    Stay away from this hotel at all costs.

    My friends and I made the mistake of staying at this so-called hotel (more like a motel) during our stay for the Orange Bowl game a few years back.

    Upon arriving, the desk clerk, who happened to be the owner's son was extremely rude to us and would not check us in until after 2pm. Then after telling him that we would be having an additional guest they tacked on a $75 fee per night to stay. Also, we booked a room with two queen beds and got a room with two twin beds. But that was not the worst of it.

    The last night of our stay, game day, we came back to our room to find it completely trashed and many of our possessions stolen. No forced entry and we know for sure that all the windows were locked as well as the door upon leaving for the Orange Bowl game. We complained immediately to the manager/owner who was asleep in the lobby and said nothing could be done about it until 8 am. She claimed that the manager was not around and she refused to help us. Later in the morning we come to find out that she was the night manager and co-owner of the hotel. But wait it gets better.

    We called the police and they came down to check things out and take down information. Good thing one of my friends our group spoke Spanish because when the police were interviewing the manager/owner she told them in Spanish that we were the ones who had done this and we had set the entire thing up - we had trashed the room, we had taken our items and hid them to make it look like they were stolen, we were nothing but trouble since we arrived at the Leslie Hotel. If none of us spoke Spanish the entire conversation would have gone unnoticed. The manager didn't realize one of us knew Spanish. We confronted her about what she was saying and she was quite after that. The police took the report and did nothing about it.
    Don't count on the Miami police for anything as they are completely useless. They told us that this sort of thing happens on a regular basis in South Beach and not much could be done about it. And when I asked them to dust for finger prints the officer told me, "This is not CSI."

    We felt unsafe and demanded that we be put up in another hotel. The manager refused to accommodate us and eventually hid in her office refusing to come out.

    We of course had very strong suspicion the desk clerk was behind all of it. When we checked in, we were given the only room with an old-fashion key and lock. All of the other rooms had upgraded card-key locks. There were other rooms with card-key locks available as we found out later. Like I said before, the desk clerk gave us a extremely poor attitude during our entire stay so we had strong suspicion that he was behind the break-in. Remember, no forced break-in for a room that was locked upon leaving.

    Anyways, the following morning upon check out we demanded that our money be refunded. They of course refused. No surprise there. After we argued for about an hour over the situation the desk clerk started to get belligerent. I figured since we were not going to get anywhere with the manager why not start some harmless name calling. The desk clerk didn't like the name calling and threaten to call 911 because I was calling him names. And guess what, he called 911 for the name called. Unbelievable. Then he started to make physical threats towards me and almost jumped over the desk to pounce on me, but the manager told him to calm down and escorted us outside.

    The police showed up and we gave them a complete run down of the events. They spoke with the desk clerk and calmed him down. We left safely but could not take them to court because that would have meant traveling back to Florida to be in court. Not worth it.

    So basically what I'm saying is don't stay at this motel unless you want to have your vacation completely ruined. You've been warned.

    I recently stayed at this hotel for the weekend with a group of friends and while the hotel itself is nice and newly updated, the staff here is the WORST!! Everyone, with the exception of one employee named Rasin and the bartender Valinda, was terribly rude and unhelpful through our stay.  The lady that works at the pool just sits around and barks orders.  She was constantly yelling at us about taking our drinks (that were closed with lids) near the pool and putting up umbrellas on our own because she was too busy trimming the hedges.  The other bartenders and the managers were so unhelpful that we had to get ice, beach towels, and everything else on our own. The valet works with all the nearby hotels, so be prepared to wait 30 or more minutes for your car.  Overall, the free breakfast and hotel were nice, but the staff is the main reason I would never give this hotel another penny of my money!

    I am sad to see the 3 stars for this hotel! My boyfriend and I just visited Miami for the first time last week and stayed here. I chose this hotel based on reviews off trip advisor. It is rated much higher. The hotel was brand new. Our room was on the smaller side for a king room but this is hotel on the smaller side so we understood. The room was still great and we enjoyed the comfy bed. The staff is what truly makes the hotel great. Pablo at the front was so nice to us and informed us on different do's and dont's in Miami. He was always just so friendly and helpful. They open doors for you and get you whatever you need. People complain about their complimentary breakfasts. Its complimentary! Get over yourselves people! It was just fine for my boyfriend and I. Would stay again!

    Really nice, newly renovated hotel. We stay in the Art Deco district every year and this place has been the nicest, tidiest place we've stayed over the years. Great rates which include free beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and free breakfast. Lilly makes this place. When she's not here, no one works. We need more Lilly's in this world!

    The pool is very nice and clean, they have a spa as well. Our stay was flawless. I don't believe you can really rate a place based on their restaurant. They need to have separate Yelp accts- restaurant vs hotel, 2 totally different things!

    Liked the modern vibe, clean feel. Would def come back.

    Stayed here over the weekend. Had a little hiccup with booking through Expedia. Apparently put only 2 people staying instead of 4 and had to tack on an extra $40 per person fee. The person who checked us in was very chatty and took awhile to get people processed in, would've appreciated quicker service. The next front desk lady was a little rude when asked for towels and chairs for the beach. Other than them the employees were very nice and accommodating. Always someone there to open the door and someone asking if we wanted a drink at the bar.
    The room was clean and comfy. Updated bathrooms with rain shower head. The lighting in the bathroom was pretty dim. Our view was of a dilapidated hotel next door that was maybe 20 feet away.
    Overall the stay was enjoyable. You get what you pay for. Grab some drinks downstairs. They're huge!

    Stayed here for 4 nights and had a blast!

    All of the staff I encountered were friendly, informative, and pretty awesome. Special shoutout to Miguel!!!!

    Sleek and modern decor in the rooms. Towels weren't the greatest quality, but whatever.  Free breakfast wasn't the worst I've ever had , pretty good for complimentary (eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham, Swiss, breads, muffins, oranges, apples, oj, yogurt, cereal, coffee)

    Bartender was super nice , I didn't catch her name. But like I said, all the staff were awesome. We made friends with Miguel, and he is so cool and friendly, had a lot of recommendations of where to party.

    Rooftop pool area is my favorite part! Pool is beautiful, clean, lounge feel, so relaxing! I will miss that roof.

    This is a great hotel to stay at for a laid back chill miami beach vacay!

    Nice hotel....however we only eat here, so can only review on this.
    We had curb side seats....great for people watching! We ordered a giant cocktail to share....it was huge, like a giant fish bowl, and we drank every drop. We ordered 2 kids meals for the kids and shared a starter and main between the 2 of us. The starter was a fresh antipasta dish....which made a change from all the deep fried food on offer elsewhere and had ribs & chicken for the main. The food was yummy, but we had to a while for the food to arrive.
    The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed....it was a lovely place to finish off our holiday!
