Nice hotel. Good location but: staff need a long stage in public relations. parking was 30 $ and I think is expensive.

This is a cute hotel but, it's not a cleansy place... What are the maids doing! They do have helpful hostesses. I was disappointed that this hotel had an expensive buffet breakfast; that has an extra for simple things like eggs. I like that the Pestana is near the strip but not on the strip; it's a mini hide-a-way! One building of the hotel is a walk up the other has an elevator; thank GOD my party wasn't there on a major weekend and had a choice not to lug our luggage pass the pool and up the steps. I think with a little work this hotel can be awesome. They may need more staff but, definitely they need to work on being clean that's only acceptable!

Friendly and helpful staff...room was clean and bathroom was huge, with a large, open shower.
The cafe didn't stay open very late for food service, but did sell beer and cocktails to take to the room at a reasonable price.
The only very unusual feature of the room was the light control -- the foyer light could only be turned off with an "All Off" button, which disabled every light and outlet in the room -- so, you either sleep with a bright light on and charge your electronics, or sleep in the dark and charge everything when you get up -- kinda weird.

The rooms are contemporary. The swimming pool is only 5 feet deep but I liked that it's a smaller hotel so the pool wasn't crowded. The breakfast didn't seem worth it. Nice porch at front. Really close to all the action but on a less busy street where you are able to unload right in front. No gym. Free wifi worked ok.
Normally would give it 4 stars but I give 5 because they fixed a problem. Don't get a room near the lobby. People come in after a night of partying and are loud. You will get woke up. I did on the first night, asked for a new room and they accommodated me. Hence, 5 stars.

Friendly staff. Cute hotel. SUPER small rooms though and very weird funky smell that you'll get used to.
It's walking distance to a lot of places so it's convenient. Nice area to walk around.
Their pool area is cozy and calming. They also have a little bar area with food. Tried the chicken sandwich. Not bad.

Worst hotel I have ever EVER stayed at. Our party arrives there to check in, we pull up to the front and the Valet guy tells me he's moving a van and I can pull up and park in that spot, I ask him if I need to do anything, he says NO, the front desk will take care of it. Ok, so I trust what he is saying since he is an employee there. We go inside to check in and we have a party of 5 with 2 rooms, both rooms were under the same last name but different first names (cousins) Well the geniuses at the front desk are apparently not smart enough to realize just because we all have the same name doesn't mean we are staying in the same room nor do we want to hence the reason we booked TWO rooms, (they tried convincing us to change to a large suite rather than 2 separate rooms) and they shouldn't have assumed we all came in one car, because of their assumptions that we all came together they never got the keys to my car for the Valet (we didn't know the car was going to be moved to a new spot so thought nothing of it.) Then to top off our amazing check in experience the Asian agent is about as dumb as they get, at one point she was screaming, literally screaming, at everyone telling us to lower our voices as if we were children then she got mad when nobody took her serious. How do you take that serious. This is South Beach, there is no such thing as quite! This hotel is just such a dump, the employees are garbage, the management is garbage, not one person that works here has an ounce of professionalism in them. So now we check in FINALLY (45 min process) we go to our room, which is small and not very clean, I have to call to get more towels because there were only 2, then I had to call a second time about the blow dryer because that didn't work. When you call for assistance they act as if we are inconveniencing them. Don't work in the hospitality business if you aren't about pleasing your guests. We finally get changed and leave. come back around 2:30am to find our car gone. When we ask the front desk they say "oh you probably got towed" at this point I'm furious, why the eff would I be towed when the EMPLOYEE told us to park in that spot. so we asked them to rectify the situation, they REFUSED told us its not their problem and there is nothing they can do. so after an hour of arguing and fighting with the front desk "manager" and "Gregory" via phone, we asked to see the paperwork for check in, well guess what he admittedly tells us we signed for nothing, not the charges to the room not the valet, nothing. The agent again assumed we were all together and didn't do her due diligence to make sure all of our paperwork for our room was squared away, rather she just put X's across all of the documents instead of calling to our room to let us know the paperwork hadn't been completed all the way. So now our car is gone, we had to fork out $280 in tow charges, got a ticket from the City of Miami, and taxi charges to get to the impound and not one person at the hotel was concerned about the havoc their employee cause on our nigh due to her negligence. THEN to make it even better, the other party we were with had drinks at the pool and the brain-dead bartender charges my room instead of theirs. WORST WORST WORST hotel I have ever experienced. I will definitely be reaching out to somebody in the legal system to assist me in getting the situation rectified since the managers and owners don't want to. I want all the money I wasted because of these people back. Thank you Pestana employees and managers for ruining my entire night.

I used to love the relaxing and quiet atmosphere by the pool until my last stay. The staff authorizes guests with their drinks and pizza in the pool? Really napkins in pool? Not eating by the pool which is fine but IN POOL! Then an entire family fully dressed shorts and shirts in pool. Are they even hotel guests? Manager and barman were notified but couldn't care less, clueless . Guests have some manners, manager say something.
Pool is a mess, need to beg for seat cushions so that the staff bring them out...
it s too tiring maybe? bar service is so slow and clueless about basic customer service.
Pool deck hasn t been cleaned in days and water is recirculating in pool.

Been here maybe 2 hours and the front desk service is TERRIBLE. 1. They asked us for a "voucher" and said we needed to print out our confirmation even though they have us in their system 2. There was a comedy of errors with them getting our luggage to our room. 3. Random but they charged us gratuity for 2 drinks. I guess that's customary?

My girlfriends and I enjoyed our trip immensely - so much so that we came back just to hang with the staff at the bar after our trip back from the Bahamas.
Hotel/Rooms: Opened recently - less than a year while we were visiting. The rooms were clean and our room overlooked the pool - awesome!
Location: It was not in the heart of South Beach but I think I much preferred to be off the strip. It was quiet enough for me to sleep. It was a few blocks away from Lincoln Road - where I found my beloved Shake Shack!!! Lincoln Road is also filled with amazing shopping. The beach was also only a few blocks away! Staff: I don't even know where to start! My girlfriends and I are all in agreement that the staff here made our trip. The staff was super helpful and fun, it was exactly what we were looking for (not that we expected it).
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Pestana - they were so great I remembered most of their names!!!! Each and every single one of them were/are wonderful!!

We loved the pool area at Pestana South Beach. It was perfect for a lazy day lounging in the pool chairs. The pool was so warm it felt like a jacuzzi. The bar is nice and we had coronas while swimming around. Location was also excellent - on a nice quiet street only two short blocks away from the beach. That part was ideal.
The cons of Pestana were that some of the female front desk staff were extremely unfriendly and standoffish. Also the walls were paper thin so we could hear everyone's loud conversations as they walked by our room. One morning we were also woken up by a screeching fire alarm, which was eventually turned off. It was not an emergency but no one came around to tell us that it was fine to stay in our rooms. The whole thing was very odd.
