Another good stay at a Holiday Inn Express. Couple o' things- As far as I could tell, there was only one way to get in- through the lobby. That's all good except that most of the parking is in the back and you either have to pull your luggage through the bushes, go the long way around the back of the hotel or you can pull it in the street to get around the other side. Maybe have some sort of path across the grass to fix this? I would have just cut across it, but it was so humid that it was muddy. Some HIEs have a back door to access with the key card and that would be cool here. Also, the rooms (or mine did anyway) needed more outlets. When I'm on the road and arrive at my hotel, the first thing I need to do is to plug in my laptop, my cell, my bluetooth and my Kindle. My room left me with the choice of plugging one thing in on the desk then two things in the bathroom and choosing to unplug either the clock or a lamp to plug in the last thing. I needed to keep the clock plugged in so I don't have to reset it and some light to work by too. More outlets closer together please! I couldn't use my cell and laptop at the same time cuz they both needed to be plugged in and the only two plugs in one spot were at the bathroom sink. Not the best place to set up my workspace. My keys deactivated a couple times during my stay so I had to carry all my work crap back to the front desk to tell someone and get a reactivation. That doesn't usually happen at HIEs so are the cards old or something? I did like how the little snack shop had a lot to choose from. I'm hungry and thirsty but tired after work so going out to eat can be too much trouble when I'd prefer to just go to the fitness center then find something right there in the building. Thanks for having microwave popcorn and Corona! The staff was really nice too.

Nice, clean hotel. Not the biggest room, but had everything we needed (bed, big tv, good size vanity area, free airport shuttle). Shower and breakfast were great of course (HIE standard). Also felt safe walking to Carinos then to the Ale House for drinks. Would stay again.

After having spent the previous month holed up (pretty much) in the Doral Holiday Inn about a block away, I decided to change it up a little and try out the Holiday Inn Express. I may never go back to the other Holiday Inn again.

The HI Express in Doral is a very nice hotel. It's newer than the HI down the street and they don't waste a lot of room with, well, rooms.  I actually think I preferred the smaller room of the HIE over the somewhat larger rooms at the regular Holiday Inn on 87th street.

Other "pluses" over the regular HI include an in-room refrigerator, a much larger TV with channels that you can actually SEE (as opposed to fuzzy), and a free continental breakfast.

The only downside I had was that to get to the US Southern Command building, I had to make a U-turn, or drive around the block and cut through Carnival Cruise Lines HQ; whereas at the other Holiday Inn, I simply turned right and then turned left.

The staff is very friendly (not unlike the other Holiday Inn). The rooms are clean. The hotel is nicely located if you need to go out to eat, go to the airport or shop. And it's right next to the Palmetto Expressway, so getting to one of the major arteries of Miami is fairly easy.

Done it before and will do it again soon.  For Thanksgiving.  I have a wee small place and a huge family.  So of course for a holiday or two someone always graces us with their wonderful presence.

I feel horrible asking them to stay at a hotel so often I do.  For a night or two I give my mom my room, my dog, my cat, my kids.. hey this is actually a great deal for me!  SCORE.  I just realized how good this is!

Holiday Inn Express is affordable, clean, spacious and it is what it is.  Perfect to get away for a night with my hubby and leave the craziness of having family over to the family themselves.

If you are in town to see or play some Golf and don't want to pay Doral Resort prices, you are literally across the street.  Mondongos and other restaurants are within walking distance.  Nice deal.

Family coming into town and not enough space in the house ? no problem, we will gladly leave our humble abode so our guests can enjoy while we "escape" to the HIE.

Conveniently located in the heart of Doral, within walking distance to the Doral Resort and Spa and several restaurants ranging from fast food to good sushi.

This place is an excellent alternative, clean, updated and good service at a reasonable price.

No need to pay high "5 Star" resort prices in this area, HIE is here !!

Was in town on business.  I had no reservation but I am a priority member.  I called to have the free shuttle pick me up.  I arrived on a Friday night and was able to secure a room with a view (3rd floor of 4).  The room was very comfortable and clean.  The check-in and out process was very smooth and fast.  The staff were very accommodating and I had a great nights sleep!  Would definitely stay here again.
FYI: there is a Holiday Inn Express closer to the airport (maybe 10-15 mins away).  This location is about 20-25mins away in a taxi.

One of the most horrible hotel experience I can think of.. The walls could talk.. You can hear everything happening on all 4 floors.. Looks like I took a low grade room in Cuba or Mexico. It was horrible crowd. And next to highway too so couldn't sleep. The walk way was smelly too.. Oh I forgot.. Septic smell from other rooms came into my room. I am finding way to get back $175 that I paid for staying one night. The receptionist was also unfriendly. Did not even welcome or thank.

Worst hotel ever! Don't book because even though you book a room with 2 beds they will give you one and a couch. So for 3 nights I slept on a couch.  The air conditioner in the room makes a smell when you turn it on. The TV doesn't work most of the time. There is no curtain to keep their nice bright blue neon light out, or sunlight. They don't offer comforters to their guests. There is mold in the bathroom. Also the shower losses water pressure and then will blast you with hot water. The bathroom door was broken they told me to fix it myself. Their breakfast buffet gave me coffee with grounds in it. The staff is incompetent.  The key card stoped working after the first day. I would have knocked but they painted our door while we were occupying our room. So this only added to the negatve aroma of this establishment. Then in broken English told us we check out now. Upon which time I went down stairs to fix.  This place is a nightmare. It's best to find anywhere else.

Stayed here 2 nights. They won't clean your room unless you're out by 11am. And contrary to all their advertising they don't actually have pancakes at breakfast, but it's still one of the better complimentary breakfast. The front desk was gracious and let us check in early.

I never rate hotels on here but this a great one, good price, and will do in a last minute pinch. Has a pool, a decent breakfast with "eggs" (not fresh but still it's protein) and yogurt.
Best asset: 2 minutes walk to a Lime Fresh Mexican Grill next door!!
Worst asset: Airport shuttle that arrives 30 minutes late (but not part of the hotel so not their fault).  Plan accordingly.
I forgot an item and the front desk person Julie boxed it up for me and UPS'd it to my house. Everyone there is nice and very accommodating. Great little hotel near the airport!!

The only star is for the price. $75 a night is really good for this area. Other than that, good luck here. The place is old, looks new on the outside due to the Holiday Inn contract, but the rooms are out of the 1980's. old floors, old furniture and old bed. The bed felt like sleeping on a hardwood floor, and the pillows... well same thing. The floors and hallway all smell like vanilla which is an obvious attempt to cover up another smell.
The bathroom doors open inward, meaning if you are on the toilet, you can not close or open the door. Not a functional bathroom at all. Spend an extra $20 and go elsewhere.

Check-in was easy and only took 3 min. Staff was friendly and took care of my request right away.

The offer a nice complimentary breakfast starting at 6:00am.

They also offer a free airport shuttle starting at 6:00 am and on the top of the hour. You just need to make sure to sign up.

Great staff and GM. From the first day I checked in  they were very helpful. I will definitely come back and recommend my friends and family to stay here while in town.

They have a breakfast bar open from 0600-0930 giving plenty of time for anyone wanting to grab a bite.
