I was really surprised at the rate I got needing a last minute hotel while stuck in Miami.  I was inquiring prices but also asked when I could check in and they said "immediately" so I wouldn't have to wait closer to 3pm to actually check in coming off a cruise at 9am. The reservation assistant quoted me $96 with my rewards card. We were unable to locate my number in the system so I mention I was a AAA member and she said "oh, that will save you some more money, I check out this morning for $88 out the door with taxes and fees.  I found it very interesting their own rewards plan doesn't give the best rate tho.  The place is newly remodeled and hosts a sports bar called Champions and restaraunt/bar called Cane Fire.  The room was clean, cool and comfortable.  My only complaint is the down comforter on the bed with no other blanket. You literally cannot get the room cold enough to actually sleep comfortably under the comforter and most other places with these usually have a thinner blanket in the closet. As with all Marriott properties it seems there is a staff member around every corner greeting you or asking if you need assistance, it can be helpful or annoying if you are trying to have a quiet morning or are not a morning person.  Overall the stay was great and they do run a shuttle service every 15 minutes to and from the airport.

This Marriott has a wonderfully remodeled entry and restaurant/ bar area on the ground floor. Once you go up the elevator to your room it is a whole other story. A story that was apparently told in the 1980's. Yet, the room was clean, the hotel close to the airport, and the pool was nice. Overall, it was just another Marriott right off the interstate.

not bad, but not great. i stayed here with my family for a few nights before getting on our cruise. this location is one of those old hotels renovated inside to look new and nice. can't really complain, since that's becoming a norm with a lot of older marriott/sheraton hotels.

i thought it was interesting that they had 3 marriott brands located literally in the same area. when i went to the gym one morning, i needed to walk over to the courtyard marriott, and also noticed that there was a residence inn marriott right next door.

overall, didn't really have any issues here. wifi in the rooms are not free, but wifi in the lobby is free and they also have a few computer stations you can use at no charge.

lobby is nice looking, the staff that i happened to encounter were all very friendly. the restaurant inside the hotel (cane fire grill) is expensive and the quality of the food isn't really anything to brag about.

first hour of parking is free if i remember correctly, which was nice since i have a cousin in town who dropped us off/picked us up and could park for a bit without having to pay.

overall, standard airport hotel - nothing spectacular, but very convenient if you're needing to get to and from miami international airport or the port of miami.

Decent rooms, bad staff at the bar. The concierge lounge is poor but in general Marriott concierge lounges are worse than Hilton's. They go cheap in these lounges. Pool area is kind of ghetto. Gym is big and nice ( a bit smelly though).

A great hotel to squeeze 1800 people 4 to a room. My company was attending a convention at the American airline arena this pass weekend. Even tho the hotel was about a good 10-15 mins drive to the arena. I have to applauded Marriott for handling the amount of people we had. I know we drove staff crazy and made tons of noise coming back from whatever club/bar/lounge at nite. But, you handle us like a pro and kept a smile for the whole weekend.

However, if I were to come on vacation I would not stay here.

Stayed here over Christmas break for one night before our cruise. This Marriott has a few other Marriott branded hotels on the same property. The complimentary shuttle picked us up at MIA and that took quite a while since it kept making stops to drop people off and pick people up (perhaps they should have more shuttles running). We arrived around 10PM and ate at Champions next door at the Courtyard Marriott and it was pretty good with very fair prices for a hotel restaurant  but the service was on the slower side. Eating there still was the best option considering how late we arrived and there wasn't much walking distance near the hotel. The room was below my expectations for a Marriott. It really was just a basic hotel room that needs renovations but it was still clean, you could tell the shower was on the older side. It basically just served its purpose for staying over for a night. The staff were helpful. There is free WI-FI in the lobby but there is a charge if you want it in the room. Overall, if you are looking for a place to stay for a night or so, this hotel will serve its purpose but its definitely not a luxury hotel.

We have had better. After I had to complain for 2 days about things, I got to enjoy it a little more. Not anything special about this place. If you have money to do a little better then I would. It is a hub for people to stay. Hub? For over night people staying and maybe a few hours. Not something for 3 days or more. The cleaning staff were great and very helpful!

Rooms are nice.  Good bar area.  Decent workout rm.  Stored a bag and some clothes in the front valet storage rm for a few days while I was away in the Caribbean and one of the shirts got ripped off. The mgr did reimburse me the cost of the shirt.

The airport shuttle was incredibly slow. It took us 45 minutes to get to the hotel.
The hotel decor in the lobby is quite modern.
The "Canefire" restaurant is disappointing. Service was very slow.
The food was mediocre. I had Ahi Tuna which was overcooked (I asked for medium-rare, got well done). They use coolwhip instead of real whipped cream on the deserts (ugh).
The rooms are ok but rather dated.
There's a real Starbucks (not a fake "we proudly brew" one) in the lobby.

The lobby was nice... and the rooms were nice.  But my reservation was messed up, and a maid tried to enter the room at 11pm.  Free airport shuttle is nice.

This hotel is very comfortable for a business trip and I would have rated it higher if not for the items stolen in my room. I left tip for the cleaning lady but I have an uncomfortable feeling she did not receive it. Someone with access to the rooms is stealing items. My company is sending teams of 6-10 people a week down to this hotel for a special project. My coworker also said someone tried to enter her room while she was sleeping. During my last stay in June, I had two jeans, two dresses and a top stolen from my suitcase in the room. I didn't realize it was missing until I got back home. I did not check-in a bag so it was definitely at the hotel. Plus I distinctly remember placing the items in my bag the day before I left. I called the hotel to complain and got placed on hold and hanged up on several times.

This Marriott has the appearance of being the complete package.  However, the "girls" that work the front desk are completely clueless.  When we arrived at the airport, I called this Marriott to arrange a shuttle. They told me to look for the red and white Marriott shuttles.  Well, they actually weren't running that day.  Then, upon leaving the next morning the "girl" up front messed up our shuttle and we had to wait an hour in the lobby.  Very poor customer service!!

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip and the hotel was very nice and comfortable but I had money stolen from my purse while it was in my room. I left my purse on the floor of the room and I had put my cash in it because I wasn't going to need it. When I got back to the hotel after my first day staying there, my purse was up on the desk which I didn't think was a huge deal, they had to clean so I figured they had to move it. When I went to look for my money 3 days later, I noticed it was gone. The hotel security ensured me that it had not been stolen and that the second day that my room had been cleaned, the cleaning lady asked for security to watch her clean my room because she was "uncomfortable" since my purse was in there. To me that shows that she was uncomfortable because had security not been there she would have done something. This was the second day that I was there though and my purse was  moved on the first day that I was staying there.

Hotel security refused to refund my money and after I told him that my company was paying a lot of money for me to stay there he just said "I'm sorry ma'am."

A colleague of mine said that her jacket got stolen from her room.

A very nice experience and ending to the WORST VACATION EVER!  Scheduled to fly out of San Jose CA to Miami on Sunday, Sep. 28, 2014, with a connection in Los Angeles.  Our departing flight was 35 minutes late, when arriving in Los Angeles the announcement was that we were landing, BUT the US Airways terminal is not in the main terminal, that we would be bussed to the main terminal.  DAMN!  We get on the bus, drive on the tarmack, stopping for every luggage truck, arrive at the main terminal and run to the American Airlines gate for Miami.  We miss the connection, get put on a later flight.  Arrive Monday morning . . . NO LUGGAGE!  So, we spend 5 days on the cruise and finally get our luggage on the 5th and last day of our cruise.  Nice.  We booked this hotel for a 1 night stay and this was the only POSITIVE experience of our vacation from hell.  Everyone we had contact with from the bell men, concierge and front desk, were very nice, professional and courteous.  Beautiful lobby area, clean and quiet room, perfect end to a week of anger, frustration and stress.  If we ever make it back to Miami, this will the hotel we stay at.  Oh, one more thing, if you need a taxi, they have them waiting across the parking lot in their valet area.  We had THE BEST driver, Roberto Diaz.  Hope you are lucky enough to get him as a driver.   THANK YOU ALL for the one nice experience we had during this vacation.

I spent several nights recently there as I was always pleased. Granted this is not the best location, but I needed to be close to the airport so that being said, this Marriott hit the spot. Large gym, nice pool, great concierge lounge, amazing staff, starbucks on site and very good restaurant (as far as it could go) downstairs. All of that for less than $130 in Miami, there is nothing more to say. The highway takes you to downtown or Sobe in 15min if no traffic.

Special thanks to the manager who brought me a nice 1/2 chardonnay bottle as a platinum guest. This is what i called first class customer service!

This is a giant Marriott complex- with a bunch of different Marriott hotels.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott. Great business hotel. Clean, quiet, free wifi. Dennis at the front desk was highly professional and provided us great customer service. He even recommended a shuttle that runs every hour down to Miami Port so we could catch our cruise ship.

Nice stay. Great choice to be near the airport, near Little Havana, near the port.

The bathroom didn't have a fan which was weird for me, so it would get all fogged up and no where to let out the humidity! Also, the local cabs don't take credit cards (???) so we dashed into the hotel to get to the ATM... only to find it was out of cash! We ended up having to walk over to the next hotel (with the durn meter still running) to use the ATM in the other Marriott's lobby.

Staff at the front desk were great though- from calling us a cab to dinner recommendations to local tourism suggestions.

Great place to stay near the airport, a couple of minutes away. This is a Marriott complex with a Marriott, Courtyard and Residence Inn all in the same area.  They have a shuttle that starts at 5am to the airport.
Staff was wonderful including Ralph the bellman, Susan Sanchez the restaurant manager and Gilberto who also worked in the restaurant.
It is nice to be well taken care of and appreciated.

Great hotel for the location and shuttle to
The Miami port ($11 pp)... Room was clean and comfy. Only downfall
Would be the DINNER STAFF.., there was no
Order when or where to sit. Would of been nice to have a sign or someone directing you. Then we sat down and waiting for 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge you while 3 of the waiting staff sat behind the bar starring at you then walking
By multiple times. Then asking for any condiments for your fries...forget it you'll see the other help just starring at a wall after you asked her..,needless to say we got nothing...we had 2 nights of this.
The breakfast was awesome!!! Great service and food!

They really need to work on night crew.

Came here for a charity event.  This hotel is quite old and you can tell by the decor. I really like Marriott property's usually.  This one needs some major renovations.  A huge bonus is how clean it is though.  Our banquet room where the event was held was like being back in the 70's. Before going in we did stop at the bar and the bartender was friendly, prices were high.

The staff in the hotel were all friendly and the food that we sampled from the restaurant inside the hotel was just OK.  Nothing special at all, almost tasted like cafeteria food.  In the general area of the airport I think you can find nicer hotels to stay in.

But we had our own liquor that we were sneaking on the cruise, so we just drank that.. Turn Up~

As a Marriott Platinum I stay here often but it is one of my least favorite properties. The pool area is great to sit out and work or just lounge. They do have a nice gym that they share with the Courtyard.

The rooms are old and tired.  The bar area is not very appealing. The Airport Hilton is a big step up.

Me and my husband stood at this location. We loved it! It smelled a lil musky when we first walked in, that was my only issue. But it wasn't like an overwhelming musky, after a while we didn't smell it. My husband actually didn't even smell anything haha, maybe it was just me. The room was SOOOO cozy! I didn't want to get out of bed the next day. Our view was amazing. Its in a nice area and very close to the airport. The staff had a very dry personality. The restroom was very clean. OVERALL GREAT STAY. I would deff re-book. OH and the restaurant downstairs was VERY good. The people in the restaurant were very welcoming and nice.

While waiting to check in, a group of the front desk clerks friends came in.  As soon as Javier checked in the guest in front of me, he proceeded to move over to a different computer and check in his friends .  He put me in a crappy room by the elevator which, through some research, I found out us the smallest room on the property ( he showed me....).  Andrew, the front end manager wasn't much help other than throwing points at me.  As a platinum guest with half a million points, 5000 is not going to make me a happy customer. Concierge lounge access wasn't offered until I called to ask.  Highly suggest that you avoid the Marriott .   They don't cater to business guests, they are after cruise guests and South Americans ... Can't wait to check out tomorrow and go to the Hilton ...

I only used the parking services to the airport. I had come into town for a new job assignment, and was asked to fly out on business before I could secure housing. This left me in the situation of having allot of personal property that I would have to leave in my vehicle. I felt this would fine as it's a gated property with a guarded entry/exit point. This was not the case as my vehicle was broken into (very professionally, as it was a Hummer H 2) and what is disturbing about the situation is all windows are tinted, and the only way to view inside is through the front windshield, which is where I was told to put the parking permit for the person checking these permits. I can then only assume this was an inside job do to all the circumstances.

This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experiences. My sister, brother, and I had a 2 room reservation for 2/26/14, but the hotel overbooked us. When we arrived at 12:45 a.m., they told us this and that we would have to be sent to the red roof inn. Despite having had this reservation for weeks and having a car scheduled to pick is up at 6 a.m., we were sent to the red roof inn. There we waited 45 minutes for the Marriot to send the necessary paperwork for us to check in. However, during this time, we found out they had only given us 1 bedroom, despite our reservation for 2 rooms, with 2 double beds for 3 people. Very little was done to make up for this extreme inconvenience.

Please do not stay here, as you will have no idea whether the rooms you have reserved and put a deposit on are actually honored.

I love to stay with Marriott, The Decoration was warm feeling,  And the location was excellent - 5 star,

Parking - they charge $17/night for parking, and offer free shuttle - 5 star (Free parking for Platinum member, good to belong),

but the shuttle bus driver is terrible.- 1 star for the driver.

Service of Staff - 5 Star,  I use mobile check-in and it was nice, smooth, and fast.  People Was very friendly and helpful

Gym- Nice gym for work out except to tired to work out.  Did not have chance to use it.

Room is average, but comfortable.  Concierge Lounge can use some improvement. - 3 Star

Great customer service!  I realized after my departure from Miami that I was missing one of my very favorite (and expensive) gold and diamond earrings.  I had no idea where I'd lost it but had hoped that perhaps I'd left it in my hotel room.  I called the Marriott...gave them the info and figured the chances of ever hearing from them again were slim and none.   I was shocked when I actually received a call from the Marriott loss prevention (Dwayne) to tell me that they had my earring!  Kat (who has been with the hotel 25 years) could't have been nicer and more helpful.  Thank you to housekeeping as well for being so honest.  My earring is on it's way back to me via UPS.
I also love the rooms here along with the extra comfortable beds!

New "online" checkin - it should pull an elite upgrade room when you check in. It didn't. Doesn't anyone care about doing a good job anymore?  And the TVs here are HDTVs connected to some horrible low-res cable service. And forget about using your Chromecast. They have all of the buttons on the TV "nonfunctional" so they can sell their movies, which don't appear to be HD either.

Just hope nothing else is terrible.

The hotel is ok. The rooms are very outdated with old furniture and old bathrooms. The carpeting is gross. It looks like the rooms were decorated in the 90's.  They have a free airport shuttle which is convenient but if you park your car, it can be pricy. We recently stayed at the airport Hilton and if we need to stay at the Miami airport again we will choose the Hilton. The rooms at the Hilton are much bigger and more modern.

The hot tub was awesome. Otherwise I would never book here again.  It's very overpriced for what you're getting. My biggest issue is being charged for parking.  $17 for one night. Unfortunately I wasn't the one who booked, I would never pay $200/night for a hotel near the airport without parking,  internet, and continental breakfast included. Better off staying elsewhere if you want a good deal.

We chose not to stay down at the beach for our pre-cruise stop in Miami. With the cruise night stop package where they offer a free transfer to the cruise terminal the following day, this Courtyard property offered everything that we needed. A very busy place with so much traffic going in and out, the hotel managed to keep everything under control. This is a very large Marriott property with many extras to offer. The hotel offers the best location to the airport with a free shuttle transfer and a very efficient transfer option to the cruise terminal. This package is very hard to beat for value.
Bonus: The breakfast buffet the following morning was excellent and way worth it.
Courtyard & Marriott and Residence Inn are all on the same property.

Three night stay.  The price seemed fine.  The bed was comfortable (firm).  The pillows were comfortable (not overstuffed or too firm).  The room was clean.  The staff were friendly and helpful.  The restaurants are pretty good and not overpriced.  The breakfast buffet is varied and worth eating.  There's a Starbucks in the lobby.  It's right next to the airport and has a free airport shuttle.  The wifi has been rock solid, though it's an extra cost.  And most importantly, there haven't been any noises keeping me awake or waking me up in the middle of the night.  It's been a great stay.  I wish all my hotel stays were this smooth.

I honestly can't see where the bad reviews come from. I thought this place was pretty nice.  Not upscale,  but it's a Courtyard.

The front desk employees were super friendly and made me feel very welcome.  I told them when I arrived that Southwest lost my luggage and my trip was starting out bumpy.  To ease some of the frustration I was upgraded to a suite, even though it wasn't their fault my luggage was lost. In my opinion that an example of great customer service.  I was also compensated with tooth brushes and other toiletries.

The room was not dated at all. It was pretty modern and very clean. Decor is not necessary a deal breaker for me cleanliness is.

My only con was upon checking in there were only two people working the front desk so we had to wait a bit longer than I'd prefer.  Other than that I would have given them 5 stars.

I moved here from another Marriott I stayed at in weeks past so that I could get that more upscale experience and the standard Marriott bed you find in most full service Marriots...  Well... in all it's a little disappointing.

Parking was easy, and the price was about what I was paying at my previous hotel.  It's part of a complex of Marriott properties that all share the unattended parking entrance.

This place starts off with a lot of potential for an older building.  The lobby seems to have gone through a recent renovation, and boasts a wide open bar and what appears to be a complete Starbucks (although it is actually run by the Marriott, you can use your card for purchases, and that's a positive).  The service at the desk is fast and friendly, and I was off to my room in short order.

The first thing of note is that all the signs say the Concierge Room is on the 7th floor of the building I was staying in.  In fact, the room has been moved into the lobby opposite the bar.  I am not sure why the signs have not been update when it is clear that a lot of work went into building out an upscale concierge room.  The downside is that the ceiling is open to the bar, and so all the ambient noise makes the room seem more institutional than a place to crash and have a cookie after work.  The staff also seems to be absent most of the time I'm in there.

Breakfast is served as part of the main hotel restaurant buffet and omelet bar.  This is very similar in concept to another hotel I used to live at in Chicago Oakbroak, but the similarity is only in feature and not in delivery.  I can't quite describe what is lacking, if its the soggy bacon or the dry eggs... or perhaps the long walk and having to open a door to get your food to your table...

The rest of the hotel need some updating, but I could easily live with it.  The room itself was comfortable and as "Marriott" as they come...  but the Bed.  The one thing that I count on when I stay in a full service property, is basically the same crappy bed I was trying to get away from by upgrading to this hotel.  I can't excuse that.

If the bed wasn't so disappointing, I'd be rating this place at about 4 stars for friendly staff and an upscale feel (at least from the lobby to the elevator).  But I'm lost on the bed.  If not for the Starbucks right there on site that saves me having to park on the miracle mile for my morning fix, this place would be 2 stars.  Someone here needs to go to the "Shop At Marriott" site and order some new beds and linens.
