One point not yet made in recent reviews is that this "downtown" hotel isn't really all that close to the heart of Miami downtown.  The dining options in the near vicinity of the Hilton weren't all that numerous - and the construction on Biscayne Avenue has things a bit 'ripped up' right now. So not the best option if you want to walk and explore Miami.  I arrived late (11:15 pm) and was upgraded to a junior suite, as well.  While that was very nice, I always ask for a quiet room (it was a big party weekend in Miami with the Ultra Music Festival).  Surprisingly, the staffer at check-in said she really didn't know where the suite she was assigning me was in the hotel (much less it's relationship to the concert).  I did end up facing the concert - but sort of enjoyed the view of the light show!  Bottom line - OK for business (you do have to PAY for wireless internet) - but not a hotel for fun or comfort.

Just got back home from a week at this Hilton property that they acquired from Radisson as indicated on elevator inspection certificates. TOTAL CRAP!!!  Construction begins at 8 a.m. 7 days a week, including drilling into the sides of the building and sandblasting ... the construction workers sweep and shovel concrete dust without use of masks so there's labor code violation but that's another story ... using caustic paint stripper to remove stain from walls near elevator bank so you get a huffer's head buzz while waiting, forever, for the elevator.  Pool closed for almost the entire week due to, and i quote the desk staff, "debris falling from the construction" then it opens one afternoon without announcement or fanfare only to be closed for a private function affiliated with some kind of cruise ship's poker tournament. location sucks though is a perfect experience of Miami as another skanky poverty-ridden violent drug-addled American city wrapped thinly in a veneer of television glamour.

My home base for Phish's 4-night run at AA Arena in downtown Miami. This, alone, was worth a star in and of it's own right. Walkable to the arena or take the free Metromover from Omni Station. Another plus was the dirt cheap $85 AAA rate we booked for 2 queen beds on the 15th floor, overlooking Biscayne Bay for the first 3 nights. Even New Year's Eve was relatively cheap for this location ($160 through AAA).  Rooms are decently furnished, in some need of renovation or sprucing up, but I've seen worse.  HHonors Gold/Platinum members should get upgraded to an upper floor, get free Wi-Fi, and access to the Executive Lounge on the 16th floor which includes continental breakfast and happy hour. Neither the free brekkie or happy hour was anything to write home about, but it was free. One thing that irks me is the lack of recycling throughout the hotel lobby, rooms, or lounge. Maybe that's an indictment for the city of Miami as a whole?  I'd stay here again if I needed to be in the downtown Miami area, especially with the fantastic rate.

Nice location in downtown but should be nicer once all the city construction is finished. Only a few minute drive to the beach and shopping areas. The rooms are a little small but the staff was very friendly and helpful. $28 a day for parking seemed very excessive for someone who is paying for a room at the hotel.

My husband and I were on a red eye from LA to Miami.  We decided to see if we could check into our room and were told that we could.  However, when we went to the room, someone was in the shower!  Not a good start to our vacation.  But I must say that Rodney at the front desk bent over backwards to rectify the situation.  We ended up with free breakfast the entire length of our stay and access to the club level to relax while waiting on our room.  The food for the buffet was ok -- not much variety but I can't complain to much -- it was free.  I know I wouldn't pay for the buffet.  We also were able to get a room with a nice view of the bay.  I do have to say the worst part of the stay was the construction on the road in front of the hotel and the parking.  The construction made us enter the valet parking area from the exit side and some guy (not sure if he was a security guard) tried to get an attitude...you could clearly see that you couldn't enter the garage through the enter side.  And then parking was ridiculous!!!  $28 for valet and $25 for self-parking.  The room rate was good so I guess they have to make up money by charging ridiculous prices for parking.  The room itself was fine - typical Hilton hotel in my opinion.  Overall, I probably would stay here again.

I booked a room at the Hilton and then I read all the reviews and I was petrified of staying there.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and must say it was a decent experience.

The hotel lobby is located on the 8th floor of the building.  The hotel is actually connected to an entire row of buildings that will open in 2009 as the Omni.  The Omni has a college university on the corner, will offer over retail space and office buildings.  To get to the lobby, you must enter through the "motor lobby" which is basically the parking garage. ($20 per night for hotel guests -- brings the rating down).  Only two of the three elevators were working while they were under construction.  Once you hit the hotel lobby, you are by the front desk.  Around the corner are several seating areas, the restaurant, and the bar.  The outside patio is a rooftop terrace in which the pool is located.  You can see great views of the city from the rooftop.  Around the corner from the motor lobby elevators are five elevators that will take guests to their floors.  Only three of the five were working.

The rooms were spacious and the views of Downtown Miami and the beach were breathtaking, however during the day there was construction and several wires were hanging down from the roof top obstructing our view.

i think this hotel would be a nice place once they finish all the reconstruction.

Fully agree with John R. - his assessment is spot-on. This used to be a Radisson, and even when they owned this property it wasn't very nice.

Elevators not working, huge portions of the facility under construction for an eternity, dust and debris everywhere, and staff that seem disinterested in making your stay bearable despite the obvious disaster ground they're staffing.

Given the disappointing common areas, I hadn't hoped for a quality room. I wasn't disappointed, and this is where my review differs from John's. While the room was fine and at least wasn't covered with dust and other crap like everything else there, the bathroom was dated and in dire need of some cleaning. Ick.

In Miami, there are tons of places to stay. This is not one that should be on your short list.

You cannot beat the Hilton Downtown for great accommodations! the service, the food, and my room with a spectacular view was awesome! I stayed here at the Hilton In  January for a week for school and it was my first time back to Miami since 1987 when I lived there for a few years! The hotel was then an Omni and it is so much of an improvement, even after 20 years! Stay at this Hilton and you won't be sorry!

Great hotel, nice clean rooms. Buffet was amazing. I gave it 3 stars because their service wasn't the best.  Housekeeping never came up when we requested something. Valet attendants and bell hops were rude when we asked them questions. Hotel great, service needs improvement!

Stayed here a whole week.  While the rooms were fine (we had a corner; floor to ceiling windows) the dining was sub par.  The highs were salmon salads poolside while being waited on by Carlos, the most professional dude in the building.  The lows were everything else: Scrambled eggs at breakfast were made from a mix; dinner inside one night took 40 minutes to arrive in a mostly empty restaurant.  The food, ranging from a tomato/cheese tart to conch fritters, was all too sweet.  The ceviche was tough, like it'd been sitting around in the fridge for a couple days.  I got a different version of the same drink several times.  One of the bartenders (didn't get his name) was outright surly to us on three different nights which would have been ok if he poured decent drinks.  He did not.  Another cranky waiter/bartender at poolside summarily booted a bunch of people who showed up with their own food.  Fool didn't take into account all the missed drink tips he would've made not to mention his quashing their good time.  Wonder if he's read his job description.

Decent internet speeds in the rooms and lobby.

Housekeeping routinely forgot to stock new/clean towels and bathmats in our room after making the bed.  I never once heard or saw a vacuum cleaner and while I appreciated the relative quietness as a result the notion of a vacuum-free hotel is a little scary.

    Disturbingly loud A/C.

2 Stars for a quick check-in, decent LOOKING room, and being close to the port of Miami, but that is where the pros end.

The cons have been covered in previous reviews and I naively overlooked them in favor of the pros stated above.  If we had stayed here more than one night I would have lost it.  Waiting in a slow moving line to use the 3 elevators.....really?  Our air conditioner sounded like our own personal jackhammer being used in our room, I assumed it would turn off once it cooled down.  I was wrong.

If you need to stay in the area, steer clear of this place.  It looks good from the outside, but the inside just isn't worth it.

Luckily for me the construction at this point is only on the exterior of the building. Since I was working during the day I was out of the hotel for the hours that the construction crew was working and wasn't bothered by anything. The staff was attentive. The service was all up to snuff. Most importantly there was a heated pool.

The interiors and the rooms have been renovated and were clean. It was cheaper than the crumbling art deco hotels at south beach and did I mention they had a pool?

My experience was nothing like the descriptions from other posts.

This Hilton is kind of dumpy. I was there for a conference so I didn't get to choose where I stayed... and thankfully didn't pay for it either. The exterior of the building looks really cheap (as I understand it used to be a Radisson... no wonder), and the rooms really aren't that great either. Just very plain... nothing fancy at all, and my room had suspicious stains on the carpet. That would all be okay if the rates were cheap too, but they're charging completely outrageous amounts. I was lucky to have a special rate (~$170), but they regular rates are out this world considering how plain this hotel is (~$250 and up for the basic room, according to their website). Not to mention the ten bucks a day for the internet connection, which was completely sucky (very very very slow).

Seriously... I've stayed at nicer Best Western or La Quinta locations for almost half the price. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, and there are plenty of other options just a few blocks away.

Best part was the pool with a pool side bar. View was great too. But room was average for the price we paid I was expecting a presidential suite.  Nothing of the sort. bathroom was tiny.  Staff was friendly and helpful. Food from room service was costly but tasty. All in all I wouldn't stay again, but I will say it is a beautiful hotel.

You would think at the Hilton you would at least get complimentary wifi. Nope, $10 for a mere twenty four hours. Breakfast is not very good and also not included. Parking is between 20-30 depending on if you do self park or valet. Basically there's nothing they don't charge for. Small detail but the television remote gets pretty annoying in how slowly and ineffectively it operates. Customer service isn't bad but not anything special either. Pool overlooked the city... sort of... but wasn't anything special. Drinks were overpriced and pretty sure apple juice has a higher alcohol content. In its defense rooms were clean and a/c worked well. Pretty sure that's not much of an achievement though.

We stayed at the Hilton Miami Downtown before our cruise. I had fairly low expectations based on some of the reviews here, which we saw after we had booked the room. Our rate included the room, breakfast and transfer to the cruise port for $160. Upon our arrival, we found the room we had been given was already occupied and there were individuals in the bed! Not good, and not sure why that occurred.

After we were given another room, the stay was rather nice. We were provided a spacious corner room with nice views of Biscayne Bay and the city. The bed was the usual Hilton bed; very comfortable. The A/C was fairly loud, but nothing that would keep me from sleeping. The TV was a 27" set, not a great set but we weren't going to watch a whole lot of TV.

We had the Hilton breakfast (buffet-style) which was a nice treat. After stuffing ourselves, we proceeded to our cruise terminal. All in all, it was a very good rate for the included items. I'd stay there again, I wouldn't call it a 4-star hotel, but it was a good value.

Not a bad place overall.  Valets and bell boys were a little overzealous downstairs, they were really working for their tips... This place has a little unusual setup with the lobby being at the 3rd floor. I arrived together with a colleague and we were promptly checked-in through the Hilton Honors counter I was granted an upgrade to the executive floor (I have gold status) and so was my colleague as a courtesy - we didn't even have to ask!  I ended up with a nice corner room with huge glass walls and a panoramic view of downtown Miami not bad!  The room overall was alright, no major complain.  Down the hall was the executive lounge which offered some refreshments, a poor choice of hors-d'œuvre and absolutely no happy hours!!! WHAT??
Anyway, for a Hilton in Downtown Miami, this place lacked a little ambiance and didn't offer many restaurant choices...  It fell kinda short, but did the job as a short stay business hotel.

First of all parking.  Seems like parking in Miami is a premium.  Every where you go in Miami and South Beach you pay for parking and it was no different for this hotel.  I knew South Beach hotels we had to valet our car but little did I know, parking cost us $28 dollars per day excluding tips for the valet guys at this place.   If you want to self park, it is $25.00 US.

Our room is less than spectacular, typical average accomodations, we were very surprised being it was a Hilton Hotel in Miami.  Our room faced Biscayne Bay and it was probably the only good thing we have to say for about this place.

If you want to go down and walk around and look for places to eat, there is only a Jack in the Box across the street otherwise drive somewhere else to eat.

There is continental breakfast served here but you have to pay for it, $10.00 per person.  Not much food selections at this price but you can get more value if you go to their hotel restaurant  albeit you will be spending more about $15.00 US and above.  Better just go down to South Beach at Ocean drive, all of the restaurants down there have breakfast for less than $5.00 US and that area serves breakfast late from 6am to 1pm, that's right 1 PM.  People party down there till 5am daily.

So overall Hilton okay, but you can find better accommodations somewhere else, like South Beach, cheaper valet and better services and cleaner hotels, like the Blue Moon on Collins Avenue.  For anyone reading this review, stay away a nd find something better.  It's OVER RATED!!!!!

For people who prefer to stay near Miami beach without paying high rates, this 4 star hotel is worth to be considered. We stayed for July 4th weekend and our rate was under 100 dollar.

If you drive to Miami, you have two choices for parking. Slef-parking is 25 dollar per day. If you take your car out, you need to pay by hour which is around 6 dollar. Self-parking is clearly marked at the entrance. Just follow the sign and drive to 7th floor where hotel ball room locates. Then take the elevator to lobby. It is little confusing but there are signs lead you to the elevator. Or, you do the valet parking which is 28 dollar per day plus tips. You can take your car out any time. The motor-lobby is at the entrance, just leave the car to hotel staff and you take elevator to lobby to check in.

Room is clean with good view and reasonable good size. The air condition is noisy but you can turn it off. There is no refrigerator, only coffee maker. WiFi available at your room and cost 9 dollar/day if you are not Hilton Honor member. Very comfortable bed. Staff at reception are helpful and efficient. We didn't try their lobby bar and coffee shop since we found a great local diner nearby (S & S Diner, yelp.com/biz/s-and-s-din… ), but they look nice and popular though. The hotel location is a bit tricky. Although it is closer to Miami beach and surrounding by other brand hotel, still it is not I call friendly neighborhood area. I didn't know until one of their security guard stopped us before we reach the back entrance of the hotel for a walk. He spend 5 minutes with us to give us a detailed route to avoid rough area that is couple blocks away. He was very kind. We followed his advice and locate bus stop to take us to South beach, which is very convenience. If you like taking bus, try this route. Take bus 120 and get off at Lincoln road. Fare is 2 dollar. On the way back to hotel, take Bus S cross the street of where you get off and it has stop at hotel. Bus schedule is 15 minutes during weekdays and 30 minutes weekends.

Lincoln road locates at Art Deco historical area. The whole street full of shops and restaurant. And beach is just blocks away. You can also walk to Espaniola way, which is 3 blocks south to Lincoln road. It is a locals gathering spot. Great bar and restaurants. We had a delightful lunch at a small french bistro that I will write a separate review on it.

If you are not sure about bus, just take a taxi. Usually, it is between 14 to 19 dollar per way from Hotel to Lincoln road depends on traffic conditions. Also, Metromover locates at the same place where bus stops are. You can take it to check out downtown area.

It is a very good hotel except it is closer to few not-so-friendly spots where homeless folks hangout. So don't walk alone if you are not familiar with the area. Locals seems less concerned in the day time. Most people won't bother you but caution is needed if you are from out of town. Folks from big city should know how to handle such environment.

For a Hilton, this place really lacked the luxurious atmosphere. Yes, there was a OK pool and cool lounge bar ($4 pina coladas FTW) but overall, the rooms were boring and the hotel itself is small.

The only good thing about this hotel is its convenient location.

We got a great deal on this hotel from Hotwire.  It is in a great downtown location.  The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly.  The lobby is very nice.  The pool has a great view, yet is lacking a hot tub.  It was pricey for parking but I am sure this is the case with most of the hotels in downtown.  The only thing that really irritated us was that there is a club that is in the same building and you can hear the bass upstairs.  I believe we were on the 17th floor and we heard it all the way up there and the staff could not help us with this problem. Otherwise, this is a nice place to stay and we were happy here.

This an older hotel that could use a new facelift soon. I stayed on the 17th floor with a bayview.  The view was spectacular.  The furniture has seen better days, the bathroom is also older vintage.  The room had an odor like most older hotels tend to have.  Not bad, but didn't make you think of fresh.  The pool looked nice with a good view.  The gym equipment consisted of your usual bike, treadmill, eliptical, and an all in one machine.  The free weights went up to 50 lbs with one bench.  The equipment looked fairly old but would definately suffice if you are traveling.  The personnel were all very friendly.  The breakfast buffet was very good.  The valet was very helpful, but it will cost you $28 per night.

My first stay at Hilton Miami was great!  Being a gold HHonors member, we got access to their executive lounge.  Great that we could get bottles of water, coffee and tea.  What was great was the breakfast!  Delicious scrambled eggs, toast, danishes, cold cereals, fruit and coffee.

Room was pretty good.  Bed was comfy.  We had a beautiful view of the Biscayne Bay and the port.  We could see the Key West Island and a view of the downtown buildings including the Adrienne Arsht Centre.

We have been staying at this Hilton for several years. As a matter of fact, Hilton is my preferred hotel chain. In the past, we had issues with slow service in the restaurant & bar, and the problem in the bar still exists (We didn't even attempt to eat in the restaurant this stay).  When we asked the server why they weren't properly staffed since we are a huge group that always spends time in the bar, the server told us that they know they are going to be busy but won't put extra staff on.  However, this stay we had issues with housekeeping.  Upon our arrival, we drank the decaf coffee in the room & called housekeeping to ask if they would replenish the coffee, sugar & cream so that we had some in the morning.  We then called back a few minutes later to request a sewing kit.  After 4 hours, my husband went down to the concierge to get it himself.  No apologies, no explanation.  Then on our final morning, as I was getting into the shower, I noticed that there was only 1 bath towel.  My husband called immediately & asked for another bath towel to be delivered & mentioned that we were leaving the room by 6 am (called about 5:15).  Housekeeping arrived about 10 minutes later with 4 wash cloths.  Really?  It was too late at this point to get a bath towel (my husband was already in the shower), so he dried himself with washcloths.  Please let me be clear that we did not use any towels the night before....they left us with 1 bath towel for the morning.  This hotel is charging $259/night for a room & they can't provide bath towels for both guests in the room.  Extremely disappointing.

I would like to make it clear, I did not dislike my stay at this Hilton. Now that I have made that disclaimer, this is the worst Hilton I have ever stayed at.

I got a great price for a room with a King Bed with good a view ($100 after taxes) and for another $45 dollars I upgraded to the Suite once I arrived! Needless to say I was pretty excited. When I got to the room it was huge but very outdated. The only word to explain this room is "dingy".

Once I was settled in we went down to the bar near the check in desk. The bartender seemed to be absolutely miserable and was actually kind of mean. This of course affected the service, which should be put in the same category as molasses. After getting my drink I paid my tab and got out of there.

The bed was comfortable, nice size TVs in both parts of the room, and nice bathroom amenities. I also ordered room service twice and it was pretty quick. The food was also a lot better than I expected.

This was definitely better than you average hotel chain but not up to par with the Hilton that I know.

The rooms are generous in size and we had a great view from the 15th floor. IMPORTANT ------ parking overnight is an addtional $28 to your bill.

If you're in the area for 4th of July, go up to the 21st floor and just out of the elevator, you have the full view of the Miami harbor fireworks.

Location is quite central though rather industrial. There's some fast food near by and a sandwich shop called The Daily Creative Food Co. that has good food options within walking distance.

I got a response from Laurence R of the Hilton Miami Downtown at 1:29pm today in regards to my previous review, stating:

""It is with great disappointment that we read the comments you have shared regarding your stay with us. The safety and security of our guests is always one of our top priorities and with that, we maintain a team of 24-hour, trained security personnel for the well-being of all of our guests. Please know that the matter of your missing items is continuing to be investigated through the report in which was filed while you were here. We offer our deepest apologies that it was not able to be resolved to your satisfaction during your stay. If you should have any other questions or concerns while we are working on this, please feel free to contact our Security Manager directly. Thank you."

I tried to reply, but due to a bug of some sort, I was not able to. I now see they deleted their response.

Laurence R, or whoever is reading this, please read my reply:

I would hope that your #1 priority is making your guests feel at home and safe which is why I was so shocked at how the hotel staff responded to this situation. Not one person offered an apology.

I am concerned by the lack of security cameras in the hallways of this hotel and the obvious flaw in your locks. I've looked up articles on how to get into a hotel room without a trace; and was shocked at how easy it is. I know these unfortunate incidents happen occasionally but it would be really appreciated if these security measures can be addressed so future guests do not have to endure what we went through, especially given the track record of missing items at this hotel. I understand there are innkeeper laws for every state to protect the hotels from being liable for anything lost or stolen which makes me feel uneasy as things can easily go missing without a trace and there is nothing a guest can do,

I truly hope that this will be thoroughly investigated.

I decided to go to Jam @ the MAM here in downtown and I knew that I would be drinking so I decided to be responsible and get a room so I could enjoy the drink and be safe.

I checked in and entered my room on the 20th floor.  Nice view of the bay.  Nice room, not too big yet big enough to enjoy.  Nice, comfy bed.  I could easily get into bed and never get out of it!!

The internet is free for HHonors members (so sign up).  Its next to the metromover so its easy to get around downtown.  There was a nice, heated pool, front desk staff were great (especially Frank), and everything has been neat and clean.

The rate was under $100 so that is a big plus too.  Only for a night but I would certainly return anytime!

Recently stayed for a conference.  Overall, I had a good experience.  The staff was helpful and the rooms were pretty comfortable.  My only gripes were that the ac in my room could never get below 72 (I like to have the room really cold when I sleep), and they double charge you for every device that logs in to the wireless.  My colleagues and I all had work laptops and personal laptops and regardless of the same room being used on the sign in page, you get double charged.  The staff at the front desk removed the double charges but I think it's kind of shady that this happens in the first place and you have to ask to have it reversed.

I was traveling for business so the beach wasn't my priority (although I wish it was!). Right off of Biscayne Blvd, it was easy to jump on and off 95 to get where I needed to go. The hotel has valet parking ($28/night) and self parking garage ($25/night). I didn't have a chance to eat at the restaurant but the cafe had a small but good menu. They had a pool deck area and great views of the bay. I would definitely stay here again.

Spent 6 days here for a conference and workshop. Overall really happy with the place. Would honestly give 3.5 but 3 is a bit low.

Location is decent- fairly close to real downtown, very close to bus and train terminal for south beach etc. But not much in walking range.

Conference setup is typical but decent.

Wifi struggles at times, nerd heavy conferences will be rough.

Food: seriously excellent snapper, bomb key lime pie. Again conference food just ok though, damn those $16 DOJ muffins

Rooms a are good, big tvs, comfy beds, nice setup.

Staff were real helpful and friendly, no faults there.

Some fun decor and some oldish. Overall really happy with our stay, apart from one crappy bathroom light switch that took all your body weight to activate...

Came to Miami to see a friend and manged to snag a deal at this hotel for $78/night. What wasn't noted however, is that parking is $28/day for valet parking (with in and out privileges), or, if you prefer to park your own car its $6/hour with a $35 cap but with no in and out privileges. The valet's were very pushy and rude on our visit and did not set a good impression when we arrived at the hotel. Checking in was easy enough after taking the elevator up two floors from street level and the front desk staff were nice. We got to our room on the 12th floor and it was as I expected, a standard king room with working AC and a bathroom, nothing too glamorous. What made the room however, were the floor to ceiling windows with city views, absolutely breathtaking. Wi-Fi unfortunately costs $10 per computer per 24 hour period, but it is free in the lobby (extremely slow albeit).

All in all, for what I paid I got a good stay, can't beat Miami downtown for $78/night. However, add the costs of parking $28 and internet $10 and it came out to around $140 after taxes. Keep all of these extra fees in mind when booking here because you may not be able to get as great a deal.

I would recommend this hotel if you don't plan on being in the hotel for long, its a comfortable bedroom with a bathroom but beyond that you're kinda asking for too much.

Value your safety and security? If a breach in either occurs, do you expect a resolution or a response appropriate to the Hilton name? Expect a hotel to have security cameras? If you answered yes to any of the above, I would not recommend staying at this location. After an extraordinary circumstance in a recent stay at the hotel in which items were stolen during my sleep while in the room, the hotel responded in a matter not befitting the Hilton name. One would expect a response from a manager while still at the hotel. However, if you want any halfhearted response from the Hilton Miami Downtown, it is necessary to email them. At which time you will still get no response of any value.

In short, sleep with one eye open whilst at this hotel.

A-OK is kind of a stretch, but the rooms are fine.  The service is friendly, but so slow especially at the bar and restaurant - serious slow motion.  Rooms here can be had for cheap in advance and there is a Checkers and Burger King across the street for easy walking.

The hotel doesn't make much sense overall.  You have to go up in one set of elevators from the bottom to the lobby and then a whole separate set of elevators to go up to the rooms.  There is nothing flashy about the hotel and it is pretty ho-hum overall.

I have stayed here for one week, two years in a row, but not sure I would go for three.  The price is right though.

This hotel was likely hip and cool when Miami Vice was, but little has changed since then.  It's a bit threadbare and dated.  We started by getting a room with 2 double beds when we booked a king.  The front desk made no effort to correct the error, and we remained in the same room 3 nights.  The wifi was slow and probably put in by Don Johnson. The TV cut in and out.  In other words this is a Motel 6 at Hilton prices.  We did have desert one night at their deserted hotel restaurant .  I forget what forgettable desert we had.  We did go across the street to the Marriott to eat to avoid traffic into South Beach.  The place was called The Catch, and was really very good.  The hotel lobby looked new and clean. If you're in Miami, and have to stay downtown look up the Marriott and skip the Hilton.

The Hilton on Biscayne is always a good stay. It's clean, has a great lounge and bar, and the rooms are modern and large. The service is always excellent. It's been my experience they do anything they can to make sure you're comfortable and satisfied. The front desk called me within a few moments of getting to my room to ensure I was happy with my room. I simply inquired about a fridge and they sent one up at no charge. No question they take care of you.

The location is right downtown which is nice, and if you're not a coward like me you might not mind walking around downtown Miami alone at night.  Otherwise, you'll probably need your car to get anywhere. I do think the valet takes much too long, but otherwise no complaints!  I appreciate the customer service and the nice view of the Bay and city!

Not sure what Hilton is thinking with this hotel.  Staff was nice, but that is the only plus to this hotel.  The hotel is in such a need of a renovation to update the style as well as correct all the horribly broken and cheapness of it.  In our room, the bathroom door would not shut because it didn't fit in the door frame.  The door even had rot at the bottom of it.   The closet door wasn't even on hinges!  It was leaned up against the frame.  All i can advise anyone is to avoid this hotel if at all possible!  I would recommend a Comfort Inn or a Holiday Inn over this horrible property.

All I can say is GROSS! Coffee stains in mug, ice bucket still wet with no lining available, hair in tub along with god knows what the sticky film was when I stepped in, no hot water still, dust on bathroom counter from lack of wiping down all the area, towels hung up as if they where still left from previous guest.  Dirty finger prints and grime on doors,  along with trash can. Looks like this unit hasn't had a good wipe down in months.
Room was $359 per night, however they were offered to the guest checking in behind us for $199 walk in rate (barely even still a reasonable rate for this neglected room).
Only 2 towels for a double bed room.
I like to have a towel for my hair as well.   1600 watt blow dryer kind of sucked, but slightly better than the little ones attached to wall.
I don't like to complain when traveling as it kills the mood, plus it's a bummer when service is expected.
Sitting in the bathroom, I thought to myself this hotel is a sure sign of the end of middle class, if only their over priced rate was matching. Maybe the Hilton's are calling it quits on the industry. I was very surprised they  let this place get so run down.
I think many can agree, it's never fun to have to call the front desk to voice concerns, especially when you called already and asked for a fridge and explained the dirty coffee and ice bucket and they reply "we will see if we even still have a fridge available"  "thank you" and end call.   Okay so maybe they don't know English very well either, we are in Miami so I will give them that.
At this point I just want to put on my blinders and try to make the best of the rest of my stay here. At least the beds seemed pretty clean, but after seeing the rest of the room I felt the need to diva thorough inspection.
I'm eating my words by saying "Hilton's are always nice, I like them"
It's not just about a one time dirty room, there was trash in the hallways, no pool staff, and empty water cooler by pool.
Sorry, just too many negative things going on here to see this as a onetime
Incident and not the Hilton brand name as a whole.  Previous complaint about water was 5 months ago.
Just looks like a complete budget meltdown here.  Take the extra $$$ we gave you on this room and use it toward improving staff moral, as this is a sure sign that corners are being cut  inefficiently. This place is depressing me.

It's not the best Hilton I have stayed in.  The rooms are nice- clean and the staff is very good.  My biggest issues:
The parking- too many elevators banks to just park or Valet your car.

The Lobby is not on the ground floor
    No Executive lounge

Plus you need to drive/cab to eat at a better place too.

I would stay here again, but only for the hilton points.  I think I might try a different location if needed.

Convenient if you need a room the night before a cruise, plus an easy walk to Bayside Marketplace and other places downtown.  Hotel views from our room were just ok.  Rooms are decent, but navigating the hotel is tricky.  We had to switch elevators like stops at a metro-train station every time we left our room and/or returned.  Aside from a Burger King and Checkers across the street, there's little in terms of restaurants unless you want to walk a half mile or so.  Thus, be ready to pony up for high-priced Hilton breakfast if you plan on sticking around for a few days or more.

Happy to be in Miami after a long cold Chicago winter, this hotel was a big disappointment.  Time for a remodel,  it looks/feels shabby, especially for the price. Other than breakfast, food at the restaurant, bar and conference left a lot to be desired. As it was Spring Break, I expected the kids to be running rampant and they didn't disappoint, but what made a tolerable situation a lot less tolerable were two fire alarms. I was startled out of bed at about 12:45 am Sunday night with a broken announcement, flashing lights and buzzing alarm. Not knowing what to do, I jumped up, got dressed and walked 12 floors down a back stairway with a few others, only to find myself on the 8th level of the parking garage. After walking eight more floors down a dark, smelly, rusty staircase (alone), I stood on a dark and deserted street on the opposite side of the hotel at 1 am. When I finally made it back around to the main entrance, hotel staff very nonchalantly mentioned that it was a false alarm, somebody was smoking in their room! The second fire alarm occurred Tuesday evening during a business dinner. This time we didn't even bother evacuating and instead sent somebody to the front desk to inquire. Again, a false alarm. I got the idea this was a regular situation at this hotel. I won't be back if I can help it, even on somebody else's dime.

    Great experience at this Hilton.
For starters, our taxi driver took us to the wrong hotel -- to the Marriott that is a very LOOOOONG block away.
So we ended up walking here -- with all of our luggage!  We were so upset, we were venting our frustration at the situation, and Raquel at the front desk lent us a sympathetic ear.  Then she sent up two free bottles of water.  That was certainly a nice touch.
Our view from the 16th floor was great.  Floor to ceiling windows.  Alway something to see.  And the bed was super comfortable.  No complaints here!
We also received outstanding customer service from a young lady named Angelina in the lobby/bar area.  She was awesome.
My only complaint would be the business center -- while they did have many computers available, the room was extremely COLD and smelled of B.O.!  Also, the internet connection sometimes came and went.  Still, I was able to print several pages of material that I needed for work, and that was very helpful.
But overall, we had a wonderful experience at this Hilton.

I enjoyed staying at the Hilton Downtown Miami. It is very close to the freeway, South beach/Miami beach, and it is very close to the American Airlines Arena (Miami Heat) and the Marlins Park. The hotel looks a little  old from the outside but it is actually a nice hotel. The staff are always very friendly as well. (The only problem is that most of them are not very fluent in English so it may feel like your are in another hotel outside of the US).

The thing that I like most about this hotel is that the tv has an HDMI outlet, so using an HDMI cable I can connect my Mac to the TV and stream Netflix and watch movies for free!

However I did not rate this hotel 5 stars because of its location. There is not much to eat nearby except for a Burger King place down the street, so if you are hungry after coming to the hotel after 11pm (23:00) there will be no room service and the café/bar closes at 11pm as well. Also, the wifi is a little slow which I am not used to because I am blessed with fast wifi at my house.

I can't speak to the guest rooms, but we held our typical phalanx of board meetings here over the weekend, and I can't say it's the most inspiring place to have a meeting. Meetings are dreary enough, but when you combine that with dungeon-like meeting facilities, the time you spend listening to self-important people talk seems to drag on and on even more.

The meeting room area *is* very large. That's to its credit....but just because it's a big area doesn't mean it isn't cavernous. Plus, it has kind of an outdated early 80s, really generic appearance. As I said, not inspiring.

We are in Miami, in freakin' February. Can't some hotel set up its meeting area so as to take advantage of our natural climate? How about a meeting room with a view of the bay...or a view of ANYTHING? Or how about not burying the rooms just below the lobby (adding to the cavernous feel).

Oh, and the breakfast was garbage. Good thing I stopped at Starbucks beforehand. Croissants and crappy pastries. There was a fruit platter, which I wanted to partake in, but the staff didn't bring enough plates, and they were nowhere to be found. So, I wanted fruit, but I couldn't have any. Boooooooooooooooooo.......

Meetings suck, any way you slice them, but I'm just looking for some of these hotels to dull the pain with at least a little ambience.

Two dirty, dried washcloths hanging on shower curtain rod. Iron outer casing cracked, resulting in water all over garment. Toilet flapper valve leaked so much water the tank refilled itself every couple of minutes. I had to turn the water to the toilet tank off at the wall valve. If the room had a luggage rack it was missing which causes the guest (me) to put suitcase on the bed. Very unsanitary. The TV reception quality was so bad it was nearly impossible to watch a baseball game. Finally, on the way to dinner I went to the front desk to ask for a comment card because there wasn't one in the room, the man behind the desk said he didn't have any out front but maybe he could find one in the back. He disappeared through a door and never came back out, at least not for three or four minutes. I left, but stopped back at the front desk after dinner to ask for a manager to call me. The night manager called my room about twenty minutes later and who should it be but the very man who had left me hanging at the front desk. His excuse was he couldn't find a comment card or even a piece of paper for me to write my concerns. Ridiculous. Hilton has a card (no spot for comments) in the room which states, "If you're not satisfied with your stay let us know and we'll MAKE IT RIGHT" (their emphasis). Yet the manager couldn't find a comment card or even a piece of paper!!

The location of this place is more of the industrial area and some parts and lively while others are run down. Maybe in a few years more hotels and shops will be opened. Being in the industrial location cell phone service for T-Mobile is horrible, a lot of times I lacked service.

The hotel itself is quite nice. The lobby is spacious and check-in/out was fairly easy. The 2 double queen room we had was spacious and clean. I give them only 3 stars because the pillows were horrible and the beds are not as comfortable as people make it out to be. I've definitely enjoyed more comfortable beds at other Hiltons and the pillows were so low I had to sleep on 2 of them.

Our rooms were always cleaned and re-stocked, so no complaints. We had a nice view of the bay, but I don't think it's worth the extra money.

It's about a 10 minute drive to south beach and if you're hungry at night there's a Checkers and Burger King right across the street. Also meter parking around the area is cheaper than parking in their garage.

After staying here over the weekend for only one night, I can only say this Hotel is just alright. Its Clean its fun, its the name of the Hilton but the rooms are outdated kinda of old for my taste. I didnt like the fact that the room does not have some standard ammenities you tend to find in fine hotels, for example no essentials like swabs, no small refrigerator for snacks, no snacks at all to even purchase in the room, the decor is pretty bad as well as the furniture for the room is completely outdated. Staff is friendly but thats pretty much it. Will I stay here again? probably not unless i a get a huge discounted rate probably @ 50 a night I'll consider it. Oh yes I'm a fan. Like Yelp says " woohoo as good as it gets".

Before departing on our cruise, we decided to book a room at this Hilton because of it's convenient location to the Port. We booked a regular room, but when we receive our room card, we notice we are on the top floor, which means we get to stay in their best suite for no additional charge.

Their top floor suite was really breath taking for a Hilton. I loved their decor because it was so different from the usual "boring" hotel suite. It was decorated with vivid Caribbean colors, such as bright yellow, blue, beiges and green.  Their bathroom was really  nice and super modern, with a shower that could easily fit 10 people. The room was super clean, tons of closet space, and just insanely so much seating. There were about 3 couches, 3 benches, four small seats, five lounge chairs and a dinning room table that fits about 6 people. This was a very good experience and they exceeded our expectations.

I would come here again in a heartbeat.

A little worn.  When I travel for work, it's all about practicality and not luxury...so I'm used to Hiltons, Hampton Inns, sheratons, and the like.

I'm a pretty loyal Hilton Honors member, but that didn't really get me anything, as I got relegated to a low floor with a bad view, somewhat too close to the elevator, in a wheelchair accesible room I didn"t ask for, and without the king bed I have requested in my HH profile.  Bathroom was also very worn, and the room air conditioner worked...loudly.  The hotel seemed very busy and being in Miami, had people coming and going at all hours (and heard very clearly through thin walls and doors).  Wifi in the room was not free, but it is in the lobby and common areas.  There was also a business center where I could print my boarding pass for free for my return trip.  No breakfast was included in the rate, so this stay was definitely a functional one...without any perks or added niceties that would have made the stay above average.

Bar food was pretty good, considering I was starving when I arrived from a late flight.  I had grilled fish tacos, and while it wasn't the best tacos ever, they qwelled my hunger.

Location- Convenient for my work trip, and about a $25 cab ride from the airport.

I stayed here the night before going on a cruise. It got a deal on hotwire for $80 plus tax. Upon arrival I requested a bay view and was charged $20 more. If I had paid more than this I would have felt ripped off. The lobby is great but the rooms are sadly in need of updating and repair. It's close to port, the staff is friendly, and there were always a line of cabs outside.

On the up side, the beds were comfortable and the restaurant was DELICIOUS! (Though highly priced.) If I found a deal for $80 again at this hotel I would book. Doubt I would willingly pay more than $100 plus tax for this place tops.

The lobby and oth common areas were well kept and nice. These are the only free wifi areas. The rooms on the other hand were a huge disapointment.  I was in a suite and while it was spacious the decor was old. The end tables were so scratched up and dented I have better ones in my basement.

The pool is nice but NOT heated. When I asked the staff why it was so cold they said it used to be heated. Well that was great but why still lie and say you have a heated pool when yo no longer do?

Super close to free rail and bus services. It is only a few blocks. As the staff warned me do NOT walk after dark in this area around the hotel. I did one night with a few people and we were asked by several homeless for money. Bayside (outdoor mall with food and some live bands) is very close and the rail option is easy and free.

Hotel Has a Rally's and Burger King right across the street. They also offer NO shuttles to anywhere and a cab to the nearest beach or the airport will cost you about 26 bucks each way.

Everything is very clean and staff is great. I guess I just expected more from a Hilton hotel when I am paying 2 grand for 4 days.

We spent two nights here before hopping on a cruise. I generally look at hotels as places to crash, so some of the details you care about may be lost on me. That said, our experience:

From the airport, we called to see if they had a shuttle. We were told to take a taxi. That was pretty expensive. I would have preferred to have been given information about public transit. (Yes, some advanced planning on our part would have helped here as well.)

To get to your room, you need to take two elevators - one to go to the lobby (located on the third floor), then another from there to your room. This was a tad bit annoying.

Room was fine - spacious, clean, bed, bathroom, floor to ceiling window looking out on the pool/city.

First night, per internet advice, we called down to the concierge looking for advice about where to go dancing. We got several recommendations along with passes that would get us past the line for two places (only went to one and it was too early to really need to use them, but the place still responded as soon as they saw the passes, so seems pretty legit). He told us to be down there by 11:30 to pick them up. We got there shortly after 11. We'd asked one guy walking by where the concierge was and were told he left. That guy seemed to have other concerns, but when we asked at the front desk, the person immediately went in back and grabbed the passes the concierge had left for us. So if you don't get what you expect with one person there, lesson is to ask another! You still may get what you're expecting.

Continental breakfast was bread, bread, and bread. Ok, it was a croissant, a muffin, and a pastry - all mediocre, tasted and looked like the mass produced kind you'd get at a bulk food store. And fruit salad was mostly melons with a sprinkling of good fruit (couple grapes & pineapple pieces). We didn't actually eat in the restaurant otherwise.

There's a grocery store very close by. There are also a few restaurants within a short walking distance. The concierge was helpful the second day when we were looking for a place to eat.

Business center was cold, but printing was easy/free.

Internet was HORRIBLE!!!! We had free access (different options depending on whether you're part of the Hilton special people club or not), but it would go out constantly. I don't really get why, but it was extremely frustrating. I had to download an update to a program and it lost connection at least a dozen times, causing me to have to start all over again. Once I got what I needed to sent off, though, I just didn't worry about it.

That's all. It's a hotel. You can sleep there. Hopefully if you're visiting Miami, you're not spending too much time in your hotel anyway. It works.

Bummed that this place has so many mixed reviews, because we had a great experience!

Yes, parking is costly, but the hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the free MetroMover. If you aren't afraid of public transportation, this is a fabulous way to get around the city without having to worry about parking. We used this to get everywhere. Again... FREE.

I was in love with the "rooftop pool" (I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed it wasn't technically the roof). I basically had it to myself for a few days while my boyfriend was attending a conference at the same hotel. Take advantage of this! Gorgeous.

Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Room was clean, view of downtown was beautiful, and located close to some good restaurants and a grocery store.

I can't figure out if the Hilton Miami is a conference hotel, downtown hotel or business hotel. It has parts of all and perhaps not always in the best way. The executive lounge has the amenities you would expect and service there is great.

But the hotel is a little tired. Rooms has great view but building interiors, tables and furnishings needed some TLC.

Parking can be a little steep by the hour or overnight and self-park us connected to the office building and adjacent Doubletree. Valet is more but includes in and out. Self-parking involves a few sets of elevators and going through the conference center before the lobby.

I would stay here again for its location and or the HHonors perks.

This is your standard downtown Hilton.  The lobby area does have a really nice bar area that doubles as a morning coffee area, that's a great idea.  Rooms are pretty standard, clean and functional.  The area around the hotel doesn't have too many restaurant choices although there is a BK and a Checkers across the street.  This is pretty much a conference hotel.

Wifi only free in lobby.  Otherwise, $10 per day.  Pool not rooftop on TOP floor, but floor 4.  A bit misleading considering there are 21 floors.  Rooftop of the basement is still technically rooftop.

Room didn't smell like ass which is good news.  Too close to dangerous neighborhoods, Liberty City and Little Haiti.  Of course I didn't realize that until I walked through some mean streets to get to Wynwood Walls.  The hotel concierge said it was no problem to walk to and from Wynwood at night.  20th street?  Wow.  Haitian residents near Wynwood insisted I not walk back through 20th street as it was so unsafe.

Go up elevator in lobby, only to transfer to another elevator to get to your room.  This gets old fast!  No hot water, warm at best.  For the money, I suggest finding a property in better hood with better amenities, better view, better perks in walking distance.

Absolutely love this hotel!!! All of the staff was helpful, professional, VERY friendly!  I will stay here every visit to Miami the heck with staying on south beach.  The breakfast is delicious, cocktail hour reasonable buy 2 get one free. Convenient to other restaurants, taxi from hotel to local restaurant and south beach no more than 12-15.00. The room was beautiful we had a bay view, slept good... Didn't want to get out of bed. Bathroom has nice upgrades and clean! No blemishes. STAY HERE!  Again the staff was super friendly Ive never stayed at a hotel that acknowledge you so fast, from our arrival, walking in the hallway, at the pool, lobby, every staff member Labor Day weekend needs a raise.

I wouldn't give it any stars if that was an option. The valet left a huge dent in my driver side door and then got an attitude and blamed me when I called them out regarding the dent. The valet was trying to rub black paint off my silver car as I questioned him. Apparently, their valet is 3rd party and not affiliated with Hilton even though they are in Hilton uniforms. My car also reeked of cologne and smoke. The hotel manager could not be bothered to call me back 3 days after the incident. We felt so uncomfortable that we checked out first thing in the morning and stayed at the Marriott. We had a pre paid room for 2 nights and asked for a credit -- we were told it would be 15 days. There is ZERO accountability from this hotel. I'd also like to note that it is run down and smells of cheap deodorizer, and could strongly benefit from an overhaul. The fact that it has such a low rating should concern visitors and Hilton. I would never stay at a Hilton after this experience.

Not the greatest Hilton, but reasonably priced in a decent area.
The rooms were clean, pillows and linen are soft. The amenities are decent.

Slight issue with the air conditioning where 70 degrees felt like 80. You may have to push it to 60 if you like it cold.

First time visiting MIami and so I decided to stay at a place away from the beachfront Art Deco places (which we were considering) yet close enough to get there in 10 minutes.  Downtown was the perfect choice.

The funny thing, we chose downtown to get away from the noise, but across the street there was a club that played loud music all day.  According to one of the front desk people, Miami law allows for loud music until 12 midnight.

I specifically asked for a top floor so we would get a spectacular view.  I have to say I was very pleased with the view that we got.  The hotel was clean and nice.  $100 was a reasonable price for one night.

Here for a few days on business. Since business paid for it I unfortunately don't know the price range. Front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. Room decor was moderate looking and everything functioned correctly and wasn't run down. Definitely not eye appealing overall like a boutique hotel, and not the best Hilton I've stayed in, but definitely not a bad choice.

    First off,
Staff is wonderful! Front desk agents, managers, housekeepers, valet & even the hotel engineer was so helpful.

Just 5 minutes from South Beach, the location is great for those wanting to stay in between the city & the beach.

The hotel could use a bit of a face lift.
Hilton is known for its clean, simple & modern designs but this property was a toss up of Embassy Suites forest shrubbery, Buckingham Palace wallpapers...oh and just a touch of neon to remind us all that we're in Miami.

Great view, but needs to be updated.

As a longtime Hilton member, I've stayed in their properties all around the country, and I must say  the service at this hotel was some of the best I've ever experienced.  From the woman who check us in, and hooked us up with a killer view from the 20th floor, to the breakfast server, valets and the ever present bell hops, everyone was super nice and embodied what hospitality should be.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in this hotel for a conference.  The hotel is clean and the rooms are nice but it was nothing special.  The hotel is your typical business/conference hotel.  The biggest problem I have with the hotel is the location.  It is located in an area where there really isn't much to do or see.  If you want to find a nice place to eat or you want to see any sights, you will need to take a cab or use the public transportation.  There really isn't much in walking distance.  Overall it was a good hotel but nothing special.

Travelers to Miami...lend me your ears (I'll give them back later)

I like this Hilton and stay here a lot, and here's why.

    1. Good location.  Close to downtown, easy access to Metromover, very quick over causeway into South Beach
    2. Friendly staff.  Everyone is always so nice, from front desk to housekeeping to people in concierge lounge.  Plus, the valet guys are always super nice!
    3. It's got what you need.  Nice pool, great bar, very nice workout center, great views, good wifi and it's very clean.

Now not all the rooms are as nice as some of them (I've stayed in a variety and rate them from a 6 to a 10), there could be a jacuzzi in addition to the pool, but I've always had nice stays here.

I think this is a good value for the money as other hotels in the area are just as pricey (or more) and not as friendly.  Give this a shot.

Stayed at the Hilton Downtown Miami for four nights, for work. A pretty solid experience. No complaints, there was however, a hiccup one night ( there was a ton of garbage littered on our floor next to the elevators) but an otherwise positive experience. Loved the intoxicating scent this hotel has! You can smell it everywhere in the hotel... It was a lovely fresh scent and it was literally being pumped out of the vents... So lovely!  Loved the service, the front desk to the maids, to the banquet staff- everyone was friendly and eager to help.  It's right across the street from a Publix supermarket and a Wells Fargo, but aside from that it's not really close to any restaurants or shops. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it's pretty bland and expensive. I did however like that there was a Starbucks in the lobby and happy hour at the bar is two for one, it's pretty great- prices are reasonable.  It's a small walk to the arts center but you'll need taxis or a rental car to get you anywhere- it's roughly 10 minutes away to south beach. It is however, right on the trolley line and just a short ride away from Midtown and Bayside ( if shopping and restaurants are what you are seeking). Floor to ceiling windows, large bathrooms and flat screen TVs! The furniture was a bit older and worn but the room was clean overall. A very positive stay- will definitely be back!

My family and I stayed here for 8 nights over New Year's.  We were not impressed with the service and amenities from the first day: the room did not have a mini-fridge, the pool definitely does not have enough furniture for the hotel, housekeeping service was terrible, room was barely cleaned.  Worse part of the experience: items were STOLEN from our room!  When we realized the missing items, we called security, completed a report, was told that we would be contacted by some sort of "loss department".  This was back on January 4th, and no one from Hilton has contacted us.  DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I am quite surprised by the high ratings. This hotel has probably needed an upgrade since the 1990s. The lobby and bar area are dated. The carpet in the bar (and hallways) is dirty. The bar stops serving appetizers at 10pm (altho they do serve pizza). The mixed drinks (Manhattan and Old fashioned) had very little Bourbon (I should have watched the bartender make them) and they were $15 each.
The pool is nice, but the patio furniture looks nice from a distance is worn and some pieces are broken.
The room was very bad especially for the price ($250+ /night). Not only dated, but AC did not work properly, bath tub did not drain properly and the bathroom I am certain has been unchanged for decades with the exception of throwing on granite on the counter. I called front desk to see about room switch, first time no answer, second on hold for 10 minutes, no answer. Went to front desk, lines too long and had to leave for meetings.
I was there for a meeting and company paid two of three nights, but I was on hook for other night. Wish I would have stayed elsewhere the other night, but as Marathon in town no weekend rooms to be found.
Fot the price there are much nicer in Miami.

Hotel is at a great location, staff is friendly, they have a pool, which is nice but I had a few things to note:
-wifi is not free unless you are a honors member or apparently an ATT subscriber, everyone else has to pay.
-I experienced air quality issues while in the hotel room. Being inside of the room for a few hours resulted in my nose getting stuffy and throat feeling odd, walking outside to the street was a world of difference. We tried getting it checked out but just got a bunch of bs from the engineer. It doesn't help that we have windows that can't be opened for fresh air.

Other than that it was good.

This hotel not only wasn't worth the money from the beginning, it was rather disappointing. We were staying here as a convenience to a concert we were attending and we woke up in the morning to go to the concert and after a constant down poor for an hour before we woke up floods the every street in front of the exit and shin deep in valet area. It is at a very low point in town so if you expect rain I wouldn't stay here. Not only do we have a horrible time before the show, we come back and have to walk up to the 7th floor(steps) because the elevators in the lobby are broken. Meanwhile the fire alarm sounds blaring in my ear, the hotel workers were saying how ridiculous it was also and being rude. The valet manager or the guy who claims he was the manager also is a total idiot, and says he isn't trying to be a di** but then precedes to tell me how the f**k do you want me to drive your damn car down here. I walked to checkers across the street and almost got robbed for my wallet. End of my shi**y night at this hilton.
Service:3 (Only because they escorted me upstairs)
Hotel over all including everyone: 2, I couldn't eve  say 3.

We were there for 6 nights during Art Basel (exhibiting at Spectrum). Our days were long & exhausting. All we wanted was a good quick evening meal & a good night's sleep in a comfortable room.

DECOR: Dated, ugly & depressing colors (the yellowish beige walls reminded me of the tenement my grandparents used to live in). The carpeting & wall decor was not attractive or inspiring. But I did like the photos of Miami in the room.

DAY 1: We arrived on Tues evening. Our room was at event rates thru Spectrum, for 5 nights, so we had an add'l back-to-back res for the 6th night. Our res was for 2 people, 1 King bed. Front desk (FD) insisted that NO King beds left in the entire hotel. Which can happen, but they also said the request wasn't even in our res. We had a printout proving that's what we had requested. The FD person went into the back & came back, miraculously, with a King room for us on the 5th floor.

I am a Silver Hilton Honors member but didn't have my card with me, & FD couldn't find me in their system. But I found my # in my phone, & they, miraculously, found my membership.

Late dinner in hotel restaurant. Excellent filet mignon. Very good French onion soup. Everything else tasted bland. Waiters were ok, but other staff was slow & bored.

We got to the room & noticed the carpet outside the bathroom was SOAKED, not just damp. We called housekeeping and they sent someone right away. He checked the a/c and couldn't find the source of the water leakage. He threw a bunch of towels on the carpet, which were immediate soaked. He left them there.

We got into bed, and then someone from Engineering showed up. (It was around 11:30p) He also couldn't find the source of the water.

DAY 2: Breakfast in restaurant. I ordered an egg-white omelet. I couldn't eat it because it was so heavily salted. Waiter was nice and brought a new one, but my husband was already finished eating. No manager was called over.

I got a call from housekeeping (HK) that they were going to move us to another room because of the leak. I wanted to be sure it also was a King room, which he said it was. He said I would be getting a call from the FD.

3 hours later, HK called back and asked if FD had called to move us. They had not. He said he would take care of it, which he did. My husband was already at the show, so I had to repack all of our things to be moved to the new room.

We had to eat an early dinner because of the show opening at 5:00. Concierge was very nice (Guy), but he sent us to a restaurant that was closed for the afternoon. Our cab had already left, so we had to catch another cab and find our way to another restaurant (not knowing Miami at all). They only had happy hour appy's and we were starving, but we had to make do.

Late dinner room service, I decided to try something different & ordered the hamburger med. rare. It was so tasteless, dense as stone, and overcooked. McDonald's would have been better. Luckily I had also ordered the French onion soup (soon to become my staple meal). We also ordered desserts, which were bland & inedible.

DAYS 3-5: More of the same. Breakfast one morning I decided to try the buffet (recommended by the waitress to save money). Everything on the buffet was low quality - the cheese & deli meats, all breads were stale & cheap, oatmeal was cold and like glue. Even though it was almost closing, the food still should have been fresh. My husband ordered fresh scrambled eggs (how hard is that?). They came obviously from the buffet, not fresh cooked, which was proven after we sent them back and he got a fresh order. This time, the waitress (Yenny) did send the manager, who comped our food.

At the end of Day 5, knowing that one res was ending & the back-to-back res for the last night was happening the next day, we stopped at the FD to make sure our res was in place. We were assured it was.

Day 6: In the a.m., the bill for the 1st res was slid under the door. I called the FD to reconfirm that we still had the room for 1 more night. I checked my room key when I left the room & it didn't work. I went to the FD & was told that I needed a new room key for the 2nd res. WHEN COULD THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT? When we first checked in & were told about the back-to-back? the night before when we stopped to confirm at the FD in person? or that morning when I called to reconfirm with the FD? Instead, I got locked out of my room for no reason!

That night, we got back very late.. As we walked to our room, I pulled the new room key out, but didn't need it because THE DOOR WAS AJAR!!! HK had moved the security stop over & forgot to move it back when she left! The manager tried to offer me late check out, which I already had as an HH member. He took off $79 from the bill, but the bill next day, only $59 was deducted.

When I reviewed that bill when we got home, I found that the event rate we had been charged was wrong & had to call to get another adjustment! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!

We checked in on a particularly cold day in January, when the temperature was only in the 50's and the low in the 30's. We adjusted the thermostat, to no avail.  Maintenance said the building had no heat and this could not be fixed but it didn't matter because they are in Miami!  Um- hello???  Miami still fell below freezing outside that night!  I guess they forgot to mention to Mother Nature that she was supposed to exempt Miami from the cold front.

Customer service-wise, this Hilton is just the best and I've stayed at many. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and they upgraded us to the highest floor bayview room - mad views of the city! The awesome Concierge, David, arranged for a chilled fruit platter and bottle of red just as requested (thank you David for this well executed surprise for the bf!) Front desk staff are super friendly. Breakfast at the restaurant was pretty tasty.

As for location, it's close to a lot of restaurants and bars, though not quite walking distance. We had a great time out on the city. Everything was a short Uber ride away. Miami beach is relatively convenient too since the Omni bus terminal was just next door.

The only gripes I have with this hotel is 1) AC is too loud 2) toilet roll is too far from the toilet seat.. not short people friendly.

We stayed here before and after our cruise with Norwegian to Bahamas. Hilton location is perfect if you go on Norwegian as their ships leave from port of Miami which is 5 mins by car from this hotel location.

Both times we reached the hotel way ahead of 3pm checkin. But the front desk staff were so helpful and let us checkin without any issues. Before cruise we paid $20 extra and got a bay view room and it was worth it. After cruise we  got a corner room and could see the front and the side of the hotel and loved it.
The rooms are bright and spacious and the bay windows are wonderful. The bed is very comfy.

Concierge was very helpful and helped us with our Everglades safari tour and it was awesome. Ask the concierge about this tour as they will link you with a local tour company and it is $50 per person which includes the transportation and entry ticket to the air boat tour. They pick up and drop off right at the front of the hotel.

This is our first trip to Miami and we would love to stay at this Hilton location if we ever come back again.

Call me a hotel snob if you want, but I wasn't all that excited about this hotel. I was attending a conference held at the hotel, so it made sense to book my room there due to the special room rate.

The best parts of the hotel were the common areas. The lobbies were pretty and well kept, the conference area was spacious, the staff was friendly, but when it came to the rooms themselves I was left wanting more. The air conditioner was INSANELY loud. It would kick in off and on throughout the night and would wake me and my husband up practically once an hour. Although our room was technically clean, the upkeep was lacking: one of our lampshades had a stain and hole in it. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling. The toilet wouldn't flush unless you pressed the lever twice (probably only a problem in our room specifically, but it was still a bit frustrating). All in all, I was very glad I only paid the reduced conference rate for this room. If I return to Miami I would most likely be searching for a different location to stay at.

I was so excited for my family's 4th of July staycation at the Hilton. We requested a bay view room and got upgraded to a suite. As for the view of the fireworks, it was perfect. Sitting in a cold room snuggled under a blanket without bugs and humidity while watching several firework shows as far as the eye could see....it was hard to see how this hotel could go wrong.

But it was wrong. So many things about this hotel just weren't quite right.

    -The views are great
-The employees (from the front desk to room service) were all friendly and efficient
-The location is right around the corner from the metromover
-The area by the valet has plenty of comfortable seating for the many people waiting for their car to come around. They have a whole area with patio sofas outside, so that you're not standing around or forced to sit on a hot, concrete bench.
-The towels were big and fluffy

-We had three thermostats in our room and none of them seemed to work. We were freezing during most of our stay. Like another reviewer said, it was also very loud.
-It took forever to get the wifi to work and when it finally did, the connection was slow. As a side note to this, we called for help twice and would get a quick tip to try and then they hung up and said for us to call back if it didn't work. How about stay on the phone until we know it works?
-Our "suite" looked like two adjoining rooms where the corner room was converted to a living area, but the furniture was so mismatched and in poor condition. It seemed like they put pieces of old furniture from various rooms in there for a makeshift "suite".
-The bathroom was not as clean as I expected. There looked to be blood stains in the grout between the tiles.
-The bathroom was small. There was one sink and a very tiny bathtub.
-The cable was awful. The satellite kept coming in and out every 20 seconds or so. It made watching tv really frustrating.

This wasn't an awful experience, but it just wasn't good. Just a lot of little inconveniences. I'm glad we got a great deal because if we had paid for a suite, I think we would've felt ripped off.

The street entrance of the hotel is not the lobby level. You have to take a lift up one floor to the lobby, cross the lobby and take another set of lifts to the rooms. There are five lifts to the rooms and one is always ready to ascend, however they seem to move slowly once you are in them. The halls and room doors could use an update. The room door felt like really light metal. Inside my room (1815) there was spacious floor area. The bed was comfy and there was a desk chair, a separate arm chair, and another chair for seating options.  The plug situation was perfect; one on each side of the bed and two on the desk not to mention the bathroom. I had a nice partial bay view as well as downtown view (north).

The breakfast included for gold members is the buffet. The price otherwise is $19. You can get an omelette or the standard fare from the buffet. Eggs. Bacon. Sausage. Potatoes. Lunch meats. Juices. Bakery. Quiche muffins.

The gym is on floor one and has basic cardio equipment and dumbbells. The pool is off the lobby. It is an outdoor pool. There is a surrounding patio connected to the breakfast restaurant.

The location of the hotel is okay. It is not for most people walking distance to the Bayfront Marketplace. It is close to the Omni bus terminal and a few Miami Trolley stops which could take you go Bayfront. I'd probably stay closer to Bayfront next time just to cut down on travel time to Miami Beach and the main restaurants in downtown. This is an okay place to stay if going to American Airlines Arena, however personally I'd probably still want to stay south of the arena. To date, the area south of there seems more developed, though there are nice condos near this hotel.

On a business trip. I had a pretty good stay. Great staff. I had a nice time with the Bar Tender Mayva not too sure on the spelling. There are great views you can see Miami Heat Arena, The Venetian Bridge leading to the Biscayne Bays. I will be back one day with my Wife instead of business trip. Not too far from South Beach you can hit the bridge and be there in 5-10 depending on your style of driving

The location is ideal. A ten minute drive from everything. The room size is very spacious and we really had a good view. The customer service is superb. Everyone is very polite and nice. The common areas were really nice, very big and festive for the holidays

Cons. Our room view consisted of the garage(con) and downtown Miami(pro). Some stations on the tv didn't work, leaving us to believe the tv was broken. The ice machine was really far and the vending machine on our floor didn't work. The room did not come with a fridge therefore we had to keep throwing away our food.

Pros: Beautiful lobby and bar/lounge area. I love that the pool goes to 8' deep. Nice poolside furniture. Bell staff is quite nice. Good location.

Cons: Kevin at the front desk is a jerk. He was unable to explain why our prepaid room was unavailable when we checked in, and had an attitude about us checking in. We requested a late check-out, and they turned our keys off and failed to inform us that we needed to retrieve a new key. The self-parking into the hotel is confusing. The area by the ballrooms wreaks of gasoline. There was broken glass at the bar/lounge area. I told the bartender and he didn't care to fix it, so I was left to pick-up the broken glass.

I really wish I could have given them a better rating.

Meets the overall hilton standard and has an executive lounge. But the hotel is an older property. Carpets and furniture need to be replaced soon.

Get a corner room if you can. The view of downtown Miami and the port is worth paying for the upgrade!

Not bad.  Clean.  Huge.  Nice outdoor patio area.  Decent bar staff, once you get their attention.  Good conch fritters.  Overcooked mahi mahi....though not offensively so....and quite a large sandwich (kitchen and food room service roll up the carpet at midnight).  Nice drink list in the lounge.  Starbucks staff are slow as cold molasses, though!  The valets are the best part of the experience.

The hallways are quite unimaginative/boring, and it's a maze to find the ice machine.  The rooms are spacious.  The beds are comfortable.  The bathrooms were decent.  Nice views from most rooms.  Not enough outlets near the beds.

Very odd that you have to enter a sub-lobby....then take an elevator up to another lobby.....then go to a different bank of elevators for the rooms.......

I'd consider staying there again....if the price really beat other options.  If prices were comparable?  I'd probably see what the area competition has to offer.

Over all I give this hotel a 3 star.  If I could go 3.5 I would.

    1. The people/staff are amazing and the service is with out equal. The staff are very friendly and helpful from the parking valets to the front desk to the restaurant wait staff. Joe the waiter really nice guy.

    2. The room is what hurt the overall rating. This is a Hilton. I found the room clean but lamp shades are beat up and lamp base is broken and one is bent. Internet is 10$ a day.  The Tv does not have the internal hotel channels working on the first two channels so it took me a while to figure out the tv was not broken.

    3. The Restaurant I had 2 dinners and both were mediocre at best. The chicken was blend and the pasta weak. The first night I had the trout. It was better but still bland and expensive for what I got.

Beautiful property, delicious food in the restaurant, rooms and amenities lovely, service excellent!  It's also right across the street from the Publix, which is great if you forgot anything.  Very typical for a Hilton property!

Close to the bay, downtown, and Metromover station. The service is great. The gym is nice and has a lot of cardio equipment. The pool area is big with sun all day. I think it's a good place to stay for business travelers with an office or customers nearby. It's definitely not for personal travel.

My home this week has been the Hilton. The staff here has made me feel as though I am welcome and it's a pleasure for each of them to help. It has been a such a pleasant experience-- from the valet, the front desk, the maids and even the people handling the room service. Again, what a bunch of sweethearts-- It's a beautiful thing when people take pride in their work and it shows!

The rooms are cozy with beautiful views. I like the beds, the linens are comfortable and soft while the rooms get super close to pitch black when the lights are off and the curtains are shut (I'm a huge fan of this)!

The bathrooms are spacious with long marble countertops and bathtubs, not just showers. We lucked out ordering the King Bed Suite with a view of the Intercoastal, because it has a pullout couch bed and tons of space (it feels like the equivalent of two rooms, not just one)!

I rented a car this time, but everything is so close, within walking distance or a short cab ride (or long ride to South Beach), that I wouldn't rent one again, if I was staying here. In the regard of proximity to groceries, coffee, downtown, the American Airlines Arena, and much much more the location is cool. If you're craving that short distance to the sandy beach, or just a block or two away, this is not your hotel-- go across the intercoastal waterway to the beach.

For the inflated prices we paid to be here over New Years, I would say, we still got a great deal. Like I mentioned earlier, this place has been a delight from start to finish-- (well we are almost checked out of here...in a couple more days).

    Would I return here?

Yes, if I was going to more concerts or had to limit my expenses (quality hotels on Biscayne Blvd. verses the beach strip, Highway A1A, are typically lower in cost).

No, if I could manage to stay right on the beach. I'm a beach bunny in spirit!

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends!

Where ever you end up, enjoy!

This is a five star on line and I'm now giving the hotel five stars
I was pleased with this hotel from the moment my transportation pulled up to the front entrance.
I got the welcome treatment I was asked if this was my 1st time at the hotel.(yes) Next thing I know right this way Ms. Shonda did not have to worry about a check in it was pre done my luggage was sent to my room. I was able to get a cab right at the front door for a little time out on the town. I Was also able to get a great rest and the bed felt so good and soft
So yes I loved the Customer  Service, the Room  was great and just really enjoyed the atmosphere

My parents had no complaints during their stay there. I did think the parking was a bit pricey but luckily, they allowed me to park on the side while I ran in to grab an item from my parents. Not sure why the elevator from the valet isn't the same from the rest of the hotel but it's not a deal breaker. Just adds time to arrival and departure from the hotel. Overall, the room was clean, great views, the staff was very attentive to my parents' needs. They will likely stay again.

Very nice hotel. I used my points and upgraded to a corner jr suite with a bay view. Gorgeous room with large living area as well as a large dining table. Floor to ceiling windows all around the living area and in the bedroom as well. Nice amenities. Room service was prompt and courteous.

We had breakfast downstairs before check out and did the buffet. Im not generally a fan of buffets but this one was pretty good. The food was basically cold though which was disappointing but still good. The chef was even nice enough to buy us mimosas when my other half told him I was in need of one.

It was a very busy time in downtown when we stayed here and the valets spent considerable time waving down a cab for us, which was greatly appreciated.  The valet was also quick at retrieving our vehicle upon checkout.

I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Arrived at the hotel - excited for brunch- but unfortunately it wasn't all that great.
The entrance to the hotel was looked like a flea market , chaos and noise is an understatement.
I was starving so I ordered eggs Benedict but not exactly sure what I received. SEE picture. So I proceeded to eat what looked edible. Pancakes were yummy. I was hoping more from my first  meal in Miami.

The room was basic & outdated, but it did have a nice view.

Not the best hotel in Miami and definitely  not the best Hilton. Took awhile to get our rooms but received a free upgrade! 3 stars is due to the stained lamp shades in the Jr suite and the unsafe extension cord the hotel used in our room.

Good hotel overall and great price for Miami Beach. Pictures are posted. And very close to the cruise port

The customer service here is excellent. There was a mistake made by Expedia on our reservation and they didn't have us in their system. On an extremely busy day their front desk, Ingrid went out of her way to assist us and take care of us. She went over and above what she needed to do and she made our vacation and stay wonderful. We have a new connection to the Hilton because of Ingrid and I hope she's acknowledged for her customer service.

Since our visit we've found our way to other Hiltons across the country and have grown to appreciate the service each Hilton brings.
