This hotel is very clean. Channels are limited on the tv but there is wifi so who needs tv!? Ahah. Fridge needs upgrading. Decent size room. Not too cramped. Check out the bay view. The location is okay, seems like most food is on the other side of the bridge. And it's kinda a b**** getting in to the parking lot. Showers ruff. Overall good job.

The room is spacious. There is a fridge. Parking is free. Wifi is free. There is a pool. There is also a pool table. It only cost $58 after taxes. What more could you ask for? cons. The tv is satellite so if it rains your sol. but other than that i get a room saver coupon and stay here every time i am in Miami.

Truly a 2 to 3 star inn that rates 4 stars! Ok, it's past it prime structure-wise, but the location for the price is nearly 5 star. We stayed four evenings, after giving it a one night tryout. Pool is bay
side. Mornings and evenings sitting between the pool and the deep blue bay are beautiful and quiet. Try it!

I felt was a little overpriced (285$ total) but at a great location. Needs a little updating, wifi was very slow

After staying a few nights in an over-crowded hostel in South Beach, I was surprised to find I could rent a HUGE room here with small kitchen (well, at least the mini-fridge worked) for $50 a night, especially since it was not listed on any of the travel search sites like expedia/kayak.com, etc (and the best bargains usually aren't!). It's 30 minutes from South Beach, in a safe neighborhood, but does attract a noticeably "ghetto" crowd. Whatever, I don't stay in motels to socialize.
I had read with horror on other travel sites reviews about the place, but then I remembered how all cheap motels always get bad reviews- and "you get what you pay for" is how most honest people respond. There seems to be a big trend of people reviewing cheap motels just to be nasty and get revenge- they either exaggerate or are so clueless that they don't understand $50 a night is a CHEAP MOTEL... you can't expect the Hilton on that kind of budget. You should be thankful for matching sheets!
No need to catastrophize with this place- the rooms are clean and ultra-spacious, did not see any bugs present, and it was convenient having the car parked for free right outside my room.
There's a pool out back that doesn't appear to get much use, but offers a tasteful courtyard over-looking Biscayne Bay (you could literally jump into the bay from there!), which is really quite pleasant and romantic.
I love the funky, 1950's motor-inn sign- it's a true vintage, more in step with the funky motels of the Florida Keys than modern-day Miami.
The funniest thing was about a year after my trip, I was randomly watching an episode of Reno 911 and noticed the familiar setting of the hotel... if Reno 911 can shoot an episode there, it's good enough for budget travelers!
