Room was huge, felt like a 1-bedroom apartment!  I loved the shower because there was a mini chandelier in it that doubled as a rain shower head, as well as an additional small "wand", and a full length mirror.  Probably the coolest shower I've ever seen!  I did not have any issues with the service like some of the other reviewers, thankfully.  They actually brought us 2 things that we left in the car without a hassle, and very promptly.  We spent a day at the pool when we arrived and were given chairs facing the bay, which was different and enjoyable.  The pool itself was a good temperature, but running from the chairs to the pool burned the bottom of my feet!  I had an excellent Cuban sandwich for lunch with a creative twist, it had duck confit and a japanese mustard on it, and the bread was delicious!  You just have to eat Cuban sandwiches in Miami, everything else is just an imitation.  I didn't mind being off the beaten path a little, it was too hot to walk anywhere so taking a cab suited me just fine :)

I stayed here for a friend's earlier this year. While everyone else booked on the hotel's website, I got a cheaper rate via getaroom.com . This hotel offers some of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean, downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay you'll find anywhere. As others have noted, the all-white decor is eye-catching yet unoriginal -- I've lost count of all the South Beach hotels I've frequented that employ the same scheme. My room was SUPER comfortable. I'd definitely come back again in the near future -- that is, if I am not looking for something of the budget hotel variety.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Mondrian, for only one night. The staff was incredibly courteous and gracious. They allowed us to check in early, and wait by the pool for our room to be ready. They called us when it was ready and we were lead up to the most fantastic two bedroom bay view suite overlooking the skyline and pool. The suite was enormous and even came with a kitchen and living room. Definitely enough room to start a party in.
It was one of the nicest and largest rooms I've ever stayed in.
The pool scene was super relaxing and since it's location is a bit removed from directly on South Beach, I thought the clientele was a bit more sophisticated. The drinks were fantastic, although expensive.
Luis at the Concierge really knew what was going on that night and gave us some good recommendations for clubs, and when we went, had one of the best nights going out ever!
There wasn't one hiccup to the weekend my friends and I had in Miami, and I thank the Mondrian for that!

What an incredible vacation!  I went to vacation in May 2011 at the Mondrian, Miami.  I had been to the Mondrian in Hollywood and was excited in anticipation to have a similar experience in Miami, South Beach.   My experience in South Beach was so much more incredible.   Upon arriving to the hotel, I was met by a wonderful staff that seemed authentic in their greeting.  The rooms are unique with functional style, and clean, clean, clean.  I loved the kitchen with the perfect feel of home.  I knew I could make this my home away from home for the next week in Miami.  Although Mondrian is on the western edge of south beach, I much prefer this over to the more popular eastern side of south beach.  For one, the view of the city is amazing, which only becomes more spectacular at night.  The eastern edge has the ocean view, but that's it, and at night there is no interesting skyline, and no fabulous sunset.  Let me tell you about the best part, the service is amazing.  Coming from a small city in northern California, I felt like a celebrity at the Mondrian, Miami.  Everyone was personable!  I felt like Norm from the TV series "Cheers".  Everybody knew my name.  Was this normal for a hotel experience?  I don't know, but you better believe, I coming back here, over and over again.  This has become my number one vacation spot.  Mondrian, Miami is highly recommended in my book.

I wanted to love this place.  I like swanky/exclusive type places.  I'm not even bothered by the "I'm better and more beautiful than you" attitude - I'm from NYC and I'm used to it.  The pool area is beautiful and the hotel decor is fun and very funky.  There were just SO many things wrong with this place that I couldn't love it and really wouldn't recommend it.  First, $37 for a valet?  It's cheaper to park in NYC, which really says something.  Also, despite the attention that was clearly put into the decor, a bunch of things were just off.  Our ceiling was covered in dust.  The sinks were scratched and stained.  The sheets were a VERY low thread count and were scratchy, as were the towels.  The Malin and Goetz toiletries in the bathrooms were only half full.  When you're nickel and dime-ing your customers (no free wifi?  how is that even possible in 2012?), it's pretty tacky not to provide a truly first class experience.  It also took us three people to get a straight answer about whether we could check out later and if so, whether we would be charged.  However, no one thought to mention that the keys reset at noon, the original check out time.  So, with a flight to catch, we then could not get in our room.  The elevators are extremely slow and it took us a while to get down to the front desk, at which point they had trouble reprogramming the key.  They got it eventually, but with the pressure of catching our flight, it really was a headache that was just unnecessary.  The people were nice throughout all these annoyances, but it did not really make up for the fact that so many things were off.  With the price you'll pay to stay here, both for the room and the annoyances, you'd be better off elsewhere.

The Mondrian is a terrific Miami South Beach hotel for a special occasion. My wife and I stayed here for a night on our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful place to recuperate and enjoy the proximity to all of South Beach's amenities. The hotel was renovated in 2008, (yep--horrible timing for the credit cash, but that means it is new and you can get deals from the new owners), and the decor is what I would classify as 'Over the top Miami Modern Sleek Chic'. The lobby is open, smooth, with high ceilings and two bars that serve the delicious Asia Cuba cuisine. The lobby opens up on to an expansive tear drop pool area with plenty of sun chairs, dining tables, a bar in the round, and views overlooking the canal, Star Island and Miami proper's skyline. The scenery was punctuated by the quintessentially hilarious cast of Miami characters that ranged from sculpted Russian and Latin American beauties, to wanna be Hip Hop impresarios, and casts offs from season ocho of plastic surgery fueled "Real Housewives of Miami.' Both the people watching and conversation eavesdropping is worth the entertainment of the stay itself. After you enjoy a few mojitos and rum punches out in the sun and nice dip in the pool, you can retire to your room where it is easy to take in a quiet respite in a sleek modern retreat. If you can get a deal on living social or orbitz this place is a steal.

I lost count of how many 'all white' venues there are in Miami? Did we need another one? The Mondrian is, shall I say, overdone and overpriced. Asia de Cuba, one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, gives the hotel a brownie point or two, but come on! Can you recall a hotel that has, not one but two lines, for guests and patrons to stand and wait to be selected? Once you're chosen, you have two choices, inside bar or outside bar. Both are beautiful, don't misunderstand me, but do we have to have another pretentious place in this wonderful city? Can we get  beautiful atmosphere and good customer service? Side note: Sunday afternoon is a perfect time to go for lunch.

Complete fan. Beds are critical when traveling, low bed in height so hard for those with bad legs or backs, BUT when your in it, doesn't matter. Down comforter and pillows, crisp white sheets, cute yellow and comfy chair in a one bedroom suite, lots of closet space, flat screen and ipod stereo/charger docking station, living room has a vintage type couch that I didn't care for, flat screen tv, gorgeous city or bay views, kitchen is convenient with utensils, a small stove, sink...bathroom is clean, a little small, but the chandelier is a shower head and you have a mobile shower head to wash your shaved legs, or hair thoroughly. The bar on Friday night turns into a club and is super hot ans sexy! Asia de Cuba is yummy too, the pool is to die for, the beds by the pool, the view of the bay and star island and the city, the gym is great and overlooks the bay and city, in walking distance of a lot of stuff, far enough away from south beach to avoid the traffic and crazy people, calm area for a nice evening after dinner stroll, super cute all the way around. Service was great, And they have deals too! Sunday there's a pool party from 2-6pm.

Loved the staff, the Asian Cuban fusion resturant is amazing. The views perfect, beds comfy. Rooms huge. Only reason i didn't give it 5 stars were 1) crappy lifting in bathroom. A guy designed for sure 2) no q-tips or shower caps which given the deluge shower u really need, again must be a guy decision, and... R u kidding me??? $37.50 a night parking???  Really?  Anyway. Loved the place and that lychee drink thingy is amazing

Overrated, overpriced, messy, horrible service and just a total pain in the ass to get around.  Too many meathead bouncers all over the place and the bartenders are awful.  It's a pretty hotel but I think it's overrated in the design department and it brings chaos to a nice quiet street like West Ave.  I hope this hotel just goes away.  It kills the chill natured character that a neighborhood like West has.  Go away already!

Honestly where else can you buy a Bentley from a vending machine? Yup you guest it The Mondrian! Have you guys scene this thing? It is the coolest vending machine I have ever scene. You can buy a suit, trips, Rolexes, you name it they got it. This place is very poshy!! Which makes it so cool. I really like the outside pool area especially around sunset good music nice mixture of drinks makes it a great Way to conclude your day. This place is cool but they try way too hard to make it ultra exclusive ( I guess that word is somewhat appropriate) bottom line it gets annoying after 23.5 minutes!

this review is combining the spa, hotel, pool and asia de cuba...considering if you came here for the day thats probably what you would do...

the mondrian is beautiful; everything is sleek, white, and sassy. The pool is really nice and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC on SUNDAY. I think thats really nice and a great promotional idea... they had a BBQ available (which looked and smelled WAY better than Asia de  cuba) which we will get too...the pool has a wonderful scene, its on the water.

on to the spa-we had a couples massage which they basically cant accomadate with two female employees. I think in the real world you have to be smart enough to realize that in spa servies, healthcare, beauty services; most people prefer FEMALE technicians...so anyway we had the massages which were lovely and then used the spa it was small but very nice, clean, provided a sauna, steam room, shower, and robes, slippers

asia de cuba or asia de terrible. I have been served a better mass produced brunch at my hospital which has pretty terrible cafeteria food. that brunch was disgusting, even the fresh omelette station had messed up, the eggs were tasteless, all of their meat was dry, rubbery and frankly unappetizing cuts. I asked the manger to just uncharge me, bc i tried three different times to FIND SOMETHING I COULD EAT...i certaintly wasnt going to pay 50$ for a salad which was barely their saving grace. Come on, if your going to have a brunch ALL day long REFRESH the food, how dare a restaraunt leave their food under hot lamps like that, I cant stress it was by far the worst food Ive been served in a long time.  now I do not know how their regular menu tastes and i certainly wouldnt attempt to find out...ps the waiter didnt look surprised or even slightly upset when we asked for the manager, meaning it happens often...ppl a freaking burger king breakfast would taste better...this is basically the worst review ive given a business

i wouldnt come here again cos id like to eat fabulous food at a fabulous hotel and have a fabulous spa experiance, which the mondrian lacks....

I had a wonderful time at this beautiful establishment!  Although there were a few issues checking in a 4pm with the room not being ready it was not the hotels fault but the Elite service we used that rents the condos.  We were given an opportunity for a better room which was even better.  The hotel view is amazing along with the relaxing poolside.  It is expensive with drinks (sex on the beach $16.00).  The staff was very pleasant and helpful.  The workout area was awesome, everything you need is there!  It was only about $5.00 in a cab to southbeach and if you enjoy walking it should only take about 20-30 minutes.  I highly recommend this hotel!

My 3-night stay with my fiancee began and ended poorly;  everything in between was average to good.

After checking in, we headed into the elevator to our room on the 9th floor.  A woman who seemed mildly distraught was also in the elevator, and she asked us, "Does this place call itself a 5-star hotel?  The beds have air mattresses on them."  Uh oh.

When we got to our room, we were glad to see that the mattresses were not full of air.  They were fairly soft, but I didn't have a problem with them.  I might have been expected to, since I sleep on a very firm bed at home, but the mattress was fine with me.  (It would have been nice if the beds came with a blanket, as opposed to just a comforter.)

The TV is fairly nice for a hotel room and an on-screen guide comes with the cable service, like you use at home.  (Figuring out what's on what channel is sometimes frustrating when staying at hotels, and the upgraded cable service was a nice touch.)

The room itself was a bit strange.  There is a big picture of an odd-looking woman staring at you on one wall.  I'm sure it's a central part of their theme, but I found it disturbing.  I woke up in the middle of the night and for a second  thought the Devil was staring at me from the wall.

The shower, as others have pointed out, is aesthetically beautiful.  However, the shower curtain doesn't reach all the way to the floor, and there is a about a 1/2-inch barrier separating the shower floor from the bathroom floor.  This inevitably leads to a significant amount of water being spilled from the shower onto the bathroom floor.  Eventually, we laid out about half of the towels to soak up the water.  I hope this was a design flaw of our particular room only.

Overall, the room was not my style.  When I'm on the road, I prefer rooms that are cozy, elegant, and also functional; the Mondrian tries far too hard to be "hip" at the expense of these things.    (For point of reference, my favorite luxury hotels are the Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons;  my favorite 3.5-4 star hotel is the Hilton.)  I can easily understand why someone else's preferences might differ, though -- the Mondrian room is surely more "fun" than a room at the Four Seasons.

The location of the hotel was fine with me.  There's relatively little to do in the immediate area, which means you have to walk a few blocks to get anywhere, and you have to walk about a mile to get to the beach.  The weather was gorgeous when we were there, so we didn't mind the strolls to Lincoln Road or to Ocean Drive.  If the weather weren't so nice, the location would be a significant drawback.

Regarding the hotel culture, as others have pointed out, there are many well-dressed people strolling about.  I'm perfectly comfortable in my plaid shorts and beat-up college T-shirt, so perhaps I didn't exactly fit in.  Also, I believe that no self-respecting male should wear crotch-grabbing jeans or polo shirts that are two sizes small.  There was much of this to be seen in the Mondrian, although that probably says more about South Beach than the hotel.  On the flip side, I will add that there were many beautiful women in the hotel (fiancee, if you are reading this, I didn't actually look;  other people  told me the women were beautiful).

Although I think this hotel has some shortcomings and I was a bit disappointed for the first hour or so, overall I had a pleasant stay.  When we checked out, I thought I was overcharged for some parking (the manager had lied to us, offering a reduced rate to park on the day we checked in but then withdrawing that special rate when we checked out).  That undoubtedly soured my experience, and I won't  go to this hotel again.  However, I think this hotel could be a good choice for people who want to stay where the cool and hip come to party.  Also, it seemed like there were a decent number of groups of 20-something girls who shared rooms and partied.  They seemed to be having a good time, so perhaps this is a good getaway spot for the college female crowd.  But if you just want to experience the best the hotel has to offer, get a drink in the bar area and stay overnight somewhere else -- you won't be missing anything special and can easily do better with the cash involved.

    Good points

    - Pool and gym areas have wonderful view
    - Significant attention to minor but important details (Bose speakers, cable TV guide)

    Bad points

    - Shower is aesthetically pleasing but functionally deficient, leading to flooded bathroom floor
    - Guest service is mixed;  some employees extremely friendly and helpful, others borderline incompetent, condescending, and rude
    - Tries too hard to be hip (imho)

This hotel is weird. I don't even know how to explain it. Yes, it's luxury...and it seems pretty exclusive. A lot of local personalities come to use the pool. Lots of skinny, big lipped, big boobed ladies (FYI-topless sunbathing allowed at the pool) and skinny, muscle-y guys. There's a modeling agency on site. The pool bar area is beautiful. The gym was great. The staff  was nice and about 50/50 helpful.

The room was cute. There was a weird lady head on the wall. I think all the rooms have kitchens: cook top, fridge, microwave. Mini bar. But no place to put my clothes! No dresser, no drawers. I had a closet but no hangers. And no luggage rack. The food (room service, and hotel restaurant) was amazing. No bedside clock, no way to play music in your room (which actually might be a blessing as the room floors can get rowdy at night towards the weekend). As a reviewer commented earlier, my toiletries were half full. My first morning there, I dropped a glass on the floor (they're wood-like hard floors). The room service guy was great helping clean it up. He requested housekeeping to come by to clean it up further. They never showed up. I requested them again, with my hangers and luggage rack at the front desk and none of it happened. I ended up using a face cloth to swipe around the kitchen area to make sure all the glass was out of the way.

I was co-running a work event in one of their meeting rooms. The staff, while friendly and accommodating, were kind of hands off. No checking in and hard to get a hold of.

So, weird, yes. But overall nice. Maybe it's a Miami "relaxed" attitude or the hotel's culture to eschew traditional hotel formality.

Bonus: Whole Foods is around the corner

Thought that this was such a unique place in South Beach.  The DJ played more hip hop than most others in the area (next to none.)  But they also mixed it up well throughout the night.

And the outdoor pool/bay views were really something.  It was nice to be able to leave the bar area for a smoke and a little conversation maybe with a cutie.

I think that Mondrian doesn't get mentioned as much as some of the more famous venues (maybe because they play some hip hop?) but that's exactly why I loved it.

Get a chair under the palm trees and overlooking Miami Bay.  Put on a little lotion, sip one of the delicious (though pricey) cocktails from the pool bar, and pretend you're in Miami Vice.  This is the best spot for sunbathing.  Pool scene is fun too.

Ok so the décor might not be everyone taste but everyone can agree it is decorated beautifully. I could have dealt without the huge pictures of anime type of girls faces on the walls but hey, I can roll with it. We stayed in a suite for my birthday weekend and it was gorgeous. I will agree with others that Dave who works the pool is the hardest worker there. He set me up every single day by 9:00 am and reserved the spot I liked right next to my cabana. He was awesome. Holly was an amazing waitress also. Although every single staff member bent over backwards to accommodate and make our stay memorable, those are the ones who stick out in my mind. They even sent of champagne, strawberries and a HUGE slice of cake for my birthday with a handwritten note saying 'happy birthday Angel" SWEET SWEET SWEET!
The concierge Luis, got us into amazing clubs every night without waiting on those horrendous lines. We ate at so many places but the 2 that stick out in my mind are Asia de Cuba and Casa Tua. Asia de Cuba was delicious and had amazing drinks, amazing service and fantastic menu but Casa Tua which is impossible to get into (the concierge pulled some string here) Casa Tua was an experience I won't be able to describe as well as it deserves. It was hands down the best food I have ever had and let's face it I am from NYC, I know good food. Atmosphere was really beautiful. They even had pictures of celebrities in some very compromising positions (you have to see it to believe it, tastefully done of course). I cannot say enough good things about this place, you just have to experience it so if you get the chance RUN, don't walk.

Went to the Mondrian to have some cocktails and just relax. The pool / bar area is one of the few places in South Beach where you can watch the sun set. The drinks are expensive but stiff and you definitely get your money's worth. Definitely worth spending the afternoon here. Check it out.

This is one of those super trendy, edgy, yet luxurious hotels... in other words: PRICEY! We scored a great rate here by some luck and had the wonderful opportunity of staying here during our first time in South Beach.

The valet guys and front desk people were super nice, helpful and informative. The pool was area was very nice and we enjoyed the view of downtown Miami despite not having a beach area. This place is definitely not for families!

Our room came equipped with a small kitchen with utensils, stove, microwave, tea kettle, bowls, plates (but no pots and pans for actual cooking). The usual freaky barbie face that can be found in the lobby was in our room as well. Each room comes equipped with flat screen and TIVO !! as well as a Bose ipod dock, which comes in handy when getting ready for a night out in the town...

but the best part of the room was the SHOWER!!! my gfs and I fell in love with their shower! it was a rainbath equipped shower head that was attached to the chandelier lighting in the ceiling of the shower. It also had an option to change it to handheld for ehh..hard to reach areas? Anyways it was a wonderful showering experience due to the rainbath head, pressure and water softness... LOVED it!

They do, however, get a negative star primarily for the hotel's location. It would have been a lot easier had there been little shops/restaurants located walking distance from the hotel. Oh and their lychee-elderflower capriniha that the cocktail waitress raved about was pricey, super sweet and no lychee taste to it!!! where was the lychee?!?!?! that was another big disappointment...

Stayed three nights at the Mondrian, and had one of the most relaxing getaways ever.  As mentioned in other reviews, the room was immaculate, spacious and so, so comfortable.  Felt like a little apartment.  The pool area is GORGEOUS (I never understood why people in beach towns choose to hang by the pool when the ocean is so close... until now).  We lounged so lazily by the pool for three days, sippin' on the DELICIOUS chili-passion caipirinhas (I was hooked, even at $16 a pop).  We found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and attentive, and we'd definitely consider staying here again.

I wish they'd get rid of the freaky picture of the all-seeing, all-knowing fairy-looking chick plastered everywhere.  If I'd had some duct tape, I might have been tempted to cover her face with a pillow case or something, but we learned to avoid eye contact with her and ignore her all together.

Sooo, here's why the "4 stars" and not 5:

1 - It's a pricey hotel, so it seems a little ridiculous to be charging patrons $15 a day for wireless.  If the little Mom and Pop boutiques near Ocean Drive are offering free WiFi, I can't imagine how the Mondrian can justify this charge.  Oh, and if you opt use their business center to print out your boarding pass, it's someting like $6.95 for 15 minutes of internet access and a per-page fee to print -- the price itself is not the issue, it's the principle.  I typically call the concierge and ask them to print out my boarding passes, so I was surprised to be referred to the business center and to discover that there was a charge, on top of that.

2 - Upon check-in, the hotel staff mentioned that one of the perks at this hotel was access to the "sister hotel", Delano.  I was slightly embarrassed to find out that the Delano staff did not seem aware of this partnership:  We spoke with the pool concierge who assured us that we would be allowed access back into the pool area at the Delano from the beach, since the gate requires a Delano key card to enter (She told us to flag down one of the servers to let us back in).  Even then, once we tried re-entering the pool area, we had to explain ourselves once again (once I mentioned the concierge's name, he opened the door for us).  Again, a little embarrassing if not inconvenient.

If you are lucky enough to have the view on the water, it's breathtaking. We had a penthouse facing the celebrities Island and the Miami skyline in the back, it was just gorgeous. Beautiful art deco hotel, on the slower part of Miami Beach. No non-sense blasting music and micro skirts walking around for the show. Just elegance and class. Food was also great, and they have an amazing outdoor (swimming pool, cabanas) area.

One thing could have been better... the room could have been a little cleaner. We were less than impress by the cleaning crew, and we had a leak on the bathroom sink. I would have definitely said something to them if I hadn't paid half the regular price through Priceline. For $400/night (reg price tag), you expect spotless.

ok, so I have stayed here twice.  The first time was not a shining moment for the front desk.  They were so rude I wrote the manager and told them how disappointed I was in there attitudes.  I mean, come on people I know this is Miami but really??
The manager asked me to please give them another try, which I reluctantly did and low and behold a 180 degree turn in the greeting procedure at front desk.  I wasn't sure if the girls at the front had been for warned  I was coming or what but definitely a different experience the second time around.  (They must of got an ass whoopin from the manager...)
This time I was able to enjoy the pool and bar.  What an amazing hotel.  The staff, other than front desk is unbelievable.  A five star experience for certain.  The rooms are fantastic and kitschy.  In the lobby is the most beautiful stairwell I have ever seen.  Very whimsical feel to the hotel.
Front desk is the only weak link in the place.  I just think they are a little young and to "comfortable"  Not sure if that translates??  Basically a lack of real genuine customer service.
I would definitely come back though.

Beautiful hotel that I have visited before for parties, but decided to stay.  Room was beautiful and luxurious, but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.  The food was fantastic, but service was very difficult to get.  They are very friendly when they come, just getting them is almost impossible.  This was also true of room service.
At the pool and yes it is AMAZING, I wanted to rent a cabana for 2 of us, but being a hotel guest, even on a Sunday afternoon with a majority of the cabanas empty, gets you nothing!!!  Guest or not, you have to agree to spend $500 at the bar to get a cabana.  CRAZY!!!
Overall, I have stayed at much nicer places for the money.

Pros- we found the customer service to be very good and the entire staff was helpful with all of our requests during our stay.

    - our room was very roomy and had a great view of the bay

Cons- at $300 plus a night there are much better options in SOBE

    - we found the hotel, especially the common areas and elevators to be dated and worn

    - not a great area, it's on the bay not the beach, and is a cab ride to the action

    - there prices are ridiculous, $10 for a bottle of water!  I know it's Miami but come on, not unless there's some Vodka mixed in there

    - $15 a day for WiFi

First time in Miami but i stayed in a bunch of hotels.  This place was one of the best.  We stayed in one of the studios facing the pool/miami city.  IT was just amazing. the decor the everything!!.

The Receptionist was super nice, i forgot my phone charger but they just offered to leave my phone there to charge.

the concierge, I believe Lisa was very Helpful and nice and great.  Also got me a good deal on a scooter for the weekend:)

the pool boys and waitresses by the pool are great, you ask for anything and they will bring it with a smile on their faces.

Love the way they layout out the pool area and hang out areas.

the room itself was amazing.  dig the bathroom sink design as well as the rain shower.

Room service and cleaning service is top notch.

Decent fitness center, everything is a little clumped together but all very nice.

I would come back to this place because it was a great experience.

This place is the best place I've ever say at!!! Location is amazing it's really close to the beach it's like a 5 minute car ride to Ocean Drive well that's in is it's right around the corner walking distance from Whole Foods Market it has the kitchen so you can cook and the view of the bay is spectacular. I had an amazing time the staff was wonderful they're very helpful the rooms are extremely clean and the bed is comfortable a little on the firm side. They're excellent customer service at this hotel if anything is wrong they will do anything to help you and make sure that it is right. We had a robe in the room that smells like mold due to the washing and probably not allowing it to dry. When I contacted the front desk Emar ,the manager answered the phone and he was very helpful and very nice he said okay I'm sorry I will upgrade you to 1 bedroom suite for the rest of your stay and give you a complimentary breakfast it was that simple he was nice to us the entire time making sure that everything was perfect. But tell it self is absolutely gorgeous inside and out I love the decor in the room the view of the pool was amazing the pool parties on Sundays are a lot of fun the food is excellent best food I had in Miami for my entire stay. Metered parking across the street and there's a parking garage down the street very close that I never had to pay for the parking at the hotel. I love this place and will stay there every single time I visit Miami because of the locations in the customer service. Another benefit is it has to sister hotels I'm close to the beach that you can use their beach access towels and stuff. Recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

Bad choice. Too far away from the beach and Lincoln St. Unpleasant decoration, things just do not make sense. $38 p/night for parking. Every time we took a shower the bathroom was flooded because there wasn't a good barrier to lead the water to the drain. The refrigerator was stuffed with expensive beverages and snacks ($8 a beer). No space for my stuff in there. No courtesy water or snacks (all the other places provided it for us in our trip around Florida). Expensive cocktails around the pool, which was surrounded by empty cups and pieces of lime in the end of the day. The only thing I liked was the attendants, all of them very polite. Too expensive for what they offer.

Two stars for value and I wouldn't care to go back.  This review's based on a visit to the bar and does not reflect an actual stay.

We went for drinks at the sunset lounge and was thoroughly underwhelmed.  The locale is a beautiful, overdone white expanse with big everything - columns, doors, vaulted ceilings.  Annoyingly nice looking and annoyingly cool.  As pretty as the place was, I could not shake the feeling of being had, and that the place came across as formulaic (which it is, but I digress).  The exterior ambiance is also very nice, and a bit less sanitized, but it still feels like a stiff artificial "man over nature Brave New World" sort of place.  On to the bar.

Bartenders  were actually friendly, a nice change for the beach, and making a whole assortment of caipirinhas using different infused Leblon cachacas, but they were just ok for craft cocktails (no artificial mixes).  At $16 a pop, not to strong or mindblowing, add the price of valet (I think it was $22 after validation and no street options) I did not leave enthused to come back anytime soon.

I can't count how many Saturday nights I've spent here, but every time I go it's a great time.  My boyfriend and I stayed there for his birthday, just to live it up for a weekend, and we were not dissappointed.  We had an amazing time.  The pool is gorgeous with bay views and great service.  At night there's a DJ in the lobby, playing anything from oldies to hip-hop, it's just so fun.  You can dance, have a drink, talk outside with friends.  Oh, and for the girls, there's plenty of places to take a break from the stilletos and sit down.  And the dress code is anything goes, you can be casually cool, or if you feel like dressing up, go for it!!

    What an amazing hotel.

We only stayed overnight, but this place has to be seen to be believed.  It radiates a modernist aura which is consistent throughout the hotel.

The rooms are massive and will impress almost anyone.  We stayed in a  standard room but it seemed more like a suite.  The floor was done in amazing tile and the bedroom and 2 bathrooms were like a dream.  The room even came equipped with Tivo, two plasma TVs, and a Bose Ipod speaker system.  The views were stunning and the room was decorated with modernistic furnishing.

The pool is equally as impressive and looks onto Miami Bay, offering picture perfect views of downtown Miami.  Waitresses constantly patrol the entire area, ready to give drinks to anyone who needs one.

The staff is very attentive and the service is perfect.  It feels great to have the doors opened for us almost everywhere we go.

An additional plus is that this hotel is owned by the same group that owns the Delano, which is right next to the beach.  You can access all the services of that hotel (including pool and beach items) just by showing your guest pass to the Mondrian.

Great experience and we'll definitely come back!

I've been here several times for parties at night. I agree with the previous poster asking if we needed another all-white venue. I'm so over the white decor.

The parties are ok. Just a lot of eye candy. I prefer to hang out outside by the pool under the big red umbrella thing. It's easier to have a conversation out there.

My friends stayed here. And after two nights switched to the Delano. Let that speak for itself.

Checked into the hotel on 10/13/10 and was greeted by very friendly staff. Was offered an upgraded room which I turned down as I didnt think it was worth the price, but front desk staff gave us a room on the 12th floor so that we could have nice views of Miami Beach.  The hotel itself is in a good location away from the beach (15 min walk) which makes it easy to get in and out of and you don't have to deal with lots of traffic/tourists. Plenty of places to walk to nearby. There is a really good coffee shop called Taste Bakery which I went to daily for breakfast, and a nice cafe called Oliver's that is one block away.

The Room: Very spacious and very clean. Bed was very comfortable and room had a desk/chair as well as a couch which I didn't use, So I can't comment on those. Room is very modern but as the picture shows there is an odd painting of a womans face across from the bed.. although this didn't bother me much.

Bathroom: Very clean, and again very modern. Shower had a rain water showerhead coming from the ceiling surrounded by chandalier which was an interesting touch. Others have commented that water leaked through the shower door, but I didn't have this experience

Pool: Huge pool with lots of areas to sit. View is of the Miami bay facing downtown. The staff at the pool is very attentive and always there whenever you need something. Only downside was drinks are expensive.

Bar: Great staff, awesome drinks. Tried the lyche martini and the Berry martini which were both good. Again the only downside is the price

Overall great hotel. Would def stay here again. Really appreciated how helpful the staff was.

Stayed at the Mondrian for three nights. Had two rooms, one for my husband and I and one for my 22,year old daughter and fiancé. Thursday night we spent over 300 between the pool bar and inside bar. Friday, we stopped and picked up some alcohol for the room, which had a nice kit and refridge area. Sat when entering the pool area, security asked to search my daughters bag, and found two water bottles and demanded they be emptied. Cited that they open their pool to just anyone on the weekends and need the revenue stream. They didn't care that she was a paying guest. I went throught those same doors, about 30 minutes earlier and no one asked to check my oversized bag. I was so upset I went inside to speak to the manager, who told me, "sorry, we aren't profiling, we check everyone's bag." I asked her under what authority? She again said "sorry, we just do it, can you imagine if everyone tried to bring in their own water bottles"? I told her it was unacceptable. The best part about this is, that my daughter drank at the pool bar and inside bar Thursday night, but not one person asked for her ID. But Sat they felt the right to check her bag. I do not recommend this hotel, they do not know or understand good customer service. I've stayed all over the US and have never, not once had my pool bag searched.

Stayed here for 3 nights last weekend- a getaway weekend to Miami with a friend. The service was very nice and prompt. Everyone was extremely friendly and the room was very clean and nice. I was a bit nervous to stay here after reading some not so good reviews- but once I got there, I really enjoyed my stay and thought the service is nothing like what some of the bad reviews say it is. The people are very friendly, front desk is very professional and courteous and the pool is amazing! Even the pool boys were very polite and curteous and very attentive to our needs. The pool there by the way is beautiful!
And the restaurant- Asia de Duba is a wonderful addition to the hotel.

The only reason why this place does not get a five star is the location- there isn't really anything within walking distance to go to. We had to cab it around everywhere. But the cab ride wasn't too bad- everything was around $8 or less. It aroudn a $5 cab ride to lincoln road, $8 cab ride to Mansion night club (which is awesome by the way).

Would def stay here again to enjoy good service, clean room and beautiful pool!

Lychee Caipirinha ... hands down the best cocktail Ive ever had. Also had these passion fruit shot things courtesy of our bartender. Really good stuff. The only reason why I wont complain about the exorbitant prices is that there is no other place where I can enjoy this libation and the amazing view along with amazing service. Period. Very trendy but still relaxing at sunset. I did valet last time, will have to try that parking garage down the street the next.

Great hotel. The staff was great everyone was friendly....the decor in the hotel was obviously amazing, it is very euro/streamlined lots of ikea touches here and there. we had a mini suite, there was plenty of space to pre-game before going out and there is a liquor store across the street that delivers to the hotel....ask your bellman, that was convenient.

the shower was my favorite part of the room, the water comes out of a chandelier, and there was a mirror, you could have fun in that shower.

The only reason it loses a star is for the bed, not so comfortable and honestly the thread count on the sheets seemed low?

On my most recent stay, my girlfriends and I went to the Mondrian to enjoy poolside cocktails at sunset.

The view of the sun setting on the bay, as seen from the fabulous and luxurious outdoor area, is perfection.  Especially when coupled with the exceptional service from Rosemarie, our cocktail server.  She delivered many tasty Picante Passion cocktails, which are sweet and spicy and oh-so-right.  Yum.

I spent my birthday weekend at The Mondrian and was satisfied with the hotel service. The room was a good size and I was able to have about 20 people over before we went out. The decor is a bit out there, especially since there are heads of barbie-like models all over (there was a huge one in our suite).

The bar downstairs is a lot of fun. The music is really good on Fridays (old school hip hop is what I mostly remember being played) and the drinks are pretty good.

The pool party on Sunday morning/afternoon is also fun.

Doing research for my Miami trip coming up next weekend I came across this vending machine located at the Mondrian Hotel offering last minute luxury shopping.

I saw the first retail vending machine two months ago and was amazed.  It was a Sephora vending machine at the JFK located right by the Jetblue terminal.... perfect!  I ended up buying myself a bronzer since I left mine at home - simply genius!

Description on the Morgan's Hotel Group website:

Occupying an entire wall in the hotel lobby, our oversized vending machine redefines necessity by offering a myriad of luxury items at the touch of a fingertip, from a Paul Smith toothbrush to a 1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, with new items rotating in regularly. SemiAutomatic is divided into five categories: Basics, Media, Fashion, Beauty, GoFISH™ and byWANDERS™, and is available to guests 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Prices range from $10 to $1.2 million.

I must start out buy saying that overall, I highly recommend this hotel. We were 7 girls staying there for a bachelorette weekend and couldn't have had a better time.

Loved the decor of the hotel, the chic vibe of the Sunset Lounge and the excellent and attentive service of the housekeeping and valet staff. The continental breakfast included with our room was also excellent. Our 1 bedroom suite was nice and spacious. Love the whimsical decor but I'm not a big fan of the girl's face wearing headphones on the wall in the room.

I must say that the Pool and specifically, the Pool Concierge, David, was the highlight of our stay. There was not one moment where he was not smiling and chipper. He treated us like celebrities and attended to all of our sunbathing and lounging needs. He reserved lounge chairs for us every day in a different spot so we had the benefit of sleeping in and not missing out on laying out together.

However, there were a couple things the hotel should improve. 1. There was no shuttle or transportation to and from the actual beach. 2. We were also not allowed to take hotel towels off the property and to the beach. When you are from out of town staying at a hotel, you don't exactly pack a towel and you certainly shouldn't have to buy one just for your vacation.

I loved the decor, the service was good and my room/suite was clean.  Good location, quick walk to Starbucks, Whole Foods and a few restaurants. The bathrooms were definitely designed for men, not girls who need counter space, mirrors and good lighting for hair and makeup. Only a stand-up shower, no tub, but the rain shower was nice. The pool area and view of the bay were gorgeous. The crowd by the pool left something to be desired but I was expecting to see flocks of the beautiful people lounging about Miami style. Techno music runs almost 24/7 poolside and if you're on one of the lower floors near the pool be prepared to hear it in your room as well. Didn't quite meet expectations after all the rave reviews but not a bad spot to stay for the weekend.

Stayed at the Mondrain South Beach for a long birthday weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. My friends and I stayed in one of their 2 bedroom 2 bath suites and had a blast. When we first walked in we discovered that the hotel had provided us with a complimentary bottle of Champagne for our birthday's to celebrate, and celebrate we did. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony we had overlooking the pool was spectacular.

The poolside bar is most certainly a plus. The bartenders there were friendly and attentive. One afternoon I spent 4-5 hours just sitting at the poolside bar drinking margaritas and mingling with the other hotel guests. The pool area allows topless sunbathing so if you have children please be aware of this. However my friends and I did not mind in the least!

The only drawback to the hotel is possibly location because it is across the island from the beaches. However it makes up for it with beautiful views of the city and of Star Island in biscayne bay. One of the hidden surprises is a Wholefoods a couple of blocks away which is convenient if you want to stock up on drink mixers, food etc since the rooms have mini kitchens complete with stove.

Overall I give it 4 stars for service, accomodations and a feeling of exclusivity being away from the chaos on South Beach.

This place is terrible. Everything went wrong in less than 12 hours! Our luggage was swapped. We entered the beautiful room with a strangers belongings in it. Next ignored by the pool. Not a single staff member asked if we needed anything, at poolside dining. I was out there for an hour trying to get this girls attention but she was busy hanging out with 2 groups of guys, actually sitting down with them. Worse poolside dining I've ever experienced. Once we got food, not once did anyone ask if we needed anything else or  if everything was okay. Children running around screaming, splashing, being under supervised. I found a fly in not or but 2 drinks.

To make things worse, I was brushing my teeth, getting ready in my room Naked, when a staff member walked into our room without knocking twice. I screamed and he continued to walk through the room mumbling something to leave a letter on the table. Since when do hotels have letters delivered to tabletops. Slide it under the door! My privacy was completely invaded. I immediately called the manager who I found out later was actually the assistant manager because I saw his business card. He told us he would take care of it. We arrived back to the room that night to a $30 bottle of sparkling wine, rotting fruit, and an apology letter stating " sorry for the Minor incontinence" !

Don't stay here! Such a disappointment. The sushi was the worse I'd ever had. Harry and Nicole are excellent staff members. Rooms and pool are beautiful.  Too kid friendly for us.

Probably the best Luxury Hotel I've had the pleasure of staying at in my LIFE.

    Pros:
-Absolutely gorgeous view of the bay, RIDICULOUSLY chic decor (and fellow visitors I might add!), HOT HOT HOT pool scene, and exceptional service.
-There's a freakin chandelier and a mirror in the rain showerhead showers. OMG. Let me repeat that, a CHANDELIER and a FULL SIZE MIRROR IN THE SHOWER. Hot.

    Cons:
-You HAVE to valet...that is unless you want to walk five blocks with your luggage to the hotel. It's about $35 plus tips, making that about $40 a day. So take that into consideration.

-Not close to the beach, beach. You still have to drive everywhere, which means you have to pay another 5 or so to valet when you get back...smh.

Other than those two cons this place is GORGEOUS!! There's a reason why so many music artists shoot their video here ;).

The prices are fair for the excellent value that you get from the luxury hotel. What really makes the trip worthwhile is the pool area. Watching the Miami sunset at 6pm is beautiful and you get watch it as you swim in the pool. Or you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with a drink at the pool bar lying on the beach bed. Phillip Starck's renovation of the Mondrian has really made this hotel a unique place among the many greats in the Miami/ Miami Beach area. And the restaurant Asia de Cuba is great too.

I frequent Miami quite often, hands down this is one of the most beautiful hotels there.  Some would be disappointed because it's not on the beach, it's on the bay but I don't think it would have the same character else where.

We dined at Asia De Cuba which overlooked the bay and the pool, what a magnificent view.   The waiter was great, and extremely helpful when ordering.  Food was fantastic from the lobster, to the Filet mignon.  Everything melted in your mouth.  The Lychee martinis went down easy!l.

The pool is tremendous and with a gorgeous outside bar.  It truly feels as though you stepped into a piece of Heaven.

now that ive actually stayed at the hotel i am very underwhelmed.

the rooms are cute and trendy, but poorly done. the wallpaper was cut crooked and you can actually see all the patchwork.
the shower is a disaster - the curtain is pointless, it doesnt keep the water from splashing and soaking the entire bathroom floor.
and the overhead showerhead is a light sprinkle making it very difficult for a long haired girl to wash out shampoo.
    the toilet was broken.
we didnt have extra pillows or blankets for pull out sofa.
the valet is steep at 37 for overnight, at least they are very fast and efficient.

i probably would never stay here again.. although the pool area is amazing!!

My favorite part of this hotel is the POOL. It's absolutely beautiful and I love that it overlooks the bay. Gorgeous. The hotel's design itself is really unique. Very modern and artsy. The doll's image everywhere is a bit freaky though. Also took me awhile to figure out how the shower worked but I really liked the overhead spray. Only problem was the length of time it took for them to bring our bags up when we checked it and that there's no ATM in the hotel. It's ok though :) This was part of my boyfriend's surprise bday trip and he LOVED the hotel! He's totally metro so it was perfect for him. It's about a mile from the beach which is a little far if you don't like to walk...but still in an easy cab distance to restaurants and stores.

There were several people who made my boyfriend and my stay at Mondrian an excellent experience. The bar at the pool had (3) people staffing it on July 3, 2011 (two males and one female) and they were AMAZING. They were friendly, made us great drinks, and I cannot commend them enough for entertaining us. Also, the restaurant bar that same night had a male bartender and an intern working at the time and they were great at cheering me up + recommending excellent food for me. Please make sure they get my thank you and if possible, give them a raise or something! Everyone was amazing :)

My second stay at the Mondrian. First time i had a bay view room with a balcony that was nice, this time my friend and i just had a regular room. Overall i like this hotel, alot. However there were a few things that we not so great. Are room was right near were the housekeeping has all their stuff. so it was pretty noisy in the morning. We never really complained though so i guess i cant flip to much. Asia De Cuba has the worst service on the planet earth, you cant track down a waitress for the life of you and the food is just OK at best. If you like modern hotels with a cool crowd (everyone is young and hip) this is the place for you.

I stayed at the Mondrian for my friend's birthday weeekend and was super let down.
The rooms are uber cool but there was no attention to detail. The wallpaper was crooked, the shower stall let out incredible amounts of water and left the bathroom a wet disaster.
    Our toilet would not flush.
The Valet was a huge ripoff at  37.

I'd never stay here again especially at their exorbitant prices.

We stayed 4 nights in the Mondrian South Beach in one of the condo hotel units. We were a family of 4 & what I can say positive about the unit is the size was good, it was clean upon arrival & the king bed was comfortable. While this condo hotel is in the Mondrian Hotel, apparently the hotel can do nothing to assist clients should things go wrong & the hotel management company & the unit owners are completely unresponsive. I agree with another reviewer about the useless space in the units, & poorly designed bathrooms. Our shower was missing tiles. The unit was poorly furnished in the same manner of the hotel units itself. On the wall was a large mural of a scary girl we called "drugged out Barbie". The old sofa, crooked, dirty looking rug, dirty cushions, nasty chairs, lack of utensils, NO blankets & a total of 3 towels made our stay uncomfortable. We ended up at CVS buying blankets for our kids as none were provided, the hotel would not loan them & four calls to the Mondrian Condo Hotel management & the owner were of no avail. The owner (Michael) told us initially blankets would be delivered - did not happen. He then told us he was in the Keys, it was Easter & he couldn't get anyone to help. We took towels from the pool - after purchasing 4 from CVS also. The kitchen had a 2 burner cooktop, mini refrigerator, 3 bowls & 1 coffee mug. Not a bar of soap in the unit, light bulbs burned out on arrival. Further, the Mondrian pipes a heavy plumeria air freshener in all halls to drown the smell of smoke & keeps the hall lighting very dark to hide cleaning and - or wear & tear issues. Never, ever again!

What a great view of the bay! Didn't stay in a room, but they have a new happy hour "sunset hours" 6-9 where the drinks and food go up $1 from $6-$8 everyday! The drinks are great  jalapeño margarita a good choice. The bartender dani was pretty cool helping the whole bar by herself! The rock shrimp were awesome.  You can't beat these prices on south beach with a view like that watching the sunset on the miami skyline. I will be back!

Just spent an extended weekend at this luxury hotel.

As far as the room/decor/service goes, it was pretty spot on. The room was beautiful, minus the repeat of the weird "floating head" wall decal we saw throughout the hotel.

There was PLENTY of people watching to be done...lots of "hot" girls with implants galore (breast and butt!!!) in teeny-tiny bikinis. The scene was what I'd expect for South Beach. Richies lounging by the pool flexing their assets and asses.

Keeping in mind an almost $400/night price tag, I'm knocking these guys 2 stars for the following:

    1. Wonky Stuff: Our shower was leaky and flooded the bathroom on each use. The Bose ipod/iphone dock wasn't compatible with the iphone 4.  DVR access was broken. Internet access was pretty spotty, which was super frustrating for those of us hoping to get some work done. Two of the candy packets in our mini bar were half eaten and HIDDEN in the back (assumably the folks before us- nice trick...)

    2. Overpriced Crappy Food/Cocktails: Drinks will run you 15-25 dollars a pop (not including the auto grat) and are consistently served in plastic glasses/champagne flutes. Bartenders are mediocre in skill, if that. Food from their in-house restaurant was no better than an upscale diner. We ordered breakfast one morning, the Havana Special, and were floored to see two small half-moons of chorizo inside with some crummy square slices of cheese on top.

All in all, our experience was a positive one. I just thought a little more attention to detail should have been paid to the actual quality-aspect of things...instead of the zhuzh factor, which leaves NYC-residents like myself feeling like I got a little ripped off.

I booked my hotel on hotwire for $200 plus a night and had high expectations for this hotel.  Just check out their website for the beautiful pictures of the hotel. mondrian-miami.com

Unfortunately, it didn't really live up to my expectations but I did enjoy my stay here.  It's right on West and 11th St, so you can easily miss the entrance. There are no big signs to indicate you're here.  You simply see 1100 W. and know that you're here.  Even the entrance to the hotel is beautiful.  They have chandeliers on the outside and guys outside to valet your car and open your door. One thing I realize at this hotel is service is excellent.  Everyone is always willing to help you in anyway, whether it's the bartender, pool boy, receptionist, etc.

Upon checking in, we went up to our room on the 7th floor. I had a studio with one bedroom and a balcony overlooking the city. It would have been nice if it were overlooking the bay but I didn't mind.

As you walk in, you come across a small dining table with the kitchen to your left and restroom to your right.  As you walk forward, you have your living room with a moderate size tv and desk.  The design is ecclectic.  To your right, is your bedroom.  The bed was comfortable.  They had a tv in the bedroom too with unlimited channels to watch. Yay!  The door connecting the bedroom to the restroom is glass with no lock.  The restroom was nice as well. I liked the shower head in particular.  It was like a mini chandelier with a shower head in the middle.  Super nice and luxurious.   The sink was pretty cool too. I can't really describe it. Instead of bowl shaped, it was flat with holes close to where the faucet is.  They designed it so that it would not get wet.

The pool area was nice too with several cabanas dispersed throughout and music playing in the background.  Since the pool was overlooking the bay, it provided a nice back drop to a nice relaxing day at the pool.

They also had a bar area near the beach and Asia de Cuba diners sat close by.  They also have a lounge and bar area inside the hotel where you can drink, socialize, and enjoy the evening.

    The reason why I gave it a 4 and not a 5:

-It's not really a hotel.  They rent out studios, apartments, etc to people.
-The maintenance of the cabinets, upholsteries were not up to par.  There were a few scratches here and there.
    -Expensive Valet parking only
    -No gift shops
-Expensive Drinks $16 plus mandatory 18% tip (standard rate in South Beach)

    FYI
    Lots of Tall Beautiful People.
You can park down on 10th street behind Starbucks.

Swank! Capirinhas at sunset go down easily. Beautiful setting and actually friendly service. Bachelorette party with a blow-up doll and a child hopped up on soda manage to coexist. On the bay side so off the beaten path.  Would consider staying here on a future visit.

Really enjoyed staying here! Dominique at the front desk checked us in and gave some great advice on where to go. She was so friendly and really went out of her way to help us. The rooms are very modern and I like the decor (with the exception of the weird faces everywhere). The pool was beautiful and the guys who help out with the towels were very nice. The shower head in our room was a chandelier, which i loved. It is about a mile from the popular strip of shops and bars but it's worth it to stay here. Also, I left something in my room and they were kind enough to mail it back to me once I realized I forgot it. I would definitely stay here again.

Mondiran Miami - Stayed here for my girlfriend's birthday and we both had a fabulous stay!  Sal took great care of our reservation.  Valet/Bell staff were extremely efficient and friendly.  FD was personable. Guest name usage seemed not to be a daily practiced routine, however, I was here to relax at the pool and have some drinks, not to hear how many people can pronounce my name =)

We had a Suite which was spacious with funky decor!  comfortable bed.  Best part of the room was their over-head rain shower!   Bathroom floor "seemed" to be dirty, however, they were clean, but appeared to be dirty due to the type of flooring that was used.

Spent the entire stay at their pool.  Holly was great!  ask for Holly when you get seated.  Make sure to come early and reserve your chairs as they go fast!   FYI: Sun does not hit the entire pool until about 1pm. Best view of the Miami Skyline.
Only hic-up was when we called Room service to deliver 6 champagne glasses, they wanted to charge us $5 a piece + delivery charge.  basically $40 for champagne glasses made no sense.

    Besides that..everything was great!

Pretty disappointed with this place.  Was expecting something on the same level as The Standard and this didn't even come close.  We spent the day at the pool and spa and I will say that the bartender, Blayne, was fantastic (even though the drinks were $16 a piece) and my hubby and I had terrific massages in the couples room.  The rest was nowhere as nice as I had imagined.  I don't think I would go back.

Went there for drinks this past Friday night. If you don't know anybody there or aren't on the guest list, they won't let you in without purchasing a table and $350 bottle of liquor. Luckily our friends put us on the list so we got in.

The all-white decor and modern look is fantastic. The view of the bay out by the pool is awesome too. The staff ranged from warm personalities to complete a-holes, depending on who you encountered. The waitress that served us drinks inside and the two bartenders outside were really friendly and nice. The short guy manning the front door & velvet rope was a pompous d-bag. One of the bartenders inside dumped out my female friend's $16 drink after she ordered it because she was taking too long to pay, although it was only mere moments.

Because of that, I can't rate this place ultra high, but I always expect a little pretentiousness and attitude when I venture to South Beach. I have to say, the amount of stunningly beautiful women in this one place on a Friday night was impressive and the building itself is magnificent. I would probably go again, because the positives (atmosphere, decor, etc) outweigh the negatives (some rude staff, $$$ high-priced).

Really? $37 for valet parking? If I wasn't spending the night helping my best friend (who had been put up in the Mondrian on a business trip) spend her corporate allowance, I'm not sure if I would've bothered... I don't know, maybe. I'm a bit ambivalent because based on my experience I can't decide if the Mondrian is really of the first-class quality that warrants their elitism, or if its just stereotypical South Beach posturing at stereotypical South Beach prices (I mean, they don't even give you free wifi!).

Marcel Wanders' lavish but cheeky decor was great, I loved all the little details like the rain shower head in a chandelier, the double peepholes in the door, I even kind of enjoyed the creepy doll heads plastered on the walls.

And I have to admit, we did have a pretty great time lounging poolside by the beautiful bay view. The pool area was very chic and clean, and our attendant was friendly and expeditious. As far as our dining experience by the pool, our cocktails were well-made, but I'm not so sure about the food. Our first waitress didn't seemed too concerned with keeping track of us, and we actually lost her after we left briefly. I can't really complain because although our second waitress (who was great, btw) tried to figure out what happened to our tab, we ended up getting free food and drinks because of it.

I did, however get sick after eating said free food. I can't say for sure but I feel it was pretty likely the result of a suspicious cocktail shrimp. Our room service meal the next morning was of the standard Holiday Inn continental breakfast caliber; which is fine, but if I'm spending (a hypothetical) $9 for a bagel with cream cheese, the least they can do is toast and cream cheese the thing.

In conclusion, I'd probably come back to lounge at the beautiful pool, I'd even recommend staying in the rooms, but I may or may not give the food another chance. I'll be wary of it, at least until I'm convinced otherwise.

With an uber modern design, the Mondrian aims to be all that one could ask for in Miami.  It's promise even led me to abandon some of the other modern hotels on the beach side of the island in order to try out this newer option on the bay side. Sadly, the Mondrian failed to deliver on this promise on most every front.

Unfortunately for hotel guests, the Mondrian seems to care more about its poolgoers (who happen to be gorgeous) rather than its hotel guests.  While the pool was packed with guests who received prompt and attentive service, the services inside the hotel were less than stellar. The internet service was out for the majority of our stay and the staff at the front desk couldn't seem to care less. Secondly, the TV did not work (had a minimal level of function) and the engineer who was coming to "check it out" probably still hasn't arrived.

Considering its price per night, the Mondrian set itself a very high bar and it didn't come even close to meeting the equally high expectations. The lone bright stop was the pricy, but fantastic room service. While the menu was semi-limited, the waffle and egg while omelet were delicious!. In addition, the view of the sunset into the Bay from the hotel was a stupendous benefit. Unfortunately, this was once again offset by incredibly poor service at the outdoor bar at sunset.

For the price, you are likely better served by staying at one of the myriad of other hotels on Miami Beach that are situated closer to the beach...sadly for the Mondrian, the view from the Bay was the one redeeming quality from my stay and going forward I will always choose to stay on the other side of Miami Beach!

If you are planning to patronize the Mondrian in Miami Beach, be aware that the Mondrian does not believe that civil rights are meant to be protected. The Mondrian does not provide handicap access from the street level to the hotel. They requested and received a waiver of the Americans with Disabilities Act because they stated that it would be a hardship to provide access to the disabled. They allegedly could only provide handicap access to all by installing an elevator which would take a guest up to the front entrance. Architects with experience providing handicapped access do not agree with the method of access stipulated and believe that it could easily be provided with a ramp located where they currently have parking spaces directly in front. The total cost of renovation in the waiver request is listed as $10,000,000 while on other documents this amount is between $32,000,000 and $37,000,000. They stipulate the elevator would cost $3,000,000 and at $10,000,000 it would be a hardship according to FL statute. But at $32,000,000 it would not. The Americans with Disabilities Act is meant to protect the disabled. The Mondrian South Beach makes a very clear statement by requesting a waiver when it is very likely one was not necessary. When asked how someone in a wheelchair could access the hotel from the street, hotel staff suggested putting plywood over the stairs. No one has the right to deny anyone's civil rights. Before giving them your money you should know who you are giving it to.

LOVED this hotel.  We booked two rooms, one with a veiw of the bay and one without and they upgraded the room with no view at no additional charge. The rooms were beautiful, the showers were so cool and the view was amazing. The staff was beyond helpful. We had a lovely conversation with the assistant manager of the hotel and she treated us like family for the remainder of our stay.  I will definitely stay here again. We moved from a complete hell hole hotel (Deauville Beach Resort) and almost cried when we walked into the Mondrian because of how beautiful it was and how well we were treated.  The hallways had the most pleasing smell as well.  I highly recommend this hotel!

My wedding party all stayed here at the Mondrian.  We booked over 28 rooms here, I had a great time.  They offered my guests a very nice price for rooms.

The rooms are very nice in size.  Besides the service being extremely slow on our first day at the Pool Restaurant, I can't complain.  The staff was extremely kind, and very accomodating.

Special thanks to Barb, Dan, Emar, Jose, and Enrique for making our stay memorable.  They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.  We had a family emergency at the end and the whole staff, especially Barb tried to make everything better.  It was extremely above and beyond.  She even tried to deliver food to the hospital!

Although it's not right on the beach, I definitely recommend this hotel.  It's trendy, fun, and all the staff from the front desk to the managers are outstanding.

I totally love the decor of this hotel. The overall feel of the white floors and the chandeliers makes it so chic .
From the valet parking to the bartender service...everyone was very polite and on point.  FYI valet is $24. Drinks are also on the higher end, but add the amazing view and the whole ambiance and is totally worth it!.
My friends and I were able to sip on some tasty drinks and lounge by the pool. A great place to talk, relax and admire the spectacular view.

I was very excited to go check out the Mondrian scene on a recent Friday night, but upon hiking up the driveway, and then being faced with a doorman and some velvet ropes to gain entry into the hotel itself, my hopes bottomed out.

Inside was sheer madness.  People were everywhere.  Music was blasting.  Doormen with ropes guarded what seemed like every entry/exit in the entire place.

The black iron staircase was pretty cool, but that's about all that won for me.  The R&B singer Craig David (remember the jam, "Seven Day" from about 10 years ago?) was performing on the bar in the lobby, so, of course, chaos was reigning supreme.

After trying to go out by the pool and being denied because we weren't hotel guests, we finally made it by going through the "club" on the other side of the lobby.  I wasn't that impressed, but maybe that's because it was pitch black out.

I'd like to check out the pool and the crazy vending machine, but don't know if I want to deal with the hassle of it.

Just got back from vacationing in South Beach. We stayed at this particular hotel because we love the views of the bay!  We had a great time and really enjoyed the pool.  I think the girl theme that the hotel has going is a bit scary.  While I was trying to go to sleep she seemed to just be staring haha.  We heard ahead of time that the hotel has free bike rentals so we asked the front desk about it and the girl seemed to smirk and say "oh they are all in the shop right now."  We were like okay then.

We really loved our recent stay at The Mondrian. When we first arrived i was a little put off by the loud music pumping from the bar into the lobby; i could hardly hear myself think at checkout. However, all was well when we arrived on our quiet floor and entered our beautiful room. I was immediately in love with the room. I would have moved in as-is. Well, maybe sans doll head on the wall. Everything was very luxurious, the perfect combination of modern and country chic. The Malin + Goetz bath product are a nice treat too! I wish we had a room with a view. And that the shades kept out more light.

On day one we walked to the beach, so it's completely doable if you are not lazy!

The second day was spent by the pool sipping drinks. We got a late start and were a little surprised that we got the last two chairs by the pool around lunchtime. I guess that's what happens when the pool isn't limited to hotel guests. But that's what makes it fun. The crowd was certainly interesting to watch! Drinks were expensive by the pool (with  the 18% included gratuity two mojitos were $40), but you just have to go with the Miami flow. Great view of city and bay!

The staff was friendly, but not  intrusive  or overbearing. No complaints about front desk, housekeeping, pool staff or bartenders. All did a great job with a smile.

The gym was very nice as well, nice equipment and sparkling clean.

Parking was $37 per night, but you really have no other choice. Parking in Miami is such a hassle!

Food and drinks at Asia de Cuba were excellent too!

The rooms are spacious and clean. A huge bathroom with a waterfall shower is a nice way to start the day.
I have not eaten in he Asia De Cuba restaurant but have had a couple of room service items which were very good.

I got a sweet priceline deal for a room here for one night. I was completely satisfied with my stay, though I felt that the room's decor was a bit over the top. The bed was nice and comfy, there was a kitchenette, and the shower head was a chandelier. I'd definitely consider returning to the Mondrian for the right price.

Also, our room on the penthouse level had a stellar view of all of South Beach as well as the Atlantic. The sunrise was truly beautiful.

Mondrian SoBe feels like an artsy boutique hotel, which belies it's proximity to party central.  Most of the fun is walking distance but there are bikes for rent in front of the hotel.  There are usually one or two taxis parked in front.  The pool area is very open and overlooks the bay.  The clientele here are mostly young, fly, & flashy!  The pool can look like a model shoot on any given day.  At night the lounge area gets popping!  I loved my room, which was like a mini apartment complete with a kitchen area.  The decor is so cool and I've never thought to have some floating heads be the theme but it worked for me.  If I have to describe the style of the hotel, I would say that it's a minimalist, artsy, & Victorian.  I loved the white interior as well, it works to make the interior feel really clean and classy.  I recommend staying here for glitz and glam a bit of a walk from the busiest parts of South Beach.

I want to preface this review by saying that it is just for the spa, lobby, and pool.  I really wish I had stayed there because I had a really great experience!

This hotel/spa/residence does appear to beckon the sleek, minimal, and modern clientele.  The lobby is gorgeous in a very South Beach way...the way you would say Raquel Welch would look in a tight-fitting leopard print dress and black high heels at a backyard Georgia  wedding.  A bit over-the-top and out of place, but a head-tuner nonetheless.  The highlight of the lobby aside from the odd cartoon girl and the black staircase is an automated gift center where you can actually purchase cars and jewelry amongst other, less expensive items.  We did have trouble finding the spa, but the staff pointed us in the right direction.

Speaking of directions, that reminded me...

We actually had trouble finding the name of the hotel on the building.  Why?  Because there is no name!  And, direction labels on the floor to the spa...nada.  I asked the woman at the spa desk and she said that it was supposed to be because the hotel wanted to exude an "exclusive"  and  "elite" air.  She also sympathized with us because she said she gets a lot of the same question.  I think it's pretty odd, especially because people would probably like to get to their hotel and spa without becoming aggravated, but its South Beach and there is nothing more to say about that.

The spa was also minimalist-very white and clean and serene.  The staff was very pleasant and we had awesome treatments including massages, pedicures, and a scalp treatment.  When we left, we felt very relaxed.  The staff at the spa was very nice and attentive, which made our South Beach spa stay pretty cool.

We then went down to the pool, which is awesome.  If you are into people watching, this is your place.  Check out the photos of the pool on their website.  I can't even begin to describe it.  Ok, let me try: there is a bed in the pool area.  Oh, and there's a lamp in the pool.  If you are wanting to lay out, feel free to do it on a carpet, chaise, or under a foliage type alcove cabana.  There is a couch and a chair too.  How did I do?  I bet I confused you, but it is South Beach so there is nothing more to say about that.

I thought the price of this spa and parking was actually pretty reasonable for South Beach and it maybe because it is located on the intracoastal side of the area, not the beach side.  I know another reviewer thought it was expensive, but we didn't think it was too bad.  After all, it is South Beach and that is all I have to say about that.

This place is very trendy in decor, but nothing too amazing....the location is not beachfront so it's not great, but my gfs were paying so whatever. Either way, I would've much prefered to stay at their "sister" hotel...the Delano...we went there for brunch during the week and it was amazing---I will definitely be staying there on my next trip to Miami.

Oh right, so there was a party downstairs of Mondrian the week we were there and I bought 3 drinks for my gfs/I. The next morning, I realized that I had forgotten to close my check and went downstairs to go get it...took a good 30 minutes for them to contact security, etc to get it back...but fine at least I got it back, whatever. Went back to virginia and realized that instead of charging $45 for the 3 drinks...they had decided to charge the $45 + $65 for drinks I never bought!!! I had to call my bank to get that all squared away, but I can't believe at such a supposedly nice, pricey place that it would be unsafe to forget my card at the bar.

not coming back! oh btw, what's up with the creepy girl at the hotel that's in the rooms and right in front of u the second u walk in the hoteL? it creeps me out! check out the pic lol

but the guys opening the doors are hot? so +1? hahaha

Glitz, Glamour, Sassy. Grandiloquent. Swank. Superficial. Theatrical. And a little Conceit.

Good or Bad?  Depends on if you relate with any of those adjectives.

Mondrian South Beach was quite an adventure for me and SR.  We stayed for a week at this trendy Morgan Hotel Group location in December 2010.  Following the lead of a TravelZoo special, these Angelenos took our Christmas vacation to Miami South Beach.  It was actually a poor time to travel to Miami as a terrible Artic Breeze made it one of the coldest winters according to local residents, however, from the start, our vacation started off very well.  After a week, we enjoyed some good moments, but had some concerns about what a "boutique" hotel should and shouldn't be....

    Thumbs Up
We were upgraded to a large one-bedroom suite since the hotel was half empty. I appreciated the additional 200 square feet. Equipped with a Dutch kitchenette and numerous hidden closets, we felt like we where staying a luxurious palace. A beautiful take on a modern Alice in Wonderland inside our room, the hallways and beyond made me feel like I was staying in a different realm.  The good's were manifested in the location's sexy decor and ambience. The room fixtures and furnishing were fiercely memorable. I dream of the owning my own rainfall chandelier shower head.

Pool. Pool Side Service. Location. Whole Foods Across the Street. Walk to Restaurants.

    Needs Improvement
    No Free Wi-Fi. Really.
    Nickel and Dimed for Everything!
Customer Service Skills Training Needed in All Departments Except the Pool. I wonder if the 12 Morgan Hotel Group locations teach Pretentious 101 as one of their training unit. Or is it isolated to the Mondrian South Beach.  If that is the case, HR, hire snotty models. Please.
Valet Only Option for Overnight Guest? $37 x 7 days for us....Do the math.

    Final Verdict for Future Visits
For a one-night stay to enjoy the pool and feel a little luxury, maybe.  A week, no.  Too much hassle to deal with too much pretense from staff that cares more about themselves instead of their clients.

I had an AMAZING experience at this hotel. After checking out all the luxury hotels, the Mondrian beat all of them by far with the best rooms, great brand new gym, excellent service and gorgeous pool. Make sure you spend the extra money to get a balcony with a view of the Bay - it is worth it for sure. Rooms are gorgeous and came with a mini-kitchen. The customer service was wonderful; they gave us complimentary champagne by the pool when we arrived and also had a bottle waiting for us in our room because we were celebrating a special occasion. A little secret: the hotel has bikes that they rent out for FREE. They are super cute and fun to take around town.

I won't go in to detail on the rooms because you can view pictures on their site, but everything about the room was fantastic. We even used our mini kitchen to make breakfast in the morning and had mimosas on our balcony.

The only downside would be that the hotel is not on Ocean Avenue, so you do need to take a cab to most restaurants/bars but honestly, it is worth it to stay at the Mondrian. The crowd is trendy/young and they have the best pool parties. They also have a lounge downstairs with a DJ on certain nights.

Celebrated my birthday in M-I-A and stayed at the lovely Mondrian! Right as we pulled up to the front, the valet service was warm and welcoming. Upon checking in, the lady at the front desk was also friendly. I knew then customer service was a priority. The girls and I got upgraded and stayed on the 15th floor! Our room was very spacious with it's own little kitchenette. There's no words to describe the breathtaking view from our balcony. Seeing the sunset every night was definitely cool. We even got sent up a FREE bottle of champy and fresh strawberries to celebrate! Major plus in my book if you ask me! Though the location is by the bay, walking to ocean dr. or even collins is a breeze. And if you're not into walking, there's always a cab! Highly recommend staying with the Mondrian if you're a fan of presentation, customer service, and FABULOSITY!

Service is attentive, friendly and discrete, the location away from the mad crowds...  the pool is great to hang out all day, the pool bar makes great drinks and great food, David the pool concierge made our stay so relaxing and pleasing we stayed 3 more days!
Dylan and Issac from the pool staff bent backwards to please any request we had, Evelyn the pool waitress was outstanding in keeping us well hydrated and smiling all day, Karen at the pool brought me back to life the last day... thank you again!

Olya the celebrity mixologist makes the best mojito ever and Blaine a master at making his own signature drink, the vodka, basil lemonade that were so refreshing and delicious they can only be matched by his great sense of humor.. thank you for keeping  us laughing all day.. the rooms are beautiful, clean and well appointed, their shower and bathroom amenities were a treat to have... it was great family vacation, all my family that lives in Miami came to visit and they were treated liked royalty... Thank you!  we will be back!

Mondrian Hotel amenities were OK - not top line (which is what I would expect considering the price tag)

    The scene?

    There is no scene.

    The people?

Trashy - not in a fun miami way - just in a bad way.

The only good was the EXCELLENT poolside service and the view of Miami.

The MAJOR problem with this hotel is that some of the rooms are actually owned Mondrian residences. My friends and I made the mistake of renting one of those. It was still over $400 / night mind you, so it's not like we were paying bargain basement prices.

The Mondrian Hotel claims to have nothing to do with the residences. That's a good thing too because the room we stayed in was not ready at check in (2.5 hours later it was), had no soap, no bath mat, no top sheets (just bottom), really overly used towels and DISGUSTING SOILED FURNITURE. SOILED. Not just like a little older looking - like BROWN on YELLOW fabric. Horrendous, in other words.

Now here is my question: WHY oh WHY does the Morgan Hotel group and the MONDRIAN  ALLOW THIS SORT OF THING TO HAPPEN IN THEIR HOTEL????

In this business image is everything - and there is nothing CHEESIER and that puts me off MORE than a hotel that allows people to rent out DISGUSTING DIRTY rooms and then when you go complain at the concierge they just smile and say "that's a separate room"

Here's the thing - it's NOT really that separate. The hotel and the residences are mixed --- so it's not like there's a special residences only area.

Essentially the Mondrian allows (in our case) careless owners to rent out rooms at exorbitant prices because these owners get to use the Mondrian name but then when guests arrive and it's a DUMP the Mondrian just shrugs.

My issue is that nobody is THAT stupid. I would assume the Mondrian must be getting some sort of deal out of doing this. In any case MONDRIAN AND MORGANS HOTEL GROUP SHOULD NOT ALLOW THIS. This is supposedly a HIGH END hotel group.

    So WHAT GIVES?

Honestly, i'd say most of the reason we even went with this disgusting apartment was SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE IT HAS THE NAME MONDRIAN ON IT AND IS LOCATED IN THE MONDRIAN HOTEL ITSELF.

And if you don't konw what I'm talking about go to Home Away or one of those VRBO websites and you can just put in Mondrian South Beach and you'll see a bunch of fabulous pix of the hotel being rented by OWNERS.

REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT WHAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM A HOTEL OF THIS --- SUPPOSED --- CALIBER

And in case anyone is reading this review the room number was 317 and is a total dump and if I were you I would contact the owner and tell him to stop posting pretty pix of his place online that were obviously taken WAY before the room got to the shape it's in today.

And he also lies and tells people that you get chairs for free at the Delano beach --- also not true.

I really enjoyed myself here! As a first timer to Miami, my friend made sure to take me to all his favorites. Of course the Mondrian was at the top of his list. Today we laid out at the pool facing the water and i must say, the space out there is just lovely. David hooked us up with a chair in a great location. He was very enthusiastic and seemed to truly love his job. The waitresses were all super friendly and quick with the drinks. Of course the drinks are expensive but you're in Souh Beach. Get over it, you're on vacation!

There are tons of cabanas for sexy cocktail drinking and pretty views. The hotel itself is all white with beautiful light fixtures and a stunning winding staircase. The drink list is really fun and the vibe was chill. Today they had a DJ spinning by the pool and it was a great time. Very cool spot. You must stop by and have some fun!

Spent the day there for a Bachelorette party. First I started with their signature Milk & Honey massage and then we went down to the pool area where we had 2 cabanas. The only thing that was disappointing was we couldn't decorate the cabanas with bachelorette things. Pool area has a dj on Sundays. There's 2 David's that work the pool area and they were both very helpful.

    Where do I even begin....

The check in staff and reservation making was super easy and simple. The front desk staff, valets, and bellmen were super nice and helpful and they were able to answer all of our questions without hesitation.

The rooms were AMAZING! The chandelier shower was my favorite :). The room and bathroom was huge and the bed was super comfy. Tons of closet space to keep all of your clothes. Even the pull out sleeper couch was comfortable, which almost never happens in hotels.

The kitchenette was fully stocked and mini bar with snacks was also amazing, but of course there was an extra fee. If you wanted to eat in and not cook, there was a stove top and microwave, but who doesn't want to go out to eat in South Beach?

Super short walk to Ocean Drive, the beach, and Lincoln Road. This was helpful so everyone was safe and didn't have to drive.

My favorite and most amazing part of the vacation was when my friend dropped her phone along with credit cards and ID down the elevator shaft. Physically impossible, but she did it. The front desk staff called maintenance which allowed her to walk down with them to the basement to try and find the phone, which amazingly they did! She was so happy and thankful that she almost started crying.

    Overall, I would re

Absolutely beautiful, unique and stunning design elements and personality differentiate the Mondrian from all the other ultra-modern, over-the-top and impractically designed hotels in South Beach. I have yet to be an overnight guest at the Mondrian so this review is limited to the lobby, pool area and bar.
Bar tenders were knowledgeable and served up delicious cocktails with friendly and downright hysterical flare sans a pretentious attitude, while taking extra measures to not be intrusive on our group's conversation (much appreciated!). The variety and prices of the happy hour menu ROCK and can't be beat.

Overall this hotel was a really nice experience.  The staff was very friendly and professional and I thought the location was nice - off the main strip but a short walk to the beach.  I was there for work and all the food we had provided by the hotel was amazing.

I did feel like the room was playing mind games with me though.  The first night I couldn't find any glasses, which was super weird, especially because they have wine and beverages in the room.  The next day someone told me that she asked housekeeping and they are in the hutch, which we both initially thought was decorative because the doors are really sticky.  Also my room didn't have any outlets in the bathroom for the hair dryer, but I guess other rooms do.  I was on the 15th floor and had a balcony with a great view of the beach, though I felt like I might have a panic attack if I walked to close to the edge.

Can't comment on price because I stayed there for work and am not sure how much it cost.

It is a pretty hotel that is very clean, but the interior decor of the lobby area and halls really confuse me because it is just clean and sitting/standing there.  I am unsure of the inspiration for the decor, but it isn't the best that I have seen.  Modern, yes, but it didn't give me the swanky and luxury feel that I would expect when paying these sorts of prices for a room.

Asia de Cuba is a MUST-visit just because their food is so good.  Their pool area is very pretty and gives you a good view, enjoy a nice massage poolside with sectioned off greenery rooms featuring a flat panel TV.

Came with some friends to have some drinks poolside. We were told to consume $50 min. Thats fine, 2-3-drinks will get us close to that.  AH-NO, try 50 min PER PERSON! What a rip off!  Not only is the pool lame, but its also a bit run down.  Great View, pretty hotel, never got my mustard, and the crowd is washed out. Will not return.

It's a nice hotel. It has that SOBE feel to it but it's not perfect. The room was a little dingy and the rugs that were placed askance were a bit annoying.

The bed is comfortable and the shower coming out of the chandelier in the bathroom is a cute touch.

Highlights---great concierge service, nice Malin products for hair, fun pool and bar area that sits on the bay.

It's 1 block from a Walgreens, Starbucks and Whole Foods if you need those things. It's also not too too far from Lincoln Road.

    I would stay again!

The pool was very pretty and the spa service was great. It was an amazing massage. That said, I would not return to this property because of the terrible service at the pool by the servers. It often took 30-40 minutrs to find her, and another 40 minutes to get a glass of wine. At one point, our meal arrived 20 minutes before the drinks we ordered to go with it, and when we mentioned this, she was completely unapologetic.  Next time, we'll go to a different resort with the kind of service you'd expect at a great property.

    Ok, mixed feelings here.
the rooms need to be cleaned throughly! but they are big and comfortable, they have a loung a mini kitchen and they give you great shampoo and body wash.
They have a great continental breakfast that offers brie, chedar and swiss cheese an assortment of salty and swet rolls ar well as several high quality teas and coffees.
The wait staff is super polite and friendly......at the front desk it really depends on the day, the manager was great but one of the attendants was rude and unfriendly.
As far as the pool area, it is a great spot to hang out during the day but the ambiance becomes non existant during the evening...we were told that it woll be remodeled....same goes for the bar-restaurant Asia de Cuba....not a soul !!!!

Be prepared to spend and spend and spend, a single mojito on a short glass comes at $27 with gratuity. A simple shower at the spa is $20 + gratuity (I found this shoking since you are a guest at the hotel!)

They have a Whilemina models agency on the 3rd floor, so we had fun watching all the pretty ladies on their way to their castings.

It is a bit far from South Beach, which is a good thing because you dont get the noise from the clubs, yet you can walk to and from them.
Also very cool? a Whole Foods market across the street so you can buygreat food and enjoy it at your balcony.

I would totally come back now that I know that it will be revamped in January

I do not like mondrian, hotel lacks soul and a genuine croft audience,
alot of guests at this excentric in a embarrasing way  and alot of efficient Italians who have saved money all year to be able to afford to go on the trip, Now they just must show in speedos and shaved chest.

Hotel feels pretty poor, boring rooms, feels like an office, Shower healed water and the bathroom are very small.

staff at the mondrian was mighty clever and helpful, the concierge was very good, the pool guys were very helpful also.

A big minus with this hotel is the location, it's really off on South Beach.

I have now tried both Shore Club and Mondrian, dont like any of these hotels, next trip it will be Delano(same group) or SLS.

Pros: Great hotel, located within walking distance to Collins Ave on South Beach.

We were given a room with a seperate kitchen and living room, which I didn't think was part of our package. Bonus!!

Our room was cleaned and our bed changed at least once a day during our stay.

Free breakfast, which we did not partake in because we woke up past noon everyday during our stay!  Ha

The pool was gorgeous with great views. Not only that, but the workers were very attentive in helping us get lounge chairs as soon as we stepped out into the pool area.

Cons: Lots of loud and obnoxious people who were not staying at the hotel seem to lounge and party there at night... not cool.

Some of the front desk people seemed somewhat stuck-up and not very welcoming.

The toilet in our bathroom seemed to have an ongoing issue where it didn't flush completely. Maintenance came to the room to repair it on 2 ocassions.

    Overall great experience !!

Best. Hotel. In Miami. I travel to Miami about once a year sometimes twice and I've stayed in many hotels, not one compares to the Mondrian. I will start off by saying it's a little pricey but definitely understandable. As soon as we got out of the car we had two young men help us with our bags and show us to the front desk, we were taken care of by a lovely receptionist. We were early (check-in is at 3) but they were able to accommodate us either way. The room, as soon I walked in, I could smell and see the cleanliness, everything was ready for us, the view was absolutely stunning. Back downstairs, they have the pool and lounge, with fantastic views of the Miami sunset, great drinks and bar snacks. Our favorite part was the server, Luis who took care of us for the majority of the trip. Lovely hotel, a block from starbucks and whole foods and 15 minutes from Lincoln road, will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Miami!

Liked: Cool décor. Pleasant view of the city and the bay. Clean. 1 block away from Whole Foods (stocked up on breakfast and sometimes had quick lunch).

Did not like: 1) $38 to park overnight. 2) Far from the lively south beach - we enjoyed the walk to the beach the first night (15-20mins) but it gets exhausting if you go there twice a day. Cab ride is $10 for a pitiful mile.  3) Worst was the shower - what poor engineering ! - every time we'd take a shower the whole bathroom floor would be flooded in 2 inch water. This was not a plumbing issue but poorly engineered shower stall and glass doors. This was so annoying and we kept running out of towels to absorb the swamp. 4) I wanted a kitchen where I can cook breakfast or least have a cooking knife to cut apples, etc. Their kitchen is completely not practical. No paper towels, no cooking utensils, no pots or skillets. I understand that not everyone needs a kitchen, but if they advertise at having kitchen it should have more than a fridge and a microwave.  Husband and I are both very slim people - but we couldn't fit behind the "kitchen table" without moving it out to the living room.  5) Then, last day there was an issue with poolside towels where no towels were available for hours. We needed the towels to go to the beach, but instead wasted an hour of our precious vacation time sitting around, waiting for them to resolve this issue.

This hotel wasn't bad... I've just had better.  It seems this is a hot place to hang out...if you are 20 something... the pool area is beautiful.  The service was OK... my room wasn't ready when I checked in... so I waited for 1/2 hour after a long flight.  The room was a nice size, but seemed dated and a bit worn.  The location is bit off the main drag of South Beach... but not crazy far.  Maybe a bit more attention to detail and service would bring them a higher end crown... but then again, maybe they don't need it?

Awesome place to have a pool party.  My friend decided to have his birthday party at the Mondrian which I thought was a bit strange.  I had never heard of the hotel, and wasn't too interested in paying the $20+for parking to have my car valet at the front door.  I'm so glad that gave it chance and attended.

Being told on the invitation that we needed to arrive early, we got to the hotel at 11 am.  We went on a Sunday.   At that time it was easy to get to the pool and there were no problems getting a chair and towels.  After 12 there was a bouncer at the front of the pool entrance with a guest list, and most of the seating was taken.

The wait staff was amazing, they were totally attentive   There was a masseuse giving out "free samples", the drinks were plenty and the food was pretty good as well.  I have been to other pool party venues, and while this did not compare to those in Vegas (perhaps an unfair comparison) there are no complaints.

4.25 stars, had to leave out .75 stars due MINOR details not being addressed (IE hallway corridors & unfinished rooms)

    Where do I start?

I need boat, If I had a boat I could just pull up my boat to the hotels doc.

TIP: if you don't have a boat find a friend with a boat to come pick you up at the hotel for a fun boat ride along Miamis beautiful Harbor.

    The pool:
infinity pool closes a little early but has the best west side sunset view in my opinion. Plenty of seating and the bar and waitstaff are very friendly.

    The Rooms;
One of the weaker points that is complimented by the view. There is a picture of a girl looking at me, got used to it after the 3rd night ;). I had a view of the Harbor and compared to the beach I personally love to view the water and city skyline while the sun is setting on the west side. Small details within the room are left out, IE the radio and bathrooms. (security asked us to turn down the TV at 3:00 PM when listening to music) -_-  not sure what that was about but it was no big deal.

    The Lobby:
Visited many high end hotels in the area and this place can keep up with the rest of them. The sunsets complement the staircase overlooking the Harbor. GOOD PICTURE SPOT

    Parking:
Not to good parking on the street but the valet are very friendly and helpful.

Solid 4 star experience would recommend to friends as an alternative to staying on the beach. A little heavy on the wallet.

Dave at the Pool is just amazing. He is the hardest worker at the pool.  He just keeps moving and setting up hotel guests with chairs, magazines and towels.  He also hooked up our daughter with some toys too.  He even remembered us on day two. Just amazing!!! The hotel is lucky to have such a dedicated worker.

Olga from room service was also really nice and took care of us too. She went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

Our room was incredible...we had a balcony overlooking the Bay and the pool. The bed was very comfy except for the 4 foot head of the girl staring at me all night (check my photos). I think her eyes moved!

The room had a small kitchen which was great but it only had a kettle and utensils. So you really cant cook on the stove and I forgot to pack my pots and pans!

The bathroom had the longest sink too (check photos again).  The shower was great but I didn't figure out the chandiler was also a rain shower until after I was done.

One dangerous area of the hotel room: The corners of the platform bed.  Every single one of us hit our ankles and two of us drew blood.  So be careful.  The room should come with orange cones or yellow caution tape!

The design of the hotel is really fantastic. My wife said it is decorated after Sleeping Beauties Castle. Everything is huge. The front door is like 30 feet high.  The lamp shade in the room is huge plus there is a giant one by the pool. The Cabanas are so much fun...best cabanas I've ever seen.

Back to Dave...we ran into him in the lobby and he was so kind. He gave us his business card and said if we needed help booking our next trip here to give him a call. This guy is superman. Also love his title too...Pool Concierge/Guest Experiences...now I understand why he was so good. He is there to make the guests time at the pool fun. Winning!!!

We would return here because of Dave.  He made the stay special. Thanks again for doing a great job.

We booked their two bedroom suite for a week but checked out early and went elsewhere. Here's why (in isolation they are forgivable but unacceptable all together for an self proclaimed '5 star' hotel):
Reservation taken incorrectly - needed manager to fix.
Clock in dining room didn't work. Room looked empty an uninviting. Every sound was amplified by the lack of furniture etc.
Requested sofa bed for 3rd adult but no linen upon checkin. Had to ask twice for linen - long wait.
Told restaurant was closed for our stay but room service available. However upon review there were no decent or healthy options available-Mostly pub food which left much to be desired.
Requested cooking items for stove. Only 1 pot was provided without cooking utensils. Knife also requested but told they couldn't supply (despite chopping board in room). Nothing provided except knives, forks, plates. At checkin we were told to ask for anything we needed but everything except pot was denied & told we could have concierge go out to buy (for a fee of course). We gave up asking for things. Unacceptable! Why have a kitchen if your guests can't use it?
It appears they decorated on the cheap. Tiles in the bathroom look sloppy, and storage space in the bathroom is minimal - be prepared to leave everything on one side of the sink (which is your benchtop).
As for the hotel...  The shallow pool was dirty. Beds around pool left unmade for entire 2 nights/ 3 days we were there.
Entire outdoor area looked worn, tired and was undressed (no cushioned sitting area etc as shown in photos) the entire time we were there.
Dim lights in business centre. Far from everything so you'll need a car.
Overall a disappointing experience. It appears as if the Mondrian set up a funky hotel but put in as little furniture as possible into the rooms making them echoey with every sound amplified - I love minimalist decor however they don't do it well... feels more like a no frills 4 star hotel.

    A few good things:
Clean, quiet, unique, original decoration in hotel (but needs a little more in rooms), lovely hotel staff, great valet, beautiful views of bay and city skyline, close to wholefoods.

Affordable luxury, humongous rooms, crisp, clean white sheets, and a fully stocked minibar. Valet is pricey at $37/night but I feel like it shouldn't be a big deal if you're going to spend nearly $300/night on a room.

The staff were extremely attentive. Our room was cool and modern, beautiful and swanky all at the same time. Loved the ambiance of the entire hotel, and the all-white lobby area. I will most likely return again.

NOTE: I stayed at the Mondrian for roughly 10 days. So things that I noticed about the hotel, one must stay for an extended period to notice.

    Ambiance: 4/5
The best part about the hotel is the outside pool area with the most awesome bay view of downtown Miami. I have to say, staying in a hotel away from the crazies was great! There is an outside bar with young ladies in bikinis as pool servers, a patio area to eat from the on-site restaurant, Asia de Cuba, large cabanas and a smaller pool on the other side. There were no problems with crying babies and unruly children and there is a reason for that. Actually, my entire time there I think I saw a total of one baby, and that was from my room balcony. The Mondrian is more of an adult hotel. They type of people that come and stay here are very trendy, young, chic, upper class folks there with daddy's credit card or there from somewhere in Europe. I found that there were many people staying there from Italy and other places (I love to people watch). The hotel is actually next to condos and can actually double as a condo. In the room there were brochures to purchase. The interior decor of the place was odd to me-- I'd never seen anything like it. Art deco-ish but not really. It was still beautiful, but not in the traditional way. We stayed in a bay view one bedroom suite on the 9th floor. Beautiful view! And overlooked the pool area. The room overall is very nice, the bathroom has a large rain shower and a combination counter/sink. I thought that was pretty cool. I was surprised that there was no bathtub. I found that odd for a hotel of this stature.

    Staff: 2/5
Everyone was very nice and pleasant for the most part, especially the valet. I was leaving out of a taxi and left my phone and he returned it to me. I was so surprised, grateful and shocked. I didn't mind giving them my money! I see people complaining about the steep valet prices but pretty much nowadays any upscale hotel you go to it's around that price, sometimes more! The problem I had with the staff was with room service and housekeeping (sideface). They would knock twice and come in the room like nothing! Don't wait for you to say anything. I could give them the benefit of the doubt because the Do Not Disturb sign was rarely on the outside, but who does that? Who knocks and doesn't wait for an answer? A couple times I was indecent and they just walked right in and apologized. The other problem I had was that room service and housekeeping, for some reason do not come at the same time. Very very annoying!! One person comes to stock the minibar/fridge, and a little later someone else comes to clean. I don't get that... and I have never had these problems in any other hotel. Lastly, there doesn't seem to be any particular schedule housekeeping adheres to. We would occasionally return to the room in the afternoon and the bed was still not made. We would know whether or not anyone had been to the room to clean yet because room service dishes would still be sitting in the hallways on the way back in. The front desk was very nice and helpful. Always on time when I needed them. And they are all beautiful people!

    Food: 3/5
I really am at a crossroads here. The service at the only restaurant on site, Asia de Cuba is phenomenal! There are managers walking around to make sure it is too. The food is just ok though. The food is exotic but not very flavorful to me. Nothing really blew me away like OMG BECKY blew me away. And it's super expensive. The restaurant itself has a great view of the bay and is situated right behind the pool area. There is a patio if you want to eat outside, which we did most of the time. The food from room service is also from the Asia de Cuba menu. My only thing is that I grew tired of the food quite quickly and had most of my meals at Oliver's, which is walking distance from the hotel. Like I said, the presentation is great and the service is outstanding. We were there so long that faces became familiar and people became even more friendly. There are also other restaurants (8oz Burger Bar and some wine bar place, forgot the name) that are in walking distance but Oliver's is the best!

    Overall Experience:3.5/5
Personally, I had a good stay at the Mondrian. Everyone was friendly and I enjoyed myself. I must mention that a couple nights I got in the bed and became very itchy! I inspected myself and had a lot of bumps on my legs. My friend experienced the same thing. Housekeeping changed all the linens and I did not have any itchies after that. It is quite POSSIBLE something could have bitten me in the taxi or outside or something and I just didn't feel it until I got in the bed...
Overall, I would recommend the Mondrian and would definitely return.

I can't think of a better hotel to be honest.  The value is incredible, and everyone from the hotel receptionists to the wait staff to David the pool manager, who has a smile and attitude that make you wonder why everyone in the world does not take a leaf out of his page, are just wonderful.
We enjoyed our stay here immensely, from the comfortable large rooms, ours with a bay view, to the breakfast which is ample and friendly, to chilling by the pool sipping endless cocktails custom made to order (less sugar and on and on)...
We ate by the pool several times, and loved it each time.
I recommend going somewhere else for a real pumping day time party, but for the service, food, and comfort, the Mondrian is the place to be.

Awesome hotel and great service. I booked one of the condo units through Jet Suites and didn't realize it wasn't through the Mondrian but you get all the amenities except house cleaning through the hotel. This through a service that Jet Suites contracts out. The room was spacious and I love the fact that it had a kitchen area with a fridge. The hotel is on the opposite end of Ocean Drive. When i heard that originally I thought wow, that would be far to get to if I was over there often. I didn't find myself over there much and the area around the Mondrian is much better. It's away from all the noise and right across from a Whole Foods.
The pool was nice and the gym overlooked the water. I stayed here for about a week and my only complaint was that parking at the hotel was about $30 something so I ended up not renting a car. You do need a car when you are traveling to downtown or even to all the nice restaurants. I did end up spending quite a bit on a taxi but I guess it would have been the same since I would have had to find parking everywhere I went.
It didn't notice all the loud music that other people mentioned.
I would definitely stay here again.

Giving the Mondrian 5 stars is a bit generous on my part, however I had such a pleasant experience the last time I went. So my amazing cousin decided to buy us groupons for a spa day which led me back to this place! I'm so happy it did. I love the spa. It is small, but chic and intimate unlike Lapis at the Fountainbleu which I call the meatmarket spa. Mondrian is soo relaxing. Although my masseuse wasn't necessarily amazing (I get massages regularly) she was good! I love how even if they are really booked, the spa never feels like it's full. It almost feels empty but then you run into other gals in the locker rooms which are extremely well kept. After our massages we went to go hang out by the pool and had some drinks and bites. I must warn you though, there's a $50 minimum per person. No, you cannot order everything off one tab. I had this drink called the 1400 West (named after the address of the Mondrian) and it was a refreshing champagne and liquor drink. We then had some kale salads and they were nice and big. The pool attendants were super attentive from the moment we got there and Lindsey our waitress was a sweetheart as well. The first time I went to the Mondrian for the spa, I was looking forward to going to the pool but there was some pool party full going on. Not my scene. But this time, it wasn't full at all. We even made friends with some out of town-ers. What a great day it was.

Good job Mondrian. I'll be back!

    This review is biased.

I loved the hotel and the amenities but the the unit we stayed in on the 14th floor (forgot unit number) gave us a lot of trouble.

His name is Michael and he rented it to our group for the weekend.

Michael who seemed to be accommodating only turned around for the worse after we had gotten back from our Miami bachelorette trip.

He accused us of stealing his towels and didn't return the security deposit back to our friend who initially booked the room.

First of all, let's try to make sense of this. Why would anyone steal towels that are dirty and have been used by others? That is just disgusting.

We are ethical KOREAN girls who like better quality towels to begin with and don't steal other people's belongings, only boyfriends. haha Just kidding.

Either way, this venue gets 3 starts because I LOVE the Mondrian Hotel.

If you happen to book a condo at this location and it is by a person name Michael, please be aware of his tactics.

He's giving this venue a bad name.

Aside from the room, the pool was spectacular and there were plenty of beach chairs. Some faced the pool and some faced the beautiful ocean with a gorgeous view!

Stayed here 4 nights with my three besties for a much needed girls' trip. From the bartenders to the pool staff - Absolutely the best staff I have come across at any SoBe hotel! They're friendly, funny, remembered us, checked in on us and most importantly took such good care of us that we left the Shore Club pool after an hour just to feel more "at home". Local Miami resident went over to  the restaurant for breakfast.

    Pros: Atmosphere, views, background music.

Cons: Overpriced mediocre food (awfully cooked scrambled eggs, they tasted like they were cooked in a dirty pan) not to mention slow service, I guess there is not much motivation when the tips are included already in the bill.

From the guest services at check-in who were incredibly warm and professional - thank you very much for the upgrade of our room. It was beautiful and the view was magnificent. Rosa - the concierge - cheers for all the tips! We did not make it to Little Havana but we made it to all the other places you recommended. Cheers and keep smiling!!!

To the guys at the pool... your service and commitment to your guests is impressive. Thank you for keeping us cool under our umbrellas...for constantly checking in on us...we were never short of anything. HARRY - You are the king!!! Thanks for taking good care of us...you have a great team by the pool!! . Don't ever lose that spark! Special thanks to Josh and David! Josh...your African safari awaits you... when your time comes, I hope you catch the best wave surfing in South Africa!

This is probably one of the most beautiful hotels that I've ever stayed in.  When we arrived, it was pouring rain and the pool was overflowing with water but that didn't stop us from waiting in the covered lounge area outside while we were waiting for our room to be cleaned.  We stayed in a 1 bedroom studio and as you can see from the pictures, the rooms are gorgeous.  Marcel Wanders, the artist that designed these rooms is such a talented man that I wish he could come to my place and design my entire condo.  The whole Hollywood Glam look was right up my alley.

My only regret is that our stay was so short (only 1 night).  We never got to experience the hotel restaurant, the pool, or any of the other amenities.

Ahh, I guess I will have to come back.  Sounds like a plan.

I will not stay at this hotel again. The rooms were large but more time had been spent on the design than making the rooms useful and practical. Examples: there was nowhere to put your things in the bathroom, no shelf, no nothing. There was only a tinted mirror in the room with daylight. The only non-tinted mirror was in the bathroom with bad lights. The handle in the shower kept on falling off its hold, this must have been noticed by the house keeping.

The safe was situated at the top of the wardrobe, making it impossible to access without standing on a chair. (I am 5 ft 7'). There was only one armchair so if two persons wanted to sit and watch TV one hade to sit in the bed.

House keeping came late every day, even though we called seeral times. Normally they would come around 5 pm - far too late. The room let in a lot of noice from the corridor, not to mention the slamming in the doors where the linen was kept.

The best thing about the hotel was the pool area and the service minded staff there and at the front desk. Still, not enough to compensate for all draw backs.

Overpriced pretentious hotel. No security either.   Anybody can just walk in the front door. No-one gives a f*ck.

The pool is super hot, beautiful people, good music, the place to be.
The pool water is curiously warm, too warm.

The rooms are just weird. Not comfortable. The hallways are dark, too dark.

$600 a night for the room, $15 a day for wifi?  That's just wrong.

Better signage or ANY SIGNAGE out front would be a tad helpful.

I'll go back to the pool for free and I'll stay elsewhere.

I really cannot say enough good things about the Mondrian South Beach. Stayed here for 4 days, 3 nights on a mini-vacation and from the moment I walked into the hotel lobby I knew I had picked the right place. The lobby itself, with its white tile and high ceilings leading to the floating staircase, dining, and Sunset Lounge exudes an air of self-assured class.

Of course, a hotel should be judged by the quality of the rooms and in this aspect the Mondrian went beyond what I imagined. I had a bay-view studio and despite not having a balcony, the nearly wall to wall windows afforded an excellent view of the bay. Large mirrors in the room, bathroom, and shower lend a sense of volume to an already spacious room, and they would certainly appease those of us with a more visual aesthetic. The king's bed was very comfortable and the shower (big enough for 3!) had an amazing shower head which made the water seem as if it were coming from the overhanging light fixture. It may have been my particular floor or time of year but at no point was I disturbed by noise from other rooms.

The other areas of the hotel were such that I comfortably stayed in or close to hotel grounds for the majority of my stay. The Sunset Lounge offers an unparalleled view of, what else, the sun setting over Biscayne Bay. They also offer a can't be beat happy "hour" by which the price of each drink or appetizer corresponds to the time of day (e.g. $5 drinks from 5-6 pm, $8 drinks or apps from 8-9 pm). This happy hour (5-9 pm) is 7 days a week. Finally, while the pool itself is not exceptional, the view from poolside overlooking the bay is nothing short of superlative. I certainly had a wonderful time relaxing pool-bayside and watching the yachts go by. There was a DJ over the weekend playing mostly chillwave. It was definitely not a wild party scene but relaxing and fun in its own way. Guests at the hotel ranged from couples to young families.

Finally, guest services from the representatives at the front desk to the people at the pool to the bartenders were courteous, accommodating, and friendly.

So, why not five-stars? I found the gym and the pool itself somewhat lacking. They weren't bad necessarily, just on the small side. The hotel hallways were somewhat dilapidated. Wi-fi also costs an extra fee, although that fee was waived as I had booked through Jetsetter.

Overall, the lasting impression I will have of the Mondrian is its exquisite attention to detail. I would certainly come back on a return trip to Miami and it certainly makes me curious as to its other boutique locations.

Don't believe it when they say your check-in time is 3.  It's now over 90+ minutes later and all they say is "soon."  Other people waiting for given comps, we got nothing but that's the price of being nice.  The place looks nice but the "welcoming staff" is anything.  Unacceptable.  Careless.  Thoughtless.

The facial with Maria was amazing but the massage was terrible , the girl was sweet , but had no idea about what is a deep tissue massage .
The front desk girl at the check in was very nice and gave us a room facing the ocean .

I hosted a meeting at the Mondrian South Beach in July and I was torn about what rating to give the hotel as there were so many positive things about the hotel, but also some negative things we encountered too.

Overall, a great hotel - nice location out of the hustle and bustle with amazing views of the bay and Miami skyline, large, modern rooms, cool details - chandelier in the shower etc., great lounge, great spa and amazing front desk staff.  I only wish the housekeeping staff could be as amazing as the front desk staff!

Nothing but good things to say about their restaurant - can't speak for their lounge or hotel rooms, but I will say my piece about their wonderful eating area and restaurant.

Come on a Friday or Saturday evening and watch the sun go down (slightly indirect, but still beautiful). Sit facing the Bay. View of the pool and Bay is like no other. Bring a small group, not larger than, say, four or five people. Geared towards 21+ -mid 30s crowd. Very pleasant waiting staff. Waiting staff consistently comes back to the table to make sure your water is topped off, something sometimes overlooked in high-traffic, touristy areas such as South Beach. Service is splendid, period. On occasion, the chef will give a complimentary and *complementary* small shot of a tasty spirit/liquor/liqueur.

Specializes in Asian-Hispanic fusion fare. Does not disappoint. Excellently prepared sushi, tasty grouper, tasty seafood dishes (*crab-cakes) - you can't go wrong. Depending on what you order, certain dishes may seem slightly smaller than what you think you might get from a high-end hotel eatery such as this, but this place excels in "quality over quantity."

Specialized drinks, such as daiquiris and the like, real and virgin alike, are superb in craftsmanship.

I may add more to this review at a later date but for now, this will be all.

Each room had a picture of a girl with huge eyes staring at you which was kind of creepy. Other than that the room was perfect. Very spacious, lots of room to spread out and get comfy. Water pressure in miami showers is low in general so not going to fault them on that, but the showers had a cool chandelier for the water to come out of.

    Gym:
Pretty big for a hotel gym, clean, and great machines. Best was the view of the pool: beautiful!

    Service:
Amazing! We didn't sleep well our second night due to a noisy room next door. When we mentioned this at check out, the manager treated us to lunch at the sunset lounge, their poolside restaurant. Everything we had there was delish!!

    Location:
Across the street from a Starbucks and whole foods which was convenient. Just a few blocks away from ocean drive. Great location overall, but keep in mind it's not super close to the beach or party scene if you're hoping to step out of your hotel and be right there.

    Would stay here again!

Awesome happy hour. Can't beat the prices.l and the system of adding a $1 per hour until 9pm. Good was not bad too but a little skimpy for the prices.

This place makes you feel like a superhero--from the fancy fantastical interiors to the outgoing accommodating staff.

As with almost every other place in the world, there's always room for improvement; the furniture in the rooms could use some updating. But that's the only downside.

I love the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, the backyard... oh, did I mention the staff?

I simply can't say enough good things about this place. The staff is simply amazing. The views are spectacular at sunset (best sunset bar in all of SOBE). The rooms are very modern, chic, and cool. It feels like the place where the models and stars would all hang out.

Also, they have a happy hour every day!  $5 at 5:00pm, $6 at 6:00pm, etc...Great food and drinks. Ask for Mac at the bar. He is the best.

David and Gwinn are two of the gentlemen that work the pool. They will take great care of you.

One note, this is not a great place for families or kids. While there were a few here, I feel that there are other places far more suited for that. Also, there are a few topless sunbathers here...not really a kid friendly atmosphere.

Get a studio room that faces the bay!!!!

The staff are very friendly however, the hotel is way overpriced with it's cheesy, dated decor.  Our $500 room has a beautiful view but seriously, the hard couch has no back pillows and the only other place to sit is on the one Ikea wobbly chair?  The main tv didn't work when we checked in at 10 pm, the operator gave us incorrect instructions on the free internet that cost us $15.00, several outlets didn't work when trying to charge our phones, the platform bed is way too soft.
On the wall in the living room is a painting of some bugged out girl - creepy, not sexy or trendy.
The room service menu was missing causing another hotel staff wait.. Overall, the IKEA look and feel is just not pleasant, looking forward to our next stop.
Tried to watch a movie On Demand, like everything else in this room, it didn't work.  Front desk says they don't really offer On Demand but for a price, we can rent a DVD player - what decade are they in??

Staff super helpful -very kind. Def can tell this was a condo conversion so if you are looking for large rooms or are here for a longer stay it's a good choice. They have happy hour at the pool even on a Friday! The pool has an amazing view of the bay and a hip lobby. I got a great deal from hoteltonight, but received better room at last nights hotel. They didn't even know what hotel tonight was at check in and I didn't get upgraded.

Was extremely happy with my stay here from start to finish. Requested an early check in and the room was ready at 11:30 AM. Pool area was fabulous and attendants were helpful and accommodating. Room decor while not my style was fun and chic. Had a beautiful view of the city. The bed a little low to the ground but comfy. Recommend purchasing a package with the continental breakfast included.  It was well worth it. The inside bartenders were not the least bit personable and the outside bar staff needs to cut off those who have been over served.  I will recommend this hotel.

    The good:
*Did not miss being on the beach. They have a very nice pool area facing the Bay.
*Hotel seemed to be very clean
*Service was excellent and employees were very helpful.
*Close to Flamingo Park., which has a new track to work out on (opens at 7am).
*Whole Foods and Starbucks a short walk.

    The Bad:
*Hotel gave off a Hard Rock Hotel in Miami vibe.
*Bad for people don't appreciate really loud music all day around the pool
*Bad for people who don't like late night noise/partying around the pool.
*Bad If you are light sleeper. Tip- be sure to ask for a city side room.
*Not a hotel designed for children/families. Geared to the under 30 set.
*Did not feel like hotel had any security. On a Friday night people were yelling, chattering, carrying on around the pool between 12am and 5am.- no one from the Hotel seemed to be looking out for the other guests.

Live and learn..over all, the hotel did not provide a relaxing experience (which is what I was looking for). Will stay elsewhere next time I visit Miami Beach.

Limited food menu. Asia de Cuba is closed which I was not informed of when booking.

The restaurant is open  for an expensive breakfast buffet of melon and cereal. Slow service at pool, be careful or your drinks (16$ each) will be tossed while ur in the pool.

Cabana boys very fast to help set up chairs and even charged my cell phone for me.

150$ per night hold put on your credit card which was fine but since I was not informed of this when booking my week long stay I was a bit shocked when $1050 of my money was frozen all week upon check in.

Nice happy hour prices in bar only and bartender was very nice and attentive. Same 8$ glass of wine will be 16$ if u step outside during happy hour.

I have stayed at The Delano many times and thought I would give their sister hotel a try and I MUST ADMIT The Mondrian has the absolute most beautiful pool side view I have ever seen.

The sunset view  is breath taking, the pool is lovely and I really loved the "snow white" themed décor.

The jet ski rental guys were super nice and I loved riding the jet skis in the bay.

Bell hops extremely courteous and never missed the beat on opening doors or helping me with packages and luggage or hailing a cab.

Front desk staff extremely friendly unlike alot of hotels, not snobby at all and hats off to the room service chef who made me a lovely pasta dish which was not on the menu late one night.

About a mile walk or 7$ cab to beach.

You can charge beach chairs at Delano to ur room at Mondrian but no food or drinks.(Take your own sodas unless you want to spend 7.65$ for a can of diet coke there, yes ONE CAN). I don't mind spending more money for things while on vacation but that price was laughable.

Rooms are extremely nice and spacious and super clean. Kitchen in room is very functional.

House keeping is lightening fast. Toiletries are very  nice. Staff is helpful and very nice but very long wait for service poolside (even though the servers are extremely sweet). Order a pitcher of one of their lovely mixed drinks so you don't have to wait after every drink. Although the "Miami Vice" drink is worth the wait.

Very close to whole foods and Walgreens and other nice eats. Be sure to walk two blocks to Oliver's, you won't be disappointed. And Starbuck's is right on the corner. Over all I had a wonderful stay and will be back again!

I divided my sun time between The Mondrian pool and The Delano Beach Club, do The Delano early and Mondrian later in the day for the most gorgeous view of sunset. Over all I had a fantastic stay and will be back.

    GORGEOUS hotel!

I have nothing but love for the Mondrian Hotel.

From the moment we drove up the driveway - to the way the front desk handled our check in - to the most amazing time at the pool ... it was all dreamy !

Seriously, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are pretty roomy and feel super clean.

The pool area is quite nice overlooking the bay and the pool staff really made our vacation ! They were so attentive to our needs and we felt very appreciated as guests.

The bar and food situation are on point as well. We had numerous pitchers of some of the most refreshing cocktails and after that ... the rest is a bit of a blur.

Thank you for making my vacation special !

I stayed at the Mondrian for a week to finish off the last week of my honeymoon. My wife and I were in Jamaica for 2 weeks and since we were on the east coast, decided to stay in Miami for a week.

This hotel is beautiful. Very modern design and decor. I had a penthouse 1 bedroom suite and it was beautiful. Very spacious. The room was all white. The furniture and decor, again modern and chic. Very upscale. The pool area is great. Overlooking the ocean with a view of downtown Miami across the way.  Also Very close to Miami beach and Ocean dr. Otherwise known as south beach.

The only downfall is parking. With valet as the only option, I'm ok with valet, but to pay $37 per night? was ridiculous. Other than that the hotel staff were very friendly and made you feel welcomed.

Ok. I love this hotel for all reasons one shouldn't. It's a party place! I love that the hotel is all about a fun vibe and relaxed hotel security. I stayed next to a room with a group of 20 something camp counselors partying all night... We were there for a good time so we became friends. With that being said, if your looking for a ritzy upscale, room service amazement go elsewhere.
Room service... Needs a training program. Front desk clued us in on that. If you need something from them you have to call the front desk. We ordered cups to our room and we got them 20minutes later and then we got 3 different ppl knocking on our door with cups. Lol. It felt natural by the end we didn't question it.
We were told there was going to be a pool party on Sunday but there wasn't.
What else- parking! $38/day.  What?!!!!!! Btw, miami tip: a parking ticket in sobe is $18. - we didn't get one.
Overall, great place to stay if you want to have a good time in miami.

From the moment we stepped out of the cab and Nick greeted us at the door, we were hooked.  Ariel at the front desk was so accommodating!  The decor is great, and although some think that the big Barbie-like head that is throughout the hotel is creepy, I love her!  She makes the hotel very unique!  We arrived at the pool and were immediately taken to lounge chairs with a perfect view of the pool and Biscayne Bay by the friendliest pool boy you will ever meet: David!  The happy hour at the Mondrian Sunset Lounge is a great idea: $5 at 5pm, $6 at 6pm, $7 at 7pm, etc.  Our bartender (Samir) was extremely attentive!  We stayed in unit 612, which had 2 double beds, a kitchenette with breakfast table, a good sized bathroom and a balcony overlooking the pool and Biscayne Bay.  Gorgeous!!  The 6th floor was perfect for the view and wasn't too close or too far from the pool...just right!  The workout room has everything that you need to get a great workout in.  The walk to Ocean Drive is only about 7-10 minutes.  We aren't big into the all-night-long nightlife every day that we are here, so it made more sense for us to stay on the Bay side where it's mostly locals and just walk to the loud area when we felt the need for being in the touristy area.  There is a Whole Foods across the street, which is great if you plan to have a few meals in and cook.  There are 2 burners on the stove, a microwave and a Keurig coffee maker.  Although I love the rooms and decor, the people here make it really special.  I highly recommend this hotel!

    2.  ... without having to be ON the Beach or a part of the extreme hustle bustle
    3.  Gorgeous decor: vintage and a bit on the feminine side
    4.  Quiet but with easy access to lots of fun venues
    5.  Good restaurant inside, cool bar inside, great view outside (skip the club and go somewhere else)

Looking for a swank, South Beach hotel?  Looking to be in the middle of the action Collins?  This is not the place for you.  Looking for peace and quiet?  They have got you covered here.

The Mondrian South Beach is located on the southwest side of Miami Beach on a quiet street overlooking the bay and downtown.  Heck, there isn't even a big sign outside the place.  Once inside, it is pure Morgans Group atmosphere: sleek, lots of white walls and dim lighting.  It is relaxing.  The staff are friendly here.  I was warmly greeted by many members of the staff.

My reason for 3 stars is that I came here for dinner and now that Asia de Cuba is gone, there isn't much left after dark.  Yes, they serve dinner, but when I arrived around 9pm or so, they were only serving food at the bar.  The bar was basically empty and the rest of the place seemed empty.  I had a drink and went elsewhere. I would recommend going here on Sundays as they have a great pool party.

    Just loved it here!

Staff is fantastic. The lobby bar has great happy hour specials and the Mondrian Mule was so good.

The room was fantastic. Clean, quiet, great views, and great amenities. Only bummer was a pretty jank iron and horrible ironing board in the room. That being my biggest complaint isn't really all that bad!!!

The chandelier shower, like most of the small touches, were unique little bits that made it even more charming. The low bed took a moment to get used to but was very comfy. Pool was gorgeous but our stay was too short to really enjoy that part...next time I guess!!!

Huge thank you to Rosa with the concierge who was tremendously helpful as well.

Very disappointing. Where do start...? The Mondrian is IKEA meets a Starck-imposter. Trying to be chic and minimalist but it just seems cheap.
We had a one bedroom which was spacious but there was no dresser and a tiny closet (18" wide).  I kept all my clothes in my luggage on the floor (no luggage rack either). Annoying.
The bathroom had no counter space and terrible lighting throughout the room so getting ready /makeup was a challenge. An iron but no ironing board.
The shower did not even have a soap dish so everything was on the floor - yuck!
The pool is okay, it's quiet and understaffed. Although the staff was very service oriented, there was not enough so we waited a long time for menus, then drinks, then food.  The view is industrial - see photo - and they were doing construction but made no effort to conceal it. Not even a "pardon our appearance" sign.
The location is too far from the strip - a 20 min brisk walk to Lincoln Rd. Or a short cab ride and completely dead - v little other than condos.  The bar was dead on Saturday night, location is not conducive.
This place is good for someone on a budget that doesn't mind being away from the energy of Miami.  Stay on the strip and be close to the heart of SoBe, even if you don't want the scene, there are plenty of better options.

I stayed at the Mondrian this past week and had a far different experience than my last stay 2 years ago. I was in a penthouse floor 1 bedroom bay view suite with a full living room. As soon as you walk off the elevator the hallway is dirty and stained, it smelled of marijuana, and you could hear just about everyone in their rooms.

The room itself is in serious need of updating. The yellow chair in the bedroom was dirty and stained; obviously had never been washed. The bed was fine but the lack of a fitted sheet made it extremely uncomfortable as you would wake up partially on the mattress, which is disgusting.

In regards to the bathroom, the ceiling of the shower was cracked and peeling away, and when you used the overhead portion of the shower head it sprayed up and over the glass partition onto the floor. Also, when we wanted clean towels the second day the housekeeper told us she didnt have any to give us, which I find ridiculous. I just expected more from a $500 a night hotel room.

The most frustrating part is that the Mondrian's bar used to be known for their drinks. You might have seen this on TV before: drinkingmadeeasy.com/sho…

In that show, and in other shows I have seen, the hotel is "famous" for making hand crafted cocktails, specially a chili passion caipirinha. This is the link to how the drink was made on another TV show at the hotel as well. youtube.com/watch?v=5u-1… This is ALSO how the drink was made at the pool and the bar when I was there 2 years ago, and was delicious. However, when we ordered them this time it all of the drinks were made with Tropics pre-made mix. The two types of drinks dont remotely compare, and the new manner is simply lazy and gross compared to a handmade muddled drink with fresh ingredients. It should also be kept in mind that the drink costs $15.00 and then gratuity is included, which is the same price as the former appropriately made version.

In addition, on Wednesday and Thursday the pool does not have large containers of water for the guests, but they do on Friday and Saturday. The only good thing I have to say about the hotel this trip was Dave at the pool, who was the only one that treated you like you mattered.

Place has gone down hill pretty far in 2 years.

This hotel has been nicely renovated. It was about time since everything looked faded and torn in the pool area.  I applied for the locals card and it's been nothing but a disaster. The first time we were put on a wait list for lawn chairs. When we went back a few hours later to check the pool hostess told us she forgot about us. What's the point of a wait list then? Then to make matter worse, when we got out bill we handed the bar tender our locals card and weren't given the 20% discount. We were a total of 5 locals. We had lunch and drinks. We spoke to the manager and he said he would take care of it. I guess he didn't because we went back a second time and the bartenders didn't give us a discount on our drinks. 3rd time going and again no discount on beverages only good now they say it's a $50 minimum to lay out on a chair. The same is being offered as before the locals card. Nothing special about the locals card if we don't get a lawn chair or the correct discounts that are offered.  Your staff is disorganized and are clueless about the locals card and the discounts offered. Hope you get your act together because word gets spread very quickly with the locals that you aren't offering anything but lies.

Not one positive thing to same about our lunch, some examples:
    - service was terrible, took 6 requests for water to get water for the table
    - our bill was brought to our table before our food came out (our waitress thought we had eaten already)
    - a burger was cooked far beyond well done and it was so dry
    Overall would recommend skipping

The Mondrian pool is a chill spot to relax and get drinks (approx $16 a cocktail). Beautiful landscaping and the whole place oozes cool luxury. When I was there around 4pm on a Thursday, they happened to be playing Stan Getz-esque music, which heightened the escapist, resort vibe they do so well. The bar service is attentive & friendly and my mango smoothie was delicious! This place is South Beach at its best. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Mondrian this past week, and it was just A-Ok.

First, we liked the pool, which is bigger than most in South Beach and had a beautiful view of the Biscayne Bay.  We also appreciated the affordability of the bar, especially during happy hour.  Our suite was spacious and the gym a decent size with nice equipment.  The bed was super comfortable.

The negatives outweighed the positives such that we probably wouldn't stay there again.  First, the location isn't very convenient to Lincoln Road (~10-15 minute walk) or Ocean Drive (5-10 minute cab ride).  The internet, while free, was unreliable.  The decor in the room seemed cheap.  The bed platform was outright dangerous; I walked into it multiple times as the corners stuck out significantly beyond the mattress.  The design of the sink in the bathroom was unique but not functional (minimal dry counter space).  The shower door was not sealed adequately and water leaked all over the floor.  Lastly, there was no bathtub which may not be a big deal for most people, but was for me.

We got an amazing deal on the Mondrian, but even so, there were better located hotels at the same price point.  I'm glad we tried it but I'd prefer to go somewhere else next time.

I don't normally write reviews but I feel the need to share my wonderful experience staying here. The atmosphere is fantastic and watching the sunset over the pool is pure magic, but the thing that made this the perfect vacation is Robert Munn. He is the overnight supervisor who made a frustrating trip from snow covered nyc fantastic.

After being stuck on the tarmack at jfk for over an hour and being seated next to the most annoying person on the flight the last thing I wanted was for anything else to go wrong. And of course Miami being Miami the road we were supposed to take with the cab was closed and the drive took longer than expected. I was exhausted.

But from the moment we arrived, Robert took care of us. He was nothing but positive. Expedited our check in and comped us our first round of drinks to help us unwind.

I normally stay at the Delano or the SLS hotel, but after this experience I think this might be my new go to hotel.

Came here for an overnight stay before my friend's wedding. We arrived around 10 & were greeted by valet (btw, if you are not staying at the hotel, valet will be almost $40). Check in was quick, the hotel was beautiful, and the elevator was quick and quiet.

The room itself had a bay view, which also means you are relatively close to the pool. So expect to hear loud chatter even 5 floors up. The room had a keurig coffee maker (my favorite part), a little kitchenette, and a big comfy bed.

The first turnoff about this hotel was the price of many breakfast items. Why are sliders cheaper than eggs? I ended up just walking the block to Starbucks. Also, wifi is included "for a nominal daily charge". Come on Mondrian. Even Mcdonalds and the Hojo has free wifi.

Strolled in here on a Sunday to visit my friend and was taken a back by the half naked girls running around in bathing suits in 60 degree weather.. I knew I was at a hotel because majority of Miami peeps are wearing sweaters and maybe even boots in that weather.. hahah. The bar outside was nice and busy. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the drinks were reasonably priced. Sasha the bartender was very friendly and funny. The place has a Great view! And if you go right before Sunset, can be very romantic and pleasurable. recommended!

Excellent hotel with nice amenities including pool, spa, and very nice and spacious rooms. The front desk and valet staff are FIRST CLASS! Very helpful and friendly. The only mediocre part of the hotel is the cleaning staff. Maybe it was just me but they never cleaned my room on time and kept reusing the same dirty pillow cases and robes. I don't speak Spanish so I could not communicate with them personally asking for towels. Best recommendation is to call the front desk and someone will come with towels or robes. Otherwise the property is beautiful. The lobby, bar lounge and pool are gorgeous. We had no problem catching an uber or taxi. About 2 blocks away is a Walgreens and Whole foods! I would def come back!

Our room had wall paper torn out in the bathroom and was just poorly maintained in general. Also the beds should be bigger for the money you pay..a full size bed for $330 bucks??!! Terrible.

Visit number 2 and couldn't be happier. Warning, be vary careful renting from private owners here. Our first 4 nights were absolute hell as we rented from #oasiscollections. Turns out the owner has been blacklisted by the hotel. What did that mean for us? No access to supplies and locked out at least daily because she was not authorized to give out keys. I will spare you the rest of the gory details. After fighting for 4 days for a refund we checked into the real Mondrian. The service is beyond compare, attentive and efficient and the upgrade; for our pain... 15th floor with a balcony. Thank you Mondrian for rewarding what will be our continued loyalty.

This review pertains to the pool at the Mondrian.

Promo Pool Parties. Beautiful Bay Views. Pool Lounging is Modern. Wait/Towel Service On-Point. Drinks are Unaffordable.

I've frequented this pool more than any others on South Beach primarily because the Mondrian hosts a variety of promotional events on-location and I keep coming back for more! First off, parking is expensive so I recommend taking an uber or parking on the street outside and/or around the hotel. Also, there is a parking garage by Starbucks on West Ave and the rates are reasonable for the area.

The hotel lobby is inviting and the bar is on your way out to the pool. Bathrooms are very dark and are around the corner from the bar sitting area.

The POOL. It's small, but cozy. The seating is plentiful and even in the case of the special events I attended, I was always able to find somewhere to nest. Immediately upon entering the pool deck, I was greeted by waitstaff and given a plush, bright yellow towel. There is a shallow pool off to the side (secondary from the main pool) which I like to put my feet in and enjoy the views of the bay and boats. In addition, there are also changing tents on the balcony overlooking the bay. I've never used any of the private cabanas which are housed in luscious, greenery on the edges of the pool deck, but I suppose this would be a nice thing for anyone looking for a reserved space to host a birthday party, etc. with privacy.

The bar on the pool deck is nothing to get excited about and I lowered the rating 1-star because of this. Prices are expensive ($12-20 per cocktail and 18% gratuity is automatic for anywhere you visit on the island) - for basic drinks such as rum/coke, mojitos, etc. - I can understand paying these prices for a gourmet cocktail which you might find at Tongue & Cheek, The Regent Cocktail Club, or Repour. Sometimes the hotel offers drink specials and I believe the inside bar actually has a sort of happy hour during the week (inquire directly with the hotel). I've never been around to experience these specials and usually I don't purchase anything poolside.

I would recommend this pool to anyone that attends for a special event or party. It is a beautiful location and somewhere to relax for a few hours on a weekend.

Hotel is posh with cool sexy new interior design features. The pool scene is FANTASTIC, very welcoming and friendly with great staff. Beautiful cityfront view. The front desk greets you with a free drink, however that does not include "sugarfree" redbull. That was considered "special" according to the bartender and exceeded $1 in the $15 limit! So he made us pay. Unfortunately, their housekeeping deserves a very poor rating (1 star). We arrived on Sunday 3/22 and our room was a studio city view, not clean upon arrival, and was missing standard elements including hand towels, a bottle opener, cork screw, and hair dryer. We called 3 times, yes 3, for a hair dryer and it took 50 minutes to deliver!

I spent the day at the Pool recently and had an amazing time. The view was stunning. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was very attentive , friendly and knowledgable. My server Haili was very sweet and friendly ; she took great care of me. Kudos to the manager on duty , Jefferson, he came by to make sure everything was going well and invited my friends and I back. I'm so happy to see the service in south beach improving. I can't wait to come back. Thank you

My first true trip to Miami beach was made that much better because of my stay at the Gorgeous & yet funky Mondrian. Thank you Natia? Natalia? And Robert for their hospitality at the front desk. All staff were really friendly & accommodating. My only tiny suggestion is better lighting in the bathroom. It was a little dark. And I guess it's just a style preference, but the giant doll head art in my room kinda stares at you while in bed!? Ha.maybe I'm just too new to Miami culture? I'll be back to Mondrian for sure.

I stayed here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary back in December. The valets were genuinely friendly and made us feel welcomed. The girl at the front desk was nice. She upgraded our room.

I found the room to be a good size. While we didn't have a balcony in our room we had a spectacular view of the pool and Biscayne bay. The girl on the wall is a little goofy but different. I loved the rainfall shower. It was friggin awesome. I also appreciated the Malin & Goetz shower products.

My favorite thing in the hotel was the pool. I had my chair setup facing the bay with an unobstructed view. David took good care of us each day. Ashley was our server and she was awesome. Ashley was super friendly and cute as well. She provided us with top notch service each day at the pool.

We ate at the pool for lunch each day. We had the Mondrian burger and the tacos. We both agreed that the burger was the clear winner between the two. The meat was well seasoned and it melted in my mouth. The sauce they used was really good. The waffle fries unfortunately sucked every day. They were served cold and they were limp. I found the food and drink prices to be cheap which was a nice surprise.

In summary this is one of the few hotels that I enjoy staying at while having a staycation in Miami. I loved the fact that it is located on West Ave. which is a quiet residential street. You're away from the noise and craziness of Sobe, however, it is in close proximity. I'm looking forward to my next visit here.

Customer service is bar none here. The atmosphere is perfect , beautifully designed , beautiful people and beautiful views of Miami Beach. Being from Cali I'm used to great properties on the water but this place is like no other. Our room was huge lined with large windows over looking their main pool . Room service was tasty and on time.

    We'll be back for sure!

This was my third trip to the Mondrian this year for business. The hotel always looks beautiful, the rooms are great, the pool and the view are incredible and the food is lovely. But the staff are what makes the Mondrian, quite simply the best customer service. The sunset at the pool area is unforgettable. The pool area itself is a joy to be at any time of day. The location is perfect-close to the action in South Beach, but yet is an oasis a bit removed where one can get away to relax.

The Quick: Although I haven't stayed here, it's an amazing spot for happy hour with reasonable prices, incredible views for sunset, and a short walk from the beach.

The Details: I have never stayed here, but I have gotten quite drunk at the happy hour and have had a great time watching the sunset over the bay. It's a gorgeous trendy hotel with attentive staff and strong drinks. The food is all good bar food with Cuban flair, but it's the drinks and the view that will keep you coming back.

The Damage: The happy hour includes drinks and food which range from $5-$10 ... An incredible deal for south beach and perfect for a nibble before bigger dinner plans or a nap before partying the night away. Drink up!

My husband and I celebrated our second anniversary here recently. Based on all the reviews I was super excited about our visit.

We ended up having a mixed experience here. There are some things I wish we knew about the place before booking, so I thought I'd share.

The place is definitely a good hotel for families. However, perhaps not so great for a couple seeking a quiet and relaxing time. The hotel is very conveniently located. A 5 min drive from Lincoln Street shops and there is a Starbucks and a Wholefoods within walking distance.

Rooms: The rooms are modern and clean. The first night we arrived, the hotel was oversold, and we were holed up in a studio (we paid for a one bedroom suite.) However, we were compensated by being upgraded to a much nicer room the next day.

For anyone considering a stay, definitely a bay side room is highly recommended.
The downside to their rooms is the sound insulation. It was poor all around. Inside the studio, the hallway noises were quite loud throughout the evening. Even when we moved to a one bedroom suite, the sound insulation wasn't much better. We could hear kids playing in the pool as early as 8am, people talking in the hall way, and the fridge and the water heater gave off a loud sound pretty much the entire time.

Service: The service was mixed - We had outstanding service from Nathia at the front of the house, and Miguel the bellman. They were consistently courteous and exceeded our expectations.

However, there were some misses--Our friends sent us some amenities, which were not delivered to the room due to the fact that we had a DND sign on the door. Therefore, we did not receive them until late in the evening. They They could have easily contacted us via phones to arrange the delivery. By the end of the evening, the cheese plate did not look fresh nor appetizing.

Before leaving for the day one day, we requested housekeeping service through a gentleman at the front desk (which he confirmed). To our dismay, we came back at the end of the evening and our room was not made up. We ended up having to sit around for 25 minutes before being able to return to our room.

Overall, the staff was friendly and housekeeping did a great job with the rooms.

Pool: One of the big deciding factors for us choosing a hotel was a nice pool experience. The pool at the Mondrian was nice, and had a great view of the bay. However, depending the day of the week, it can get really chaotic.

On the Sunday we were there, it was completely packed. It appears that there were a ton of people there that weren't hotel patrons. Also, we were annoyed by the arbitrary policy about the usage of the beds and cabanas. We were told that each requires a F&B minimum. After staying there for 4 days it was evident that many people allowed usage of the cabana/beds were not paying patrons. Not sure if they just had relationships with pool staff or paid them directly.

I am on the fence whether I would return. I typically stay with SPG hotels like the W and expected the same level of experience from the Morgans Group. It just fell short.

Loved the pool area views. The service was great at the pool ( specifically David who will help you with your chairs) You can jet ski in the bat nearby. Great to be away from the ocean ave scene. Music was a bit loud though.

The suite room was very big but it has a queen sized bed -- disappointed. We tried to have a switch to a king size but they did not really try accommodate just kept telling us it was sold out which didn't seen likely.

Tip- go out early to reserve your pool chair. The juices have filtered water in them not 100% juice so kind of a rip off.
