So every other hotel in Miami was about 400+ a night!  Ugh!  Even on a business budget that one is kinda hard to explain.  Decided to stay here in Coconut Grove.  It was where I-95 ends...I never thought I would ever see the end, who knew!  Anyway, the hotel has def gone through some recent renovations and it is kinda nice for a Hampton Inn.  I wasn't expecting much b/c the Hampton Inns where I live in the Northeast are usually awful.  But I was greeted warmly, changed my room preference, and had directions to south beach all in a few minutes.  No hassle!  My room had a huge flat screen tv, sweet!  I was all about the hi-def!  Nice!~  They called to make sure everything was ok a few minutes after I got up there.  That was a nice touch.  Honestly, it was a great hotel, close to where I needed to be for work, and close enough to South Beach for me to have fun.  If I ever get to go to Miami for fun, I'm staying here!

Great location and terrific hotel. Rooms every bit as comfortable as hotels more than double the price. Incredible beds and they've just redone the bathrooms - granite-topped vanity, walk-in, glass walled shower and the mirror is heat-backed so it doesn't fog up during a hot shower. Throw in the free parking and free breakfast and it truly can't be beat.

Horrible experience.  Air conditioner not working.  Multiple requests to fix to no avail. Staff spoke about us in Spanish in front of us not realizing that we understood them.  When I asked for the 100% satisfaction guarantee, manager stood with arms folded across chest glaring at us in extremely intimidating manner.

I wish I could I give this place 0 stars.  I was appalled by their customer service! We had booked a room with them 6 months ago when rates were low ($120 a night).  We flew in from LA last Wednesday 12/07, and, having traveled all day, we were exhausted and looking forward to our stay here.  So I called them to let them know we were on our way, and they said the reservation doesn't exist! How can it not exist when we got several confirmation emails (one when we paid 6 months ago and one to remind us several days before we left)?  They said they were all booked! So obviously they give their booked rooms to someone else who probably said they could give them more $$$! I cannot say how appalled I am with this place!  It's not right to put someone out on the street and there should be some penalty or consequence for this kind of treatment.  I mean, if you or I book a hotel and cancel/don't show, we are still charged a certain % or charged for the night.  Likewise, shouldn't hotels be responsible for a person's welfare and take responsibility for their negligence?  In all my years of traveling - and trust me, I've stayed at about a hundred different hotels in my lifetime - this has never happened!  I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here unless you want to find yourself homeless in a city you've never been before!  Buyer beware!!!!

I absolutely loved my stay here for the weekend!

Great value in comparison to all the other hotels I've looked at. Central location to almost any place you'd want to visit - about 15 minutes. Complimentary hot breakfast - bagels, waffles, eggs, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. Even breakfast bags to go!

Free parking (alot of hotels charge or have limited spaces) and free wifi.

Exceptional customer service, comfortable bed and pillows. Microwave and refrigerator for your convenience.

And most importantly, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!

Was in Miami for a wedding at the Biltmore Hotel and needed a place to stay that wasn't going to break the budget.  For $150 a night, we got an awesome deal:

1. Great bathroom - very roomy with a great big counter (and one underneath for extra storage.  They were also very generous with towels, replacing with a fresh set every day.

2. Free parking - I was shocked not to have to pay $30 a night.  It's also protected by a security gate (accessible by guests with a door card) at night, so you don't have to be worried about your rental car disappearing.

3. Proximity to Miami - It's a hop, skip and a jump to Miami/South Beach, maybe a 10 - 15 minute drive from the hotel.  It's also about 30 minutes to Ft. Lauderdale airport.  If you want to stay on the beach though, I would not recommend this place, as it's probably a hefty taxi ride, and traffic in Miami is nasty.

4. Free breakfast - it's not amazing, but it's pretty good, and a great value.  On Mondays through Fridays, they even have breakfast bags that you can take with you.  The make it yourself belgian waffles are yummy and they have an assortment of yogurt, fresh fruit, boxed cereals, bagels, bread, english muffins.  There is bacon, an egg version (scrambled, omelets) that changes from day to day, and homefries (which were soggy and gross).  Hot coffee is around the corner, and there is a juice machine that is great.

The TV in the room is egh, but there is a floor to ceiling mirror.  The pillows were horrible (down pillows, but they wouldnt keep their shape), but in general, I absolutely would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel, very quiet.  I slept well the week I was here.  It looks like the hotel was renovated recently, and the place looks pretty nice overall.  The rooms are spacious, they have a microwave and refrigerator for convenience.

The free breakfast is better than most I've had elsewhere while travelling for business.  They had varieties of eggs, vegetarian, even two waffle makers!  Good stuff.  The staff is friendlly, helpful and eager to please.  

Check out was easy too - overall, a great place to stay while you're in Miami!

Nice clean accommodations
Complimentary Breakfast bar is the best I've encountered with cinnamon and shaved almonds to sprinkle on your oatmeal.  Fresh oranges and grapefruit peeled and sectioned into a fruit salad is available.  The scrambled eggs were also unique with cheese sprinkled in.  

Great value for your money!

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The hotel is clean, and well kept. They clean up the room each morning and the room smells refreshed when we returned from our day out. Haven't had any problems during our 7 night stay. The staff always smile when we exit the elevator and some even say a greeting. Breakfast is free, and buffet style. They even have on the go breakfast bags if your in a hurry. We parked in the bottom garage, the car stays cool, all you need is to swipe your room key for entry. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel! My fiancée and I stayed here while in Miami for a wedding and we would definitely stay here again! The hotel is very clean, located in a nice area that's close to many things to do, and it was relatively cheap. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic and they have coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24/7. Their parking lots are also key controlled, so it's a very safe place to stay as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again if I'm in Miami.

Generally speaking, the company that I work for seeks out Marriott-owned brands of hotels because the assignments can be lengthy from time to time. This was my first time staying at any Hampton Inn, so I cannot compare it to any previous stays at a Hampton.

The location in Coconut Grove, Miami is fine. As you will quickly learn, having a vehicle is useless in Miami with constant gridlock of traffic. The property consists of a six-story building with interior hallways. The rooms are functional and just about right for a week stay. Anything longer and you would be going stir crazy. My room was clean and had a very comfortable king bed. The other appointments included a flat screen TV, compact refrigerator, and microwave-oven. The bathroom had a frameless glass shower with a rainfall shower head which was unexpected and very nice. Free parking, free Wifi, free ice, and free breakfast. There is a Manager reception during one of the weeknights that includes free beer and wine, snacks, plus a band. The breakfast eating area is not large and the band was way too loud for the amount of space in my opinion. I did not use the pool but it did look inviting. Check-in/out was easy.

The only short comings that I saw were that the towels/washcloths in my room were way past their prime (threadbare and hard as a rock.) Housekeeping seemed to replace them with towels of similar condition, so there was maybe one towel out of the fifteen that were changed out that were actually fluffy and soft. The breakfast buffet is OK at best. The food is very generic and institutional tasting, but the price is right. I would rate it at a C grade, as compared to a Residents Inn (Marriott) breakfast buffet as a B-. Not too much difference, but enough to make you consider skipping it a couple of days. Next, parking. Whatever you do during the winter season, park your car before 5:00 PM if you want a space. The property has key-secured underground parking too which helps.. The spaces are tight, so scope out an area if you're driving some a larger vehicle. If you are driving a compact car, it is a big help with maneuvering around the parking lot area.

The property is not far from the baseball park and within walking distance of Flanagan's and Berries in the Grove restaurants. There are also some fast food places nearby too. For my budget, Flanagan's worked well and is only a 10-minute walk.

The nightly rate on this property during early March, 2014 was $154/night + an insane $20/night in taxes for a total of about $175/night all-in. Not a bargain, but compared to the next level up in hotels in which you could easily add another $100+/night to that $175 figure. If you are from out of town on business, you will have 90% of what you want for a price that is less than most other places.

They are doing a lot to improve the amenities and appearance of this hotel. The main dining/breakfast area is being completely refurbished, the rooms have newer exhaust fans in the bathrooms and the parking garage is being revamped somehow.

The first level of the parking was closed  while we stayed here but the lower level is gate access only and very secure. When it was full late in the evening they gave us a sticker to put in our dashboard and we were able to park for free in a lot just down the street that was patroled by a hired security guard.

The rooms are clean and typical of a Hampton Inn with a microwave and fairly large refrigerator. The air conditioning unit worked very well in the room we were in.

The workout room needs a little bit of work itself. The incline does not work on the treadmill, and the manual function does not work on the elliptical. There are only one each of those and then one recumbent bicycle and a small area for weights. They do have a yoga mat for stretching and a small area for that. The entire room is maybe 10 x 20' at most.

We never ate the breakfast, but it looked very Hampton Inn typical. The coffee in the hallway however was fresher than most Hampton inns where we have stayed.

The pool is not large but appeared to be clean, the hot tub was not hot - as can be expected for a warm climate soaking tub.

The location of this hotel is quite good one block off of Dixie Highway - US 1 and fairly close to downtown, Coconut Grove and the airport.

We would definitely return.

This is really a 3.5 stars rounded up. We stayed over Labor Day Weekend.

- Front desk service was very nice and friendly, which I really appreciated.

- Breakfast was okay by Hampton Standards, not great. They struggled to keep things stocked on a few days, but weren't grossly understocked. Often crowded, which is probably not their fault. But then we saw local police officers eating breakfast there. Had they stayed there (if so, why)? Was the hotel inviting their presence for security reasons? It seemed odd... which leads to...

- Security concern. We regularly woke up to two or three "pizza" or "cuban" restaurant menu flyers under our door. Which means someone who was not a hotel guest or employee was roaming the halls at night. Possibly more than one someone. For a hotel that makes you swipe a card to get into the parking garage it seems a little odd.

- The hot tub (one aspect of the trip I was really looking forward to) was broken for the first couple of days of our trip. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had repaired it on the weekend! Still kind of a bummer it was broken for awhile though.

- Room was nice and clean, I had hoped for a bathtub but hadn't been promised one so having a stall shower was fine. View was actually pretty nice for the top floor.

- Free parking!

Overall, I would stay here again but might look for a nicer place if I had a little more cash to spend.
