I have stayed at several Embassy Suites and this one is pretty average.   Very good cooked-to-order breakfast.  Decent service.  Room was very clean and spacious.  Parking is $15 per night self parking and $20 for valet.  Very close to Miami International.

stayed here for 3 nights, like it a lot, they have great breakfasts, good room service.   The only down fall is, it's too close to the airport, heard planes goes by until 12 midnight...too loud.

I stay in a lot of hotels because of business - so I'm kind of hard to please. This hotel impressed me - sure its near the airport so it's a bit noisy at night - but the planes stop. The hotel itself is a great building inside, the pool was food and I tried the hot tub which was brilliant and seated up to 18 people. Best of all though was the hotel staff - they were all very polite and the breakfast team especially so.  Checking in was a quick process.  Good hotel, great value.

    Free shuttle
    Nice rooms

Staff are pretty much useless although friendly.  If you truly need anything you are screwed.
In house restaurant poor food and poor service

We were in town two nights. The first night was upon arrival into MIA and the other was the night before a very early flight out.

The hotel is an older Embassy Suites, but it was nice and clean. The cooked to order breakfast was quite good and we always enjoy the Manager's Reception, especially after a long day of flying.

The staff upon check-in on our first night was not anything special, not real friendly, basically did their job. The second night, a storm had gone through Miami and lightening had struck a pole close to the hotel and there was no power, one elevator was working, no hot water for a shower and no lights in the room. The staff this night was very nice, apologetic, although it was not their fault. The power was on within an hour, so it was fine.

The hotel offers shuttle service to and from MIA and it runs every 30 minutes starting at 5 am. There is a restaurant in the hotel, Barcelona Steakhouse and the food is pretty good. They serve Omaha Steaks which are a great quality, it was cooked to our liking and the service was very good. We were glad the restaurant was there as there is nothing close by and neither night did we have our rental car yet. I have to say their Key Lime Pie was delicious, if you are looking for a Florida treat.

I would stay again when going in and out of MIA International, no complaints, our wake up call was on time, the hotel was quiet, all in all a great stay.

Stayed here in August for a night, before our cruise. Many coworkers suggested this place and I am so happy I listened! It's near the airport and it's no biggie. As soon as we got there, we felt so comfortable. It's got a tropical feel and it's really inviting. The happy hour is amazing. Free booze and goldfish! Sweet! And the bartenders aren't stingy with the alcohol either. The concierge was great. I would definitely stay here again.

    Stay: 12-15 January 2011
    Nature of stay: Business/Conference

-good free breakfast every morning with plenty of seating in a beautiful atrium (ES Std)
-spacious clean rooms with two flat-screen TVs
-comfy beds with multiple pillow choices (Hilton Std)
    -friendly staff
-managers reception each night with free drinks (ES Std)
-close to MIA (but nothing else)

-no heat in the whole hotel
    -concierge staff almost useless
    -inconvenient location

Most of the items on my Pros list are either Hilton or ES standards but all hotels don't do a good job at them; this one did.

The food was about as good as you can expect for a buffet style setting. Omelets/eggs to order, several meat choices, pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits/gravy, pastries, fruit, coffee, tea, juices, etc. The doughnuts were stale everyday though...

Managers reception is more then you could ask for considering it's free. They had half a dozen or so name brand spirits as well as draft beer and wine to choose from.

The staff seemed very friendly and sincere but there was little follow-up if you inquired about something.

It is Miami but there happened to be a cold front that week and the temp was in the 50's-60's the whole week. Not really a problem except there was no heat in the whole building. In the mornings it was about 62 degs in the room. The peak temp in my room for the week was 65 degs. you could tell it was a problem when there was space heaters at the front desk and they brought in several heaters to the conference room we were in.

The hotel is close to the airport and free shuttles are offered to and fro but on schedule not demand so I ended up waiting 35 minutes to be picked up upon arrival. The pick-up/drop-off is in departures section only.

Rental car is highly recommended unless you plan to stay on the hotel grounds. Other than the airport there is nothing within safe walking distance of the hotel. Once you exit the hotel property you are immediately on a busy thoroughfare with no sidewalks and no shoulder.

Walking time to nearest points of interest:

    Bus line: 10 mins
    Burger King: 10 mins
    Bennigans: 15 mins

    Taxi fare (depending on traffic)

    Downtown Miami: $20-$30
    Miami Beach: $35-$50

The concierge seemed to mean well but was really more harm then help. I inquired how much it would be for a taxi to the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise (for Panthers Hockey) and they told me about $25, the actual cost is closer to $85. The second and final time I consulted the concierge was to set up a tour and 45 minutes after being assured it would be any minute he finally called back and found out the guy wasn't coming anymore. I understand I could have been more proactive on both of these but it is the job of the concierge to handle these types of requests.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to spend their whole stay on site for a conference but if you want to see the sights you may want to consider something closer to downtown or beach area.

Has a some what worn feeling once you are there for a while. Rooms are ok. The bedroom TV was not working, no picture, only audio. Due to the setup of the rooms with the bar/dinning area, there tends to be a lot of noise throughout the day/night. Hotel is located in a real shady area, then again, it an airport hotel. Id probably stay again, but only because there arent too many Hilton properties near by.

For the most part, this Embassy Suites resembled any other which is a good thing as I really adore this chain.  I was quite pleased with the very large, clean room which I found to be especially comfortable.  I loved the design of the central atrium and the abundant plants; I think Embassy Suites always manage to make great use of their hotel space.  The evening happy hour was mostly a success with plenty of free drinks, but I was disappointed that the rum and cokes were mixed with generic soda.  The gift shop was fairly useful for us with a decent selection of necessities, and the prices there were not marked up too much.  All of the staff was pretty friendly and helpful.  The only clear disappointment was the complimentary, all-inclusive breakfast.  I was so looking forward to my made-to-order omelet!  Unfortunately, they prepared it on the griddle instead of in an omelet pan, and it was not particularly good.  They had an attractive on-site restaurant for the other meals, but we were pretty pleased to have a whole host of delivery options instead with attractive prices.  Great access to the airport and Little Havana.  I would gladly stay here again, save for the breakfast.  Rack rates were $170.99/night during my stay.

I stayed here in January and can make this review pretty short:

    - Breakfast is ok
    - Atrium has a tropical feel

    - A/C does not cool the rooms properly even when when turned all the way up, stays humid/muggy
    - Poor sound insulation between room and hallway
    - Rude front desk staff, poor customer service
    - View of strip club neon sign from my room
    - Somewhat unclean and dated rooms
    - No free wifi and I could never get the business center up and going enough to check my email

I would NEVER stay here again, it was a bad experience. If you are a Hilton rewards member stay somewhere else and you wont regret it.

I thought this place looked kinda ehhh but then when I stayed here for 5 days I thought wrong. It was pretty cool place. But the only problem is you can hear the airplanes flying by.

The front desk was very helpful with anything we needed. From directions to places to try out. Or our needs in the place.

This place serves morning breakfast which I didn't get to try out cause I would sleep thru the morning. But my mom and uncle did. And they said it was great. Great that they did not have to go out of the hotel and look for places to eat. But then it got tiresome after the 3rd day but they still ate it. The only thing I wish they had was Cuban coffee (cortidito sp?). That would have just made my trip to the cafe much easier. But it's cool with me. Then in the early evening they served free mixed drinks or beer for FREE... yes FREE.. (well don't forget to tip of course) The drinks were great and strong. The best kind.

The house keepers kept our room nice and tidy. The bell people awesome. Gate people are friendly. Parking is in lot but you have to pay If I remember $15. a nite. not sure about that. They have wi-fi but there is a charge so just go down to the business center where it's FREE.

Overall I would stay here again. It's close to the airport and it's close to all the great Cuban restaurants.

Overall an ok place to stay before a cruise. There was some noise with the airport being next to the hotel, but that was to be expected. The parking is kind of a rip off considering it isn't a downtown hotel, it really should be free or at least validated for hotel guests. Wifi is not free, which in this day in age I still don't understand. The breakfast was good as were the happy hour drinks that were included in the price. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, shuttles to the cruise port are $10 a person and a cab is a little over $20. There were 4 of us so we just took a cab. Will I stay here again? It's possible but I'd rather stay closer to the city where there is more nearby, even if its considerably more.

Stayed here for 17 nights as part of a business trip, so I feel well-qualified to rate this place two stars.

Overall, it was just ok.  I probably would never stay here again, based on the other hotels in the area, but it served its purpose.  As you would expect, during the week it was pretty quiet with mostly business people, and the weekends were insane with lots of annoying tourists with a mind-boggling amount of luggage.

-Great fitness room!  There was only someone else in there once - three treadmills (though all were broken when I was there), three ellipticals, a rower, and free weights.  All the cardio has individual TVs, which rocked!
-Decent free breakfast.  It gets really old when you're there for more than a few days, but if you stayed here for leisure and wanted to save money, this would be great.
-Free drinks from 530-730 every day.  Some Embassy Suites have limits on these, but this one doesn't appear to.  Decent liquor: Jim Beam, Gordon's, etc.  They make a variety of mixed drinks, as well as beer and wine.

-Noise.  Nothing from the airport or courtyard, which was nice, but I could seriously hear the people above me peeing.  Very clearly.
-Seems to be a little dated.  The room was clean, but not as nice as other Embassy Suites I've stayed in.  The shower handle was partially broken in my room.
-The location kind of sucks - there aren't many good restaurants around, there's nothing to walk to, etc.  Only good if you need to get to the airport early, since that is right next door.
-They charge a ton for parking even though it's clearly in the middle of nowhere, with empty businesses next to it.
-No free wi-fi.  And it's pricey - I think it was $12/day?  Maybe $15, can't remember for sure.

Room was not clean. Dusty flip flop under the sink. Musty smell. Manager's reception great if you just want a drink but popcorn and nacho chips not a good food choice. No restaurants near this location.
Parking is not good. Grass strip separates two parking areas. Not so easy to pull a bag through the grass.
Added to my never again list.

I stayed at this "Embassy Suites Hotel" on 4/10/2011 and again on 4/15/2011.  My 4 night "Majesty of the Seas" cruise in between.   I was very pleased with my stay here.  They had a nice restaurant called the "Barcelona Steakhouse" inside (I ate there twice) and I was able to do my laundry while in port.

YAY!! So I was in Miami this past weekend and we stayed here! We had about 200 people in our group give or take.. We were in Miami for a convention and this hotel was sooooooo convenient!!! The staff here was super nice!!! They had crabtree and evelyn toiletries!!! FREEEEEEE breakfast every morning!!! and its not your regular like toast and milk breakfast.. its the wholee 9 yards.. eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, juice, coffee, milk, toast, mufffins, bagels, fruits and much more.. its all unlimited too! SOOO niceeeeee. ( I WAS SO EXCITED TO TRY A GRAPEFRUIT IN MIAMI) LOL IT WAS SOOOO GOOOD!!! rooms can sleep about 6 people... so its pretty nice. There are 3 sinks in the hotel room.. so Its good for large groups. They also have a free shuttle to take you around. I think it only goes 3 miles out thoough....

The only reason why I gave them one less star is because the shuttles were kinda slow picking you up at the airport... but besides that everything was pretty good for the price.

lastly... if your going to stay here make sure you fly to MIA instead of FLL. cause the taxi to and from FLL is 80 bucks......

oh and WIFI is only one dollar!! WOOHOO.

Have not stayed at an Embassy Suites in several years. Am extremely impressed with this one. Very large 2 room suite with coffee maker, refrig, and microwave. First room has office area, tv, couch (hideabed) with chairs and ottoman tables. Kitchenette/bar area. Bedroom has very comfy king size bed, sink area, and bathroom off of it. It is almost like a small apartment. Would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again. There is some noise from airplanes overhead, but that is  unavoidable for any hotel so close to the airport.

I stayed here recently on the night before and after a cruise. The rooms were as you would expect, clean and with all amenities. The drinks at the Managers reception were well poured, but the "food" consisted of popcorn and chex mix. The free breakfast was Ok, I was even able to get some crispy bacon. We had dinner in the restaurant and I had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time.
One of the TVs wasn't working on our second night and once Maintenance came and fixed it, they actually gave me 2 bags of microwave popcorn, bottled water and a free movie for my trouble.

Everything else was a different story.
Both times, checking in and out, it was impossible to get a luggage cart with a tip hungry bellman attached to it. Normally i don't mind tipping a few dollars of a couple of bags; but when I have 9 bags and 4 able bodies teenagers, I'd rather just borrow the equipment. Heading out to the cruise, we were with a couple of hundred other cruisers all trying to do the same thing at the same time. We literally had to hijack a pair of elevators just to get everything downstairs.
On our last morning we wanted to use the complimentary shuttle to take us to the amtrak station, but were told it was outside of the 3 mile service area. our cab driver measured it - 3.2 miles.
The last straw came when I was checking out and noticed a $25 Misc Revenue charge on the bill. It was for an early check in the day before. We got off of the ship quickly and got to the hotel @10:00am. I asked if they had any rooms ready yet, and was told we could check in. Nothing about an extra fee. I asked the desk agent and was told that it was a new fee and she was sorry I wasn't told about it.

Check your bill and bring cash and a lot of patience.

i love and have come to rely on the embassy suites chain. I already know what to expect and know the service, quality i will receive.

this location was no exception. It's not centrally located, but if you have a car it's not far from anything.

1-2 miles from the airport, and they also have constant shuttles to/from the airport.

i love the manager's reception with free alcoholic drinks/snacks. and the breakfast with the omelet station.

I always get my bang for my buck at Embassy suites.

the staff is amazing. and works to honor all early check-in requests.

    the lobby is nice.

only one restaurant, didn't eat there though. the room service is only based on this restaurant.

if you do rent a car or drive down in your own, the hotel offers GPS for rent.

The noise is our only complaint. And that it's surrounded by places such as "The Pink Pussycat" club.
Positives were the spacious suite with beds for each of my kids, and myself. After being on a cruise for a week, the bed was heavenly! Not so much the pillows, but the mattress? Aaahhhh.
One other slight issue was the parking, or lack of adequate, close, well-lit parking. I loved the space, the beds, the local restaurant delivery straight to the room, the spacious bathroom and great smelling products, refrigerator (I always appreciate a fridge for my diet cokes) and the friendly front desk personnel.

I use this hotel for business purposes and The Embassy knows how to take care of its professionals. Not sure if some of the other reviews are about the same place or if this hotel recently cleaned up its act. Literally. The hotel was very clean. The floor in one room was a little wet due to rain but they resolved the problem immediately, and it's Miami.  So what if a carpet gets a little wet. No hotel is perfect and things happen, and when they do, the Miami embassy is great about resolving matters quickly. This one is wonderful in regard to treating their guests right and making things happen.

This is great for an overnight layover in Miami.  We called when we landed and ended up with a free ride, a spacious, clean room and a warm breakfast for under $100!

The shuttle is pretty efficient and the drivers are nice.  It can take more than 30 minutes for pick up.  Do yourself a favor and walk to the beginning of shuttle pick up for Terminal D.  This is their first stop and if the shuttle fills up you will have to wait.  We (just 2 of us) were at the end of terminal D and were told they were full and we would have to wait.  We had been waiting 40 minutes.  I got a little snotty and 2 seats magically opened up.  Next time I'll avoid this by going to the beginning.

The breakfast was fine, nothing super special.

We will definitely stay here again!

The embassy suites website offers for a slight amount more, receive and upgrade.  Dont pay extra for upgrade, there isnt any.  Check out is noon whichis nice.  The sign says Starbucks - but there is not a starbucks in the hotel.  They serve starbucks at the restaturant which doesn't open until 11:00.

This is probably one of the better Embassy suites when it comes to the evening reception and food.

BE CAUTIOUS - the rooms are not well insulated... I heard the planes sounding all night long.  We got no sleep.

you canNOT walk from the airport to this hotel.  They do offer free shuttle service.  A Taxi ride can be either $11 - $13 plus tip.

I stayed at this Embassy Suite the night before a cruise out of the Miami Port.
First, this is not a quiet hotel, which was great for my group since we wanted to get the party started!
They have a Manager's Reception where guests can have as many liquor cocktails and draft beers (Bud Lite or Heineken) as they'd like between 5:30-7:00. I had two margaritas and a Heineken. Beware, it is a really popular feature, so there WILL be a line. BUT IT IS FREE, so calm down and wait the whole 2 minutes for your free cocktail!
There were 4 folks in my party so we booked a suite. I ended up sleeping on the couch bed, which wasn't too bad as far as couch beds go. TV was kind of small and wasn't a flat screen, but this is an airport hotel, so what do you expect?
Free breakfast is nice, but don't pay attention to the hotel's "Busy hours" schedule. We went down at 8, which seems pretty early, and it was SLAMMED. We waited in line for about 10 minutes, and I am not a pretty person without my first coffee. Luckily, the breakfast was actually really tasty. They even offered biscuits with gravy and grits. I am southern, so I was sold!
Overall, this was a great deal for the price. Definitely not romantic or scenic, but a great place to stay if you are just stopping in for one night.

Nice rooms but very old fashioned and out of date hotel overall. All I have to say is BED BUGS!!! Found several of them too& they didn't wanna comp anything besides parking or a damn movie. Not even a discount! Tried to cancel and get a different hotel but everything else was booked. NOT WHERE I WOULD WANT TO SPEND MY MONEY AT. Staying at a place where I could've gotten eatin alive by bugs.. NO THANKS! Wouldn't of given any stars if I could -3!!

I haven't stayed in embassy suites for awhile so I tried it out tonight since this is only an overnight stay. When I saw the shuttle at the airport, I had a feeling that I should've followed my guts to book double tree or crowne plaza where we normally stay here in MIA.  I was right. 4:25 am & I am writing this review because I can't stand the smell. It's probably the carpet.  But whatever it is, is was bad enough to wake me up, give me aheadache, & trigger my allergies. This hotel looks so worn out. Paint peeling in the room. A crack/whole in the bathroom, the couch seemed to be there for decades. The decor/style was old as well.

I usually stay in hotels that were renovated in the last couple of years. But I thought, With a $10 difference compared to double tree & the same star rating, this shouldn't be bad. It was a big mistake.

The so-called balcony was dirty. The pool area was dirty as well. Dirty Towels were hanging on chairs everywhere, & populated with dirty tables. The coffee maker seems like it hasn't been used for awhile. The only "recent things" I see are the TVs & counter tops.

Can't really do much since I have my 4-yr old daughter with me.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I am not trying to trash this hotel. But being a director of marketing for a Caribbean resort, I know when hotels need to be updated to make it marketable & keep your guests coming back. I would definitely not stay or recommend this hotel or stay in embassy suites unless it's a new one.

We recently stayed for New Year's from the 26th to the 2nd and it was really good. Service was great, housekeeping was very attentive, but best of all was the complimentary breakfast. It saved us a lot of money! It was served everyday from 6am to 9am and later times during weekends. One could order omelettes to order. They had plenty of stuff to choose in comparison to a stereotypical continental breakfast. The only thing that kind of bothered me about the hotel was that you had to go out of your way to get internet access. The front desk has codes that keep you from paying but they just don't hand them out. You have to ask for it otherwise they won't just offer them. The hotel was really good overall! Will definitely stay there again next time.

I always stay at Embassy Suites when I can. This hotel in particular is located near the MIA airport. You will hear the planes take off and land. Self-parking is $16.00. On busy nights, it will be hard looking for parking. You may need to be creative in finding free space. (Park on grass)  The rooms are standard and nothing different than other Embassy Suites. The door to the bathroom is located inside the bedroom. The gym is located on the first floor. Make a right from reception desk and go down the hall pass the business center. You will need to walk through the gym to get to the pool. Remember to bring your room key to gain access to the gym or the pool.  I would stay again if possible in the future.

We rented a small banquet room for our holiday party last weekend.  Have been to this location several times.  The decor has soft orange colors, many green plants with a large open courtyard area with tables and chairs, a few small bars, and a restaurant.

We had a buffet filled with salads, salmon, chicken, vegetables, potatoes and deserts. In the corner we had a small bar set up and in the middle a DJ in front of the dance floor.  All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.  We had about 60 people come .  The food was actually better than expected. It was all flavored nicely, no complaints.

The hotel had suggested our DJ and he was very good. He played different types of music to satisfy all, he kept it fresh and the dance floor was filled all night long.  This was a great place to have a party, good easy location,  $5 parking, good food, friendly staff, and at a very reasonable price.

The price alone was a huge plus because no other hotel even came close for the amount of food and time frame.  We had the room for 4 hours, we had plenty food left over and bottom line everyone loved it. Good times.

I only wish they would update the main lobby and courtyard. It's nice but  not modern at all or fresh.some updating and it would be the bomb.

So, this place is a wee bit tricky to find, but once you get there it's pretty awesome. Staff is friendly, breakfast is great, and the decor is gorgeous. The only real complaint is parking, which is about $16/night. Freddie and the rest of the front desk staff are awesome. I'm there frequently for work and they always take care of me. If you need something be strategic when going to the desk, seeing how they get a lot of traffic at this particular location.

    Pros and cons:
    1. Ok rooms: outdated style it's an older building
    2. Ok food: not healthy choices such as whole grain or turkey bacon/sausage. But overall you pay for what u get. TIP: breakfast is over at 930 on the dot. We missed it one morning :(
    3. Good shuttle: great staff, helpful and convenient
    4. Great staff: very helpful, courteous and nice
    5. Complimentary happy hour: AWESOME enough said!
    6. Disappointed and frustrated with LA ROSA restaurant: horrible food, very over priced and slow. TIP: if you do decided to go with the shuttle ride make sure the restaurant calls your shuttle... I guess they forgot and I waited outside for 30 mins or more.
    Overall ok stay.

Funky colorful decor breathes life into this Miami Embassy Suites property near the Miami airport. With koi ponds, a restaurant, and a heated pool, this property steps it up. This is closer to a regular full feature hotel than the business-centric Embassys that I've been accustomed to staying in, and I'm digging it!

Shuttle rides to the airport are every 30 minutes on the hour. They also can arrange through the concierge free rides to nearby restaurants and businesses.

Easy to think of as an old fashioned place. It is a place that tries to look good but all the little things are not too great. Rooms seem clean but the decor seems dated. The rest of the hotel is kinda rundown. It's easy to think of the hotel in a post apocalyptic setting. The managers reception is nice. Free well drinks and wine complete with snacks.

Pay attention to your GPS when arriving - if you miss your turn there are no uturns and left turns. Miami is awful with traffic and this is a good location just a lot of one way and no uturns.

The beds were comfy as usual, and the free breakfast great.

The hotel was a bit loud (ok, I should have maybe expected that being near the airport), but the internet was awful. Almost non existent really.

The staff was super friendly and helpful.

The service at this hotel is very slow!  We have been waiting over two hours for our room.

The staff seems to think we should be happy to sit on their cafe all day.

Avoid this hotel!  There are better options in Miami.

Avoid this hotel. With so many others near Miami airport, find another one.  The "hot" breakfast was cold, workers served food with no gloves.  Hotel in desperate need of upgrade. Worst part was airport shuttle.  Called concierge at 9:40pm to pick my family up. Was told that van runs every 30 minutes on the 1/2 hour but he would send the van now, at 9:40. The hotel is 5 minutes away so it should've been there by 9:50 latest. When it wasn't there at 10, I called the concierge back and he did not pick up. I tried four times with no success.  It didn't show up until 10:15. Terrible service.

As a Hilton Honors member I gave this location a try, as it was at someone else's expense. This was the worst experience I have ever had with any of the Hilton Family of Hotels.

This hotel attempted to "butter" us up with their free cocktails, and come sleep time I see why.

We were in room 908. This room is VERY LOUD. It's as if the elevator's mechanical room is directly over the room. EVERY TIME someone on the 10 floors would need the elevator we got to hear it.

Horrible nights sleep, and when we asked if we could change rooms, we were told the hotel was all booked up.

Many teenagers were using the fitness area as their hideout from mom & dad w/no hotel staff ever coming in to run them out of there as they were using the equipment to play around on, and not use. As I began to begin a workout in their fitness room, I went and made a complaint to the front desk about the teenagers using it as a hangout. Not once during the 45 minutes that I was using the fitness room, did anyone from the hotel ever come in, to even look into my complaint.

The hotel has a pool as well as a hot tub, but don't expect to get some quality "adult" time at the pool or the hot tub as it was consistently filled with kids, even at 1130pm in the evening.

There was a complimentary hot breakfast with omelets and eggs made to order. Just be aware that you want to get there about 630 so you can get your food and eat in peace. Otherwise prepare to have kids running around like they are at a circus, putting their fingers all over the pastries, only to be told "NO PUT THAT BACK" by their parents.

Now if you are reading this and think, "man this guy doesn't like kids" it's no where near that at all. I was on this trip with my son who is 11 at the time of this trip, and I'm just writing about the facts of my experience that made this a bad experience for me to never stay at this hotel again.

FYI, this Hotel is not in a particular "good neighborhood" either.

Pretty nice as all of the Embassy Suites are.  Some of the common areas are a bit old, but have absolutely no need to be updated.

The sheets were nice, bed comfortable, desk and seating area nice, and hey... what's that - A walk out balcony?!  Cool!

The bathroom was pretty nice in general, but the shower walls and shower head did have some defects (cracks / weird spray pattern from deposits).

The FREE breakfast looks as good or better than the other Embassy Suites I've stayed at, but we were too short on time to try it this trip.  I did score a perfectly ripened delicious banana on the way through though.

We were on a shuttle, but watch out for the easily curb-able parking exit if you have a nice/large car.  The curb looked less friendly than my local bank.

Minus 1 star because of the hour wait at the airport with a large group of other people who were wondering when the shuttle would show up.  When one of us called they were told it would be there within 15 minutes (thats how long it took) since it runs every 15 minutes.  Not exactly how I wanted to end my 18.5 hours in airports/planes.

Management here does not care about the customer. After calling twice and going down to the hotel front desk they still didn't stop the kids who were running around knocking on everyone's doors. They knocked on my door 6 times between 9-11 and hotel management assured it would stop but it never did. Unfortunately aside from that it's a noisy hotel in general. I would stay here if I was trying to get sleep. I would only stay here if I didn't care about the service given to me.

I stayed at this hotel in Jan 2014 pre-cruise overnight. The rooms are spacious and there outdated but clean. I wanted to give his hotel a higher rating but too much negative happen for me not too. We arrived early, but we wasn't able to check in. So we went for a walk and found a restaurant to have lunch. They stated they was going to call us when a room was ready. They never called us, we had to go back to the front desk and get checked in. The let us leave our luggage until it was time to check in. When we asked for our luggage they told us to leave it and the bellman would bring it up. They never did we had to go back down and get it ourselves. They had the manager reception and we enjoy the drinks and snacks. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you within a 3 mile radius of the hotel  which is nice. We took advantage of that service.

The hotel was very cold, everybody was walking around in there jackets and sweater. There was no heat in the room and we were so cold. We called the front desk they were supposed to send up a space heater which they never did. They was going to send up a maintenance man they never did. We finally asked for extra blankets and they did send that up. We did enjoy the breakfast in the morning.

I'm not sure if I would stay at this hotel again. There is nothing in that location. You need a rental car or take a taxi.

I give this hotel four out of five stars mainly because of the flight pattern of the airplanes coming into Miami airport.

Hotel itself:  it is fairly clean, some trash outside in the landscaping but overall the hotel is clean. The atrium, outdoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, Gym and bar/restaurant Are to be what is expected.

Hotel room:  it is a spacious room, most of the Decour is modern and new. The TVs are flat screens in both rooms, and plenty of amenities.

Staff:  the front desk is friendly and accommodating, I had a specific request that they fulfill very quickly. They are there to help you if you want to and out-of-the-way if you don't need them.

Location:  if you are visiting and staying nearby the airport for a reason, this place is perfect. They have an airport shuttle, so you don't need to Rent-A-Car. That is saying that you don't need anything outside the hotel. But I will say you have to go to Walmart, grocery store, or want to go out to eat, it can be a little bit confusing. The area is not what I would consider nice.

Bottom line, if you want a good Embassy suites that is close to the airport we don't really need to go anywhere else except for the reason why you flew in. This place is it. But if you want a place where you can walk outside the hotel and walked down the street to a restaurant, this is not the place.

Staying one night, room was ready for us early, had to wait a bit bc a group in front of us checking in, but rep apologize for wait and we had no worries from that point forward. we are Hilton honors members on our way to caribbean. Cocktail reception in eve was great, we had a problem with remote control not working but front desk sent someone right up and fixed the problem they even left us a gift bag filled with goodies for the inconvenience. Service here is top notch! Through out the eve we would see staff cleaning keeping everything nice for guests. Kudos to staff. This embassy is close to Miami airport and they have a comp shuttle which runs every 30 minutes, curb side level 2, stand anywhere at curb side and when you see white van with big green E painted on side wave ur hand and they'll pull over. .easy, enjoy!

Definitely THE place to stay not only for an early morning flight from the airport,
but even if you want to spend a few days in a hotel that is indeed MODERATELY
priced and has THE BEST POOL I have ever swum in.  You do have to contend with
the  kids, but if you're there in the EARLY morning, laps can be done!! And
the happy hour and free breakfast are both good perks.  You don't need
a car these days, you can just call LYFT (as I did, assuming you have the AP)
and a ride into Miami is inexpensive-and well worth not driving yourself.
The people at the hotel are very friendly and I found the atmosphere to
be friendly; I was there on my own and had many opportunities to talk to
all sorts of people-the place seems to be a mecca for those about to
leave on a cruise, so the mood is festive and I really was delighted to
see how easy it is to navigate the hotel, summon a LYFT and have a
very good visit.  I particularly liked a very charming woman named
Nileycis, who served the pancakes every morning; she was an expert
at fliipping them onto the plate and her demeanor and manner were
so pleasant--outstanding really.  On the days she manned the bacon
stand, she was very generous and I thought that this woman jus t 'had it.'
Hope to stay there again and soon.  Don't forget there is a free airport
shuttle (please tip the driver-they are not overpaid)and I never had
a problem with the noise from planes flying overhead.  And the Microwave
and fridge in the rooms is just a superb addition.  Amazed really at
    the bargain .

We stayed here a few years ago and I doubt I'll be back. I've stayed at several Embassy Suites in the past but this is the worst. We picked this hotel because of brand and the distance to the docks. Shuttle Service was a joke and Front Desk was slow and rude. During the night we found out that our AC broke making it extremely hot. We called the front desk and they said they couldn't change us to another room at that time but the next day they can move us to another room, since we were leaving on a cruise the next day this solution was useless. Upon our departure no one was at the front desk for like 30 mins? The line was long and growing. When someone finally arrived he said they were short staffed. They had their holiday party the night before and a lot of staff did not show up for work.  We will not be back to this hotel.

We stayed here to get to the cruise ship. The hotel over all is just 3 stars
as for luxury measures (furnitures, linens, decors, room conditions)
But we were accommodated by the nice staff ley us checked in early (4- hours early)
    That was a huge plus.
Nothing to complain, we had the best night of sleep here.
Free Continental Breakfast, free wifi if you are an AT&T iphone user.
    so 5-stars all the way.
Also, they have car rental on site.
Cheap! $50 for the day. Its a lot cheaper than getting Taxi around town.
Glad we came across this option.

    Why the parking hassle?

We stayed at this hotel while our Miami house was being fumigated.  We checked in early and easily before check-in time which was a positive experience.  For $7 we upgraded to free wifi and free parking which was also positive.

The rooms, however, appear to have some wear to them, and are 'out-dated' even to the most passive of observers.

The staff was friendly and attentive and went out of their way to help.  The problem came with parking.  A barricade keeps you from freely entering and exiting, a headache to anyone who is a registered guest at the hotel.  When we would try to leave, we would have to pass a guy with a chek-list who requested our room number and last name and checked to make sure we were staying in the hotel.  All was well until the last day of our stay when we checked out at 11 am and was told we couldn't exit the parking lot because our name was not on the parking list. Excuse me? My dad argued with the check-out parking- lot guy as about 10 cars piled up behind us.  The guy then went inside to consult with another attendant about their incomplete list.

The are this hotel in set in, though no- fault of the hotel, is a complete headache and mess. I live in Miami and found it confusing to navigate and hassle-bound.

I'd give this 3.5 stars if possible, because some of the items I disliked were out of the staffs control, but they were concerning none of the less.

I haven't actually stayed here, as I live in Fort Lauderdale, but I have parked here on two occasions when flying out of Miami airport.
Parking here is about 1/3rd of the parking rate of Miami airport, so it's definitely the way to go if you're looking to save money. Make sure you pre book parking online.

On my recent parking adventure here (at 6am) the shuttle was going to take a little longer than expected (23minutes) so Gio (one of the bellhops) made sure to hook us up with bottled water and even went as far as to get us free breakfast from the hotel atrium - donuts and coffee. It was definitely a nice touch and you could tell he really cared.

One the return trip, waiting for the shuttle seemed to take forever, but it was only about 10 minutes.  It's definitely annoying to wait when all you want to do is get home from your trip, but considering the savings - we'll definitely be parking here again!

For the very short period of time we were at this hotel - I have to give it three stars. It seems a bit run down, not in a good part of town - not much around it, but the taxi driver was certainly nice!

The place seems very large and most likely it might be better then 1 stars, but we didn't have much time to look around. Our room was spacious and clean and included everything we needed. However, I wasn't happy about the internet fee - normally it's included for me and for some reason this one didn't include it and I had no time to argue out!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night after returning from our cruise.  We had rented a car to go visit friends and wanted to be close to the airport since we had an early flight the next day.  The location was perfect for that purpose--it took us about 5 minutes total to drive from the hotel to the airport and return the car.

Like all embassy suites, the hotel offered a free happy hour and free breakfast.  The happy hour was nice but we were unable to take advantage of breakfast because we would have risked missing our flight.  I wish they started breakfast earlier on Sundays like they do during the week.

In terms of decor, this hotel has a beautiful atrium, but the rooms do not match.  They are dimly lit and out-dated.  However, they are quite large. Our room also had a beautiful view of the city. Overall, this hotel has some room for improvement but I enjoyed my night here and appreciated the proximity to the airport.  I would definitely stay here again, especially if I had an early flight out of MIA.

Stayed here before an early morning flight out of MIA. The free happy hour and complementary breakfast are a huge perk over most other airport area hotels. The pool area is nice, and the rooms are large.

If you're just staying the night before/between flights, this place is perfect. If you are staying for an extended period of time and expect to eat, shop, walk, do ANYTHING outside of the hotel -- choose a place on LeJeune Road south of the airport.

Actual airport shuttle was a little disappointing. Standing out the airport you watch hotel chains pull up with brand new freshly painted mini-buses. Then the Embassy Suites rolls around with a 15-passenger van on the last leg of it's life.

Overall, the actual hotel provides the best experience in it's price range near the airport.

Manager booked this room for us because it seemed like the best deal in the area. We were here on a business trip, staying 4 nights. The first night we arrived, you could hear airplanes flying over the hotel, as many as 10 before I fell asleep. The room was spacious, it has a separate living room/dining room. The amenities were all there, the room comes with 3 sinks and a fridge! I think this place is great for families and if you're staying more than just a couple nights.

Early morning they serve complimentary breakfast. It's not the greatest quality,  but not all hotels serve complimentary breakfast.  They have potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, premade pancakes,  and cooked to order omelets. I didn't get to the omelets because there's 1 station for the entire hotel. Breakfast hours are from 7:30 to 10 am on weekends, and you know everyone is just going to get up last minute, run down and get something to eat before they brush their teeth.

This hotel is old,  but it has some character.

I would recommend it to those who aren't too picky about where they stay and what they eat.

We only stayed here for one night and did not have a car, so this may not be the most thorough review - but as a quick summary:

    - Clean hotel with a lovely lobby full of plants, a koi pond, and birds
    - Friendly and helpful staff; concierge was quick to answer any of our questions and assist with recommendations in the area
    - Free airport shuttle every half hour
    - Only about 7 minutes from the airport
    - Spacious rooms - we had a king suite and it is perfect for an extended stay, although some may argue the furniture is slightly outdated.
    - Fitness center, hot tub, and outdoor pool are all very nice
    - Affordable - we got a great deal on Expedia! Our deal also came with the Manager's Reception, which is an open bar + snacks from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
    - Business Center looked nice, free wi-fi and printing in the lobby area

    - Yes, you can hear the planes from your room and especially in the pool - after all, the hotel is right next to the airport. However, it wasn't loud enough to disturb me at all and I am usually a light sleeper
    - Bartender at the Manager's Reception was a little rude. It was clear she didn't really want to be there and was condescending when asking for IDs.

Overall, this is a decent hotel that would be best suited for a pre/post-cruise stay if you're looking for an easy transfer to/from the airport. It is approximately 20 minutes from the port ($35 for a taxi in moderate traffic).

Poorly managed. This is supposed to be a nice hotel, right?

Many rooms seem to be way too many people per room, and the hotel management isn't seeming to do much about it. Pool and jacuzzi overrun with kids and people I'm not sure are actually even staying here.  Extremely loud at 2 a.m. and the hotel management isn't doing much to stop it as I type this at 3 a.m.

Haven't had this kind of experience at a hotel in a long time and we will NEVER be coming back here.

Additional weirdness: gift shop lady did not understand English and also could not read the price tag on the item I purchased. When I corrected her she got her purse, opened it, but then opened the cash drawer and gave me $1. I also paid tax on that extra dollar but at that point I was just weirded out and wanted to leave.

Update: It's 3:52 and next door is singing happy birthday. I can't believe it. Never staying here again.

There is a line out the door...23 people and two representatives.  Unbelievable and to think this is apart of the Hilton brand I'm so disappointed. Update: now that I've been assigned a room I am even more upset because my room included a balcony and I got a view with a balcony and a door that doesn't open.  Furthermore you can't sit on it you can just look at it.  Seriously!  How can you market that a room has a balcony and you can't even sit on it?

This hotel is Dirty, it smells like smoke everywhere! When we checked in we were not asked what preference of room we cared for. They gave my husband and I two full beds, on our anniversary trip, and then refused to change it when asked. The front desk people need better customer service skills. The shuttle attendant was very rude. We asked to be serviced to a restaurant 3.2 miles from the hotel and he told us we just needed to call a cab or order pizza! The front desk personnel agreed with the shuttle driver and handed us a pizza brochure! These are not the standards we were expecting from a 4 star hotel.

This is the worst Embassy Suites I've ever stayed at. We stayed for one night before our cryise was leaving. They claim to have a shuttle service that goes within a 3 mile radius, but when we called it was never working. That was disappointing as we planned to get water before going on the cruise ship.

Our room was on the top floor and when we arrived, was so loud from the elevator motors above, that we called to switch rooms. They were sold out and didn't have anywhere else to put us. We then turned on the tv and most of the channels didn't work. They sent someone to fix, and did.

To their credit, they ended up offering to  refund hilton honors points for the night.

    The restaurant staff was nice

    The front desk is clueless
    The rooms are very dated
The carpets look old and dirty
    The television didn't work
The restaurant is highly overpriced ($15 for a club sandwich)
They charge $16/day for parking and valet is $18/day
The hotel is noisy (airplanes, trains, loud guests running through the halls)
They double billed me for parking
    The food isn't good
They give you a wifi code that you need to pay for, but it's horrible and they block your cell data so you are forced to pay for and use their crappy wifi

Wouldn't stay here again if they paid me to.
