Cheap, close to the airport, interstates, and shopping. A great place to base a trip for island-dwellers in town for the shopping. Comfortable beds & pillows, plenty of hot water, quiet most of the time (it IS close to the airport after all): it's precisely what I want out of an inexpensive hotel.

Stayed here one night because its pet friendly and close to where we had a business meeting. It was a fine mid range hotel. Rooms were clean, parking was free, breakfast was ok, wi-fi worked, I felt safe, pool looked good but was too cold out. If I was flying out of MIA or doing business in the area again on short notice I would consider it if the price was right.

Great free breakfast, clean room.  Free parking.  No real complaints, everything was great.  Staff was friendly and fast!  Would happily stay here again.

We stayed here in december for 1 day en route our vacation on a cruise. Hotel was clean and staff were pleasant. We picked this place because of its apparent proximity to the airport. In reality, it was pretty far and on the wrong side of the airport, so it was a good 45min commute next day to our port of call. Also, we got a room which completely smelled of smoke so we asked for a change. They did change us to another, but with 2 beds instead of a single one.

I had to stay here one night due to nonavailability at my usual hotel. The hotel itself is in good condition and the grounds are very well maintained.

The reception area was very nice. The reception desk is off to one side and there are bistro tables and chairs in the middle of the room for meals.

The things I liked most about this hotel was the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful, and there is no pet fee- a big plus for me.

What I did not like was the room itself. I had a hard time connecting to the Internet, some kind of cable/modem issue, the room felt very cramped, and there was only a very small fridge and microwave. I couldn't even store my pizza box in the fridge and my pizza slice was too big for the microwave.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience here for two nights.  The hotel is very clean and features a continental (sort of) breakfast.  I guess it's in between a full breakfast and a continental breakfast.  It features, waffles, fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, muffins, stuff like that.

After a long day of sight seeing, I went down to the jacuzzi to relax my lil joints.  The jacuzzi was actually kind of cold.  Maybe 90 degrees or something.  I guess maybe they do that for safety reasons.

The beds were very comfy.  Not too soft...not too hard.  Just right.  I know we always say we won't spend any time in the hotel, but after a long day of walking and such, we like to relax a bit.

La Quinta is a decent stay (nothing more) for one night.  The hotel is filled with international travelers from the Caribbean and South America.  The breakfast is minimal and it includes bagels, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, and some juice.

The Jacuzzi was down when I was there (it had minimal jet power and was around 80F at the max temperature), the sound from the airplanes at the airport are close, frequent and loud (bring earplugs).  The rooms are clean and decent overall.

Again, this place is only worth a one-night stay if you need something close to the airport.  I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than that.

We stayed at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Miami Airport North but I don't see it listed.
However, it really does not matter as I have experienced the same issue in all the La Quinta's I stayed.

Overall a very nice hotel, clean rooms, nice beds usually close to the airport and freeway.
The one thing, also mentioned by others, the breakfast STINKS! In each hotel the same: over crowded rooms with hungry travelers, NOWHERE to sit, NEVER enough food, changing to lower quality foods i.e. cream cheese now a no brand batch of yuck, and most of the time ran out way earlier then the breakfast times scheduled.
This time there was among many other things NO milk for cereal. According to the staff the milk was bad! Really.

Just don't offer breakfast and keep a better reputation. Besides your WIFI is embarrassingly slow. That's why I voted for only 2 stars.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!! We stayed at this place because of great ratings online. The ratings MUST have been paid for. DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY HOTEL!!! Maybe the place used to be clean 2 years ago but is horrible now in 2015. There were stains all over the carpet in the main hall just after the lobby. The elevator was dirty and had trash and candy wrappers stuck to the ceiling for 2 days of our stay. The rooms have no bathroom fans. There was a huge brown stain in the tub and black MOLD in the caulking (very dangerous). The toilet handle leaked water onto the floor when flushed. Unknown splatter on the walls, lamp shades, and tv! The AC unit in the room worked but had pieces of plastic broken off and visible in the unit and was horribly loud. The air filter on the AC unit obviously has not ever been changed. We both still have a cough from inhaling whatever it was pumping out into the room. Very unclean find ANYWHERE ELSE to stay. Also no heated pool.  The only thing this place has going for it, is that you can leave!

No early check in, no exception.... I would have gladly paid $50 more to check in a couple hours early... If I could've canceled I would have.

This past weekend, I stayed at this La Quinta Inn location.
If we did not have dogs with us, we would not be staying here.  I would just like to get that out of the way.  Not many other hotels accept animals for no additional fee, so we are very pleased with that.  The staff at the front desk were very fast and courteous.  The check-in and out process was very quick.  No additional copies of photo ID or scan of credit card needed.  Just the room keys and that is all.

They were heavily booked, with most parking spaces taken up.  There is a rear and side entrance available with a working room key.  However, we found that it was very difficult to get the room keys to work.  This was an issue at the front desk with many other customers; there were many people complaining and returning room keys.

The rooms are recently renovated and bedding clean.  However, they should consider cleaning around the perimeter of the room and behind the beds, because it was very dusty and overall gross looking.

My main complaint is the elevator.  It is old, buttons worn off, and extremely slow.  A very large hotel with only one slow-barely-working elevator is an issue.  We were on the 6th floor, so we felt the most of it.  I hope that they fix or replace the elevator soon.  It is a hot mess.

Ummmmm....yeah.  Many people were complaining about the breakfast.  We did not even get near it, it was totally mobbed, really buck wild--- like seriously, someone will elbow you in the face for this food.  It was totally not worth the pain or struggle to get some waffles.  So, we went to the Burger King down the street.
