unfriendly staff. my room key wasn't working and I went to the receptionist to fix it, he gave me the key with the wrong room number on purpose and so I had to go down to fix it again.

two-room suite only has one bathroom, what?

you get what you pay for.

I stayed here for Spring Break with 1,2,3,4 other dudes and we had a great time. We had enough room to even entertain a few guest from time to time. The staff was real chill they never complained about our over packed room...maybe just a look or two. If you're a college student on a budget and you want to stay somewhere modern and close to the SoBe action this is your spot!

You know those little "this is how it feels to live in 450 square feet the Ikea way" apartment walk throughs they have at Ikea. Well, after staying here, you will know. EVERYTHING is from Ikea, every bit of furniture, appliance, wallpaper, flooring, forks, towels, tvs etc. It is a living breating and fully immersing commercial for Ikea. And if thats your thing, than Hey Welcome Home. We stayed here as they were wrapping up Jersey Shore taping, and because of that they had just opened a small block of suites to the public, so the rate was off the chain...It was under $50 a night. And thats what it is worth. The first suite we were in had a broken stove, and a sink that didn't have the pipes properly connected underneath and ran onto the floor in puddles. Add to that the front desk girl couldn't tell us what tv channels there were, and they didn't want to move us when the stove didn't work and the sink was flooding. Finally they moved us, and wow The room has a mini bar? And dishes? All these things that had been missing from the first room miraculously appear, just as a cabinet door falls off. Seriously whoever did the work of renovating this place was half blind and counting on it only ever being occupied by the drunkest of patrons (hence Jersey Shore). So thats all the negative. The positive...obviously price! LOCATION!! Absolutely priceless location, walk to the clubs, all the food, shopping and BEACH. Free drinks from 7-8pm, cuz you know five martinis later, the broken cabinet looks more like a piece of avant garde artwork, than a piece of crap. Also it did have a strange yet lovely little courtyard area, with a strange yet lovely little pool (COUGH semen pit) that I dared only put my feet into, and I don;t even think was originally designed for touching. All in all, I may even dare to return, albeit prepared.

i can agree with the other yelpers in saying that this place is pretty nice. my gf and I enjoyed our stay and at a last minute price of $99 for a sunday this was a clear sign that we needed to extend our stay another night. i was able to book it online at 10 pm from my other hotel a mile up collins and was able to check in after our night on the town at around $5am (after a $20 tip of course). the place was what I expected and then some. Black and white colored them, a full kitchen, mirrors, roomy closets, marble countertops, funky lights, microwave, big comfortable beds and TWO PLASMA 42IN tvs is my definition of a suite. Im young, i dont need 800 count sheets, nor "luxury" drapes, just give me the modern but young stuff, like an ipod dock and surround sound. the black, grey and white theme kept the room cool and gave the appearance of it being bigger than it is.

the location is literally right around the corner from the beach. i was staying in a apartment not a timeshare or overpriced hotel. thanks metropole!

i did not want to leave

Pros: Very comfortable beds and pillows. Contemporary design, open kitchen.

Cons: Limited lighting in bedrooms, small bathroom. King bedroom was cramped and tv was off center. Room 104

Overall I was happy with this hotel except for there are no public restrooms while your waiting for your room to be ready or waiting for the shuttle.  We arrived at 2pm and room was not ready they told us to come back at 3pm.  We came back at 4pm and our room still wasn't ready.  However the manager upgrade our one bedroom to a two bedroom suite at no addition charge was a a great gesture.  Our room easily accessible from the courtyard.  They have a small sit in whirlpool outside.  I would definatley stay here again.

This place is a joke. Do Not stay here. There was no hot water! The service was terrible. We got charged $4000.00 by mistake on our credit card because they do not have the mentality to train their staff correctly. Certainly when we checked out in the middle of our stay the electricity goes out. Just cause the jersey shore cast stayed here they think it's an adequate enough place to call 4 star hotel... Run out and don't look back.

We rented four 2-room suites for a large group of us vacationing in SoBe this winter and the place was great for our slightly rowdy group. The rooms were nice but some of the features and fixtures were a bit cheap. Service and staff were great though! Location to the beach and Ocean Drive is great too. Walking distance to many great restaurants, clubs, and the ocean.

If you are picky with hotels, I wouldn't stay here. The rooms are very dark, dark walls, dark and heavy curtains with stains, and there wasn't a lot of lighting in the rooms either. The pool was for show because it was way too small for anyone to really swim in it. The key cards didn't work. The staff said it was because I was putting them near my cell phone. I travel a lot and probably stay in hotels every three months, and I've never had that problem.  I was charged extra fees on my credit card. When I called, he said they the system charged me 3 resort fee days instead of four when I checked out.  They charged me $33! The resort fee was only $16. They said the system charged me one extra day on accident. They said they will refund me. The good thing about this hotel was the location and the staff was friendly. Other than that, that's it. My advice is to save your money and go a few blocks toward 16th and Collins and stay in that area if you are picky about hotels. I should've done that.

i will give this place two stars on behalf of my friends who actually received their room..... Yea when we got there we were informed that they cancelled our room. The manager was a complete asshole bc i didnt receive any emailstating that they cancelled the room. she said we were there during a holiday bit under their holidays are dates of stay werent listed. I just say if you are staying there be careful bc even my friends had a few issues but they said they liked the location bc it was by the beach and fat tuesdays! the dumb chick tried to help us find another place to saty since we were basically HOMELESS but wasnt willing to discount it so we just used priceline negotiator and stay at courtyard marriot which turned out awesome!!! i was really looking firward to staying there but not being informed of any changes i would have to stay F U to the manager but thank you to the dumb chick for her effort lol

Rooms are nice and well decorated but neither clean or well maintained. There is a full kitchen with a huge oven but don't expect to cook as there is not enough cooking ware or equipment.

At the front desk, they have unusual and strange business practices: they take a print of your credit card with an old rack you can't see an in the US since the late 90's and then they ask you to sign the card sheet without any amount on it and won't let you get a receipt!

Otherwise a great deal, especially if you buy from Hotwire.

Yes, certainly not the most lavish/luxurious spot in south Beach, but get this...we knew that before going. Fortunately we were actually surprised by the cuteness/stylishness of the room. It did in fact look it did in the pictures we saw. Loved the framed pictures, the new stainless steel appliances, the funky white leather couch, and cow skin rug.

We all agreed, it looked like a cute apartment in Manhattan. Tiny too. But perfect for the four of us. Two in the room and two on the fold out sofa. The closet was large enough for us to store a few suitcases in, and all of our brightly colored, sassy dresses!

Sure room service was on the slow side, but we were patient and out most of the time so it wasn't a big deal. We didn't have to worry much though, because our sheets weren't ever damp and smelly. (That review below left me wondering....). Plus I try to use the same towel twice if I can. Hey we need to conserve water people!

We were always greeted with a friendly smile upon entering and leaving the premises, no matter what time of day (or night).

The only downside I can think of is the water leak in the shower. I read about the problem in some Trip Advisor reviews, but we just set some towels on the floor to catch any water. Oh that, and the fact that there weren't any full length mirrors to be found. And sometimes a lady needs a FULL LENGTH mirror =)

All in all, I would definitely recommend it.   Very good deal for the price.

Stayed here for three nights during a festival in south beach. I hesitated to book since I read so many 'average' comments but against my gut I booked it due to the size of the group I was traveling with. We got a two bedroom suite on the 3rd floor with only ONE bathroom. Right off the bat the AC broke down when I tried adjusting the meter so I had to call the front desk within the first 30 minutes of us arriving. I asked for a room change but the manager insisted we give him a little bit to fix the issue. At a point It was hotter in the room than in the hallway. Anyway... eventually the fixed the AC in the room which was mediocre and loud to be honest.

The Bathroom itself was very poorly lit and did not have a full door for the shower so the water splashed all over the floor. The sink in the kitchen I used once and as soon as i did the sink started smelling horribly. I had to call again and they had house keeping come up and wash out whatever it was that was stinking up the sink. The pool is a joke, there is no bar, and room service is done very late.  I ended up being charged for stuff that was "used" from the minibar.

The only good things about the stay was the amount of beds (2 kings, 1 sofa queen, and 1 twin) that were in the "suite".

Long story Short, I would NEVER EVER stay here again. I literally felt like a complaining tenant in a slum building.

    Fabulousness!!!

This place is on collins, but it's TRULY, 1 block from ocean drive, and has the fabulous view of Arden B, Mango, and Zara across the street, at the beginnings of a great strip of shopping in SoBe.

The decor is ultra-lush! There are black and white striped huge lofty curtains that lines the walls in the living, a beautiful, new stainless steel appliances in the kitchenette, and an actually comfortable pull out couch! And there are plenty of blankets to use for the guests in the room as well. The one bedroom suite comes stocked with 2 flat screen tvs and dish network cable. no fridge, but the ice machine is nearby in the hallway. a closet, a bedroom, and living room, and plush bathroom stocked with a swanky tub.

and in the off season, a hotel room is ONLY about 120 a night. pretty great for South Beach!

This place was not worth it and it was a joke. I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The place had no good lighting, it was very hard to unpack and find what you were looking to wear, sometimes I had to use my flash light on my cell phone. I guess they didn't want you to see how bad in shape it was. The shower had no door and water got all over the floor. The used my slipper to get in the shower. It was nasty. My advice to anyone do not stay at the beach, stay by the airport the rooms are moderate. If I ever go again which I doubt it, I will certainly stay by the airport.

Oh by the way the pictures online is a lie. Good Luck!

I have mixed feelings on this place.... My friend and I stayed in the King One Bedroom Suite which was decorated very lovely as was the hotel. The only thing I would say in reference to the decor is that they should find a way to put a full length mirror in the room. There is plenty of space for it but it was definately something that was missing. Also, the table in the living room collapsed out of no where during our stay. They do have a huge walk in closet that was quite handy for two girls! I found the hotel to be very chic! They even have free WiFi in the rooms which was also a plus. I loved the location of the hotel...close to just about everything...Shopping...Restaurants..bars...Wet Willies..Fat Tuesdays! And a block from the beach!

I would stay here again....it lost one star because the staff is clueless and the mgr is an a**hole!!  The service they provide is not up to par. I work for a hotel too so I know what it is to work in the hospitality business and the staff here seem to have a whatever attitude. I didnt have a problem with the service until the last day so this is why I wouldnt let it put a stain on my overall experience.

For the price and the location, Metropole Hotel offers so much more than I expected. Really cool, suite-like room with a kitchenette, comfortable bed and funky fun decor.

The staff is friendly enough and the parking (valet at the front) is affordable and very convenient.

Mainly, for the cost it's very impressive.

Husband booked a room at this hotel for the weekend and I was not impressed.  I don't care the Jersey Shore stayed here, makes it even less attractive.  I felt the place was not as clean as it should have been.  The bathroom was way too small.  Toilet didn't flush easily, shower doesn't even have a full door cover so the water gets out causing your bathroom to flood.  Lighting was horrible (negative for girls like me who need to put on makeup). The only plus is the location.  Consider all your options before booking a room here.

I luv Metropole it was originally an apartment converted.  I like the full kitchen with stainless steele appliances.  The staff is not very friendly! nice decor simple, clean with huge walk-in closets. The location is excellant for SoBe shopping, clubbing and resturants, and of course Ocean Drive is a couple blocks away.  not so into the chain stores, Victoria Secrets, Aldo, Mac, etc.... put these back in the Mall where they belong.

I just stayed at the Metropole last weeked, it was my 2nd time staying at this hotel, and I absolutely LOVE it there. I will stay at this hotel EVERY trip to south beach. I had read some reviews on here prior to booking my 2nd stay there and I totally respect other "yelper's" opinions, but definitely believe any less than awesome experience there had to have been a fluke, as almost every place is bound to have once in a while.

I took my cousin there for her 16th bday and when she first walked in and saw the suite her eyes lit up and she was thrilled. The room was spotless, it is decorated beautifully, it's HUGE, and it feels like you are in an apartment not a hotel. The thing I also liked is that the entire hotel is all made up of 1 or 2 bedroom suites, unlike other places where the majority of the rooms are tiny and there are a few suites for double the price...here you always get a suite.

The location could not get any better..we walked almost everywhere, and when we did have to drive (to Lincoln Rd) the valet service was excellent and very convenient. (For $30 you can come and go as many times as you like, it is much more cost effective and way easier than trying to find a spot at a parking garage or lot every time you want to go somewhere) The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome..the beds were SUPER comfortable....we did not want to leave.

The price was totally reasonable...$271 including the valet service. The charges on my bill and debit card were correct...There is not one thing I wasn't totally pleased with. They do use an "old school" credit card rack when you check in that doesn't show the amount (as someone mentioned on here), but when you check out you are given a receipt with the total, and again, everything on my bill was 100% correct. I booked our room online 2 days prior to our stay, and they immediately send you an email confirmation with the price on it, so you have something to reference to when you check out.

It is not the place to go if you are looking for an extravagant lobby or room service (there is no restaurant/lobby), but there is a full kitchen (refridgerator, stove, pots/pans/dishes) and it's so close to all the restaurants that you aren't missing anything by not having room service..(why would we stay in our room and eat when we went down there to go out). The only thing I would bring with you is sugar/creamer packets for your coffee if you plan to use the room coffee maker (I couldnt find it in the room, but I'm sure if I would have asked them at the front desk they would have had them). I also brought a few of my own snacks/drinks to save $$ rather than rely on the minibar for everything and there was plenty of room in the fridge.

There are flat screen tv's in every bedroom as well as the living room, Ipod dock, wireless internet..the a/c worked like it was brand new, the shower/bathroom was great, towels were nice & fresh..Everything was clean & well maintained. Our room was in the courtyard so it was so private and we sat out there at night.  There is a desk attendant downstairs 24/7 in case you need anything...we asked for some extra washcloths and he couldn't have been any friendlier to us..this was at 6am, (we were waiting to watch the sunrise on the beach)...I think there is something to be said about night shift staff that are as bright and cheery as if it was the middle of the day. I didnt stop smiling the whole time I was there.

If you are looking for a great hotel that is reasonably priced (for south beach), super clean, comfortable and enjoyable to stay it with HUGE rooms, located right in the middle of everything that will surely impress your guests...this is your place. My cousin's sweet 16 was a super sucess! I give it 5 stars for sure & can't wait for another reason to go back :)

Great little hotel on South Beach.  Close to everything.  Clean rooms.  Free towels and chairs for the beach and a good bargain compared to others in the same block.  Only negative is no pool.  But who needs a pool when you are on South Beach?  I'll be back again this summer still!

Stayed here for a bachelorette and it was a good experience. Suite 101 was conveniently in front of courtyard. The staff members were very friendly.

Though they had a problem putting us in a room despite the reservations made weeks ago, the manager made sure we got a room we would like.  We were more psyched because the suite given to us was one of the rooms from Jersey Shore- Miami episode.  :)

The lighting in the rooms were very poor.  Imagine 6 girls getting ready with one bathroom and not a lot of lighting to do our make ups. Yeah that was annoying.
Also, the set up of the beds were near the opening of the door so when you walk in, there is 80% chance you are going to hit the edge of the bed.

Other than that, it was roomy, convenient and affordable.

Amenities include eight pairs of power sockets, iPod speakers, and phone.  Coffeemaker has used grounds or pods in it.   I don't know where to get ice for the bucket yet.  Nearby parking structure is $24/day (no in and out).  Paper towels are provided but not dishwashing liquid.

Someone on our hallway kept stealing our door hanger.  The air conditioning system makes the floor vibrate a little.   They charged $23.44 even though we didn't eat whatever was in the kitchen tray and drink anything provided in the fridge.  We had to ask the desk for towels, which feel rough. When loud groups walk past, you can hear it through your door.

Stayed here for 1 night during a friend's bachelor party & promptly moved to another hotel for the rest of our stay.

Granted that there was a huge convention going on, so I will not consider the intolerable of the noise level as a factor the Metropole is responsible for.

The most shocking surprise was that the room floor was slanted. It was so bad that it became disorienting after a few hrs (unrelated to my cocktail consumption). The bathroom was far too snug to maneuver. The amenities included were functional but not practical- tiny microwave oven, kitchenette w/ basics, and the the lamps would flicker spontaenously. Not the worst place to stay in sobe but i'd recommend several others that would be worth the extra $50/night.

The staff were very friendly and there were ice dispensers available. Not really much of a pool scene but somewhat of a lounging veranda w/ hammocks and recliners.

Aw, Jennifer beat me to it! Do I get points for being the first to review's travel companion? :)

There are so many hotels in South Beach...how do you choose?  I can say that Metropole was a great fit for 4 ladies because it was roomy enough (big closet, yay!) for the 4 of us while also being affordable.  The rooms used to be apartments and definitely have that feel.  It's very cute, a little kitschy and definitely fun.  The decor is reminiscent of a stylish Manhattan apartment with lots of white enamel, funky black and white prints and fun light fixtures.  It's also situated in a great location...a block from the beach and steps to lots of shopping and eating on Ocean Drive.

The staff was friendly and attentive, always fulfilling our requests and never let you pass through without a friendly hello.  The little courtyard that the rooms overlook is SO cute!  A great place to relax with friends or read quietly.  For the price, I was very happy with our stay at Metropole.  It's definitely not as luxurious as some of the hotels in the area, but it's also got a lot of character and was comfortable enough for a few nights.

Okay let me get the good stuff out of the way.  The location is really nice and so are the staff.  The room was okay, we got upgraded to a horrible view, makes me wonder what the original view was like.  And that's about all the good things that I can come up with.

On to the bad.  First night there, the fire alarm went off at 5am, and again a couple of days later.  The toilet didn't always flush, and on our last night we got locked out of our rooms, not cool.

So would I stay here again.....Probably not.

*** Really a 2.5 but I will round to 3 because I have seen far worst and the staff was pleasant ( a rarity in Miami Beach) ***

    Pros:
-Location. if you want to be in the middle of all the South Beach action, this is the place for you. Its on 6th & Collins a block away from Ocean Ave. and the beach, shopping, nightlife, etc. You are right in the mix of things!

-The bell boy Rene, valet, and front desk staff were very cool and helpful. They made sure everything was okay for us, and even when we made several complaints, they made sure to fix it, and never got slick with us. I can appreciate that.

    Cons:
-The pictures online made the room look a lot cleaner and bigger than it actually was. When I walked into the room, the first thing I noticed were stains on the curtains, making the place look very dingy and unkept.

-The bathrooms are very small and dark, with no shower door! Not cool at all! There was water all over the floor after I showered, and doing hair and makeup was a nightmare because you can't see what you're doing, even with the bathroom light on!

-The rooms seem to be made very cheaply. Definitely not worth the $$$ they charge.. If Metropole was charging $100 a night I would not complain b/c thats what they are worth. But definitely not worth $400+ a night IMO.

I would stay here again if the price was right, however I would not recommend this place to very picky travelers.

Jersey Shore is not helping this place out. Everyone who stayed in the rooms the shore stayed in were loud and obnoxious. Not the hotels fault, everyone who worked there was nice.
The rooms were great and very spacious. I loved that we had a full kitchen. There is no pool but its a block away from the beach so thats awesome. I would stay again but I want to be as far away from the jersey room as possible.

The front desk staff is incredibly nice and for the price this hotel is not so bad. The issue was that the cleaning staff didn't really clean and the bathroom door and room door didn't close completely (this was annoying because we had a party of four).

We got room 101, apparently the same room Jersey Shore stayed in.

Pros: Nice decor, courtyard, location and free drinks during happy hour at the hotel across the street.

Cons: Lighting inside sucks, only 1 bathroom in the 2 bedroom suite, no shower water pressure, can't turn the air below 70 degrees, the pool is a bird bath, only one person working at the front desk (constant line all day), key cards didn't work (was given 1 key only for 6 people)

Overall if you looking for a hotel with a nice location to the beaches and nightlife this is a good spot. But don't expect some luxurious and spacious room for the money you'll be spending for the room (which is super pricy).

Dirty. Loud. Terrible staff. Pool is literally no bigger than a bath tub. A very dirty bathtub. The room was laid out very strange- the bathroom door blocking the bedroom when open, and a bathroom sink in the kitchenette that was so poorly designed you could not use it to rinse a dish. We Akers for a wine bottle opener and after 2 hours of waiting were told to buy our own at a store. The room was dirty!!! Stains on the drapes, walls, chairs and couch. The music player didn't work and the lights thought the room randomly wouldn't work. For $500 for 2 nights I would never stay here again. Maybe for a group of college kids wanting a pad to party but not a nice get away. Yuck.

The initial process of getting your room, is long and not customer friendly.

Usually you can always check in earlier than an actual check in.  NOT HERE.  You'll have to wait till 3 pm, especially if you're getting a 2 bedroom.  Now if you want the 2 bedroom suite in the courtyard, you'll have to wait till 5 pm.  Me and my party of 9 arrived at 1 pm to drop off our luggage.  To check in our luggage, the man at the front desk who checks people in/out, answers the phone also checks in your luggage even if there's a long line at the desk.  Isn't there bell men for this??? It's a small front desk that only fits one person.  It's not their fault, it's management.  Other than that, he did a great job multi tasking, just be ready to wait a bit to get helped! But while the girls waited, they lounged in a small beautiful courtyard the hotel offered.

When we finally checked in, we loved that we were located down  the hall in the corner, because obviously we came to Miami to party!   The room was spacious: two rooms, king and queen size bed equipped with their own 42 inch mounted flat screen and walk in closets! Along with that we had a communal living space area with a sofa bed, dining table, full equipped kitchen and another 42 inch tv.  Okay ladies downside to this.  Were all woman and we have to get ready! Lighting is DIM and room 201 only has mirrors in the kitchen and in the bathroom! I know other rooms had a full length mirror, but our room doesn't because we honestly think that this is a room for men.  So if you're a group of woman , ALWAYS REQUEST THAT YOU WANT A ROOM WITH A LOT OF MIRRORS!

Other than that, service was great and the hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Collins Ave Shop District and steps away from the beach! I would definitely stay here again!

    Horrid, horrid, horrid!

Don't be fooled by the nice pictures on their website.  The one bedroom suite we got looked like a gross, dirty version in comparison (imagine Jersey Shore house AFTER it's already been stayed in).  Stains on the drapes, the two girls that slept on the pull out couch got bug bites, and poor plumbing in the bathroom (the shower smelled like sewage and every time the toilet was flushed you had to wait at least 10 minutes before it could be used again) were just some of the horribleness we had to deal with.  If I didn't know any better I would have though we were staying at a fancied up Motel 6.  Plus, the layout of the room wasn't very well planned.  The entryway was small and once the pull out was open there wasn't much space to keep our luggage out of the way other than putting it in the kitchen.

Oh and good luck trying to rent a decent "beach umbrella".  We were expecting some nice lounge chairs with an umbrella set up for us but instead they gave us a cheap, tiny umbrella that was falling apart and looked like it came from the flea market.  It was embarrassing how it kept inverting on the beach and falling over, while everyone had their nice set ups from their hotels / resorts.

The rest of the girls on our trip stayed in the two bedroom suite which, I have to admit was far better in comparison but I think way overpriced.

The friendly staff and decent location are just about the only things this place has going for it.

For the price you pay, I'd recommend staying at the Fointainbleu.

So, I've never actually seen a full episode of Jersey Shore or even the one where they supposedly stayed here.  I also fail to see how their staying here has anything to do with the hotel's merits but I digress.

Let's see...  tried to check in an hour early which, in most places isn't such a huge problem but we were sternly told by the day manager that this was absolutely impossible and that we would have to wait until 3pm - no exceptions.  Fine.  Valet the car, go drinking, not a problem.

Checked into the room (we got unit 402, I assume that 302 and 202 are the same) and frankly, I think the place is cute.  It's set up like any small apartment would be.  1 bedroom, large closet, tiny bathroom with a shower, living room, open kitchen. Tasteful, hip decor. So maybe the furniture might be from Ikea - who cares you're in South Beach.  Are you staying in the room all day staring at furniture and light fixtures?  I should certainly hope not.  Get to the beach already!  Those of you expecting the Setai or The Delano should go to (and pay for) the Setai or Delano.

For the ladies - the lighting in the bathroom is completely retarded and it probably wouldn't hurt to back an extra flood light  (only half joking).  Seriously, the lighting in the bathroom makes it very awkward to do your hair and make-up.  There is a mirror in the kitchen but with the sink in the way it just makes things awkward.  Also, as other Yelpers have mentioned NO FULL LENGTH MIRRORS!!!  WHY?!?!  This makes no sense to me whatsoever.  It really wouldn't kill them to stick even a cheap one somewhere.

Beyond that, the beach is a 2 minute walk away, there's a bunch of restaurants along Ocean (1 street east of Collins) to go to.  There's no bar at the hotel but with your room key you have access to free Happy Hour at any of the other South Beach Group hotels (don't forget to tip!).  Lincoln Rd is a short cab/bike/whatever your preferred mode of transportation is away.

Bottom line - the place is clean, safe, enjoyable, the staff (aside from the check-in guy at first) was friendly and in my case extremely accommodating and I had a blast.  You may book with confidence.

We had a roach in our room then we were moved to a smaller room, we paid for a king size bed yet we got a twin size . The manager Andres Benitez denied compensation for us and now we are in the process of escalating the case as fraud. This is just a very short version of what happened. We have photo and video documentation of everything

This hotel sucks! First time in Miami and the hotel was not great. I reserved a one bedroom suite. The floors are literally like walking up and down the hill, they are so uneven. My room door would not close. The shower was rarely hot. Room was never cleaned unless we have to call the front desk to have someone to clean it. The service is poor. I had called the front desk for four towels and did not receive it not one but two hours later after another phone call down to the desk.

The place is strict. I never knew why we had to be quiet after 11, until after we received a warning. After that, it was literally a knit pick towards our room as to be loud on the third floor while there was others being loud. The wall aren't as thin. However, the room doors do not close all the way, they are slanted due to the poor structure of this building. You would think they would try to reconstruct the unevenness of the floor from the money they are making but it is not being done. I still have one more day to stay but I had to get this review out from the past 2 nights I've been here. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

I am not a yelper but had to do it for this one and i will probably do a trip adviser.
Im not going to rant but I will try and be balanced.

the pros: are location basically at the beach yadda yada shopping and clubs real close too and I did kinda like the patio.
    but its definitely NBD.

The staff was in general nice. They seemed a bit stressed but its summer i give them the benefit of the doubt.

Main bed was really nice and had things a 4 star hotel would have shampoo bla. but the showers have no door so water gets everywhere hence the lack of towel service because we have to constantly dry it?

    anyway...

    the CONS:

Staff unreasonably slow and not the brightest like 5th call finally got some towels and answers to questions.

Our first room we got into was still getting cleaned when we arrived and it was ohh past 5 and check in was 330...k not a big deal

slept on that so called sofa bed: be warned its a sheet with springs it SUCKS ROYALY.

woke up the next day concentrated bites ALL OVER ME. Told the manager and he said and i quote "those are probably mosquito bites. We couldn't find any bed bugs". Switched the mattress anyway and was asked "why it was I who got the bites?" well sir I was the only one who slept on that pull out spring sheet.

Next i walk into the next room (because we switched) and lo and behold (and I kid you not) there's a waterfall coming from some water regulator device on our luggage IN THE CLOSET. Switched to another room okay fine but no compensation, NOW IM UPSET. They never brought it up again and acted like it never happened.

here is some insider stuff for all of u from an employee I spoke with. They stated If something bad happens the manager rarely refunds anything at all and you will have a slim to ZERO chance for compensation. Be warned you probably wont get a dime back even if u threaten to sue they most likely don't care.

    over all:

    Experience a fat F

    Location a solid A.

good luck because my standards are pretty low and I was thoroughly disappointed. I mean damn just at least compensate a day or something sheeesh.

oh yea and good luck finding the shuttle the driver literally shook his head and said no when i asked him metropole? and its unmarked.

If you are a college kid that wants to party and just party you will actually enjoy it. All the bad reviews you see on yelp about this hotel are true, small, bad layout, stains and noisy. The bathrooms are pathetic.
If you are someone looking for luxury, a relaxing place, and a overall ok experience, don't stay there. Really!

Stayed there this weekend. Where do I begin? The valet service took forever and we stood in the heat with our bags. Then we went inside, checked in, and the door boy walked us to our room as my boyfriend carried all our bags behind him. The room was okay. The air was broken and the room was at 80 degrees our entire stay. I requested maintenance from the lobby and some guy came in but did nothing to fix it. Our sink was clogged and the bathroom door was broken. Customer service was terrible and they were not helpful at all. Lastly, as we were leaving the valet guy pointed out to us where all the valuables were in our car. Why he went through our entire car? I don't know. Won't go back there again.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS SO CALLED HOTEL!!!!!

MY LUGGAGE WAS STOLEN FROM THE CONCIERGE ON MY FIRST DAY OF ARRIVAL and IT TOOK MANAGEMENT 2 DAYS TO RESPOND and EVEN PARTIALLY COMPENSATE ME.

I arrived at the  hotel at around 9am. Our room was not ready yet for check in, so i proceeded to check my baggage in with the concierge and wait for the rest of my party to arrive. When the rest of our group arrived, we all left for lunch around noon. When we returned from eating at about 1:30pm, i turned in my ticket to retrieve my luggage. To my horror, Elizabeth at the front desk or any of the bellmen could not locate my bag.  The hotel manager, Andres then checked the surveillance footage and figured out that a a hotel guest had taken my bag because the hotel had left it unattended in a public hallway!!! At this point, I had to call the cops to report the theft and file a report, which took even more time from my vacation.

Please also note that another theft/assault happened to another girl and her friends the following day by the same guests!!!!!. The hotel allowed them to continue to stay in the hotel after what happened to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

****BEWARE OF UNRESPONSIVE and SHADY UPPER MANAGEMENT!!!

If you want to get ripped off, experience bad hotel management, and have your trip ruined, then stay here!

Otherwise, there are plenty of other hotels to stay in the area that will provide you with a better South Beach experience than here.

Nice hotel, good location and really close to the beach. Hotel room was really nice, had a  separate bedroom and kitchen with stainless steel appliances. I even had a nice view of the ocean. Very pretty rooms, comfortable beds, and all the convenience of a kitchen and dining table. The location is great, of course, with the public parking garage next door, a pharmacy a block away, and plenty of places to party within walking distance. Special thanks to Carlos at the front desk who was very helpful and very patient with our girlfriends, all of whom had too much to drink that day on the beach.

I didn't think this place was too bad but, it was quirky ...

We got off a cruise and had planned to stay some extra nights in Miami. Not knowing how we were going to get from the cruise port to the hotel I emailed Andres the manager asking if he knew if there was alternate transportation to the hotel other than a taxi (I did see they had shuttle service from the airport so, I thought give it a shot and see what they would say). What did he say?? Nothing! An email back saying no, you'll need to take a taxi would have been nice.

Anyway, we got there and it was interesting they did not have a lobby just two people sitting/standing behind a small counter. Both ladies were very friendly and held our luggage for us, recommended a good Cuban restaurant, and booked us on a tour of Miami (I have my own comments about that later).

Well, we went on the tour and came back to the hotel to check in. The place took an imprint of our credit card. Really?? Who does that anymore? I've stayed at a lot of places recently and they just swiped my card but to, take a physical imprint not once but, three times seemed a little worrisome.

The flooring of this place is uneven so there are dips in the floor even when you get into the elevator. Speaking of the elevator our room was on the 3rd floor and when we pressed the down button it did not light up, so we did not know if we called the elevator to our floor or not but, the up arrow button lit up so we pressed that to make sure the elevator would come.

    Now for the room.

Walls - The walls seemed really thin and we could hear people from the street and the room either next door or across the hall. There was a lamp in the living room that we could not figure out how to turn off as we could not find a switch so, we had to unplug it to turn it off.

Kitchen - The kitchen sink looked like a sink that you would find in a bathroom. It was a raised style sink not one that you would expect to find in a kitchen.

Bathroom - The faucet in the bathroom sink was not secure it would spin around. When you took a shower water would go come up out of the shower area and get the floor wet. To flush the toilet you had to hold the button down for at least 10 seconds to get a complete flush

While I don't want to sound completely negative the bed was nice and the AC was good and they had free wi-fi. It did have a nice courtyard area where you could sit out and relax. The location seemed to be pretty decent especially since the beach is only one block away and most of the places we went to were in walking distance.

The place was rather quirky, I can't say that I really disliked it that much but, there are somethings that could have been better.

We arrived at the recommendation of a friend who had stayed there and had had an excellent experience. We also had, we went in March 2014 with my husband and we touched on the 2nd floor very spacious, comfortable, modern apartment. It consisted of a room (with TV), living room (also with TV) and dining area, open kitchen quite spacious, many closets for storage. Everything is very clean (do housekeeping). The air conditioning worked perfect too. It has a nice pool and lounge chairs to spend the afternoon. This short walk from the beach and main attractions in Miami Beach. If you're not looking for all inclusive resorts, I recommend this as a great alternative.

Was woken up from the wonderful aroma of the delicious coffee being brewed freshly every morning that they serve complimentary for the guests. Another thing I loved is that they're pet friendly. We brought our pug and they provided us with a doggy bed, which was a really nice extra gesture. Ever since I checked in, the ambiance of the hotel is friendly and inviting and their cozy courtyard reflects that as well.  The room was very chic and modern. Considering the fact that I would sometimes leave my dog in the room, the housekeepers still cleaned my room properly. Only thing that was a con was the noise coming from the garbage trucks in the mornings causing my dog to bark, but I understand the hotel does not have control over that. The staff although, definitely makes up for that. Valet is not that great cause it does take some time for your car to be brought up, but it wasn't that big of a deal since thankfully I wasn't in a rush. Till next time Metropole! :)

    Where to begin..
    1. I was SO EXCITED to stay here!
    2. I called ahead of time to see what kind of beds we would be getting because we booked it through priceline, so you never know. I called and they said "Standard 2 queen beds." I said great! Get there and its one king bed a one queen bed...but only it wasn't a queen bed it was a queen sized pull out couch lol not nearly as comfy as a bed.
    3. As much money as people pay to stay there, they do not offer a complimentary breakfast. They did offer a social hour down the street. They should do the same for breakfast since their facility has no room.
    4. The floors crunch as u walk and its like you're walking on waves as you walk to your room. Didn't feel safe at all and like I said it's squeaky and thin, so definitely request the top floor because we heard our upstairs neighbors all night.
    5. I understand they're located in a popular area, so it will be more noisy. Taking that into consideration they should invest in soundproof windows because getting woken up by the garbage trucks in the ally at 5am was terrible.
    6. For the sofa bed they said there were blankets in the closet. No blankets. Called down to request some. 30 min later called again bc nobody came and they finally showed up.
    7. Air conditioner was louddddd.
    8. Online it appears that they have a nice sized pool and you get there and it's about the size of a hot tub.
All in all I would never ever pay full price for this place.
    Then to the positives...
    1. Great location.
    2. Across from a parking garage that was $1 an hour.
    3. I liked the somewhat modern-looking setup.

Booked a cheap room here on hoteltonight the morning of our stay. The hotel is right across the street from a garage on 7th and Collins that's is $1/hr with max $20 per day. Hotel is in a great location for beach and going out. The hotel itself is small but nice. Def not a pool worth using but there's the beach right there. The staff were all really nice. The room itself was way nicer than we expected. Full kitchen, pullout couch, king bed and everything in the place was new and clean. I would highly recommend this place I think we got a hell of a deal. Also the jersey shore was filmed here soooo

I am not one to review hotels or restaurants, but I have to share this because these guys really screwed us over. Checking in was fine, we were told we were moved to a "better room" which we thought was great.. The room was cheaply modernized, but ok, we were just staying the night-nothing scary. The shower was weird, no real door and no-where to put your toiletries. Whatever, all stuff that can be overlooked.

    1) This place does not feel safe at all...
Around 1 AM we were woken up by EXTREMELY loud banging upstairs. We thought someone was moving furniture it was so loud. No one was yelling but it was apparent that someone that was not staying in the hotel had gotten in and was disturbing everyone. This went on for over an hour. It was pretty scary actually... No one working in the hotel did anything about this.

    2) 4-5 AM, garbage trucks came down the alley and did their pick-ups. Normally this would not bother us, but it was non-stop for over an hour as well, wtf they were doing out there, who knows. That was just terrible.

    3) This is the kicker - at SEVEN AM, construction starts. I am not talking loud beeps and guys yelling, I am talking a jackhammer, at SEVEN AM!
Luckily, we were getting up early to get on the road, but no one told us there was construction going on. It would have been nice to know that!

As we were checking out, we told the lady at the front desk and she could have cared less. We called Hotel Tonight, the site we got the room from and they contacted the same woman concierge we had spoken to and apparently she was abrasive from the get go and refused to acknowledge our bad experience. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just BAD. I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Bummer man, for the price, this was really disappointing.

Was here just 2 weeks ago during Miami music week. Small cute hotel if you aren't looking for anything fancy. My flight back home was late Sunday night and they were nice enough to hold my bags all day on Sunday when I had to check out until I came back right before I went to the airport.
2 blocks from Wet Willies, down the block from Ocean Drive & the beach. I mean, you're in South Beach, you're not going to be in the hotel THAT much.
Our view of the beach was partly blocked by a little bit of a construction site i believe, and there are garbage trucks outside at 5am. so be aware that if you're going to sleep at that time....sorry, but the city needs to their job lol - took off half star for that, and another half star for..... :
we stayed here Thurs-Sat night. We wanted our room cleaned Saturday. We left the do not disturb sign letting them know they could clean it. Left the room for about 4 hrs, came back.. still not clean. ok I understand it takes time to clean the rooms but when we came back to the room we needed toilet paper and towels. They told us we had to tell them to clean the room. Tell them? that's why the sign was turned to the side LETTING you know. I was annoyed at that. I'm not going to hunt down cleaning people on my vacation away from my job telling you to do your job.
Other than that - not a bad stay. Like I said... Miami music week. you aren't in the room other than getting ready and shower/sleep.

The rooms are VERY spacious with a ton of amenities including a fantastic staff, beautifully decorated rooms, and a beautiful courtyard. The hotel will hold your bags if you're early and the bell hop was very helpful.
