seriously why no one has written review on this hotel. o.k I travel a lot and very picky this hotel is amazing. large very clean and modern rooms. with kitchen and a fool size fridge. if you are in to cooking take your spoon fork and knife. they provide plates glasses coffee cups a frying pan and a pot but no silver wear. don't eat or drink the stuff in the fridge or counter very expensive. shower is to die for and sheets are so white meaning clean. if you are staying in this hotel don't rent a car parking is very expensive. it's 1 minute walk to beach and 5 minutes walk to lincoln mall the main street for shopping bars night life and restaurants.everything is walking distance and you can take bus. for a south beach hotel price was pretty good. friendly staff. and they had free breakfast from i think 8 to 10 am and croissant is a must have I ate about 4 myself and coffee is real coffee not watery. so overall very nice i truly loved it

I came here for a Bachelorette party this past weekend. Naturally, we had the Penthouse which had a beautiful view. As you can imagine we were paying a lot of money. Kudos to the staff as they were extremely nice and helpful. The hotel entrance is hard to spot since it's actually ON 21st Street at Collins (west of Collins)! There aren't any signs on Collins and I only assumed by the building size/style that it was Boulan. The hotel itself appeared clean and modern. It wasn't loud or crowded during our stay.
If you're looking to lounge at the pool/Jacuzzi/beach, head to the Shore Club nearby. They have free entry and the beach is a short walk away. The location is very close to the beach and plenty of things to do, see, eat and drink. If it's not within walking distance, it's a short cab ride away.
The downside was parking was $35 a night through the hotel. I find it mind boggling that my group of girls are staying in a PENTHOUSE (spending quite a bit of money) suite Sat-Mon, and was told we cannot get a courtesy comp on ONE parking spot for our stay. Just ONE. Only ONE. That's all I asked for. I ended up parking at the garage located at the Convention Center (640 17th Street) about 1/2 mile away for $1/hour (pay when you leave). If you pay at the "meter", it's $1.75/hr and you can use your CC. For parking info: web.miamibeachfl.gov/par…
Even better, there was also a one inch by one inch blood stain on the couch cushion. That's lovely! No it wasn't ketchup or hot sauce. Those things have a different consistency. It was never cleaned during our stay (cushions weren't removable either). When we asked for extra pillows, I was kindly told that they don't have very many extra pillows or even blankets/sheets. What? Where am I staying? But, they were able to scrounge up 2 for me. The lobby also smelled disgusting. Despite a few short comings, the staff was very polite.

I rented the big penthouse and was extremely disappointed. The service was terrible, I had no cushions for my patio furniture, the refrigerator smelled like fish, there was no power in the front bedroom and the decor was cheap and tacky. I would never stay here again and I would never recommend this crappy motel to anyone. Zero stars!

Why in the world has no one written a review about this fantastic hotel?! Could this be South Beach's best kept secret? Perhaps it is.
This gem of a hotel is perfectly located one block from Ocean Drive, which is where most of the night life is. This is perfect because if you were to stay directly on Ocean Drive, you would find it quite difficult to sleep at night, as the street is jumpin well into 3 or 4 am even on weeknights. Boulan is just close enough to make both nightlife and resting convenient.
I stayed here for a few nights before my cruise. Boulan exemplifies affordable luxury without pretentiousness. This is very hard to find in this day and age. We had a penthouse room that was beautiful; contemporary furnishings, cool kitchen design with microwave, oven, stove, and dishwasher, ocean view, balcony, washer and dryer, and direct access to the rooftop pool and hot tub. This access came in very handy after a day of walking up and down the abnormally long (to me at least) blocks on the streets of South Beach. The pool\hot tub hours were a little bit off. they were only open until 8pm, which seems very early to me. I like to wade in the water and relax before bed or at least until 11pm-ish. This is my one and only dislike about the place.
So how did it manage to still get a 5 star review anyway? The extraordinary customer service, of course. Every member of the staff from desk clerk, to doorman, to security was fantastic. When you want to go to the beach, they offer you a complementary umbrella and two beach chairs. Just present the voucher to the beach vendor when you arrive to the beach and they will set you up. but wait, there's more.
Around 11pm, I was doing laundry the night before we were leaving, only to find that the dryer in our penthouse didn't work. I had already washed my clothes and we were boarding out ship tomorrow morning. I went down to the front desk and explained my plight to the person on duty. To my surprise, he had a security guy walk with me and my wet laundry to an unoccupied room where I could use the dryer. Moreover, the security guy stayed and watched out for my drying clothes while I went back to my room and watched TV. Who does that?! I mean, really? Apparently, Boulan does that.
I would give this place 10 starts if I could and I'll be back later to post pictures. The next time I come to South Beach, I already know where I will be staying.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful!!! The rooms are spacious. The decor is modern. The hotel room itself was very clean. The first person we dealt with at the front desk was so helpful and very attentive! Another plus, it's walking distance from Lincoln Road.
My only complaint is the valet. 1st- There is no actual space to pull your car to the side and wait. It's waiting for the valet, after you check in. 2nd- We had a number of guests visiting us in the hotel and they were told it would be $15 to park, but could not pay because of the time of the evening. When we checked out, we were charged for a full night's valet. The same person who was there in the evening, was not there in the morning and there was no way to dispute this. It was a $40 charge we were not expecting.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I'll explain why I only gave 4....
First, let me start off by saying that this hotel is absolutely beautiful. It has a very clean, chic, 'Art Deco' feel. Our room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The location was superb, as it was within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops on the strip.
The hotel also had a great rooftop pool that was very clean and well maintained. Pool chairs were well stocked, which was very much appreciated.
Finally, the only reason I reduced this rating by one star was the fact that I was very disappointed by the "surprise" deposit of about $600 that my party and I were required to leave upon check-in. I had specifically called the hotel beforehand in order to confirm that there would be no additional fees that we had not previously taken care of, and was assured that there would be no more charges or deposits.
Aside from that, my stay at the Boulan was excellent, and I would definitely stay there again!

Not accommodating at all. Insane construction going on. I got to hotel at 2pm. My room was not ready I was told it won't be ready until 4pm so I need to wait 2 hours in the lobby. The girls at the front desk wouldn't do anything to get the room cleaned even after I expressed to them that I had meetings at 4. A very simple solution was in order, call housekeeping & have the room cleaned. Not rocket science here. In addition no door attendant or bell man had to struggle bringing my own luggage in. The review about the customer service are BOGUS. Had to have been written by an employee or something because I did not once feel satisfied. Meanwhile I am sitting here as they are checking in other guests. But my room isn't ready. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE!!!! THE W, SHORE CLUB, DELANO ETC ETC ETC WOULD HAVE ACCOMMODATED ME!! BIG MISTAKE TRYING A NEW HOTEL! DONT BOOK DONT BOOK DONT BOOK
I wanted to just add an update. I have been sitting here now waiting 30 minutes and I've watched them check in at least 4 other parties.

I would really give this place 0 stars if I could !!!
I book 3 rooms with the hotel for a birthday weekend. I explained to the host I wanted the best room available and as we check in the host notifies us that we have arrived before the rooms are ready, and they won't be ready til 4. Ok , no problem we left and did some shopping and arrived back at the hotel at 4 and the host explains she needs another 20/30 minutes, so to kill time we grab a bite to eat.
We arrive back at the hotel and we're told the room is ready. Everyone is taken to their rooms and as the bellman takes us to our room with our bags. We open the door to a DIRTY ROOM!!!! The bed is undone there is garbage on the counter, the tv is on and the room is clearly not clean. We had been waiting for hours for a clean room to be brought to a dirty room. Them the bellman is constantly paging the host to inform her (might I add there is only 1 bellman)that he leaves us to go downstairs to grab new keys. THEY LEFT US IN THE DIRTY ROOM WITH OUR STUFF!!!!!
The bellman then takes us to the penthouse floor to a room that was not as nice as the first room although it was dirty and could not accommodate us. We stayed at the hotel a couple of days.we spent sometime at the pool and placed a order poolside and the woman forgot to bring our order.
Then our room was never cleaned during our stay. I constantly called down to the front desk and nothing until I grabbed the housekeeper myself when I noticed her on her floor asking if she could please clean our room.Such a shame we had to wait to get our room cleaned til the day we left.the Boulan is a nice hotel with great artwork and even a new club Amore attached but the service is HORRIBLE!!! What is even more upsetting there us nothing that the hotel would do for the inconvenience, the young woman said she would email me and she could take off valet parking valet parking is 30bucks she can't be serious.
This hotel must not care about their business nor their customers and experiences. Several people have left reviews about bad experiences and unlike other pages no one has responded to make things right with their customers. If they keep this up they will not be in business much longer.

Horrible service. Waste of money.
I stayed here never smoked in the room, they charged me 250$ anyway and 'claimed' they had 'photos'.
Excuse me but that made me uncomfortable if you're taking photos in my room that IM PAYING FOR! ...who knows who else they have done this to...
here's another thing...their room service is bullsh*t. It's not even real room service
The people that work there have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! I could do a better job then them!
Think about staying here? Think again id say try the W instead.

This place is an amazing place to stay it was only one block away from the beach. We had a beautiful balcony, our room was gorgeous the bathroom was beautiful. Very large and spacious a room number was 305. we even had a guest bathroom, a washer and dryer, full kitchen. very modern the couch was extremely comfortable was even a pullout bed.
The staff there was extremely helpful very friendly had no problems whatsoever at all. Beautiful rooftop pool with cabana lots of seating areas.
Our bedroom had sliding door through the balcony
plenty of room for your luggage, even had a walking closet, beautiful bathtub. Really had a great time at this hotel I don't have nothing negative to say about it at all. We would definitely stay here again everything is walking distance walk to the corner catch a cab it's really easy.
My room had two big-screen TVs, pots and pans, forks, knives, spatula, there was a Walgreens down the street so if you wanted to make some eggs for breakfast you could definitely do so yourself in your room. Housekeeping was extremely nice and very friendly and attentive everybody in the hotel is great I definitely recommend you staying here. Loved it. !!
