Made a wrong turn and ended up here . Walked inside and found a great rate $ 69.00 for a super clean room . Great  A/C . nice bed and shower. Will return. Best Value in key West. Walking distance to town and did I mention the pool. Free WI FI

Wonderful place if youre looking for a bed and a place to shower. The front desk guy was super helpful and gave us a map with recommendations of places to eat and nearby attractions. The cons is the small sink and and right toilet area. My roommates had to sit to the side because there want enough room. Minor price to pay considering we didn't book a place before we got here and the price of the room. It was a clean room and we felt safe.

I'm not one to usually give motels a chance, but at $100 a night this was hard to pass up.  I wouldn't expect anything much more than just a bed and a shower, but if your in Key West you probably wouldn't be spending too much time in your room anyway.  The rooms were clean and the bathroom was surprisingly clean.  I wouldn't expect hotel quality decor, but this was totally worth the money.

The motel that could and can. Clean and comfortable. Near enough to the action at Duval Street but far enough away so you can have some rest-that is the Spanish Gardens.
The staff is helpful and if there is a problem they will help you to resolve it right away. And let us not forget affordable. The parking lot is ample and there is a pool to relax by. Give this place a shot-you will not be sorry.

Nice lower cost place to stay (relative to the area and you're not gonna stay in your room anyway).  Good location on one end of the Duval area. Very clean, safe, basic place. Nice staff.   You can really walk to most attractions from here.

My friends purposefully lowered my expectations coming here--it was THE cheapest place near Duval during Fantasy Fest 2012. Spanish Gardens blew those expectations away! Clean, cozy, centrally-located and friendly, you really can't ask for more. well you can, but be prepared to pay for it! They have an outdoor pool out in front of the parking lot, and the "Southernmost point" is just a couple of blocks away...
We were lucky enough to stay in the cottage since we were a party of four, and even had a nice outdoor seating area to shoot the breeze before the real fun began. I will absolutely come back to this place on future KW visits.
    Keep up the great work!

If you want a cheap, adequate, no frills room that's fairly convenient in Key West, this place is great place to crash. Giving it 3 stars because it IS actually average.

Benefits: close to Duval St, end of island and yummy beach cafe, refrigerator, parking, and price. I think the people who work there are probably friendly, but I didnt check us in so that's second hand info.

Could improve: cleaning process for rooms which seemed to be a towel mop and some air freshener. Towels and bedding are just meh. Nothing really all that aesthetically pleasing about the place due to small windows and boring room. Just a decent place to sleep/shower.

We love Spanish Gardens. We've stayed here twice now and couldn't be happier with the price, accommodations, location and customer service. You can tell that the property is loved. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the pool is cleaned daily and housekeeping does a great job! We arrived Memorial Day Monday and were so impressed by how great the property looked! Spanish Gardens offers CLEAN and cheap accommodations. We'll be back!

Stayed here from Tuesday-Thursday of this week and couldn't be happier. A block from Duval street and a few blocks from the southernmost point, the location was perfect. If your expecting a ridiculously fancy hotel that will pamper you to death, this is the wrong hotel. If your coming to key west you shouldn't be spending much time in your room anyway. We were in room 19 and the air conditioning worked great, cable was on point, comfy bed, working refrigerator and a parking lot. All the necessities were covered. Staff is extremely nice and accommodating if you arrive early/late or check out early like we did. Will definitely come again and highly recommend.

Great value and located in a calmer end of town, close enough to Duval yet quiet enough to actually get some sleep at night. My son and I were looking for a place to lay our heads at night after a very full day, and this motel fit the bill at a very reasonable price. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent customer service! Thank you Carl!

Nothing fancy here.  But clean rooms, helpful staff, nice pool.  It's very basic, but clean.  Mini fridge in rooms is nice.  No hair dryers or coffee makers.  I'd stay again!!
For what we needed, it was perfect.

    Short review: don't go there.

    Long review:
Me and my wife arrived in key west around NYE and we were looking for a place to stay for one night. We arrived at Spanish gardens after we saw good reviews at yelp. Happily we checked in. And got the key to a room that was located and the far end of an alley. Whine we arrived in the room it smelled like bad and mold-ish. To our great delight we found a few pubic hair on the sheets, and a stain on the pillow. Floor was sticky too.
Later that night we embarked on a war against flying ants that started when one of them landed on the wife's head. Tons of them.

We woken up feeling itchy, dirty and violated. We stormed out of the Roma's early as we could, and when we approached the manager about the above, he did not offer any kind of compensation, and barely mumbled half an apology, to the people that paid about 300$ for that single "delightful" night...

I WILL NOT recommend this motel to anyone who wishes to have a good night sleep in a sanitary and clean place with welcoming hosts. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car. Might be better.

Great place!! Read review to explain only 3 stars.

I don't know how people afford to stay in Key West for any amount of time. My boyfriend and I were on a Florida adventure and drove to the keys, we figured we'd just grab a hotel like we did all the other cities. The cheapest one we could find was still over $300 a night. We thought we were outta luck ( it at least our wallet regarding doing anything fun for the rest of the trip) when we drove by Spanish Gardens and figured we would just ask.

The man behind the counter was one of the nicest people I've ever dealt with. He cut us a break (key west price break, but I'm not complaining haha) since it was late at night and he knew our situation. He said he had one more room left and allowed my partner to go check it out. He then gave is the most epic map tour of key west, telling us all the ins and out, what to skip and what's not to miss. He pulled us out of the tourist scene and into true key west experience-- guy rocks!!

Now the only reason I'm saying 3 stars is because if you require any kind of fancy digs you will hate this place. Very basic. Old bed and linens and a tv and that's it. But clean looking. Good enough for us. I don't know if it's because we got the last room but it smelt a bit like urine and made me only want to use the room for a drunken slumber. Ehhh...

The location of this hotel is PERFECT! right on Duval street but at the quiet end. So a quick walk down the party scene but perfect quietness to sleep in in the morning.

The pool was nice and right across the street was the BEST coffee and Cuban sandwiches as well as market!

I would definitely stay here again if I could be assured the room smelt differently.

For the price is great, if u don't like it spend the day outside and just go back to sleep there, that's what I did I personally thought it was alright and cheap
