Hotel Croydon is SUPER!  It is a trendy, clean new hotel with a cool vibe.  The food is AMAZING!  I had breakfast, lunch and dinner.  All super.  The GM, Jose, is charming, nice and talented.  I for sure would stay again, and told many friends about this jewel.  I travel often and I am hotel picky.

I checked into the hotel for 1 night and ended up staying there a week. I absolutely adore this boutique hotel. The staff was super welcoming. Everything was on point. I felt vert comfortable there. Can't wait for my next excuse to go back.

Thanksgiving week, had a great stay at the Croydon, beautiful rooms, lobby lounge was so cool to relax and have a drink or read one the fabulous art books on the coffee tables.  The location is the best!

By far the best hotel I have stayed at in Miami. We met Nathan (the owner) at the bar and he treated us to a delicious sandwich! He kept us company as we watched the Brazil vs Colombia World Cup game (we had to tell him what was happening). The bartender, Jose was great! We were privileged to be here for opening night and had a great time. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Me and two of my friends stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend because we found it to offer a very reasonable deal for all the great amenities that Hotel Croydon has to offer. We booked only the night before of Thanksgiving and the rates were still great. Booking is also very easy and convenient. This is a small boutique hotel with extremely friendly staff, very spacious and clean rooms, fitness center, spa delicious bar/restaurant "The Tavern", nice pool, free Wi-Fi, valet parking, safe location, and its only one block away from the beach. We couldn't have needed anything more. Why we liked the location so much was because it was a ten minute drive from the loud/bustling area of South Beach. Thats good because its close and easy enough to get there if we want, but at the same time we won't have to be surrounded by noise and tourists all the time. Ifeoma Amachree and Frank Fuentes at the Front Desk were our go-to people for anything and they were always willing to help. They made our stay even more enjoyable!

Katherine I notice you often respond to reviews here. It was one of the reasons I decided ti give it a try when  a  top Miami PR guy suggested it. The rooms are handsome and well designed. And while the staff tries...they are handicapped by what feels like is a lack of leadership. Guidance  it feels like. I am here now. And I want to love this place. The big issue is the restaurant. I have tried to eat at the restaurant 3x now. I'm here by myself so I thought no issue but last night I was told it would be two hours. At 7? Really. When I said I was staying at the hotel they said "that doesn't help here"tTonight I sat down at 5 and ordered hummus and at the  waiters suggestion...,the happy hour Cuban. There were only 6 other tables so is thought all good. 35 mins later I was told they were out of what I ordered. How when our waiter told me several times it was on its way?. Finally 4O mins later....I left. Walked to anywhere they would serve me. Good news is that there are other options.

The staff were both friendly and beautiful. They joked around with us in a professional manner, and assisted us with the few questions that we had. The rooms were clean, beautifully furnished, and ours had  a great view of the ocean. My brother and I were only in town for a night, but I plan on coming back to stay at this hotel for a longer period of time. The bar seemed like a great place to grab some pre-dinner cocktails, or early breakfast. The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was fun. They call themselves a boutique hotel, and they stand by this. So much better than a commercialized, trashy, chain hotel, and MUCH cheaper too.

Loved our stay at the Croydon. Great location across the street from beach and not too far far from South Beach scene. Hotel was just starting to serve breakfast and there were a few service issues, but the food was excellent.

To sum it up: this is a beautiful hotel, but service is still getting off the ground. Upon check-in at nearly 6pm my room was not ready. I had already waited 45mins just to be checked-in. Multiple people ahead of me were hearing the same thing, one gentleman with a family of 4 was flipping out. The girl behind the desk offered little support and just gazed stoically at my request to speak to a manager. (This was clearly her first job in hospitality.) After an exhausting time at the airport (lost luggage and transportation issues), this was the last thing I wanted to hear. However, after speaking to the manager regarding the issue a room magically became available for me within minutes. The manager then called me in my room moments later to ensure everything was up to my standards. The room itself was great, clean, new, nicely furnished with comfy beds and great views of the ocean and South Beach. Oh, and the free cocktail hour each night was also a great way to begin a Miami evening.

I'd probably stay here again based on the rooms, price and location. Hopefully by my next visit they'll have the service thing down pat!

Worst place ever!!!! First off my first night my car was towed because the valet illegally parked our car. And then we caught attitude from the management and the so called general manager very unprofessional. Don't waste your money here walls are thin, you can hear everything. And I don't know how it's possible considering they just opened the doors a few months ago, but roaches where all over my room!!

Honestly, I read the reviews and thought that we would not have any issues. Our expectations were way too high.  First the walls were too thin, we could hear EVERYTHING going on at the hotel.  The pool area had only a few people outside yet all the lounge chairs had dirt and soaking wet covers.  Finally, when we tried to get our car from the valet, they said it would be 30 minutes.  We waited and returned - only to find out that our car was never sent for.  Making it close to an hour!!!!! When we complained (especially the fact that this could have affected a flight, if we had one), both women at the desk looked at us like we were speaking another language.  No apologies, and the valet expected us to tip him!
Just because the furniture is nice, does not give the staff the right to provide horrible service.

SUMMARY:  Overpriced hotel with POOR SERVICE.

I am giving it 2 stars only because the room was clean. I was better off at a Motel 6, at least the service would have been better.

The best thing about the hotel (and the basis for the 5 stars) is the yoga classes offered at the spa. I take Maggie's 9:15 AM class most Saturday mornings when I am in town, and I would highly recommend it.

      Amazing Sunday morning yoga!
Good vibe - serene and peaceful.  I can see an incredible view of the horizon in my standing postures. My new way to get ready for the week ahead.I still feel great.
I'll definitely be back with a little more time next time to get a massage too!

My stay at the Croydon was surpridingly very pleasant. The staff was very attentive throughout my 5 night stay, but lacked in support. There isn't much to eat at the restaurant located inside the hotel or many options within the vicinity of the Croydon either. The location is a bit if a pain. Furthermore, the hotel's menu is very limited and they were out of two items (burgers & lobster rolls) for the duration of my stay. The room was clean initially, but as we went into day 2 through 4 no cleaning was evident, just making of the bed. The bathroom products, I.e. shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. were never replaced & I complained to the front desk & they quickly provided. The floors were never swept or shower cleaned out because sand was in the room, shower, and floor of bathroom from my days at the beach. We were never in our 2 queen room 615,l; therefore, they had all day to clean. The location is an 8 minute ride to Ocean Blvd that costs about $7 with uber. The hotel lacks a real gym, it only has a boxing bag, but no free weights, machines, or cardio equipment. The bed was very comfy and the towels. Overall, I would stay again & the hotel is beautifully remodeled. And the pool closes at 6pm...The hotel's airport shuttle is greeeat!

This hotel was very nice but the hotel service crew was hot and cold.

Lazaro the front desk attendant made sure all if out needs were met. He was awesome.

Jose was amazing and also was nice enough to serve coffee and help us when needed.

But there was this one girl specifically. Yazita. She was horrible and rude. She made us not want to continue our stay at the hotel.
She tried charging us 300 for the room when hotels.com had it for 100. Hotels are suppose to honor those prices so they can make full profit. Otherwise they lose a percentage.  But this lady was like no. 300. Haaaa no. I'll go online.

Then there were a few other rude people at the hotel that were just rude.  It was weird. Some people were extremely nice where others where rude. I didn't like that at all.

The breakfast was free from 8-10. Very very simple. Basivally Bread and coffee.

They bitched at my for bringing coffee upstairs ?! Weird. And if you have leftover food from going out then Forget about it unless you like it cold.  They don't have a microwave anywhere.

After all I did enough the room, the view, walking distance from beach and beach chairs. The pool was nice and there's an upper deck.  They allow dogs and the hotel was nice overal.

So that's about it. I would recommend it. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. GO TO HOTELS.com or somewhere and you'll get it for 1/3 price. Also look for coupon codes on those websites. It's a lot cheaper.

I guess overall stay was good. Just the people there were overall poor manners

Boutique hotel in the heart of Miami. Great price compared to what you will pay for hotels in a similar location. The service Is really outstanding. They really do try to accommodate you.. We had our room upgraded just by asking at no extra cost. Nice rooftop pool with an amazing view.

Horrendous customer service. For the price you can certainly do better in Miami beach. Staff is argumentative, unaccomodating, and clearly not schooled in hospitality. One staff member literally picked a fight with us after we asked the music to be turned down, not off, at the pool. Another was willing to accommodate a room request if I reviewed himself and other employees well on tripadvisor. (So take other positive reviews here with a grain of salt). No sense of class from the staff even if the facilities are decent. I would never recommend this place nor stay here again.

Yoga Under the Stars was a wonderful event.  It was organized by Annette Figueredo and the class was led by 2 wonderful instructors Silvina and Bethany, all from the Croydon Rose Yoga Spa.  What a beautiful location to do yoga on a rooftop as the sun was setting.  And, Silvina and Bethany were so wonderful; one led the class as the other demonstrated and walked around giving everyone individual attention.  I'll go back for sure.

I was on business in FL & blindly drove to Miami for 1 night to see if I then slipped to the Bahamas. I booked this hotel on my drive solely based on TripAdvisor ratings. I was so pleased w/the hotel, location and more than anything personalized service from every employee who truly make you feel welcome. I ended up not going to the Bahamas and instead extended my stay for a total of 3 nights because I liked it so much. I heard the hotel is months new. The only negative which is not that bad is I was right next to the ice machine and the housekeeping closet. Im sure If I would have requested a different room if it were available it would have been given to me. I've stayed At the Fontainebleu and Mondrian prior and while great hotels the personalized service from all the staff at Hotel Croydon does not compare. If and when i come back to Miami this is where I'll stay as well as recommend to anyone.

I got a massage today by Robyn at the Spa on the 7th floor of the Croydon. I am here quite often, and haven't gotten a massage in a while, so this was quite the treat. It was incredible to say the least. She really took her time, I did not feel rushed, and I was even able to lie on the table for a few extra minutes longer than I normally would anywhere else. It is really nice that the hotel has taken the effort to make this environment a truly healing and accommodating one. When I walked out of the room, there was a private yoga class in session with peaceful background music, and the warm energy of the instructor as she smiled at me when I walked out of the therapy room made my day. It was the perfect goodbye to a wonderful experience.

okay hotel with decent size room.

I booked through hotwire and its was selected as 3.5star hotel.
no king size bed even i booked month in advance, given two queen beds.

resort fee charged even after hotwire payment. $15 per night.
good thing is resort fee covers beach towels, chair and umbrella at beach.

valet parking - 36pernight. if you want to save money park on 36th/collins where parking is free 6pm to 8am; other hours $1 per hour / three hrs max.

I would have give this hotel 5star if not for its location which is far from where the life in south beach starts. We had to take taxi every time, and note that taxi in sobe is expensive! There r also no variety of restaurants nearby. But other than that, the hotel is very clean, very comfortable, and the staffs are very nice. We came down around 1 :30am to the lobby for coffee but was closed, so we went to the bartender to ask if he serves coffee and he made us with no question at all. It wasn't his job actually. I also asked for a knife to slice my lemon but he gave me a bowl of sliced lemon instead. They give complimentary breakfast, and happy hour too around 5 to6pm(not sure with the time). Reserving your shuttle to the airport is free and easy. Definitely, I had a great time staying there.

I would not stay here again.  Don't get me wrong, the hotel and the location is great.  But, what kills it all for me is the noise.  It is not the noise from construction, nor from people; it is the hotel itself.  Every night all you hear is what sounds like people slamming this and mechanics of the elevator shaft.  A few times my husband and I got up and looked in the hall way because we thought people where standing in the halls, but no one was there.  The noise is so bad that the actually leave earplugs for you in the bathroom next to the soap and shampoo.  Not fun when you are looking for peace and quiet.

Overpriced for what it is--a standard hotel, but in Miami beach.  Room was clean and staff was friendly--I even got complimentary Ferrero Rocher here and there.  But valet service is slow and the front desk is understaffed, so don't come here if you expect great efficiency.

Had a great stay at Croydon. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room- stayed in 2 queen bedroom. The Hotel is newer and the rooms are nice and clean. Yes the pillows are heaven. You will melt right into them. The bathroom was clean and the cleaning staff was very attentive.

Shuttle service- So just to clarify the shuttle service (it was a hott mess with 20+ upset & irritated people)  it comes every hour and it picks up all guests from ALL the sister hotels. All of us thought it was our personal hotel shuttle...NOPE..oh and once the bus is full you will have to wait another hour for the next one SMH!!! We had to wait 2hrs. We were tempted to take a cab like some ppl did but they decided to send out a big shuttle bus just in time. Beware. You may just want to bite the bullet and cab it.
Also Croydon is the first stop (which was nice).

HH- yes they do have happy hour each night and if your near there sister hotel you can receive the HH there also. Me and my crew stop at Catalina which has a younger clientele vibe (but I wouldn't change my hotel choice!!)

Make sure to check out the rooftop, it has an amazing view! Also check out the beach which is less than 5 seconds away from the hotel. It's a short cab ride to all the action on Ocean but towards downtown it may cost you more. It was six of us and each way to Ocean came to about $2 each including tip.

All I can say is the staff at the Croydon is amazing and very helpful. The doormen are very pleasant and are great with flagging down cabs for you. I will definitely stay here again when I return back to Miami.

I purchased the room on Hotwire as I do with all rooms, I am a gal who loves a deal. The reason I stay at local hotel is because I am doing research for my future brides to make sure the hotels I send them to are up to par. This hotel is visually appealing but we def got the Miami snobbery. We were greeted with an announcement that we booked on Hotwire, yes thank you I already knew that. Then I was told we would get a room with double beds she mockingly stated we could use the other bed for storage. Oh lovely, your a peach front desk lady, more like a total rotten peach. Get this lady into customer service reform school because they made my entire experience awful. I hated even walking by the desk when "rotten peach girl" was working. The reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the staff at Tavern, the onsite restaurant is superb. From the hostesses to the wait staff they were very accommodating. I am not listing names for the Tavern excellent customer service because all of the staff was amazing. The day and night staff excellent customer service. I will be recommending the restaurant for rehearsal dinners for brides. I should totally write the name of the front desk girl but I wouldn't ever want to be the cause of someone loosing a job. You know who you are "rotten peach" get some customer service skills or take a job working with computers if you hate people so much. If you have what could be bad news to deliver to a client remember its all about how you deliver it.

I booked a couple of nights here for my parents and they loved it so much they  extended from 2 nights to 5!!  Olexis and Israel are the two kindest and most considerate employees ever - thank you for letting me have your parking space so I could join my parents for dinner.  Speaking of, The Tavern.   Forget the rest, it is the best!  We ate there (I'm kind of embarrassed by this) every night for 5 nights.  The hotel had a great happy hour with free drinks, and then WONDERFUL food with great attention by Gabby and Yordano, Zack and Joe.. they were all wonderful there.  Best staff a hotel can get.  Miguel, thank you for giving my parents a great room with a view of the ocean - even on my cheap Priceline deal, and thank you everyone at the Hotel Croydon for making my parents trip to Miami a wonderful one.

I'm writing this review from their restaurant, in my 37th minute waiting for egg and bacon.

      Cons
      - Impersonal check in
      - incorrect room (despite booking a king myself and my husband received a twin, when friends checked in who requested a twin they were told there were none left and were given a king!!)
      - poor happy hour... Not only is it poorly posted and the service patchy none of the cocktails are included
      - no room service available despite having a restaurant
      - tiny, closet like rooms
      - threadbare sheets which give the sensation of crumbs in the bed. Hugely unpleasant!
      - sleeping with the window open is a bad idea if facing the pool as they started to play poolside music at 7.15am... They then switched it back off at 8.30am. Bizarre.
      - no room to unpack any cosmetics or anything that isn't clothing for that matter
      - alarm clock going off at 4.30am (set by prior guest but not amended by housekeeping prior to our check in)
      - way below average food
      - service in the restaurant is beyond slow. We'd to get our own menus and silverware both days
      - unstaffed roof decks
      - returned home from dinner one night and the heating had been put on full blast in our room
      - blinds broken in our room
      - ikea light fittings and wardrobes
      - the beach sunloungers are in incredibly bad condition and almost insulting
      - turn down service consisted of turning pillows to an angle, pulling the curtains and switching off the air conditioning

      Giant humongous con;
      $500 a night

      Pros
      - good location

This is clearly a budget basic hotel moonlighting, albeit badly, as a boutique hotel. Prices need to reflect the service and building and be reduced dramatically to approx $180 a night, this would've helped to manage expectations and I would've booked elsewhere.

Overall the hotel has been finished cheaply and I've no doubt will date and age extremely quickly

I've started this review three times and can't quite figure out the best way to articulate how much it is a waste of money to stay at this hotel.

For the money you'd pay you'd be best suited to go to any other hotel on the strip...you'd pay roughly the same or less and get more. PLUS, you'd get good service.

While there are many things that were wonky with The Croydon (the super noisy rooms, the doors that don't close all the way, alarm clocks set to odd times, crappy sheets etc) the service is the one thing that really makes this place the worst. With the exception of a friendly bellboy, most of the staff seem resentful to be helping you and/or doing their jobs.

Anytime we asked for anything (towels, the correct size room that we booked, a round of drinks etc) it was like pulling teeth to get some service support. There was one really nice waitress who was excellent at her job and was very social with the guests and we saw her get chastised for chatting with us too much. It was hilarious...people barely spoke to us and when they did they were told not to.

Moral of the story, make better choices!!

      Hello Katherine,
My room was entered shortly after I checked in. I did not understand that. What needed to be fixed up on the same day I checked in? I used two towels and those were not replaced when other things were rearranged. My personal items were rearranged which I did not appreciate at all.

Ugh.  This hotel just gets worse and worse.

As I was going through my credit card bill a month and a half after checking out and settling my bill on departure, a random charge pops up from the Hotel Croydon.

It seems the hotel are now putting through unauthorised charges onto my credit card.  You can't just decide almost 2 months later to add unknown charges to a card when we've fully settled our bill on check out.

Obviously when I notice this on my account, I contact them straight away to refund the charges and to destroy my credit card details so they can't do it again.  This is two days ago.  After various forms of communications (phone calls, emails etc) I'm yet to receive any sort of response, explanation or solution.

Watch your credit card bills when you leave this place.  They might just decide to charge you a month and a half later....

Upon arrival, Hotel Croydon struck me as super cute and boutique-y.  Most of the staff is friendly and young, so the environment is pleasant as well.  Though on the smaller side, the rooms are decorated very nicely and I recommend you ask for an ocean-facing room (though the view is most obstructed by another complex.)  The restaurant and bar serve nice food and drinks - most meals are large enough to split.  Croydon has excellent proximity to the beach; with a quick crossing of the street, you're directly on the white sandy Miami beaches and bright waters!

There was one, very major issue we had with our stay - bugs!  At first, I assumed I had been bitten by a mosquito while I was out, but each morning I woke up with more and more bites.  Though we requested a change in bedding each night along with regular room cleanings, the housecleaners seemed quite inefficient.  Unfortunately it didn't appear that the bedding was ever switched (and we regularly tipped too.)

Since returning home, we thoroughly cleaned our bags and clothes in case of dreaded (bed)bugs.  Fortunately for us the biting has stopped, but unfortunately for Croydon it appears that their hotel (or at least our room) is infested.  Though we enjoyed every other aspect of our stay, we will not be returning to Hotel Croydon - there's too many other beautiful hotels in the area.

I was thoroughly impressed with my stay at Hotel Croydon. The price was reasonable for this chic, spacious boutique hotel close to Miami Beach. The bed was extremely comfortable, there was free happy hour every night for guests, and they even gave a courtesy call to make sure our room was sufficient. The only reason I'm not giving the hotel 5 stars is because their airport shuttle service was not available early enough for my flight which was disappointing. Please stay here though, you won't be disappointed!

For our Labor Day get away for my friend's bday- she picked Hotel Croydon as our home base. This was such a cute and sleek boutique hotel on South Beach.
There is a small pool area just outside the lobby, and if you're adventurous, you can escape to the rooftop and enjoy a nice view of the ocean. There is also a gym and yoga studio you can use.

The room we had had two beds. It was kind of small but still a very beautiful and comfortable room. We had a fridge and nice bathroom. We really enjoyed staying here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty hotel with nice staff that is just across the street from the beach. They provide beach towels for you, but you must sign these out. You can enjoy lounge chairs up until 4pm. Most importantly, there's also a hotel happy hour nightly! You also do not need to worry about getting to and from the hotel from the airport- they provide a free shuttle which comes pretty much every hour.

      Very Bad experience

I made a reservation online thinking that my flight from Miami to NY is canceled.
After I made the reservation I was told that my flight is on.
I called the hotel to cancel my reservation 10 min after I made the reservation and they transferred me to the reservation office.
I tried talking to them for over 15 hours.
At the beginning the call was getting disconnected and then the office was closed.
In the morning (7am) I was able to talk to a rep, she asked me to call after 9am to talk to the Manager named Su.
After 9am I called and was asked to call later because Su was not in.
I called back at 9:30 and I was transferred to Su and I left a message asking her to call me back.
After I didn't get a call back I tried calling them 4 times and every time I called my call was disconnected.
I am very disappointed with their service.
      Will never recommend them

UPDATE:  Stay Away From This Hotel!!

Within a day of each other, my colleague and I were both notified that our credit card numbers had been compromised and used for fraudulent charges in the Miami area. The *ONLY* place we both used our credit cards was Hotel Croydon!

If you read some of the other reviews, you'll find this hotel has had past instances of questionable and even fraudulent charges. Now, it would seem that someone there has taken to stealing CC numbers altogether!

Authorities have been notified and there is an investigation ongoing. STAY AWAY!

      Highly unimpressive hotel, stay away!

The rooms seem boutique like at first until you actually walk into the doors. Extremely small and uncomfortable rooms and most of them with a lousy view.

Can't understand how and why this place has a 4 star rating. You're better off staying in any of the one star motels in the area, you'll get more for your money.

I don't leave reviews very often but the hotel was lovely.  It had a boutique style room, very clean.  Also Israel, door man/bell man, was always super friendly and helpful.  I was staying for awhile on business and he made me feel very comfortable.
