Felt like walking into a scene from Miami Vice here... I can tell it was built no later than the 80s too because the walls were made of concrete.  I only know this because one of our travel companions who couldn't maintain a cool head whilst intoxicated tried to fight the wall... and broke his hand.  I would also like to compliment the patience of the staff for not throwing us out after our travel companions got into a vicious scuffle in the room.  It was totally awkward so we decided to get our own room for the evening.  Just as we were leaving, the front desk was coming up to kick us out... So you can only imagine how mortified we were as we tried to explain we had nothing to do with the incident as we were being escorted to the front desk by security.  They graciously agreed to let us stay in the hotel, not believing a word we had said, but on the complete opposite side of the hotel from the old room.  Awww.... memories.

We got there around noon all to be told we weren't able to check in until three. We stored our stuff in a friend's room who had been staying there already and decided to head to the beach. But then they wouldn't even give us towels since we weren't checked in. I thought that was a little unreasonable seeing as we would have a room in a few short hours!

Overall, this place is pretty outdated but houses a pizza place, art store, salon, and gift shop in the lowest level. How these places stay in business is beyond me, but the pizza we got was definitely good!

The beach is conveniently right outside but had a lot of dried up seaweed and got really crowded. They do have a nice pool though with a pool bar that was always full of people. The rooms were nice and had very big windows. The beds were pretty comfy too!

So it wasn't an awful experience but not where you want to go if you're looking for a proper Miami getaway.
