Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach, is a contemporary-classic hotel occupying a 1930s building overlooking America's most iconic beach. Situated on Collins Avenue in the Historic District, the hotel's rooms command stunning Atlantic views; others look towards the Intracoastal Waterway to the west. Interiors are by Italian designer Paola Navone, who has combined the Art Deco heritage with shades of peppermint green and dusky grey, cool white marble and shining chrome. Traymore, Metropolitan Miami Beach's vibrant restaurant, serves classic Floridian seafood, while the Traymore Bar specialises in artisanal gins.     My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The management and staff are top class and it starts with their leader, Javier. There were minor issues with our reservation, however Javier took care of the problem immediately and went above and beyond to insure our stay would be nothing less than exceptional. The front desk staff was always courteous and professional. The restaurant food was absolutely perfect. The menu is simple, with carefully selected items. We had breakfast and dinner during our stay. Both meals were an adventure for the palate that left one plenty satisfied. The pastry chef is exceptionally talented. We enjoyed dessert and of course the mid afternoon pastry samples delivered to the room only added to our culinary enjoyment. During the day we enjoyed poolside fare including natural juices that serve to hydrate and cleanse the system. All in all, this was the perfect escape for us from the harsh Midwest winter. We returned home feeling well rested, well fed and re-energized. No doubt, this will be our go to place for future anniversary celebrations.

    The Hotel is first class.  The staff is very attentive and caters to its guests.  The room was fabulous.  Everywhere we went you could tell that the appearance of the hotel mattered.  One thing they could improve upon is transportation information.

    WASTE OF MONEY, TERRIBLE SERVICE-
    Where to start? So many reasons my Fiancé and I are disappointed with this place.
    1) Terrible service and long waits between courses at their "great restaurant" - do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere- there is way better food at competitors for more reasonable prices
    2.)House weeping at 8am- it's a vacation- ever think that perhaps people are sleeping or at least still leisurely getting ready at that time? Same goes for "turn down service" which was literally someone knocking at 5:30pm when we were dressing for dinner asking if we wanted a $$ bottle of water.
    3.) The rooms- no privacy/sound berried- every time anyone in the same hallway opened or closed their doors it echoed through our room- same goes for talking, the tv in the neighboring room, and the staff going around knocking on doors for house keeping.
    4. Fake "Eco" hotel- they waste energy and resources left and right- no recycling, changing sheets ever 2 days, plastic cups at the pool, lights on in the rooms whenever room service is in, the list goes on.
    5.) They will gladly rent you a beach chair or umbrella - only it isn't mentioned or posted anywhere- and no staff was down at the beach, so after standing around for 10 min we got our own towels and spread out on chairs- at which point the staff appeared and asked us to move to different chairs because those ones were for rent- we asked for some source of shade and the staffer replied he could rent us an umbrella for $25 for the day- it was 3PM !!!!!!  We left the beach and went back to our echoing room and just napped until dinner....

    OVERALL VASTLY DISSAPOINTING - I WILL NOT BE BACK & WOULD DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM WASTING THEIR TIME HERE.

    This is my third time here, I have had dinner and brunch so far. The food is exceptional as well as the service. The restaurant is located right next to where guests check in. The pool area is also super modern with a really superb pool bar.

    A beautiful boutique hotel in South Beach with amazing service to boot. So happy to have found this gem and I can't wait for our next visit! I tried the spa, restaurant and bar services too and it all was good - especially if you like having everything in one place while you are away on a short trip, and don't want to have to waste time running around because you are too busy lazing around by their fabulous pool.

    This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at, the hotel was beautiful, service was impeccable! Everybody was so friendly and helpful. I loved that everybody spoke Spanish I felt very at home, the only thing I didn't really care for was the restaurant, it's good but ver small portions I would say other than that it was an amazing experience we will be back.

    What a great hotel.  This new boutique hotel in South Beach really caters to it's guests and knows service.

    Check in was a breeze as the receptionist checked us in. Upgraded our room because we were on our honeymoon!, then gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us up to our room.  Once inside, she showed us the amenities and then was on her way.  Check in took all of 20 min but really started us off on the right foot with this hotel.

    The pool and beach access for this hotel are phenomenal, as are the attendants along the way.  From the pool to the beach, we were constantly asked if everything was ok and offered tremendous service.

    The hotel offers free chairs for guests on the beach and they offer umbrellas and day beds for an extra charge.  We found the chairs to be perfect.  

    For those less inclined to go the water, pool side was spectacular with a refreshing pool and a cool bar offering good drinks and food.

    We ordered room service a couple of times and while they were prompt to deliver, the food at times tasted a little bland and left something to be desired.  In fact, when we mentioned this on a follow up order, they just threw some salt onto the fried chicken we ordered and called it a day.  Definitely not their brightest moment, but something that can be overlooked given how great everything else was.

    We did not get to use the spa but they had specials running for Miami Spice week and the cost for services without the discounts was typical for hotel spas.

    One other recommendation may be for the concierge.  The concierge needs a little upgrade.  It may have been the time of day we were looking for some info, but we asked the front desk for information on boat rentals and after a 3 second blank stare, the receptionist pulled out a laminated sheet consisting of ultra expensive yachts.  Not exactly what I was looking for, so some development in this area might help.

    We would definitely stay here again.  The hotel is located directly in the middle of Collins Ave between Ocean Drive and the behemoth Fontainebleau.  

    For those wanting a great hotel at good prices, you would be hard pressed to find something better.

    Thanks to Elena, the most amazing reservation specialist who went the extra mile to insure my boyfriend and I had the most memorable birthday weekend. We had a king suite  (room 609) with ocean views. The furnishings are modern and cool. The apothocaries, wonderful and the bedding, oh so comfy. A delicious Halloween chocolate truffle birthday cake greeted our arrival. We ate it all up..super yummy.  We spent the afternoon at the pool and were treated like royalty by Fernando. Great cocktails and a super pool vibe. There are cozy  poolside beds that can be reserved with a 100 minimum drink/food bill. Had we spent the day here, it would have been a viable option but we only spent an hour (and our bill was over 50.00, so another round and we would made the minimum.

    The bellmen, chamber maids and front end staff were top notch. Every attention  to detail is attended to at Metropolitan COMO. Oh the roof top spa is heaven. We did not have time to enjoy but next time. We swam at the beach. It was so wam and welcoming. If you want to walk for miles on white sand, come enjoy. Oh, the boardwalk in front is perfect for those who run, jog or power walk.

    10 stars for location; away from the madness yet a short walk to everything.

    I fell in love more with my boyfriend over our romantic weekend and fell in love with this super amazing boutique hotel. A special thanks Javier Beneyto, the most attentive manager and to all at MC.

    I am really picky about hotels.  When traveling, I insist on choosing the hotel.  For this trip, I created a spreadsheet of the highest rated hotels in South Beach & did my research on Yelp.  I booked Metropolitan by Como because it had everything we wanted at a great price.  Also, unlike the older & more expensive hotels, this hotel was newly renovated.  

    From the moment we arrived, our experience was perfect!  The entire staff was so polite & friendly.  The room was spotless with modern design.  We had a huge balcony with an ocean view. The best part was the gorgeous pools!  The views from the rooftop hydrotherapy pool were to die for.. and for most of the day I had it all to myself!  The main pool on the beach was clean, quiet and peaceful with beautiful modern design. Although we didn't eat at the bar by the pool, the menu looked amazing!  Cocktails are made with organic juices & the food selections looked healthy and delicious.  The location is perfect, it's on the beach & there is a Citybike rental station right outside the hotel.

    If you want obnoxious music, drunk hotel guests & a tacky crowded party atmosphere this is not the place for you.  If you want a sexy, romantic, inspiring, relaxing stay in Miami, this hotel is perfect.  I will definitely be back!
