My husband and I arrived to check in on Friday evening and the process went smoothly.  Got our room key and went up to the room to find the door ajar and as we slowly pushed it open a man comes up from behind us saying no, no, no.  He shows us his room key which had the room number and we showed him our door key with the same room number.  We take our luggage back downstairs and explain that someone is already in our room.  They check and have to find us another room (allegedly we were supposed to be in the room next door to the first room and I was told that the room number was written down wrong).  What happened next was that they had to move us down a floor to another room.....if we were supposed to be in the room next to the first room why weren't we put in that room?  We'll never the answer to that.  We were offered a free buffet breakfast for the inconvenience but we already had plans so we declined. Our room was an "airport" view king tower suite and the room itself was spacious and laid out well.  The only downside I found was that we couldn't open the curtains much on the side of the room because other rooms could look directly into ours.

The room and hotel was great!  Being charged $47 for room service, in which I didn't order was upsetting.  I think they should ask for identification on all room service order to help prevent fraudulent charges. On a separate note... Jennifer went above and beyond to investigate and credit my card. Thank you.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and pool, and a great environment! Room service food very tasty! My kids liked the jumping fish, swimming turtles and iguana in the lake behind the hotel!

4 STARS FOR THE ROOM/RESTAURANT, 1 STAR FOR THE LOGISTICS.
We booked this for an overnight stay before leaving on a cruise based on it's location to the airport.
Pros-
1. The room was nice. New, and clean with two TVs and a nice seating area.
2. We thought the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.

Cons-
Most of these stem from the hotel only having 1 van for transportation.
1. When we called for the van, we were told it would be "10 minutes", 25 minutes later when we called, we were told it would be "10 minutes". It took 45 minutes. It took almost 15 minutes to get to the hotel with not much traffic, so I'm not sure how it works out to "10 minutes".
2. They offer free shuttle service to anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. They do this because there is almost NOWHERE you can walk to for food or anything else. Close to the airport? I guess. In the middle of nowhere? Yes.
3. We were told the van could take us the a local restaurant in "20 minutes". 35 minutes later, it pulled up and a group of people got in because they had been waiting almost an hour, and they were getting seats even though they weren't going where the van was going. We took a cab instead with some others to a local mall for lunch and when we returned, we were told by others we were waiting with that it took them 1 1/2 hours total until they were on the van to where they wanted to go.
4. We reserved a spot on a shuttle to the cruise port, but when the shuttle arrived, our names were nowhere on the list. The shuttle driver asked us who made the call to the service, and when we told him, the driver rolled his eyes, saying it wasn't surprising. There were almost twice as many people as spaces on the shuttle because many others were not on the list for the shuttle either. The shuttle driver called another shuttle and we all made it to the airport.

I will not stay here again.

Employees were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, decor was modern.  Best of all, they offer a flat rate for families whose children are being treated at the Miami Children's Hospital.  Close to the airport, close to the highways, and for us, close to Miami Children's Hospital.  Perfect!

Hands down the best hotel service ever, did not have one slight problem the whole five nights I stayed there. Beautiful scenery of the lake when you are sunbathing by the pool. I highly HIGHLY recommend booking this hotel even if its a little pricey of $137 a night I think its worth it.

Update: I am very pleased with how the Cambria Suites management handled situation.  The good news is that my first con is no longer an issue - they handled it very nicely and I'm pleased with the result.

The second con about the shuttle not running yet is just a time issue - they reimbursed the cab receipt with cash.

Hopefully, the last one about no soap in the bathroom is just a kink that they're working out with housekeeping.

Otherwise, the Cambria Suites - Miami Airport Blue Lagoon is a great new hotel to the Miami Airport area with a coffee bar, food options/restaurant, pool, and great spacious suites that can definitely fit small groups/families comfortably.  In my next stay to Miami, I would definitely book here again!

1) called the hotel for the airport shuttle 4 times, every time they said 15 minutes... It took them over an hour of us standing on a curb before they shower up.

2) our room was not ready when we showed up, despite being told we had early check in.

3) the food is average at best.

4) they reserved a 6:30 am airport shuttle under our name, then sent it with someone else.

My rating is 2.5. This hotel is Not an Miami In'l Airport Hotel. Between the traffic and road construction it's not 15 mins. ride away. Van pick up took more than 25 mins. and looking at the other reviews we were not the only yelpers with pick up problems. Once you arrive @ the property it's NICE. located next to a lagoon some wild life. Their restaurant over the lagoon. A/C works well, rooms look pretty new. Fridge, safe and M/W. Also they share the parking lot with another hotel.

They were doing a commercial in the dining room and used this as an excuse for taking over 30 minutes to pour our beers! Over 1.5 hrs to get over-cooked burgers and overpriced appetizers.

Our server Pierre couldn't manage a smile throughout the entire meal. He couldn't figure out that when drinks are empty it might be a good time to offer another one! Will never ever ever be back - figure out how to run a restaurant!

We stayed here for Easter Break! We traveled with our 3 year old daughter and the room set up was perfect! King bed for us with a flat screen an open wall between us, practically blocked from her and she slept on the pull out and had her own tv!
Great service. We ate there a few times for breakfast and dinner. Outside dining was nice near the pool and overlooking the lagoon. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was located just a short drive from Key Biscayne, the Miami Zoo, the Seaquarium, and the mall! I highly recommend staying at Cambria!

Overall a very nice hotel - very clean and staff was very friendly. I really liked having a separate living room area in our room.

I found the area to not be super convenient in general, as far as visiting other areas in Miami. Everything LOOKED close on a map but it ended up taking a long time to get anywhere. Anyway, if you want to stay in the Blue Lagoon area, this hotel was a great option and I got the room for a reasonable price.
