In my opinion, not even worth one star. The place was dirty, staff was nothing but RUDE and did not help in any way when we wanted to switch rooms. The room smelled, pool was dirty and this was a bad experience overall. This is as bad as a cheap Motel and isnt somewhere you should stay to experience Miami Beach. Go elsewhere!

This place reminds me of many of the hotels I've been to in Europe from the stark room and tile floors and complete with a bunch of Italians when I checked in.  They have some strict policies like you can't get a late checkout without paying a fee, but they also have free WiFi and pretty reasonable rates.  The hotel was fine for my stay and I'd stay there again.  Pretty straight up option in North Beach!

We had one night left in our vacation and it was a last-minute decision to stay in Miami beach. Many of the hotels on booking.com had bad reviews and this place came out looking okay. We ended up being really, really happy with our choice.  The room was clean, the folks who work here are friendly, and the pool is nice.  There's also free WiFi which actually works!  For me a nice little perk of staying here was the Bath and Bodyworks soap/shampoo/lotion.  I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for one night during Art Basel weekend.  We had a good rate and it's in a nice and much calmer area of Miami which is great. I love how they only charged $10 for parking and its in a gated lot. We stayed on the 2nd floor. The room is simple, but CLEAN. We had a terrace which I loved and the bed was comfy. Would stay again.

Check in was great friendly and informative staff. However the hotel is lacking a lot of amenenties like counter space in the bathroom no iron pillow were uncomfortable . My room had no balcony and no view while other rooms did. I reserved through Expedia . Would I stay again don't think so. The best thing it's very clean. And secure parking for your car Quiet location close to many restaurants and stores .

This is not a foo foo hotel but it's a minimalist yay time for under $170 a night for a king size bed.

Really great knowledgeable staff. Super clean rooms. Fabulous! Lots of night life, eats, shopping, within walking distance. Beach across the street. On a major bus line to south beach about 15 to 20 minute ride.

Free wifi, AC unit that kept the room ice cold, hair dryer, large closet, mini fridge, tile floors, gated $10 ample parking, pool, towel service. In room safe.  If you are lucky to score a room with a balcony no great view but a nice place to people watch and put up your feet.

The one thing I did not enjoy, the toilet paper dispenser was literally ass level to the seat and about 1cm from the seat. When I'd use the toilet my fat ass would knock in to the dispenser. Not fatty friendly.

I will be back.

Stayed for 10 days at the Collins Hotel. Great location and price. The daily parking fee is US$ 15.00 which is good. No food service however there are many options within walking distance.

I highly do not recommend this hotel. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

The staff was EXTREMELY RUDE. When I arrived to checked out, I was refused a refund to check out one day early, when I asked 5 days in advance and was told by multiple employees that this would be no problem. It is entirely pathetic to me that the Collins Hotel could be so money hungry for just $100. I was also charged an extra $100 for parking.

The pool is absolutely filthy and the room smelled like mildew. Bed was super uncomfortable.

Oh yea, and my AC was broken when I arrived and did not get fixed for two days.

Terrible, nearly traumatizing experience. I suggest literally anywhere else.

We stayed here for 3 nights (6/30/14-7/3/14).

Reservation Process: Online is easy.  They charged this weird $11.88 amount to the card.  The day of, they charge the first night before you arrive.  The rest is paid when you arrive.  3 nights, $99 per night +tax, $10 per night for parking.  It all gets kind of confusing.

Check-in Process:  There is no dedicated place to park your car during check-in.  Hopefully you are lucky enough to get a space otherwise you will have to park illegally.  Once inside the staff wasn't exactly welcoming.  And to make things worse the scanned my credit card 3+ times only to get declined.  It was not a problem with my card.  I called the cc company and they could see the attempted transaction but claimed it was the hotel.  When it was entered manually through the machine, it went through fine.  I think it is on the hotels end which I will get to in a minute.  At any rate things finally went through and we were set.  You are alerted when you book that there will be a $200 deposit for incidentals.  I have a major problem with the "incidental" charge slip.  I was given one of those old school credit card carbon slips to sign, with no amount written.  Someone I guess could have filled in a thousand dollars if they wanted and there is my signature.  I was told that I would get the slip at check out.  I reluctantly signed because we had no choice at this point.  Also, there was confusion about the prepaid parking.  It was on my copy of the reservation but not recognized on their end so that confused things even more.

The next day, I went to the front desk with my husband to request the parking slip date be changed (it said 6/30-6/3).  The manager looks at it, and then looks at my room information.  With an accusatory tone tells us we didn't pay for the parking.  I said it was a part of my reservation, and she said yes, but we didn't charge you.  Obviously since I reserved it, I expected to pay for it.  The fact that your employee didn't charge me is not my fault.  So charge me now and fix the date.  So she did and again my card was declined!  But when entered manually, it went right through.  So is it my card or your machine?  You be the judge.  But this manager is rude and has no business being a manager at all.  She took great pleasure in telling me that my transaction was declined based on her tone and facial expression.  And further, when she changed the date she put 7/30-7/3.  That makes sense...

The room is small but adequate.  It was updated and clean.  I have no complaints about the room other than the view of the dirty parking lot next door.  The one suggestion I have is to either have a microwave in room or at least in the lobby for people to reheat food.

The overall property is well maintained both inside and out.  Overall, our stay was fine.  I think the value is good and the convenience to the beach/restaurants/etc. is very good.

Check-out-Ms. Rude the manager checked us out.  I wonder where she received her customer service training came from.  She didn't say thank you, or ask how our stay was.  She just handed me my receipt.  And then as I drove away I realized they didn't give me my carbon copy so I had to go back.  They gave it to me with no apology for the inconvenience.

Bottom line hotel is fine, manager is not.

We stayed at the Collins hotel for three night. Although not the best hotel ever...  Service was good, Friendly and helpfull staff, great location....  But, slightly overpriced.  Nice little pool, although with salty water

The hotel is clean for the age, the rooms are all tiled which is nice and makes it clean. It smells damp and the AC unit is old and loud but if you like to sleep with noise you'll have it for sure. There are no elevators in the hotel, no coffee makers in the room but there is a small fridge and a hair dryer. All of the hotels in the area look old and tired and there is absolutely no beach activity/bars/restaurants here, that's disappointing.
