    The suite is large, quiet and comfortable at a very reasonable price. My suite had four rooms: bedroom with TV, toilet/shower, sink/mirror, kitchen/living room.  While there may be no wireless access, the free ethernet connection on the desk at the living room was fine for me. So the place is bland--I like it as a comfortable place to wind down, sleep, or stay up late taking care of business online if needed. When I need culture, food, architecture, etc., I go out.

    Ideal for business travelers and families-on-the go, Homewood Suites offers bang for buck: roomy suites, kitchen, real tv channels, highway access, and computer center.
    My BF and I stayed here for a few days on his corporate account. Yes, it's literally across from the Miami International Airport -- and yes, it does seem like a white-bread, Extended Stays type of place. However, Homewood Suites does make an effort to make you feel at "home."

    Nice touches like an equipped kitchen -- popcorn propped near the microwave for late night snacks -- to free breakfasts/dinners in the lobby makes things convenient. The computer-room made printing boarding tickets a snap. You get real TV channels -- comedy central, MTV, VH-1, and HBO that you don't get elsewhere at other corporate hotels (I'm looking at you Hilton!). The beds are extremely comfortable.
    FYI: I couldn't find wi-fi access here so it's ethernet access provided by the hotel.

    The lobby also has an excellent fish tank where you can have fun locating the Finding Nemo fishies. In the back, the Blue Lagoon lake has huge fish that you can feed which is popular with the kiddies I saw there.

    The area is dead. The only things around are corporate buildings: Burger King, HP, etc. but the hotel does make an effort to not be too bland.

    Great place to stay as long as you don't mind driving to get good food. There is NOTHING around this hotel. We only stayed here because it was very convenient to the Miami airport and affordable.

    We got a king suite and it was really nice. Free popcorn was a great perk. Bed was extremely comfy with lots of pillows. Bathroom was clean although the shower head was really oddly high so you couldn't adjust the available massaging head.

    Hot breakfast in the morning was good, eggs, meat, hash browns, Belgian waffles, cereals, etc.

    Check out was a breeze and front desk staff were very friendly.

    My family of four has stayed at this hotel at least 5 times since August 2011. The first few stays my only complaint would have to be the food at the complimentary breakfast. Not very good to say the least, but tolerable. The rooms have always been clean and quite comfortable; the staff has been accommodating. Our last 2 stays have left a bit to be desired. Our stay in January 2012, we had room 215. The door sticks making it difficult to get in. It is right near the conference rooms and extremely noisy if there are events taking place. There was a men's conference being held. Apparently the conference room wasn't open and hall was packed with about 50 men. My family had to wade through them to get to the elevator. Most of the men were considerate, but some made comments which made my wife and my 16 yr old daughter uncomfortable. Wanted to punch whoever said something in the face but, I couldn't tell who made the comment and it probably wouldn't have been wise to do anyway. I know that's not really the hotel's fault but on our next stay in March 2012, guess what room we got....again. You guessed it, 215. No men's conference, but a lot of traffic and the door still sticks. The absolute worst was there were bloodstained sheets on the hideaway bed. It was very late when we noticed it because we attended a jazz festival that evening. The front desk was responsive but not very apologetic. Clean sheets were brought to our room fairly quickly, but the damage had been done. Bloodstained sheets are a deal breaker for me. I'll find some place else to stay on on our next trip to Miami.

    Room Tip: Avoid room in the vicinity of the conference rooms.

    Management has since contacted me, apologized and also took a night's stay off of my bill.

    I've stayed here many a time and in general it's OK.

    Pros:
    Free Full breakfast (eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, etc, etc.)
    Free Managers Reception (mon-thu) 5pm - 7:30pm this is a nice supper and includes beer and wine (not great but hey it's free!)
    Large Rooms with separate areas (room/bath/kitchen-living room)
    Free WiFi
    Near Airport
    Airport shuttle

    Cons:
    Old decor with old TVs (it really needs an update)
    Tiny pool and I've seen some iguanas from the lake in the pool area.
    Housekeeping (I've gone three days without having my room made till I asked it to get cleaned)
    Sometimes it gets so crowded that people don't fit in the dinning area for breakfast or supper. Get there EARLY.

    This hotel by far is the worst experience I have had at a hotel in a long time.   First of all there are two floors of smoking.  After specifically asking for non smoking rooms our request was denied as this "is all they had" when we got there.  We waited till 1030 pm to get the rooms we needed as they were not ready when we arrived that morning!  The hotel smells of strong "carpet fresh" powdery freshener to cover up all of the stench of smoke and mold.  The staff lacks urgency and details and the food in my opinion is questionable.  Do not stay here- it wreaks poor service with a smell! There is really nothing in close walking distance either.  You get a view of the airport runway and hear the jets landing.  This is not a good experience for a Hilton property.

    Being a Hilton Gold member we decided to stay here during our Wrestlemania trip. I was kinda let down that I didn't get any perks other than two bottles of water and a package of milano cookies, but it does vary place to place.

    The accomodations were better than I expected and they have this neat heating lamp thingy to keep you warm when you step out of the shower. The room was clean, we got a fresh set of towels (even on the day we took them all for a trip to the beach) and our other appliances were spotless.

    My friends and I stayed at this hotel for New Years since it was close to a NYE party we were going and were quite pleased with it.
    The hotel is nicely located in front of the lagoon, very quiet and peaceful. Our suite was large, very clean and it even had a kitchenette. The rate included hot breakfast in the morning from 7-10am.We weren't able to enjoy it since we woke up very late, but it was good to know we had the option nonetheless.
    Check out was a breeze. Great location if you need to stay close to the airport.

    Very friendly staff.  Convenient location.  Nice rooms.  Free breakfast not bad, and ITS FREE.  Pool was a little small, and no privacy.  Parking is free, versus Hilton down the street which charges $15 to $20 per day.

    As a highly rated BRAND hotel team member my expectations were obviously high as they are at our location.  I cannot say that I was impressed and learned that despite OUR challenges our team/property ROCKS on EVERY LEVEL!  

    The stay was OK.  Quiet.  The breakfast and dinner were pretty good.  Good place to stop through if you need to be close to the airport.  This location is within walking distance of a great shopping plaza that contains a Publix, Burlington and awesome Cuban, Italian and Chinese restaurants (if you choose not to cook).  And, as my sister said, "What Blue Lagoon?  That's black! Ewwww!"

    Unfortunately, the maintenance, kitchen and housekeeping staff did not speak one word of English (it got REALLY annoying hearing, "em, no Ingles - shrugs - I don't know?"); WHY would any property not accommodate with some service staff members that speak English - thankfully, I can speak Spanish but my sister and niece do not and found this very challenging when I was not around.  

    Maintenance had NO answers for ANYTHING that did not work and took more than 20 minutes to address each issue (e.g., DirecTV was out for an entire day during our stay and the jacuzzi did not work).  In fact, I was told on each occasion that no other guests had called to report these problems.  I see.

    DISCLAIMER:  Clearly this is my opinion and does not reflect that of others associated with the BRAND; but, someone HAS TO SAY IT.

    Check-in:  Expedient.  Upgrade provided (thank you - we appreciated it!)

    Attitude:  Fair.  Attitude changed when I discussed how to check our party in without over authorizing any credit card (as we knew we would not utilize incidentals and had no interest in waiting the 72 hour period to have remaining funds added back to our credit cards).  

    Result:  EPIC FAIL.  Unfortunately, the individual did not understand how to expedite this request by splitting the bill using "shares," which equally splits costs among guests.

    Recovery: Upon request that staff contact Visa to have additional funds removed it was done immediately - we appreciated that immensely.  :)  Heck!  We were on vacation and budgets are paramount in that situation.

    Room Condition:  Clean (minor deficiencies)

    We were upgraded to a suite with two queen beds.  GREAT.  There were three of us and it must have been obvious WE would each need our own slumber sacks.  I chose the pull out and left the family members to the two queen beds which were AMAZING.  The pull-out ... not so much.  There were stains on the cushions (which were obvious).  Sleep rating on the pull-out - eh ... I figured we wouldn't be there long (3 days) so no biggie.

    Staff:  Hmmmm ...

    Upon return from a great day in Key West (2:40 a.m.) I told my sister to go ahead to the front desk and submit her cash payment on the split bill.  The auditor told her that he didn't know how to accommodate her request and to return in the morning.  She was LIVID!  In case you are unaware, auditors are managers on duty and should command a working knowledge of all hotel functions.  They are responsible for guest safety and all financial transactions.

    Well, you guessed it, I had to go to the front desk and INSTRUCT the auditor on HOW to apply the funds and properly set up the receipt (since it was not initially done on check-in).

    I cannot say that the auditor was thrilled that I had him do some work - which he clearly demonstrated by his body language and response.  :-/  WHAT IF I WERE A DIAMOND MEMBER?  Would that have been acceptable?  I think not.

    Honestly, I personally (and, I KNOW FOR A FACT MY SISTER AND NIECE) - would not stay at this property again. *SMH*

    I've been staying here for my Miami vacation and so far so good.

    good things--

    - all American breakfast (its free and included with room purchase)
    - king size bed
    - room is divided with doors.
    - separate rooms for living room and kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom
    - AC is strong
    - All amenities included, microwave, stove, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee maker and Ice is make in fridge (no need to leave your room to get ice)
    - gym, pool
    - mini convenience store in the front if you need to buy a toothbrush, antacid meds, chap-stick, etc ..
    front desk/Employees are friendly and respectful.

    bad things--

    - they only sell beer and malt liquors, no Hennessy, Patron, or Vodka..
    - AC sometimes makes a loud noise from time to time (unusual but again its strong so it quiets down after a while)
    - gym is small (only 1 item each-- treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 weight set.. etc .. )
    - pool is outside and is small as well
    - the decor of the room looks old. not really updated
    - TV is still a box TV no flat screen
    - house keeping is only available between 9am and 3pm :'(

    Overall, I feel like I'm living in a little studio while I'm staying in this hotel. If you're going to stay here, MAKE SURE you get a good deal, I don't think Its worth paying full price for this hotel for the things they offer.

    This hotel is a bit older than the other Homewood Suites where I have stayed. It needs a little TLC, but the staff are super nice. We stayed just one night on our way to the Dominican Republic. They gave me a nice upgrade. The bed was comfortable as well.

    Went to this establishment for a company meeting.  My room was not ready until 11:00PM (check in was 3pm).  This hotel still has smoking floors available, however we specifically requested a non smoking floor and guess where my room was-yep a smoking floor.  Their response-that is all we have available, it's on a non smoking side of the floor!!!!  My room and clothing still ended up smelling like stale cigarette smoke.  Horrible attitudes from the staff, the bathroom door would not open unless you put the toilet seat up, not equipped to handle large  groups for a meeting, banquet food was horrible and undercooked-disgusting all around including their attitudes

    My work company had a 2 district meeting in this hotel. We had 32 people attend. Made the reservations a month or so out. The day we arrive, the rooms are not ready for at least half of the attendees. The accommodations were not up to standard. We asked for non smoking floors and rooms, yet some of the attendees had to take smoking rooms, which are overwhelming with smoke smell. When serving lunch we ran out of forks, and there was no more salad when not everyone had been served. You would think it a Hilton property would have done a better job. Do not stay nor make arrangements to do anything with this property. Terrible experience.

    Just returned from a business trip to Miami with three co-workers.  We LOVED this hotel!  

    There was free breakfast, a gorgeous veranda overlooking water where we could eat every morning, friendly staff, helpful managers, a prompt shuttle, and excellent housekeeping service.  

    If you are looking for an easy-going hotel experience for a group of 3+, this place is for you!

    Great customer service. Adequate breakfast bar and nice cocktail-dinner hour complete with keg beer and red and white wines.  Super friendly and helpful staff. Airport shuttle is free, and the staff is helpful in securing you a ride to and from the Port of Miami. Conveniently located near airport, Marlins stadium, and a short drive to South Beach.

    Went down during holiday week, was really understaffed and they never had enough food for breakfast. Food was awful. Room wasn't bad, but some of the dishes in the room were dirty when we got there. Elevators were slow and a few times the doors took a few minutes to open. Not a great experience during our holiday vacation.

    We stayed at this hotel in July 2014 for business and shopping. The location was perfect, but you need a car. The staff was very helpful. Maricella, waitress and cook speaking French, was very friendly, and we felt like at friends' home! The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, the beds great, luxury linen. The view is amazing! Even close to the airport, the rooms are quiet, we weren't disturbed by the planes. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and diners, the food was great! The hotel is being remodeling, we didn't have any inconvenient for that, and very soon, when remodeled, it will be even more fantastic!
    We definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there at our next trip. We stayed in several hotels in Miami, this one is the best!

    This hotel is conveniently located across from the Miami International Airport. They offer free parking here. The staff are welcoming and friendly at the front desk and the lobby is nice. We had a one bedroom suite which was adequately sized and laid out. It needed a little updating but it was still clean and served our purposes. They also had complimentary breakfast and wifi here.

    We had a great stay at this hotel while on vacation with the in-laws.  We stayed in a two-room suite which offered a small kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, and a fair amount of room to spread out.  The only drawback was one room had 2 full size beds rather than a queen/king, so one couple slept apart and probably had the best nights sleep in years!

    The location of the hotel was convenient to highways, local restaurants and stores,  but Miami traffic made going places like Miami beach or Ft. Lauderdale often (but not always) a chore during rush hour.

    The free breakfast was great and definitely helped increase the value of the hotel.  In general, the place was clean but some parts (shower, doors, furnishings) looked a bit old and needing an update. The hotel staff was very friendly but there were a few times where the it didn't seem like the room service spoke English well and that made for a few misunderstandings.  Everyone was very pleasant, however.

    All in all, I would have no problem staying here again at this Hilton property.

    I lived in this hotel for many months (work stay). I loved the staff. Everyone was really friendly and the manager helped me book a room when the hotel was sold out.  I stayed at various hotels while in Miami, but this was my favorite. It's near a limited amount of restaurants, but it's next to the highway so driving to other food spots isn't difficult. The rooms are nice sized suites and breakfast and dinner are served for free during most days of the week.  And their laundry facilities are open 24/7, unlike their sister hotel which doesn't grant access after a certain time at night.

    I'd like to start by saying that I'm not extremely picky with lodging, and I'd stay here again. I'm giving Homewood Suites a three star rating because I feel that's what the vast majority would give it. I'm not a hotel critic, neither am I hotel savy, but this will suffice for me.

    Close to MIA, Homewood Suites is located on a peninsula in Blue Lagoon along with several other hotels and Burger King University.  (Yes, there really is a Burger King University.)

    The room is a two room suite, breakfast is included, wifi and parking are free.  This hotel isn't plush.  There are lots of people staying here for longer periods of time.

    It is very comfortable and the staff is terrific.

    Great proximity from airport. The upgrade room is awesome perfect for family vacation with kids. The pool is smaller than we expected however the temps is just right in Miami. We use the stairs a lot and folks here smoke in the stair way ........ Not cool!

    Avoid this place during any holiday season. We stayed here during winter break and because of the rush service was sloppy. Evening to the front desk requesting towels, toiletries, etc were met with "Come downstairs and get it yourself." The hot breakfast and coffee kept running out- the amount of food they made would have fed  the amount of people who were actually there.

    Pro
    I would stay here again as long as it wasn't during the peak tourism season (or if I desperately had to be near the airport). The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. Rooms were clean enough. Also from the breakfast/restaurant area you can walk out onto a balcony that overlooks the Blue Lagoon, which has huge catfish and seagulls.

    It's a great location.  Clean.  Friendly day night staff,  but watch out for the next day!  
    We were supposed to check out at 12, but overslept after getting breakfast.  Upon waking up,  I call the front desk to ask for a late check-out,  if possible.  

    Honestly,  I've never experienced this type of a response from someone in the hospitality industry.  Don't get me wrong,  I worked in the industry over for 10 years,  and I understand that there is stress and overwhelming circumstances,  but you are in the hospitality environment.  Your "behind the scene"  problems can be calmly communicated to guests without making them feel like they do not want to stay at your establishment for risk of being verbally degraded.

    I would have given the establishment more stars but the way that the talks to guests is just not something that I would be willing to put up with on vacation. Hopefully they can rectify this because other than this,  it was a pleasant experience.

    Great hotel, amazing experience, Carolina at the concierge was really nice. Loved the view ! Our room was in the first floor and it was amazing!!! There is a sofa bed which is very comfortable. The beds are really comfy as well. The breakfast was delicious and there was a great variety. The room has a small kitchen and everything was clean. The spa and pool area was also clean. I would definitely go back to homewood suits.
