The room and view was great! Love that they have fresh food next door for better eating. I really liked this place and what they had to offer!

Used an e-certificate here as its one of the rare category 4 hotels in Miami in a great location. Was upgraded to a suite which was very clean and included a great view of downtown & the bay. Overnight parking is $24 with tax. You can retrieve your car and go in & out as many times as needed for the Same price. Friendly staff and great pool area even though it was too windy to hang out there. Plenty of computers are available to surf the web and print documents. Overall great experience at this Marriott. Cocowalk is just 4 blocks away.

    Weathered but well-run.

I am traveling, again. This time, south Florida for business.  My company booked me into this beach-view property, several blocks walk from the Coco-Walk area of Miami.

Upon arrival, we were well-greeted by the valet staff and front desk attendants. Our rooms were ready for an early check-in even though the property has been sold out the entire week.

Nice views and comparatively quiet. A further PLUS is that our rooms had large decks (almost as big as our room(s), so to speak).

Ironing boards, irons, coffee makers, ample towels and adequate tv/cable service to boot.

Downside: small bar area (off the lobby) with no view BUT a very attentive bartender and fair prices. Downside: a 10 minute walk to all restaurants or CVS or other possible conveniences......also, a $35.00 cab fare from MIA airport.

Free (but slow wi-fi) throughout the hotel. And a lovely upper deck pool (even though we saw very few people enjoying the fresh water.)

Good for business travelers (room rates at/about 160.00 per night), families.....and we saw quite a few airline crews staying here on their lay-overs.

Beds were very comfortable! Furnishings are modest but clean.

So the manager was supposed to comp our parking. The bill I received at checkout indicated that she did, in fact, comp our parking.  A few days later, a charge shows up on my credit card from this hotel.

I call and ask about the charge. Apparently, someone decided that I should be charged for parking after all.

Anyway, It's been almost a month and I still haven't received a refund.  I had to call numerous times and send an email to get a response.

The manager says she refunded me on 3/31 but it never processed. So today, I filed a claim to dispute the charge.

    This place sucks.

O.K., follow along with me here:  The average daily high temperature in Miami is 81 degrees.  This hotel finds it necessary to equip the beds with down duvets. So, you can max out the A/C, which is contrary to the "green" policy that management purports to adhere to, e.g. save the earth and re-use your towels, or you can shed the duvet and self modulate your core temperature-an ability that I lack. Annoying.....

A few more items that I found highly annoying:

The bathrooms contain a pedestal sink with zero counter space.
The rooms aren't very tidy-mine featured a live centipede in the bathroom and a piece of chocolate in a corner near the bathroom door-at least I think it was a piece of chocolate......

Maintenance is poor.  I stood in three inches of water everytime I took a shower, and there was toilet paper stuffed into the fire sprikler head to prevent it from dripping.

The "business center" features computers with the band width of a party phone line from the 1950's-painfully slow, and last but not least, we were scolded for drinking our own beer on the pool deck instead of the Marriott's $6/can Miller Lite.

The communal areas (the lobby, the snack bar, the pool deck) are nice, but for $160/ night, I would expect the rooms to be a tier or two better.

If your GPS has trouble finding a Courtyard by Marriott in Coconut Grove, that would probably be because this used to be a Doubletree.

It was fine for our purposes, we weren't in the room too much, which was good considering it was quite small (like San-Francisco-boutique-hotel small).

You can probably find a pretty good rate, but you'll also have to factor in $20 per night overnight valet parking, unless you're a morning person and will go feed the meters at 7 a.m. (no thank you). The front desk said you could call down to valet and they would fetch your car ahead of time, but only 50% of the time was this actually accomplished by the time we made our way down there.

The Courtyard by Marriot is a perfectly good hotel, but for the price ($239/night in peak season) it was nothing special.  Of course, that price was not all that high compared to other hotels in Miami at the time, and there were others that were far more expensive.

We stayed here two nights, from 3/22-3/24/12.  The room was not bad: pleasantly appointed, nice TV, room had a nice balcony (but not much of a view from ours), decent shower,  no fridge or mini-bar.  Bed was comfortable but instead of a duvet cover they just put the duvet in between two sheets, and there was a stain on the inside sheet.   Oddly enough there were no overhead lights over the main room itself, but there were plenty of rather nice lamps to keep the place well lit.

The staff we encountered were perfectly pleasant, and some were actually extremely friendly, especially on of the guys at the little cafe.  However, the cafe was pretty minimal, and there was no room service.

Parking's a bit much - $20 a night plus $5 every time the valet gets your car.  Apparently there is street parking to be found nearby, but we were always getting there late and in no mood for a search.

There's also a decent looking pool and some tennis courts, which we never got around to using.

All in all it was a perfectly good hotel, but at that price I expect a little extra.  Things like room service, a free breakfast, newspaper in the room.  For instance, when we realized we had forgotten something at the front desk, they were perfectly happy to hold it for us but no one offered to have it brought up to our room for us.  All pretty little things, but when you pay that much I expect them.

As usual, I am hitting another Marriott hotel for my trip in Miami. I needed to stay in the Coconut Grove area for a wedding and this place fits my needs. Very affordable for the area, you know this is a safe bet by going there. Pool was particularly nice with tennis courts, gym, Starbucks (on-site please), nice lobby area with produce available and free wifi. What more can I say??? Everything you need.

Location is very close to the Coconut Grove restaurants/shopping area and there is a fresh market across the street (similar to Whole Foods).

The only negative point was no self parking available so it is $20 valet. If you don't feel like it, there are plenty of meters spaces around.

This hotel was perfect for a spring "babymoon".  It's in Coconut Grove, which is still incredibly close to South Beach but you are in a more calm and quiet neighborhood.  In fact, I took several lovely walks along the water while staying in the hotel.  Several nearby parks and marinas make a gorgeous route.

The room was large and modern.  We had breakfast each morning from the little cafe and it was delicious.  Maybe a little pricey but luckily, our rooms included breakfast.  The pool is elevated from street level, which is nice.  The chairs were never more than 25% occupied, which made for a quiet and enjoyable retreat for lounging and reading.

To note: the valets are nice and mean well but they're a little confused on the parking laws.  We were told we could park on the street after 6:00pm for free.  Fast forward to the next morning and we come out to a ticket received at 6:45pm.  Ummm, what?  It was only about $20, but still....   We could have just put a few bucks in the meter!

If you're headed to Miami for the party scene, this hotel is not for you.  If you're there for a relaxing FL trip, definitely look into it!

Tiny room that is dominated with the bed and just enough room to navigate around it.

Blackout curtains work well and there was ample water pressure and hot water in the shower.

TV and channels were mostly in HD and they offer free unsecured WIFI.

And although it's near the water, there's not a beach around for miles.

Remember when this place used to be a DoubleTree?  Hilton Points?  Ahhh, the good ol' days.  Those days are over and this place, although physically just about the same short of some Marriott-izations, just isn't quite right.

Ignoring the charge for food I didn't order on my bill and forgetting the couple days I was there when they didn't change the towels, the biggest sign there is something going awry was the tray of empty glasses left in the hall by some guest.  That happens, and so I didn't think much of it when I checked in...but when they were still there 5 days later when I checked out, I had to wonder which of the staff members wandering the halls thought maybe that was cool.  All of them, apparently.  Or maybe they were distracted walking around the piles of sheets and blankets collected in the halls, staged perhaps for later transport to the laundry (noted as a good sign that someone's bedding gets changed).

The good things about this hotel are all about location.  While the hotel is a bit of a walk (10 mins max)  to the heart of the Grove, the views (you did get a room on the Marina side, right?) are great.  There is ample street parking with meters that I've never seen enforced (and if they were...valet:  $30, parking ticket:  $18) and so you get the dual thrill of saving money and beating the man.

    I'll stay elsewhere next time.

Comfortable, convenient, and an excellent value!!

I spent the better part of last summer staying here for work and I have to give this hotel it's due credit! The hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay but the lobby and rooms were modern and clean.

    Large modern outdoor pool
    Nice fitness room
    Great staff
    Good housekeeping
Starbucks cafe & small restaurant / bar in lobby
Complimentary computers and printing in the lobby
Well stocked convenience shop in the lobby
Nearby to excellent shopping and restaurants
Adjacent to "Fresh Market" (similar to Whole Foods) with tons of prepared foods, etc.

    The staff was great for:
    - going out of their way to put the complimentary coffee out extra early for me
    - providing me with a mini-fridge in the rooms that weren't equipped with one so that I could keep groceries
    - prompt valet every morning at 5:30

This place was great for business and for pleasure!! The conveniences made all the difference during the 2.5 months I stayed there!! I can't imagine I would have been as comfortable anywhere else!!

What a fine location for this spartan but serviceable hostelry! Sitting across from the splendid charter house restaurant and several marinas on the campy outskirts of the grove where eateries bars and cafés commingle. Pricey real estate and parking will no doubt cause a little frustration as it did during our visit during the reggae festival.
Not to miss a beat marriott is very happy to offer their overnight guests parking for 24 dollars a night if you choose to visit.
We were pleased w the clean and serviceable front desk and the very professional uniforms. We had booked our room through a booking agreement marriott has w mapquest. Marriott offers rooms through third party brokers and we were very delighted to find an offer for 219 dollars a night for a Special NFL package. Our receipt extolled the virtual pleasures of your own king room w two Pepsi beverages and two fri to lay snacks and two bud kites:!!!!! How cute!!! aND u get a twenty dollar gift card IF you check in w a Visa card !! Does this seem like a dream?? NFL Fritos lay oepsi visa and marriott AND mapquest collaborated on this promotion to encourage their brand and WE get to be feted by these wildly extravagant trinkets plus an additional 24 parking n room tax.the room w out this special was a mere $25 cheaper. Who wouldn't bite??!!!!!!!!!
That is where the dream ends and who can blame us for feeling a little foolish when we presented our receipt for the nfl package and marriott said cooly and w great emphasis. "We don't know anything about this, you should contact the third party and we can't honor this. Hey they weren't kidding!
For real they were as cool as a cucumber. I'm sitting in my spartan room searching for a Fritos a Pepsi or a sip of Bud. There is not even complimentary water. No mini frige and a rather foolish girl who got scammed by quite a few high rollers who must have sat up all night dreaming this up. It's all in a day for these guys and good for them.

We stayed at the CM Coconut Grove in Feb 2012.

    Things to like:
    - Rate was reasonable for the area
    - Close to Cocowalk
    - Pool
    - Comfortable Bed
    - Nice view if you get a balcony room
    - ample drawer and closet space
    - Large flat screen tv
    - free biz centre with boarding pass printing
    - small store (mkt) off the lobby to buy some snacks and drinks
    - there is a Fresh Market across the road with lots of different choices including prepared food, beer, wine etc.
    - free newspapers
    - Starbucks off the lobby
    - was cheap getting a cab even over to Merrick Park if you don't have a car
    - walkable to parks, Monty's, Chart House and the restaurants by Cocowalk

    Things we did not like:
    - they have low flow toilets.  Not great and we constantly had to double flush (so much for the energy/water savings)
    - bathoom was a bit small so if you have a lot of toiletries you might find a challenge putting everything on the counter
    - the parking is somewhat on the expensive side

Oustanding location location location.. Very clean, very home like feeling as it used to be an apartment/condo complex when originally built 50 years ago.  Lots of stuff right in the area to do, right up alongside the bay.  Great Pool area and pool deck.  Would stay here again for sure.  Great service.

WHen I arrived I realized I had stayed here when this property was a Doubletree.

The rooms have been remodeled and the restaurant replaced by one of those "Market Place" concepts.  The pool area is lovely.  The staff was helpful but pretty darn busy. Location hard to beat if you want to stay in the Grove.

Ojo!  Valet parking only @ $24/night.

The staff and location make up for the fact that this poor hotel needs a renovation in the worst way! Except for that I would give it five stars! It's a hidden gem right in the "Grove" within walking distance of the best restaurants and shops! Raul & Javier at the registration desk will ensure you are comfy and taken care of. The pool is clean, as is the lobby, which was renovated and there is a Starbucks onsite. Even though the place needs a renovation the rooms are CLEAN. Oh, and the beds...ahhh! Big marshmallows! THEY are new! Be sure to get a suite.  If you don't then don't say I didn't tell you...  the regular rooms are tiny! But the suites are awesome! The hotel used to be a condominium so you really feel at home. I stay here about once a month and love the place!

I would stay here again. The breakfast was good and the front desk was very courteous.  There is WIFI and also a cybercafe area. the pool area was beautiful, but I was not able to enjoy it due to the weather, rainy & cloudy all weekend. Monty's is a block away as well as Atchana's in the Mutiny Hotel. Another block away and there is a world of choices.

Very clean, very comfortable, and nice people.  Very nice area.  I am surprised I haven't written a review on this before.  The hotel is a very good choice if you are here on business.  I have enjoyed a special summer rate all summer.

Very close to the hotel are some nice shopping and nice park areas; there is water nearby but it's all marina since it's in a calm area of the bay.

Getting here without a car is simple, take the MetroRail to the Coconut Grove station and get on the Coconut Grove Circulator.

The Bistro is great for a quick breakfast too.

The location is great, and the facility is average, but the service was horrible.
There is literally no parking except for valet. So expect to spend $24 a night for valet with no other alternative.
Internet was virtually unusable, and we heard this from other guests as well.

We wouldn't even write a review for the hotel, but the management was so terrible  we have to comment.

Our family was given a group rate as an overflow hotel for a wedding. I called the woman, Viviana, who made the arrangements.. We spoke, she confirmed the rate, and made the reservation. Upon check-in, no rate card was given so we didn't realize they had increased our rate to rack-rate!
Every interaction with them from that point forward was rude. And when they finally admitted the mistake and corrected the rate, they never so much as apologized. We spent too much time working to get the rate back to what was agreed.
It wasn't a good experience and we travel often.

Ok hotel. Valet only, and pricey @25 a day. No other options for parking. However, valet was quick and courteous.

Room had balcony, which was great. The dreadful music from pool not so much. Depending on room, can see the bay. That's what people like I guess.

Next time in Miami, will probably not stay here again. Although valet is nice, I like to come and go as I please.

At least they had rooms. Everywhere I called was booked except this Marriott so I checked in for the night. Looks like it's only valet parking for $24 a night. The room, a king bed, was very tiny. The bathroom had no bathtub, just a shower stall. The AC was great though and the closet was huge. I believe the ice machines are only located on the 10 and 15 floors??
