We chose this hotel based on location and availability.  We had one day between cruises to spend in Miami and wanted to be close to the ships.

The room had 2 twin beds which sucked, but at least we got a room.  For $250/night, I probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again unless I was really desparate.  It was trying to be high end but has a cheapness about it, from the crunchy comforters on the bed to the need for a paintjob.  We did use the 80's fabulous gym, which has 2 AC units and 2 TVS so my bf and I didn't have to agree on what to watch.

There is this ridiculous snack shop in the lobby with $1.25 granola bars and $2.15 sodas.  Of course, I wan't smart enough to realize soda was $1.50 in the vending machine.  But whatever, it was extortionate but I was hungry and thirsty.

I come here once a month for our Executive's Association meetings. The hotel seems to be nice at least for the lobby. Haven't had the pleasure of staying there. The food is mediocre, I think they are not allowed to use any type of seasoning. Must be a rule or something...  Best part of the hotel, Starbucks in the lobby that's always empty... Woot..!!!

I absolutely love courtyard hotels, but this one was perfection! Right across from the airport, gated in with the marriott and residence inn as well..Starbucks on site, as well as two restaurants as well. One restaurant  in  courtyard, which is more of a laid back sports bar, and the one in the marriott a bit more upscale. We dined at both restaurants.. Everything we ate, and or drank was very good!!..The marriott and courtyard share a pool, with a spa, as well as a nice area if you plan on grilling or lounging in some sofa chairs.. The staff was amazing, very friendly and on point. We asked for a refrigerator and more towels, both were brought rather quickly. We will definitely be coming back to this location on our next miami vacay!!

After our flight was delayed and calling twice to make sure our room was available for a late check in (after midnight ), we arrived at 1:30am to find we had to wait an hour for our room to be made available. it was 3 am by the time we checked in and had to leave at 7AM. Our shower had no hot water and there was pubic hair in the bathroom. It  looked like someone shaved everything off in there. I called about no hot water and they told me they would send a repair person up at 3AM. I declined and we just needed sleep. When I bitched to the front desk the next morning about the room not being available and the pubic hair they just blew me off. The parking is $20 bucks a night and something they do not advertise on their website. We were in our room for less than 4 hours, with no hot water and pubic hair in the bathroom and they offered no money off our stay. i have traveled a lot and a Marriott rewards member for years and will never stay here again. I suggest you do the same.

My work set me up in this place. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is I will admit that my room was clean. However, one big strike is they charge an obscene $14.95 for wifi. The restaurant also was expensive and had absolutely horrible service. My waitress never even brought me water, my house salad or desert, which were all supposed to be included with the meal voucher my company paid for. Can we say beyond shitty service. Just because I have a meal voucher I still expect to be treated with some dignity. Location is also exually crap, only positive is that it is near the airport.

I did not pay for this place, and would never do so or recommend it to anyone who is actually paying. This really is just the creme de la creme of a corporate scum of a company trying to gouge people. Definitely do not recommend for any corporate groups based on how I was treated.

All these hotels near the airport and I pick this p.o.s.? :(  The room was cold and muggy and no amount of heating/cooling could fix that stank feeling.

The bed was super uncomfortable, and the blankets were thin.  I asked for an extra blanket, but they never found their way up to my room.

Food at Champion downstairs isn't very appealing, so go across the street to Catch of the Day for a delicious and cheap Mahi Mahi sandwich.

It's a shame that this place has gotten such horrible reviews because my stay was really nice. The rooms are large, modern and clean. I didn't have any problems with the comforters, a/c units and we got free wifi in our rooms. The service was quick and easy-they were not overly friendly but they were not close to being rude. They have a nice lounge area downstairs and are conveniently located by the airport. We got a steal of a deal and they have free shuttle service to the airport. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Maybe, I stayed at a completely different place or this place got a revamp because the pool area was really nice and the gym was well equipped and clean with newer machines.

Lizette, the girl at the front desk, was quite possibly one of the nicest people I've ever encountered checking in at a hotel. After flying all day from Costa Rica, and having to leave super early the next day, I was really happy with how helpful she was. Between dinner recommendations, shuttle departure times, and just her general pleasant demeanor, it really made everything easier. Thanks Lizette!

I'll agree the room is clean. But lacking attention to detail and as a gold elite, I'm looking for details. Lets start with not telling me there are different elevators so 4420 doesn't mean 4th floor but level 2 in bldg 4 - how you forget to explain that? So when I figured out I was on 2, and wanted a higher floor, he admitted not looking at my profile. Now I'm on 8 via a different set of elevators and there's 1 wash cloth and 3 towels, which I found out on the way into the shower and had to deal..The big ass restaurant downstairs doesn't do room service, you can order and pick up, but wait, the menu in the room isn't accurate. The explanation    " this isn't a full service hotel, like the Marriott next door" You can't change the TV from the bed cause the armoire is blocking the frequency.  I guess next time I will be at the Marriott, since they don't realize the details, are what makes the difference.

My husband and I stayed here overnight to catch an early flight. The rooms were spacious and clean, however we were rather uncomfortable in our room as we were quite warm. Don't be fooled by the thermostat, you have no control over the temp. We were provided an ironing board but no iron. I had to call twice before they actually brought me one. There were exactly two bath towels, one hand towel and zero washcloths.  Their wifi is slow allowing me to do little more than web browsing and checking email. We had a drink in the bar and paying $14 for a single martini that was hardly chilled  was ridiculous.

I fly in and out of Miami frequently and love staying at the Marriott complex right next to the airport. I have literally stayed at every Marriott chain close to the airport and this is by far my favorite. The main Marriott is right next to it and the Courtyard is by far nicer and cleaner than the main one. There are three Marriott hotels located in the compound. I typically use a taxi to get there it's only 11 bucks and easier than finding the shuttle. I have taken the shuttle in the morning to get back there. They have one running ever 15 mins.

The pool is shared between all three hotels. There are several restaurants and a Starbucks! Another plus is free wifi in your room.

This is a good hotel, and it's priced about right for the area.  Here's how I break it down:

- Room was clean.
- Bathroom was clean and functional (no "ankle bath" back up in the shower).
- There's a Starbucks in the lobby of the conjoined Marriott for breakfast.
- The exercise facility is MASSIVE, I suppose because it's shared between three hotels.

- Not enough parking.
- Expensive, gated parking ($25/night).
- Requires key-card to get out of the parking lot (which the front desk failed to tell me about, requiring a return trip and wasted time).
- The layout is really crowded, with a Courtyard, a Marriott, and a Residence Inn on the same lot, sharing a giant, winding, parking lot.

So it's three stars.  The cleanliness is good, but it's an expectation, so they don't get bonus for just doing their jobs.  Nothing stands out, and the parking is a pain.  I think I'll find another hotel for my next visit to this area.

Had an early flight so we decided to stay near the airport on our last night of vacation. Very clean, up to date hotel. Room was big for a Courtyard. Convenient gas station next door so we could fill up our rental car before we return it. Had an enjoyable dinner at the restaraunt downstairs. Typical hotel food, but the beer was ice cold and the staff were very nice and attentive.

Worst hotel ever!!! We are on our Florida vacation now...and made reservations to 4 hotels as we drove up from Miami to Orlando for convenience. This courtyard Marriott was our first one.  My hubby and I double checked and paid for a king-bed, and when we got there, it was " sorry. You get two queens". No attempts to look to accommodate us...just deal with it attitude. She was so rude and condescending, it just put us off right away.

Then after we dropped off our luggage, we came down to ask for a toothpaste and possibly buy some water. We went into the "market" behind the front desk, and waited for good ten mins before we physically had to peek in and ask how much something was (no prices on any of them). The guy at the front didn't even look in...and just said "depending on what u want" and just went away. The end.

Are you kidding me??  We have never felt more unwelcome at a hotel!!! We travel 1-2 times a month for business, and twice a year for pleasure, and this was the worst service ever. We immediately cancelled all subsequent reservations at the marriotts following, and made last-min reservations to different Hilton brands, staying now at the Hilton Grand Vacation club in Orlando. The hotels are nicer...and service??? Impeccable!!!!! Still asked for toothpaste here, and they brought us 4BOXES of colgate-_-b.

In sum: mediocre hotel with worst front desk ever. They are not, by any means, trained properly for hospitality field, and we will make a former complaint when we get home. Do yourself a favor, and look for a Hilton now!!!!

Not a bad hotel for the price. The daily parking few of $17 per day is a little much for a group of hotels with plenty of parking

It's close proximity to Miami airport is good on one hand, but you can hear and see inbound flights.

Champions restaurant is less than stellar. Go elsewhere for food.

Why only 2 stars when the room is so clean? Beds super comfy?
Front desk staff!  Wow super rude....bringing rudeness to a new level!
Pity they will be losing my business

Rooms have nice beds and are pretty clean. However, the restaurant is not good at all. Poor menu and worse service. Servers standing together visiting so don't want to be bothered with guests. The lack of a nice place to eat and have a drink takes away from everything.

Obviously the reviews are quite mixed on this hotel and with mine coming in at 4 stars, I'll make sure to delve into both the good, bad, and great.

We didn't plan on staying here but after the world cup final, the decision was made to stay in Miami for two days to catch up with friends.

Having booked through an express deal, we were never told up front in any disclosure that there was a parking fee, being that this was a Courtyard Brand it was a rather shocking find. (Bad)

After checking in and asking for the manager's name so I could take up the parking issue with them the next day, we found that the wifi was inoperable. The wifi actually didn't work at all while we were there, although this wasn't confirmed until the evening before checkout. (Bad)

I wrote a handwritten letter for the manager and handed it directly to her prior to heading out on my second day at the hotel, with a specific request for her to contact me to discuss the issues above, I never heard back from her. (Bad)

(Get ready for really, really BAD) A phone call did come to me from the front desk however, this one stating that a woman who was trying to get into my room and they wouldn't let her since the key card was not working and she wasn't one the registration. Who was this lady? Oh, my wife, that's who. The one who shares my last name, had all her stuff in the room, had our son with us and has a driver's license address that matches mine. (BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD)

With my complaints over, here goes the better stuff.

Good Things: Very clean "campus" of three hotels. A room that was spotless and up to date. A sparkling pool. A very, very well equipped 24 hour gym!!! Multiple food options on location and within walking distance. A shuttle that always seemed to be running, and close proximity to several main roads.

Great: An employee by the name of Robert V. showed what a true leader in the hospitality field is all about. Well spoken and a great listener. He made us remember what makes the Marriott brand one of the leaders in the hotel field. Often times in Miami, you find service industry workers ready to dismiss the complaints of patrons due to the knowledge that so many visitors are from out of the country, but Robert was cut from a different cloth. Although he does hold a position of responsibility at the Courtyard Miami, Marriott should think about promoting him into a higher level of overall corporate leadership. His taking 10 minutes to discuss our concerns single handily raised this review from a 2 to a 4!

Perfect for Pre Cruise Stop
We chose not to stay down at the beach for our pre-cruise stop in Miami. With the cruise night stop package where they offer a free transfer to the cruise terminal the following day, this Courtyard property offered everything that we needed. A very busy place with so much traffic going in and out, the hotel managed to keep everything under control. This is a very large Marriott property with many extras to offer. The hotel offers the  best location to the airport with a free shuttle transfer and a very efficient transfer option to the cruise terminal. This package is very hard to beat for value.

Bonus: The breakfast buffet the following morning was excellent and way worth it.
