Magnificent addition to the neighborhood. Lot of superlatives for this place but not going to waste your time. Romantic exterior pool deck.

By far the Best Hotel on the Beach.  The staff was very attentive and right on point.  The views are awesome and the rooms were perfect.  Ian Schrager and the Ritz have a real winner here.  Don't forget the bowling alley and ice rink...Food by Jean-Georges.  The Matador Room and Lounge were great.  Looking for the upscale experience...no other option.

There are so many wonderful things about this hotel, I honestly don't know where to start. We stayed here for four days and from the time we walked through the front door, up to the departure, the hotel and staff went above and beyond our expectations. We spent each day either at the pool or at their private beach. The food and drink service were both flawless. Our poolside and beach side server, Letty, was very attentive, although not intrusive at all. She was beyond sweet and remembered all of our special requests. We even ordered an appetizer not on the Tropicale menu while at the pool, and even though we didn't realize that Tropicale's kitchen had already closed at the time, they arranged for the appetizer to be made at one of their other kitchens and brought it out to us. We also had lunch at the Matador twice. Its outdoor shaded seating overlooked the pool and was absolutely beautiful. Be sure to try their breakfast, especially the coconut pancakes (Thanks to Brenton and the kitchen as we got to enjoy these even though breakfast service was already over!). Also the pizzas and tacos here are delicious! We even enjoyed lunch at the Market twice. They have four food stations that are just perfect, with choices on the menu for all tastes. Their bakery/dessert station is mouthwatering so be sure to order something from here as you will regret it if you don't when you walk by on the way out. The food at all places came out in a very timely manner and service was at the right speed during all visits. Turn down service was nice with the housekeeping staff being so kind to us. The rooms are beautifully decorated. They are so beautiful you almost have to force yourself out the door as they are so spa-like. We were so happy with this hotel, we stopped and chatted with Richard, the front office manager, to express our gratitude and satisfaction. He was so personable and spent a good amount of time talking to us. There really is nothing they haven't thought of at this hotel. All the details and processes down to the hiring of every employee was well thought out and executed flawlessly. I definitely look forward to our next stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury urban oasis.

SO, here we are on day 6 of our vacation....things are better.  During our stay Art Basel was going on so the plastic people had taken control of the world.  Granted the Market for breakfast has some hick ups but now that the masses have left it's really quite a lovely place.  The guys and girls by the pool have been awesome, so attentive and precise they've been great.  The pool manager Paulo has been wonderful and so has Martin.  Melissa from the front desk gets an A+.....so nice and friendly and upgraded my family for our last two days.  All in all, DON'T COME WHEN THERE'S A HUGE EVENT GOING ON IN MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The Miami Beach Edition will be a yearly vacation for my family......

This place is a joke. You go to the bowling everything is empty - they say it's reserved. You go to the restaurant ask for a tee - they say the restaurant just closed (several people still sitting and eating there) i was asking for a tea that's it. Hotel rooms are not even close as nice as the W or Setai. Area is off South Beach so you have to take a cab everywhere. Would not recommend this place to anybody and will definitely not return.

Well executed design of common areas, F&B outlets (the Market recalls The Plaza NY food court), dance club, bowling alley and a mini ice skating rink to boot.  Previous reviews regarding price points are accurate - the food and drinks are Miami Beach appropriate or slightly below other comparable hotels.  Did not see the rooms but knowing Shrager's past projects, I imagine he did right by balancing the new and old Miami.

Can't compliment this place enough. It's a resort with a difference, so nicely finished. LOVED the bowling alley downstairs and the Matador terrace outside. The staff were great especially Jose their (security supervisor) couldn't have been any more helpful. This place takes Miami Beach to another level such a chilled ambience yet in a class of it's own. Will definitely be back soon

Just walked out. Waited 10 minutes to get a drink in the uninspiring pretentious bar with over-rated expensive drinks. Bar menu is non-existent. I travel all over the world and this place stinks!

Had to extend my stay in Miami and booked 2 nights here. Had breakfast twice and both times the manager was no where to be found. The waitress that attended me both times had no idea how to take an order. Coffee was a 15 min. wait and what I order both times came out wrong. Something so simple as an orange juice took a half hour because they had to fetch it from the back!

The real issue however is that I sent my clothes to be laundered and what was supposed to be same day delivery ended up being a slew of excuses stating various incorrect responses on the hotels part. In end my 1 undergarment along with my fathers that was sent out never appeared.

Management needs to be on top of the staff here!!!! I can go on with other issues but I a do hate to bad mouth. I will be going home w a sour taste and when asked by my clients and business affiliates I will NOT recommend.

I visited March 10-14. the edition is an amazing property and our stay was incredible. the staff is wonderful and completely focused on the visitor experience being exceptional. we ate at all of the restaurants and they were all great, both food and service. our room was a beautiful oceanfront king. the pool was fantastic as was the beach. special thanks to Bernie in the Market, Lazaro and Paco in security/facilities, and super special concierge Jinger. I cannot wait to return to the edition. nothing wrong with Miami!

Review is for the public areas and restaurants.

The place is simply breathtaking.  Not a big tacky resort with music blasting like the Fountainbleu and not as chic as the Delano, but has a very relaxed and sleek vibe here.

Good crowd, nice restaurants, amazing amenities, pools are beautiful and it's right on the beach with outstanding views.

Definitely see myself being a regular here.

Came for art Basel, so we got slammed in the room cost: $1,100 a night for a standard room that is W Hotel caliber (modern design)--so worth $300-450 guessing.

Putting that out there, because there is no way to give a fair review based on surge pricing. I will rate this as if it was a $450 room, which at that rate this is a solid experience.

We ate at the Matador, which was excellent (pizza, tacos, lobster, etc), as well at MARKET, a slick marketplace food court. Which although it has typically, Miami-level service, has exceptional food (from a raw bar to a charcuterie).

Four people the bar and literally every simple thing (salt and pepper AND sugar was a struggle). I literally got up and took my salt and pepper from another table when they  conferred on who was getting me salt and pepper. Same thing with sugar. As a waiter for many years, you know that when someone needs salt, pepper or sugar, that they need it now because their coffee or food is getting cold. Just bizarre level of stupidity, as they say there waiting for a bus boy.

The hotel has two nice pools, and easy access to the beach. There is a club downstairs that has bowling and an ice skating rink. We bowled at 1am to dance music, was fun. The skating rink was closed.

Overall it was an excellent stay, and if you keep your service expectations to a minimum, you will have a fancy time.

I must say the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever!!!!  The basement  had the worst service ever and when I asked the manger Juan to address the basement employees he said he cannot do anything about it. It's so sad that you cannot cater to your guest

It's a new trendy hotel in South Beach so how can you go wrong? Very clean rooms with great pool bar, hotel bar and restaurants.

I would return but still favor the W South a Beach.

It's a new hotel but all the staff knew all the answers to any question any of us had. Very nice and pleasant staff.  The hotel is located off the main strip but an easy walk to it.  The pool was nice. We walked on the boardwalk and when we tried to get back in the key lock was broken. The security lady had to let us in. She looked at us as if we were breaking into the hotel. She knew the key lock wasn't working but still tried and asked random questions. Guess none of us fit who normally stays here or she was over doing her job- either way we got back in. Walking the boardwalk behind is a must.

I didn't find any of the food or drink prices over priced, like other reviews expressed. You're paying for the area you're in.

Everything is white. Not sure about how well this will maintain in the future years.  We were all upgraded to a city view. I only hope the view will improve once the construction clears- other wise don't waste your money on the upgrade to city view.

If you stay here, you must walk over to Brother's Cafe. Pretty good, inexpensive food. They have an outside seating area which is nice to sit, eat, and watch the world go by.   It's out the hotel to the left and only a block away.

Only one issue while there. The valet parked my car outside of the hotel overnight verses bringing it to the lot. I know most hotels do this so not a huge deal.  But the first night there it was raining and windy. I came out to find my black car extremely dirty with hard rain stains and sand all over it. The other nights they brought it to their parking yard.

This hotel is a gem! The space in the lobby is open and gives the air of sex appeal. There's so many different food and drink options to fit your budget. They have a couple of restaurants and bars on premise. If you want the real nightlife affect then head downstairs to the basement where they have a bowling alley and a very small ice skating ring. The best part of this hotel is the pool area.  So many green trees with low lights hanging from branches makes you feel like your in a upscale tree house. Drinks are your regular hotel priced no discounts here. You gotta pay to play on this playground. I would definitely take my out of town guest here to start the night off.

The Miami Beach Editiion opened on Monday so we in the middle of their "soft" opening.  For that reason I am going overlook some of the minor things that are missing from the stay as I am sure when they are up and running, they will have the kinks worked out.

From a design standpoint they did an awesome job.  It is a simple luxury with lots of soft wood and white space.  It works great at the beach.  It is like a Public hotel at the beach if you have been to that property in Chicago.  The pool area is awesome with two different pool decks and a very private feel.  The beach is private compared to many other hotels in the area and the staff out there was fantastic.  There are a few things I would change, but overall I think the Edition was a design success.

We ate on the beach today and other than missing items on the menu (typical of a soft opening) the staff and food was great.  The price is high, but you are getting served on a beach so get over it.

I am currently lying on the bed in the softest bath robe I've ever put on and ready to enjoy the next couple days here at the hotel.  It is that much better that NYC is currently 30 degrees.

    Welcome to South Beach Schrager.

Much welcomed addition to Miami scene!

Rooms are beautiful, so is the pool setting. Great restaurants, lounges and bar. And  what about that  bowling alley - fantastic!
Well... the nightclub "Basement" is too average to make it on the long run, yet I predict it will be ok till May 2015.
From valet to managers, bartenders and servers.  Special shout out to gorgeous "go-to" staff member Hansel Tee - you will know who he is when pull up to the valet or see him in the lobby;)

Yet back to how great things are at Edition now! For those who lived in Miami for a while - the drill is way too familiar:
first it is a perfection as an establishment brings their own staff to get things going and "train the local employees"; then they leave and "Poof!" - another one bites the dust.  Oh so quickly 'The Land of Mañana" takes over and quality of food, and service plummets...

I truly hope this will not be the case with Edition as it is too good and many hoteliers and restauranteurs here in Miami should adhere to this standard instead of trying to bring it down.

Good luck Edition, We love you!

The very posh Edition has only been open two weeks and already has a heavy crowd. Everywhere you turn there's gorgeousness around you. The decor and interior design will have you wanting to move in permanently.

The hotel features the restaurant, El Matador where anywhere you sit is a great option. Whether it be the bar, indoor circular setting or outside by the terrace with a pool view. Whichever you decide you'll fall in love.

The penthouse room features a two floor scenario with ocean view. This option scores you your very own private pool to swim in with your friends or solo if that's your thing! However, it'll cost you a pretty penny and by pretty I mean a good $10,000 a night.

Let's get to the new spot to be. Basement. I personally already spotted Joe Jonas in here last night checking this place out. And what's not to check out... This lounge is equipped with a bowling alley and an ice skating rink, which they're still trying to figure out the insurance and liability waivers for.

This place rocks and I will definitely be back for happy hour!

Stayed 1 night, the staff was attentive, I had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for room service, when I complained they took it off the bill in true Ritz Carlton fashion. The lobby, pool area, bowling ally, skating rink are all amazing. This place is a true scene at night, getting a drink at the bar will take at least 10 minutes so be prepared, but there is plenty of scenery to keep you busy durning the wait.

Went to the Market at the Edition for breakfast since I live nearby. It's super cute and warm. There are "pods" that each serve something different. One is pastries, one is sushi, and one looks like cheeses and meats. For breakfast all that is open is the pastries which has croissants, fudge brownies, muffins, yummmm.

I had the spinach and goat cheese egg white omelette with delicious whole grain bread and surprisingly good American coffee. Service was good, I guess they worked out the kinks that other people noted. All in all a great place for locals too.

AMAZING, BRAVO!!  We went to the newly opened club which comes complete with a pat on your behind as your "cover charge", no line drama, a bowling alley and an ice skating rink!! Such a fun concept. The bowling is first come, first serve and a $50 pp minimum for food and beverage.  The drinks were so cheap (esp for Miami) that we had a hard time spending $50 pp...how weird is that?!  Pleasantly surprised by the super fun environment and beyond affordable fun! Would love to stay here on my next visit!

The place is awesome, beautiful bungalows, ice skating ring, bowling alley, beautiful pool bar...the only reason why I don't give this brand new hotel a perfect 5 star rating is because of the pool server...she sucked..I know it's pretty standard to have horrible service in Miami but sometimes the quality of service gets so low I can't help but complain in here :/

First off shout out to Cassie for my tickets to La Nuit in Rose!!!!
This hotel is EVERYTHING!!!!! The decor, the people, the staff, the view...I mean its just perfect!

So took the bestie Kelli with me to this wonderful event. This place has a very sophisticated feel. The style of furnishings, wall decor and light fixtures is glam. Even the bathrooms outdid themselves.

While walking in there were people dressed in lavish costumes following a band down the stairs. We definitely said we'd catch up with them later.
So we walked into the La Nuit Rose event. Line was quick to get in and wine glasses quickly within reach. Your given the cutest pink pen and a booklet informing you on all the debauchery we were about to get into...um I mean information and background on all the different Rose we were going to taste.
We were on a journey of different wines, champagne, and surprisingly a soda.  I don't remember how much we tried but I will say the french soda was better then any soda I've ever tasted. The champagne (we were told there was only one kind) was good and light. We tried other Rose along the way but my top three would definitely have to be between the South African, the Moroccan, and I dont remember where this particular one was from or the name but it was infused with citrus lemon and grapefruit.
The d'oeuvres we had were Delish!!!! They had olives, cheeses, breads, desserts, oysters, shrimp cocktail, and so much more. It was all great!!!!
After the event we decide to head downstairs. .. w hat we saw nn Lee our minds...dude there's an ice skating rink,  a bowling alley, and a club!!!!!! It's everything u want to do in one night at one beautiful location!!!!
Oh we also met this fabulous man who informed us to rent a cabana here is everything...so we will be back...oh yes we will be back!!!
This place is an adult heaven oasis!!!!

The atmosphere of this hotel was spectacular.  Love the vibe of the pool, reggae style music was so cool.  Felt like I was on a tropical island. The Matador bar had one of the best bartenders in Miami Beach. His name was Vinny from New York. He's been with Marriott for over 17 years and just moved from NY to Miami. Lots of good stories and great drinks, and good tacos!

I give it 4 stars because of the service on the private beach area. We rented a cabana for the day ($100, not bad for Miami) but received little to no service. We had to go up to the pool bar to order drinks.

All in all I'd definitely come back and stay here. Love the vibe of this hotel. I do recommend an ocean view if you can as we had city view and it was overlooking construction.

Excellent hotel with a great beach, pool area, and great vibe. The staff are very nice and accommodating to any needs. The soundtrack they play throughout the day and night are perfect for the hotel.

You could stay at the hotel for your entire visit. It has 3 restaurants, several bars, a skating rink, bowling alley, and night club.

The rooms are excellent with soft linens, large tv's, and a beautiful bathroom with interesting sliding barn like doors. The rooms and hallways to the rooms feel more like a condo apartment building than a hotel.

I wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel.

So incredible for breakfast. They have gluten free options and soymilk for anyone with  food sensitivities, and everything comes out exactly as you order it.

Everything about the breakfast is fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful (double check that they understand you if you have allergies, I got cream when I asked a busboy for soy but he just didn't speak English very well, it didn't seem like blatant laziness).  My husband and I have tried almost every single thing on the breakfast menu save the meat options, and everything was prepared to perfection. If you ask for your eggs over medium, that is precisely how they arrive. The pancakes are light, fluffy, and flavorful. The coffee was served in a lovely french press and was fresh every time. The bakery in the restaurant offers many classic breakfast treats (muffins, croissants, pan au chocolate) and some fresh new spins that are delectable!

The ambiance was wonderful. Very relaxing, and a feast for the eyes. They have truly gone above and beyond to make the building and restaurant beautiful. The music was light and soft, lovely and jazzy, at an appropriate decibel to where it could be enjoyed buy you can still speak without raising your voice or giving up privacy. The way the tables are set up make it apparent that they want you to have all the condiments and creature comforts that you need before your food arrives so it's fully enjoyed.

The lobby has books by Frank Lloyd Wright and some great Taschen reads, a gorgeous white carrera marble pool table, and if you walk out onto the pool gardens and cabanas you can be whisked away to vacation paradise in a matter of seconds. If the ocean is active enough, you can hear the waves breaking as you stroll by private little bungalows and beds made for lounging in the sun.

Check out this little slice of heaven; you won't be disappointed!
