my parents have had an apartment here for the last 11 years. The hotel is in the process of being remodeled(which was very much needed). Its nice, it still needs alot of work to be done but the apartments are beautiful. They have a russian spa which I have never been to but I hear its good.

I live here. Its got a different name, or some of it does. It consists of a large block of hotel rooms owned by a company for tourists, and than the rest is condos, privately owned, and lived in by the owners, or leased long term. I have a beautiful condo, which I rent fully furnished, with all utilities included, for an incredibly low price (Really, I doubt I could find a better deal in Miami, let alone this area). The building is being renovated, which can at times be annoying and obvious, but the workers are all considerate, and so what one elevator isn't all spiffy....The owners of this place deserve a beautiful rennovation! Anyway...Valet parking is always good, they know me and get my car as soon as they see me (you can also call down, but rarely is the wait long enough to warrant that). The Security staff is friendly, has gone abpove and beyond to help me, and the stores on the basement level, while all insanely overpriced, are friendly and decently stocked. Beach is a little rugged, more for a nice walk, not dive in swimming, and the pool deck is well maintained, and the pool is MASSIVE, and...10 feet deep on one side, which I don't think Ive ever seen before. All in all, lucky I found this spot, very happy here

the Owner is a pure a*shole. There is no hygiene, the whole hotel is dirty. Dirt and old hair are all over the floors, cockroaches came out of the bathroom I was using. I have stayed in this hotel in the past, yes it wasn't the nicest or very elaborate.. but it was decent and okay, I never had complaints. Now, I highly suggest not one person stays here, there is not one good quality about it. You can easily find a better deal right on the beach with more hygiene and friendlier staff. DO NOT BOOK CASTLE HOTEL IN MIAMI!! disgusting place.

I stayed in this hotel when I visited Miami upon graduating from High School.

Castle of the Sea - the place had an old playboy charm to it.  The lobby area was really beautiful - wooden walls and cascading chandeliers.

It made me really excited to see our room - but to my disappointment the room did not have the same motif as the lobby.
It was just a plain white room with a cheesy synthetic butterfly that was oddly placed on the wall.

So why do I give this place a four star - well it was clean and it was right on the beach.  The area was really peaceful and just 5 minutes away from the Art Deco District.

The staff there were really friendly - so who cares about the poorly decorated room.....
at least the lobby area was pretty.
