I stayed at this hotel once, although it was only once, it left a pretty good impression. The kitchen was open, very clean, and the living room was also very clean. The tv was normal but it has a pretty good radio. The master bedroom wasn't that huge, but the bed was very comfortable. The master bathroom was also decently clean. CLEAN is very important, at least to me. Sometimes you stay in a hotel and you can tell that the floor itself isn't clean. This place was very comfortable. The view wasn't what I wanted but we got the side view of the ocean which was still very NICE! Lovely to wake up to and just sit outside.
Although we went in November and it was a bit breezy, the pool was heated, so it was perfect to go in. The jacuzzi was also very nice and a little off to the side, so you kind of have privacy if no one is out there. When you arrive to the hotel they give you fresh chocolate cookies that were to die for, so delicious! I think this was my favorite part =)
I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it to whoever is visiting, to stay in the summer so you can enjoy the beach. You walk out to the pool area pass the pool and your at the beach. Very close to restaurants in the area, all walking distance if you don't have a car and if you don't want to go out there is always room service, or you can cook your own meal in the kitchen.

Awesome hotel with nice, spacious and clean rooms with washer, dryer and good sized kitchen. The view from partial ocean view rooms is great , you can sit in the balcony and look at the ocean. Warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in and the breakfast buffet is decent. Complimentary towels and you can just walk down to the beach from the pool area..

Just returned from relaxing 4 day trip.
Super beach - it looked like a postcard from our 25th floor room. Upgraded to 2 bedroom suite full oceanview.
I'm a Diamond HHonors member so we had free breakfast certificates - this Doubletree included full breakfast for 2 room service - that was awesome. We discovered some really awesome places to eat in walking distance. Nice staff - and front desk manager.

First of all beware that the single (what the hotel refers to as a studio) rooms have only a partial ocean view. I would have spent a little more money when booking had this been clearly stated on the website. To their credit, the assistant manager offered to move us to a oceanfront view 1 bedroom once one freed up on the third day of our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel was so disappointing that we checked out on the third morning of our stay.
The staff was friendly. Unfortunately they seemed to be overworked and not all that bright. In the 2 full days we were there I saw only 21 staff members. 3 front desk, 4 managers, 2 maintenance, 2 bartenders, 1 waiter, 1 store clerk, 3 cleaning people, 1 spa receptionist, and 4 valets. This Doubletree lacked the normal unseen behind the scenes staff which keep a high quality hotel running smoothly.
A quick rundown of the main issues
1) the food at the restaurant was average at best
2) one hot tub wasn't working properly and the other was full of children
3) the room was outdated and a little unclean
4) the room safe was broken and maintenance couldn't fix it
5) ocean view room was what other hotels call a partial ocean view
6) to call theirs a spa is a bit of a stretch. It has a reception desk which doubles as the beach towel checkout facility for the entire hotel, a bookshelf with a few products, 3 or 4 treatment rooms, and a locker room shared by the gym.
The two redeeming qualities about this hotel were that it is directly on the beach and it was within walking distance of any amenities you may want.

Clean rooms, clean lobby, bathrooms. Crabtree & Evelyn products in the bathroom. Nice clock radio in room. All rooms have ocean view. Within steps of hotel is a pristine beach. Complimentary beach towels, nice gym. Spacious rooms and ultra comfy beds. Warm delicious cookies at check in. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wished we could've had a room with a balcony but the view was amazing. Washer and dryer on our floor and kitchen in room. Very comfy. Pool outdated but not bad. Will be renovated in October, 2011. Nice area. Would visit again!

This review took much thought and effort. Overall, I gave it 4 stars though it took time to stop and think about how I came to this score. The check-in process was OK. Not bad but not great. The gal at the corner was somewhat of a grouch. We saw my sweetheart was listed as the guest of the day and his name was a picture frame illustrating his status for that day. We made a big deal out of it. Grabbed the frame to take to our room, been traveling all day and she was not amused. We're in South Florida. Chill already and have a sense of humor.
The bellhop was a nice guy. He was fun and helped us with our bags up to our room. The "free" breakfast in the AM with our daily vouchers was OK. The free allows for cold foods only. Anything hot cost extra which is fine but the hot stuff is a 'do it yourself' omelette station among other hot items. I'm at a hotel why would I want to do anything myself on vacation? :) Still, it was a nice perk being Hilton Honors members.
What I found fascinating is the walk into the property and one very large room encompassing everything: desk, bar, lounge area, breakfast set up, restaurant. There aren't any designated areas on where things are its as if you're sharing literally ONE large floor space. It was an adjustment.
The BEST PART of the ENTIRE STAY has to do with Sheila, the bartendar at the bar by the pool. OMG where do we begin. She was delightful. It was crowded, couldn't find lounge chairs but we set up shop at a table with an umbrella which worked out fine. Soon as she spotted lounge chairs free she came to us and told us so we could snag them. She kept the Corona flowing SPOT ON with our needs. She offered ice water as we needed it. She was highly professional and very fun. Not a stick in the mud (hello, front desk gal). She was personable. She made enough small talk so it was pleasant and we didn't feel stalked. After a long day in the sun and we settled up our bill, Sheila found me at some point (I believe I was in the spa area waiting for to go to our couples massage) and she stopped to THANK ME for my boyfriend's highly generous tip. She was so appreciative and so gracious it was awesome. Great feeling to hear that from a staff member. Gave us a great feeling and no question, Sheila was sincere.
Spa services were awesome (see my review under Sea Salt Spa). The room was kicking. HUGE large suite with a wrap around balcony and two sliding glass doors one in the bedroom and the other in the living room. Great shower pressure. Huge bathrooms. Mirrors in every corner of the suite. Long full mirrors and generous lighting everywhere so you could get ready in front of the mirror of your choice and not feel like you're fighting for mirror space.
Huge dislike on their policy for no motorcycles on their property. We rented a Honda Goldwing the whole weekend and were not allowed to keep it safe on their property. We had to park it in a public lot across the street from the facility behind the WalGreens and hope to God it was still there everyday despite our pre-paid parking every 12 hours. Shame on us for not reading their policies online but then again, we would have never suspected. They could have been kinder in their communication to us about their policy when it came up. The valet staff was a bit abrupt and the manager was just OK. Going forward we will check ALL properties on their motorcycle policy as we travel and rent them as our chosen form of transportation. What would have helped smooth over this bump was a call at some point during our stay. How are things. What do you need. Everything OK? Nothing.
When we asked for more towels we were accommodated. The back half of the staff seems to be better than the front half. Don't know what it is. The property isn't old thoug there were pockets where it looked worn. Smudges on the elevator button plate that were never wiped off. Hand prints on the inside of the elevator mirrors that were never wiped away. The real upsetting moment was the gal who took our order on AM for breakfast and then disappeared. Upon going back to our room no longer than a half minute after we left breakfast she was cleaning up room service dishes from our 21st floor. REALLY...you have only ONE person manage the restaurant on the lobby floor AND have to clean up after others room service from the 21st floor? Not cool, Hilton. You're clearly understaffed.
In the end, we agreed we'd go back. We get the Double Tree is a different target market than a standard Hilton property and we get it now. Besides, Sheila and the Spa services and staff rocked it for us too much not to ever return.

I booked this hotel last minute since I had a friend coming in out of town. The hotel itself is nice, the view from the patio is a feast for the eyes, but the service here is completely in need of an overhaul. The staff from the valet to the front desk help provided slow service and bad attitudes.
Things started off nice but quickly went downhill after checking in. I wasn't aware of when the kitchen closed, so at 9:40pm I went downstairs to the patio to order dinner. I was told the kitchen closed at 10pm, however, the front desk made a call to bring a server outside for me. After waiting about 15 minutes, I gave up and decided I'd just order room service instead. When I got back to my room, my telephone was completely dead. I tried unplugging and plugging it back in but to no avail it still wouldn't work. So, I had to go back downstairs to complain about that. I was then able to give my room service order, which surprisingly didn't wait too long. The room service menu could do better though.
The in room accommodations were okay but a little dated. The room I booked was a suite with two beds, one which was placed within inches of the room fridge. A really tight squeeze which I wasn't happy with, but the beds were comfy.
Checkout: When I booked the hotel I was given a complimentary $50 credit for a special package to be used for drinks/food. When I checked out the following morning the front desk informed me I still had it available. I asked why I couldn't use it towards the room service I ordered the night before. I was a little perturbed that I had to remind them of this when the credit was right on my printed check out balance, which showed my room service charge. Sorry, but if I have to tell you how to do your job, you immediately lose points in my book.
The chances of me ever staying here again are slim. Even though my room had an ocean view, it could have been better for the price. And the service alone leaves something to be desired. It seems the only pros to this hotel is the private beach, but I'm sure other hotels in the same area offer the same.

Stayed here on Saturday night (Feb 8th) and from the moment I pulled into valet, we were treated like valued guests. Upon checking in, which we were a few hours early, the front desk staff made sure we were accommodated and also being a HiltonHonors reward member, we were upgraded to a mini suite prior to arrival.
The restaurant downstairs was good, breakfast was excellent and the room was great. We only had a partial view of the room, but the weather was so great it didn't really matter.
I definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in the Aventura/North Miami Beach area.
The only con is the signage for the hotel, very hard to see from the road.

My partner and I went to the Doubletree for a wedding during a weekend in June, and overall, we were not terribly impressed. We got to the hotel a little more than an hour before check-in, and you would think with the immense scale of this hotel, they would have a room in our category ready, but they did not. We had to wait past check-in time for room, and we only found out when we called downstairs from my family member's room to see if our room was ready. We were upgraded to a suite because of our status of Hilton, so that was marginally good, but there was no view and anything under floor 10 is too low to appreciate the surroundings..
However, the overall impression that I got from this hotel was that it was "past its prime." The walkways -- and particularly the elevator -- seemed old and run down. This being a beach hotel, you expect some sand and wetness in the main areas and near the beach, but this was a bit too much for my taste. There was the feeling of humidity of dampness and mildew in the elevator. I think that this is was just a beachfront resort property that was on its way down and Doubletree bought it and slapped its name on it. It is a much larger Doubletree than I would normally be used to.
The breakfast was standard, nothing special, but a bit pricey for the full buffet.
Also, the location seemed a bit out-of-the-way. I guess for a resort like this, the beach and hotel is the destination itself. If you don't plan on going elsewhere, then this is the right place since it's right on the beach. There isn't much within walking distance and you'd have a long cab ride to Miami Beach or other touristy places. The parking fee is rather exorbitant if you bring a rental car.
I don't think i would recommend this Doubletree, but since we were staying here because of a wedding, we did not shop around or compare hotels -- so, the other hotels could have these same problems.

Had the pleasure of staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Ocean Point Resort & Spa after a cruise and I have to admit that this place was great. I arrived early about 11:30 and was greeted with a smile an a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. When trying to check in I was informed that my room was not yet ready however they offered to take my bags and call me as soon as the room was ready. I headed down the street to grab a bit to eat, and it wasn't even 15 minutes before the hotel had called stating my room was ready, amazing!
As soon as I returned I got my key and was told that they would bring up my bags shortly, upon entering the room I was amazed. The pictures on Yelp do not do this hotel justice, the rooms are HUGE, with a decent sized kitchen and a large living room and bedroom with a walk in closet and a large bathroom with a walk in shower, jacuzzi tub, two sinks and even a bidet. The bed was comfortable, and so were the pillows which are often the worst when staying in a hotel. The view from the balcony was great, I had a chaise recliner and a patio table which came in handy during the evening. I loved sitting on the patio with a nice glass of wine while watching the ships out in the distance. I almost forgot to mention that both TVs come with a complete cable lineup, not like most hotels that have a limited channel selection. I could have moved right into this room, it was ideal and larger than some one bedroom apartments I have seen.
The beach is nice, however I was told that there was a slight chance of jellyfish so I decided to avoid the water and just enjoy the beach. The hotel did charge a fee for chairs and clamshells for shade, however I avoided this and just took my towel to the sand brought our the iPhone and relaxed with some tunes. Made for a great afternoon.
Prices were fairly reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the area, the booking rate was $249/night and considering the size of the room, the location, and the beach this is a tremendous value.
I did have one problem with this hotel, and its with the valet service. I called about 9:00PM on a Saturday evening asking for a taxi, and was informed that it should be here within 20 minutes, nearly 30 minutes later no taxi. When I called back down they said that they called and it should be here any minute, fast forward another 35 minutes still no call stating my taxi had arrived. I decided I was no longer going to wait in the room and headed downstairs and talked with the front desk, who proceeded to walk out to the valet who had no idea when they taxi would arrive. I was told that I would probably have better luck walking down to Collins Ave and try to flag down a taxi myself. After about 10 minutes a Tropical Taxi stopped and was amazing. Returning to the hotel later was even easier, a quick call to Tropical Taxi had a taxi at my location in less than 5 minutes. Not sure why the Doubletree isn't using Tropical Taxi, they are amazing. If you are staying here, do yourself a favor avoid the valet for taxi service and call Tropical Taxi / Miami Beach Taxi @ 305-681-6666.
Aside from the taxi mess I highly recommend this hotel, I do not think you will be disappointed.

This is WAS my go to place in Miami for many reasons. The beach access at this hotel is amazing and I love the valet parking. I have stayed here more times than I can count with my bf. The valet parking employees are really polite and always remember our names!
The last visit was NOT as pleasant at the beginning of my vacation. After traveling all day I arrived at check in time only to be told that I could not check in but not shower for at least 4 hours. The woman at the front desk told me that the shower caulking needed to dry. I was told that the family before me checked out late and they could not caulk the tub.
I was offered no compensation for the inconvenience and I really needed to shower especially after two flights and traveling since 3am. I consider this to be totally unacceptable especially because I am a frequent guest here and I was paying more than $550 a night for my condo and I stayed 4 nights 5 days. Its really a shame that our trip started off so badly. I was traveling with a child and it wasn't pleasant not being able to use the bathroom nor was it nice that the woman at the front desk was totally unapologetic about it.
I guess your not valued as a frequent guest during the summer season when this place earns the most money. I have been staying here for about 5 years! I will look else where. Sometimes saying "I'm sorry for the inconvenience," goes a long way.

Absolutely gorgeous terrace dining for light lunch - service excellent, wine list has something for everyone, & food is lovely! Limited menu but wide range and lots of light options for beachside dining - sweet little experience for taking in the beauty of the beach and water, right @ my fingertips!

I'm a Gold Hilton Honors member. I booked this hotel via the Hilton web site for my October 2014 stay. The $27 parking charge was very high in my opinon, plus the additional tips to the parking personel.
Once inside the hotel, our walk down the hallway was blocked by trash, large bags and boxes. Oncie nside the room, the bathroom had mold, the patio doors were to hard to roll open, and the curtains were dirty with hand prints.
I'll never book this hotel again.

We stayed here last month (July) for four nights. We loved it. The location is great, both for the beach and the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was not ready when we arrived and I think that happens often. Be prepared. Oh and the restaurant is good. And the little market by the pool has very reasonably priced snacks. We had a grilled cheese sandwich and chips for $3. Wifi comes with your resort fee.

Awww....We just had an incredible stay here.
After doing a ton of research on places to go in Miami, I decided to give this hotel a call and see what good deals they had to offer and am I ever go glad I decided to make that call.
We ended up getting a junior suite with a kitchen and an excellent view of the ocean all for a worthwhile price.
The resort is located off collins ave right on the beach. The main entrance is a little awkward. You drive up to what appears to be an area that could be on the side of a hotel which is the main entrance. You walk in, the concierge service desk is to your right and the front desk is to your left facing the beach.
They greet you with freshly made warm cookies for you to take to your room : )
Our rooms were even better then expected with a living room all newly updated, a nice decent sized kitchen, a bedroom with a extremely large comfy bed with a flat screen, a large bathroom with a huge Jacuzzi tub and outstanding views of the ocean...needless to say, we were happy campers!
Most of the staff here were absolutely outstandingl!!!!There was just one supervisor lady (I think named Deby) at the front desk, that seemed to have a major attitude however, everyone else surpassed our expectations by far and made us feel like kings and queens!
The food here for the most part, was phenomenal! The steaks (we had twice ) were always cooked to perfection and seasoned heavenly! The coconut crusted mahi mahi was outstanding as well! All the food was always presented beautifully and decorated to an art!
The outside pool area was quite nice! Two Jacuzzis with one having a waterfall leading down. The pool was ground level that you just walked out in to. The gates lead onto the beautiful beach. We rented a cabana for $25.00 we got it for $20.00 though because the hotel books in the rooms have not been updated and say they are $20.00 so we mentioned that and got the deduction : )
Daniel the concierge was absolutely wonderful!! What would we have done with out him wow! He lead us to some outstanding 5 star restaurants that really impressed us and with anything else he lead us in the right direction!!
Our kitchen was also equipped with all the cooking necessity's which gave us the opportunity to do a little breakfast cooking.
Overall, I though everything was outstanding minus just a few minor things but other than that, I would come back in a heart beat!

The property and staff are great. My favorite people are the valet staff. 5 stars for the property and staff. The bad, Upon check in I was not recognized as a elite member, was not given anything, no welcome gift no breakfast vouchers nothing, 1 star for check in. After dropping a note at the front desk about some issues they left the items in my room a few days later. The vouchers are pretty much useless unless you just want to go down sit and eat a doughnut or fruit and have a juice. I wanted to just grab two or three things and come up to my room to work and was told I could not take anything from the buffet that they have to "prepare my continental breakfast in the back" while I wait or order room service which has a $3 fee, 18% charge and then of course a tip. This is stupid to me, every hotel I stay at I can just grab some food and return to my room to work (300+ nights a year). I'm here about two weeks and was going to try to stay a third instead of moving to the W with my staff but now I'm ready to leave because I think the policy is stupid. The fruit and pastries are sitting there, why can't I grab a plate put a few things on it and come to my room??? I feel it is offered because they have to offer it to elites but they make it complicated so you won't use it. 1 star for stupid execution of a elite benefit.

Nicer than many other Doubletrees, in terms of cleanliness.
Solid, friendly, competent staff.
Mattresses need to be replaced. Far too soft - they sink almost halfway to the floor when sitting down on them! But, shockingly, I've encountered worse before (at The Ritz Carlton in Atlanta). Pillows & sheets: good. Missing mattress covers - just using a top sheet as a pretend, (un)fitted bottom sheet. No layer in between.
Nice, quiet & gentle A/C.
Upgraded to a suite with kitchen, laundry, living room & beautiful balcony! Loved it! Rockin' the gold status and hotel points. :)

They sucked and smelled like sewer. Then I had to deal with some valet confusion that just about pushed me over the edge. And that's not the kicker, I'm not the one staying here! It's just on my business card so I have to get my co-worker every day.

Besides the location and cleanness not much to expect from this hotel. You are automatically charged $25 for lounge chairs per room. If you want an umbrella that's additional $25 plus 20% gratuity (included). Seriously ridiculous. Don't use the concierge for tour booking, they'll add their own 40% charge to anything you buy. I booked a tour bus had to pay $45 then to find out it only costs $27. Also you're guaranteed 2 free drinks a day per room, asking for the drinks is like inconveniencing them. I asked for hot chocolate and all I got was a small cup of hot brown water. Also no hot water for two days!

I'm a Hilton Diamond member but this place is definitely a brand loyalty killer. Besides the free breakfast tickets, there was no advantage to the Diamond membership. In fact, based on the room I got, I'd hate to see what happens to non-Diamond members.
Lousy attitude on display from the time you leave your car with the valet and goes downhill from there. For $353.69 (with parking), I got a partial ocean view, a dilapidated room (molding has become unfixed from walls, closet door off hinges, cracked tiling in bathroom, bath that won't drain, etc.) and, with all due respect, the kind of service I would expect in South America.
$27 valet parking fee and I had to ask for car three times on one occasion and twice on another. $20 resort fee but got kicked out of the pool (with around 8 other guests at 7:00 PM as pool is only open from "dawn to dusk").
I won't be back and really need to switch my brand loyalty to Marriott.

We stayed here W-Saturday last week. I was a bit concerned over reading some negative reviews the day before we arrived. I'm happy to say our stay was amazing!
The staff are very friendly and attentive. Every employee we encountered (even in the elevator) asked how our stay was and if there was anything we needed.
There is construction in progress next to the hotel and you do hear some related noise if you are on that side of the hotel. We found it rather entertaining to sit on the balcony and watch the construction process.
The pool is nice yet is on the smaller side and has two hot tubs. Tip: the chairs at the pool get taken up quickly. If you want poolside chairs be warned that people go get towels at the market and lay them on the chairs to reserve them for the day. If you miss getting pool chairs go to the beach and try the pool again around 2pm in the afternoon. The crowd at the pool thinned out each afternoon and we found chairs easily.
There are also chairs, umbrella's, double bed loungers, and cabana's available on the beach (some of these items are fee based-check with the beach attendants at the little hut on the way out to the beach). We tried all of the above on different days and each were very comfortable. To be honest I'm happy to sit on a towel in the sand if I'm at the beach so the various options were above and beyond for me!
We had room service one night and it was great. Hubs had a steak ordered medium and it came out perfect. I had a grilled cheese (my normal hotel meal) and it was perfect and served with thick cut fries.
The one bedroom suite with balcony is spacious and comfortable. The full kitchen and separation of living room and bedroom was ideal.
This hotel is great for couples and families with children. I'm considering a girls weekend here later in the summer.
On our last night the front desk called to ask if we were pleased with our stay and if anything would have made it better. I let them know I was happy and sarcastically said the only thing that could make it better would be a couple more of the cookies we were given upon checking.
Within 30 minutes a bag of cookies were delivered to our room.
Overall great experience! Very relaxing and will go back again.
