We stayed here this past weekend and really enjoyed ourselves! The staff was friendly and very helpful. They are under new management and it is looking good! The breakfast was included with the room charge and was just enough to start the day (nothing fancy though...toast, muffins, oatmeal, yogurt, OJ, etc..but they do have a new starbucks coffee machine which is nice and also almond milk options to go with the cereal). The pool area was very pretty, although a bit small (management said they might be putting in a second small pool in the next year or so). The cabana area is also a great place to relax. The hotel itself was VERY clean. The room wasn't very big (id stay in a different room next time and i would ask for a room upstairs, we stayed in room 48...but then again, we didnt go to key west to stay in the hotel!)...it was very clean and well put together with nice touches all around. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The downside is the window AC units and the roosters in the mornings, but it was still lovely. They have apples for snacks all day, a happy hour with wine by the pool, and lemonade by the pool (available all day i think). The staff was VERY helpful..and even helped clean off the bird poop on my car before we drove away (I paid for hotel parking at $25 per night...my car was under a tree and got covered in "debris"), so I asked them to help me and they did! The location was perfect..close to everything, but tucked away for peace and quiet. It was a great trip and i would definitely stay here again and check out the new things they have in store!

This hotel is so cosy, clean and cute. Key West style building, just like the one Hemingway lived in. The stuff is very nice. The location is great. They have free Starbucks machine and wine happy hours. No kids. I wish I stayed there longer. I will definitely come back there.

We loved this hotel. I researched very thoroughly before selecting it. I chose it because it is the perfect location (steps from the "strip" but on a quiet side street, equidistant from everything), a smaller hotel (30 rooms, maybe? Maybe even 20?), no kids, and all the amenities I need. The pool was very nice, although we didn't use it because we were out and about a lot. Happy hour was modest but a nice way to start the evening. We didn't make it to breakfast at all because we were coming from the west coast and had a hard time getting up before 11. My experience with all of the service staff (Laura, who I think is the manager, and a couple of other people at the desk) was very positive - genuinely nice people who want to help. The grounds were very nice and there were lots of outdoor and porch spots to sit with a book or have your happy hour glass of wine. We are heavy sleepers so we had no problem with the neighborhood roosters, but if you're a light sleeper, they do provide earplugs!

I thought the Cabana Inn was great. I've stayed at numerous hotels in Key West on previous trips and think Cabana was the best one.  Heated pool + hot tub open 24 hours (although the hot tub was a degree or two too hot...and that's saying something coming from me).  The hostess at the front desk was quite pleasant and informative.  Parking is steep at 30 bucks, but it is what it is.  And the location is absolutely prime.  Great spot off of Duval street, which allows for a quiet evening, but also allows for you to stumble to the nearest watering hole.

We were visiting Key West for the first time and discovered this gem. Mario in the office was friendly, accommodating and showed amazing hospitality all 4 days. Great location because its right off the main Duval strip and has a locked gate that only guests can access. This type of location provided easy walking access to all restaurants, shopping and the beach while also allowing for quiet R&R by thier pool or hot tub. Its also adults only which is great for couples traveling.  We stayed in The Loft and will definitely be back for that room. It was peaceful and spacious.  The fixtures and decor were a little dated but appreciated the full kitchen,  dining atea and living space.

We had a great stay at the Cabana Inn. The rooms were very clean, the courtyard was  extremely inviting and the staff was most helpful. We enjoyed our breakfast and the 5 to 7 wine and cheese get together.   The management was also accomadating and allowed us to extend our checkout time.

A  special thank you to the manager - James Mcleod who kindly arranged to return our lost keys by Fedex as soon as possible.

We would highly recommend staying at the Cabana Inn in Key West.

I may have to come back and change this review but as for now....we are quite disappointed.  We paid in advance for a room with a kingsized bed for two nights.  Instead, we got a room with  double-bed and told there were no kingsized rooms available for two nights, even though we paid in advance and I provided our confirmation showing the room we booked.  Nice front desk guy but we're not at all happy.

Update!  The manager was wonderful and made up for the error.  Highly recommend this place.  Perfect location!!!

Great hotel right in the center of  town! Super clean, breakfast included and a Starbucks machine too!! The parking situation is pretty bad and the front desk guy was not very helpful when we asked for assistance. Hotel manager was super friendly and so was Ricardo. Thanks for a great vacation-
We will be back!

Place is not the same as the good ol BIG RUBY'S and that is exactly what the new owners wanted. It's not bad, it's not great ... It's just okay. Staff on arrival and departure were very nice but not well informed of much anything in my opinion. DO NOT STAY IN THE MAIN HOUSE... Especially upstairs. It's cramped and if you're in room 5, you will need to step over the people next door if they are sitting outside... (Always)
The bathroom was not very nice at all and the shower head is pointed (you can't move it much) right out of the opening, directly to the middle of the bathroom floor... Caution: slippery when wet.

I live in Miami and been to Key West several times with friends. On my last trip I discovered this hotel and I am sticking to this place in the future. First, it's beautiful, peacefully designed, guests seem to really relax and enjoy the stay, the staff is nice and everything is clean. This is a gem quality/price piece of cottage hotel. By seeing how the staff works around you can tell they take their job in a professional manner. Congrats guys, keep up the good work. The only setback: no good parking options.

We stayed here for a week at the tail end of Fantasy Fest. This is a very nice place! So glad we chose it! The fellow guests were fun. It's adults only. We stayed in a cabana king cottage. The beds were comfortable. The rooms & property were clean. The pool & spa were very nice. They have a nice free breakfast in the morning and a free happy hour with wine & cheese. The location can't be beat! It's very close to Mallory square & one block off the action of Duval street.

The only cons I could say is that our cabana was directly on Whitehead street. The traffic, people, & wild roosters are very loud. The hotel can provide you with ear plugs if you need them. Also, they should serve fruit with breakfast. I would have liked some bananas.

I would definitely recommend this place and we will absolutely be back!

We absolutely loved this typical Key West architectural hotel/BnB. Very helpful staff, a clean and (finally a) refreshing pool after a hot day in KW. A hot jacuzzi is available as well. Beautiful garden with exotic trees and plants. Room (number 4) was above average with a big bathroom (shower only). Unfortunately we didn't have hot water, but the romantic balcony made it all good. Location is right next to duval street with all the action. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing with lots of sweets and sugar things, not for people on a diet...
Internet is working very well, free Starbucks coffee, fresh lemonade and 2 hours of free happy hour with good wine and cheese... I really felt being a welcome guest and you feel the passion that the staff puts into this place. You cannot go wrong with this one...

The Cabana Inn is a beautiful place to stay be it just for 1 night or for a week.

It's conveniently located 1 block from Duval St. so it jsut a quick walk to all of he great nightlife and partying that Key West is noted for, but set back far enough that it's a nice quiet place to relax.

The grounds are all Key West beautiful with a swimming pool, hot tub, palm trees and lots of private areas to sit and sun. Service is impeccable and the free continental breakfast and happy hour are just right.
