time just lounging and totally decompressing. I'd highly recommend The Parrot Key. Fab for a quick romantic getaway.

This place is just outstanding. Out of the way of the downtown hoopla, quiet, lush landscaping, yet only 10 minutes from Mallory Square, Duval Street and Southern Most Point. Love the grounds. The staff is wonderful . Several pools and a very nice bar serving food. All the amenities one needs. Great for kids, too. The green iguanas were a joy to watch . Bartenders are knowledgeable and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.

You get what  you pay for.....this is not a "resort" , it is a hotel.  Location is terrible, quite a ways outside of town and the charm of Key West.  No room service, restaurant/bar closes early and a phone call was needed daily to have towels/cups/etc replenished.  Expect the bare minimum here!  Water views were barely visible through the trees and there is no water access unless you are renting a jet ski.
On the plus side, the rooms were spacious....
If you want to feel like you are in Key West, don't stay here....

By searching on deal sites, we find that Parrot Key Resorts had a promotion offering luxury vacation cottages for cheap. We couldn't give up this deal so off we go to Key West.

Upon arrival, we were surprised how close the resort was to everything. Walgreens, which sold liquor, was next to the resort and Publix supermarket was across.

We park the car and had to walk for a bit to our rooms. The parking lot was a tad far from cottage 34. We had to pass palm trees, geckos and beautiful flowers.

This place was amazing. LCD TVs in every room, full kitchen with GE profile appliances, good artwork on the walls, and 4 swimming pools.  Yurp!

Once you walked into the resort you defiantly feel like you are secluded from the rest of the island. That made me not wanting to leave the resort.

The only negative thing is the housekeeping staff. They didn't look too happy when we made requests for extra sheets or dishwashing soap.

Oh, and the icemaker from the fridge didn't work. We had to requests bags of ice from the front desk.

Besides that, an amazing place to stay while at Key West.

Great place to stay while in key west. Rooms are very clean and cozy, "A" rooms are on the ground floor and the front door faces the pool, while the back door has its own patio and sandy backyard. There are 4 very nice, very secluded pools on site, and the largest has a bar and food available. There are jet skis on premises for around $100 an hour. The front desk staff is very helpful and happy to assist with any arrangements you may want to make. Location is about 2 miles from Duval st, but that is not a disadvantage in my opinion, it gets loud and crazy down there. Cannot wait to return to key west, and when we do, parrot key is the only place we will come.

The staff was very sweet!  Our room had a beautiful view.  The room was spacious and clean.  The exterior is absolutely adorable.  I was confused about a few things before we left, so just in case you are:  No, it would not be feasible to walk from here to the historic area.  No, you cannot dip your feet in the ocean here.  There is a view but no access.  Yes, it only takes a few minutes to drive from here to the historic area but current construction makes the return very confusing.  I would advise checking with staff for the recommended route.  Yes, parking in the historic area was a little complex.  We lucked up on all 3 visits and secured free street parking within a short walk to everything.  If you are planning to party....I would definitely recommend digging a little deeper in the wallet to see if you can secure a closer location to Duval or look into taxi rates.  But it seems like you really have to dig for a decent place with a better location.  This is a nice place for relaxing.  (Didn't even try the pool, we were enjoying sitting on our deck with a glass of wine and the view!)

This place is a contradiction.  Beautiful property, wonderful rooms, but absolutely nothing else. No services, awful "restaurant" and uninterested staff.

We were in Key West for a night and despite the reviews on Yelp, we choose Parrot Key.  Very expensive, so we expected a lot.  We got a beautiful room tastefully furnished, clean and in pristine condition. The pools are beautiful and the plantings really well done. Everything is clean and well maintained.

However, it all started falling apart as soon as we got to the front desk.  The room was not ready - "about 45 minutes" said the staff.  Two hours later after two more trips to the front desk, we finally got our key.

The pool "bar" was staffed by a grumpy bar maid.  The next morning the "bar" was the only "restaurant" available for breakfast.  The coffee was at best ok, but no cream only Coffee Mate. The only food was instant oatmeal or dry bland breakfast sandwiches microwaved.  There is no kitchen at all. The staff was different but had been trained at the same school - when asked if we could get the oatmeal with the sugar in the side, the answer literally was "nope". Ay. You'd think at this price you would get some basic ammenities and service.

If you do stay here avoid the "restaurant" at all costs! Even better, try something more interesting in downtown Key West.

My husband and I are here on vacation since 5/24 and will stay until Wednesday morning.  I give this place a 4 star because of the poor customer service I have received through out our stay.
The entire resort is very beautiful including the tri-level bungalows.
Since the moment we checked in, customer service was horrible. We arrived at 12 noon. There were 2 receptionist at the front desk. Not one of them notice us, until 10 minutes later, one stated " you are way too early, you have to give me time. " We were the only customers in line.
The girl helped us, and said she would call when our room was ready , but no call from the hotel.  We called them 3 hours later.
Tuesday- we are missing towels which were on the floor to be replaced.  We never got them. I also called the front desk for pool towel exchanges. We waited 20 minutes, no towels. My husband called the front desk 30 minutes later, no one answered. We figured they were busy. Called back another 5 minutes later, no call.
I consider myself a very patience person, but 35-40minutes! COME ON!
So, 40-45 minutes later, no towels, we decided to walk to the front desk.
Guess what, we were the only customers. All this time I  thought  they were being bombarded with customers. There is however one receptionist, chewing like an ugly cow & popping her gum. My husband says" Hello...."(I will not mention name of receptionist) to get her attention.  We finally receive pool towels.
I love the ambience of this hotel, very classy and elegant but the Customer service SUCKS BAD!! They need to hire new reception staff.

Stayed here recently on a trip to Key West, which is one of my all time vacation spots. When I checked in there was only one person at the front desk, so it took a bit of time to get everything together and i noticed throughout the stay that the place seemed to be understaffed. That being said the property is amazing. So quaint, the rooms were clean and adorable and the pools were great too (there are 3 or 4 on the property). The room had an adorable patio in the back with your own private space to catch some rays or have some drinks. The property is also located right next door to a Walgreens and liquor store, which came in handy.
One thing about the resort is that the restaurant closes super early, which is a bummer if you want a late night snack. I agree with other reviews on here about the not having the kind of service you would expect at a resort (spa, restaurant, valet, etc). I still had a great stay and we were not in our room all that much anyway. I would definitely come back.

overpriced for what you get.  Resort fees?  For what?  To use the bloody pool?  You've got to be kidding me.....

I guess we also should have checked the map prior to staying here, this place is over 2 miles away from Duval Street, so if you plan on doing things in the heart of Key West, you will have to drive there and pay for parking (expensive unless you can grab limited street parking), not really conducive to having a great time hanging out with the locals.

If you're going to just stay at the hotel and not do anything else, this would probably be a decent place to stay as it's relatively new and fairly clean (still not worth the amount of money you pay though).  However, if you're wanting to be in the thick of it and have a great time hanging out in the true Key West, try and find a guest house closer to Duval (there are lots of them) for the real Keys experience.  This will also allow you to save your money to go out snorkeling/diving/fishing/parasailing, etc, etc....all the fun things to do from the marina and to go out at night to take in all the live entertainment on Duval!

    Can we go back now?
    This place is simply amazing.
We got a 3 bedroom cottage. 3 floors, beautiful kitchen and very comfortable furniture.
Close enough to the grocery store to stock up and cook whenever you want.
We went for Fantasy Fest 2009, book early for occasions like this.
You're off a busy street and you wouldn't even notice it once you're on the grounds. They have a beautiful landscape and the ambient music puts your soul at ease.
I could spend a full week laying at the pool surrounded by the brush.
The rooms were extremely clean. Bathrooms were stocked. It can get pricey, but well worth it.

I am debating between 2 stars vs. 3 stars.   We were there on a busy weekend.

Bottom line:  Parrot Key was not all  that I expected it to be, given their beautiful website that shows these gorgeous rooms and expansive beach.  Overall was rather expensive for the value.

    1) Like other yelp reviewers said, there is no beach.   There is a strip of sand along 2 sides of the resort.  A few beach chairs.  I understand they cannot have a beach, but the impression we got from the website was VERY different -- both my wife and I were left with the impression that they had a nice beach.   A case of misleading / false advertising?

    2) Our room, 66A, was much more basic appearing than the impression I got from the website.   It fronted one of the pools.  What ticked me off is that there was dense shrubbery surrounding the pool.   So we could not see the pool, but we could HEAR everything -- it was loud enough so that we needed earplugs for our afternoon nap.  Again -- misleading advertising?

    3) they put a $200 charge for "incidentals" on your credit card.  Yes, they return that $200 if you don't have any drinks at the bar or eat at their restaurant.   But if you are close to your credit limit on your card, that 200 may prevent you from using your credit card elsewhere while you are on KW.

    4) they have a mandatory $25 "resort" fee.   Ok, I got parking and internet.  But for people who don't have cars and don't use the internet, this is a waste of money.

    5) the room had no carpet.   Makes it easy to clean, but I just prefer to walk on carpet with my bare feet.

    6) one good point -- the facilities are in very good condition.  Our room was clean.  Gotta give credit where it's due.

One last comment -- I looked through a lot of the reviews on yelp.  It seems that many people who gave this place 5 stars had one of the multi-level cottages, with a kitchen, etc.   I can't speak for the cottages, but the standard rooms were quite average.

Had a very nice stay with my wife and teenaged kids. The lovely lady's of the front desk are most helpful with spot on reco's for restaurants, scooter rentals and directions.  No smoking policy resort wide is nice but would be cool to have a designated spot to enjoy a cigar. Nice view of the sunset on back dock. On site restaurant needs significant improvement as the menu is very limited. Rooms were very nice and luxurious.

My husband and I loved this resort! It's not the biggest, but it's very comfy, adorable white picket fences everywhere. The rooms are very spacious and modern. Your back porch/balcony leads you to nothing but sand!
It has 4 relatively small pools, but at least you have the option of going to another one if one is too full. The rooms vary from 1-3 br and from 1-3 stories. It's great if you come with a big group of friends or just one other person. It's doesn't seem like a rowdy place, it was very quiet and laid back. It has a "Cafe" which I wasn't impressed with, the food was OK, but super-duper pricey. The biggest Con for us is that the whole place is smoke-free, I mean you can't even smoke by the pool  or the parking lot, you have to cross into the Walgreens' parking lot in order to smoke a cigarette, that was kind of annoying. All in all I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful landscaping is shaped to create rooms for the four pools coupled with lovely large units make up for the limited on-site food and beverage offerings at this property. Staff are pleasant, welcoming and helpful but seem at times over worked so be patient. This place s perfect for families who don't need to be proximate to the madness of Duval.

This hotel was picked based on the photos and website.  it sounded like paradise for my in laws.

The rooms were clean, spacious and had their own porch.  The porch on the back had a sandy back area which was great for small children that love to play.

The pool area was nice and clean and the pool was not overcrowded.

The Pros:  the rooms were spacious, clean, the bathrooms were spacious.  The resort was quiet and neatly laid out.

The Cons:  the beach mentioned on the website does not truly exist, the housekeeping does not have very good timing (the day we were their all day, they did not clean until about 3:00).  The location for going downtown for dinner is terrible, you end up paying the resort fee for parking and then parking downtown.  They should have a shuttle service or something to make the resort fee worthy.

I will go back to this place again and again for my future trips to the Keys.

My boyfriends sister found this place on the internet and we decided to give it a shot. I nearly cried in joy when we got to our beautiful 3 story, 3 bedroom cottage for our weeks stay.

A full kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, kitchen table and living with room with a wall mounted flat screen TV greeted us on the first floor.

Second floor with two bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathrooms and balconies [2nd bathroom was a bit small, but functional].

3rd floor loft bedroom with a HUGE closet and nice sized bathroom. Nice sized TV's in all rooms though we hardly used them because we were always out an about enjoying all that Key West had to offer.

The property has four pools of varying sizes. We only frequented the main pool next to the cafe, but none of the pools seemed to every be teeming with people and there were always available lounge chairs. Food at the cafe was good, a little expensive, but nice and convenient if you needed a bite to eat.

Location was on the north [new end] of the island so to get downtown you either had to drive or take a cab. Not a big deal for us as we found a great [and cheap, at least compared to Chicago standards] parking garage just about 4-5 blocks north of Duval that we used each day. Since you have a full kitchen you can take a quick walk across the street to the Winn Dixie and stock up on all your supplies and Walgreens is right next door as well.

Parking at the resort can get full in the evenings, but overflow parking is available at Walgreens [we only had to do this one night when we got back late].

Overall this is a wonderful resort, great amenities! We truly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to many future stays here.

Stayed here in March for a few days. The hotel is very nice and cozy, but a bit too simple.

The beds were very comfortable. The sandy outdoor deck was beautiful. The place has four small pools but they were nice and secluded, hidden between all the palm trees.

As nice as this hotel is, I would say it's a little overpriced (specially considering all the hotel fees).

    Dear Heaven on Earth,

WOW.  I don't even know where to begin, other than to say that this place was just A-MA-ZING.  I simply cannot wait to return!!

So part of our adventure was to not have anything in mind; to do everything on the fly and spontaneously.  Originally, we thought we were going to stop halfway down the Keys, but somewhere around Marathon we said, "F&*% it!  Let's keep going!".  So we kept driving, passing over the 7-mile bridge, and finally making our way into the Southernmost Point of the US, Key West.

As we approached the island, we began seeing the plethora of hotels and inns that Key West has to offer.  Unsure of where we would stay, we kept driving until we saw something that caught our eye...

From the street, you do not appear as much...  Located directly next to a Walgreen's (and having to use the same entrance), what actually caught our eye was your sign that said "4 Pools - Tiki Bar".  We were definitely starving at this point, having made it all the way from Miami without stopping for lunch (damn you Robbie's!!), and the thought of the Tiki bar with 4 pools sounded so tempting.

What a GREAT choice we made, as we found Heaven on Earth located within your resort called Parrot Key.  :)  The BF is charming and pulled a fast one ("We were overbooked at the Inn and they sent us over here"), which got us quality, and quick!, customer service.  Our Front Desk Attendant was Ursula.  She was extremely courteous, pleasant and efficient.  Within 5 minutes we had checked in and were making our way to our 3-bedroom HOUSE.

These are not just rooms, they are full blown houses!!  3 stories, 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths.  :)  Heaven.  Each room has its own private balcony, except the loft upstairs (3rd floor).  Also, each room (and the living room) has a flat screen plasma and satellite.

Each house has its own little private beach out back, with a couple of lounge chairs.  The porch and balconies have the most darling beach furniture that really just makes you feel like you've been transported somewhere else.  I could have stayed forever.

And speaking of which...  What's pretty interesting about this community is that you can actually buy one of the houses.  They start at $750,000 (yes, I asked)....  So I guess I really COULD have stayed there forever, had I wanted to pay 3/4 of a million bucks...  Maybe one day...

The entire complex is beautifully decorated and designed.  The pool areas are just divine, with these amazing wood doors for decoration, with a very tribal/ancient Inca theme/feel to it.  The Tiki Bar was beautiful, with blue marble counter-tops, beautiful art by local artists and these gorgeous butterflies hanging from the ceiling.

The property itself was gorgeous.  Not a dead flower to be seen, or greenery that was missing.  The tropical plants were abundant and the foliage as a whole was very lush and green.  It was just GORGEOUS.

We couldn't have asked for a better anniversary.  Parrot Key Resort, you really made it possible.  Thank you for the amazing memories.  We will be back for sure.

    All the Best,

So I am so over not being able to recieve wifi here (front desk: "I've heard that the signal is stronger at the pool. You might want to try there." Umm .. yeah. NO. It's 7pm and pouring rain. ) That is the final straw to make me write this review. But NOW I'm getting one bar. Haha. Irony.

So good things first: We had a 3 bedroom cottage at $399++ night. ($24 resort fee). The place is amazingly beautiful! Only 2 years old and filled to bursting with hanging vines, flowers and tropical trees. I mean really, really beautiful. I've traveled over the world and stayed in $1 rooms in Asia, 5 stars in Europe and I work at a 5 star myself.

Free laundromat. Gorgeous rooms. Beautiful home-sized granite and stainless kitchen. Easy to find. Lots of basics nearby, groceries, gas, franchise restaurants.

Now for the bad: There are a bunch of little things which happen at places. (for ex, front porch light was out. 'Course there was no bulb in it!) and no bellman. (We were told they "can provide that service if we need it". So the super nice male desk clerk did it. He was great our whole stay.) These things happen. NBD. I'm just gonna list the unacceptables. Like the desk clerk who acted like I was stupid (remember, I'm in the business) and said, "I can help you over HERE", though there were already guests in front of her terminal. Umm...  could she just have walked back and forth the 5 feet?

3rd bedroom was naked. Like they ran out of decorations. (OK, this one was acceptable but just weird...)

They advertise luxe iPod clock radios. 2 bedrooms had no clocks AT ALL. Forget the iPod radio. (They brought us 2 when I asked).

No hair dryers in 2 or 3rd bath. No bath mat in master or second bath. Only 1 bar of soap in baths. So if you want to wash your hands later, like I did, you have to step into the wet shower to get the soap bath.

No mat inside of front door during rain  Super safety hazard. I got an extra bath mat when they brought the missing ones.

No place to set soap on sink. Just lay it on the counter. NEXT TO THE PLASTIC CUPS! Excuuuuse me? Isn't that a classic joke about CHEAP hotels? I went downstairs and got glasses out of the kitchen. Geez.

If the parking lot is full they have "arranged" parking at Walgreens next door. It was pretty funny to see people pulling expensive luggage across the Walgreens parking lot. They explained that with multiple bedroom units, each unit will often have several cars. Ok. I get that. But could ya save me ONE SPOT to go with my $400 room? Couldn't every room have one reserved space??

SO I saved the worst for last:
First, the shampoos and lotions were not full. They were all at different levels  So they were either (1) refilled or (2) used by the prev guest and not replaced. Either way UGH. Second, the
the little area where you keep the dish scrubber on the front of the sink cabinet had water and ants in it. DOUBLE UGH.  And last, the dishwasher had food stuck inside and smelled like fish. OMG UGH.

Rooms are 5 star quality but service (besides front desk) is borderline rude and all the fees, auto gratuities (not mentioned), and lack of services like bell/concierge desk (thus you have to call a cab which takes 15-30 minutes to arrive) or room service really make the overall experience a 3.5.

First, the place is nice. They are a little deceiving. They advertise that your room opens up to the beach. It does not. They put some sand down between your room and the fence and shrubs. Second, this is a huge place. It is not a small boutique hotel. It is in a crowded dumpy area. They serve breakfast and lunch with a minimal menu. Expect major problems getting around the hotel till 2015 because of major  road construction causing one way traffic usually the wrong way. Also if you get in after 8 pm expect to park a long way from your car. I called after 11 for a wake up call. They do not provide that service. I have stayed at 100's of hotels and never had this happen. Our hair drier did not work. We called for a replacement. They never came. We waited for 1 1/2 hours for them.

Just about to check out after a three night stay. We are a family of three - a gay male couple and a 12 year old boy. Not the typical demographic for Key West.

My biggest complaint is the advertisement of this place as a "resort." It is NOT a resort. The website refers to spa services, a poolside restaurant, and a sports activity center - all things one would expect at a resort. One would also expect a concierge - there is none, however, this was not advertised. About a week before arrival, an email was sent from the hotel reminding us of our stay and requesting that we book services in advance. Curious, as there is no spa here.

Customer service is horrible where it exists and it is nearly nonexistent. At check in, two people at the counter, only one of which was working - not sure why the other one was there. We waited for ten minutes before even being acknowledged. No porters or valets, no help with baggage. The parking is free but the lot is woefully small for the number of rooms - fortunately, overflow parking is available on the adjacent Walgreens lot. Still its a long way from the car to the rooms and all rooms I saw required you to navigate a short flights of stairs so good luck if you have a wheelchair.

The layout of the rooms, grounds, and pools is charming and really captures the feel of Key West. The hotel is surprisingly quiet as it is right off the main road and right across the street from a shopping mall. This requires you to use a car or taxi for transportation, but in my opinion it is well worth it as you are far enough away from the rabble of dt Key West yet close enough to get where you need to.

There are 4 pools but at 6 PM three of them close. The last one is open until 10 PM. The pools are small, but there are ample chaise lounges and umbrellas and the break up of 4 pools spaced by gardens is much preferable to one large pool if you want to relax by the pool. There is NO pool service or supervision at all. NO one seems to even walk by to check on things, offer towels, or take drink or food orders. Again, something I would expect at a resort. In fact, no drinks or food of any kind is permitted in the pool areas outside of the "restaurant." You get 4 towels when you check in and if you dont have them when you check out you must pay $25 for each missing towel.

The restaurant: hardly. Only open for breakfast and lunch. First complaint - an 18% gratuity is added to the check but this is not advertised in the menu as Florida law requires. We had breakfast once. Apple juice was delivered in unopened mini juice bottles and plastic cups. Coffee was watery - the coffee we brewed in our rooms was better. We ordered three egg-cheese-bacon paninis with fruit cups. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive and there was hardly anyone there. It does not appear that the "restaurant" has a kitchen. The food was essentially precooked eggs and bacon that were microwaved then put between bread along with cheese and grilled, although the bread may have simply been toasted. No butter was added to the bread. The sandwich was terrible and costs $9! The fruit cup was pieces of bland watermelon, pineapple and strawberries. Nothing special, way over priced.

The fitness center is the typical treadmills and dumbbells - nice, clean, but not a "state of the art" fitness center.

The sports center is just an outpost of one of the many activity groups on the island. One person there - not very friendly.

The rooms are large and clean. The beds comfortable with lots of pillows. There are no closets but there is a tiny armoire with two hangers. There is a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. The TV is flat screen with lots of channels - no channel guide. The wifi service is adequate and easy to access but there are very few outlets in the room so staying connected and charged up can be a challenge, but my biggest complaint about the large rooms is the near absence of furniture. There's a long bench and a desk and chair. Just one end table between the beds. The ironing board sits against the wall in the room. A family of three needs a bit more than this.

The bathroom is clean and bright - best mirrors and lights for shaving. The shower is great, but three towel sets were all we got and plastic cups were not replaced.

Housekeeping seems to be on its own schedule and there is no "do not disturb" notice to use so you are at their mercy. One day our rooms were not made up until after 3 PM.

I would stay here again, but knowing what I now know about the place, my expectations would be more reasonable. I would not plan on eating here or expect any services. If you want a clean, comfortable quiet place to stay that is a sort drive from most activities - this is your place.

This was our 4th year staying here. To our surprise the resort is now more like a hotel chain. The 3 floor cottages are now non existent and we were not informed prior to stay.  The have split the cottages into a 1st Floor unit and 2nd Floor a 2 bedroom suite. No Kitchen or Kitchenette anymore.
The coffee bar area with mini fridge has no visable plug and if you want to get water you have to go to one of the bathrooms in the rooms for it and hope you can go to the one on the same floor instead of trekking to the 2nd floor bathroom if not in use, so NO WET BAR SINK. Please get one.

The beach towels are no longer plush resort stripped quality, but rather a sandpaper thin Walmart quality and you only get one unless you yourself walk to front desk to ask for more or a new one cause Housekeeping isn't told to replenish these.

There is no microwave, and the toaster has to be plugged in elsewhere for lack of proper electrical outlet design. The coffee pot was missing the lid, they did replace it with a new one but left the other unit there as well.

The POOL BAR makes great fish Tacos but the lady bartender is a dry persona with no customer service skill but I assume the GRATUITY INCLUDED red stamp in my receipt is to blame.

Our room rate was 249.00 but should have been a max if 150.00 cause RESORT it is not anymore. Very disappointed;( however was very happy to see same staff member BOOKER, who made the visit bareable.

We aren't a bunch of spoiled people but if you get guests used to top notch service and amenities and then take it away it will be missed. "GIVE US THE PICKLE"... Farrell's Customer Service Standards!

Nice little resort with superb quality rooms and very good service. Not cheap, but you get value for money. We had an amazing little beach house. Everything new, perfect air conditioning. They have five little pools where you can hideaway, relax and swim. Breakfast was good. The only thing we bothered about was that there is no beach - as you might expect from the description.

We stayed from from Wed - Sun. The place is in great condition and well-kept. It is definitely nice being on the outer perimeter of the island instead of the madness in the downtown section. As another person indicated a bike, car, taxi, or some other form of transportation will be required to get the downtown section. It was not a big deal for us though. It is a mostly quiet and great property for a family stay. Four pools and a nice poolside cafe with happy hour from 4pm - 6 pm.

Keep in mind, they are doing major road construction on N. Roosevelt Blvd. so the traffic, sidewalk, and biking conditions are greatly affected in a negative sense.

The pitfalls of this property come from a few sources. The rooms or buildings were not built in a manner to reduce noise. You can here EVERYTHING from your upstairs/downstairs and next door neighbors. Snoring, sex, bathroom and just conversations. Very annoying and be sure to bring ear plugs. You will need them.

The second pitfall comes with the level of customer service expected of a 300$ + a night room/resort. We tried to ask some questions from one of the concierges (female) and she would look at us like we had two heads. We wanted to know if the resort rented snorkeling gear. She told us if we took an excursion they provide it. Fair enough, but we asked if there was a nice quiet beach or location our family could go and picnic on the beach and snorkel. Hence, why we wanted to just rent snorkel gear not take an excursion. She then tried to direct us to the Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. We said we just wanted to rent some snorkel gear and find a quiet place on a beach. She recommend driving out to the Island Visitor Center.

The next customer service disaster was when we were out for the day only to come back and not be able to enter our room. The access keys that had worked in the morning no longer worked. I had to walk to the other end of the property to the reception. They only had two people working and long line of people checking in. We had been at the beach that we had to locate on our own for the day. My wife and daughter were waiting outside wet, tired, and getting cold. It took approx 10 minutes to speak with the customer service rep. She told me that someone had requested new keys. We had both keys and had been out all day and neither myself or my wife had requested new keys. They put two room doors behind one access door. I asked if the people in the adjoining room had requested a new key and why we were not called to come to the front desk for new keys. I also was concerned if someone had requested new keys and it was not us if someone had been into our room. She was barely apologetic and could not provide any answers other than I will have maint meet you back at the room to make sure the newly programmed keys work. Not very reassuring. There was nothing missing from room and the keys now worked but no concessions for the inconvenience and hassles and barely an apology.

The last item of less than expected customer service was trying to get the Reception to print out my wife's boarding pass. My wife travels globally for business and works with many different properties. All of which gladly will print out her boarding pass. When my wife asked if they would do this they directed her to the business center.

The last displeasing aspect was no privacy on the back porches. We had a lower level unit that had a back porch and sandy lounging area but there are not privacy dividers between you and your neighbors.

Overall, Parrot Key Resort does not provide the level of service expected for the price they demand for a stay....

Beautiful beautiful beautiful. At first I was skeptical with a name like Parrot Key. Sounds like one of those old dingy Miami hotels. Quite the opposite. It has a tropical feel to it. All the plants in the establishment are real. Yes even the ones in the rooms. The decor is beautiful and well manicured. You call tell that a good amount of money was put into the furniture. A great mind really thought it through as far as designing the Parrot Key. Great job! The rooms are spacious and colorful. It didn't feel like I was staying in a resort. The room had two rooms. One with a bed,TV and closet. Then the other living room style had a couch,TV,microwave and refrigerator. There are four swimming pools very well kept water is warm. At least try breakfast once. The food is fresh and the restaurant is neat looking. Big butterflies hanging form the ceiling. There isn't really an ocean view a little one I suppose. So don't expect a waterfront view. Just a glimpse. Overall its amazing! Spent most of the time out doors so not sure about the services they offered. (spa)

The room was excellent: clean, basic but nice decorated! They have 4 pools and all of them has connection each other but mainly private pools! Staff was friendly enough. Internet is fast, the have additional parking (Walgreens`s Parking Lot) .

The negative part of hotel`s are bugs(spider-moskitos) and no beach access !

This hotel is a very nice 3 to 3.5 star hotel.
It does NOT have 4 star amenities, such as:
    Room service
Full service kitchen (they have a pannini machine and microwave)
    Beach access
Full maid service daily (they vacuum and give a full clean every 4 nights)

The rooms are big. The staff at the bar/restaurant are terrific. The pools are warm, clean, peaceful and you can always get a seat.

When I was looking to book a hotel in Key West or somewhere near, this was one of the multiple links that my girlfriend sent me. Some of the other hotels seemed great, however this place really stood out. Their website was well-done, informative and just looked overall legitimate.

After a bit of procrastination, I finally call up the hotel on my daily walk with my dog. One of the few times in my day I get free time. From the moment I called the booking hotline(I don't trust online booking, ALWAYS call directly and compare). The person on the other end of the line was extremely helpful and accomodating. I received a 25% discount on the room rate for reasons unbeknownst to me, but I wasn't complaining.

So after a drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West, we arrive at Parrot Key, legitimately 2miles or so from all of the downtown fun. It wasn't RIGHT on the water in downtown like the Hyatt and Westin, but as soon as we pulled up, I knew it would be worth it. The hotel is actually pretty expansive, however it's very cleverly hidden and cloaked with copious amounts of palm trees. It looks more like a bed and breakfast than anything, but that is the outside feel.

The room I booked was a 'King Waterfront Suite', which sounds hoity toity, but being from Atlantic City, I'm used to seeing 'Ultra Deluxe Baller' and getting 'Motel 6'. This was not the case. This was a KING suite.

When we walked up to our building, it had a southern bed and breakfast feel still, but we noticed that our door had 2 room numbers on it. I immediately went 'uh oh, I'm getting hosed' in my head. But when we walked into the front door, it was a vestibule style area and our room door was on the left. We walk in and I see a staircase. Ok, that sort of excited me. We walk upstairs and BOOM. Our room was...well, BIG to say the LEAST.

A bedroom w/ balcony and a waterfront view. I mean, SERIOUS waterfront view(Will attach pictures). Gigantic king bed. The bathroom was exemplary, with a jacuzzi tub and glass/marble shower.

There was a complete living room on the other side down the hallway and much to our HUGE surprise, there was a SECOND LEVEL(technically the third level of the building). This level had a full bedroom and bathroom as well. I was completely unaware of this, if I had known I would've invited another couple along.

As far as amenities go, I can't comment on all of them because when you go to Key West, you don't hang out in the room. The pool at night time is amazing and you can walk on the white sandy beaches that are part of the resort.

The fact that my girlfriend and I got chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows from Winn-Dixie across the street and had a candlelit s'mores date on our balcony late at night was the perfect way to top it all off, despite ALL of the activities we did in Key West, that was my fondest memory. Absolutely amazing.

Parrot Key, you did well and you exceeded my expectations. You receive 4 out of 5 merely because I cannot give a 5 due to the fact that I didn't take part in all of your offerings. Everything I did take advantage of, you pleased us. Very much.

Front desk staff (Jacinta) was beyond friendly and helpful. Stayed in 12 and room was HUGE!! Got a double queen (garden room?) and had more than enough space for the 3 of us. AC unit worked so good we had to turn it down and it was in the 90's everyday! Everything was very modern and clean. Walls are def thin, can hear ppl coming in and out (each door is shared upstairs and downstairs rooms). Beach in back was ok. Views don't matter unless you get rooms in the 30's. Had so much to see in the area never got to experience their 4 pools :/ Parking was good, overflow goes into Walgreens which is not even a 2min walk. A lot of construction though on N. Roos Blvd. Overall excellent experience. Would recommend and stay there again!

Great place to stay! Cute and comfy! There is no beach but it's a decent view. Fridge stayed a little cooler than room temperature but at least the hotel has free ice so bring a cooler! Front desk was very nice and big help finding places... Thanks to yelp I did not use their water sports services and went with barefoot Billy's instead.. Pools were small bit relaxing and a good temperature. The gardens and decor surrounding the pools were gorgeous as well. There's no shuttle to take you into town and yes there's still construction on the road but nothing to make me upset about... Over flow parking in the Walgreens lot next door not that bad of a walk and hey at least the parking is free! Never ate or drank at the tiki bar or the cafe.

Awesome little place, very reasonably priced and very comfortable for families. we had a two room suite with two bathrooms which is fantastic when traveling with more than two people. 4 pools to choose from; two were mainly very quiet and the other two were active and had families, everyone enjoying.

bad news is that it's a bit too far from all the action of Key West. You'll have to rent a moped or take a taxi. Neither is expensive, just a pain because they've just started road constructions and they are one-way, lots of traffic and just a bit of a hassle to get to Duval street and others where the site seeing and activities are taking place.

and, "beach view" or "beach front" is a bit misleading because there are no true beaches; you can't get to the water from "beach". So, distance to downtown and no beach were the only draw backs. Otherwise, great place! Oh, and the wifi was free - nice touch!!

This is my go to place to stay at when visiting Key West with the family.

I am able to get a 2 or 3 bedroom villa for 1/3 the price as the Duval street hotels and the place is way nicer.

The property is immaculate, the living room and all bedrooms have flat screen tvs, the kitchen is large with granite counter tops, there is free wi-fi, large central pool, laundry room, good parking, and a tropical theme.

There is no beach here and it is about 1-2 miles away from downtown Key West, but for a relaxing place to stay for a bargain, this is my favorite place to stay in Key West.

Really a mixed bag.  We made a last minute reservation on Hotwire for $169 on a Saturday night which seems to be a substantial discount off their rack rate.  If I had paid full price, it would be a 2 star review.  Upon checkin, the girls at the desk were very nice and friendly, checkin was slowed by the hotwire thing.  They gave us an upgrade to a 2br suite, but wrote the wrong room number on the key sleeve.  We ended up interrupting two naked old dudes that were apparently expecting more naked old dudes.  You simply cannot unring the bell.  So, we went back to the desk, which of course was closed, so we had to call, they had to come out, make us new keys, yadda, yadda, yadda.

The place is very keysy, and the rooms, furnishings, etc, very impressive at first glance.  Unfortunately, the place is not very clean, and the housekeeping supervisor should be working at McDonalds.  The dust on the AC vents is absolutely shocking.  You can just tell there is no eye for detail here.  Sheets were not as clean as you would expect at this level of property.

The next morning, I went to the desk to request a late checkout.  The girl was very nice and accommodating, while the gentleman couldn't even muster a "good morning".

Although we didn't use them, the pools looked well maintained.

In summary, I think for this rate I would go back to the Cuban Club Suites.

    LOVED IT!!!

Stayed at PK this past weekend. The room was great. Spacious, cool, comfortable, view!

I told them in advance I would be proposing to my girlfriend and they gave me a room with a fantastic view of the ocean.

AC definitely worked, which is an essential element to being comfortable in the Keys during the summer. Note: the vent tends to blow on the bed.

As some have noted in their reviews, there is construction occurring on the road outside of the hotel. We didn't hear any noise, nor did this cause us any problems getting to downtown.

The rooms are a bit more expensive than other places in KY, but, you make up for it with the free parking, which can run up to 2.50 an hour. Ouch!

The service was great. Everyone was friendly, especially the front desk and bar staff.

Looking forward to staying with them in the future!

Not a bad place to stay.  Comfortable accommodations with prompt and helpful staff. The backyard mini sand stretch is charming, but beware - most rooms do not have that.

Another positive is that Walgreens and a few other stores / shopping areas are very close by.

Main negative is that there's no bean access whatsoever and that Duval st. / down town is a good 15 min drive - nothing cool and tourist worthy in the walk area radius.

Stayed here during a long weekend trip to Key West.  I didn't make the reservations and did not deal with the staff personally at all, so I can't comment on that.

The "rooms" were very nice; more like a duplex.  We had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  One bedroom had it's own balcony (the "master", I'm assuming) and there was a second balcony off of the living room.  The suite came equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.  Each room had its own TV in addition to a larger one in the main room.  The bedrooms were decorated in a minimalist but tasteful way-- and both bathrooms were large.  It's worth noting that everything was clean and I didn't see any bugs during my stay.

Parrot Key offers 4 pools; there's an ample number of lounge chairs and they're beautifully decorated-- feels very tropical-Secret Garden-ey.  All of the pools themselves are small, though-- and tend to get uncomfortably warm.  I did not see staff at all while I was there.

Not sure about the complaints about proximity to Duvall Street; our group rented bicycles and did not move the car at all once we arrived.  The bike ride to the busier parts of town isn't bad and allows you to not have to deal with finding parking, PAYING for parking, or paying a cab.  You can chain up just about anywhere!  The bikes were $18/day and $10 each additional day.  They were arranged through the front office and delivered and chained up infront of our rooms.

My one complaint about the location is there's no beach access on property!

While the suite we stayed in was nice and very reasonably priced, I would be hesitant to call Parrot Key a true resort.  There was no real dining, no spa, no valet-- none of the ammenities that most people think of when they hear "resort".  I would have expected drink service by the pools, room service to be avilable, shuttles to take you around the Island, etc.

All in all, it's a great place to rest your head in between your outdoor adventures off of the property.

Be ready to park in tje walgreens parking lot. Construction in the area has detours. They say they have a beach however they really dont. Use your room key to get ice and the frig is warm.

Now the big stuff housekeeping is horrible and very loud with slamming doors all morning, had to call the front desk to keep them queit. Food and drinks are way over priced and the pools are small.

I think PK's overall rating of 3 1/2 stars is right on. We've stayed several places around the island and although this one was fine it's now on the 'tried it, moving on' list. We liked our room and found the service to be adequate-plus: for instance they called us in the evening after we hadn't order cleaning that day to see if we needed anything. I appreciate that sort of thing. There's also a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster in this room and not all hotels in KW, even in this price range, offer that. Another plus: there's a Walgreen's right next door.  It's not close to Duval Street but to me that's not a bad thing. Besides, why write in your review that 'it's too far' and 'getting a cab is too expensive'? Those are things you should have known when you booked this hotel. We like to rent scooters for the week (plug: Pirate Scooter) and toodle around. Parking here's not a problem if you are on a scooter.

We got a good weekday rate but the weekend rate is pretty unbelievable considering the following things are missing and many other hotels in the $350/weekend night price range offer:
No shuttle to airport or downtown.
    No room service.
'Restaurant' closes at 5. It's really just a poolside cafe.
About two people can fit comfortably in the 'fitness center'.
The balcony seems like a great feature but they're so close together you can look into your neighbors's room when you step out. Yikes!

Do not be fooled by the pictures! I booked this hotel for my boyfriends birthday. A king waterfront suite with a fridge and microwave. I could only see the water with a ladder. I showed up with $150 worth of groceries. The refrigerator according to them was not meant to cool. I got a refund and for the less!! Came to the southern most hotel, rented a king bedroom suite with a balcony. The only room on the 3rd floor. Amazing!!! Won't make that mistake again.

My wife and I stayed at this resort for five days in mid June 2014. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything was exactly as pictured on their web site. It included central air with a thermostat you could adjust. Also a mini-mini fridge, toaster, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was very comfortable. The grounds were lushly landscaped and the four salt water swimming pools were great!

We had a second floor King suite with an ocean view. If you were on the first floor your view would be limited by the vegetation growing at the waters edge but you would be walking out of the room onto a strip of white sand beach with chairs and umbrellas including a "sunset pier". I use the term beach loosely because it does not extend into the water. It is not intended to go swimming there. Key West is all rocky with no natural beaches. They are all man made.

The cafe was nice. Our package included breakfast vouchers so we ate there at least once per day. The food on average was good but not great. The waffle was very good and my wife liked the omelets and scrambled eggs. I also like the ceaser's salad and the fruit plate. The wraps offered for breakfast or lunch were just OK but that may be just me. The prices were a little high but that is to be expected at a resort like this. It was offset by the atmosphere. You could go across the street to a sports bar that I will not name and get an excellent hamburger in an over cooled, noisy, raucous, environment while sitting on a hard wooden chair for $12.00 or get an excellent hamburger for $15.00 in lush surroundings while sitting on a comfortable, padded chair listening to soft music. Take your pick.

The parking is a little limited but if the lot is full you can park in the Walgreens lot next door in the designated areas. You would not know it was that close as it is hidden by foliage but it sure is convenient to have it that nearby if you need something.

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the internet access. The WiFi coverage was excellent with a strong signal everywhere but the internet response varied from excellent to near standstill. Not that big of a deal as I was not there to surf the internet.

I am giving a five star rating on the strength of the basics. A clean comfortable room that was exactly as advertised.

We got terrible service from this place. We made a reservation for a King with view and got a double with a little deck leading to sand and bushes. On top of that, they wanted to charge us for a double room when we had requested a King (we had called to make the change, and they had a record of the call but not the content and admitted it to us!). We also saw that very night that their advertised rates on the Internet were lower for a double than what they were charging us, but they refused to honor that Internet rate. The front desk staff was rude and indifferent to our plight. This was for our 36th wedding anniversary, and we had to go and stay at a B&B that had availability. This was in December of 2013, and we are still trying to get our money back because they refused to refund us.

The front desk staff is amazing and friendly, everyone else seems less than happy to be there working.

You have to park in the neighboring Walgreens parking lot, which sucks for a "resort".

Pool areas are nice and well maintained. But the pool bar serves small drinks for $14 a piece. They are SO overpriced.

If you need something extra or to have something corrected in your room. Our fridge was warm and never got cold. Room service never showed up with an extra pillow when requested.

The biggest issue is the lack of cooling for the third floor rooms. If you are in the bedroom all the way at the top, except to sweat. It has 1 small vent to cool the room and is about 10 degrees difference between the top floor and the main area. It really needs its own AC unit to even come close to being comfortable.

    Beach access? Not even close.

My girlfriend and I traveled from Miami to Key west and were disappointed to say the least!!!!! Told us on the phone they're was an amazing view of the Ocean not bushes!!!!! Room was super nice but the view of the bushes and boats weren't what we were expecting at all!!!! They told us it's the best resort in Key West and I'd say it's the worst unlikely you enjoy looking at bushes and nothing essentially!!!!! Go to Casa Marina if you want the full experience of Key West which is absolutely amazing:) Last but not least they held $1,200 on my girlfriends CC and wasn't released until yesterday because they didn't take care of it!!!!!! My girlfriend did which took an hour if not more!!!!!! All we got was an apology which is not how you take care of people!!!! We didn't care that you had a new person that screwed up!!!!! Never ever, ever, ever going back to this place!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy:)

This hotel is extremely overpriced and really nickel and dimes you for everything - not a four star experience. For the same price you could stay at the Hyatt or Casa Marina and I would recommend doing so. We used booking.com and then found out they charge an extra 25 per night for "services". The services don't even work - wifi was down this morning. The bed was uncomfortable, there was a yapping dog next door (despite "no pets" policy), the coffee terrible, the "sunset pier" does not exhibit the sunset. I could go on and on. The pool was nice but what an overpriced cafe! A tip - do not take a taxi if you have a car, it costs $4 per person for a 5 min drive!

Due to a mix up on Expedia I booked two rooms in error instead of 1 room for 2 nights.  Very disappointed that they were not willing to help me with my double booking situation.  After a very long time waiting for an answer - they weren't willing to do ANYTHING for me.   This worked out to me paying $500 for a single night.   Customer service is really, really lacking.    I do agree with the viewpoints of others here that this place is a bit of a rip off.

Do your research before you go so you realize what you're signing up for. This is not downtown, you are a ways from it.

If you want a place out of the way, this is it. We had a two bedroom suite and it was great. It's not perfect but there is enough good to overlook the shortcomings

    - The four pools on property. So much nicer than one large pool. They each feel like their own private oasis. Nicely kept with lush surroundings. The drinks at the pool are expensive, which is typical, but stiff! Happy hour daily where drinks are 2 for 1. It says no outside drinks but ummm... Yeah.
    - It's clean. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about, everything about our room was clean. The housekeeping does come at random times but whatever, everyone is on island time.
    - The complimentary shampoo, conditioner and all is wonderful.
    - Conveniently close to groceries, walgreens, booze and some places to get a quick bite to eat.
    - Right on a busy road but yet as soon as you're on the property, you feel tucked away from all the noise.
    - The grounds are gorgeous. From the pool to the man made beach area and gardens, very nice.
    - All staff were very friendly, no complaints.
    - They work directly with Sunset watersports, which has very mixed reviews on here but we had nothing but good experiences. A few of the excursions leave right from the property which is great.
    - Free shuttle to the beach

    Wish it were different..
    - The wifi sucks, and not everyone gets good cell service.
    - A shuttle to downtown would be ideal! Even if it just ran twice a day, it would make this place PERFECT.
    - Hardly any furniture. I know that sounds weird but sometimes I found myself running out of places to put items.
    - Our kitchen area was really small. I would have loved a sink area for such a large suite and something larger than the world's smallest mini fridge.

    Overall, this place was great!

It was sooo clean, quite, friendly, and beautiful!! We went to multiple resorts during our stay just to look around and this was by far the best resort. The room was huge! The pictures don't do it justice. It was very tastefully decorated. The view from any porch or room was fantastic and sooo much foliage. We had a two bedroom unit on the second floor looking out at the ocean. It was very affordable as well. Really a great place and would never think to stay anywhere but there in the future. Also the fact that Walgreens is hidden right by the resort (literally a minute walk) was really convenient. It was nice to escape the energy of the Key West while still only being a few minutes from Duval.

Booked this hotel last minute. What a terrible mistake.  The front staff was rude from beginning to end. They didn't seem to care about their guest and every question seemed to put them out. . Rooms needed painting. Entire property needs To be kept up. Our second day at the hotel there was a group of rude drunk loud cursing and obnoxious guests at one of the 4 pools I had to call the front office 3 times to ask the hotel staff to intervene. They are supposed to be "family friendly" hotel. They did nothing until I threatened that I wanted a refund on my third call.  Had to ask for towels each day of our 3 night stay.  Overall a horrible experience. Way overpriced and the website video is very deceiving. Would never recommend this place. I would of given it no stars of It was an option.

On our first trip to key west, this hotel was the most memorable part of our trip.  The view, the staff, the entire vibe of the hotel was just incredible.  Pictures can not do the view justice.  Palm trees, sand, the water (worth the little extra because there's also garden view).  If you just want to relax and unwind, this is the place.  You have your own private little porch.  It's so clean and tidy.  Modern yet cozy.  Highly recommend!

Great place to stay - it was all we expected .... Except... We booked a ocean view suite and were given 20B. Probably the only one without a view!!!!! Four large palm trees totally blocked the ocean view.
Would return .... But would definitely avoid 20B

Beautiful room and 4 great saltwater pools. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. It is almost 2 miles from the downtown area. I had trouble getting a cab one day and decided to walk. It took about 40 minutes, wasn't too bad. There is no beach which is a drawback but my room did have a nice sandy area overlooking the ocean with chairs to sunbathe on. It was very peaceful and had a great view. The room was very nice but did not have light blocking shades which I like to have. Overall enjoyed my experience and would return.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was amazing. Stayed in 2 br/2ba garden suite. This room had a front and rear balcony.

Be advised that your card will have a $50 hold put on it if you book through a travel site, and there is a $25 resort fee. I also had 2 holds of $187 put on to my card that I was not informed of, and when i called to ask about it they "couldn't see it" in their computers and had no idea what I was talking about. These charges of about $340, that I was not aware of, put my account into over draft and it has me a nightmare trying to get it fixed. Be aware of what they are putting on your card.

Also parking is limited but you can park next door at Walgreens without being towed because they give you a parking pass.

    OK level "resort".

Close to 5-guys burgers, Domino's Pizza, and a Walgreens for your daily needs.

    They have swimming pool.
    - We didn't have chance to take advantage of that since that was only one night and was late.

    Good selections of TV.
    - I rarely see resort's TV got TruTV, am I too shallow? lol.

    Limited parking spaces.
    - But you can park to Walgreen's on its neighbor. It's on resort's map.

Resort fee of $25 each day.
    - Unnecessary.

Some parts in room are bit dated.

    WiFi is HORRIBLE.

Don't be fooled by this place, it's a total rip off. We made reservations for our 36 wedding anniversary, ahead of time. Earlier we had called to down grade from a suite with two queen beds to a single with King size bed. When we got there they were charging us $520/night when their advertised rate on the web was $320/night. They refused honor the rate on the web, and since we refused to take the room they ripped us off without even blinking an eye. Do you really want to do business with people like this?

You will see I'm not the only one......

    The bad:

The location!  It you want to go downtown, it is a $20 cab ride minimum (each way).  It took forever to get a cab to pick us up and it was even more difficult to get a cab to pick us up.

The upstairs bedroom was either hot or cold, there was no happy medium and the room seemed damp.

The curtains did not block out the sun.

Both bathrooms are inside the bedrooms so you have to go into someone's bedroom to use the bathroom.

The towels were dirty, most had hair on them.  So gross!

There was no sink in the bar area, there was a fridge, that was it.  If you need to use a sink you had to go into a bathroom inside the bedroom.

Parking is minimal, if you come home late, plan to have no where to park.

The poolside food was AWFUL and overpriced.

The price for the rooms was very high, granted we went there for bike week, but we paid $350/night!

    The good:

There were multiple pools and they were beautiful.

I liked the living room and the balcony.

We stayed at this resort for two nights. When I checked in I was asked for $25 resort fee per night. I was told it was for utilities such as pools and WIFI. OK, I didn't look at fine prints closely when I booked it through orbitz but I didn't think too much of it.

Except that the WIFI did not work. We didn't get to use any of the "utilities" except WIFI, but it was slow and unreliable and eventually outright broken.

I didn't want to make a big deal out of it (it's not like we sat in the room all day trying to use WIFI), so I just casually complained about it when I checked out. The front desk girl was smiling and saying "thank you" until she heard my complaint and her expression visibly changed. She coldly told me "there was a ticket on it". When I said I paid $25 for utilities that did not work, she said "$25 is the resort fee and WIFI is free". Wow. So when they ask for money they come up with one story and now another? It's more insulting than the broken WIFI itself. If I'd give it a 3 star before, I'd give it 1 star now.

Lovely property! We had an amazing time. Rooms were spacious and clean. There is a grocery store right across the street which was handy. Two suggestions though: out of 4 pools, they should make 1 of them an adult pool. Loud kids screaming and jumping into the pool at all 4 pools? It got to be a bit much. It was hard to relax with all the commotion. Also, they should offer room service from the on site cafe.

We got a two bedroom beach front villa for a night out of the week we were in Marathon. It was awesome! The villa is immaculate, as is the grounds. Pools are salt water and wifi works great. Right next to a Walgreen's and across the street from grocery store and a few restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

I give it three stars because I think four is just too much considering the price of this stay. $500 and some change a night for a two bedroom. Beautiful setup. Very key west colors and ambiance. But The furniture is run down. Stained cushions in the rooms and outdoors. Very small fridge in the room. Won't even hold a six pack. The concierge and front desk were always helpful. They saw us every day because our room keys were always demagnetizing.
The cafe by the pool is spacious and cool. But the service was tough. I had a great server named dean who was very attentive by he was constantly being scolded by his manager. And in front of us, the guests. My heart broke for him. And the boss also gave a customer a hard time about bringing back the silly plastic glasses. He was almost accusatory. It was not a good way to treat a guest who honestly just got the resort. They literally checked in and came for happy hour.  It was upsetting to watch.
I won't be back because for the cost it wasn't worth it.
    But it was pretty.

Smokers: know you are not welcome here. Even when you are outside on your private second story outdoor veranda there is a threatened $500 fine for smoking anywhere on the property( they have supposed area but it's bs. Also they have about 80 parking spaces for a resort that has 146 rooms and villas half of which are 2-3 bedrooms so you end up having to park at the Walgreens next door and walking up and down a wooded hilly area. For $200 to $500 a night they should provide safe adequate parking which is totally lacking here. If you leave for any reason you will not find parking again unless your really lucky. Now having said that, it is a great place to stay and the rooms we stayed in were awesome. So if you don't smoke and don't care where you leave your car or how far you have to go to get it, then this is a great place.

Stayed here Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.  Check in- receptionist unfriendly not helpful. Very clean spacious bed room and bathroom. We chose a garden room with 2 queen beds. Beds are not luxury nor are the pillows.  Room 55-A You have a front porch coming in and a back porch that leads right to pool. Right down the side walk about a block away is a Walgreens that also sells liquor and wine and such we bought our breakfast stuff here and ate out at dinner or did delivery from places nearby.  You are not downtown on Duval but most everything is within a 2 mile radius. Downside is the eatery on site closes at 8 pm! Upside is use your YELP because several places around deliver! I think the price was ok, but the up charge resort fee not so much all the fees added an additional 100+ to our bill at check out. No amenities of a resort.  No room service! No bar or restaurant except pool side.

I don't usually stay at resorts like this but our friend happened to have booked it so we came with.
Our room had two floors, and was very clean, chill and felt like home. There is no kitchen, just a mini fridge.
The location was pretty convenient, 10 minute car ride, 20 dollar cab ride or 25 minute walk into downtown.

Parrot Key is somewhat of a scam artist.  While I say this, I still enjoyed my stay for the most part.  It's a nice place but there are some major drawbacks that would probably not allow me to want to stay there again. 2

Price:  I booked this place well in advance, maybe 7 months or so.  The price was 225.00 per night and I booked it for 3 nights.  That was a solid price for Key West and I was please until they add in 7 gazillion fees.  What exactly is a resort fee and what did I get from it?  25.00 extra per night and I have no idea what it does.  What am I paying for?  The restaurant onsite?  The water sport place onsite? No those both cost extra anyway.  Be fair with your guest and give an honest price upfront and get rid of the extra fees, it's bush league.

Website:  I booked this online after looking at their site and paid extra for a waterfront view with a balcony.  I got the balcony but couldn't see a bit of water due to huge palm trees in front of the balcony.  No sunset views as the pics made it look.  I walked around the entire place and saw 1 of the 50 or so that had a real view.  I know where they took their pic from.  Why this cost extra when you get nothing extra again is a scam.

Location: It's away from all the action.  The reason you are in Key West is not to hang out in suburbia but that's where this located.  It shares a parking lot with Walgreens and there is a Ross, K-Mart and Five Guys directly across the street.

Another thing that ticked me off was I saw on their sign rooms for 160.00 per night while I was there. SUCKER!  You got me Parrot Key.

I will say the room was nice and I liked being in Key West period so I'll give them 3 stars.  Just know what you are getting into before booking here. 2.5 stars to be fair/

Gabe "Da Gabe" R.'s is so spot on with his review I can't even add anything. My review would end up being 100% plagiarized copy & paste. I have nothing compelling to add about this place. I guess I could say that the A/C system is incredible. I've never been to Florida so I think you live and die by how good you're A/C unit is. This place had some arctic coolers man. When that think cranks on, it blows ICE COLD. I wish I had something that good in my own house.

The showers suck, terrible water pressure. The beds are also awful. But it's Key West you're supposed to be out and about. Only use this place to sleep.  :)

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I forgot my key several times and they took care of me. The pool boy waiter was also a sweetheart. They tolerated our drunken butt's like professionals. Just like your current employer, you tolerate the place and LOVE the people.

We spent 3 nights here and also paid for 2 nights for our photographer for our elopement. Our room was supposed to be ocean view. Not really. Getting to the room there was garbage on the floor, cobwebs in the corner, a dinged toaster, a small fridge that didn't keep things cold and a chair so spotted and worn looking you questions how many times people used it for "fun".

On the day after our wedding we came back and we were astonished by their lack or care and respect for their customers. The sheets on the bed weren't changed, the bed wasn't made the cover had just been pulled up to the pillows. The HUGE thing is that they knocked over my wedding bouquet on the nightstand. I found it lying on it's side with a tipped glass. No apology no nothing.

Tiki bar: a miami vice is pina colada and strawberry daiquiri, not pina colada with a spoon of strawberry jam mixed in. Not worth $10 each and they automatically charge 15% for tip even though I went to the bar and got the drink myself.

This place has so much potential if management actually cared about their property and their customers. Thankfully I married the man of my dreams so these glitches didn't downplay my trip.

Been meaning to write a review for this resort, which we absolutely loved. We live 3 hours north of Key West & we were coming here for a long weekend with our teenager & toddler to get married on the beach. We chose the 2 bedroom townhouse during offseason in September which makes a huge difference on the wallet & to be honest the weather is not that bad either.
The townhouse was plenty large enough so we didn't feel that we were on top of each other & our teenager loved having the privacy of his own room!! The beds were super comfy & the bathroom was large enough to slip in a wedding dress, LOL!! Never took a dip in the pools, too much to do, maybe next time. The resorts landscaping were so well taken care of, they definitely made you feel as if you were on a tropical island!! It was a plus that they had on site jet ski rentals which were very reasonable for the guided tour, husband loved it as well as our son, FYI 16 year old rides with parent!!
