Wow, if it coudn't get worse. I called monday morning and asked for a extended checkout and was told the best they could do is 30 more min. The young lady at check out was rude, and not personalable at all.. Overall this hotel gets 2 out of 10. Its only saving grace is the beautiful pool. other then that dont stay here.

Overall, the hotel was ok, but this review is more about the employees and management that are rude and liars.  They tend to make you never want to return to this hotel AGAIN!  My sister booked through hotwire or one of those types of websites and pre-paid for the entire stay.  I'll make this long story short. Upon, returning home my sister noticed on her credit card there was a $100 charge added, so she of course called the hotel immediately.   She was informed there was a no pet policy and the charge was for "having a dog."  She asked well how come the numerous employees that saw us with the dog never informed us there was a no pet policy, but were more than willing to come and tell you guys that we had a dog.  The person she talked to then said the $100 charge was for a "cleaning fee."  So, I of course called since this was my dog.  After, numerous calls I finally spoke to a manager who was full of crap.  He said that he personally made several attempts to get ahold of us to inform us of the policy.  I asked, "How come there was no voice messages left on the room phone?"   He said, "Maybe there was something wrong with the messaging system."  Really.....I then asked how come no one called my sister's cell phone, since I'm sure it was on file from when she booked the hotel.  Lastly, I asked how come there wasn't a note left on our door.  I mean, they didn't even try to get ahold of us.  The one thing I hate in the world is liars.  The dog was less than 10lbs and was only in the room when I came home to change; otherwise it was staying off site at a local campground with family.  And, let's be real the $100 was not used for any type of extra cleaning in my room.  It was used to line the pockets of management.

We stayed here in August  to scout out locations for our upcoming wedding, including a hotel for our guests. We loved the Inn at Key West! The pool is so amazing and tropical - beautiful palms gently curve over the enormous, heated pool, which is lit very prettily at night. The standard rooms are on the small side - it's worth it to get one of the bigger rooms. Staff was very friendly. The only downside to this hotel is that it's 3 miles from Duval and downtown, and there's no shuttle. But other than that, we had absolutely no complaints!

I don't understand the 1 star review given. This is a great hotel. When my wife and I were in Tokyo this year, we stayed at a 5-star hotel designated as "Expedia's Insiders' Select", and we were very happy with it. It was the best hotel we have stayed in Tokyo, and we have been to Tokyo many times. So when I saw this hotel's reasonable price and the "Insider's Select" designation, I went for it, and we were not disappointed.

The hotel is not near Duval street. It's about a 5-min drive, near the entrance to the US-1 (which means really easy to find coming off the highway). The best part of this hotel is the pool. It's hands down the best in Key West. It is surrounded by palm trees, full of lounge chairs, and there is a bar (not swim-up though). We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed the pool a couple of times.

The room, while not big, is decorated with tasteful tropical, dark wood, furniture. There is a 42-inch flat screen TV hung nicely on the wall. The a/c works extremely well and the bathroom is very nice. Our room faces the parking lot, which is good and bad. Good is that it's kind of secluded. I noticed that certain pool facing rooms are along the walkway to the pool and the breakfast rooms so there could be a lot of foot traffic. Bad is that we hear the roosters in the morning. There are many chickens and roosters in the parking lot. They are not that loud as they are not right outside the rooms, but I could hear them. Other than that, I think Inn at Key West is a great hotel and very reasonably priced.

The pool is beautiful with excellent landscaping with the exception of the broken waterfall feature.  Room was decent.  The ocean view comes with the parking lot.  The patio can barely fit two people.  Location is inconvenient and isolated.  Staffs were courteous and helpful.  The maids did a good job.

The Inn at Key West is wonderful place to stay!  I have been coming to Key West for the Poker Run for over 10 years and this was a gem of a place to find.  Thanks to our friend Sonny for setting everything up with Sandy.  If you have a big group coming down she is the one to work with and it is a pleasure.  Ms. Kristina at the front desk is one of the nicest , helpful people I have ever met.  She went out of her way to make sure our stay was 5 stars!  The room with the terraces are so nice.  Clean, well kept and luxurious.  The housekeeping was also great and definitely go see Tim @ the Tiki bar and the great pool!   Mahalo (thanks) to everyone and much Aloha.  Cya next year! E and G.!

For the price I'd expect more, rooms were clean but bit too small, the queen beds big enough, the pillows fluffy, the bathroom small, the buffet breakfast (not included) was nothing special, some fruit and few cakes, the swimming pool is nice, big and has a great landscape, the location is by the ocean but a bit far from Duval St., about $18 taxy ride...next time I'll try something else...

Checkin went awful. After driving hours, when I asked where the restroom was located, the young lady's nonresponse was like "Do I have to tell you?". Given noisy room next to laudry room and ice machines. The rooms are dark with monkey palm pineapple theme. Bathrooms are not luxurious.  Second room had small toilet/shower area separate from sink in the room. "Are we still in the 70's but paying 2011 rates?".   Room service arrives  late to make up room and left door open once. Not cool and safe at all. Pool area is awesome with beautiful tropical landscaping and its faux beach. The hot tub is more like a tepid kiddie germ wading pool. Piña  coladas are an awful mix with house rum poured on top. And to top it all off, far from all the center of town.

Our stay at the Inn in Key west was about average as far as hotel experience goes.  Nothing went wrong, but I wouldn't say that I saw the staff going above and beyond for any guests. The 'spacious' superior king rooms are slightly overstated and the balcony you have is about the size of a broom closet.  The view was of foliage and left much to be desired as you can't see the pool, or much of anything but the sidewalk below and the balcony to your left or right. On the plus side, the pool wasn't crowded and was great, drinks at the pool bar were reasonably priced compared to the rest of the island, and there was no charge for parking or internet.  The road construction on Hwy 1 made it difficult to get over to the 'Gulf waterfront' so we didn't bother and headed to Duval and the beaches.  It wasn't the hotels fault for this, so I did not remove any additional points for this as every hotel and restaurant on 1 is dealing with the same issue.

Not the best location in KW, but if the Inn was closer to the action, you would not have the free parking or the lower rates. This hotel is a wonderful little oasis with an amzing pool area. After a day of watersports, nothing beats sipping on a cold beet by the waterfall and looking up at the palmtrees that surround the pool.

I stayed there with family for 3 nights last October (2011). We loved, loved, loved the pool. It looks like you are in some tropical paradise. There are these great free rafts to float around on, awesome design elements (very on theme) and an excellent hot tub set back a bit form the pool (great if there are kids in the pool and you want to just chill and have a little peace).  The room was nice, clean, a good size and had very comfy beds. SWhen we were there, service was really lacking.... no one was at the check in desk when we arrived except for a maintenance guy and it took 15 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check us in (@ 4:00 pm)!   We got a good price, but it is really far from Duval street so you will have to take a cab if you are going to be drinking. Otherwise, thumbs up especially if you can get a discounted price.

I won't be coming back here and I won't recommend this to anyone else.

Customer service is completely horrible. I booked their expedia...cost $400+ for one night! The rooms and this hotel is NOT worth $400.

I've been around the world, Tokyo, Rome, Paris, Nice, Toulouse, Frankfort, Munich, Canada, Mexico , and all over the US (basically I travel a lot for work and leisure). I've stayed at different types (luxurious and budget hotels). This hotel is similar to a holiday Inn.

Here's a summary of why I am so upset with this hotel establishment:
On the day of arrival, we checked in at around noon and our room was not ready. I was told that we would receive a call when it was. Went to Duvull St. and I didn't get a call. At around 5 pm, we decided to get back to the hotel. We go there, got all of our paperwork. Interior of hotel seemed ok and they gave me a map of our hotel room that was outside in this older building. When I got to my room on the 2nd floor (also didn't ask if we needed help with our bags), I opened the door and noticed 1 King bed. I had paid for 2 queen beds. This was specifically printed on my confirmation. I had paid more for 2 queen beds. Immediately I called the front desk to tell them about my issue.
They said let them check and told me that it was because they were sold out and only had this room with a sofa bed. Well on all sites 1-king bed + sofa bed is not equivalent to 2 queen beds ok. Also they didn't tell me about this at check in. I had to find out for myself. The only reason why I booked here was for the 2 queen beds and the good reviews on yelp.

I've been to the Mariott before and had a great time there. I should have returned there but thought I give a different hotel a shot. Anyways, they told me I only get similar room types and I read the fine print on my Expedia confirmation. They told me they can not do anything and I said I was going to contact Expedia. I was on the phone with Expedia for more than an hour talking to 3 different managers.

In the end I decided I just wanted a refund because this is about fairness and treating people properly. At first they wouldn't acknowledge my refund because the hotel would not authorize it. I told them this is false advertisement and they wanted to force me to just accept the situation. No way because they will keep doing this to the next person and so forth.

Another comment they had the audacity to say was because I stayed in the room for so long that's why they couldn't give me refund. I started laughing because the time I was in this room was to call Expedia to fix this issue (1.5 hours)! They are the cause since they refused to give me a correct room and refused to give me a refund.

In the end I told them I had written confirmation and I would take pictures and dispute with my credit company. I told Expedia they were falsely advertising things. Done...they finally gave in. I got my refund and off to another hotel.

Don't book here because you don't want to deal with these issues while on vacation. I mean I'm 2000+miles away from home. I didn't come here to give anyone a hard time. I'm here to relax and unwind, but don't mistreat your customers and pull a fast one!

After much research, my kids and I were satisfied with our selection of the INN. Great Value.

Close to airport (great for early departures)-Rented a Car! (saved on taxi fees to town). Street parking available as well as Mallory square in town. Free parking at the INN

Check in/check out was quick, easy and convenient! Early check in was not available.

Concierge=superb-Very personable, helped to plan trip activities from Atlanta via telephone. This doesn't happen often

Outdoor entry to rooms- I requested poolside, 2nd level.

Magnificent resort like Pool!-Largest in Key West I was told.

Rooms recently renovated in Tommy Bahama Style furnishings- deep mahogany furnishings, color scheme =calming (taupes and celadon green). Renovated Marble baths. comfy pillow top mattress beds with High thread count quality comforters and linens (not  threadbare holiday inn, comfort inn, Hampton suites style). More of a boutique style Inn. Very relaxing after long day. Floor unit a/c vs. central air.

Restaurant was under renovation-tiki bar -great service and good prices.  Takeout was quick , inexpensive and tasty!

Didn't use fitness center or hot tub.

Overall, A great place to stay if visiting Key West with family. Initially, upon driving up, I had formulated an opinion of having a Motel experience. Upon entering lobby, we were pleasantly surprised.  Kids are accustomed to 4-5 star Resort properties for vacations. This was a short Getaway for us. Upon departure, they were asking when would they return. They loved it - (8 and 12 yrs old)

Property is Away from night life of Duval street but yet, Close to everything-the beach, airport, grocery stores, restaurants. Probably would not would not have same opinion if I were coming for a romantic escape or my honeymoon. It all depends on your taste, needs and your budget.

Pretty good hotel with an absolutely FANTASTIC pool!  I have stayed here four times  over tha past few years and would definitely consider visiting again.  However, I cannot give them the highest rating because of the lacksidasial housekeeping.   Houskeeping has become mediocre at best of the my stays here....especially the last time I stayed there (August 2011) housekeeping did so-so work cleaning, but was TERRIBLY SLOW.  I remember one day when we left around 9am with the maids cleaning the rooms immediately adjacent to ours but when returing to the hotel around 6pm (!)...the room had not been done yet.  Inquiry with the front desk did little...just got the excuse that they had been very busy due to the fact that a large party had left and those rooms had to be readied for newly arriving guests.  Ok, I get it, they were busy, but...hmm..dont they have to clean ALL rooms EVERY day? - Even with some addtional work that needs to be done at the time when guest check out, the inefficiency of the houskeeping staff is inexcuseable.
    My rating would be 3.5....

The Inn At Key West is exactly what we wanted in a hotel for our first trip to Key West!  We wanted a luxury hotel, quiet and beautiful, however, we wanted to be far enough from the hustle and bustle from Duval St. but close enough to get there in a heartbeat!  When we arrived the lobby was just gorgeous, hotel staff was friendly and our room was clean and tidy.  We booked our room on Facebook and saved 15%.  I posted on their page and told them we were coming for our Anniversary and there was a nice sentiment in our room upon arrival!  Five Stars to the Inn!!!  We will be back and will recommend it to all of our friends!
P.S.  I didn't even mention the beautiful grounds, pool and outdoor bar!  Paradise!  It was the best 10 year Anniversary ever!

Although the inn is about $12-$15 taxi ride from old town & Mallory Square I thought it was a great value & thoroughly enjoyed our w/end there.

The pool is really beautiful & practically shouts "Jump In!"   The dj Saturday afternoon was very enjoyable.  Free coffee in the am (IHOP next door is a bit less expensive than breakfast at the inn)  I usually prefer central a/c and the noisy window units sometimes tend to keep me awake but the beds were sweet (comfortable)  Rates were reasonable.  People have weird ideas about hotels & the beaches in K West - most are bed & breakfasts & the beach is on the opposite side of the island (away from Mallory Square & nightly Sundown party) but overall this was a very upscale motel & I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.

We booked in advance and got a great deal which allowed us to save a bit of money so we could spend it somewhere else in key west. It was a decent hotel for the price we paid. We stayed there for 5 nights, but usually left early in the morning and came back late at night and never used any of the hotel's amenities so I can't really comment on the pool or restaurant/bar. We toured the hotel upon arrival though and noticed that the water in the pool was a bit cloudy.
Our room was clean and fairly modern. The bathroom was spacious and had a rainforest shower head. There was a big TV in the room, a safe, and a small fridge. There was a little fenced off patio with two chairs which again we never used.
The front desk clerk was confused and couldn't find our reservation when we arrived, so we had to provide our reservation number before she could figure it all out, but aside from that we didn't have any problems during our stay. I would stay here again.

Overall the hotel was nice.  It is far from Downtown Duval St, where all of the action is.  The pool is not open after 11pm.  We found this out on a Saturday night after enjoying ourselves on Duval St all day and wanted to just go relax in the pool.  We were told that Corporate decided this but it is not posted anywhere on the property.  The night auditor was in charge but couldn't change the rules.  We (about 10 people) were told that we could hang out in their outdoor lounge area but not in the pool area.  I believe that we made more noise out of the pool than we would have in the pool.  We had 7 rooms total to enjoy 4 different birthdays this weekend, so its not like we didn't spend enough at the hotel.

What an AWESOME experience!  The food is absolutely fantastic as well.... DON'T eat at the Ihop next door (that location is the most disgusting I've been to). The Inn's breakfast menu is short but delish!  The room was superb, the pool and poolside bar is top quality and FUN, easy to mingle with GREAT drinks.  This is now my hotel of choice when I visit Key West.

We stayed here on a trip last summer and had a great time. The hotel is converted from an old radisson I believe but they did a great job with the rooms.

They were real clean and the beds were comfy. The pool here is absolutely nuts as its REAL BIG and we even saw a badass iguana walking around when we stayed here.

My only gripe was the AC was a bit rough in the rooms to get going but it cooled the room down once it fired up.

The Inn a Key West was a great place to stay!  The rooms were very nice, clean and moder.  The pool was great, they even had a small sandy area at the pool, so it felt like we were at the beach!  The bar by the pool was great too!  It was about a 10 minute ride from Duvall street from the hotel, but considering how nice the hotel was i was well worth it.

I would say there again when I go back to Key West.

Excellent!! We loved out stay at Inn at Key West. Yes, it's a bit of a hike from Duval, which isn't necessarily a bad thing during festivals. The rooms were very clean, the dual-headed rain shower was nice, staff was attentive and helpful, and they're just steps away from the Gulf. Great hotel for the money. Beautiful, clean, affordable, updated hotel.  Far away from Duval St. (about 10 min drive), but we had a car so nbd.  We were in KW for a wedding, so we didn't spend a whole lot of time there.  And I regret not spending more time in that pool!  It was outstanding.

Only points off for cleaning crew.  We were gone for about 6 hours one day and came back to an uncleaned room, then had to call multiple times to get someone up there.  Had to call and request a cleaning again the next day.  Kind of annoying, but didn't ruin the stay.

The Inn is a great deal for your money. I would especially recommend it to families with small children. The pool's nice enough and you won't have too many rowdy neighbors.

The hot tub wasn't working during our time there. Also, it's quite a ways from the more enjoyable parts of Key West. I'd never been to KW and felt like I was missing out a little.

For the most part, staff was accommodating and courteous. The front lobby is gorgeous. You get a great view of the gulf.

With a two second walk to the Gulf of Mexico, this waterfront hotel with the amazing pool was an easy choice for us.

The big reveal proved it to be more than we expected for the price.  The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and genuine.  The room was large, well appointed, and clean.

The patio was a little cramped, but the view made up for it......almost.

The pool area was spectacular.  Lots of vegetation, plenty of chairs, a shaded bar area and cabana, and umbrellas gave plenty of shaded spots to sit for the sun-concious set.

The drinks were good - try the Flagler Banana Split.  You will thank me later.

On your way in from the pool, stop and get some ice cold citrus water on the side table.  Refreshing, and a great reminder to keep hydrated before and after pool time.

If you need tickets for an activity, stop by the concierge! They are there to help you and book trips for you - sometimes at a discounted rate!  They can also arrange for rented transportation, such as bicycles, mopeds, electric cars, or traditional cars.

Need to know:  The hotel is in New Town, not the popular Old Town near Duval st.  It is a great place to relax, and have a quiet, restful sleep, and a refreshing swim.  The people that were staying here we all having a good time, but nobody was loud, obnoxious, or wasted.    It was like another world - and it was appreciated.

We used Taxis to get us downtown and back home once per day.  It cost about  $15 per trip, so about the same as a bicycle would cost one person.  I didn't mind walking all over creation once we got to old town, so this worked well for us.  I liked not having to worry about where we left the bikes, or having some amateur fall on them and completely bend the wheel (yes, I totally saw that happen!!!!).

24 hours a day, someone is at the desk, smiling and ready to call you a taxi, give directions, or just a high five.

I love staying at this hotel. Its away from the strip but close enough that you can take a cab. I've stayed here 3 times and the service have always been good. There are several strip malls close by with banks, Publix, Winn Dixie, Ihop, Liquor stores, Wallgreens, etc. The rooms are clean, plenty of free parking. The pool is nice and there's also a jet spa...open late so if you go late evenings and the pool area is all yours.

This hotel was great!! at first I was a little ticked off because the location was not  what I expected. there was construction in front of the property and it is on a busy street. however after walking in to the hotel all that went out the window. It was clean and beautiful. The pool area was like an oasis. Definitely a good deal when you compare it to how much the hotels on Duval are going for and  how much more you get with this one. It is comparable to the nicer hotel's on/near Duval that charge twice the price of this one.  I would definitely consider staying here again.

OK, well let's start by talking about the mildew and mold on the bathroom ceiling. Yes, they say newly renovated... I ask when? The steps to our room were missing, the railings were "under construction" and generally it was not a good experience. We tried to have a drink at the bar but the bartender told us it was too long of a walk to go get the wine we requested Chardonnay!! Then, the sinks in the bar overflowed and the bar area smelled of sewage. Yet, they kept right on serving drinks. At least close the bar until it was fixed. We left a night early. There was also a lot of road construction going on so it was dusty, numerous detours, and frankly, I would stay downtown if I had to do it all over. The place was a mess. I would check it out before you plan a stay here.

First the positives, this will be short. The staff was friendly and the decor is very nice. The pool is huge and nice, and the breakfast is very good.

The negatives: It's NOT near anything, not the historic district or the beach. You have to drive to get anywhere, i guess that's why it's much cheaper then the other hotels. Also, Key West has a Rooster problem....yes, i said Rooster. We were awaken at 4 am two days in a row by a cackling Rooster outside our door. You would think the staff, in the middle of the night, would shoo these things away - uh, no. IF you end up staying here, get a room on the interior of the resort, to avoid Rooster waking.

Overall, for the money not bad - but prepare to drive everywhere.

Loooooved my stay here! We booked online and got a special deal via their website. Initially booked 2 nights but chose to stay a third after falling in love with KW and the hotel. Great sunset views over the gulf directly across the street. Not so close to the action on Duval St. but definitely worth the drive to and from. Easy parking onsite. Conveniently located next to an IHOP, if I remember correctly, and not too far from a Waffle House or McDonald's and other shopping areas.

The pool area is by far the greatest thing ever here! The hot tub feels secluded among shrubs, trees, etc. and the pool is beautiful and has a waterfall as well. This place was dreamy!

The desk staff was great. In fact, everyone we encountered that worked here was great. They have a very small area to purchase snacks and necessary items often forgotten when packing. We asked at the front desk about heating up leftovers and were granted access to the employee area outside the desk to heat up food. Fridge in the room, may come standard, not sure.

I can't wait to come back to KW, this will be my first choice place to stay!

Every time I have to head down to Key West for work, I end up staying in a different hotel.  This time around, I was lucky enough to get booked into The Inn at Key West.  What a gorgeous place!

The rooms are pretty standard in size, but well-appointed.  My deluxe king room had a huge king-size bed (of course), a comfy couch and coffee table/ottoman for lounging, a huge flat-screen tv, a gorgeously remodeled bathroom, including a beautiful vanity with tons of counter space, and a desk.

The pool was amazing, shaded by palm trees, complete with its own waterfall.  There was a tiki bar with decent prices to fulfill all my frozen beverage needs.  There was also a hot tub, though I didn't get to take advantage of it.

There are 2 reasons why I'm giving this place 4-stars rather than 5.  One is the lack of wireless internet; there's internet available, but only if you plug in your laptop at the desk.  Not cool when all I want to do is lounge on the couch and/or the bed.  It's free though, so that's a plus.  The other negative is the fact that I was woken up by 3 roosters crowing in front of my room starting at 6:00 a.m.  Definitely not the alarm clock I was expecting.

I will definitely stay here again.  Even though it's not walking distance from Duval Street, it's not far away, and parking is free.  Next time though, I'll make sure to ask for a room away from the roosters.

Hotel is nice but no airport shuttle, nice pool but people brought their boombox music. It was load, disturbing. We spoke to the front desk and manager. Quote they are paying customers too. What excuse is this for any respectable hotel. Not cool and so inappropriate. I may not recommend it unless they fix employee and management staff.

I am the pickiest hotel guest in the world. And this hotel passed my inspection. The hotel premises were beautiful. Pool area relaxing with great music and gorgeous trees surrounding it. Not too far for a can fare . From the hotel to duval st it came out to $5 per person and were were a group of 5 girls. The room was clean ,sheets clean, towels clean. Only thing is that one wall in our room had a big chip and needed to be painted. The bathroom area was clean. If the hotel it clean it passes in my book. Us girls simply loved everything about the hotel and cannot wait to go back. Thank you INN!

Booked through hotels.com , we got a good deal. Not sure I would have paid the sticker price otherwise.

The staff was a bit clueless as she contined to ramble about how the phones won't stop and the computer room system is down.  After several minutes we were checked into what she said was an "upgrade". I didn't notice anything special about the room other than an alcove with a pull out sofa bed stuffed in the far back. It was not as luxurious as the website looked. There was a "private balcony", but we were on the first floor, right in front of the parking lot, so its not private at all. When you open the blinds, everyone outside can see in, and if you were to sit on the patio, all you can really see is the parking lot. (Room 101). No special amenities, in fact, I never saw the in-room coffee/tea maker and I had to ask for a hairdryer.  Not sure if its standard in the rooms but the shower was the best part. Large tiled shower with rainfall shower head was a nice touch.

The hotel is located infront of the ocean, but it is not "beachfront", in fact, none of hotels on this street (or any other one for that matter) are beachfront. There is a major street that runs between the 2. If you have a room on the second floor with a balcony, you might have a decent view but its nothing breath taking.

The pool was the best part of this hotel. It is large and the landscaping makes it feel like a tropical hideaway. Every chair was full (which was annoying) but it didn't feel like there were too many people in the pool. We lounged around for hours and the pool boy brought us drinks. It was the highlight of the trip.

Dont let the pictures fool you its not as nice as they make it look. There was a stain on the bed sheet when we checked in the only outlet it the bathroom does not work the wife had to get ready it the bed area looking into a little mirror. The bathroom sink drain lever is broken. We went down to the pool one night on our way back to the room we stopped at the front desk to ask for more towels the girl said of course I'll have them sent to your room. Not sure why she couldn't just reach into the supply closet. Here i am 45 minutes later waiting for towels so i can shower

This place is the 7th wonder of the world and it's run by their fearless, bartendjng leader, Jana.
If you are looking for a relaxing place with a nice staff and a decent room rate, look no further.
I met my future ex wife here and can't wait to return.

The room was nice and clean and well taken care of.  There were some nice family amenities including a laundromat.  The bar and restaurant were nice but pricey for the quality.  The best thing about the hotel is the pool, it is absolutely gorgeous and well kept.  The biggest issue I found is that there appears to be no control over who accesses the pool.  It states that it is only for hotel guests but it was quite obvious that non-guests were crashing as well as some locals would come by poolside and take a dip as well.

I've stayed here twice and have been really impressed each time. This past time we went there were slight issues, but they took care of us and went above & beyond what we expected. One thing I love about this place is that it's not near all the hustle on Duval St. Its nice, quiet, and calm. Plus, the pool & bar is fantastic.

This place is basically a Holiday Inn at a Ritz Carlton price. The rooms were very basic-tiny balcony with no view despite paying for one. They start blasting the bar music at 7am, making it unpleasant to be at the one great feature, the large pool.  I recommend either staying somewhere truly crappy and saving money or forking out the big money to be in a truly nice hotel. This place is kind of the worst of both options.

Stayed here for a long weekend in February (busy season) with friends and we were very pleased with the hotel. The room was very clean, had great furnishings and a nice sized bathroom with wooden double doors. The pool was excellent and the hot tub was great for the cooler nights. We didn't try the poolside bar but heard good things from other guests. In terms of the negatives, the WiFi didn't really work in the room, possibly because we were located in the rear of the complex. The other negative is the location - a $20 cab ride one way to the historic downtown area and Duval Street. Just something to keep in mind if you like to also "review" pubs, as I do. Uber didn't seem to be as available in Key West as it is in other places so the local taxi companies are really the only choice. But overall, had a very nice stay and would return if the price was right!

Overall I would say this is a decent place to stay BUT...my first impression was not good, we were checked into a room where the toilet didn't flush and the door didn't close properly. The patio faced 'the pool' which was actually the overgrowth of the greenery around the pool and nothing else. We went back to the front desk and they offered to move us to a ground floor unit on the other side, the patio faced towards the ocean but all you can see in the cars parked 2 feet away and massive road construction. The room smelled overwhelmingly musty so back to the front desk we went. We are now on our 3rd room, the fan in the bathroom doesn't work and gets super hot which the AC can't seem to cool off!

This hotel is NOT near downtown (Duval) and the beach across the street is blocked up by construction!!!

On the other hand the pool area is beautiful; giant palm trees and lush greenery! There is even a sandy area by the hot tub and a tiki bar!! The staff all seem super friendly. The room was quiet and the bed is really comfortable! The decor throughout the inn is tropical with palm trees and bamboo...that I love! There is a restaurant downstairs, an IHOP next door and a publix down the road. The room also has a mini fridge.

So basically the room is my least favourite part of this hotel, if you're coming for a place to crash, it's affordable!

We booked 3 nights via Priceline. Check-in is 3pm and we arrived at 3:30 and the room was still waiting to be cleaned. They offered a couple of cheapo drink tickets for the Tiki bar. We were told that we would wait another 30 minutes. Guy at front desk asked for my credit card for incidentals. I told him (and he saw on the computer) that we prepaid. He assured us that he was "only going to get $90 authorization". At the Tiki bar after the WORST Mojito in modern history, I got an email from my bank that the genius at the front desk charged $1,057 to my debit card! BIG problem and we haven't even gotten our room yet. I went in and eventually spoke with the front desk manager (Bryan). He worked hard to reverse the charge and we blew the first hour trying to figure out how NOT to make me wait 5 days to get my money back. Big pain with me spending 30+ minutes on phone with 5 different people at my bank. Eventually resolved that day after a real rocky start. Bryan gave us a certificate for breakfast and some in-room snacks. Now the part that matters... The pool area has burnt out bulbs, dust and dirt everywhere and an amateur bar staff. The nicely laid paver brick around the pool was simply filthy. The pool towels were empty and we had sat there, 10 feet from the bar for most of an hour having a smoke. Not ONCE did the barkeeper ask us if we'd like to order something.   We arrived around 10pm... They closed at 11pm. A couple sat on the sofa across from us and were also ignored. Another couple walked up to the bar at 10:40 and asked the barkeeper if he was still open.. He replied that he was still open but closing down. Rude and clearly not interested in guest service or selling. As we sat, we noticed a blue Ethernet cable draped down the overhang near a row of poolside rooms... Cheap looking. Our room's door looked as if someone tried to break it down. Top hinge had triple the screws in it trying (in vein) to keep the door up. It will not open or close without actually lifting the door so it won't hit the frame, which prevents closing. The room is nearly void of usable electric outlets. I had to unplug the alarm clock to charge my cell bedside. The channel guide is blank and there are zero premium channels and no option to buy in-room movies. This place has great potential in a well laid out property across from beautiful water views. This is death by a thousand cuts. We'll be back to Key West, but not likely to the Inn at Key West.

To be honest I was a bit skeptical of our upcoming trip here after reading some really negative reviews. My wife and I have stayed at some of the nicest resorts all over the world, and we're very particular and quite opinionated about where we stay. After arriving here, I've yet to have a single negative thing to say about the inn at key west. For the price, I honestly expected worse, but the rooms are very clean and well kept, the staff is very pleasant and the pool is absolutely wonderful - if you know anything about key west, it's almost impossible to find a pool larger than a puddle. This hotel is an amazing value and truly a beautiful oasis away from the noisy downtown.

My only advice is to rent a car or a moped (moped is the ONLY way to travel in the Keys) as its an expensive $18 cab ride Into town. But they will help you reserve and have a moped delivered right to the hotel. Cheers and good Job!

    what a great little hotel,

the pool is out of this world the rooms are ok but the pool is this hotels saving grace.

good location and overall a great hotel, highly recommended.

Plenty of parking at the front of the hotel! If the parking fills up, there is plenty more parking around the back of the hotel.

The hotel offers a great poolside bar that serves good food all day.

Don't waste your money. We booked a last minute birthday trip here. The room was SUPER over priced. The fool you into thinking you'll have a lovely view for an expensive room (350 a night) and we got stuck in a side room with crappy windows in the back of the hotel looking at the parking lot. I felt like I was in a crappy motel charging 89 bucks a night. The room was ok. Bed was hard. Air conditioning was a crappy unit that never got cold. They had a fan in there that was broken. There was hair in the bathtub and the floors felt wet and smelled moldy. Don't bother. Look online for something closer to the water and not so as gross as this place.

Our stay wasn't great and it cost us $100.

We reserved 4 nights but ended up only staying three nights. Saturday -Monday. Upon arrival we were given the deluxe double room one the second floor front of the hotel. I regret getting the "deluxe" room since they it has a view but only of the parking lot and busy road.

The room was clean but as other mentioned the doors are messed up. They don't open or close without putting your shoulder into it. You have to pull it closed behind you or it won't close. The beds were not great but just okay.

So we were excited to have a hotel in key west with the pool they have. The beaches are not so good for swimming so this was an important feature for us. The addition of a tiki bar was another reason we wanted to stay here. So Saturday we head down to the pool in the afternoon. This is when the stay started to go bad.

So when we first went down there were no seats at the bar. Seemed busy but as the Afternoon went on we realized the bar was full of locals and not hotel guest. They staff seemed to favor the locals over guest to the point there are no seats. Finally a few left so we got to grab some seats at the bar. The bartender was okay but the drunk locals were not. Turns out they come to the hotel not only to drink but use the pool & hot tub.

The local drunks continued to give guest of the hotel a hard time and one guy was really over the top and was making a group of ladies celebrating a  bachelorette party really uncomfortable with his sexual comments. Again these are not the kind of locals the hotel should want around. They even bring their drunk wife's that all were drinking I the hot tub. This one guy started getting rude with my wife while I was away for a minute so when I returned it almost got ugly but the bartender finally kicked him out. Didn't matter at that point we had enough of the pool for one day.

They next day was more of the same locals and no seats so we decided we would cut our stay short a day. This must be something that happens a lot here because even after telling the hotel desk Sunday why we were checking out early and that we would be checking out Tuesday (48 hours later) they told us there is a $100 early departure fee. I think the hotel knows the pool and bar being open to the public is an issue for guest so they make you pay to leave unhappy...

I ended up getting this hotel through a Hotwire bid.  For some reason ALL the hotels for the dates I was seeking (non weekend) were sort of crazy expensive compared to other times we've stayed in Key West.

It didn't matter what source I used, all the hotels in the city during this time seemed a little out there in outer space as far as pricing went but that is when we were going so we went with it.

Despite the price we paid this hotel to me lives of to he Hotwire ranking which was listed at 3.5*.  While we didn't exactly use all the amenities of the hotel the most important part that being the room worked out fine.

We had a room with 2 queen beds for 4 people.  The room was of an ok size on the ground floor.  The bathroom had an armoire type closet with shelves where the iron and board, hair dryer, hangers and safe were.

The first issue we had was with the safe.  It was locked when we went to use it.  I had called the front desk and the maintenance people were gone for the day.  It was about 8pm.  It wasn't really an emergency so we just dealt with it until the next morning when the issue was corrected.

Another issue seemed to be the shower valve.  Ours was weird in such a way where it just kept turning with no real stop position.  12 o'clock was off and around 6 o'clock was warm to hot.  You'd have to play around with it to figure it out where you should put it and getting it in the right position to turn off properly took some practice.

The beds were comfortable and each bed had 4 large pillows.  The TV was facing one side of the room as it was pretty flush to the wall.  There wasn't an articulating mount so I couldn't pull it off the wall slightly so the other bed could see it better.

The AC had what seemed to be controls on the unit itself but there was also a thermostat.  The AC unit seemed like it could be manually controlled despite the thermostat so we just adjusted it to suit us.

The location of this hotel is not far from the exit to the island back to the main highway off of Key West on the north east side of the island.  While it's not close to the main strip it's not far of a drive and is not far from the larger shopping stores in the area should you need them (Publix, Walgreens).

The Inn At Key West did charge a 15 dollar a day "resort fee" which was explained on the key folder for the internet, parking and some other service I can't remember.

Well in the Hotwire listing it said that the hotel had "free parking" as this is one of the amenities I had checked off in the filter.  This resort fee sort of counters that claim doesn't it?  Also I understand that some hotels charge for internet but others it is included.  This so called resort fee just seems like a income generator.  Usually Hotwire will say there is a resort fee for "Blind bids".  This time I don't remember seeing it on the listing.

Either way despite all these little issues, I still enjoyed my stay at this place.  Their pool and landscaping really is the hallmark of this establishment.

When I return to Key West and perhaps if I was to get this hotel again in a Hotwire bid I wouldn't be disappointed.

Trying hard to be a nice hotel in a remote location of the island.

Positives - beautiful pool area and tranquil caprock waterfall. ( one of the few that is well done) Well done pruning to the tropical trees. Someone has a good eye and cares about their effort. (Often over looked touch) excellent bedding and well decorated (albeit slight over) rooms. There is a "monkey climbing palm trees" theme that hardens to the British East India Company of 18 & 19 century.

Negatives - (sigh) - no elevators for ADA access. Traveling with Mom and G'ma who both have moderate disabilities. Mom booked the rooms and indicated needs. Both rooms are on the 2nd floor. Funny thing about ADA rules. There not important until you watch someone you love struggle. As a firefighter, the thought of how to evacuate is never far either. Dad, usually a tough guy is also struggling a bit post a minor surgery. TMI? - just make something mildly difficult much more.

The hotel has an attached but separate cafe. Just "maxwell house" coffee in the room and $2.65 at the cafe. (Free refills)

    More to write later...

My husband and I have been going here for years now.  We love Key West and The Inn at Key West is our favorite place to stay on the island.

The pool is really big and beautiful and has palm trees hanging over it so you can always find a place that has some shade.  This is important to us because my husband is very fair skinned and burns up in the sun!

They have a tiki bar next to the pool that is just fabulous!  They have excellent drinks - my fav is the Key Lime Martini!  They also have a great menu and they will let you order from other places and have it delivered pool side!

Their staff both at the bar and in the hotel are always friendly and helpful!  We have enjoyed every stay there and plan to return again this fall!

After reading previous yelps, I am surprised by the negative comments. I am thinking, there was issues and this place remodeled or upgraded or took those negative issues and made some changes.

With that said, I am very pleased with this hotel. They first roomed us in a room by the parking lot. Hubby was not feeling that, and they changed our room to an inside room with no problem.

The bartenders have all been super cool and accommodating. The hotel gives you a free drink coupon....well, we learned that only pertains to well drinks. I wanted Bombay gin. Bartender said he could hook us up and he did. Very cool dude.

I can see how some people complained about the pool area being too busy. I can see it happening, but both times I went down to the pool I had no problem getting a decent seat. The service outside was attentive and nice.

And as far as the rooms, they are clean. What else could you ask for? I have no problem coming back here the next time I visit Key West
