Very nice hotel, right on Ocean Blvd. across from the beach and all the great shopping on Collins and Washington (I will get to you soon, Miami Ink!) and a plethora of restaurants.  It was surprisingly quiet, probably because we were there in the off-season, when the heat is oppressive.  To stay here, I think you have to be a member of their program or of this thing called RCI.  Don't ask me.  Apparently, we got it on loan or something from one of my mom's friends, or something like that.

We got a one bedroom suite, and it was a very good size, with a really nice bathroom.  However, pieces of ceiling were falling down into the tub close to our check-out date.  The suite had a small kitchen with a dishwasher, which I very much appreciated, and a TV with a DVD player as well as a CD player.  Kudos on the AC abilities!!!  On the 4th floor, there is a fitness room, a roof deck with great views and a jacuzzi, but why anyone would get in a jacuzzi in that kind of heat is beyond me.

The guys downstairs were not only good looking, but very helpful with restaurant recommendations and things.   There is no business center, so no computers, although there is Wi-Fi in all rooms, in case you like toting around your laptop.  The desk guys happily googled stuff for us and printed out maps, free of charge.  They also had a pretty good library of DVD's to watch in case you are like me, uninterested in the vapid nightlife choices (or with family and unable to be vapid even if I wanted to).  However, there is a guard perpetually on his cell at the desk after about 11pm or so, so when we needed to get the batteries in the TV remote (which seemed to be leaking acid) changed, we were out of luck until the next morning, as he couldn't even do that.  Our refrigerator was not refrigerating properly upon our arrival, which sucked because we bought all sorts of food and drink, and there was no maintenance guy around, so we had to wait for that a day too.  They finally changed the whole fridge two days into our stay and carefully placed all our food in the machine.  Note: stay away from the mini-bar and snacks unless you are rolling in it.  Just buy your own eats.

Watch the ants.  Don't leave food out on the table or you will wake up to a colony carrying crumbs off to their leader.  Apparently, this is a Miami thing, not a hotel thing.

Oh, and they have valet parking, but better to park in the municipal garage on 13th between Ocean and Collins.  You will save $4 a night, and that'll help with the considerable service charges the restaurants tack onto your bill.

I can honestly say that i was impressed with this property. The Suite was very nice and the bathroom was incredible. I love that the mini bar was a kitchen. The hotel also has a washer and dryer available for free use, Awesome! All the furniture was comfortable and there is free wifi available. The hotel has two building and one lobby is unmanned, but the staff is always available.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite overlooking the beach & ocean. Beautiful views and the room was specious and modern.
The hotel is on Ocean Blvd..lots of places to eat and so close to the beach. The staff was very nice and helpful.
The only complaint I have is the fire alarms kept going off.
Once in the middle of the night..3am and the next one during the day.
They really could not explain why they were going off.  Parking was expensive $35 a day.
All in all, my family and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

We had a tough time finding a place in South Beach for my brother's wedding that was kid friendly.  The Hilton fit the bill.  The room was big enough for the 4 of us, and the location was great.  Even though there was no restaurant or pool, the were plenty of places to eat nearby (including room service) and we were across the street from the beach.  The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they always had a piece of candy ready for the kids when they came through the lobby.  If we go to Miami again, we'll definitely try to stay here again given its location and price.  It's a great value.

This was our second stay at the HGVS in South Beach and it was just as amazing as the first. The accommodations, facilities and staff including Alex and the rest of the front desk staff should be commended on their impeccable care for guests and the services they provide. We were a group of six guys, from NY staying in the two-bedroom suites. Most employees would have viewed us as partiers and trouble makers but not at the HGVS. We were treated with the up most respect, just as any other guest. Thank you to all of them for making our vacation memorable. We'll be back again soon.

I was very happy with my stay at the ocean plaza hotel.  The rooms could use some renovation but they are very clean. They also have free Wi-Fi, full kitchens with dishwashers, pull out sofa beds, free washing machines for guests to use, it's across the street from the beach, and the hotel is on ocean drive. It doesn't get much better than that!

Great location on the "quieter" side of of Ocean (it's all relevant right?) much smaller than the usual Hilton timeshares, but it is a historic building.  Across the street through the park you reach the ocean,,,so not exactly beachfront but close.

When you got to get away from the South Beach Miami action for a little piece and quiet this is the spot!

The Art Deco inspired 1-bedroom Suite offers 1 queen bed and a full sofa sleeper , enjoy the convenience of a well-equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and utensils. Inside the refrigerator you'll find various mini-bar items that are refreshed daily (charges apply). The 1-bedroom Suite bathroom has a shower/tub combo . Flat-screen TVs, a DVD player and high-speed wireless Internet are available.

You're you a 15 minute hop skip and jump from all the night life main attractions and there are place to eat all along Ocean Drive from 17th to 5th you will find your fill and if not there walk along Lincoln or Washington you'll find something and if you don't fill like eating out ordering you got a kitchen and a bar!

I only stayed here one night but it was a perfect wind down from a busy weekend...

First of all, thanks to my friend's dad for giving us free lodging here at hilton grand vacations!!

This place reminded me of scenes from Dexter. NEON LIGHTS!!!
Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a sweetheart of a place. Everyone that works there deserves a raise and half. They are just so incredibly amazingingly attentive and kind. The people of an establishment makes the establishment.

The suite comes with one bedroom and one living room with a stocked kitchen. The bathroom is a bit on the small side, especially if you have GIRLS (plural) getting ready at the same time. The living room comes with a pull out bed, flat screen TV and DVD player (you can rent movies from the front desk!) There is also a flat screen TV in the bedroom also.

Overall, it was a lovely place.

stayed here for a bachelorette party. we got a 2 BR suite and a pull out sofa with pretty much a full kitchen which we did use to make breakfast and heat up food late night. very nice inside, and the service was really great. the bell hop guy was there the whole time and was a total sweet heart. one complaint - we left our pizza out for about 30 mins after everyone was done eating, and when we opened the box there was a cockroach in it. please get that fixed. otherwise, really great establishment and close to the beach and close to all the action.

Lovely art deco small property, excellently located for who wants to be at the very heart of where the action is in SoBe!  Steps away from the beach (but don't go to the beach at night if you don't wanna get mugged).

Orlando Hernández is the best!!!  A true professional who's very well informed and knows how to run a hotel!

There are a gazillion restaurants in the area and places with live music.  Parking is an issue in the area, but the hotel has valet!  Yay!  If you rent a car, though, be sure to park in non-residential areas, and to pay the meter at the meter machine (credit cards OK).  :-)

The rooms are little suites!  Eeeeeverything you may ever need you'll have.  Like a home!  The housekeeping staff is also very accommodating.

I agree with everything that was said by everyone else below. The hotel doesn't look like much from outside, but it's a very nice hotel and very nice rooms.

The staff is good to but one person in particular is great! I believe his name was ALEC or ALEX. He was awesome. He went above and beyond the call of duty everyday to make sure we were comfortable. I love great customer service!

This is as good as it gets on Ocean Drive in South Beach. After having previously stayed at a crappy, old Art Deco hotel on this very street, the HGVC was a breath of fresh air. My cousin and I shared a large one-bedroom suite. It had a sofa bed in the living room, a large bathroom, stocked kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and a hot tub on the roof deck. Not to mention it's across the street from the beach, on the other side of some great shopping on Collins, down the street from some good eateries and a short cab ride away from the clubs. My only complaint is the parking price but that's how it is everywhere in SB.

We had a single king in the Ocean Plaza building, and felt the rooms were very spacious. Large living room with sofa and armchairs, bar chairs, bar/kitchen area with a working microwave/oven, fridge, dishwasher. This would be a great room to have with a family, especially if you want to prepare small/quick meals in the room. Clean and reasonably spacious bathroom with great soap/lotion product (peter rothman, you can buy this at sephora). I didn't notice anything grody or dirty in the rooms. My only gripe was that I wished there were double layer curtain - one sheer and one opaque, so people from the pool can't see directly into the rooms.

There's a no frills swimming pool on the ground floor, a small but clean gym on the fourth floor along with a hot tub. Extra bathrooms are located on the 4th floor. The prices of the rooms were on par with the prices of nearby hotels. Again, this is a great place if you are bringing a family due to the location and the amenities offered (large living room, two TVs, fully functional kitchen).

Free DVDs to borrow during your stay (ask for their DVD list, which comes with ratings). Ask front desk for beach towels to use when you go to the beach.

Great location, right on Ocean Drive on south beach. There's a starbucks, haagen datz and other quick eats right across the street, and more stuff within the same block. About 2 blocks from Espanola Way, 3-4 blocks from Lincoln Road shops. The beach is right across the street and extends all the way down Ocean Drive, and you can do your art deco walk from the hotel. La Sandwicherie is a block away on 14th. Dive bars Lost Weekend and Kill Your Idol are two blocks away, same with Cameo. This is a great place in that it's not in the middle of the crowd, but it is just a short walk to all the shenanigans in south beach.

Nice people, from the doorman to the people behind the desk who can give you extra towels, shampoo, and help you with your trip planning.

Avoid Hilton Grand Vacations Suites in Florida and across the country, you will send your entire stay fedning off their used car salesman tachics.  This is a scumy company that will never leave you alone until they have ripped you off.

Our group of girls of 8 was out to Miami for a Bachelorette trip.  I had arranged for 2 suites for 4 nights.  Check in was at 4:00 pm, but we had taken a red eye flight and got in quite early around 7 am.  We got to the hotel around 8 am and Vanessa our front desk/concierge said our rooms were available and it was next to each other.  We were so happy!  It was a great start to our trip.

From there on out, we continued to have great service from the friendly staff.  Our suites were spacious enough.  The pictures on their website do not do them justice.  The furniture's actually are not outdated as in the pictures.  The bathroom products were from Thomas Roth's..so they were really nice.  There was no view of course, but we were right across from the beach!  The location of the hotel was perfect!  It was quiet on Ocean Drive.  If we wanted the action, we could just walk further down on Ocean Drive.  All of us were able to sleep..so helpful after all 3 nights of partying!  They have a jacuzzi/lounge area on the rooftop of McAlpin and a fitness center at Ocean Plaza.

The taxi driver's were always confused of our hotel names, McAlpin and Ocean Plaza ..so you should just tell them the street number.  They do not go by the Hilton since there is another Hilton on Ocean Drive called the Hilton Bentley.  If you wanted recommendations to anywhere, Vanessa is definitely your go to person.  We wanted authentic Cuban food and she recommended Puerto Sagua Restaurant.  The food was delicious!  We did not use the elevator much at all.  The elevator is small and very slow.  We were on the 2nd floor so we used the stairs, so much faster!

Overall all, this hotel has everything that you would need for a great girl's trip!

I loved my stay here.  It's been a few years but I don't think you ever forget where you stayed during your honeymoon. Even if this place was a 1 star I was in marital bliss so it would have been 5 stars anyway.  The Hilton Grand Vacations suite is far from a 1 star. I give them a well deserved 5 , I love the art deco vibe of south beach an this hotel plays right into the classic style.  From the moment you walk into the lobby (we stayed in the McAlpine side)  you are transported into a time gone by. From the cool lobby couches to the small boutique elevator Hilton covered every detail.  Once in our room it was far from art deco. The decor is modern comfortable and spacious. Our room came with a kitchen and living room as well as large soaking tub.

The Valet was the best! one guy loved my husband and I he really looked out for us. short story; my husband and I were driving down Collins trying to get to Ocean drive were the hotel is located. Well Ocean drive was blocked off due to a police incident. We called the valet from our car they ran to where we were took our car parked it for us and we walked back to the hotel. Now if that isn't 5 star service I don't know what is.  Where we stayed on Ocean is called "The Front Porch" reason being, the few hotels on the 1400 block have very comfortable outdoor patios where you can recline and people watch. I definitely prefer that over restaurant and store front hotels, it's so quite and still just a few steps from all the action. Overall our experience here was memorable. I appreciate the staff for making our honeymoon so pleasent.

Booked through RCI as a trade for my timeshare. Surprised I was able to snag this place. Great location. Lots to do. Rented car but did not need to. $35 a day plus tips for valet. Hardly used the car. Would not bother if we stayed there again.

We just had the best time in South Beach staying at the Hilton Ocean Plaza. The location is simply perfect. Directly across the street is the beach, down Ocean Drive there is an abundance of night life, and the biggest highlight for me was the Starbucks about 10 yards away. The rooms have everything you need; large bathroom, comfortable bed, sofa, tv and efficiency kitchen with table. The staff was extremely friendly and professional.

Were are considering ownership in Hilton's Vacation Club our stay was that awesome. Highly recommend it. We will be back.

Huge bonus - the Hilton is a smoke free building! Meaning no smoking anywhere, including the outdoor front porch.
