Established in 1998.

Loews Miami Beach Hotel opened in 1998 and was the first major hotel construction on Miami Beach in 30 years. Loews acquired the historic St. Moritz hotel and fully restored it to its original Art Deco splendor.     Great place to stay in South Beach.  The top floor room I got had incredible views of the ocean, a flat panel TV, incredibly comfy beds, and a lot of space.  And turn down service gave us different candies every night!  That's the way to really win my heart.  I also loved the pool area, where the staff was incredibly helpful, and the location, just blocks away from the start of Lincoln Ave's pedestrian shopping mall or the start of Ocean Drive's people-watching scene.

    Doesn't have basic services like Wi-fi or even a gym (you have to pay $10 to work out next door). Service is pretty bad. They don't seem to care very much. Too bad, since the rooms are actually OK. They just seem to be about 20 years behind the curve when it comes to services and service.

    You know a hotel puts a premium on service when you drive up to the front door and two valets (one for each side of the car) open the doors to let you out. Took three steps away from the car, a lovely young lady was there asking if I'd like a complimentary regular or passion fruit lemonade. All this and I hadn't stepped through the door to the hotel yet.  Of course when we got to the door a cheerful Loews employee was there holding it open and welcoming us to the Loews. Every Loews employee we came in contact with went over & above to provide exceptional customer service.  In addition to that our ocean front room with balcony afforded us amazing sunrise views of the beach & pool area. The facilities are top notch and sparkling. The Loews is perfectly positioned in South Beach, short walk to Lincoln Road or Ocean Drive right in the middle of all the action but removed enough to allow for peace & quiet. Breakfast on the Terrace at Preston's is to be savored the lobster omelet with mango chutney inspires cravings the staff again amazing. Our server remembered us from our previous visit 10 months prior and greeted us by name (without being cued in by the hostess). If you are going to spend your hard earned money on a vacation the Loews is the place for you you will not be disappointed.

    i've stayed here 4 times and brought my family.

    each time has been a great experience.

    the hotel is clean, beautiful and the staff is accommodating beyond belief.

    the grounds are gorgeous.  the pool is lagoon style and large.

    they have water stations flavored with fresh fruit everywhere.  they even have free ice tea, passion fruit and lemonade stations during the late afternoons.

    my only complaint is that the pool has a tendency to get a bit dirty with all of the people in it.  you can see a lot of hair and particles floating in the water if you swim with goggles on.  but i'm not sure anything can be done about that other than swim in the ocean.  but god forbid that oil spill affects miami beach.

    the ocean is a short walk behind the pool and the water there is clear and blue.  the sand is white and clean.  and the south beach you always hear about is a 5 minute walk south.

    Great location- beautiful lobby-reasonably priced- nice pool (could be a little more exciting)- but overall a refreshing place to stay because it is not your standard contemporary south beach decor.  More of a family hotel.

    fancy shmancy. big comfy bed, beautiful soft. late night room service was super late and cold, minus un star. Then it was made up for in the morning when the continental breakfast rolled in. bomb. pastries. jam, fruits. the pool and jacuzzi are open all night!

    Just got back from South Beach. The hotel was great - beautiful, great location a block from Lincoln Rd, friendly staff.  Pricey but everything in South Beach is.  This hotel has a fabulous pool and doesn't have the thumping club in it that some of the hotels do which was a plus for us.  The food at Preston's was good (although the breakfast buffet was nothing special for $35/pp).  Nice service on the comfy couches and chairs out on the patio.  They brought cheese, almonds and olives with drinks.  The room was spacious, large bathroom and nice bathrobes.   We saw a few celebs - Calvin Klein lunching on Lincoln Rd., Padma from Top Chef doing a photo shoot on Ocean Drive, Frankie from Make me a Supermodel in a surf shop and Charles Barkley was on our flight home!

    Have stayed here several times.  The pool area is great and the service out there very good.  Who doesn't love frozen grapes delivered to their chair?  Would you like an Evian Mist?  Why no, but thank you for asking.

    Oddly enough, while they've improved the club-like feelings around the pool, service and room amenities are not so great.  They seem to be in the midst of a room refresh, so some rooms had flat-panel TVs and some didn't.  There was some new furniture, but some things felt worn.  The fridge in my mini bar had a decorative panel missing that left a depressing metal door with glue residue on it.  In the bath, the fitting around the shower head was loose and hung away from the wall.  Housekeeping was slow to make up rooms during the day and then returned frighteningly early (5:30!) to do turn-down service, which spoils the charm of returning from dinner or a night out to find their attractive philodendron leaves, orchid blossoms and really yummy mints on the pillows.

    In general, the staff is friendly and service in the restaurants and at the pool terrific, but they need to get back to where they were a couple of years ago when the rooms felt fresh and luxurious, especially at their price point.

    When i stayed here  i truly did enjoy the hotel. Valet was fast. Check in was efficient and quick. The suite was great! ;) Very spacious and clean. Art deco decor. I especially loved the large bathroom space. The view of the ocean was romantic and private. I liked the layout in the back. (Although there were some homeless people laying out by the ocean at night). Still, it was romantic, clean, and safe. The pool and walking area, in the back, were lush with trees, plants, and flowers.
    Would return again.

    welcome to south beach!  the hotel itself is standard (feels recently renovated), nothing spectacular, but its prime location makes up for it.

    location - right ON the beach and between lincoln and espanola

    rooms - clean, flat-panel TV with real high definition.  make sure to request for a room with a balcony overlooking the beach.  not a bad way to wake up to the sunrise :)

    gym - there is a $10 gym fee that gives you access to their state-of-the-art cardio equipment, steam room, and jacuzzi.  you can connect your iPod directly to the treadmill for it to control and display your playlists.  if you want to pass on the gym fee, go for a run on the sidewalk/boardwalk along the beach.  try to go in the morning to avoid the excessive humidity, heat, and crowds of the afternoon.  be aware that there are a lot of homeless people on the beach, sidewalk, and boardwalk in the early mornings.  

    extended area - don't walk around by yourself at night...seriously.  even though you're in a "nice" part of miami...it is shady

    airport - 25-30 minutes from MIA

    pool - very nice

    security - the exits to the beach from the pool area are gated and can only be accessed with your room card

    misc - there is a second round of housekeeping every evening around 6:00pm to check if you need any additional toiletries.  additionally, they ask you if you want any mints.  haha random.

    This was a nice hotel.  I wouldn't call it a 5 star, but it was nice.  The rooms are newly renovated, and fairly standard looking.  It's a great location, right by the beach and the party scene on Collins.  The pool is spectacular.  The lobby is nice.  My only complaints about the room would be that you can hear everything in the hallway.  Also, there's no counter space in the bathroom and we had to put all our toiletries on the toilet seat or on the floor.  The bathroom was fairly standard too... not luxurious by any means.  Oh, and the charge for wifi is ridiculous.  At the rates you pay for this place, it just seems petty to have free wifi in the lobby but charge for it in the rooms.  The business center closes in the afternoon/early evening.

    As an experienced traveler, i really appreciate this hotel. The people are nice, the facilities are clean and luxurious, and the property overall is very nice. The food is also very good here. What impresses me the most is that I have stayed at 4-5 hotels in Miami beach (all 4-5 star) and this hotel blows them away with their customer service. People here genuinely want you to have a good time. Additionally, it is clear that this hotel has a solid management team. This is a well oiled machine. This is what hotels should look like everywhere in terms of operations and service. The only time I don't stay here if when its fully occupied. Great Great Hotel

    It's been a while since I've stayed at a 'resort' hotel - typically my work trips take me to more of the standard business versions of Marriotts, Hiltons, etc.  But this place was FANTASTIC! As many reviewers say, the Loews staff were terrific.  They anticipate their guests needs (from an Evian spritz at the pool and tanning oil and sunblock to passing frozen grapes at 2pm followed by mango smoothies at 3pm.)  It was great to have both the poolside lounging option or to head down to the beach.  My room was in the spa tower (tip!  request the spa tower, it's in a separate building and away from all the hubbub of where you check in, mutliple restaurants, etc.)  Plus my room was on a corner and had a great view of the ocean - my corner room was bigger than some of my office mates' rooms which were more centrally located in the spa tower.  The one thing that I would caution is to be prepared to drop a lot of cash - our daily lunches (for 3 people) were about $120-$130 and a sushi roll, miso soup and a single glass of wine at the hotel's sushi restaurant was $55 minus tip.  It's a wonderful hotel, just as long as you're prepared to pay a pretty penny for the incredible service, location and plentiful amenties.

    When I looked for hotels in Miami I had a few things in mind.  1. Centrally located 2. Four stars or more 3. Beach access/nice pool.  Loews delivers on all three.  We were able to walk to all of the clubs/restaurants/shopping and only had to take the cab once to get to Taverna Opa (highly recommended).  The rooms are small but the beds are comfy.  Their pool service is amazing.  They lay out fresh towels for you when you get down to the area, find you umbrellas if you so desire, bring you frozen grapes/chilled towels, buckets of ice to keep everything cool and anything off the menu in an efficient manner.  

    They don't get the fifth star for not having any appealing restaurants (in my mind) and lack of fun bar/lounge area.  Doesn't remind you of being in South Beach like the Delano or Shore Club.

    Oh wow. I love this hotel. I love the rooms. I love the staff. I love feeling like someone important.

    The beds were so comfortable. One time I stayed I had an ocean view, the other time a city view. And I was not disappointed either time.

    I love the pool area. I love the walkway to the pool.

    My dream was to get married in the main ballroom with ceiling to floor windows overlooking the ocean... But we chose a cruise instead.

    But, I can't wait to have another opportunity to stay at this hotel. And it's right in the heart of things on South Beach.

    Fabulous hotel with a great staff.  Oceanview room in the main tower was extremely nice, well appointed, and the bathroom was especially nice. Pool and pool area - very large; plenty of room to get to the outer edges if you don't want to be right in the middle of people!  Easy walk to the beach from the pool area. Nice setting. Wonderful bar. There is no happy hour as the brochure states, but they give you a nice mix of nuts with your cocktail order - wasabi, cashews, etc., more than most bars!  Top quality bar really!  Dined for breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  Delicious.  Emeril's is also located in the hotel, too. Was pretty easy to get reservations.  This hotel is also convenient to the convention center.  It is several blocks away, but a nice walk.  I would definitely return to this hotel....

    The whole time I was there I could hear the theme music for Miami Vice in my mind...

    OK, not so, but let me say this hotel is a great place.  Great location on the beach, room not too big considering had a room upgrade, but top floor oceanfront views are incredible.  There is something way cool about laying on your hotel bed and seeing the brilliant aqua sea while your head is still on the pillow.  

    Hotel amenities are great - pool is great, food, meeting space service -- all great!  I was there for a conference , but I can tell you that the beach access and services on the beach are also "great"  ok, getting redundant.

    Let me say, I wanna go back and sit on the beach drinking the Miami Express.  Yes, that's the drink you want on the beach.

    This is my happy place.  The staff's amazing!  They are so friendly and helpful.   The door is always opened for you upon entering and exiting the Hotel.  You are addressed by your name.  The gift shop, bar and  restaurants are five star.  I love/love the pool area and service.  Frozen grapes at 3:00 p.m. everyday!  You don't ever have to leave the Hotel.....I love the Loews in South Beach!

    I thought this hotel was OK.  Stayed here for a friend's 30Th birthday party.  The hotel is just way too big for my taste and there are so many more nice places to stay in South Beach.  I mean the hotel has 790 rooms, including 57 suites of which I did NOT stay in, with views of the city, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean(nice). One hundred of these rooms are located in the refurbished St. Moritz Hotel, a landmark building originally constructed in 1939 that rests adjacent to the hotel's brand-new, 18-story tower. The tower houses the majority of the rooms and suites. You can choose between the Art Deco style of the St. Moritz or more contemporary-styled quarters at the main tower.  We stayed in the main tower.  Did not eat here so I could not tell you whether the food is good here or not.

    UPDATE!!

    Have not been able to go here yet but there is an Elemis Spa  that was added!  At $12 million, the 18,000- square-foot Elemis Spa due to debut in Summer of 2007. From celebrity desired treatments including Lonithermie Cellulite Reduction to Cupping, Elemis Spa treatments and products will make every guest feel like an "A-lister." Visitors of the Art Deco inspired Elemis Spa will sample culinary creations from Chef Emeril Lagasse's first-ever Spa Menu. The spa will include 15 treatment rooms with views of the posh pool or glittering Atlantic Ocean as well as a sun deck that overlooks the beach.  NICE!  This is a reason to like this hotel more!

    Before 9/11 when I lived in NYC and had to get out of town, Miami/SoBe was one of my favorite destinations. It was a direct flight after a short cab ride and I could go at the last minute or plan in it advance and look forward to a nice extended weekend on the sand. Loews Miami beach was my choice accommodation for several reasons: I was not anorexically skinny enough for the Delano, the Loews had a frequent guest program and they let me bring my little 6 lb dog Widgie the National Jetsetter with me. I was always treated well, the room was clean, I would get upgrades to the swanky top floor suites and they were super nice to my little furry friend. The beach was beautiful, the pool cool and refreshing and the a.c. rampant. All good things. The hotel is located well so going to Lincoln Road, Ocean Avenue or even into Miami proper was facile. I have not been back for a bit but hope that when I am in Miami next, I find it as good as in my memory of my many stays there.

    I just love this hotel !!!  The rooms are huge and I think all have an ocean view.  All updated with flat screen tv's, beautiful marble bathrooms, and spacious.  The bars downstairs are also very nice, a little pricy, but great and friendly service - and the sushi bar is actually very good for a hotel

    Absolutely loved this hotel! Got a free ocean-view room upgrade because our room wasn't ready when we checked in, great poolside service, and great location for south beach. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous!  Direct beach access also.  The only thing that made this only 4 stars was the expensive prices at all the restaurants in the hotel, but so many other restaurants are within walking distance that it's hardly an issue.

    I had an AMAZING time staying in this hotel. The staff treated us like royalty, and were super friendly! We were right in the middle of the strip, which was perfect.  The amenities were beautiful.  The presidential suite is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

    Only downside is you have to pay to use the fitness center and to partake in the fitness classes.

    everything about the hotel is beautiful! the fact that it's right on the beach, the free samples, the pool, the rooms etc. the service was excellent. it is quite pricy though. if you can afford it , definitely give the place a try! also, i don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but the hotel lobby smells DIVINEEEE. i don't know what scent it was but my friends and i always talk about going back just for that reason! haha.

    and playing water volleyball with Jadakiss in the pooltwas just icing on the cake.

    This place is just fabulous. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the pool is gorgeous. My mom and I stayed here last August and loved it. We are in South Beach now and decided to try Hotel Victor, we were so disappointed that we stayed one night and moved to The Loews! What a difference. The Loews is kid friendly but is also great for adults. The spa is very nice, we both had excellent massages.  Try the poolside nachos, YUM!  Overall, this place has impeccable service, is in a great area, and is a home run!

    As a former meeting planner, I went into this hotel with a corporate eye.  With meetings, it's all about service, cleanliness, originality, and location.  This hotel has it all and I could not recommend it higher.  

    Service - The best I've ever had.  Granted, I was mainly dealing with VIP services and the meeting staff -- but these people were professional through and through.  They made their extreme efforts look...well... effortless.  Everyone had a smile on their face...all the time.  When asked about the places the locals go to eat, they pointed me in the right direction (Puerto Sagua, a nice 15-minute walk away).  They made all my meeting dreams come true and made me look great in the process.  

    Cleanliness - SPOTLESS throughout: the restaurants, rooms, ballrooms, pool area, everywhere

    Originality - The menus were not the norm, breakfasts had cool Cuban specialties and fresh juice blends (yum).  The banquet menus were also full of great new food items for your meetings -- PLUS the dress up a buffet line like nothing I've ever seen: flamingos, asian umbrellas, wild animals, all very South Beach and all really cool.

    Location - Well, it's beach front and you can't get much better than that.  Just a short walk out the back exit of the pool takes you to a walkway that is the back border of the sand.  It's a fantastic.  Also close-by is the shopping and eating mecca of Lincoln Ave.  People-watching at it's best (which one of those blondes is Paris Hilton with her teeny dog?  There are so many!).  And for the record, there is  more plastic surgery here than in Beverly Hills, eek!

    I stayed in the Deluxe Rotunda room, with a huge wall of windows looking out onto the city with a partial ocean view.  Fantastic.  I was also lucky enough to spend some time in the Presidential Suite - a two-story huge room with the best rooftop view in Miami.  

    This isn't an inexpensive hotel, and it may not have the history as some of the art deco places in the area, but I truly adore it...

    I'm not even sure where to begin my rant of frustration with Loews. This hotel gets 2 stars because the beds are super comfy and its pool and beach areas are fantastic, however their customer service and organization is more chaotic than Miami's hurricane season.

    When we checked in, our midget front desk clerk couldn't find our reservation. Since we had confirmed our stay a week prior to arriving, we knew it was some negligence on the clerk's side. When she stood behind her counter, mute with no life behind her eyes, absolutely no action was started to fix this little glitch. After an awkward silence, we had to prompt this little genius to get a manager, or anyone else who knew how to do more than hit "enter" on her computer's keyboard. She disappeared. Not to get a manager or colleague for help - she just disappeared.

    To make a long story short, 20 minutes later, a slightly more competent clerk easily found our reservation, plus the "good" news that on our 3rd night our king rotunda suite would be upgraded to an ocean view suite - with balcony! She also offered the hotel bell service to transfer our belongings.

    Two days later, when it came time to switch to our "upgrade" room, we had to wait downstairs after a long afternoon of boating in wet swimsuits at the front desk for another vapid and vacant clerk to figure out how to activate our room key. She assured us our dry clothes and all other possessions would be waiting for us in the room.

    When we finally entered our upgraded "suite", we weren't sure if we should be more alarmed that none of our belongings were anywhere to be found, or that there was an unexplained hospital bed cart in the corner, or that our ocean view balcony required craning your neck above and beyond a nasty parking garage directly facing our suite to actually see ocean. It was also attached to a bedroom 1/4 of the size of my first NYC studio apartment. After 2 hours of frantic phone calls searching for our luggage and frequent refusals by the manager to actually act as a manager, we were transfered back to an average room. By that point we had missed our dinner reservations and were too exhausted to enjoy our last night in Miami. Oh- and by the way - Emeril's restaurant blows.

    Great place to stay with a very attentive staff.  They never failed to greet us with a smile as though they knew us every time.  I like their lemon water in the lobby.  The location is perfect, only a block from Lincoln Road and walking dist to bars/clubs.  They have an awesome  pool area and also right on the beach.  We had dinner at Emeril's and tried their tasting menu... absolutely delicious.  I am a fan of this hotel.

    I visited Miami Beach for a long weekend and had a very good experience at Loews. Granted, when I am on vacation, it takes a lot to tick me off or disappoint me. The fact that I am not at work is already a big step up (a bad day at the beach is still better than a good day at work, yes?). But the room was clean and modern, beds were comfy, the ocean view was welcomed, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. It's on the beach and a short cab ride to Ocean Drive, which one really should check out while in Miami.

    I think the star of Lowes is the pool. We rented a poolside cabana one day and it rocked!! Especially when the cabana guy came over and opened the champagne for us. Three cheers for high living (even if only for one afternoon...)! The pool area itself is very pretty, the water isn't freezing cold, there are plenty of chairs, and the 2 hot tubs do the trick. Also, they have people coming around with little treats - frozen grapes, strawberry ice cream, and chocolate-covered bananas. Fruit-flavored water is also available for the taking. There is a restaurant by the pool called Nautilus that I can't say enough good things about...we ate 2 meals there and both were very good. Usually pool area restaurant menus are very limited...like, golly gee, do I want a burger or a hot dog..both of which are coming in some sort of plastic basket, right? This place had FOOD...I had an awesome Cuban sandwich with yuca fries (YUCA FRIES!!!).  And it came on a plate! Definitely the best poolside restaurant I have eaten at.

    We also ate at the Emeril's restaurant in the hotel...we all enjoyed our food. We started at Emeril's with a happy hour, and along with our drinks we ordered calamari...may have been the best calamari I have had, it was not even a smidge rubbery AND it had some nice heat to it. I'd say, "BAM!", but how cliche is that?? We also had lunch at Preston's, which is the standard-fare hotel restaurant, and it was fine. There is also a sushi place onsite, but we did not go there.

    The only complaints I can stir up about Loews are minimal...the bathroom counter could have been more spacious, wah wah wah...oh, and there is a spa in the hotel, but I thought the prices were a little steep..steep enough to keep me from booking an appointment, anyway. And the gift shop is stricly for the trust fund set.....Prada sunglasses and the like.  Glad I did not forget my toothbrush, I don't think they had any there...But nothing I can find to complain about is any sort of dealbreaker. I'd stay at Lowes again.

    We've stayed at this hotel a few times while visiting South Beach and overall have really enjoyed our experience. The hotel is comprised of two towers - my experience has been that staying in the main tower is better as the one located over the spa and Emeril's restaurant is a little dated.
    The hotel is very centrally located and right off the "strip" of Ocean Drive. We now currently stay at the Ritz which we feel is a better overall experience for a similar price - however if you find a great deal on the Loews online definitely check it out!

    the welcome from the staff here was amazing-nothing was too much trouble for them,and Freddy my porter was able to even get my mani-pedi booked on arrival :) So why the 3 stars I hear you ask?because i was in a separate building in the Elemis part and there was no one to help that side.The restaurant there was even closed for renovation and so it was basically staff free apart from the spa.In addition i had zero sleep and was woken by a faulty elevators generator going off every 1x mins and then a broken plumbing system where the sound of running water kept me awake. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows lumpy. That saoid the manicure was excellent-I was very happy about that!The conference rooms were good-but the third floor toilets were not very clean.

    I have stayed in this hotel a few times while on business and have enjoyed my stay in main hotel. However, this last time, I was booked in the South Tower of the hotel. The South tower does not appear to be remodeled as is the main hotel (maybe their attempt to stay art deco?) The South Tower has old, creaky, musty elevators, narrow hallways, the rooms are considerably smaller and you can hear everything going on in the hallways. However, I did ask the front desk for a room in the main hotel and although they were fully booked, they managed to accommodate me. Too bad for the guest that got bumped and had to stay in the old tower.

    Staff is friendly, hotel is clean, rooms and beds are comfy. Worth the $400 a night rate in Miami Beach and will definitely return to the "new tower".

    Stayed here with a group of girls for a bachelorette party weekend and had a decent experience. The hotel grounds are nice, particularly the pool area where the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is also in a great location--walking distance from several restaurants/cafes, bars, a 24-hour drugstore and shops.

    If you're planning a group trip (e.g., bachelor/bachelorette party), I'd recommend booking the three-room suite on the 4th floor. If you order extra cots, you can easily sleep around 12-15 people in the entire place if you're cool with doubling-up in the queen size beds.

    Ordered the tuna burger for lunch, my husband had the All American burger. I asked for medium-well on my tuna and my husband requested medium for his burger.  They burnt both. I should've looked more closely at the description... seaweed on any burger is disgusting (imho). I could barely get through half the sandwich.  Way too expensive for what they served.  Between Lario's and Preston's, my South Beach weekend food experience was a bust.

    Stayed here as part of a half-business/half-pleasure trip in April 2008.  The service was great (as to be expected by a top-notch hotel) but the room was absolutely nothing special.

    Location is absolutely 10 out of 10 though - I mean you are steps to South Beach and in the heart of the best shopping/restaurants in Miami.

    I'd recommend Emeril's for dinner - they cook a mean rabbit.

    The reason for my 4 stars is that I can't imagine paying the list rate of $750/night for the room we stayed in (I had a corporate rate of $250/night)

    We stayed here while visiting South Beach for a corporate event. (Personally, The National is much more my style...no chain decor here...completely authentic Art Deco decor & stunning pool), but if you prefer the safer corporate chain kinda place, you'll be happy here. It's clean, standard 4-star corporate chain decor with a Miami slant, nice pool/spa, and direct access to the beach. It's central location on Collins Avenue (one of the main drags) cut down on walking to the Art Deco district and the Lincoln shopping area. Our "luxury" room made us wonder what the "non-luxury" rooms were like...nothing special other than a nice view.

    One of the best experiences ever! It's 24 hour heated pool alone is worth at least half of what you'll pay ! :)  Aah the bliss, to relax in one of the cabanas. The staff was super friendly and efficient, and really cheerful all the time. Must be the sunshine :)

    The rooms were great too. Loved the ocean view we had from our room, and the in-room dining cuisine had some great options. This hotel is where I'll be staying again the next time I go back to South beach.

    The nicest Modern Style hotel I have ever stayed in. Great Location in the Middle of South Beach. Nearly Impossible to get in when any event is in Miami so either Cash up or get comfy with a celebrity.

    It is directly on the beach and has one of the best 360 views of the city. If you just want to gave out to the ocean stay in the main tower but if you wanna see some of the most beautiful people try to get a suite overlooking the pool. I stayed there twice for Memorial Day weekend and it is the center of the festivities.

    Valet is the quickest I've ever seen and security is tight, so if you don't have a key you are not getting on the premises. Every one is nice and friendly.

    For food it is actually linked to Emerils restaurant so exspect to be full all day, and since its linked you can charge everything to the room so all you need to walk around with is a ID and your room card.

    The staff here was GREAT... the bartender I chopped it up w/ everyday was extremely FRIENDLY... and the pool is freakin 24 hrs!  If that doesn't scream STAY HERE, I dunno what does.  The hotel itself is really nice.  Yea, the food and drinks are pricey, but that's just the norm in Miami.  The restrooms by the pool were clean, and the hotel has direct beach-access.  I guess Loews is undergoing construction which is why we got it at such a low rate, but I couldn't even tell you where the construction is taking place.  It seems like every room had a great view of the beach, and did I mention the pool is open 24 hrs?  Haha.  

    When my girl and I were at the pool one evening, we were trying to clean up our area before we left.  (They have glass jugs of ice cold pineapple and cucumber water by the pool.)  My friend was about to reach down to grab a cup when one of the workers bent down to get it and said, "It's okay, I got it.  You're on vacation!"  

    I love you, man.

    I just stayed here for a business trip and it felt like a vacation! I don't know that I would have ended up in South Beach otherwise, but would gladly return. Loews is surrounded by art deco architecture, clubs, shopping, and high-end restaurants.

    My standard room in the spa tower had a glimpse of an ocean view. I liked the nautical color scheme and lack of cheesy, mass produced art. Thumbs up for delivering the NYT to my room instead of USA Today, duvets instead of nasty bedspreads, Lather toiletries, great water pressure, decent gym, pool open 24 hours a day, flat screen tv and ipod dock. My main complaint is that you have to pay $12.95/day for internet access (this was a business trip, after all).

    I did love being able to walk down to the pool area, help myself to nice towels and different fruit infused waters, and of course, the location right on the beach. The water is still cold this time of year but the sun and provided lounge chairs and cabanas were still enjoyable.

    The staff are all accommodating and polite, no complaints at all. I also liked having a little button in my room to indicate if I did not want to be disturbed or needed housekeeping to stop by. I hate those little door hangers that fall off every time you open the door. Room service and food and beverages at the different bars and restaurants all have gratuity and service charge added to them, so watch out for that. The bartender pointed it out to me though, which I appreciated. 4.5 stars.

    This is hands down my fav hotel in Miami. Probably one of my fav hotels in the US.

    Service is always great, location amazing, staff friendly, and the pool....If you are a celeb watcher, keep your eyes open, as the pretty people frequent this hot spot as well.

    They are undergoing a HUGE renovation right now, so summer rates are CRAZY low. If you are looking for a getaway, they are running about $150 ish per night. There is minor construction noise if you are a late sleeper (I am) but I just moved down to the pool :)

    Make sure you get a room overlooking or with a beach view. They are really wonderful.

    The only negative mark I have is that you need to watch your bill closely. I had a client that upon check in was charged for a few dinners and rounds of drinks...wasn't his group. Someone got ahold of a receipt and forged some stuff. Better to take care of any issues before you check out, because the front desk staff is always swamped, and they will try to brush you off and make you call when you get home.

    I have never stayed here but my family and friends make this their place to stay when they are in town.  They tell me the rooms are nice, and the location for vacationing is perfect for south beach.
    My review is of the bar and pool area.  When ever I know a person staying here, I make a day of laying by the pool, ordering drinks, and feeling the stress leave my body.  The beach chairs are on a first come first serve basis, but once you have one, towels are handed to you, a waiter/chair guy makes sure that you have everything you want.  There is great sun exposure all over, so that is not a worry.  The waiters bring the drinks in plastic cups to you, but be warned, the drinks are strong, and you may want to stand every once in a while to make sure you can.
    The pool itself is spotless, with a waterfall you can stand under, shallow stairs to sit on in the water, enough room to swim a bit if you want.
    I like this place better than the spas in the area, simply because the relation and laziness factors a perfect.  A day here will leave you smiling, a bit dehydrated, and slightly sun burnt.  Exactly what a vacation day should be like.

    A group of my lady friends and I stayed at the Loews Miami Beach for a bachelorette party a few weekends ago. We stayed in the Presidential suite, which has a gym, wrap-around terrace, office, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and a fully stocked library (just in case you want to read Gulliver's Travels while you're downing tequila). The staff at this hotel are amazing. Truly the most friendly hotel staff I've ever met. The waiter at the cabanas by the pool didn't disturb me when I was passed out on the chaiz lounge after a heavy night of drinking. He even asked my friends if I'd had a rough night! Seriously though, if you want to experience the glitz, glam and everything in between that south beach has to offer, do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel.
    Oh, and the hotel is being completely re-done, so rates are really low right now. Get on that while you can.

    We just stayed at Loews for the first time and had a great time.  This hotel is like a resort - beautiful lime stone, fountains, palms, a large turquoise pool area were they serve fantastic drinks from Nautilus and it is right on the beach!  The hotel provides you with towels even for the beach so you don't need to bring your own.  Staying here is really convenient - it is a block away from Lincoln road and many stores and restaurants and even a Walgreens and a CVS are in the walking distance, also you can leave your hotel room in nothing but a bathing suit so no worries about tagging your belonging with you to the beach.  

    They have a spa and several restaurants.  We tried Emeril's and thought it was pretty good. The service staff are very friendly and nice.  We had a fantastic time staying there, granted there was a demonstration ongoing outside of the hotel by the cleaning workers, at first we were a little afraid to walk by them, but then realized that they are peaceful, however noisy, demonstrators so it wasn't really a problem.  

    We would definitely stay here again.

    When I come to South Beach, this is the only place that I stay and although I was there a couple of weeks ago during the rennovation, they still had great service so I have already planned my 30th birthday bash there complete with cabanas! I love the Loews as it is central to all my favorite places in the area whether it's shops, eateries, local hotel bars and more. The rooms are cozy and I love my ocean view.

    As I love laying out, when you're by the pool you have access to water that sits in large containers that include strawberries, cherries and oranges for a fragrant taste. If you forgot or need more tanning oil or Evian mist, they have this too! Of course, they also pass around smoothie, frozen fruit samples, etc as you lay out during the day. You also have easy access to the beach and if you go back to the lobby they have various seasonal juices in the lobby to enjoy.

    At the end of the day, they're about pampering you and making sure that every need is taken care of down to the smallest detail. I love the fact that on my recent trip, we did a girls getaway and they included chocolates and various liqueurs so that we can enjoy our weekend. This is definitely a must and one that is worth saving up for as well.

    It's a plush, upscale place in the heart of the art-deco sSuth Beach area. The physical facilities are outstanding. Public areas are beautiful, both inside and out. The service by staff was superb in every instance. We tried two of the restaurants - Prestons was informal and a good value, with decent food. Our room was large and well appointed. We had a terrific view of the city and ocean from our balcony. But - and this is the reason this hotel does not deserve five stars - it was poorly insulated for sound. We could hear everything in adjacent rooms and the hallways. Others have mentioned the nickel-and-dime approach to "extras: Water for $8.50, parking for $35, internet for $16.95. Classy hotels should not do this, given the high prices they charge.

    Great Hotel, Great Pool, Great Shopping, Great Food, Great Nightlife....I take that back, the BEST Nightlife.

    I'm planning my bachelorette party to be in Miami, just because I had such a great time when work sent me there. Loews did not disappoint.

    We even had dinner at Emeril's which was fabulous, of course...
    Then partied it up at South Beach, which is literally a 5 min. walk down the beach.

    I even went jet skiing for the first time, a few steps away from the hotel's pool. Amazing.... This hotel is awesome!

    I decided to take my toddler and husband down to Miami for the week to get away.  I decided on Loews because it was the only one that had availability.  Also, the price SEEMED right, at $500 a night.  Little did I know I was going to be paying around $700 a night given all the hidden charges.  First, they charge $12 a beach chair per person, another $18 for beach umbrella (so with a family of 3 we're already talking $54 a day).  Then, if you have a child and need a refrigerator and microwave, that's extra charge of $30 each (I've never had a hotel charge me for those).  If you want to shower in decency after your checkout and waiting for your flight, you have to pay $10 to use the spa rather than the public urinal shower they've left for the masses near the pool.
    Breakfast of one coffee and croissant came out to $21 every morning.  
    Finally, the hotel was so inconvenient for anyone traveling with a stroller, as non of the doors were automatic and we had to beg people to hold the door for us.
    I'd rather suffer in blizzard weather than be ripped off like that again.  
    If you're going to charge me $700 per night, then just say that.  Don't pop up costs left and right once we're locked in at your hotel.

    Like my fellow brethren JJ of Good Times says....IT'S DYNO-MITE!!!

    Loews is probably one of the better hotels in South Beach. Just got back from Miami two days ago and I already miss it. The hotel was awesome. Staff was friendly, room was spacious, decor was nothing spectacular, however the food served here was pretty damn good for hotel cuisine.

    Lowes also gets a 5 star rating on location.   The hotel is a block away from Lincoln Street, which houses a number of good restaurants, hookah cafes, and cool bars.  Plus, the hotel is situated right in front of the illustrious South Beach.  

    As for additional amenities, the pool is open 24 hours.  Saturday night's the hotel plays movies pool side on a huge jumbo screen.  The hotel offers massages and has a pretty decent size gym.  You definitely must go.  It's definitely worth it.

    An excellent hotel; great pool, rooms, location and customer service. I stayed there with 5 other ladies for a bachelorette party this past weekend. I reserved two rooms through a third party and it was still off-season, making the cost much lower.  They granted my request for adjoining rooms. We got there early, 11ish a.m., and the rooms weren't ready yet. We had brunch around the corner from the hotel, and before we got our food, we received a call that the first room was ready.  That room was pretty but had only one little window. The adjoining room had a balcony that gave us a partial ocean and city view. We lucked out with the adjoining rooms. With third-party reservations, there are no guarantees.

    The valet, concierge, desk/pool/beach staff were excellent - attentive and friendly.  They really make you feel like you're royalty! Seriously, service was amazing. Although the beach is public, there's a Loews stand where you can pick up free towels; chairs were $15 and umbrellas $18. Worth it if you're on the beach for the whole day. They laid out our towels for us!  And when we asked for some ice to chill our bottle of champagne, they transferred the bottle from our unattractive plastic bag to a cute Loews ice chiller carrier bag.  We missed the early morning cleaning, and when we called to get our rooms cleaned later in the day, house keeping arrived just minutes afterwards.  There's free wi-fi in the rooms, but it's limited to one device; that was fine with us since we only needed occasional use of the computer. Speaking of computers,  I accidentally left my laptop charger behind, and Charlie from security located it and put it in the ail of rme! It should arrive by the end of the week via UPS ground. Now that's great service - providing it even after I've checked out!

    As others mentioned, the pool is 24 hours and there are two outdoor hot tubs. Knocked down half to a full star for the spa, which isn't a part of the hotel; it contains a relaxation room, a nice hot tub, showers, and several steam rooms. Both the spa and the fitness center incur additional charges if used. Another small downside is that there isn't a lock on the bathroom door, and no vents/fans/spray in the bathroom.

    Checking out was a breeze. We weren't charged a resort fee or additional fees for having 3 instead of the guaranteed 2 people in a room; the only charge was the beach paraphernalia. If I return to Miami, I'd love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be comfortable and pampered in a great location of South Beach.

    We had a conference here for our Company and the service and amenities were outstanding.  They were extremely in tune to their patron's needs and the hotel is in a beautiful location, so that helps as well :)

    We ended up at the bar 3 nights in a row after dinner at other places and the Bartenders were great - they remembered all of our drinks when we came back the next night.  Their Caipirinha's were outstanding and their Mojito's were amazing as well.

    The rooms were clean, modern and beautiful.

    This is a great place to relax and have a drink, even if you are not staying at the hotel.  If you're thinking about having a drink by the pool, you may have to reconsider unless you're a quest.  They will ask for your room key to access the pool area.

    Overall, we had a really great stay at Loews.  It was an exceptional hotel for kids, especially for being in Miami Beach. My daughter was just about two at the time and had a blast running around and playing in the pool at midnight (we're on west coast time). The service was more than what I expected, room service was delicious, and the hotel was very convenient to the beach, and Lincoln.

    Our room? It was a good size with a full ocean view.  Waking up to the Atlantic Ocean everyday was breathtaking.  Our room was clean but the overall look was just okay. However, it didn't matter too much, since we we're always out anyways.  The only cons that come to mind is that the walls are either thin or not sound proofed very well.  We could hear everyone talking in the hall and in the room next to us.  Also, it was a great place for kids and is highly recommended for families, but I really wish they had a fridge in the room.  Having an almost two year old at the time and having no way to store milk in the room was difficult.  We ended up running to the store to get her milk twice a day.  I don't know.... maybe if I spoken with a staff member about it, there could have been a better solution, but anyways that's what happened. However, fridge or not, that wouldn't deter us from staying there again.  Thank you for the wonderful stay.

    This is a really lovely hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and when you think of Miami Beach, it's pretty much this hotel.

    It's right off the beach and there is a great running/walking path behind all the hotels off of Collins Avenue - beautiful to walk along in the early morning. Pool is also very nice - I wish I had more time to enjoy that part of it!

    I was here for work and the hospitality was great - all the meals were delicious and the choice of food was great and even healthy! They had these veggie quesadillas that were just phenomenal.  Service is also great - very nice and accommodating.  

    I got room service my first night and had the nicest server ever - if you order hot food, it comes in it's own cart/oven thing! I've never seen that before!

    Rooms are really nice - bathrooms are very modern, lots of seating and I happened to a room with a balcony overlooking Collins Avenue. Good for people watching!

    Location is great too - within walking distance of Lincoln Avenue if you like shopping - but THE BEACH!!! So, so lovely.

    If I win a million dollars, I would totally have my wedding here. Main hall is huge and tastefully decorated. And the BEACH (can you tell I'm from Chicago where we get maybe 6 good beach days)///

    If it wasn't so pricey I'd come back. :/ Until next conference!

    The pool is amazing... It's a heated pool, and open 24 hours a day!!! I went into the Jacuzzi at 3 am and had a very interesting conversation with some "happy" people... The décor is very upscale, with a beach atmosphere.  The hotel has a strict 4 pm check in.  My friend and I got there a little early, and couldn't check in, but they did compensate us by allowing us to lounge around the pool area.  The pool staff is extremely helpful. They set up your lounge chairs and stay near you for any food or beverage request.  

    The rooms are not amazing by any means.  The chic design and minimal décor adds to the cold feeling of the room.  The room had limited storage areas, mainly a closet and 1 side table.  Also, in the room I was in, they had a chair and an ataman shoved in a corner, which would be perfect for kids, but adults, not at all...   The bathroom... Now that is a bathroom... I love the shower décor, water pressure was amazing and the coarse floor tile was a treat for feet.  The bathroom alone screamed luxury...  

    I did not enjoy the front desk associates at all... After coming early, they took our phone number to call us if we could get an early check in.  45 min later, they called and we went to the room, but had to go back down because the associate wrote the wrong number on the card.  Then as we went to the correct room, I noticed my luggage in front of someone else's room... I walked to the room, which I had previously told was ours and told the bellhop that the luggage was mine.  Without hesitation he grabbed the luggage and brought it to my correct room, oh, did I mention he didn't ID me or even ask for my name. Can you imagine if I didn't notice my luggage, someone else could have gone through it and ransacked me? Too make matters worse; we did not have a balcony, which was promised to us.  Then when I went to go check out, I noticed that they had over charged me for the valet service... It was funny; they charged me an extra day of parking, before I even checked in.  

    FYI, check your bill out... and when ordering drinks at the pool, they automatically charge a 18% gratuity...

    The hotel is really comfortable, and the staff is fantastic.  They are so friendly  & really believe in service with a smile.  I stayed here for 3 nights and I was amazed by how well I was treated - you rarely find a hotel with such great service these days.

    The walls are a bit thin, and my neighbor was getting high and I had no trouble smelling it (if the smell is that strong, there really should be a sharing policy).  The doors slam - I guess it's part of their security measures to ensure the door closes...

    Came here after dinner with the wife for drinks a the bar.  AFter walking up and down Ocean Dr during an Art Deco festival we bunkered down here for a few drinks and to watch the Heat game.  The drinks were meh...our server was kinda like a goober head...not too attentive either.  And when we were about to leave, he even forget to give me my cc back...what is he thinking?  LOEWS hotel bar is not all that.

    MY SOUTH BEACH NIGHTMARE !!! FELLOW YELPERS ALERT. STAY AWAY.

    I am currently sitting in my room and trying to write this yelp review as I pay more than $300/night to stay at a hotel actually performing EXTENSIVE AND NOISY renovations WITHIN THE HOTEL ON ONE OF THE HIGHER FLOORS while I am a guest here ! The JACK HAMMERS STARTED AT 6AM today and haven't stopped, the front lobby is blocked and we are all herded to a side entrance since my arrival....

    Yesterday when I tried to visit the pool it was half closed and drained, the other half was partially full, unheated and clearly hadn't had wet towels pulled in many hours. When I spoke to the "Manager" about this - I was told basically, that my booking price was much better then usual,....so I should be satisfied I guess.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOINT AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. It took me THREE DAYS TO GET A LIGHT BULB FOR MY BATHROOM,....and that was what the "Manager" seemed most troubled about when I called her semi-awake at 8:30AM this AM to ask about the JACKHAMMERS AND NOISE.

    Customer service apparently isn't a concern of their's,....and I am a member of their FREQUENT STAY PROGRAM TOO. Imagine what wonderful service awaits those right off the street !? Come to think of it - I'm not sure it could get any worse.

    TRUST ME - STAY AWAY and if you are inclined to stay here - CALL AND VARIFY WHAT CONSTRUCTION WORK AND STATUS IS ONGOING AT THIS DUMP. THEY DIDN"T EVEN THINK SLEDGEHAMMERS ON THE 18th FLOOR AT 6AM WARRANTED A MEMO IN THE ROOM THE NIGHT BEFORE AND I HAVE YET TO RECIEVE AN APOLOGY OR ANY ATTEMPT AT CORRECTIONS FOR THIS HORRIBLE situation.

    RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM HERE. I SURELY WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE...

    I never expected such incredible service at a Loews, that is until I stayed there. One of the greatest aspects that Loews South Beach has to offer is location. It's right at the end of Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road is only a couple blocks away, and other fine hotels with excellent dining options and night atmosphere are all a few minutes walking. Additionally, the hospitality staffing services are the best you can get. The gentlemen that flagged our taxi's were always courteous and timely. I recommend this hotel for crazy singles and families alike looking for a classy and reasonably priced accommodations.

    This was definitely the highlight of my business trip. The accomodations. Loews has a reputation for fine hotels, and the MB location sits on the water front as a plush art-deco hotel with very clean and moderately sized rooms (with couches), a large heated pool and tanning area, beach access, and close proximity to lincoln st and all the SOBE clubs. The upgraded to a great beach view helped but otherwise I would still have been extremely satisfied.

    The worst hotel in South Beach (excluding the Clevander). I'm not just some bitter costumer ranting and raving about non-sense, I'm someone who works hard for my $$$, and when I spend over $2,000 on a hotel stay, I except nothing but the best...

    -The first thing that I have to mention is at the time of my stay, the pool had human feces floating around in it, and was not attended too until hours later that evening:/

    -Secondly, and most importantly, your belongings are not safe at this hotel. We had stored over $750 in our inside the room, and it was stolen. The money was actually placed in the safe, but the safe was only shut and not locked (yes, I know.. how stupid of me, but should I really have to worry about anything of mine being stolen inside my room-NO!!!).
    I ended up having to give a police report, and nothing ever came about from the situation..

    -the next 2 visits to South Beach, I stayed at the Hotel Victor on Ocean Blvd. There is no comparison in hotel... The service, decor & the rooms @ the Victor Hotel blow Loews away..

    -So this year, I decided to give Loews another chance.. I had booked a Grand Ocean Front King Suite at a really nice rate in October of 2009. I called back today (March 12, 2010) just to confirm the reservation, and the low and behold, the Ocean Front King Suite reservation was canceled, and then reinstated as a regular room... WTF???

    THANK GOD I ALSO BOOKED A ROOM @ THE BRAND NEW W HOTEL 4 BLOCKS DOWN.

    I went back to this property this past March just to see if things have changed, and this place is still the same. You might as well stay at the Marriot or Hilton if you're looking for a mediocre hotel.

    The location is ideal! you can walk out of the pool area and onto the beach, and walk a few blocks down collins and you're on lincoln road near all the shopping and restaurants. the staff is extremely friendly - you get a "hello, how are you?" as soon as you get out of the car, into the hotel and on the way to the elevators. the rooms are very clean, spacious and modern.  each room has a small balcony w/ chairs and a small table.

    we ordered room service one night - I ordered the beef short rib wrap and my husband got the fettucine alfredo - I have say, for room service, it was delicious and hot! this was probably one of the best room service meals I've gotten.

    we checked out elemis spa on both days b/c we wanted to use their steam room and jacuzzi. they charge $10 per day to use all the spa amenities and gym. the spa was nice - just a little small.  they could have put ice water and cold washcloths near the steam room but other than that, it was decent. if you want to decompress and detox after a long south beach night, the steam room is the cure all.

    the hotel and grounds were beautiful. you really felt the luxury as soon as you pulled up to the hotel. there is one downside to this beautiful hotel - the walls are thin, but thankfully we didn't have noisy neighbors at night. but then again you won't find too many young party animals at this hotel. great place to stay for couples and families.

    Stayed three nights here.  Beautiful pool and the food is outstanding everywhere.  Very friendly and helpful. They charge you for everything. Don't expect to get. Lounge by pool unless you tip the attendant .   You pay for Internet and beach lounges and umbrellas.  Come prepared  with lots of cash.   Would not go back because I like a good deal.

    I really really wanted to like this hotel.  Lots of people gave it props.  I wasn't disappointed when I arrived.  The property was at the heart of Miami Beach, had a great pool area, and direct access to the beach.  Rooms were great and food was not bad.  What killed it for me was there was a cockroach in my room.  All I got was an apology from housekeeping and a $20 food voucher.

    Stayed here recently for a conference. It was really a great hotel. The lobby was a little smaller than I would have imagined, but that and the $12 house drinks were the only drawbacks.

    The rooms were incredible. Great balcony, huge shower, great bedding, large HD tv... really a comfortable stay.  The doors are thin, though, so if you're a light sleeper I'd bring ear plugs.

    We were in Miami for a mini vacation and Loews was a fabulous place to stay . we were giving a warm greeting from the time we got out the car . the front hotel door was opened  by lovely staff with a smile. check in was very nice and quick. the rooms were clean and spacious bed very comfy. September is a great month to visit no crowds at the pool during this time we basically had it to ourself at night 24 hour pool. we also ate in Preston's resteraunt  which is onsite and the food and service was impeccable our meal was brought out by the chef so nice. we enjoyed our drinks at the bar by the pool. you must try the frozen grapes yummy refreshing.

    I will be back next year Loews

    Incredible is the first word to come to mind. So modern, so clean, sooo mucho! From the moment you get there, you really feel the excitement. The entrance is great that it is off busy, bustling Collins Ave. and Lincoln Road and you wouldn't even know it. The huge lobby is squeaky clean with workers all over all the time cleaning and opening doors for you. Its family friendly as not many hotels on South Beach are. The walk to the pool is like taking a vacation by itself and a hot picture spot. The pool is gorgeous and the workers treat and pamper you, water flavored beverages, chairs and towels are offered. The rooms, a bit small, are spotless and modern. The takeout is from Emeril's downstairs.

    What makes it even better is that, because of its location, you are literally at the center of Collins, Lincoln AND Ocean Drive. Taking a walk out the back going south puts you right on Ocean Drive and from my room on the 17th floor, you could see right down Ocean, see the beach and downtown Miami.

    The only setbacks are that after paying for a room, you still get charged for amenities such as wifi and parking. Oh and no locks on the bathroom door is awkward? Not a biggie. The beach chair nazis are ruthless however, so be careful down there. But you do get what you pay for and in this case, its livin it up all the way!!

    Fantastic hotel. Very clean & modern facilities. I can not say enough good things about the staff.  They were helpful, polite, & hospitable throughout our entire stay.  Everyone went above and beyond.

    Some highlights of the hotel:
    1. 24 hour pool & hot tub
    2. Room service available just about 24 hours
    3. Great pool area
    4. Location is within walking distance of just about everything
    5. The staff!!!

    I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

    I was in Miami Beach for a trade-show at the convention center, and this was the hotel I was assigned via the Housing Bureau.  Very nice hotel staff, clean, and comfortable room with a very nice view of the beach.  Good location near The Art Deco District and many restaurants nearby.  Doorman, David, and Bellman Junior Paul were most helpful.  The gift shop is nicely stocked with everything from aspirin to Men's dress shirts.  They also have a station to print your boarding passes.

    This is one of the few hotels that has the bathroom lighting right so you can put on make-up and not worry if you look like a vampire or a hooker after you leave your room.

    A word to the wise:  All the restaurants in Miami Beach (from low to high end) automatically add an 18% gratuity to your bill.

    From lobby to beach gate, this place is a DREAM.

    The showerhead was my best friend (not like that, but...you know!) and the bed was my home away from home. Even the chair and throw were comfy. I wanted to sleep on the balcony, so I could wake up to a good view of the strip.

    The pool area was nice. The FREE samples were even nicer.

    Very luxe hotel, but still kid- and pet-friendly.

    **If you're there this Summer (until September), be sure to take advantage of the "Summer of Loews" promotion. Lots of little surprises and set ups (pool activities, games, cocktail parties, FREE fresh fruit sorbet!, movie nights, etc.) they have to offer.

    **FREE wi-fi located in Hemisphere Lounge (the bar) and poolside. There's a charge to access wi-fi in your room, so...don't bother!

    Animism (from Latin anima "soul, life") is a philosophical, religious or spiritual idea that souls or spirits exist not only in humans but also in animals, plants, rocks, natural phenomena such as thunder, geographic features such as mountains or rivers, or other entities of the natural environment.

    While I don't think rocks or thunder have souls, I am presented a problem when it comes to bathroom kits. Back in June, during a long-overdue trip to the familial ranch, I inherited my grandfather's traveling toiletries kit, a very nice (if somewhat small) leather number from way back in the day. Since getting it, I've been taking the kit with my on my summer tour. Not only because it's functional, but also because I don't think it's original, grizzled rancher owner got to travel to some of the plush places I occasionally am lucky enough to visit, so I figured I'd try to make it up to him. Via his kit. Hey, it makes sense to ME.

    The rooms here are fine, without being overly awesome. The fact that the hotel gave me a room with two double beds probably influences my room experience. I'm on a special rate, and they DID offer to upgrade me for merely $60 a day more. Even with my special rate, it's still $200/night, and I've been in better rooms for that price.

    What saves the hotel is the unflagging friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The people here will do backflips to get you what you need. And they seem genuinely thrilled to have the opportunity to help you. Given the choice between a great room and okay staff, or an okay room and great staff, I'll take the latter. The room, after all, is just a box. The people make the experience.

    I'm not certain I'll ever be back in Miami Beach (not really my kind of town, on a variety of levels), but if I do come back, I'd come to Loews again.

    Had an amazing time staying here my first time in Miami! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. If you're lucky, you'll even run into stars here! We ran into a couple, who I will not name, when we stayed here. The front of hotel staff, restaurant staff, pool staff all were very kind accommodating and helpful! It get's pretty full here during the peak season since it is off of the beach. They use a special gate from the hotel pool to the beach so randoms and weirdos can't just come in. They have cabanas at the pool. It was sweet too because on the beach we could charge and even tip for our chairs and umbrellas up to our hotel room. Even our jet ski! Very good food at the restaurants, for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

    I recently worked a conference here for four days and was blown away by the impeccable service from the Banquet & Event staff. I'd visited the Loews before as a guest just to enjoy the beach and pool but it was a few years  before they remodeled the guest rooms.

    The previous time, I stayed in the main hotel tower and had a view of the ocean. This time, my room was in the second tower and, though it was tiny, it was tastefully decorated and had a large corner window that made the room seem more spacious with its city AND ocean views.

    The Banquet food was fresh with a good variety and the staff was cordial, helpful, and willing to do anything to keep our program running smoothly and on time.

    The pool was crowded during the day, but that's expected during the summer months in Miami. The important thing is that they kept it clean.  

    Overall, it proved to be a great property to use for recreation and, amazingly, for work.

    The hotel is really nice, and full of friendly people who are always welcoming you or holding the door for you...etc

    The only BLACK spot was the VERY expensive bar in the lobby, where people making really bad face & service welcome you. They don't care of you at all, since what ever happen, they anyway charge you 20% "service" fee on your bill (which is basically the tip).

    Other than this, nice hotel.

    This is one of my biggest disappointments ever!!!!     Service SUCKS!  Big disappointment both for Loews and for South Beach!.  Pool is a total bust if you want a fun environment and good service you need to look else where!  

    This was billed as their "Best" Lowes location. It is my 4th Lowes, by far the worth. Next time in South Beach will definately try somewhere else.

    Really enjoyed our stay here.  Service was excellent.  The rooms were nice and seem updated/modern. We had a "city view" but could still see the beach from the sides.   The vibe is a lively family friendly hotel.  The pool was crowded but not hard to find seats.  There was complimentary water (fruit infused, in fact) by the pool area.  I thought this one was nicer than the one in Santa Monica (which I also did like).  

    A few tips:
    Call ahead for valet since it can get pretty busy and you may wait 15-20 minutes if you don't call ahead.  Also, the pool is open 24 hours so definitely make use of it!  They do not have chairs set up for guests on the beach; if you want to sit at the beach you'll have to pay for a rental from the vendors there.

    Overall, I would definitely return!

    I booked a stay here because the Fountainbleu was too far from where I wanted to be and Loews has an Emeril's in it.

    I will come again because when they found out I was sick they sent me a handwritten get well card and soup the next morning.  I have stayed much longer at other more expensive places but this service went above and beyond!

    Also, the dining experience at Emeril's was great--it carried my fav Cali sparkling wine!! --Although it took 4 different servers to finally open a bottle.  I didn't order a second because I did not want to put them through the trouble again plus I kinda feared for my eye with the way they held the bottle.

    This hotel was one of the best hotels I stayed in Miami and directly on South Beach because it is off of Collins and 16th street.  It felt like the beach was in our backyard.  The hotel had it all, ice cream shop, spa, gym($10 all day access), GREAT POOL that is great for swimming, laying out, napping, drinking, eating, stores, happy hour and even a restaurant.  If you want to shovel out some money, I recommend staying here as you are minutes away from Lincoln Ave and Ocean Drive.  You are in the heart of South Beach.  The rooms were really nice, loved the showers here, and it was just well kept.  We had the beach view, and it was an amazing view.  If you need help with places to visit, the front desk was extremely helpful.  They will even make reservatiosn for you for tours or restaurants.  They will even hold your luggage if you have to check out if your flight doesn't leave until later.  Bars and restaurants are walking distance from the hotel, I will definitely come back and stay here.

    Great views, perfect location, good service, decent food, shitty noise filtration. The walls and doors here are paper thin to a point that is very incongruous with the quality of the rest of the hotel. I could hear guests and hotel service rolling by constantly and one morning I was woken up by what I thought was my boyfriend making coffee in the room, only to discover it was our next door neighbor. I could even hear my neighbor's conversation from her balcony coming through our balcony door. It's a shame.. were it not for this one pretty significant issue, I would recommend this place to anyone.

    *Also as a side note, this doesn't pertain solely to Loews, but if you're not too familiar with going out in/around Miami Beach watch out for the 18% gratuity that is immediately added onto many bills throughout this city. Adding another 15-20% on top of this assumed gratuity as a result of sheer habit/being in a dark noisy bar/having 5 too many drinks, added a not so insignificant weight to an already hefty bill.*

    Completely inappropriate service for a Loews hotel. I stayed in this hotel in 2004 at the same time of year. Back then it was lovely - quiet, not overcrowded, room to sit at the pool and good service. Prices for ordinary items were not exorbitant.

    My fiance and I visited this winter expecting a well run hotel, instead, we got horrible service. A long wait for our room at a pool that was completely overcrowded. A room with two beds instead of one, not facing the water despite my request for at least one of these things. Very long waits for the elevator.

    The pool area is horrible, entirely overcrowded. The worst part is it doesn't have to be overcrowded - they keep a whole section closed off where you can pay $500 for a cabana. This entire part is empty while the rest of the pool deck is packed. Terrible mismanagement of this space with not a thought to their guests comfort.

    It also takes forever to get a drink and food at any of their bars. We waited and waited, and then had to pay the already added in 20% service charge. This may be customary for Miami, but most of the time I wanted to deduct it entirely from the bill.

    The spa is equally horrible. I wish I had found a place to go outside of the hotel. The manicurist was incredibly rude, didn't say one word to me and then laughed when her colleague threw away the full coffee I had just purchased. I was so in shock, I didn't know what to say at the time. Not to mention I've never had a manicure before that caused me physical pain, which this one did.

    Do not go to this hotel!

    This hotel has it all!! It's in a great location right on Collins and 16th street. One block away from Ocean Dr and one block from Lincoln Ave.
    The service is amazing starting from the valet, to front desk service to the Starbucks bus boy. Everyone is real friendly and they go above and beyond for you.
    The hotel is gorgeous with an amazing pool area. I have stayed at the National before and the Loews pool area is awesome, not like the Raleigh awesome but still pretty nice. There is a bit of construction going on at the pool. They are installing new cabanas in the pool area. You can't really hear the construction so it doesn't take from the pool experience.
    I would suggest to everyone to stay at this hotel. The rooms are spacious, modern and if you get a room with a partial ocean view it's totally worth it. I'm a germ freak and this hotel was super clean, no complaints about it.
    Don't forget you're in Miami so the food and drinks are experience where ever you go. Don't blame it on the hotel, or the pool service or even the beach service, this is how it is here.
    BTW there is NO resort fee at this hotel. What ever you use you pay for. An umbrella at the beach is $18.75.
    Overall great hotel, great experience and I would stay here again and again. Please Loews don't ever change your service and cleanliness!!

    Never again. I am so confused as to how this place has more than 3 stars. Their business model is all messed up. We were given a $100 food credit which was great but there were all of these hidden charges. They put fees on all services - so let's say we bought a $50 lunch we had to pay service and tax fees on top of the food. We spent 75 on food and had to pay $30 on top of that.

    Positive:
    * Water (not bottled) was free
    * Bed was super comfortable
    * SOAK - cabana for the day was amazing. Worth the money, you get a huge space, AC, and two chairs on the beach if you want to go back and forth.
    * Sweetish massage was the best I've ever had

    Negative:
    * Crowded - don't think about going to the pool at any point after 9am, you WILL NOT get a seat in the shade or more than 2 seats together
    * SO MANY KIDS & angry old people
    * You pay for EVERYTHING. Most annoying - internet. $50 for 3 days, beach chairs, umbrella
    * Gratuity & a service charge is included in everything - pay attention to this we double tipped a few times.
    * We were charged a minibar fee (we only used to fridge to keep a sandwich cold). - ultimately they removed it, but if we didn't look over the charges they would have gotten away with this charge as well.
    * Had two mani pedi's booked for our last day before our flight out. A nail tech didn't show up and they cancelled on us.
    * Everyone keeps mentioning the frozen grapes & suntan lotion, I didn't see any of these services (or any for free at least) in 4 days.
    * Concierge recommended food spots that weren't open on the day we were looking to go

    I am NOT cheap by any means. BUT they market as luxury and luxury is a very loose term for what they provide.  I am so disappointed by the stay at this hotel, just expected more I guess.

    For as much as a room costs at the Loews, I expect impeccable service, in addition to the luxurious accommodations and beautiful surroundings.

    The location is beautiful and for the ambiance alone it really deserves 4.5 or 5 stars. Unfortunately the service does not.

    We arrived early, around 11AM. After checking our bags in, we were told that the room would be ready in about 1-2 hours, and that we would receive a call letting us know it was ready. After heading to the beach for a about 3 hours, we were expecting our room to be ready or nearly so. Unfortunately, a different person at the front desk told us that they would not in fact have our room ready early. This definitely would not have been a problem if they had not set the expectation that the room would be ready by a certain time. Once we finally got the room key later, we realized that they switched our suite from the floor that it was originally on -- so in all likelihood, or suite that was ready earlier was given away to someone else. Minus 1 star.

    Once we got into the suite, I noticed that the pipe behind the toilet was leaking onto the floor... great. They did have someone come and fix it later that night, but you would hope that they would fix these things before the guest arrives... Minus 1/2 a star.

    Like many other guests, I really enjoyed the pool. There is water available infused with watermelon, oranges, etc. The food is good but exceedingly expensive. For an average lunch by the pool, expect a bill ~ $35/pp -- but don't expect fast service. Our server kept forgetting our order, forgetting to make a change when he made a mistake on the check... Minus 1/2 a star.

    We did the quick checkout process, and upon arriving at home realized that the hotel charged our room for food and drinks we did not purchase -- so make sure you check your bill! When we tried reaching their customer service number to get it straightened out, we received no answer, and no one called back upon leaving a message. Minus 1 star.     Stayed at the Loews Miami for two weeks & fell in love with Miami. I was in the spa tower and had a nice ocean view.  they give you spa robes to walk around in so i wore it everywhere especially the pool and breathtaking private beach on the ocean. it's not cheap --$10/day for fitness room + $9 bottled water etc-- but you get what you pay for. Service was great and attentive, they even brought up a plate of cheeses and a bottle of wine because I had thermostat issues.

    I was in need of a mini vacation and the Loews was a great escape. When I called in for a reservation I was able to use my company's corporate rate and was given an amazing deal for a city view room. When we checked in we were upgraded at no charge to a luxury room that had a full ocean view that was to die for.

    The Loews is a great kid friendly hotel but its not crawling with kids, I saw maybe 5 in the pool and 2 of those were in my party. In Prestons they offer the kids a portable DVD player and headphones so the adults can eat in peace.

    The Loews is a pet friendly hotel and for $25 you can bring your pet and the hotel will give you a welcome package with everything your pet will need to be happy. They have a dog walking area near the pool that has dog toys and everything. I was really impressed.

    Overall my family and I had a wonderful experience. We wanted to eat at Emeril's but they had just closed 3 weeks before we stayed so they need to get a new restaurant asap because the only option is Prestons and a sushi bar.

    I have to mention also that the pool is beautiful! They have containers of ice water with fruits like strawberries, pineapple and oranges and complementary tanning oil. Every hour they bring around frozen grapes or fruit smoothies. Loved it.

    From the moment we arrived everyone was sooo nice (well almost everyone - will get to that later). The staff always was saying hello, welcome, enjoy your day, can we help you, etc...We arrived early - way before check-in - but were able to get our room right away. We got the partial oceanfront view with a balcony which we had requested on the 9th floor. Our first wrinkle in our stay was the girl who checked us in at the front desk. We had a little difficulty understanding her as she was trying to explain using a debit card vs. credit card for incidentals. Ok! we get it! Just let us use our card as we want - which we eventually did. The room was not the biggest we've been in, but it was a good enough size for us. The decor was a bit art deco/Miami style like all that was around us and the view was great. We liked it!

    The pool area fills up pretty quick but we didn't mind. Most days we were on the beach. When you get to the pool a guard makes you show your key (until he gets to know you that is. One guard liked my hubby's Guinness t shirt) This key also lets you in and out of the locked gate to get to the beach or back path area. The pool guys will set you up in the chair of your choice and you can happily stay there forever. Food and drinks can be ordered from your chair (drinks are NOT cheap! 12$) and they have fruit water there for free. You will LOVE the frozen grapes they hand out too. If you rent chairs and umbrella on the beach you can pay direct or charge it to room. Again - NOT cheap - at 15$ per chair and 20$ for umbrella. But we did it for one day and it was bliss!!! Ordered food that day as well. It was our day of beach pampering! (Otherwise you can just take towels from pool area or go hoof it over to CVS or Walgreens for chairs, towels, etc.)

    The hot tubs at night are great for sore bodies from walking all over the place or for a midnight cuddle with your loved one ;) and best thing of all - pool is open 24hrs a day!  We met some strange but nice people in the hot tubs after midnight. There is music playing almost constantly but it didn't bother us at all - some we liked. The bar area inside also had a different live group playing I think every night - nice touch! The area inside and out is just beautiful and the location is perfect for getting to the beach or getting to sights around SOBE. We didn't rent a car and only took a cab a couple of times for when I was not about to go walking far in 5 inch heels! LOL

    The negatives about Lowes? The walls and doors are thin and you will hear people in next rooms sometimes if they get loud and you sure will hear them as they walk up and down the hall. The HD tv was great but a couple of nights the signal just went out on us. The biggest negative is that shower!!! First of all the very nice bathroom has a sliding smoked glass door. Make sure if you want it closed to make sure it closes. The shower while roomy has a cruddy door design. There will be a pool of water on the floor every time you take a shower. The bath rug does not contain it, we had to throw down a towel as well. They need to figure out how to fix that or get bigger bath rugs.

    Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to come back!

    I spent five days and four nights here this Summer and I must say it was wonderful! Sweet, refreshing cocktails, poolside bar.food service, and attentive staff brought out the Princess that is living inside me. :) When I got back home, I sat on my couch and waited for someone to bring me a Sangria and a fresh spritz of Avian water...noone ever came. :( lol

    But I digress, the rooms where nice and VERY well appointed. There were four of us sharing a room and it never had the feeling of being crowded. There were two queen sized beds with very soft mattress and pillows, flat screen tv, a beautiful claw foot tub and spa shower, and a separate water closet, which is great if you are sharing the room with friends.

    The property itself is very well cared for, no litter, discarded towels, etc left around. Each section of chairs around the pool has it's own wait staff, from whom you can order food and drinks; can I say that the food was delish? It was very fresh and well seasoned, albeit it bit pricey, but hey, its South Beach.

    To sum things up,The staff went over and above anticipating our needs, and everyone seemed as though they were very happy to assist. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to visit this property again.

    What a beautiful hotel. Stayed here for a bachlorette party after it came highly recommended by my local friends. Glad we did. The hotel is beautiful and the swimming pools are amazing. Sit by the pool for a couple days with your Miami Heats and it will get you messed up (and perfectly brown tanned!). lol

    Right on the beach so if you're tired of the pool, just walk on over.

    Refreshing drinks daily downstairs in the lobby, which is very pretty.

    The concierge is super nice and can make reservations for wherever you want to go. If you don't know where to go, he can give you all the low-down of all the places that are poppin' to eat and go dancing.

    Beautiful place to stay. Highly recommended.

    We recently had one of our monthly networking events held at this landmark hotel.
    We have nothing but good things to say about this beautiful hotel and its staff!

    The event space, staff, food, and drinks were all excellent and our guests were very pleased.

    This hotel has so much to offer: A great location, a beautiful pool, several great restaurants, wonderful amenities, a lovely staff and so much more.

    Stayed at this hotel fo a conference.  The service is impeccable for an American hotel.  This is the kind of service all hotels should be at. I unfortuntely stay at Hilton, Sheraton or Marriot mostly.  They call you by your name and the attendants are always there to help in every way.

    Anyway, we had several meals catered there.  The food is decent.  I had some Tex-Mex, filet mignon and some fish and breakfast there.  The desserts are really good there though -- out of this world.

    Location is adjacent to the beach and walking distance to South Beach happening places.  Gianni Versace's old house is down the street and has turned into an exclusive hotel, probably on the level of 6 stars and a lot of bucks too.

    The rooms are clean and wel decorated.  The bathrooms are spa like but have not lock on door.  

    I would rate this a high 3 star at lowest and 4 star most likely.  I will reserve a 5 star for better upholstered hotels like Ritz or hotels I have seen in Europe or Asia where the service is really exceptional. Where you basically have your own butler.

    Really, really nice place. We went with our 7 and 11 year old; they loved the pool and the beach just beyond. Had a partial ocean view room (they upgraded us from the city view) which was roomy enough for the four of us. Plus the view from the balcony really is ocean view, not like a tiny sliver far away.

    But the best thing about the hotel is the service; you really do get what you pay for. It is truly impeccable, not just very friendly but actually helpful. Our first day, there was a mixup which turned out to be my fault (embarrassing), yet that night the hotel gave us a bottle of red wine and a cheese tray to "apologize". In a funny sort of way, you can tell a lot about the service of a place with the way they treat you when things aren't working out, and by that measure the Loews scored very highly.

    Location is also quite convenient, with Lincoln Rd. only a block away. Did I mention the beach is just outside? The pool area is quite nice, but we were there a week before Christmas, so I can imagine that getting a spot in a lounge chair might not be as easy in the high season.

    (Look for hotel/car combo deals here, btw, if you are going to need a car; we got a much better deal from Expedia this way than we could find anywhere else, and despite the very high car rental costs in Miami our car was essentially free. Covered city parking just across the street is $16/day, less than half the valet parking and just about as convenient.)

    one word AMAZING! I LOVE the Loews Miami Beach Hotel! This is my 5th stay there and I will continue coming back. The service is exceptional, the hotel is clean and quiet, there's always room at the pool even on the weekends, the beach is is great and did I mention the service it FABULOUS?!! We arrived at 9am on a Saturday and were in our room by 11am. The breakfast at Prestons is always great. Walking distance to Ocean Dr., Lincoln Road, Hispaniola Way which offer an endless variety of places to eat, shop and party! Hands down the BEST hotel in Miami Beach!!!!!

The staff is 5 star for sure , I think this is a great hotel to bring the family .What I didn't  like that as much as you pay for the rooms , the beach chairs weren't comp. Reason  being is because the hotel doesn't charge a resort fee . Over all It's cool and the sushi was soooo good and fresh .

    My life long BFFs were visiting Miami for the first time. It was our big reunion! We looked high and low for a centrally located, nice but not insanely priced, place to rest our weary heads.

    Everyone we encountered on staff at the Loews was so helpful and friendly. There was no snark in sight! The bellhop gave some of the girls a mini tour on the way to the room and armed them with very useful information.

    Our room had a great view of the city. I know people want the ocean view, but the city view was really nice because it faces the sunset! The balcony was a nice touch. Room was clean and normal sized, not south beach boutique sardine tins.

    Not your typical hotel for a group of 20 somethings celebrating a bachelorette, but the perfect choice for us.

    Blackout curtain did just that.

    Optimal Experience.

    Lowes Miami Beach Hotel is textbook luxury, not only it is very comfortable, the service is spot on and the hotel is tastefully decorated but it also has fantastic dining on premises. The pool area is premier and there is great attention to detail.
    But in my humble opinion, one of the best attributes of this hotel in Miami Beach, is the location. Withing walking distance to just about any place worth spending time and money on in SoBe.

    Tip - Don't bother with parking at the hotel, use the municipal parking across the street, and make sure to stock up on water and m munchies in case you feel dehydrated or have the urge to eat something in the wee hours of the morning.

    The Loews Hotel group hails from NYC and as to be expected has a huge New York following.

    Breakdown as follows:

    CROWD:           Mixed,  mish-mash of old and young & tourists, BIG on family vacations
    SERVICE;         GOOD
    DECOR:            GOOD, not great
    LOCATION:      Excellent
    POOL:                Beautiful, too many kids

    You have to know and understand what a hotel's target market is and I can tell you that right now.  Its families, not couples wanting to get away and have romantic time together.

    Loews Miami Beach capitalizes on its prime location to draw people in, however, it is NOT elite and does not have an elite following especially in Miami Beach.

    This is a lovely property with great rooms, balconies, easy ocean/beach access, and a great pool.  Love the activities that they have planned, the friendly staff, and kid friendly environment.  Loved the snow cones each day, as my three year old had a blast picking out her flavor each day.  

    I do think there was a lack of attention to detail:  a request for a new ice bucket when one of ours (we had two rooms) was broken was never followed through with, no shampoo/conditioner/lotion was left on one day (even with a tip being left in the room), we had to call twice for our crib delivery, activities sometimes did not take place or started late, a broken gate to the beach was not fixed after 12 hours of being broken and no sign was posted.  Further, this place is wildly expensive ( a Starbucks latte in the lobby costing 6 dollars!?!?  Really??), and two drinks in the bar costing $38.  These things drove us out of the hotel for food and drink as much as possible.  Family friendly should also include FAIR pricing.  

    However, we enjoyed our visit and will return

    Every time that I've been here The staff has been welcoming, very accommodating and friendly.

    I was blown away by the positive attitude from all staff members and its very rare that you get that kind of service and I didn't get that from a lot of South Beach businesses.

    The first night we stayed in a room that must have had the window open when it rained and our carpet was wet. We called downstairs and they switched our room in the morning to a partial ocean view room with a balcony without any issues. It made our stay more enjoyable and I will definitely be back as a Loews Miami Beach hotel guest.

    Great hotel. Stay here whenever I'm in the area for business. Pet friendly ... surprisingly clean, modern and well-maintained for a pet- friendly hotel. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are furnished in moderm equipment and are large amd roomy. Mice selection of amenities and the piece de resistance is that it is within walking distance of a lot of shops and restaurants.

    Amazing hotel, althought I didn't actually stay! Met up with a group of girls in MIA and one friend was stayin here. The hotel is super chic and the customer service is amazing. We had martini's in the main lobby bar and her room was very nice. I think it's a bit on the pricey side, but def a great place to splurge!

    I stayed at Loews Miami for four nights from Oct 31-Nov 4th.

    Pros:
    Amazing location - super close to the clubs, the beach, and Lincoln Rd
    Nice pool area and free towels for the beach
    Very attentive staff

    Cons:
    Free Wifi in the lobby and pool area only, and the signal was usually pretty bad
    We got a decent deal, but this hotel is pretty expensive

    If I could give this hotel zero stars I would.  I was very dissatisfied with the customer service at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, which ended in the manager of the front desk, Myrtle, in a shouting match with me over the phone.  Never in my life would I think that a manager of a hotel like Loews would be speaking to a hotel guest this way over the phone, led alone yelling at a guest.  There was a problem with my reservation and the way the front office staff handled it from the second they picked up the phone has been just horrible.  Incredibly rude, not friendly, and just an overall ridiculous experience.  My entire office heard the whole conversation and I am embarrassed for this hotel and for their "management."   There are many other hotels in the area that have a wonderful staff that are just as beautiful.

    I'm here for a conference. Handsome and I made our reservations back in July. It's now November. The service here from the staff is exceptional; however, the reason why I rated this only 3 stars is that we were provided with a room that had an adjoining room. Even though the doors were closed, we could hear everything that the "next door neighbors" were saying! It was annoying. We brought our Jam Box by Jawbone to play our music; however, it was not enough to drown out the noise from next door.

    The staff tried their best to try and accommodate us; however, the rooms were limited due to a few conferences at the hotel. Three room changes later, we went back to the room that we had and sucked it up. This definitely was not the fault of the staff; however, they informed me to call them at any time if the noise continued. I was grateful; however, I was worried that I would have to deal with the "neighbors" the next 3 days...

    Thank goodness for the "hotel fairy" - the neighbors left the following day! I am now thoroughly enjoying my time...hope the next person that "moves in" next door is not as loud as the women that were "cackling"  there the other night.

    I must admit. The location of the Loews is quite convenient to Lincoln Road. It is awesome that we can walk over to there and to Espanola Way! I give the location 5 stars and the staff; however, the thinness of the walls makes me knock this down to 3 stars...

    Pros:
    - Valet service impeccable, I had my car returned fully cleaned inside and outside, I don't know if anyone has had this happen but yet it happen to mine.
    - The front desk was extremely helpful and very attentive all the way. It didn't take long to get us into our rooms.
    - Convenient access from the hotel to the beach, literally seconds.
    - The pool is gorgeous and spacious along with the Jacuzzi
    - Indoor and outdoor bars
    - The rooms where well kept, and cleaned. The service from the housekeeping ladies were impeccable.
    - The location you're not far from local bars and clubs.

    Cons:
    - Ordering room service (food) is very expensive. A burger is $20.00, then you have to pay a room service fee of $7.95, plus tax and another fee, so you're looking at $30.00 for a burger.
    - The alcohol is extremely expensive 2 vodka tonics came out to $30.00 (SO BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL)
    - To valet your car, you have to pay $40.00 per night
    - Pool over choloroxed, the people were complaining on skin burns and eye redness.

    Other than that I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to rent a hotel around the beach area. REMEMBER: BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL and OR try not to drink at the hotel.. It is very expensive.

    Car valet, another $38 per night. Drinks by the pool? Don't ask for the prices.

    Bathroom was grubby. Shower head looked like a lab experiment.
    Stains on the carpets in public areas.

    Great service!  Bell man, front desk, and house keeping were outstanding.  Cons:  Concierge got the wrong night for the salsa club she recommended.  And the caprese salad I ordered by the beach was pretty awful.  

    Otherwise, the rooms are modern, clean and large.  Easy beach access to the lovely beach right in front.

    Great Pool!  We were in town for the Eagles game and this was our spot to hang out during the day.  They have a ton of lounge chairs and a bar just off the pool.  We stayed at the Clevelander but I really would have loved to stay at the Lowes.  The grounds of the hotel were immaculate.  

    The drinks are expensive so bring a ton of cash or your card.

    came here for a convention such a beautiful hotel.  The grand ballroom was huge and the party was in full capacity.  There were tables and places for people to sit if they were not dancing on the dance floor.  There is a direct beach access from the Hotel and just a block away from the famous Lincoln road shops and restaurants.  As well as a short 5 minute walk to Ocean drive.

    Gorgeous hotel right off of bustling Collins and Lincoln. Always someone there to open the door for you and welcome you into the heavy blast of air con. Definitely have to brace yourself for that since you're coming in all steamy and yes, moist. Huge and clean lobby with a giant fishtank in front of the hotel's gift shop.

    Rooms are decent, though I did find out that we didn't get a balcony like other conference goers! The decor of the place is very bright and cheery, all oceany blues and greens. The Keep Out light for the maids isn't so intuitive, but it worked out. And they were good about giving us all the towels we wanted. Bathroom door didn't seem to have a lock, but the sliding doors were nice.

    Our room did have a sweet ocean view and that contributed a lot to me not really attending the conference in favor of running off to the beach half-nekkid whenever I could. Middle of the day? yes. Middle of night? Yes. Somehow at 4:30 am, the beach behind the hotel still has bathtub-warm water, even if the waves are a little strong. If you don't like the salt in your eyes, the two hot tubs and pools will also be filled with people until the sun comes up.

    There's complimentary raspberry lemonade in the afternoons, though I did get to see it come from a jug into the icey dispenser. Seeing the sausage being made!

    ...I'd defer to the W, SLS, The Gale, etc.  

    I stayed here Tues-Thurs for a work conference, and it's a very clean, newish, well-serviced hotel with a friendly staff and approachable vibe.  

    The pool is larger than quaint, smaller than an oasis.  Choc full o' families, at least during the week when I stayed (April 2-4th).  And every last seat (possibly 300-400 of them) was full.

    I stopped in the cozy back bar area for a drink on a Friday night in February, and there was live music playing.  Intimate spot for a relaxing cocktail.  

    Not exactly my type of scene for South Beach, but it's not built for me.  The Loews does what it's supposed to for the crowd it serves.

    We left the Clay hotel and were walking down Collins when I stumbled upon this beautiful building and I walked right in to see if they had any vacant rooms and they did! We told them that we don't have a reservation but we would like to book a room, they were able to do that without a problem. Our bags went up to our room within a matter of minutes.

    We opened the door to this beautiful room with a view of the ocean. Not crazy about the decor but it was much much nicer than the other place. The sheets were clean and crisp. I ran out to relax in their pool, which was clean and heated.

    I ordered a drink while at the pool and thought to myself  "good call on leaving that other hotel, Cindy" and got to relax. :) It was a little pricey but you get what you paid for. I don't think I'm asking too much for a clean room.

    Lots of positive and negative things about this hotel.  First off, this was not our hotel of choice, but we ended up here because we were summarily bumped from the Z down the street.  It's a long story and I can't say how that one will end, but for now we'll focus on the hotel.

    Front desk service: Superlative.  Kayla was cordial, prompt and attentive.  She took care of everything and handed us off to Billy. First class treatment.
    They put us on the 12th floor - sadly, not really our cup of tea.  Nonetheless, Billy brought us up there, got us settled and was extremely informative the whole way up.  My grandfather used to do the bellman, concierge thing after he retired to Miami, so this was a familiar slice of Miami!  
    The room was smallish and kind of boxy.  My wife wasn't entirely happy, but we decided not to fight it.  

    On the disappointing side, being on the 12th floor, away from all of the amenities was bothersome.  The pool and jacuzzi's as well as the street life (personally, one of the big reasons that I would ever come to Miami to stay) were too far away (I know, I'm whining about an elevator ride, but like I said, we were supposed to be in a poolside room with a jacuzzi right out the back door - here's my $5 for whining...)

    The balcony was nice as it faced the St. Moritz and one side was the city and the other side was the beach.

    Bottom line, if you are looking for first class accommodations and a central location, this is definitely on the list.  By itself, the hotel definitely earns it's stars.  A little pricey, but what isn't on Miami Beach?

    Nov 19, 2012 - UPDATE -- Ouch, just got a mini bar charge on my credit card for 2 apple juices, both of which we actually bought at the store prior to checking in to the hotel and we believe that they found them in the trash and charged us for them regardless (really, we bought them at the Publix, drank them with our champagne that we bought across the street and then threw away with the wine bottles).  I guess I'm not so phased by this "luxury" hotel trying to rip people off, but more the fact that they charged us $5.00 a piece for our own apple juices and 13% tax!!!!!  I definitely recommend staying far, far away from this place and if you are bold enough to venture in, hold on tightly to your wallet!!

    This was a 4 star review prior to this, but it has just lost two stars!!

    Accidentally came here during Urban Beach weekends so the crowds were a bit nuts, but the hotel staff did their best to ensure a safe and fun stay for all their guests. Security seemed to be increased but I didn't mind. The pool is way too full and congested though, so we spent every day on the beach and rented some chairs and an umbrella (totally worth it). The room was comfortable and the bed was soft. The view from our room was nice and staff was friendly enough. It is very close to Lincoln Road as well as walking distance to the main part of Ocean Drive. Great place if you want to stay a bit away from the crowds but still close enough to walk to all the good restaurants and Miami South Beach life. I would definitely stay here again.

    I am going to try to be as fair as possible with my review and be upfront and say these few things:

    - my husband and I vacationed last in Playa Mujeres, Mexico,  a five star, all inclusive, adult hotel
    - this was a very last minute trip to celebrate our one year anniversary

    pro's

    - Accommodations and very nice and very clean
    - location is awesome
    - pool area is beautiful

    Downsides
    - when people say this hotel is family friendly, that translates to the pool is for KIDS ONLY!!!!
    - when people say they nickel and dime you, that translates to NOTHING IS INCLUDED!!! You will pay for your lounge chair, umbrella, and towel. The only thing FREE is a cup of water!

    All in all, nice hotel if you want to travel with your kids and as an adult have decent accommodations. If you are a single couple, spend a little extra, and check out the Betsy hotel (if not having a pool is ok), The Palms (if you can cope with the construction next door), or maybe the W or Eden Rocks if you have a little more money in your budget.

    Just stayed here last weekend with 3 GF's.  Super-fun.  It was crowded, due to a weekend event being sponsored by Ocean Drive, but the vibe was very fun & cool, and all guests were in a very good mood!  Rooms are extremely spacious, by SoBe standards, and beds super comfy.  There is no nightclub here so you can get good quality sleep.

    They have probably the largest pool in the area (except maybe for Fountainbleu) and many, many lounge chairs.   Shout-out to Benny, the head pool guy.  He greeted us with a smile every day and set us up in our favorite spot.  LOVE HIM!
    You are walking distance to all on Lincoln Road, and the fun nightspots at Delano, Shore Club, SLS, etc.   I've stayed here 4+ times and it's always great.

    Stayed here for a few days this past summer.

    Not going back.

    1) The hotel is just too big. You feel like a number. There are always crowds everywhere. Pool chairs are filled by 10am.  Even at midnight, there were still plenty of people everywhere - even in the pool.
    2) The rooms were fine - but let's not forget, you are paying for it.
    3) Room service was very iffy. Some days they would knock around 8am. Yes, 8am. Other days you needed to call downstairs for them to come clean (around 5pm). I don't like that.  Stick to somewhat of a schedule and go from there.  
    4) I paid around $1200 for four nights, so I think I got a "bargain" for this place, but still at the end, I probably wouldn't go back (when you book their lowest price for a king with a partial view - they will probably put you in a room with no balcony - just be prepared).
    5) Location was good, but there are plenty of hotels within 2-3 blocks of this place.

    It's not like this place is some kind of terrible dive, but for the money you're paying, it's just not worth it.

    I came for a conference and was put at the little connecting hotel, which is fine, but they were doing construction at the time which exacerbated a slow elevator problem.  Bring a book; it's not coming any time soon.

    Everything is expensive.  The bottle of water in your room is $9.

    The pool made me cranky.  Unless you get there early and camp out all day, forget about getting a chair in the sun (I was there in February and the shadow of the hotel starts encroaching on the pool rather early).   Obviously, if you're there for meetings, you don't have all day to hang out, so this is very inconvenient when you're trying to squeeze in some fun and relaxation.  

    Oh, and the Loew's loyalty program is useless unless you're a road warrior frequenting the cities that have Loew's and you have absolutely no one overseeing your expense report or office budget.  In which case, you'd better be staying someplace nicer.

    We recently stayed at the hotel for the 50 birthday of my wife. I made the reservation early and asked for early check in which they honored. Everything about the hotel and the service was exceptional. The room had a great view and the pool and beach area was very nice. We ordered food and drinks at the hotel and the service and food quality was excellent. The mixed drinks were mixed strong which is how we like them. The one star really needs to be given for the valet parking. The first time we asked the for the car, I noticed that the radio was set on hip hop and bass had been adjusted. I got really mad, but never said anything because of fear of retaliation from one of the valets. When we returned I forgot my glasses so had to go back down and ask for my car to be brought up again to get them. This time a different valet and the radio was blasting some sort of hip hop again. I took my glasses and walked away in disgust. The valet chased me and asked where his tip was and I responded that once the radio was set back on the station i had left it I would give him a tip. He asked me which preset it was. The next day the car came up and the radio had not been touched. On the final day when I checked out I asked to see the Valet Boss to complain or at least let him know. Instead of saying he was sorry he told me that i must have been mistaken and that it never happened. Except for the valet, I loved that Hotel.

    Solid hotel, definitely not five star, but also definitely a great destination for families with children as they have plenty of activities geared toward keeping the kids busy and the parents relaxed.  Did not eat in any of the restaurants, the drinks are pricey, actually everybing is pricey, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for and we definitely feel we got our money's worth from this hotel.  

    Very nice amenities, they could d have done a little better job with some details, there were definitely some misses (asked for a new ice bucket, never received, ask med for extra toilettes and towels, had to ask twice.  Crib was a no show until I called again.  Ah, but the room, it was great (ocean view balcony) and we will not only be returning to th hotel, but because of our experience at th hotel, will be visiting South beach again either this winter or next spring.

    Loews Hotel made a good initial impression on me - The partial ocean view in my room, the access to the beach, and friendly service.  The turnkey was that on my second day in the room I started noticing little bugs/ants on my desk. At first I thought it was just a one off chance. The last night of my stay, there were swarms of ants on my desk and my bathroom counter. I probably killed 20 of them.When I checked out I told the front desk and they said they'll look into that . They didn't even do anything to compensate me for the inconvenience.

    Overall, I may be willing to try to this place out again SANS ants.

    Only stayed one night for business meeting next day. 4 stars for cleanliness the room was very nice. But shower in bathroom needs to be renovated and one light in the bathroom did not work. Very surprised in All of the this because I expect this hotel to be making all this extra money from the HIDDEN FEES they throw at you Plus for $400 a night stay in hotel. Overall nice and helpful staff

    World class service, pool amenities, and great restaurants in the area this is what the loews miami beach hotel has to offer. The service in the lobby is fantastic, after that it kind of declines slightly. The hotel is right on the beach and has a big pool that you can see from your room. The reason this isn't 5 stars is due to the lack of a premier restaurant inside the hotel. Lets just say that Preston's isn't a premier restaurant because its not. 4 stars. If they added premier steakhouse or so on the second floor it has very good potential to be a 5 star hotel. Must add something else to the hotel to become a 5 star.

    * Partial Ocean View Room - my visit was completely complimentary through work so I cannot complain. But, for the price that is spent on this room, you should upgrade with a balcony facing the Ocean - that would have been very relaxing! Our view was nice - but no balcony.
    * Room had an odd smell - like animal smell and it was over-bearing. When I called the front desk, a housekeeping supervisor reached our room immediately and sprayed it with "magic". The magic lasted about 1.5 days and somehow, sometime, it was sprayed again. As if they were on it and had the person follow-up while we weren't there. Nice.
    * Pool is beautiful! Hot tub is great, nice & hot. You can order food right from your sun chair. They do not charge for the sun chairs. We stayed Nov 2-6 so it was not super busy like I imagine the "on season" is however we had none of the issues people had with chairs. I mean you're on vacation - get there early, snag your chair and relax. The sun is way too hot in the afternoon anyway - you can get your sun on around 8:30-9:00am and get a decent chair to relax in for a couple of hours. Pool is 24 hours. They do have "towel hops" who will find you a chair, roll up a towel, etc - but we declined this service. We did not order food from the hotel once... too pricey for me.
    * The dinners that the resort catered for us, along with the entertainment was excellent! Great food, awesome entertainment! We had a work event here with over 200 people and they did beautifully! The servers are all very courteous and receptive. Open bar was incredible - top shelf, top service, excellent. Dinner was very tasty - all gourmet. Same with the dessert bar.
    *How to Eat Cheap - walk, about 2 seconds off the property. Seriously, why do people complain? Do you expect a resort to have fast food prices? Heck no. Literally, if your back is to the Valet area, go right and you will see La Provence. I can tell you 90% of the service we received in the nearby places was great. Some wasn't so hot - good luck getting anyone to speak English period - you will find a lot of diversity and at the very least, brush up on your Spanish. Somehow the French cashier thought I said "2 iced coffee" when I said "2 iced waters" (which no one wants to give you for free - you have to ask for tap water or they charge you $3+ for a bottle of water), and anyway when I went to fix the order the La Provence cashier was like 'you said 2 iced coffees' and was nasty - you will find a lot of that in quick service places.
    * Do not go to Liquor Lounge. I'm not wasting much time on this except to tell you there are PLENTY of eat and drink places on Ocean Ave and in the outdoor mall in Lincoln - this place is a hole in the wall, waitress barely spoke English (she didn't speak Spanish either) and was ridiculously stupid. Very slow and we went on a Friday night and it was DEAD. There were 2 people there. This should have said it all but we were tired from walking all day. Don't make the same mistake...it SUCKS!
    Anyway - lots of entertainment, drinking, shopping all within walking distance. No need to complain about resort prices, you are staying in a RESORT.
    We did drink at the resort bar one night and they had a good band. A couple drinks and munchies that they bring out for you was about $66.
    *Everywhere adds in tip - don't complain about it. But it happens. You can get it removed if you feel service was less than perfect. We figured they did it because of cheap tourists and the fact that once they know tip is in there, not much you can do so they treat you badly - however we didn't have any bad sit down service except that ridiculous Liquor Lounge. What a joke!
    *Check in/out - very easy. The staff is more than willing to help. We declined the bellhops service because it's not something I usually tip for and I'm not lazy or above bringing my own luggage anywhere. They would have been more than happy to help.
    *Bathrooms in resort very clean, nice and private.
    *By the pool daily, you could get snacks that the staff would bring around, free natural juice and water stands everywhere, plus they were delivering these smoothie samples the day we checked in - so yummy! Free suntan lotion stands.
    *I did not open an account to charge to the room simply because after this trip I leave again out of the country and didn't want to deal with a hold on my card. So, with my room account being closed I was unable to even open the mini-bar to see what's in there however the room came with a Keurig Machine - complimentary and was restocked everyday for us. My room bill was $0. I am a smart traveler :-)
    *TV good - but we only turned it on twice - because we are on vacation :) But it worked. Etc.
    *Internet was complimentary for me because I only used one device.  I'm on vacation, I couldn't care less about Wifi in the room..
    You're close to so much out there. Enjoy it. Use the resort for the pool and sun but venture out and see what Miami has to offer.

    Where do I begin?......This hotel is amazing.  From the housekeeping to the concierge, this hotel staff was wonderful.  There is beach side service on the private beach, beautiful grounds, spectacular views,  five star spa services, delicious room service from Prestons, awesome hotel rooms, the free Fiat test drive for three hours, and professional staff.  This will always be my place of stay in South beach.  You definitely get what you pay for.  You will not be disappointed in your stay!  Great for singles or families.  Loews will now be the hotel of choice in any city.  Your view will be forever changed when vacationing here.  Oh and the location is phenomenal for all activities in South beach.

    This is a good hotel. It's fancy when you walk in, but the rooms are plane and somewhat boring. If we didn't have a balcony, I would not recommend staying here. The pool is amazing, and the beach access is nice, but ritz is better. Very pricy hotel for what it is. Location is pretty good, and we enjoyed our stay.     I stayed here for four nights during a "mini-vacation" to get someplace warm. The hotel is very nice, well-maintained, and clean. It's quite large relative to other hotels nearby and tends to have more kids than I'd otherwise choose to have around (given I wasn't traveling with children). The location is excellent- very easy to walk everywhere. The pool is nice but there isn't enough poolside seating relative to the number of guests which means you have to get out there early to get a seat. The pool staff are extremely polite and helpful. The food and cocktails were all very good BUT the prices reached ridiculous levels- especially given the tax and included gratuity. $28 for a buffalo chicken wrap and diet coke by the pool is a bit steep. The room was nice but nothing fancy- extremely comfortable bed and good service. It's an expensive place so you just need to know what you're getting into and then not think too much about it. Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay but would probably choose a smaller hotel nearby when I return.

    Second time staying at the Loews and I'd say -- for the second time -- its overall strong, but a bit of a mixed bag.  If you are ready for some downsides, the upsides are great.  It really depends what you are looking for.   So here are the high/lowlights:

    Pros:
    1) Great location on South Beach, walkable to key areas and lots of fun people-watching. If location is your thing, this is a good find.
    2) Staff is super .  I don't know how they do it given the scale, but the people are really friendly and helpful.  Big kudos to nick the bellman/host, who greeted us and was really great.  All the people -- greeting, valets,etc. are just wonderful.
    3) Quality is overall strong. Our room was immaculate, well maintained, well-managed, etc.   Food at the pool and restaurant was very good.
    4) Kid-friendly.  They have a kids camp and the staff is great to kids.  If you don't like kids and want to be at the pool all day, you might consider this.

    Cons: Ok, here are the downsides
    1) Its a big, corporate style hotel.  We were there when hotel was at capacity and it was a bit of a zoo (again, not sure how the staff managed the crowds with a smile, but they did).  I was a bit taken this time with the rush for pool chairs and the overall crowds at the pool, which I was not very happy with.  We had a few of the usual south beach complaints about noise, but our friend said she was up a lot at night with partiers walking down the hallway.  Next time, I may choose someplace quieter.

    2) Some hiccups related to the size.  When we arrived for our stay at 4:15, our room was not ready (for a 4pm check-in).  It was not ready until 5:30!  This when we were paying a hefty premium for a suite.  I stay in hotels a lot, and a 5:30 check in is pretty much unacceptable.  The staff did give me a $100 credit, but come on - rule #1 of hotel management would be to be ready for your paying guests.

    3) The prices add up.  I already know that you're going to pay a premium for this location on SoBe, so I'll take the small rooms as a given.  But while the hotel deserves a lot of credit for (finally) adding wi-fi, the pool food prices, extras, etc. are still a bit ridiculous.  4 drinks at the pool came to $89.  A lunch at the pool (burgers) for 2 people was $63.   Its not much compared to the room costs, but a bit silly.

    Ok, that's my take.  I like the loews location and loved the staff most of all -- but after two visits might opt for something a bit less crowded.  If you are staying there, ask for a room high up, and down on the end of the hall -- not just for the views but because your room will be quieter.

    A beautiful Beach front hotel in Sobe on Collins and 17th ave. The staff here is super friendly and the hotel has very nice  amenities from the clean and beautiful rooms, large pool, spa, gym,restaurants and surprisingly, courtesy Fiats to 'test drive' for up to 3 hrs!! Conference rooms are huge. They also have shower facilities with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The boardwalk is fantastic and only a 10 minute walk to the start of Ocean Drive. Probably the nicest hotel in this area and convenient to walk to Lincoln street. They serve great food here too and have a coffee bar called Aroma that serves a great selection of casual lunches, including gluten free items.

    I've stayed here before the visit, but some friends and I wanted to have a short weekend getaway, and decided to say at this gorgeous property.

    My opinion is you an rarely ever go wrong with a Loew's property. This one sits right on the beach, and has a great, lush pool area. Wonderful service, although the valet rates are absurd and it often takes awhile for the car to be retrieved.

    Overall I strongly endorse this Loew's property and would gladly stay here again on future visits!

    My husband and I stayed at the Loews for one night on our anniversary day. It was a wonderful mini-vacation!

    The hotel was great, the service was fantastic and the location beautiful. We got to enjoy the pool for a little while, and loved it. They pass out cold towels, provide fresh fruit water, and tanning oil, in addition to towels for the beach and pool. The room was very nice, we had a great view of both the ocean and the city.

    I think the Loews is in a great location because it is just a block away from Lincoln Road! Close to countless restaurants and activities. So, if you are a tourist and want to stay in a place where you can access many places, I would recommend the Loews.

    I came here with one of my girl friends last July and it was such a beautiful hotel! Very classy! The hotel is basically on the beach!     We arrived on July 4th for an overnight stay hoping to enjoy some pool and beach time before our next day departure.  Being frequenters of high end hotels our expectations were high in regards to service.    Checking in was fine and our room was nice with a great view of the Atlantic. When it came time to head down to the beach we dealt with the staff in charge of chair and umbrella rentals and thats where our experience began to go downhill. The staff who handles these rentals were nothing more than a bunch of unprofessional and seemingly unsupervised frat boys caring more about joking and flirting than providing service. The only redeeming moment came when we returned to the pool area and where helped by Ahmed, a man who made sure we were taken care of and treated as guests should be. Maybe the Loews should put him in charge of the beach area as it desperately needs help.

    This place is quintessentially Miami Beach.  In front, black limos jockey for position.  The lobby bustles in two parts - a registration area, then through pillars to the pearl necklace of amenities.  A pastel, ice cream shop.  A sushi bar.  Starbucks working from a center island.  A restaurant.  Outside, the walls are lined with welcoming, deep cushioned furniture that's bussed in quick yet unobtrusive fashion.  There is patio dining overlooking the pool.

    I ordered a cafe cubano.  It was served "sweet" in a tiny cup.  You have to suck up the ambiance and savor the drink that is a fraction of Loew's cost elsewhere.  $7  - yikes.  But all part of the experience.

    At the pool, Nautilus restaurant serves a myriad of luncheon choices.  We opted for the blackened fish tacos.  They came in a rack, and were delicious.

    Past the gated pool and security, the sands of the beach stretch forever.  Bright blue and white umbrellas are available to hotel guests.  I was amused to see a sand fort dug in the sand and stocked with buckets and toys by Loew's for their guests'  little kids.

    I booked the hotel a month in advance via hotels.com and used the pay at hotel option. The pay at hotel option does not inform you that they will charge your card a one night deposit now whoevers fault that was at the time I don't care at this point I'm over that. I had to speak with the hotel and hotels.com . It was ridiculous and left a bad taste in my mouth but before we got to miami we have been in key west for a week and a half and was completely relaxed for our over night stay and had gotten over our booking problems. We arrived early at check in and had been told out room wasn't ready so we had about two hours to kill. Now as we are sitting in the lobby we instinctively checked the card we used at check in and saw the 220 dollar security deposit and then checked our other cards to see how much we have spent thus far and found a 220 dollar hold on our discover card that we had used to originally book the room. So I went to to front desk to let them know and spoke with Winnie from New Jersey and she was very unconcerned and un-empathetic. This was clearly your mistake and she took no ownership what so ever and said she would go into the back to fix it, I checked again about 40 minutes later with my credit card company and no one had called. Keep in the mind the hotel lobby wasn't busy and it was empty so she had ample time to take care of the issue. So I went up to the desk and she said she was working on it, I told her I didn't want to wait and wanted I make sure it was corrected. So she went in the back and with a huff and puff came out and told me it was fixed. I went back to where I was waiting  for my room and checked my account again, now I know if you call discover with the merchant they release travel related holds immediately and to my surprise I don't see it released but see it charged again for another 220 dollars. So now furious at this point I went over to the desk and the Winnie fought with me for a few minutes telling me she did it and did it correctly until I literally showed her my phone! Finally she went into the back and about 10 minutes later a manager emerged who thus fixed the problem after about 35 minutes. It was absurd it happened in the first place and they
    Looked at me like it was my fault and my problem. While dealing with this issue about three or four other people had asked for managers so I know I wasn't the only one to have issues. Now the final thing that really killed the experience that I have come to expect at loews hotels was I had gotten a call around 9 from my mother. She has stage four breast and bone cancer for about the past four years and isn't doing well. She asked if we could come home she had an emergency, my heart breaking I say yes. We pack up and I go to check out and I wish I got the name of the girl that checked us out. She asked why we were leaving and I said a serious family emergency and I have to be home by tomorrow morning for a serious unexpected family surgery. She goes oh, 400 dollars for only a couple hours. Now I didn't expect a refund but the comment was uneccasary and completely unprofessional. You are in the business of customer service and you show no care for addressing customer issues or helping your customers feel more then a number. The common disregard for empathy and genuine care toward any customer whether they spent 100 or 10000 dollars should be the same. I felt I was a problem from day one and did not feel valued in any respect. Where did your customer service and will to assist go? I work in credit cards and understand problems slip through the cracks but customer service never should.

    Not what I've come to expect from the Loews brand. We have religiously stayed at Loews Santa Monica for the past 10 years and we love it. We were expecting the same phenomenal service from one of their properties.
    First the good. The location of this property can't be beat. It's close to shopping and dining on Lincoln and super close to Esplanade Way a cute little street with great restaurants. Loews also has a beach behind the property that is beautiful. There is a great little ice cream store on site that is fantastic too.
    Now The bad. The service is marginal at best. I had trouble finding even one person that was happy to help while I was there. One night my husband and I were heading back to the room after spending some time in the hotel bar. We stopped at the front desk to request a late checkout. There was a basket full of small $1 type toys sitting out for guests with kids (because Loews usually loves kids). I ask if we could take two for our kids. She sort of looks at me like...I guess...if you must. As soon as I make my selection she quickly takes the basket away from me and puts it behind the desk as if I might end up dumping the basket into my small wristlet and make a run for it.
    Upon checking in I said if possible Id love a corner room if you have any availability she ignores my question and sternly tells me, you have a nice room.
    The staff from Santa Monica should spend some time in Miami schooling them on how customers should be treated. Even if you can't accommodate a request there is a polite way to respond to a guest. After leaving the Loews we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for a few days where my faith of customer service was restored. They were falling over themselves to be polite. It's really not that hard to do. Everyone could put a smile on their face, it's too bad the Loews in Miami hasn't figured this out. We are Loews loyalty members too for Pete's sake.

    I was staying at highly expensive Loews Miami Beach Hotel as a corporate guest paying a premium rate. During my stay, I was denied access to the pool area after 11.00pm despite the fact that I was told at the reception that this area is open 24x7. The member of staff denying access to the facility was Andrew Altemann, who claimed to have been working in the capacity of a front office supervisor.

    The way in which Andrew Altemann handled our conversation was considered unprofessional and exceptionally harsh. He repetitively referenced to an unknown access restriction policy which he was unable to explain or show to me. He even threatened me with two security guards he brought with him. That was a funny thing, though.

    In summary, the above member of staff at Loews Miami Beach Hotel demonstrated specific elements of behavior which were considered as unacceptable and disgraceful for a person of professional standing, most importantly for an individual with customer-facing role and customer-focused responsibilities.

    I contacted their senior management team and also wrote a letter to their CEO. I never received a response. I will never return back to Loews Miami Beach Hotel even if they offer a free stay.

    My family and I have stayed in many hotels in South Beach.  The Loews is by far our favorite.  We don't stay anywhere else now.  The service is always top notch. Very family & pet friendly.  The Soak cabanas are amazing.  During our last stay, Molly from VIP services was very helpful and attentive.  It was a great experience and we'll keep going back.

    I ate at the restaurant Saturday night. Brothers of Others was playing great music. Stephan Carter was my server. He went above and beyond for me. I am a vegan and he discussed with the chef what my options were. Ratatouille was the decision I made and it was delicious. The flavors were on point. The portion was great and I even took it home and had it for a snack the next day. He made sure that the beer I chose was something that I would like and provided great knowledge on beer. He was very pleasant. My friend did not enjoy her burger and they immediately remedied the situation. I cannot say enough how enjoyable my time was. Thank you to everyone that was part of my evening. It was great.

    To start I would like to give 2.5 stars.  The customer service is fantastic.  The lobby area and the pool area are great. The rooms...are so so.  For the price I would expect a little better.  If I was paying the bill (this was a work trip) I would have been more disappointed.  The food is not very good and the pricing for the food is outrageous. I ate at the hotel once and then left every night to somewhere else.  I stopped at the pool side bar for some beverages...I had two bourbons with sprite in a small plastic cup (maybe 10 oz) and the price was $30.96. For that price I can buy a 5th of Jim Beam and a 2 liter of sprite and have money left over.  Needless to say, that was the last time I went to the bar. I can expect a little higher charge but that is pretty silly. I cant say anywhere in south beach is better but I will not stay at this place again...even if it is on work's dime.

    This hotel is in the heart of miami. I barley had to take cabs. They were really caring and took care of everything we needed. The spa wasnt to die for but i did have a great massage. The beach was beautiful like always i recommend this place to anyone coming to miami

    I'm definitely not a fancy gal but I definitely can convert and get use to that type of living!

    I spent a lot of time poolside with a drink in my hand, tanning until it was too hot to stand it and dipped into the pool. Throughout the day employees would come around with frozen grapes, and frozen fruit drinks. I even think there were free Snow Cones as well! The pool has kids so if you're not a kid person go to the back grassy area, I didn't see many there. Plus the kids are in the pool, having fun they won't bother you.

    The beach was beautiful; the water temperature was like bath water. I am from VA and NY so... I'm not really accustomed to water that warm, so it kinda freaked me out. I wanted that little bit of cold chill when I first stepped in. The sand is a little grainer than what I'm used to. You have to pay for the beach chairs but if you're going into the water, what do you need a chair for?

    Thursday Night we decided to get drinks downstairs at the bar, there is was a cool jazz band playing, it was a little loud so we went outside to drink on the veranda. Very nice area to talk and still hear the music.

    Last Day: I hit up the spa because we had to check out and I didn't fly out until 8pm. Facials were all booked so I just asked to use the showers. For $10 you can use the showers and the locker rooms and there's a jacuzzi. I really love the shampoo and conditioner they have, it's not cheap and has these cute bottles.

    The area around the hotel is busy, it think it's in the middle of South Beach. For more affordable eats, head to Washington Street and you can get amazing authentic Miami and Hispanic food!!

    Overall accommodations were great, the staff were all very nice, we were always greeted with a smile.

    DO NOT STAY HERE!  HIDDEN CHARGES EVERYWHERE.
    I booked a room here for a conference.  I had been here before, and the location is nice,  but it's surrounded by other hotels equally we'll located.  First, I was told, due to their high volume, my room wasn't available yet,  but they were going to check me in and charge my card $150 a day for incidentals.  I'm here for 3 days and don't want my card blocked for $450 for a mini bar.
    Then I went to the breakfast Buffett.  After a couple of bites, the server dropped off my check and told me a mandatory 20% was added as gratuity. I was a party of 1, and it was a buffet.  He brought water.
    I was a server for many years, even after college, and I have NEVER heard of such a practice, unless it was a large party, and even then, not on a buffet.  I was told that it's a tourist area and  Europeans and South Americans don't understand the tipping system.  I've traveled to countries that include tip, and it's not 20%.
    They did give me a key for the pool and beach area. I'm sure they'll charge me for towel service.
    1 hour here and $500 charges with no room.  In fact, they never told me the price of the room, and parking is another huge charge.  Do not stay here. Their systems are meant to take advantage of you, versus serve you.

    I would pick no stars if that was an option. Stayed at the hotel for one night and glad it was only one night. There was a used condemn under my bed which means this room was not properly cleaned. I was so appalled that I complained to management and headed to my sisters place at 6 am. (Even though check out is 12). I never felt so disgusting The manager Guillermo and ceaser were the two managers that I spoke to over the phone. Not one person could come speak to me in person. Guillermo called me on my cell 4 hours later to tell me housekeeping couldn't find it. REALLY? I'm sure I didn't spend 700 bucks to sleep with a used condemn under my head and the fact that he indirectly called me a lier? I'm sure since I left instead of staying to "show" them clearly shows they didn't see it upon cleaning prior to me checking into my room and when they saw it they said shit get rid  of that thing and act like it was never there. Disgusting.   Stay at your own risk. Maybe the sheets were never changed either

    over priced and they charge you for EVERYTHING (including fitness center $15 per day per person). NOT WORTH IT!!
    The rooms are extremely small.
    There are no VENTS in the bathroom, so if you are sharing: major issues with smell.
    we were told there are no vents in any of the rooms at Loews, but we can try using the general vent setting.  Internet unto 3 devices.  Lots of children.

    We moved to the Ritz the 3rd night. Although the price was slightly cheaper at the ritz,
    the rooms were LARGER! FREE internet up to 5 devices. Amazing breakfast buffet: unlimited fruits, freshly squeezed juices, friendlier staff. I would recommend testing Ritz Carleton.

    My husband and I stayed here between Aug 26-Aug 31 to celebrate my birthday.  

    We arrived at the hotel around 7am and they were able to check us in right away.  LOVED THAT.

    We booked the Grand Room (12th floor) which has a direct ocean view from our balcony. PRICELESS.  Nothing like waking up to such a spectacular view.

    Room was clean and nice.   You get 2 complimentary bottles of water, coffee  and green tea (Keurig K Cups) , and nuts.  

    I especially love their robes.  The inner lining was made of very plush material which felt great against my sunburned skin. There was one night when I couldn't sleep well coz my sunburn was really bad and would sting when it rubbed on the sheets.  So  I actually had to lay the open robe down on the bed and lie on it.  Slept like a baby! *just a tip

    The staff was great.  They were all very nice and courteous. :)

    The pool area can get crowded and with lots of rambunctious kids.  Good thing we were there for the beach so we didn't spend time by the pool at all.  Though we had to pass that area every time we go to the beach.  We get our free fruit infused water and borrow beach towels there.

    You can rent their umbrellas ($15) and beach chairs ($12 each) by the beach.  But we opted to just lay our sarongs on the beach.

    The other thing I love about this hotel is that it's near everything!  There's a walgreens around the corner, and walking distance to the must-see places like Lincoln Rd., Ocean Drive, Espanola way, etc.  No need to rent a car or ride a cab.  

    We will surely stay here again when we return to Miami. :)

    Outstanding location, but $654 for a one-night stay...c'mon, really? I attended a conference here, so just went with it. Next year, I'll look for another hotel close by, save $200 (at least!), and have an equally good room.Even NYC hotels don't charge these rates. Oh, and note to the guy at the front desk...don't tell your guests that you've upgraded their room, then send them to the smallest room they've ever seen. That's not very nice of you.

    It's a great hotel with a good location but it can be a wallet bruiser of an experience to stay here or even just to visit for an hour; starting with $29 just to park for an hour. Then, on top of that all sorts of taxes (totaling around 13%), additions (20% bar gratuity) and other seemingly excessive charges.

    It's also a big hotel, lots of tourists, lots of confusion and difficult desk lines to navigate. However, the staff is superlative in every respect and in any area of the hotel you can generally expect and receive nothing but the best in service.

    The rooms are luxurious with decent views, but if you are staying to take advantage of the pools, beach or other amenities, you may want to plan your room location according to convenience. They could also use some more sound proofing because, if you neighbor is having an in their room his/her cocktail gathering, you're going to hear every word of what they say. That can really get to be the pits, especially when it's people you don't know, never met in your life, but you distinctly hear one of them suddenly mentioning you by name! Ugh!

    I've stayed here on several occasions and would stay here again if I were attending or lecturing at a conference as they have always flawlessly attended to every detail necessary for its set up. On the other hand, just to stay here for a vacation or a holiday, it's just too big and too hectic for me, admittedly a personal preference, as I would be inclined to opt for something smaller, easier to get around in with a somewhat more personal touch about it.

    For doing a convention, a ball or a banquet it's tough to beat, but for a simple stay, considering the expense and general congestion of the place, I can't really say I'm much of a fan.

    This is by far the best hotel that I've stayed at on Miami beach. I'll definitely be returning. The staff is very friendly. I stayed in the 'lure' tower. The hotel is a little pricey, but it's well worth it. The room is small, but its clean. The room comes with a mini bar which they leave locked unless you leave your credit card account open for charges. I wouldn't recommend using the mini bar though. One bottle of fiji water is $8. So it might be cheaper to buy refreshments else where. The hotel has valet parking which is $40 per day. The hotel is right on the beach. It's gorgeous.

    How can you really complain about a hotel your work is paying for...yup you can't. That said I'm not sure what I could take points down for...great location South Beach just off the beach, clean rooms, soft beds, lots of power outlets (I find that a common issue in hotels), very nice staff, beautiful pool, good shower pressure, tons of places to eat with in walking distance from the hotel. Not sure what else you need!  

    Then add to that 80 degree weather in February...come on now.

    Ate breakfast at Preston's in the hotel. The food is solid.  Had a Cuban Benedict - on a biscuit with chorizo, poached egg & sauce.     The potatoes that came with it were delicious!  They were crispy seasoned thick cut fries!  It was what I'd expect from a 5-star hotel.

    The best part is don't even know the rates...I'd imagine it's also what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel!

    This review is based on the fact that I am a 32 yr married female with no kids and am a local.
    If you are an adult that likes to drink and be on the beach and let your kids run around without really watching them, then this place is for you.
    It was packed, I mean packed with families.  But great location, they now have Exhale spa with Core fusion classes and I heard good things about the restaurant Lure.  Pool drinks are pricey but thats normal.

    Came with family (two kids, two adults) for a night on the Beach.  Great view from our room.  While the hotel is extremely well located - near Lincoln Road, the beach, shops and clubs - I wouldn't stay here again.  This is clearly a second (or third) tier hotel, with problems and issues galore. Management is asleep at the switch, and it's sad to see.  When the front desk "trainee" gave us our keys, the bellman had to stop her: she had given us keys to someone else's room!  We would have walked in on another family, had the bellman not just taken another couple to that same room!  Are you kidding me?

    Got to the room.  Last tissue was in the tissue box when we got there - and housekeeping didn't replace it.  Came by for turn down service (although nothing was turned down) and they didn't replace the towels we used.  Huh?  The shower leaked all over the floor of the bathroom and foyer, causing a dangerous condition.  Bellman said he would get us a roll away bed, then never came back with it.  And no hair dryer in bathroom?  

    This hotel is just too big and impersonal for us; we like smaller hotels where the service is impeccable.  And $43 for valet parking per day?!  Oh well, learned our lesson.

    This is NOT a 4.5 star hotel.

    First off, you have to pay $10 to use the gym. Yes, a HOTEL GUEST has to pay $10 to use the gym! The gym is a basic amenity that any hotel should offer, for free to it's guests (especially at the prices they are charging). It is what we are paying for! It's the principal. I don't care about the money, but that is cheap and classless. Not something a high end hotel does. Strike 1!

    Strike 2:  A NAKED, yes butt- ass naked, homeless woman STOLE other hotel guest's clothing and room keys from the Loewe's "hotel guest"  beach area.  She proceeded to sneak into the pool area, with said stolen key, and take a dip in the jacuzzi. This is right after she gathered hotel towels, put them in a pile and peed on them.
    I told THREE different "security" personnel about this at the pool. They couldn't care less. They all responded  that its a public beach and they can't do anything about it. Well, If it's a public area, why are we paying to use the chairs? He told me to call the police. I said "YOU call the police"  that's your job!  What if she had a weapon?

    I felt very UNSAFE that a strange, naked, homeless woman could so easily trespass into an "exclusive"  hotel. That is unacceptable!  And also a huge liability for the hotel and dangerous for guests. This would never happen at the Ritz down the street, and  you don't pay to use the gym or chairs on the beach at the Ritz either.

    Strike 3: You have to pay for a beach chair on the "hotel beach"  that is also a public beach according to security.. . If it's a public beach, then why am  I paying for it?? Again, just nickel and dime silly stuff.

    The hotel is nice. The "towel" people at the pool were friendly and helpful. The rooms have nice balconies. That's it. They don't replace towels or change sheets- don't touch my bed unless you're changing it! Again, not 4.5 star service.

    Unsympathetic front desk employees who didn't care when we complained about the above issues.. 20% automatic service charge for lackluster service..

    I won't stay here again.

    If your safety and satisfaction is NOT their priority, there are plenty of other places to stay.

    Amazing stay and staff! Shout out to Monique for sending champagne and cake to the room for my friends birthday. Great beach, pool gets crowded but someone is always there to help you find a spot. Crazy expensive poolside menu but food was great. Try the Cajun chicken salad and chicken gyros! Amazing live music poolside during the day and entertaining bar/lounge  when they brought in a live band (Brothers of Others).

    Clean rooms, star service was a big help, Fiat experience an added bonus and walking distance from anywhere you want to be.

    I had high hopes for the Loews Miami Beach.  Looks gorgeous in pictures, great location, great brand.  However, my experience at this particular Loews was a VERY mixed bag, and I can't recommend it as a result.

    The positives: Location is fantastic, very nice bar staff, great pool area.

    And now the long list of negatives:

    First, I was greeted in my lovely room by a stranger's public hair on my sheets. Just lovely.  I can't think of anything more disgusting.  

    Second, the housekeeping and maintenance staff at this hotel are about as untrained as they come.  Each day of my stay, this staff screamed at each other down the hallways while guests were trying to relax and sleep. I mean, SCREAMED at each other.  These yells woke me up two days in a row. Now, if I were staying at some budget motel (god forbid) this may be something I'd expect. But I paid $549 per night for this room - this is no budget motel.  At those prices, I don't want to know the service staff even exists, let alone listen to them yell to each other down the long hallways. That is simply ridiculous and a sign of very poor training and poor management.  Completely unacceptable behavior.

    Third, the staff at the pool was just bizarre. Service was non-existent, the guy overfilled my drink and spilled it on me and his only comment was "you are all wet."  Seriously, Sherlock?

    I spent a long weekend at the Loews as an exhibitor at a conference, and overall, the place is pretty sweet.

    It's $$$$. At least $$ more than I'd ever spend if I were paying the check, but I could see where the extra $$ went!

    The room we stayed in was pretty spacious, the beds were soft, linens were as good as what I have at home (not normally the case in a hotel!) and, overall, I was comfortable during my stay.

    One thing that needs improvement here is the food. I spend a ton of money eating in the hotel because of the crazy hours at the conference, and I swear, I didn't have a decent meal the entire weekend. Everything was salty, fatty, overly rich, and overall, the portions were way off.

    The food at the conference was literally inedible for me- between the onions in everything, and the presence of lunch meat, I was out of luck there. One day, I went up to the room for an hour break, and ordered room service. For $16 plus fees, I got a brioche grilled cheese with a half cup of tomato soup. So disappointing! The sandwich was huge, but it was all bread! there wasn't even a little sliver of green in it, nothing, just butter, bread, a little cheese and an inappropriately small cup of soup. I had similar problems with their Caprese salad.

    If you're going to have the freedom to leave the hotel to eat, or if you just aren't particularly picky, this may not be a problem for you.. but I sure was glad to get back home to my kitchen!

    The Rum Line: You have to keep an eye out for this bar. It is set to open at the Lowes sometime this fall - I will definitely keep you updated. When you get to this outdoor bar you will be able to have original recipe cocktails like their punches in scorpion bowls, hand-shaken daiquiris, and nautical-inspired libations made with housemade mixers. Some of their featured drinks their dark & stormy with spiced Santa Teresa añejo, fresh lime, and ginger beer; and their All Hands on Deck with Scarlet Ibis rum, falernum, honey, pineapple, mint, lime. Get excited this is going to be good, my friends.

    This place is pretty trashy.  The rooms are really small and run down. Half the buttons on the remote didn't work and everything in the hotel was kind of broken down and gross.

    They also claim to have "complementary coffee" in the morning, but then charge $5 for a crappy cup of coffee.

    This is my second time staying at Loews. It cost but it is worth every penny.  The staff is extremely accommodating. On this trip, Nathalea at the front desk, Eddie, & Ricardo hooked me up.They made my stay worthwhile.   Even though I checked in almost 5 hours early, a room was ready and available on Christmas day.  The hotel itself is the best maintained on South Beach. I've stayed in almost every boutique to every high end hotel. Several had insect problems,  water damage,  poor maintenance,  or were just dirty.   Loews is the only one that stands out in excellence in regards to service and the facility. I will definitely be back.  

    Another plus is their exercise, spa,  and pool area.  It is a must during your stay.

    Since the Loews' newest bar does not yet have its own Yelp page (such a shame!), I will review it here so that it gets the recognition it deserves.

    The Rum Line is a breath of fresh air. Literally. Whether or not you're a rum lover, you will leave this place hooked. The cocktails are so inventive, colorful, strong and tasty that I was eager and thirsty to keep trying what Rob had up his sleeve.

    Usually when I see an elaborately decorated cake, I think to myself, "Looks awesome. Probably tastes mediocre." Let me say that these drinks taste as amazing as they look. The presentation is just a bonus to these expertly crafted cocktails that you can't find anywhere else.

    Now it wouldn't do these magical cocktails justice to house them in your run-of-the-mill bar. The space is outdoors, Miami chic,  upscale yet cozy. Perfect spot to come with a group of girlfriends, a date or even colleagues for a drink after work.

    Bottom line - it's time to get your rum on and do it right.

    Beautiful art deco hotel with great restaurants in the heart of Miami. The pool is enormous and has a bar right beside it. There are shady places to lay outside if you are fair-skinned like me.  And staff there to assist you with anything you need. I had dinner at both of their restaurants, Preston's and Lure Fishbar and both were excellent.

    Our hotel room was beautiful and very clean. Staff was polite and accommodating by holding our luggage all day after we checked out. The hotel bar is nice as well, comfortable couches and dim lighting.

    Unfortunately, my husband and I picked the wrong time to go to Miami and instead of having a quiet weekend, we had to deal with Urban Beach Week. Warning: Do not go to Miami during Memorial Day Weekend. Each year, hundreds of people are arrested during the most chaotic times of this very crowded music event.

    The reason I'm giving four stars is because the other guests in the hotel were so noisy, they woke us up several times throughout the night. I'm a little surprised that the hotel allows guests to be so disruptive in the hallways but I'm thinking it isn't usually like this.

    We did have pleasant dinners in the hotel and enjoyed laying by the pool, it's just too bad we didn't pick a different time to go.

    I can't say enough good things about my stay here!! Came here for a bachelorette party and stayed here for four nights. All the staff are super friendly from the doormen, to the front desk, pool attendants, to room service, the works. Carlos checked us in and when he found out we were there for a bachelorette he surprised the bride by sending two bottles of champagne up to our suite. The hotel is known for being a family hotel, so it's good if you're coming with a family. We choose this hotel as it was the only one on the strip that offered a good option for a suite for 7+ people who wanted to stay together.

    The reason this review lost a star is because of wifi and the beach chairs. You can only have two devices connect to wifi in a room. We had a suite which had two rooms so only four girls of a party of more than 7 could use free wifi, kind of unfortunate when your paying a lot for a nice stay. The nice thing is the beach is literally through a gate and across a boardwalk and your there. They give you free towels to use on the beach, however, beach chairs are going to cost you. Another downfall especially if your paying to stay there, you'd think it'd be included.

    Overall, aside from those two small points we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to miami!

    *This review is for the pool only.* When you first walk in,  the pool staff will find a seat for you and lay out your towels. There's regular and infused water for you,  which tastes great. There are restrooms and a shower located at the back part of the restroom. I love that there is a hair dryer near the sink area. The hot tub is VERY hot and small in size. The dry erase board at the front said the pool was 82 degrees,  but it felt cooler than that. The pool comes with noodles you can use to float/swim around. Every hour,  the staff walks around to serve free treats like frozen grapes. The service is impeccable. The bar is pricey, and gratuity is added. A mojito will cost you $20+. Some reviews said the WiFi was sketchy,  but it worked just fine for me. I love the short walkway from the pool to the beach.

    Buyer be aware!! I booked this hotel based on all the glowing reviews (I gues many of them were paid). They don't inform you at the time of reservation that there are extra charges for GYM and CHAIRS on the beach. When I addressed my complains to the manager she just smiled and said "it's not Loews that provide chairs on the beach but a third party and we are not responsible for them, if you don't like our hotel you're welcome to leave until 5 o'clock without penalty fee". She said that at 4:30 pm :) sweet
    I bet you expect a better treatment when you pay over $400/ per night.
    I'm so frustrated. Won't advise it to anyone. They ruined my vacations.

    It's a nice hotel with a great location in the heart of South Beach... love the bathrooms in particular. Pool is nice, it was great being able to enjoy the view from the balcony. My issue is the service. Stayed here with two of my girlfriends who were visiting from Australia, who said that everywhere they went before they had great customer service, until they got to Loews. There were multiple occasions when staff was rude to them and took a tone, especially down by the pool area. Why are we paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay at Loews, a 4-star hotel that is supposed to have amazing customer service if that isn't delivered upon?

    Complaining to the staff doesn't really help either. Was told that the complaints would be "noted" but of course nothing happens. I suppose most of the staff is good and courteous, and I understand one or two times there can be a slip up, but three or four occasions during a 3 night stay? Mehh I wouldn't personally stay here again. Not much going on around the lobby bar anyway. Delano looks cooler on the inside anyway!

    I stayed at the Loews for a buddy's bachelor party.  Here are my thoughts during my 3 night stay:

    ROOMS:  I stayed in a Luxury double bed room.  The room wasn't sizable by any means, but it was certainly nice.  The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was powerful.  Toiletries were from a private-label Loews brand.  There was a partial ocean view, and plenty of desk space.

    PROPERTY:  The lobby and grounds weren't super luxurious or anything, but the they looked nice enough.  Property seemed clean.

    SERVICE: Customer service was terrific.

    POOL/BEACH:  Both were fantastic.  The pool was large and had a 6 foot deep section.  They also provided towels without asking for your room number (which is annoying), and had free flavored water.  They also had some unique items for sale such as alcoholic sno-cones.  The hotel is right on the beach, which is very convenient.  The ocean directly in front of the Loews is amazing.  It's a clear blue color and is rock-free, so it was fun to relax in there.  The only negative is that we didn't have any big waves to play in.  It is very calm water.

    LOCATION:  The location is about as good as you can get in South Beach.  You are one block away from Lincoln and all of its restaurants and shops.  You are also one block away from Ocean Drive.  We never had to take a cab anywhere because everything was within walking distance.

    DEMOGRAPHICS:  The hotel had mostly tourists from other countries.  It had a lot of families and older couples.  I didn't see too much of a young 20/30-something crowd.

    Overall, we had an excellent stay at the Loews.  While it's certainly not cheap, you at least know you are getting luxury in return for your dollar.

    I just came back from the Loews in Miami Beach. I've stayed there three times prior. The location is great but the hotel is far from classic luxury. Originally I reserved a rate at $669. I checked every week until the rate dropped to $449. When I called Tuesday before my arrival to lower the rate the reservation agent told me they upgraded my room and to keep the rate at $479. When I checked in on Thursday I was told that was not the case. However, I demanded  the partial ocean view room which they gave me. As for the room it was a bit dated the headboard was soiled. Housekeeping was not the best we called for towels and they never came. They were horrible . We had to look for staff in order to get towels. The front desk staff were a little rude as well . I've had better service and nicer rooms at lower cost hotels .

    On a positive note I stayed at Soak poolside service and that was excellent. Robyn was our server and she was great. For $100. We received platters of fruit, beach beds, umbrellas, snow cones cotton candy .

    Tsehaye  was also great and accommodating  . After I expressed my disappointment in the service at the hotel she gave me a $150. Food and beverage credit ,free umbrella and beach chairs at the beach which I used during my stay.

    It is very expensive at this hotel you pay so much money and there is an extra charge for everything the  gym is $10 a day (go figure),

    Not sure if I will stay at the Loews again.

    It's a nice hotel good pool and steps from the beach like every other nice hotel in the area. Some love music in the bar in weekend. Nothing to complain about in the hotel  room was good. Here is the big issue. Suntan lotion as I forgot to pack, $32. Bucket of corona $60. Rum drink $18. Beach chair $13. Copies at the front desk. $2 per sheet. I get charging for convenience but drink and food and sundry prices are abusive. $15 for a gin and tonic in a plastic cup?
    Tip of the trip, there is a liquor store literally across the street. Stock up and buy and portable drinking cup.  Oh, the doffs is marginal at best. Stay here for sure, BYOB, and eat out.

    The Loew's hotel is well known for its prestige and accommodations. While spending 5 days in the hotel, I got a chance to explore a lot of what the property had to offer.

    First, my temporary home was a skyline view on the 14th floor with a balcony. Some folks may complain about getting a city view in an ocean front property, but they must not enjoy sunset views. I caught myself spending time on the balcony to catch a gorgeous view.

    The property has a pool and hot tub area that is fairly large, but not overwhelming. This is a good place to spend an afternoon (I'm typing quickly so I can squeeze the final drops out of my board shorts).

    I also visited Preston's, the hotel lobby lounge that offers live music and comfy couches. Make sure you pad your pockets before buying a beer down here. South beach prices in full swing!

    We also visited the rum lounge in the other tower by Lure (seafood restaurant). The service was "meh" but the drinks were delightful. Again, par for the course in terms of price but veeeerrrry tasty.

    You of course have access to the beach and Lincoln Rd for all your people watching desires. Careful though, you may get propositioned to purchase $9,000,000 face cream.

    Great location right on the beach and walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Upon entering the hotel you are greeted immediately and staff is normally very friendly.

    The pool is excellent with full bar, good food, cabana rentals, and lots of chairs circling the area.

    The rooms are nice and clean, flat screen tv's and comfortable bed. Typical beach hotel size 350-400 sq ft for standard rooms. Nice bar in the center of the hotel, and coffee bar for morning joe and pastries on the go.

    My only knock on this place would be the lack of quality restaurants...the food by the pool is very good but nothing I would say that is exceptional for dinner.

    I would highly recommend over other places though as the location and beach setting can't be beat.

    We stayed for 6 days over spring break.Here are the highlights:

    - St. Moritz tower: Our suite was in this building and it was lovely. It does feel a bit apart and more calm than the main building, which is a bustling place.
    - Staff: Really terrific staff, and lots of them. At the pool, in the restaurant ... everywhere.
    - Beach: Not that the Loews can claim the beach to itself but the location is great and such easy access to move from pool to beach and back again. Get a bed cabana on the beach and stay all day.
    - Food: As expected - nice hotel food. Eat off property if you're looking for great food. The value equation with the food is out of whack, IMHO. Not good enough for the prices. Hotel brunch is always a racket and this was no exception.
    - Beverages: Again, does every drink need to cost $15? Maybe if you're on an expense account it doesn't matter. After a few days, it just made me mad.
    - Kids club: We chose the Loews because their kids club starts at 4YO. It turns out the kids club just wasn't as awesome as other places we've stayed so our kids only went one 1/2 day.

    I really like the friendly staff, the location, the view from my 8th floor room, the pool... I'm glad we picked this spot for our 5 day getaway.  

    On the weekend the pool was packed with children (not my favorite way to relax) but there is a private pool associated with the gym/spa that allowed a respite.  Plus the beach front chairs were also available.  During the week, however, the child to adult ratio at the big pool was much more to my liking.  It took some time to flag down a waiter but that was in part because I was in no hurry and when Keven did take my order he was quick, thoughtful and checked up on me regularly.

    The size of the hotel allowed me to feel a sense of privacy even during the high Spring Break season.

    Prices are high, but I think the service, ambience and location are worth the cost.
