Extremely old facility, need make over!  Location is great though, right across from pier of Miami.

Front desk staff rude, clueless, and not fluent in English; I got stuck in elevator, told staff, and nobody cared, friends got stuck for even longer and no one responded to emergency alarm; very finicky room locks/doors; bathroom fixtures in disrepair; awful smelling conference room on 10th floor; extremely slow wifi

do not go here! horrible awful motel!!!! dirty, ghetto, loud, rude staff!!!!!

First of all, my flight came in early and I explained that to the person when I booked the room and asked if I could have an early check in, and was told I could. I got there and had to wait in the lobby for 3+ hours because I was told I was given "wrong" information. I wouldn't have booked this hotel if I couldn't get an early check in, asI knew this and told them in advance. They didn't care. I got to my room #Room 900# and it was old and dirty and LOUD! There was some rumbling noise that happend ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT. Couldn't even sleep it was so bad. The room was hot...the temperature never went below 72 degrees, and it was a hot 72 degrees. We woke up sweating and hot... it was disgusting. There was NO water pressure in the sink, so we had to use the shower to wash hands, brush teeth, etc. The toilet didn't work - it was plugged when we got there. We called the front desk to ask if someone could fix it and was told, "no one is available to fix it, you can come down and get a plunger." That didn't work, so we had a toilet that didn't work the whole time. We had to go downstairs to use the lobby bathroom. There was someone elses hair in the bed when we turned it down... it was DISGUSTING! We ate at the "breakfast buffet" and paid $12.99 for a lowsy buffet that consisted of very basic #and not so great at that# food that had cold eggs and cold waffles/pancakes. There was a black girl hostess there that was BEYOND RUDE, rude to the customers, and rude to the other wait staff... I was embarassed for her, she was so rude #and arrogant#. The pool is sub-par. This hotel looked NOTHING like the pictures, and is very old. I was beyond disappointed with this hotel, the service, and I will NEVER be back nor will I recommend it to my family and friends. PASS ON THIS HOTEL! OR MOTEL, I should say.

For being an affordable hotel in Downtown Miami, this one fits the bill nicely, without any frills. The rooms are a good size and decent enough. There's a pool, restaurant, and bar on site. And there's a parking lot behind should you want to have a car. Bayside Marketplace is directly across and it's not far at all from Miami Beach (by car).

In a few words, this hotel offers what you would expect from any standard Holiday Inn.

This is your standard Holiday Inn, if you're expecting luxury then you should look elsewhere. It's a decent place to stay in, especially if you're waiting to leave for your cruise.

Location is great! Close to the Port of Miami and also close to shopping areas and night life.

As with many people, we stayed here for a few days prior to leaving for a cruise.

    Pros:
    - It seems pretty close to a lot of stuff. Close to the cruise ship terminals, and close to a bunch of restaurants.... Many shops and food, tours etc within walking distance.
    - For us, they upgraded us to a huge suite for no extra fee. I like that.
    - Since it's hotter than hell in Miami, the air conditioning was nice.

    Cons:
    - It seems a little run-down... a little older, and not as clean/fancy as it could be.

Overall a pretty good hotel... there are definitely better hotels nearby, but this was a pretty good price and close to where we wanted to be close to.

We stayed here one night after our cruise and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the hotel is very clean, the rooms are large and best of all we had a spectacular view on the 10th floor. We could see the Marketplace, the Marina, even the cruise terminal. The worse part was watching our ship leave port on their next voyage without us. Great location if your taking a cruise. $10 cab ride to the terminal. It's even walking distance to downtown Miami shopping.

We we re so disappointed in the cleanliness of the room.  There was hair in the sink, strange spots on the wall, and the remote and telephone was sticky!   Noel the manager did move us to another room that was smaller than what we paid for.  Would not recommend for the price!

We loved the convenience of the hotel's location as we could park in back and walk everywhere. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful especially since we arrived before our room was ready-storing our luggage in a locked facility until it was.   The room was large, the beds were very comfortable, and had a great view from the 8th floor. there were lots of places to plug in our various things-cells and computer. The restaurant in the hotel had a nice selection that was reasonably priced.

The only thing I can add is that the parking lot is small and if you arrive later in the day, you might have to park elsewhere.

We stayed here in advance of a cruise. The pros: across the street from a big mall, lots of shops and places to eat. And as close to the cruise terminal as you can get, though that is still a taxi ride away.
Cons: they had apparently sprayed some kind of air freshener that morning, and used the entire can. It was almost overwhelming. My husband was speculating that the previous occupant had died. Anyway, 5 minutes after we got in the room, there was a knock on the door, and before we got to the door (which we had put the security lock on), the guy who had just checked us in unlocked the door and attempted to come in, to "see how everything is". I have never seen this before. Since he was the, we asked about the overpowering smell, and he showed us what they usually do:open the bathroom door and run the fan. The fact that they know what to do in this situation suggests that this has happened before, so why not lay off the air freshener and address the cause of any odors instead? The other issue we had was trying to figure out the air conditioner. We asked the maid, who had no idea. Then they brought in an engineer. He fixed it.

We booked this hotel for a pre cruise stay in Miami and we we're pleasantly surprised. The hotel room we had was much larger than we expected and we were very pleased when we arrived. Everything was clean and I am picky when it comes to hotels and how clean they are. We would absolutely stay here again pre cruise. It has a great location and was only a 5 minute taxi ride to the cruise terminal. If you are visiting the beach it probably isn't the best location, but it would be great for a Heat game too!
My only real complaint was that we had requested early check in for the the stay at the time of booking which was about 8 months in advance and although I know they can not accommodate everyone on these requests I feel like 8 months in advance should be enough notice to secure early check in. We were really disappointed when our room was not even ready at time at the normal check in time and we waited an hour past check in time for our room. We had been up since 3:30 in the morning and had a long travel day getting from Chicago that day. They apologized and I know they really were sorry, but we really just wanted to lay down we were so tired from traveling. It didn't ruin the trip or the experience and we would stay there again.

The worst hotel experience I ever have had. No hot water and no apology or explanation. Day of check- out no elevators working. Carried luggage down 10 flights of stairs. My party and I stayed to assist the elderly and handicapped people with there luggage with no help from employees. Staff was aggressive when asked to help. Even after getting half off our bill I still felt cheated

I've been staying in this hotel every year for Ultra Music Festival since 2007.   It's close proximity to Bicentennial Park and Bayside Marketplace make it a perfect place to stay when you are in Downtown Miami and need to be around these areas.  Walking is a must as parking and driving are pretty insane and costly.

The rooms are decent size and clean, although I think the place has seen better days.  Over the years, I've seen some changes but it remains a place to rest your head when you aren't out on the town.

This is a a-ok hotel with good value.   I gave it 4 star due to its location to the mall across the street and fairly clean / inexpensive.    We had a great view of the water / port from our room and the price just couldn't be beat!

The hotel is not bad, for a Holiday Inn. Lobby is great! The rooms were ok as well. The reason for the 3 stars is the RUDE and unprofessional service in Room Service and the Restaurant. The manager, who is elderly should take charge of that restaurant and actually run his people. I actually saw waiters raising their tones and snapping at HIM! That goes to show how that whole place is run and how they treat the customer!

This was my first time staying at this hotel.  I was here for my yearly business conference and I was very impressed.  The price was affordable and it was much cleaner and more maintained than other hotels in the area.  I for sure will stay here again if I can.  The staff is friendly and even helped us find parking in their parking lot.  Parking is $12 a day, but worth it.  If you are ever in the area come check it out.

Stayed on 11/10 for one night before a cruise. Have stayed here numerous times prior.  Also I am a Holiday Priority Member. Since trip was very important to me, I called four days prior to confirm my reservation which I had booked three months prior.  The reservation was confirmed and even received and email to confirm. I requested king suite. Bay view and upper room.  All this was confirmed plus told them would be there around 1:30 and told not problem
Upon arrival at 1:40 clerk told me no rooms available with attitude.  I pushed and showed email he denied it was sent from hotel.........so who else would.    They said were full last night but have a room.   Went to room on top floor and knew it was wrong view.  Open curtain to see roof. Went down and saw manager (Noel) who agreed to make changes and store bags.  Came back after 3:00 and went to room.  They did have trouble finding his notes and he was gone
Went to room and location and floor great but now queen bed but charged for king.
Overall the hotel is great cruise stay for night prior especially with shopping across street.  The staff needs to stop making excuses if having a full house and learn customer service.
By the way the pool was closed again for mechanical problems ..........

Coming into Miami for the first time two days prior to our Carnival cruise. Ruled out the South Beach hustle because we just needed a mid to high-end place to stay with a downtown feel and close to port. Checked  in today and very satisfied. We got a wonderful harbor view room on the 9th floor.
Front desk very friendly and professional, and the guest services attendant was above and beyond. The best thing is the fact that it's directly across the street from Bayside Marketplace, with dozens of places to eat and a bustling touristy vibe into the night. We capped with a sunset cruise of celebrity row which we thought was well worth the $26 each to gawk at millionaires' waterfront homes. Definite tourist guilt pleasure. (Take the smaller tour companies behind Hard Rock Cafe.) At Bayside, go to the 2nd floor food court, or people watch at the waterside restaurants. Salsa or chacha may be blaring in the background, and random dancing going on. Find Cuban fare and Presidente beer. Get gelato and then walk leisurely back to Holiday Inn. No stress but not sparse way to spend a day or two prior to cruise.

(typed on iphone...sorry for brevity in grammar.)

This is a decent Holiday Inn in a great location. I got an amazing room for a great price (midweek, off season) that was clean and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and all in all, a class act. The only less than amazing things were the sparse parking and the fact that the hotel is, perhaps, thirty or forty years old...but very nicely maintained. Get directions for parking before arriving, or else have someone circle the block while you check in.....no parking directly out front. I would definitely stay here again!

We checked in the day before our cruise. The room was on the small side, but sufficient for our trip. The location was excellent! The people mover, which was free, was a short stroll behind the hotel. There's also a McDonald's back there (love the coffee lol). The shopping area right across the street is fun and lively, there were live bands and people dancing. I would definitely stay again. Not fancy but the best location you could ask for.

This Holiday Inn is older and a bit rundown, but if you are cruising, it's very convenient to the port, is located across from Bayside Market with lots of shops and restaurants, and it's reasonably priced.  The bathrooms aren't great. The toilet and tub are weirdly very low to the ground so that could be a problem for some elderly people, there isn'much counter space and it's shabby looking.

I love the Marriot Biscayne Bay marriott.com/hotels/trav… much more but for one night this is fine.

The service was okay, but not great. The only good employees we interacted with were both valets. They charged extra for EVERYTHING! $25 per night for parking with another $5 per day in parking taxes, $3 to have a package delivered there. I can't remember all of the others but it was a lot more than expected.

Some of the staff seemed put out to help, the room was very small and the room service was horrible. We ordered French toast and eggs. Only one side of the French toast seemed cooked the other was soggy and seemed raw, they didn't bring any syrup or ketchup. It was just bad.

If those were the only negatives I would still give it 3 stars but the elevators were broken. There are 3 but from the 8th floor only the service elevator worked. The workout room was bad as the equipment was not properly maintained and the treadmill was borderline dangerous.

However, the room was clean and I appreciated the clearly marked soft and firm pillows so that earned the two stars.

Chose here because it was the most convenient to the American Airlines Arena and we were going to a concert. We were greeted as soon as the sliding door opened and directed to the front desk where Alejandro checked us in. He was extremely professional and provided us with PERFECT customer service. We stayed in the king suite and loved it. I really was impressed and would have no complaints on our stay if we didn't choose to eat at the restaurant in the lobby before going to the show. ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They should either all b fired or retrained.

Yes, it's an older hotel but the staff are top notch and outstanding for service. Makes for a classier experience. Stayed but one night prior to cruise ship boarding but story is bigger than that. First we arrived way early from airport but they gave us a room right away anyway. Next day among hussle and bussle of a couple hundred folks also leaving for cruises hotel staff got us to a preferred cab that whisked to our ship. Then it really got interesting; on board I found I had lost my credit card! A quick call to hotel as were pulling out and James Baum, Front Desk Supervisor, said yes, staff had indeed found it and had secured in office till I either returned for it or they could mail it to my home. They ended up having to mail it to me. Whew! Potential bad experence made great. Thank y'all.

This hotel is a perfect location if you're taking a cruise. The cab ride to the port is about $14! Directly across the street is a huge outdoor shopping mall with tons of stores and restaurants. Plus walk in either direction down Biscayne Blvd and there are lots of places to shop and eat... and people watch!

The room was nice, nothing too fancy but not dirty or run down. They definitely need to work out the elevator situation however. One of the elevators was out of order and the two functioning elevators have definitely seen better days. The wait time once you've called for the elevator is lengthy. They even recommend that you go down to the lobby before checkout time to avoid a wait! Some modern elevators might help take care of that whole mess.

You do have to pay to park in the lot across the street which sucks, but we took a cab so we didn't have to worry about that. Other than that no complaints. The woman at the front desk was friendly. We'll definitely stay here next time we cruise out of Miami!

Updated review: Apparently you have to pay for parking here and it is not part of the 3 option discount as a rewards member anymore. Wifi is still free. My room during this stay was kind of run down. The bathroom was small and the walls caused me to have flashbacks of my grandparents cellar. The hotel is walking distance to the local places to eat and party though. Next trip, I check out other spots.

We accidentally left a bag at the hotel before a cruise. Our ship said we may get off the ship to retrieve the bag as long as we arent gone over an hour because we were departing for thr port. When we call the hotel, they kept us on hold for 25 mintues so we couldnt leave the ship.  We ended up going without a bag full of clothes for 6 days. When we got off the ship, we went straight to the hotel to get our bag and they made us wait over 2 hours and the manager wouldnt come talk to us. All in all, worst customer service ever in a hotel and very expensive. Yes its close to the port, but its not worth it. There were 5 of us and we are already spreading the word to future people going on this ship that it is NOT WORTH IT.

But the location to the port was great and its right across from Bayside Market

Great location if you are attending an event at American Airlines Arena, just a 5 minute walk. The hotel is also across the road from Bayside, where you'll find restaurants, bars, shops, and live entertainment. Touristy, but fun. We had a 10th floor room with a great view overlooking the bay. The room was updated and clean, as was the lobby.  However, the pool is small, and the pool area is basic. The hallways need a bit of updating. This is one of the older hotels in the area, there are room pictures showing the original hotel in the 1950s. The hotel should make better use of this, it's a positive feature. We would stay here again.

Our first impression of the hotel was poor due to the fact it took nearly 2 hours to check in, having had a very long day already and wanting only to rest, but we didn't have a chance. The reception staff was rather rude about explaining things to us and I don't know if it was just because that is the normal demeanor of Miami but it was a constant sense of disdain. Ashley the man that was helping us was exceptionally rude, he snapped at us multiple times instead of helping us better. Having stayed at other hotels nearby I have to rate this one a low, the lobby is very clean and nice but the rooms are very modest and our view was especially poor, I would have rather have had a window to a wall than a bare roof. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room, unfortunately a towel was hung for us and had lipstick on it. The water in the bathroom ran hot or scolding, there was no cool water to wash your hands. The gym was well furnished but I wished they stocked the hand sanitizer instead of leaving it to stand empty. All in all I didn't enjoy the hotel all too much. There are other hotels that have nicer staff and better amenities.

So far, not impressed. They put me in the room right next to the elevators.  Walked in to see a stain on my bedspread, had to call to ask housekeeping to change it.  Still waiting for housekeeping to come by and change the gross bedspread, it's been about ten minutes. I've stayed in some nice holiday inns before, but this one seems run down and overpriced at $220 per night.

I have a feeling I am not going to be sleeping well tonight.

Got at the hotel at 4:30 pm with the dance group from Miami cruise convention! Due to the fact that we traveled from tampa and had to leave early for the convention we were all tired! I called in at around 8 am to try to get the hotel room early but the guy that I spoked with said that there is no possibility to check in early and that the closest time would be at 3 pm.

To make it short we arrived at the hotel at 4:30 pm and trying to get our 6 booked room under our directors name but  it took an hour and half for us to all check in! Slow service!

And as I used to work at a hotel if someone booked a hotel for another person you should tell them that they should have a form to fill so the card that was use will be the one that will be charge (credit card authorization form). Communication! That's the key!

Bad service! Bad group booking! Bad group reservation service!

Other wise the room was okay! But there was no view to the biscayne bay! We had a view of the building next to the hotel!
