stayed here for spring break 11 with a friend. rooms are very..super..clean. lots of white..modern and new. energy saving features were great. hallways and elevator a bit creepy..they have wierd lighting..red???pool is still being finished but pool is great..rooftop cool. you can see straight out to beach. don't be fooled by ocean views..even though you are right on ocean there are still building that block view. from some rooms you can get a glimpse of the water. dont pay for the view if you have a choice though. this is in an older..just fixed up area of ocean that is really sweet. near everything but not too close. was very quiet but walls are thin. rate was very reasonable and allowed us to enjoy our stay. not good for families ..good for singles or older crowd that is cool. towels and chairs are available to take to the beach at no charge. towels at pool also. towels in rooms were not plush at all.

Perfect location if you want the South Beach attractions without the SoBe noise.
This boutique hotel is juuuuuusst on the edge of SoBe, in what is called "South of Fifth" or SoFi. Very quaint, clean hotel. Alex gets five stars for his personality, and helpfulness in getting us around town. The rooms are average sized fabulous contemporary styled. One major complaint I have was that for all of the upscale contemporary styling of the all glass shower, the shower literally poured water out over the entire bathroom floor. We had to be so very careful while showering to make sure we didn't hit the glass. Which, if you think about it, is impossible. And, with the floor being polished tile (you guessed it) it's a major slip and fall hazard. I did mention this issue to Alex. But, without them remodeling, it's not going to change.
The hotel internet did not work for two of the days we were there. But, the daily charge was deducted from the bill when we departed.
The rooms are also energy efficient designed. When you enter the room, you have to insert your room card into a slot in the wall, and then the a/c will turn on. We figured out pretty quickly, that you need to request two room key cards. One to use as your room key, and the other to keep in the wall so the a/c won't turn off when you leave the room. It gets pretty humid and stuffy in Florida ya know.
But, the location is great. The room was quiet at night, when we wanted to sleep. We had the room with a forest mural on the ceiling. So, when you walk into the room, the soffit lighting gently illuminates across the ceiling only. Pretty cool and nicely thought out. Since you are only one block from the Ocean Avenue excitement, it's easy walking to everything. An Ocean view was not really happening from any room as I see it. And, the rooftop pool and lounging area are interesting, but not really inviting as a place to hang out or gather. You want to get out and see and do things when in South Beach.

Oh, and on the parking. . . It pays to seek out a street space. It's $1.25 per hour from 9am-midnight. So, the absolute MOST you will pay is $18.75. We found parking one block away every time we needed a space, and we figured out that in the end we paid about $9 per day overall. And, they are Pay2Park meters (not coin meters) so you can use your credit/debit card to pay.

4th of July Weekend - Great hotel! I must say South Beach isn't my idea of a relaxing beach destination however Sense hotel is perfect! I luv'd the modern rooms, friendly staff, and close proximity to the beach.

clean, no-frills, newly constructed hotel (early 2009). we paid $180/nt for a king city view room and was upgraded to an "ocean" view room upon arrival. isn't really ocean view as the ocean is 1 block away and can only be seen through a long street. the location of the hotel was ideal for me, it's away from the noisy hotels. Only 1 block from the end of the "ocean drive" strip of restaurants and bars.

a deli is located at the other end of the block, and a delicious italian restaurant., "Barolo" is located on the same block as well.

check in was quick and smooth, the concierge was extremely talkative but helpful. would stay at this hotel again.

This place was amazing! I am not sure if i can fully explain my experience but I cant rave about it enough. The staff was perfect! We arrived late and we were greeted by Alex at the front desk. He made sure everything was to our satisfaction. Didn't want us to lift a figure basically. Even brought ice to the room, usually i see a machine. He always had recommendations on where to go or to eat.
It is still a new hotel, opened in May. So its still very pretty. All white in the front area. The rooms were a good size. The beds were unbelievable i wish i could have stolen the bed to be honest. The hallway on our floor was red which was fun but coming in from the sun was tricky on the eyes. No one was at the pool really but they were working on it when we were there. Not a problem though we spent most the time at the beach.
Parking was $25 for valet. I got lucky and found a spot right next to the hotel but they will direct you places to park. I did get 2 tickets down there, oopps! But they were cheaper than valet LOL.
Overall, i plan on staying here again. i got a great deal on Bookit.com . I dont know if it will ever be that price again but its well worth the money!

This hotel IS very moden, new, and clean BUT VERY Stark, plain, quiet, and understimulating. The hotel lobby is much larger than it needs to be, it would be much better if they filled the space with a bar - or anything to stimulate the senses.

I will admit, Alex gave amazing customer service, but when that guy had the day off there was a woman standing at the front desk in his place ((Alex called her the manager)) who was a complete idiot, she was rude, and she was on personal phone calls every time I walked up to the front desk.

Overall, the decor in this place is pretty cool, but I notice the entire hotel is light and bright --and when you get in the elevators it's dark and well, dark. The eleators did not match the decor of the rest of the property - kinda weird. Especially weird getting into the dark elevators after being at the pool in the sun.

We payed extra for a room with an "ocean view" ...we could see the ocean alright with a birds eye view. If you are going to stay here, do NOT pay extra for any view.

I did enjoy the location of this hotel - it was very quiet at night and only one block away from Yoga on The Beach. The hotel will provide Beach Towels and Beach Chairs at no cost --which was a huge plus. ((but the B**ch at the front desk wasn't going to tell me that -- I had to find out from Alex the second day I was there))

The pool is fantastic, but I was the only person there. BORING.

I might consider staying at this hotel again, the price was decent, BUT I would certainly look elsewhere first.

Sense is a very stylish hotel.  The room was a decent size and the beds were comfortable.  I wish the weather had been better so we could have gone to the rooftop pool.  I enjoyed the sleek look the hotel had, and the location was perfect.

Clean! Front desk amazingly friendly and helpful. We asked what time the pool closed and man at front desk said it was closed but he would open it just for us "if we promised not to drown." appreciated his flexibility and sense of humor. Decor cool and calming after a long hot day. Love, love, love how small and personal it felt. Like we were their only customers!

I read reviews about the hotel and saw pictures and booked our room based on them. I'm so very happy that I did. They were so amazing. We arrived early expecting to just drop our bags but they checked us in and let us go to our room. The hotel smelled amazing and was instantly soothing and relaxing. The decor was absolutely adorable. The staff was so friendly and very very helpful. The provided beach bags, towels and chairs. Any request we had they always fulfilled with smiles on their faces. Our room was spacious with the most comfortable beds. I had the best sleep and wanted to bring the bed home with me. The bathroom was also beautiful and the shower was amazing. Everything was super clean. The balcony and view was great.  The pool area was immaculate and very relaxing. It's beautifully designed. You can see the ocean from your lounge chair. I ordered food from the restaurant, which was delicious and I enjoyed it pool side. I can't express enough how nice and helpful every single person was. Especially Sydney, the late night Concierge. He was very helpful and always had a smile from ear to ear. They helped us from getting extra towels, Ice, glasses, etc to telling us where to go each day and night for dinner, drinks or for dancing. It was close enough to the strip but far enough to keep it peaceful at night. I will always stay at sense house for as long as I go to Miami.

This is a beautiful modern hotel. The room is absolutely beautiful, the bathroom beautiful, and the beds are very comfortable with memory foam and memory foam pillows (plus regular pillows if memory foam pillow is not your thing). The shower is very awesome too, one of those rain shower heads where the water comes on you from above.

The only downside is it is perhaps TOO energy efficient..the air conditioning kept turning off at night and would only reactivate if you waved your hand in front of the motion detector to turn it on again.

It is in a PERFECT location, beach is visible from most windows and its literally across the street. The beach in that area (4th street) is not nearly as crowded as other sections of south beach. Kind of private.

It's very quiet at night and the pool area is beautiful. It's not a swimming pool in that it is not very deep..it's designed just for lounging and sitting in the underwater bench. The rooftop has a lot of tables and chairs, perfect for a lunch or breakfast you might take up there. The hotel has no bar or restaurant, it's very basic.

The service was excellent as well, Alex at the front desk answered all our questions and recommended tons of good places to eat.

This to me, is the best possible place to stay in South Beach. Another small downside is it is in the extreme southern portion of South Beach, so if you want to go to Lincoln Avenue it can be quite a walk in intense Florida heat, but cabs are plentiful and cheap.

Park at the garage on 7th and Collins, it's cheap and large.

I haven't even stayed at the Sense South Beach Hotel yet. But I did book my reservations through the ever so famous Alex. He has rave reviews on tripadvisor, and I was lucky enough to speak to him when I booked my reservations. He gave me 25 percent off, that was not advertised on any website! Thanks!

I'm sure the hotel well be great. All of the reviews have been amazing. I will review this hotel in a few months ( once I've actually stayed in it ). Stay tuned.

Stayed here 2 nights with 3 friends. The room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom was also big with a large shower. Moderately priced for South Beach. Although they're undergoing some renovations of the lobby, the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. (it already seems pretty modern but seemed like they were putting in a bar) They provided complimentary towels and chairs to bring to the beach, which was great. This is definitely an up-and-coming hotel along Ocean Dr.

Best part - my friends and I went on a cruise over the weekend but had a full day back in Miami before our flight where we were sort of homeless. The Sense allowed us to store our luggage free of charge, and gave us beach towels - even though we had checked out 3 days prior. Amazing! Would definitely stay here again.

I can't say enough good things about this hotel.  Comfortable, clean, beautiful rooms. A short walk to the beach and all that south beach has to offer.  Reasonably priced. But what truly knocks it out of the the park for me is the SUPERB, attentive, and friendly staff!  They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay.  EXCELLENT service!

I stayed here last weekend for a bachelorette party and I loved it!!!

It's a very cute boutique hotel. Rooms are pretty spacious and the decor is very cute. The beds with their memory foam mattresses and pillows were very comfy!

But the best part was the staff. The guys that work the front desk are awesome! They are amazingly helpful and sweet. One of the guys, Alex, was the epitome of the hotel concierge. He gave us plenty of recommendations for activities and restaurants and even got us into a club. He hailed cabs for us-anything we needed, he did. Thanks, Alex!!! :)

Next time I'm in South Beach, I will definitely be staying here!

Our crew of 12 friends recently took over Sense Beach House for a 3-night stay to celebrate a friend's 30th birthday.  This place is perfect for a romantic weekend or a weekend of partying with your friends.  It is definitely more on the relaxing end of the spectrum.

The absolute best part about this hotel was the customer service.  In a time when good customer service is very hard to find, this hotel knocks it out of the park!  Each morning we ordered breakfast from the downstairs hotel restaurant (the Local House) and they delivered it up to the pool for us to enjoy poolside with a distant ocean view.  The restaurant staff was UNBELIEVABLY friendly and was there to serve us with everything from poolside mimosa refills to simply filling our solo cups with ice downstairs at the hotel restaurant/bar.  This hotel and restaurant/bar staff are an excellent team who enjoy their jobs and deliver perfect service.

The location is perfect.  Walking distance to the main parts of Ocean Dr. and South Beach.

The rooms are very comfortable, as already noted in other posts, with a comfortable rain-water shower-head.  The pool is small but just perfect considering it's a smaller boutique hotel.  We were usually the only people by the pool, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Being a smaller boutique hotel, you are getting personal service and attention.

I cannot say enough positive about this place.  Excellent rates considering the ideal location on South Beach, and customer service that beats any other more expensive property.  You will NOT be disappointed.

Awesome hotel!! There's a reason it gets such good reviews. Most comfortable bed I've slept in at a hotel. Perfect location just off the main strip of Ocean drive but close to all the action. Great food and drinks at the bar. Clean. Can't say enough good things about this place.

The ONLY reason why this hotel receives two stars is because the manager refunded me half the weeks bill after trying to contact her daily for a week and harassing the blogger that recommended me to stay here. The hotel is actually gorgeous to look at- very beachy/chic and rooms are nicely set up. However, I happened to being staying there the week that the manager was in costa rica and there wasn't a manager, supervisor, or anyone to take care of the laundry list of problems we had during my stay.
    1) pool was not functional the entire week we were there due to a myriad of problems.
    2) ice bucket in room with NO ice machine (wtf?)
    3) shower stopped working WHILE I WAS IN IT. was told it would turn back on in an hour.
    4) Toilet stopped working. No working toilet for 24 hours. had to complain MULTIPLE times to use toilet in unoccupied room. (what kind of motel/inn doesn't have an on-call maintenance person?!)
    5) pool overflowed down 4 flights and shorted out fire alarm. we were evacuated at 430am the night of my birthday, and the fire dept had to come and shut it off. (not to mention trying to get down 4 flights of stairs in knee deep flowing water)
    6) every time I went to the bar to get ice, the staff had no idea what i was talking about or why i needed it. One even replied "sorry i dont speak english". This is Miami, a major metropolitan area in the US right?
    7) our partial beach view included two huge apartment skyrises, completely blocking the ocean.

Pros: gorgeous drinks, laid back atmosphere, the wait staff that did speak english were superb (shout out to Marianna, Phillip and Ennedi). Also, I loved the fact that towels, beach chairs, and beach bags were provided! This place could be the sweetest gem in sobe, but it fell short for me. Sorry guys!

Thank you tripadvisor for finding me a great hotel right on ocean drive! An extra tidbit, they won Tripadvisor's 2010 choice award. we were literally a few blocks down from the heart of southbeach, and within walking distance of all the major streets (collins, washington, lincoln) & the beach was right across the street! It was close enough to all the action, but far enough away so we were able to get a good nights sleep.

Rooms were very modern, simple, and chic. It was also very clean, and the temperpudic beds/pillows were great. Hotel staff was available 24 hrs a day. They also provide towels and chairs for the beach, which is included in the $7.50/day amenities fee. The rooftop pool was ok. Good enough for us to sunbath & to check out the rooftop model shoot across the way.

The only gripe we had was that there were literally no mirrors in the room besides the one in the bathroom. You would think since we were in miami of all places, that there would at least be ONE mirror in the room! 4 gals trying to get ready without mirrors = no bueno. So my suggestion would be to PLEASE ADD MIRRORS TO ALL YOUR ROOMS! At least one full length mirror.

Yes, pretty sure this is my new favorite hotel on SoBe.

So relaxing, clean, modern and classy. It doesn't really feel like you are in the sassy part of MIA either, it really feels like you are away from the hustle and relaxing in a beach side condo.

The entrance is filled with relaxing beach furniture including hammocks and fun games like ping pong. No, it's not cheesy, it's done very classy.

The front desk is just a desk upon opening the door and the three people I interacted with during my time were delightful and extremely helpful.

There was lovely, subtle beach decor all throughout the lobby. On the second floor where I was staying, room 6, the hallway was lined with barbie photos. Didn't really get how that went with the them but I liked it. My room was the perfect size and even though I was alone, I had two double beds but it was still great. I had the pleasure of staying in a "blue room" and the other option is "sand room." I dug the blue, it was calming and relaxing.

The bathroom was so spacious and that is huge for me in a hotel. It was a stand up shower only but it was huge and all clear so it made the bathroom seem even larger. There was an option of a removable sprinkler or overhead rain. There was tons of counter space which is perfect for us women! Molton Brown of London Toiletries are featured.

The beds were so fluffy and comfy. The balcony was small but the perfect size for a chair on a glorious evening to kick back, watch the moon and look at the beach just a block away. It was so awesome because the sliding door was from floor to ceiling and I opened it for a perfect breeze for the evening. Memory foam mattresses, for the win!

A very cool piece about this place is you have to put your key in a slot to work the electricity in the room, def helps with conservation and helps you remember to grab your key before you leave!

Only thing I didn't love: The shower door opened inward so you had to like tuck into the corner to get in and out. Just a tiny malfunction in an otherwise perfect hotel.

2 blocks from STORY nightclub, perfect for the overnighter just to get your dance on!

They offer valet parking, just call the front desk as you are arriving and they will have someone meet you out front. Free Wi-Fi!

I wish I had more time to check the entire place out but I will def be back many times in my adventure to Miami! Def check this spot out.

I have to say, my stay here was better than expected. The décor was perfect, very clean and modern and extremely relaxing. The staff was welcoming, accommodating and very professional. The food at the Local House was delicious and the bottomless mimosas on the rooftop pool were the cherries on top.

I have to give great thanks to the staff by name. Chris and Anthony at the front desk were 2 of the nicest guys that set the stage for our great stay. Our servers at the Local House, Natalia, Elizabeth, Danielle and Daniel were AWESOME. And last but not least, Sergey, the bartender (with the nice bum) served those delicious bottomless mimosas. I would absolutely stay here again.

Oh and I cannot forgot to say how wonderful the general manager is. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but when we had an issue, she came to the rescue and made sure the rest of our stay was perfect.

I wish I could live here. This place is so cute, cozy, clean, modern & most importantly personable customer service. The only thing it's missing is a work out room but there's a pool on the roof top I guess you can get a few laps in. I found this place via trivago.com & booked it based on the reviews. The bed really is heaven. I fell asleep w/the balcony door open listening to the ocean breeze. The sheets were pristine white & the pillows were like clouds. The room is not large but spacious w/modern minimal furniture. The bathroom space is wonderful. Wide shower w/both a shower head from the ceiling and a modern shower handle you can maneuver. Bar of soap & lotion is not provided only Molton Brown shampoo, conditioner & body wash. I was in room 10 of the 3rd floor city view facing apartments. Every room has a balcony w/2 chairs. There's so much seating inside the lounge, the lobby, restaurant area inside and outside & partially covered area in the back. The check in desk is literally just a desk. It's cute & simple just like the check in & out process. Pool area on roof top was spotless w/ample seating options, a cute bathroom & shower available up there too. I really enjoyed my stay here and will certainly be back. The Local House downstairs must use local organic ingredients cause the food taste so fresh and full of flavor. My server made the best soy cappuccino I ever had so I ordered 2. This hotel is conveniently located near Walgreens & had plenty of street parking options for me when I was there early February. You'll love it here too.
