This is a five star facility being managed and maintained by the three star staff. The hotel lobby and the rooms are lovely, but the first room we checked into had not been properly cleaned. We changed rooms and the second room wasn't much better. We stayed the night anyway. It was late. The carpet had that "sticky" feeling that tells you it was long overdue for a serious steam cleaning. The bathtub was peeling... yes, peeling (some sort of badly done re-finish). The sheets were clean, but stained. The other guests at the hotel ranged fom professional types to some pretty scary gang-bangers who were hanging out in the lobby and loudly going on and on in some of the most vulgar language I have heard in a long time.

I just returned from a night in this horror of a hotel. Booked a room due to it's close proximity to Sun Life Stadium. Watched Rays vs Marlins, then returned to madness at hotel. Parking lot, lobby and hallways turned into a big nasty party. People yelling in hallways, doors slamming, running thru hallway and loud music and horn honking in parking lot. This continued thru the night. Impossible to sleep! Packed and left at 4:30 to witness weed smoking teenagers in the elevators and lobby packed with people socializing. 4:30 IN THE MORNING!!! Parking resembled a concert parking lot! The worst experience in all my life. Given a choice...pick any other hotel on the planet!

I can't speak for the establishment itself but I was booked here for a trip I was supposed to take to Miami this weekend, however my flight there was canceled thanks to AA and the fire at Miami International Airport. Vincent, the sales manager, didn't bat an eye when I told him my flight was canceled and that I had to cancel my trip because I could not be accommodated to get to Miami by no later than Friday. Again, can't speak for the conditions of this hotel but I will say the sales manager was empathetic and understanding of my situation.

When there last year for WrestleMania 28. A complete dump. The customer service was horrible. They had no idea what they were doing and made many mistakes. The elevator shock on the ride up. The rooms were not clean. The restaurant was barely open. Then, their continental breakfast was white bread.

Okay if you are just staying here to be near the Sun Life Stadium
I'll do pro's and con's.
Pros: About a mile or so to the stadium. You can walk or they have a shuttle which is $15 round trip. We walked, you go around the back of the building through the race track parking lot and out to the street/sidewalk to stadium.
Rooms were clean.
Check in/out was easy.
Air worked well.
Police substation in hotel (don't know if that was a good or bad sign). We didn't have any problems.
We had no clue what the hotel had to offer, nothing mentioned or flyer in room about restaurant/pool, golf course, etc., Room was a bit smelly (moldy smell) until we turned on the air. Bathroom shower was barely usable, more water on the floor than ourselves. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Door was falling apart. Screws were coming out and room keys worked intermittently. We had to go down twice to have them rescanned. Nothing around this hotel so you are pretty much stuck unless you are planning to go to a football game (we were). Stadium is close by.
All in all if I had to do it over I would investigate other hotels and see if they offered shuttles to game. Price was just too high for this 2 star outdated hotel.

Classic and nostalgic-feeling place to stay! When we trek down to MIA to watch the Cards face off against the Fish, this is where we stay. It's literally minutes from the stadium, and the prices aren't half bad. The rooms are always clean and the staff is just friendly enough to make your stay enjoyable.
I'm not sure where the Fish are building their new stadium, so it's up in the air whether we will return to El Palacio. Proximity to the park is always our top priority.

Good Place If You're Limited on $$ And Don't Have Many Options. A lot of the people in the hotel are actually living there @ 895.00 a month. The breakfast is clean and simple cereal, toast,OJ,Apple Juice, cheese and cherry Danishes, muffins, bananas, apples, and activia yogurts. You cannot take a single piece of bread out of the cafeteria which I guess is because of the tenants who live there. Bathrooms need renovating but are clean. The rooms are old school but decent. Wifi is great and also terrible at times. The room service never showed up in a 5 day stay. Parking is always full and far from main entrance. Pool is clean 9 hole mini golf course is decent. Basketball courts. No gymnasium. To sum it all up I didn't like t won't go back.

My journey to Miami over the weekend to attend my third Wrestlemania (also went to Wrestlemania 21 and Wrestlemania 26) ultimately began when I chekced into the El Palacio Sports Hotel. Now, I'm really not picky when it comes to hotels and basically have only four things that I ask for:
- Free Wi-Fi in my room
- Some sort of breakfast
- Comfortable beds
- Great cleaning service
I really felt that El Palacio was just...meh. Like...they are doing the bare minimum for you to just feel...content. Not happy or joyous...just content. Like...El Palacio is a great facility. They have so many great amenities from basketball courts, to a full gym, the swimming pools, and even a fun little mini-gold course...but I feel like for the price I was paying...there should have been more. Maybe it was the lack of service, and lack of a respectful, friendly hotel staff...or maybe it was just the overall sense of just..."blah", that I felt like El Palacio was doing just the bare minimum. Enough to show they are running a hotel, but not enough to show they actually care about you coming back. It's a really weird feeling to describe. I was certainly happy with the hotel and all their wonderful amenities, but...I have no inclination to ever go back if I find myself back in Miami...and that's where I think the overall problem I am having with El Palacio - they just...didn't have that personal touch. That really warm, great feeling you get from other hotels where you truly feel like you're at a temporary home. I've felt that at other hotels, but I just didn't feel that at El Palacio, because I just don't believe that they care about providing that personal touch that makes you're stay at any hotel that much more welcoming.
This isn't to say El Palacio is a bad place by any means, but I feel like they can do so much more and so much better if they actually tried. They have a wonderful hotel - they just need to give it that personal touch. They also need to tell their staff to be more happy and upbeat.
