Came across the Sunrise Resort by accident.  Group of 5, mixup with our original hotel reservation, found this resort online when we got to KW.  Fortunately they had a suite for us.  Not brand new but very well equipped and clean.  Very peaceful and quiet location.  While off the beaten path, the bus line stop is a 5 minute walk to take you to Duvall St if you don't want to deal with parking.  A convenience store is also 5 min walk.  Had a 2 BR/2 Bath unit which worked well for us.  I would definitely recommend this property and will book again if in KW.

I've stayed here three times... and all in the same room!

The prices here probably aren't the most competitive nor the closest to all the action on Duval Street but in my opinion, the most financially efficient when traveling in a group without sacrificing luxury.

I normally stay at a suite... two more then adequately sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room (with a pull out sofa), kitchen, and balcony.

The reason I require such a large space is because on my normal stays at the keys I have a group with me. As anyone who has tried to cram many people into one hotel room knows, this can have obstacles... obstacles that are easily overcome by staying here. Just the two bathrooms alone alleviates wait time for getting ready to go out. As anyone knows.. waiting for 6 people or more to get ready can take quite a long time if you're all heading out together... that time gets cut in half when you're here.

Then there is the space... extra space is essential when you're going to be in close proximity to others for a prolonged amount of time. Here there is plenty of room for sleeping, smoke breaks (i dont smoke but there is a balcony), resting, etc.

The distance from Duval isnt really a big deal (Key West isn't exactly the largest place in the world lol) so a 5 minute car/cab ride won't break your banks and I actually prefer that its a little bit away from all the noise for when I'm lounging at the pool.

All in all I really like staying here, otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back. I'd recommend... but only if you're in a group.

We stayed here but did not book through the resort.  Instead we booked directly through the condo's owner ( keywestsunshine.com , use him!).  The grounds were kept very clean.  The housekeepers and staff seemed very friendly (our unit did not have housekeeper service since we booked directly through the owner).  The pool was very nice and always quiet.  Plenty of parking and a short walk to a great conveince store/deli.  The Double Tree is also a quick walk down the road (they have a more active pool plus a great pool bar/grill).  It is far from Duval St, but a great escape from the noise & crowds.

Lovely hotel, it had everything we needed, plenty of space. Hours on pool/spa were eh.

These are timeshares that wound up getting turned into rentals (typical) so your mileage may vary. For just $225 we got a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a great patio (I believe all units are identical).

It's a long ways from everything, but it is at least right on Key West so there's no chance of a bridge backup.

We've stayed here several times.  The office staff are always great and we get a discount for being return guests!  The suites have everything you need including a blender!  Each suite is different but we've had great experiences each time.  Some units are more dated than others but they are clean and affordable!

This place offers a great value for those on a budget.  Two king bedrooms with own bathroom and one kitchen.  Dishes and floor were clean.  However the furniture and kitchen need to be remodeled.  It looked like it was original from 1950-60s.  The Internet was snail pace.  I would have preferred hotel or inn close to Duval. This was located right when you arrive from Hwy 1 from Miami.

Hard to find but worth it.  The places are more like cheap apartments but have everything you need.  We had a two bedroom, two bath place that had a living room and kitchen.  I'd go back again, especially if we are traveling with another couple.

VERY IMPORTANT - there is not enough parking for guests.  You are provided with a sheet  indicating 11 spots of assigned parking for the owners only and not to park , however, never did I imagine at 1 am returning from a wedding that morning the parking was completely taken with motorcycles and mopeds and 3 open handicap parking.  I am a law abiding citizen especially for handicapped parking, however, that was the only parking available.  In the morning I had a $250 citation.  So where was my assigned parking from the owner I was renting from?  The sheet I was provided did provide an emergency number but parking IS NOT AN EMERGENCY.

The other complaint is that the room I was provided was by a trash shoot and the room smelled.

If you are looking for a place with all the ambiance of your parents' failed attempt at real estate investment via the purchase of a 1980s time share in the Florida Keys, then Suite 302 at the Sunrise Suites Resort in Key West is your place.

To its credit, the place is inexpensive compared to other two bedroom options here, and if your goal is to spend your time in town and your money at the many great restaurants like Blue Heaven, SQ 1, and Salute', it's not a bad choice.

You may have to put up with the fact that electronic key card to your room works only occasionally and after you do a special dance that involves rubbing the card on your forehead for good luck, or that the front burner on the 1980s stove cuts off halfway through your morning egg, or the sound of jets and small planes taking off from the adjacent Key West airport just off your balcony, or the smell of long-ago smoked cigarettes that infused the tattered curtains and dirty walls with an invisible yet perceptible film of nicotine, or the tired furniture that swallows you when you sit on it, or the broken ice maker in the freezer, or the fact that the place isn't even stocked with salt and pepper or coffee filters.

Other than that it's great. Sheets were clean, and the price was right, and the wifi worked passably well.

Usually it will take an extremely unpleasant experience for me give an "Eek!" rating, and I still found it amazing for them to do so.  We originally booked at Sunrise Suites because the bride and groom insist on staying at this place.  Even though I later found cheaper option elsewhere, this place required an early deposit, so we were pretty stuck here for a week.

It was a short taxi ride from the airport to here, fare was like $7 since they are within the same zone, and you are struck with taxi since Uber/Lyft are still in dispute with the state.  The office was under maintenance when we arrived, and there was a lady that was half asleep checking us in.  We walked through a bridge area passing by a somewhat rundown pool.  There were some land critters walking along those paths too.

The whole building looked like an old apartment building, and there were a few balconies with party stuff hanging out as well as loud music playing.  The rooms were not really up-to-date on their furnishings.  Who still have a CRT these days?  The range was in the same era as well.  Beds had a few loose springs, and the sofa bed will definitely give you back pain.  The pictures they posted are very deceptive.

During our stay, I believe we have seen the maintenance guy more than ever.  First it was the kitchen sink not working, then it was the bathroom tub, next it was the toilet, etc.  At least their gym works, but it literally work in the garage area, and equipment were not very good.  Toward the end of our stay, some of us were starting to have very bad body itches, turned out they have Bedbugs... Yes they have them here.

When we confronted with the manager with our list of problems, he just shifted the blame to the rooms being independently owned by different people, and all they do was to maintain them.  Then they promised to refund a portion of our room charges, which never did happen.  I do not know how these guys continue to stay in business, I suppose when you are in a tourist area, not having return customers were not an issue.

Stayed at the Sunrise Suites Resort while on vacation with a party of 6 adults.
We had a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms and full kitchen.
The room was nice although a couple quirks such as the icemaker didn't work, everything was good and the AC was cold.
Since we spent most of our time exploring the Keys and town we weren't in the room a lot (as you'd expect on vacation.)

The pool was nice and clean and we met a lot of friendly people there who gave us plenty of good recommendations for restaurants, and even gave us their left over Rum when they had to fly out.
It would be nice if the pool was open later though.  When coming back to the condo after a day at the beach, it would be nice to go into the pool and relax, but it closes down at 8:30pm.

It is close to the airport which I had concerns initially, but the planes aren't constant and they don't fly out too early so you can still sleep in.

Would definitely recommend Sunrise Suites.
