Enjoyed two nights at the Marriott Biscayne Bay - overall, the visit was great, and I was pleased with the service we received.

Location:  The hotel is right downtown on the water - definitely reserve a bay view room on the 25th floor or higher.  Spectacular views of the bay and South Beach! Zip across the bridge (toll: $1.50) to South Beach.

Room:  The room had one incredibly comfortable king size bed, a sliding glass door that opens to let the bay breeze in.  Not a very large room, but adequate.  Nicely furnished and decorated.  Clean.  However, for the very picky, note that the walls, carpet, etc , seemed a little old and tired.

Amenities:  Hotel pool is ok - nothing spectacular.  Lots of shops and food options on the lower level - as the Marriott is attached to the DoubleTree next door.  
*Internet access cost $12/day, which in a $350 a night hotel room seemed a bit absurd to me. Valet parking was $28/day, which was worth it considering the self-parking in the garage was $24/day.

Service:  As I have always experienced with Marriott, the service was great.  Friendly, helpful staff.  Especially the valet parking attendants and Jose the bell hop.  

Nice touches: upon our arrival they took the car and gave us cold bottles of water.  Inside the hotel lobby every day there is ice water flavored with different fruits and/or herbs.  Very refreshing!

Would definitely stay again.

Unlike other reviews, I really didn't have a problem with this hotel.  I've stayed here twice, the night before The Rock Boat (see my Rock Boat Review).  The front desk was very friendly and helpful, the hotel is spacious and clean with a nice workout room, restaurant, liqueur store, deli/market, two beautiful patios, pool and hottub.  Yes, it's pricey but it's a nice Marriott in Miami...that's expected.  I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. First of all we arrived super early before noon and we were given a room within an hour. The room itself was very nice, small like others have said but recently renovated. The bed was so comfy that we overslept the next morning. The view was rather spectacular too, a direct view of Biscayne Bay. The location is very easy right off the freeway and it takes 5 mins to get to South Beach. Nice touches included the Bath and Body works toiletries and the nice shower head.  The only thing I didn't like was the $30 valet charge but it was convenient with our coming and going. I think for the price ($55 on priceline) this was a good deal. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs a one night stay before or after a cruise vacation.

I had a much different experience than Shannon L when it came to the bellhop. Upon our arrival (with big bags for a meeting that we were hosting in the same hotel), we had to chase down our own luggage cart and then wait FOREVER before an actual Bellhop came by to offer his assistance. After that, he ended up ditching us once again so we just stole the cart (which later made the Bellhop very angry, but what were we going to do?).

We worked with the sales office and lined up a block of rooms for our meeting attendees. One (pretty major) request that we made was that everyone have a room with a king-sized bed. We ended up majority double beds. I don't mind, but some of our peeps definitely did.

My desk chair was broken (when I sat down it, it sank to the floor and please, I'm not THAT hefty), the bathroom floor was strangely sticky (SCARY), the water pressure was that of a drizzle, room service ended at 11pm, there is VERY little cell reception throughout the entire hotel (but especially near the conference rooms which was a problem) and they don't even have a shower cap! I ended up leaving a note for the housekeeping and my chair was replaced. That was really cool.

Don't get me wrong, I'm usually not a hotel snob or a hotel complainer. I LOVE staying in a (usually) clean place with complimentary toiletries and decent cable... But I have to vent somewhere! The breakfast room service was pretty delicious, though always request it 15 minutes before the time that you actually want it. That way it will be there when you're ready.

Oh - and yes, the beds were VERY comfortable. Yay! I hate waking up in a hotel with a bruised hip.

The lobby looks nice and that's where it ends. My sink is falling out. My tv doesn't work properly. The rooms are tired and dated. I hope they don't consider these updated. And who doesn't offer wireless internet in 2011. I'm not talking about for a fee, it's not offered at all. We were warned about the place and should have heeded them.

Very dissappointed. The front desk girl (Mosse, perhaps?) upon arrival was plain rude and not helpful at all. When I got to my room dragging my bags, i was surprised to find that the housekeeping did not clean the washroom at all from the previous guest.  After I called three times, a maid shows up and cleans the bathroom with guests towels!! AMAZING!

My " Do not disturb" sign at the door was not enough for the houskeeping to come in and leave a complimentary bottle of water, after all.

This property needs a total makeover of customer service.
Will not go back there.

My husband and I stayed here when we came down for the Orange Bowl the beginning of January (Go Hokies!). my hubby is a frequent traveler and platinum with Marriott, so we had a concierge level room. The view from the concierge lounge was dynamite, floor to ceiling windows overlooking South Beach. Our room was Marriott standard, super comfy bed, flat screen, deck overlooking the bay. Served our purposes well and was nice to have the breakfast in the morning and cocktail service at night. Not a ton of stuff in walking distance. We drove wherever we wanted to go. Hotel just underwent a multimillion dollar reno, and it shows. Only complaint was just two towels in the bathroom!! Grr! I need a towel for my hair! Easily rectified with a quick call to the front desk. All in all, a pleasant stay!

I was just recently married at the Marriott Biscayne Bay on 4/30/11. I was excited to be married there because they had the new renovation and I could have a ballroom overlooking the bay. But that is where the good news stopped! The sale manager/wedding consultant there Miguel was horrible!!!! He is as sweet as can be to your face and then does something completely different behind your back!! He was completely incompetent and unprofessional. He would NEVER return my calls and would take 3 days to email me back! All he would say was that he was too busy and had to prioritize! He would NEVER appologize and even had the nerve to say I have gotten the most attention than any other bride! RIDICULOUS! There were several times we had a phone appointment set up and he still didn't call!

Well I thought things would get better when the wedding came, but they didn't! He did not finalize some details until the day before the wedding!!! AND still had some not set! He was supposed to be in touch with me the day of the wedding and cordinating the day. Well we were informed by the staff at the Marriott that he may not be in on the day of our wedding!! BUT he showed up at 4 pm!!!! RIDICULOUS!!! He did not do anything the day of the wedding!!!!!!!! My bridal party and mother had to run around and finalize everything BECAUSE HE WOULDN"T!!!! In addition, I did not see him AT ALL the day of the wedding! And I had to cordinate everything with the reception for timing including dances, toasts, cake cutting, and bouquet toss.

My wedding at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay could not have been more perfect!  From start to finish my Catering Sales Manager and my Event Manager worked together tirelessly to make sure that my vision became a reality.  My guests staying in the hotel were treated like royalty, from check-in and throughout, and all of my guests raved about the food at the reception!  The venue was absolutely beautiful, looking out over the water for both the ceremony and the reception.  Most importantly, on the day of, I didn't have to lift a finger - I had absolute confidence that everything would run smoothly because of my confidence in our Event Manager.  And it did!  I would highly recommend this hotel for brides, or anyone!

Marriott Biscayne Bay altered my wedding venue with only one disappointing option - my original choice being halved in size without any notification, no longer able to accommodate my guests.  

I have been planning my wedding for over a year and the first thing I chose was my venue to ensure I would have a memorable location - being promised a modern ballroom overlooking the bay.  My wedding is only several months away now and I was just recently informed that the ballroom was remodeled to a much smaller size.  I was given the options of a refund or upgrades - these still requiring a deposit $20,000 upfront, and with my wedding being so close I have been unsuccessful in securing an alternate wedding venue with such short notice with the same prices.  

Dealing with the Marriot has been exceedingly difficult and disappointing and I will now also be spending one of the most memorable days of my life in a shoddy, windowless room.  I offer this advice to any future brides in search of a wedding venue - under no circumstances should you select this one.

It's easy to get lost in the shuffle with Marriot, but the nights start adding up.  I enjoy this hotel more than any other choices in the downtown area for the price.  It's solid, and the staff are extremely helpful.  They really go out of their way to provide you with more than the attention anybody deserves.  Catching a cab to downtown is easy and quick and hey, they have a beer pong table.  What more could you ask for?

this review is a little little late I stayed here 7/2008

I Stayed here cause we had an extra day before our cruise and our travel agent got us a decent deal on the room. Anyway my wife and I get there about maybe 2 hours before check in and to my horror we had to wait because no room was ready. The first time in my life I had to wait to have a room be ready. Anyway the lobby was nice and a baseball game was on so it kept me entertained. The room was ready 1/2 hour later than check in time. So we go in the room was basic, too bad the view to the city only included rooftops and other hotels with no views of the beach. I did not care due to the fact I was going to go on a cruise.

The place was a maze itself to get to the parking lot to get items from the car which had to be valet cause there was no self parking. The price of it was 24 bucks kind of overpriced then again there is a lack of parking in this area. Going back to my maze experience it took me about 4 tries to get to the parking lot. Finally find it thank god I was going nuts.

Overall the room was nice and the area was nice and the AC was great cause it was a very hot and humid day I spent there.

This hotel is terrific. It has great views of the water and Miami Beach across the water. Even in the exercise gym which, incidentally, has great equipment. A good breakfast room on the 26th floor. Oh, and did I mention the views?

But the best part is the employees. I don't know how they do it, but everyone we came into contact in every arena -- from front desk to bellman to cleaning staff -- was friendly and helpful. They helped us get to the famous restaurant Joe's Stone Crab. They told us what time of evening to go and how to avoid an hour and a half wait. Both bell captains, Jean and Jose, not only took care of our luggage, but were also knowledgeable about the city.

The hotel has free computers  for printing out airline and cruise tickets. We were assisted greatly by the desk staff, with this and other matters.

The rooms were clean,  with comfortable beds and had balconies so you could, yes, take in the view.

Highly recommended place in downtown Miami which could have otherwise seemed like a concrete jungle.

(Overall grade:  A-). The hotel was in a good downtown location, right next to the bay. The bellhop was friendly and volunteered information regarding the hotel and city.

The room was nice with two double beds, newer carpeting, newer bedding, and bayside windows. The beds were very comfortable! So comfortable that I looked to see what brand mattress it was. It wasn't a brand I recognized, so  I forgot the name already.

The gym looked okay, with several different cardio machines and some weights. Of course we know we cannot expect much from a hotel gym.

Overall, I really liked my stay here and would return again.

This hotel is significantly a better value then the ones on the beach if you are attending a special event downtown. The rooms have been recently upgraded and many have a great view of the Bay. You can also take the MetroMover which is free to American Airlines Arena or walk to the Adrienne Arscht Center.

Parking is 30 per day and if you don't have a car, then you will need to pay for a cab to get to Miami Beach which is about $25 both ways.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable.  We only stayed one night since we were leaving for a cruise the next day.  The view of downtown Miami and the bay was incredible.  It was definitely a great way to start off our vacation.  There were a couple bars available by the sky walk.  The Blue Moon was pretty chill and there's another one a level down from there that was a lot of fun and had good food too.  

Continental breakfast consisted of semi-stale raisin bread, whole apples and oranges and coffee.  What's worse, is you have to walk by where they're serving an $18 buffet which smelled fantastic and make the decision to either pay for that or eat old bread and fruit.

However if you don't want to spend the 18 bucks on breakfast  there are a few restaurants, also available via the sky walk that serve breakfast for a reasonable price.

If you want to order food but don't want to order from the hotel restaurant, make sure you go down to the front desk or call down there for menus of different places they recommend.  We kind of got scammed by someone that slipped a menu under our door.  They sent us really sucky food and screwed up half the order.  It was bad, but that's something to be prepared for when you get there.  

It's not too far from the port.  Just a super shuttle ride away.  All in all, besides the food scam, it was really nice stay.  I would definitely recommend this hotel.  Really nice and very comfortable!!

I have taken approximately fifty work trips during the past two years and I have stayed in many hotels.  This stay has been - and I say 'has' because I am still here - one of the best experiences.  I arrived four hours before check in and the room was not ready, nor should it have been, but the reception found me an alternative room so I could get in and change for my first business meeting.  At breakfast, I stood to look around for a napkin and an unseen manager saw me looking around and came over immediately to ask if I needed anything.  Incredibly attentive to every need.

Beds are comfortable, very comfortable.  My room was clean and well appointed.  It is true that you feel a little nickel and dimed at first in the business center at forty cent per minute but they didn't charge for my 36 pages of printing, which balances out in the end.

For business or pleasure, this is a great place to stay.

Room was nice and clean.  I was on the 19th floor facing the marina and the city, which provided for a nice view.  Bathroom is nice, but small and the room was kinda small too. The bed was SUPER comfortable. Also, there was a nice LG flat screen TV.  Overall, it was a really nice hotel.  I'd definitely stay here again.  (Oh, and the parking garage kinda sucks)

Easy hotel to find from the airport, quoted $30./day upon arrival to park my car, checked in with relative ease and got to the room that was set to 72 - too warm for a Miami sun streaming through the windows afternoon.  The bathroom was small and the towels were thin. Did have an upgraded flat screen TV but no wireless?!  How can this still exist in 2012?  The cord provided did not work at all so I had to work all day sitting downstairs in the lobby - definately not a preferable solution.  I went down to the lobby restaurant bar - horrible fish smell permiates the entire lobby/restaurant/elevator area.  The wine selection wasn't bad and I ordered fish (of course) - $34. for mahi mahi...It was way over cooked and tough so I tried to send it back. The bartender suggested the paella and he was right, it was good.  The crispy thin bread type basket they provide is tasteless and stale - ask for real bread if you want it. The best part of the evening was the pole dancer who came in after she got off work, looking for more work.  She gave two guys shoulder massages at the bar and then they all moved to the sofas so she could continue with lap dances.

So the two stars are for the iPod radio, flat screen TV and pillow top mattress.  They lost three stars for the bad food, bad fish smell, no wifi and that I had to climb over the toilet to get into the shower (really).

Stayed here during Phish's 2009 NYE run and enjoyed the stay. Room service did their thing, our room was nice but SMALL. I know it's Miami, but for that price, give us a bit more leg room. Not sure if the room description said balcony when we were booking, but it's about a two-inch balcony, just so you don't think you can chill out there.
The customer service girl at the front desk was not very helpful upon check in. She didn't activate our room keys so we could use the parking lot, so we had to go down there twice. Only two of the four room keys worked..after we brought them all down to the desk to be re-activated.
Just minor annoyances during an otherwise pleasant stay.
The bartender at the pool was super cool, definitely the guy you want to deal with after a long night.
He made a fabulous Bloody Mary and oddly didn't even mind the wookies huffing balloons in the hot tub....

I have stayed here 10-12 times through my employer. I have had to change rooms 3 different times. Twice due to noise and once due to the (non) cleanliness of the room. The staff here is not very friendly. They seem snobby and when I call the front desk they seem irritated and put out. The rooms aree extremely noisy. There is NO WIFI in the rooms, unacceptable in this day and age! A lot of the clientele on the weekends are questionable at best. Loud music, smoking pot on their balconies. The only thing that this place has going for it are the views. That is, if you get one! I would not recommend this hotel.

We love to stay at Marriott hotels, stemming from former lives as frequent corporate travelers. We stayed here the night before our cruise. The lobby was nice, though check in was fairly slow. There was a wall by the elevator banks that was thousands of shiny stones that looked like water. It was so cool.

The room was pretty nice, it had a really big flat screen tv. The bed was the delectable Marriott standard issue. We had a balcony overlooking the port of Miami and Cay of Biscayne.

The bathroom was a bit cramped.

The pool and hot tub areas were nice, but the hot tub turned off every five minutes and someone had to get out and restart it.

This was the worst Marriott stay in over two million points I've accrued with the chain.  Perhaps because it is Miami, the worst city in the US for customer service. But from beginning to end, the stay was a disappointment. Yes, I was upgraded to a corner suite. Yes the receptionist was courteous. But that was about it.

For starters, the hotel is dated. Then besides the initial receptionist and the chambermaid, I found the staff to be indolent.  On checkout, for example, the receptionist on duty was engrossed in a 15-minute conversation about Cuban food with a friend as about ten other people waited in line. I left and called back later to check out. And there was no indication that she was inclined to ask the folks in the back for assistance either. The same attitude was evident throughout.

The hotel apparently wants to recoup as much money as they can from the customers.  Despite my Platinum Premier status, they didn't offer complimentary Wi-fi nor breakfast coupons as is the custom at every Marriott I've been when the lounge is closed. I did ask, and was told bruskely that the hotel didn't extend these courtesies any longer.  So I found somewhere else to eat and use the computer.

I was sorely disappointed. I've grown to expect the best from Marriott. I found a crude comparison to La Quinta.

Too pricey for location and for what this hotel has to offer. This hotel looks great on paper, but not too clean and doesn't function very well. They have spent a lot of money on their facades, but not on guest rooms and amenities. Gym and pool are quite dated as well. Additional services (such as parking, dining, hotel cafe...) are much much overpriced.

Nice hotel, but nothing really special. The rooms are just like a standard Marriott. There is some construction going on in the lobby, so many it will look more attractive when it is completed. The line to check in was short, however, it took longer than usual to check in. The reception desk was friendly and cheerful when I finally made it to someone.

The parking is in a garage attached to the hotel and was convenient.

My room was spacious. The bathroom was a little dated for a nice Miami location. The bed wasn't that comfortable, but I am picky when it comes to beds. The best part about the room was the view of the marina.

What makes this a 3 star and not a 4 in my mind was the lack of WIFI in the rooms. The only spot that had WIFI was in the lobby cafe. You had to actually plug into the connection on the desk (cord didn't reach the bed) and to top it off ... you had to pay! $13.95 per night. To me, this is completely outdated and something that this location needs to work on.

I did not eat at this hotel.

Overall the hotel is clean, spacious, and very affordable for the Miami area. Nothing really stands out as exceptional at this hotel.

Like Kelli B., I have stayed here twice...once last January and once this January, each the night before departing on a cruise. This was the host hotel for the pre-party put on by Sixthman for their annual cruise aboard The Rock Boat.

I think the price for a room at this hotel is astronomical. Last year they had a power outage and our entire floor along with other floors were without power for hours. They gave us a discount on the bill, but we had to ask. I don't know...I think good customer service would be to automatically offer this and apologize for the inconvenience. This year, the hotel was under construction and we couldn't use our balcony. Also, they didn't have a mini-fridge in the room. What the...? Yet the rates were still high and no effort in compensation for not having a balcony was made.  Also, I pre-ordered breakfast from room service the night before our departure and it never came.  Boohiss!!!

I'm glad that The Rock Boat moved it's pre-party because after this last experience I hope I never stay at the Marriott Biscayne Bay again!

Small rooms but definitely very comfy. We loved the bar downstairs and got a killer view....It's a $8 cab ride to the Port of Miami and a few dollars to  Bayview which is a great area to grab a bite (tons of chain restaurants) or do some "touristy" type shopping. Tons of cabs out front so no need to wait in the humid Miami air and the front desk folks were nice. Overall a great stay. No complaints here!

I must admit that I was a little nervous after reading about a few not very kind reviews. I am actually at the hotel right now for a pre-cruise one night stay. Absolutely LOVE the hotel; from the location to the view, the cool lobby, the cleanliness, but especially the courteous, professional and efficient staff. The reasons for the four stars are for the slightly small pool area and the fact that breakfast was a bit pricey. There is a mall adjacent to the hotel where you can an equally good breakfast for half the price. Aside from that, this hotel is amazing.

Great location!  Nice room!  Great view!

But...you have to pay for every little bit of creature comforts.

If you can, do not get a room with a connecting door.  Those doors must be made of cardboard.  I could hear EVERYTHING the neighbors said and did.  Earplugs are a must.

- Lotsa pillows with some firm and soft
- Flat screen HD tv
- iPod alarm station
- Auxiliary outlets for DVD players, etc.
- Balcony
- Shampoo/conditioner
- Coffee maker and coffee (look in the closet for these)
- Bed was somewhat hard
- Loved the natural lighting in the room with the huge window
- West side has a view of Biscayne Bay, Normandy Isle Monument, South Beach skyline.  Beautiful!

There are lots of "beautiful people" staying here.  I'm guessin' here for the night life.  I'm too old and crotchety for that these days.  :-(

After 3 days of eating bagels and peanut butter for breakfast and lunch, I splurged on my last night there and ordered rooms service.  Mmmm, Mmmm....half a roasted chicken, asparagus, plantains, and leche dulce cheesecake.  Wow!  Great, great food.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my boyfriend. We booked the room using my brother's Marriott member points, and requested amenities such as foam pillows, extra towels, and a high floor room. Although the normal check-in time isn't until 4pm, they gladly allowed us to check in at 10:30am, which was great because we desperately needed a nap after waking up at 4am to get to the airport. Despite the early check-in, all of the amenities we requested were present in the room when we arrived. Bonus points for getting everything right and letting us check in early.

Our room had a balcony. We walked out on the balcony and the view was amazing. Spectacular views of downtown and the bay! I took some daytime and nighttime photos of the view and posted them on Yelp. The nighttime views of the city lights were fantastic.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. There was a drawer safe in the room. The only slight negative about the room was that the shower water pressure was a little too low for my liking.

After our nap, we went to Catch, the brand new lobby restaurant. The food was great -- fresh and delicious. The prices were normal for a hotel restaurant.

The lobby of the hotel is great. There are many large, semi-private carrels with couch seating, flat-screen TVs, and power outlets.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. Easy access to buses and the people mover. The Marriott Biscayne Bay very close to the Venetian Causeway so you can quickly and easily get to Miami Beach. The Omni people mover stop is a block away, which makes it easy to get downtown.

My husband took me here for my birthday and we had a suite overlooking the bay. It is very spacious and it's a very nice hotel. This is also a perfect spot to watch the fireworks, which we did on the 4th of July here as well.  The service is always top notch and they want to make sure you enjoy your stay. All of the staff are very friendly.  The downsides are $26 a day to park (there is no other option), and $9 bottle waters! I think both of those prices are a bit too much, even for Miami.

The staff are very nice, but that's not quite enough to overcome the limitations of the building and the Marriott fee structure. It's not that you have to pay for wifi - there is NO wifi in most of the building. Ethernet cables only. The business center is small and limited, as is the bar, though they do have a good bottled beer selection. Elevators are slow and that floor with the numbers missing is 14.

You will pay fees for almost everything for your meeting, which make this hotel a little less cost-competitive than you may originally think based on room rates alone. Most of your fellow hotel goers will be flight crews and people about to leave for a cruise ship, folks who will spend hardly any time in the hotel. If that's what you need, the Marriott will suit you fine.

Room service didn't show up... I called for just a refresh,thinking I was being nice..They brought 1 towel...Really??? there are 4 of us in the room.  So at 7 pm I call again...this time they bring 4 conditions, 4 shampoos,4 lotions, who knows how much sugar, and 4 towels.   Idiots.  seriously

internet is $12.95 per day.. in this day and age...get with the program... way too expensive!

The room, gym and view are really nice. Parking is expensive and only the public get free WiFi in the lobby - paid customers have to pay for it in the room. They didn't bother telling me my luggage had been delivered - I had to go downstairs to look for it. Overall it is good but thinks a little highly of itself. Check in and get 30% off at restaurant.

Spent a pre-cruise night here on points.  Expected a crappy, low level room with a city view...ended up over halfway up the tower with a bay view, so that worked in our favor.   Even with the rollaway in a two double bed room, it was pretty spacious (great for those of you who need to pile 5 people plus luggage in the room).  Honestly, one of the reasons we picked this hotel was that most hotels in Miami wouldn't allow a fifth guest.  Convenient to the cruise terminals (about a $10 fare) and to the airport (around a $25 fare), with limited free shuttle service (both to the area businesses and to South Beach), it's a nice choice for a short visit.  As we were only there 1 night, our service needs were limited but everyone was friendly & helpful.  We chose to eat off property (at an off site restaurant as well as a deli in the adjoining shopping mall) to keep our costs down and our tummies happy.  Free wifi in the lobby came in handy as well (but you'll pay for it in your room).

Only negatives...walls/windows/doors are very thin when it comes to noise.  They are renovating the church below, so we got a lot of jackhammer noise until 6 or 7 at night.  There's a lot of road noise if that bothers you (it's just white noise to me) and if your neighbor is noisy, you'll hear it (slamming doors, carts down the hall, etc).

I've stayed here plenty, plenty of times and have fond memories of this place. Amazing staff who genuinely care about your experience at the hotel, yummy food at the restaurant, comfy Marriott beds/pillows, completely renovated hotel and central location, and best part of all-- the BAY VIEW ROOMS! Don't be cheap and pay the upgrade! And don't try to score a freebie upgrade, that's tacky tacky tacky!

Love this place and clearly well run management ;)

The hotel is perfectly located for those who do not want to stay on Miami Beach. The customer service is amazing!! The hotel has a free shuttle that takes you to the beach and other areas in Miami. There is a free trolly that has a stop across the street from the hotel and goes to Bayside and other areas around the city. Being that the taxis are extremely expensive in Miami, the shuttle and trolly were great! The rooms are clean and we did not have any major issues with anything. All of the rooms have great views of the bay and/or the city. The drive to the beach is less than 10 minutes.

I had a great and relaxing stay at this Marriott.

In particular, Maria Marin ( Asst. Mgr. I think ) really went out of her way to make sure I knew that this hotel cares about their customers.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the garage elevators have a crazy-odd unpleasant smell that I can't believe someone hasn't made a priority to eradicate.

Beautiful views, clean rooms, nice pool, friendly staff. This hotel paid a major role in the most relaxing 4 days of my life.

The hotel is actually pretty nice.  Rooms are updated, nice view of the water, comfortable beds, nice flat screen tvs.  I was lucky, my room had a view of the bridge that leads to Miami beach and also a view of the pool.  People start sun bathing pretty early.  The gym is also pretty nice; again views overlooking the docks and a good variety of machines though most of them seem to be for cardio exercises.  On the day I checked out, the lobby was playing hip hop with lot of people waiting, kind of felt like I was in a video especially it being Miami and all.

Anyway I'm taking away half a star because the chairs on the balcony and the balcony is very old, kind of rusting.  The bathtub's floor is also damaged (pieces seemed to be coming off).  

Other than the two negatives, I think this is a pretty good hotel.  It's close to Coconut Groves and South Beach.  I'd definitely stay here again but I hope they fix the bathtub.

One last point.  Even though this didn't happen in my room, I heard the security guy say there was a roach in the room next to mine.  Gross!  Luckily I didn't find anything like that in my room.

I'm deduscting a start after my recent stay. I was put on the crappy corner room with very limited view of bay (even I paied extra for the bay view room, they put me in this 1/2 view room). And guranteed friege never arrived during multiple stay here.

Also the house keeping was really poor this time. There were hairs in the bath and also bath counters and soap box.

Sure it's off season and less price but doens't mean the hotel should cut corners. I will look for alternative hotel next time I'm in MIA.

Comfy beds, and clean rooms. No free WiFi which I thought was odd. Rooms need a little updating, but not too bad. Only complaint is they put us in a handicap room, which we didn't know because there was no signs. We noticed there was no lip to keep the water from coming out of the shower onto the bathroom floor, and there was a seat in the shower. The water from the shower flooded our bathroom, and we still there the next morning. We went to the front desk to ask if this was normal. She said, no we'll have maintenance fix it, and I said there is no way to fix it unless they re-tile the bathroom since there is no divider between the bathroom floor and shower floor. Then I asked, is there a seat in all showers? She said no, and that was why. We were in a handicap accessible shower. But I have no clue how they don't have a lawsuit on their hands from someone handicap, because that water got everywhere. And no turning of the shower head fixed it. I am surprised someone hasn't slipped and fallen after taking a shower in that bathroom!

Stayed for one night only, but it was excellent. The management helped us with our complicated reservation and were very patient, even bringing us complimentary water bottles while we were on the phone with our overseas CC company.
Room was great, view was lovely, and I recommend the bar! Happy hour from 4-7, $5 wine and $3 beers.

So I'm at this Marriott right now and it's decent, the room is a little larger than average, although the bathroom is tiny and a little old looking.  The room has some issues, the AC unit squeals if I turn it below 69, it's infested with some kind of small bugs and there is someone's bass coming thru the walls.  "At your service" only works when someone picks up the phone so I guess I won't be using that service.  Maybe the room issues explain why the concierge lounge is so busy? Guess I'll just have to spend some more time at work to get anything done down here, fun.

It's a great hotel to stay at if you want to have easy access to downtown area, and close enough drive to South Beach. I did not like how the lobby gets overly crowded. At times you'd think you are there waiting at the movies instead of a hotel. Even when it's crowded, there are still places for you to comfortably sit, do work or mingle with others. I love how they play an upbeat music in the lobby making one feel energized and ready to mingle. The lobby offers free wifi for 24 hour of use.

The rooms are clean, and nice. I've been here a couple of times, and during each stay we got a room with a very nice view of the bay! We could see cruise ships, airplanes, everything that was out there! That was the selling point for the hotel. Rooms don't have free internet and it's not wifi. The internet is through ethernet and there is a charge to use (don't remember how much it costs to use it per day). They do have a friendly staff who are always willing to help and made the stay enjoyable.

What a pit.  No room cleaned for check-in until 5pm so I hung around in their limited lobby.  All the restaurants we closed between lunch and dinner.  Very run down, as is everything around it.  Called twice to request foam pillows.  Never delivered.  I have no doubt this was once a fine hotel, but those days are long gone.

I stay weekly at hotels and this was one of my best stays ever.  The room details:  bed and linens were very soft.  It was very quiet, even though we were there during Ultra Music Festival, really good noise control.  Room had sliding glass door to small outside patio.  The in room coffee was actually really good.  Bathroom had tub/shower combo with Bath and Bodyworks Citrus Ginger soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner.  Room do not have a minibar or fridge, but for $10 a day you can get one installed.  Also wifi in room was $12 a day.
The restaurant was really amazing.  Usually, hotels have these, but they are prefuctory.  This was a destination in itself.  The breakfast buffet full was $22, so a bit pricey, but a great spread.  The dinner was outstanding.  
Parking is expensive, but the free metromover is across the street and you can connect to other metro lines.  So excellent location.  It's also within walking distance of Bayside shopping, etc.  
The service was also fantastic, from the cleaners, front desk, waitstaff.  Will stay here again.

This place was great. Attending a conference here for 3 days and 2 nights and everything was 5 star... The staff, the room, the services, the amenities.

My only complaint would be the shower was horrible. The shower head spewed out HARD water pressure that you couldn't control/turn down. So basically, I couldn't enjoy my showers, I had to get in/get out since it was so miserable. But that's not enough to remove a star.

5 stars all around for the great service and team!

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel.  Front desk service was excellent.  The gym and pool were larger than 95% of the hotels today.  And the location and price were excellent as well.  I don't know that I'll be back in Miami anytime soon but if I do come back, I would stay here without hesitation.
It's also walking distance to the Bayside Marketplace which is nice.

I normally .../ No Service /... like to start the draft of my reviews .../ No Service /... on mobile and eventually finalize .../ No Service /... the review online. Unfortunately, due to the lack of .../ No Service /... AT&T and Verizon cell phone signals in the ballrooms, it's rather difficult.  I ended .../ No Service /... up having to start my review .../ No Service /... in my notes app .../ No Service /... and go from there.

As strange as it seems, finding the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay was exceptionally easier than other hotels I have recently visited. I was attending a conference and finding the conference rooms was very simple. Just take two escalators up to the third floor and you're there.

My only complain was the chairs in the conference room. I just couldn't sit down for too long without feeling in pain. Is there any kind of chair that would be better for a conference? I don't know. My solution was just to stand up in the back and just keep listening.

Bottom Line: I'll definitely try another conference here. Maybe one day I can see other parts of the hotel.

Recently stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay for a 5 day getaway.  Excellent location on the water was close to both downtown as well as to south beach.  Free daily shuttles to and from the beach saved cab fares as well as car rental and parking charges.  All staff members that we interacted with were all extremely friendly and helpful.  

Much less expensive than staying at the overpriced options on the beach.

Can't wait to visit again!

If this was purely based on front desk service, I would have given 5 star- the gentleman who checked me in was INCREDIBLE... :-) hospitable, social, helpful in every way. He saw I was stressed and gave me what I needed without me asking.... a high high floor, great calming view.
However... the room itself was not as impressive.  Sort of just your standard hotel room, could have been a holiday inn.  Bed comfortable, VIEW WAS AMAZING AMAZING, I repeat 29th floor- AMAZING. Balcony doors didn't open.

Parking $26 per night... standard for the area.

Con: Bathroom especially the tub needed help. It was cracked, moldy, and just not the the standard the I expected from a hotel like this.  Worse was all the lingering hair from the previous guest- creeped me out a bit, enough to not take a BATH.
Also, the shampoo/lotion/shower gel were not sealed and only half full... so someone did not change them out when the room was turned over.  That was a little bit off putting as well.
Why do we PAY for WIFI here?

Complimentary coffee in the room was nice, comfy bed, great hot water.

I would recommend this hotel if the rate is right.... however to compare it physically to other hotels I have stayed at in the area for similar rates, I would pass.

My husband and I stayed here for New Years Eve. We got back to Miami, from a cruise, and checked in at 9am. To our surprise, the gave us a room, and one with a great view at that. The location is convenient with plenty of restaurants in the nearby outdoor "mall" that was located within walking distance.The hotel also provided a convenient shuttle to South Beach(only negative : last shuttle back is at 6 pm). Service was great and we had a beautiful view of the fireworks right from our room!

Nice hotel with great view. Make sure you request the room on the top floor like 25-31 and up on the city side (west side). It will ensure the city skyline view, the bay, Miami Beach, and Atlantic Ocean.

The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It is just five-ten minutes across the Venetian Causeway (be prepared for toll $1.25 each way) to Miami Beach Convention Center. I highly recommend this hotel if you need to go to the convention center. It is better than the Miami Beach hotels which are super expensive with lesser quality. There are little grocery, cheese, and wine shops adjuscent to the hotel.

Great for business travellers. Get the Breakfast Buffet package. Be ware, they add tips into the room charge later. The parking fee is $21++tax a day, unlimited access. Free Wi Fi only in the lobby area.

Hotel is very old.  I know it is a big conference hotel, so they don't seem to care about the condition of the hotel.  I had a room that said on the back of the door that it was a $2500 suite, but it was really just a bigger room, nothing separating the sleeping area from a couch and a table and chairs.  There was no refrigerator, just one small TV, there were literally 2 power outlets in the room.  The carpet had numerous stains and burn marks, the drawers in the dresser and nightstand would not open, and the closet still had a really cheesy mirrored door that I would expect in a much lower class of hotel.  On the good side, the view was nice, overlooking a marina and the west side of North Miami Beach.  There was a sliding door you could open but beyond that was about 2 inches of balcony and then iron to keep you from falling.  Some party next door used the door to scream so if you feel like screaming that's fine.

Another decent thing was that the shower was nice, seemed like maybe they had soft water, which is rare in Miami.

There is a walkway to the Omni/Hilton parking garage exiting from the 3rd floor, but it is not handicapped accessible and is a very filthy area, looks like no one has every cleaned the walls or the floors.

The pool area is huge but looked like they had a pretty small bar area, and after dark there are no lights so be careful.

A great hotel with a beautiful view of the bay. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I was so tired at the end of the day, I immediately fell sound asleep. The staff was super helpful and very friendly. We were staying for a few days so I felt we saw the same people over and over - always smiling.

We were staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay to avoid the over-priced hotels closer to SOBE Wine & Food Festival. The traffic getting to & from the festival was sometimes excessive but I think the cost savings were definitely worth the extra hassle of getting to and from Miami Beach.

Not impressed and we ONLY stay in Marriott branded hotels. Bathroom extremely small and water poured out of tub while showering even though the interior curtain was tucked inside tub. And it was worn and a little dirty. Customer service was adequate.  concierge gave us a hard time checking in. Over 25 minutes to check in, we have a 4 year old, not fun, not cool. And worst part they didn't advertise their lobby would be under construction so it just felt like bring in a building zone not a high star Marriott.   Two stars because beds were comfy but the light coming thru our room door directly in my eyes meant a toss and turn night of sleep for me. Disappointed to say the least!

I stayed at this hotel before going on a cruise and loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was efficient and didn't take much time.  My room was large and looked very nice with a great view of the marina from the balcony.  The bed was awesome. It was like sleeping on a cloud and I slept like a baby.

The food was very good and I enjoyed breakfast on the patio overlooking the marina. Enjoyed a live band, great food and drinks on the patio that night and service was exceptional. I would stay there again in a minute!

I used to work for Marriott so I know the routine and thought check-in could have been a little more efficient. Check-in took almost an hour.  After a long drive that is frustrating.  But that being said I enjoyed my stay.  Great location, great view from balcony, HUGE room.  I can't complain.

We were looking for a place to stay before our cruise out of Miami. Found a great deal through Priceline. This hotel is great, with a great location and a great service. Their concierge service is great and will take as much time as necessary to help you out. Right in the middle of everything with a great view of the bay. Right around the corner from free trolley (provided by city of Miami) that will take you to most places that you would want to visit in Miami. 5 minutes to Bayside shopping (my wife and daughter loved it), 20 minutes to Ocean Drive (free shuttle service provided by hotel is a great touch but it is limited on time it's available). If you are Marriott Platinum Member, concierge lounge is great (breakfast and dinner is included most nights). The check in time is fast and efficient. The shopping Plaza that connects Marriott and Doubletree has some great food option. On the flipside - hotel can get pricey, rooms are on smaller side and parking is expensive ($26-$40 daily)

Customer service was 2nd to none.  The staff in the Executive Lounge were attentive & engaging.  The view was beyond.  Stayed in a room where we could see everything - the most incredible view of the bay across 3 causeways to South Beach.  It was both a Heat playoff game & Urban weekend - watching the traffic at night was entertainment by itself.

I am way overdue to review this fabulous hotel. Stayed here for a post-cruise night in January, and can I just say this is the PERFECT pre or post cruise hotel?!

 Literally tried for months to "win" a hotel via Priceline for Miami for this post-cruise one night stay.  Tried four stars, various zones, finally decided to narrow it down to Downtown or Coral Gables/Coconut Grove for this night. Started at $70 and inched up to $100 with rebid zones. Previous bid was $95. Very pleased and even more so after staying there!

 If you're like us, you're not ready to get off a cruise ship, so if you have to leave it, what better way to extend your vacation then spending a night at this wonderful hotel?  We were greeted warmly (sorry that I can't remember the name of the awesome gal who checked us in, but that's what happens when I wait too long to do a review).  First big pleasant surprise was that we were allowed to check in on a Saturday early in the day after debarking at 10am.  We were offered to upgrade to a bay view room for $25.  Normally, this Priceline gal balks at such things, but being my birthday, and sad as heck for vacation to be ending, we went for it.  Then when she heard it was my birthday, she threw in a couple free drinks, which made this deal-loving gal even happier.  Can I say I LOVE this hotel?

  Now up to the room we went and the view took my my breath away...it was worth every penny, with or without the free drinks!  sigh, wish I were back there right now.  You can see your cruise ship, dream about being on it, and later watch it sail away without you.  

 More pluses about this hotel:  happy hour...try the pulled pork sliders!  happy hour prices are great.
Happy hour minus...service once we moved from the bar to the patio, became unbearably slow.  As in, go find the waiter yourself to finish paying your bill after he promised to take care of it.  A minor complaint if you're not in any kind of hurry like we were...would have been incredibly aggravating though if you needed to get somewhere.

  COMFY bed, usual Marriott nice everything, and may I just say that one of the things that makes you appreciate them so much is that they tend to under-rate their own star level?  This was considered a 3-star hotel, but was every bit as good as any really good 4-star we've stayed it.

  One last plus, they did not hesitate to let us have a late check-out the next day when we mentioned we had a later flight.

  TIP...do NOT recommend taking the free people mover nearby.  It did not feel safe to us, and we're used to some major metros.  Suggest walking or cabbing it to local attractions such as the nearby marketplace.

My husband and I recently spent three glorious days at this hotel and it was splendid. The customer service is five star from valet to the concierge. Check-in was superb and our room was clean and refreshed daily. Marriott Biscayne Bay offers a small pool, several dining options in and around the hotel. Check out the mall which is attached to the hotel if you're looking for casual dining, a pharmacy or high end shopping.

Lovely! It really is a great location and we had a very comfy, nice room!  The selling point though? The great view! WOW! Our balcony saw all the water and sunset was gorgeous. The beds were uber comfy too!

I was staying with Sandi W. and she was using her points so I do not know the full price of what it is to stay here. The staff was very courteous and made our stay lovely. The restaurant in the hotel was perfect for brunch as well.

The lobby is gorgeous and valet was so convenient. There is also other bars and restaurants within walking distance.

We could not be happier about the service from all the hotel staff. I had left a bag with some key medical equipment in a cab, and the staff went way above and beyond to help us track down the driver and get the bag back.  Definitely definitely will be back here again.

The hotel is ok/average. I have co workers who have stayed here for work... I've come here mostly for work functions- work parties, formal networking dinners and the occasional conference. Overall I would say mediocre at best. Service is sort of crappy. At a formal dinner I attended, the food was average at best. Not what I expected from a Marriott, but certainly not a great example of their best property or service.

We had a pre-party there for the Shiprocked cruise and I know they weren't expecting such a crowd, but they ran out of several different types of liquor including bottled beer.  Thank goodness for me, they still had draught beer.  Now, another thing is that the restaurant offered a Groupon and so many people bought it that they couldn't accomodate anyone else that night, but Groupon gladly gave me a refund.  They did the best they could, in my opinion, at making a bunch of drinking rock and rollers have fun.  The outside area behind the bar was huge and a beautiful view right on the water with boats docked.  If I were to ever go back to Miami, I would stay there.

This was a 'nice' hotel.  For the cost it should have wow'ed us.  There is no food included for breakfast, this is fine, we ordered from the cafe.  At the cafe the fruit was moldy.  They give you the option to valet your car which is nice for not much additional than the normal parking fee.  The room was nice BUT on the first night we were there we asked if I could have non down bedding (trying to avoid the puffed up face allergies) - we came back from dinner and the door was propped open with the original bedded - it had not been changed.  So now at midnight I'm calling the service desk for a down free pillow but I'll deal with the comforter.  Every person we spoke to was nice but was not able to understand our simple requests.  Again for the price of the room we expect a good experience.  In the bathroom, the door could not open/close if anyone was using the facilities - there was only two inces between the door and the toilet? Why...? Overall happy to have been in Miami but I will not stay here again.  I'm just happy nothing was stolen while the staff left our door open!!!

Really really like this Marriott! I travel a lot for work and stopped using Marriott's because I felt like they were inconsistent, but this one in Miami is awesome. The customer service is great!! Amenities were nice...the only negative I'd mention is no refrigerator in the rooms and I just wish the bathrooms were a little bigger, other than that, I'll definitely be back! Also very good rates here.

When I feel like splurging, I stay at the Marriott. At $400 a night for a last minute room (literally i booked it the day before driving down...) this was extremely expensive for me but I didn't feel like staying across the bridge during Ultra again, so I went ahead and parted with my money.

If you need to get to Bayfront Park it's an $8 cab ride or a 1 mile walk, maybe more, which feels like a long time after you've been dancing for hours. But I only rode the cab 3 times the entire time I stayed in MIA (plus it's impossible AFTER Ultra to get any cab) so the walk was OK after a while.

Directly attached to the Marriott is a tiny indoor shopping center with some restaurants, a nail salon, and some other businesses. Nearby is Nove a sushi place.

But inside the Marriott they have a bar with really delicious drinks and a little cafe with delicious lattes and decent food. But who needs to walk all the way downstairs when you've got room service? I ate like a queen the second day when I ordered room service. I had the best view ever.

My room was perfect. The lady at the desk told me it would only face the pool but when I got there, I was pleasantly surprised and got a view of both the pool AND the bay which I had requested. Score!

The beds are SOOOO soft. It's like sleeping on a gigantic marshmallow. I kind of didn't want to leave. Hehe.

Valet parking is $30 something a day. When you check in, you pay a $50 a day deposit which they return if you don't have valet or take advantage of room service and things like that.

There was a goofy incident which made me miss out on Ultra that morning. =(  I couldn't find my wallet and I looked all over. Security came and only after they were there did I actually find my wallet. Ugh... The staff were ALL extremely helpful and accommodating and I felt like a nuisance when I found that wallet, but they were all really understanding.

I've always liked Marriott hotels, but this experience definitely was worth the $400 a night. I might consider staying again. Of course if I can get a discount. =)

Our first stay here was a week ago. We arrived after 4pm and our room was not ready. They did hold our bags for us and gave us $30 to use at Catch for dinner. An hour later our rooms still weren't ready so we were given free drink vouchers for Catch as well. After we finally got a room we headed down to dinner. This is where I have one of my few complaints about this place. Our waiter had no idea how to handle our drink vouchers. He stated that our voucher could only be used for beer. The voucher stated that it was for any cocktail on the menu.  He finally took it to his manager after I insisted he finds out.  It took over 15 minutes for them to get clarification from the front desk. After my cocktail arrived, the waiter hardly ever returned. No refills on waters,  checked back very quickly after the food arrived and that was it.

Our second stay we encountered super friendly front desk staff. The only other issue I had with this hotel was the lack of transportation options that were offered. No courtesy shuttles anywhere.

I am still taken away and wish I was still at Marriott Biscayne Bay. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. I was visiting with my Fiancee for a quick mini getaway celebrating our anniversary to Miami (my first time there, were from California) and as soon as we arrived Valet and the bell service are there to assist you to your check-in.

We had arrived early morning from a red eye flight (Labor Day Weekend) and just wanted to shower and rest before going out to explore. Thank God I called ahead of time to make sure everything was set up as I mentioned we were coming all the way from Cali and I wanted things to be perfect. I had spoke with a young lady named Khalillah over the phone who ensured me that everything would be to my liking. When we arrived we were greeted by Barbara the front desk agent and she was perfect even though there was a slight mix up with our room she was quick to fix the situation and assured us to be in constant communication.

Later that afternoon once our room was ready I actually had the pleasure of meeting Sharissa M. who from the moment she meet me went WELL ABOVE and BEYOND. She is truly the best at what she does and making sure that my stay was everything and more then I could ever imagine. She gave us tips on local places to visit as well as eat. And She literally was just a phone call away with any issue we had which was close to none.

The only problem we had was the a/c but once again Sharissa was quick to get that fixed for us. I can not wait to come back and will gladly want to stay at Marriott Biscayne Bay. It was also close to everything we needed to do or drive to as we did have a rental car. Just wanting to stay longer next time. Once again thank you to the 3 ladies mentioned and the rest of the staff.

This is the best hotel I've stayed at in Miami, but it is expensive. Since I was paying a lot out of pocket, you should enjoy the pool, fitness center, and the lounge as much as possible to get your money's worth. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. It is easy to get around using the buses and the free trolley.

There are a few negatives. First, it is not worth bringing your car since it costs so much to park it. Second, you have to go to the lounge for free wifi since they charge in the rooms.

Gorgeous views, beautifully decorated. Great for business or leisure. It had private work spaces in the lobby, large gym with a view, and nice pool area with life size chess/checker board. This hotel has so much potential!  The lobby is very nice and the staff helpful. The location is convenient to the piers (we were going on a cruise the next day). The pool was clean and our room was clean.  So what went wrong??

* The room was old with the head board peeling (yes...odd...especially because the headboard was lined with fake leather)
* The restaurant was either closed or missing items when open (needless to say,  we did not eat there)
* The bartender was rude...rude...rude...rude
* The daiquiris were from a mix (perhaps this is petty??)
* Concierge lounge closed

Would we stay here again? No...not for the price and not for what is expected from a Marriott.

It's my home away from home. Thirty-one story hotel that's most convenient to our office. Free tram for downtown and Brickell is an amazing Miami transportation achievement. Shuttle to South Beach at your beckon. Plenty of restaurants some are real gems to be discovered. Incredible Publix two blocks away for snacks, meals, and groceries.

Hotel is older but comes with larger than average sized rooms. Bed is a quasai foam mattress that's just as good as taking a sleeping pill. Best of all it is quiet.
Staff is most pleasant. Housekeeping is delightful but inconsistent at times. Simple "At your service" with your finger resolves any shortcomings.

I was looking for an affordable hotel and found on priceline a deal at the Marriot. This is not downtown near Brickell but closer to the Omni and where the Miami Herald use to be. I was familiar with the location so I was good with this hotel.

We were situated on the 22nd floor with a view in between the city and water.

Hotel lobby is beautiful
Service was good
Check in was fast ( we arrived after 6 pm)
View from our room was beautiful
Next to hotel in the Grand Hotel (it is connected via the parking area) you can go to a few shops, get liquor, nails and a few cafes
Taxi's available on site
Deal from priceline for around $100
Bed was super comfy
Cab ride to SoBe around $17 each way

Rooms a bit outdated as mentioned by other yelpers but nothing that would stop you from staying. They still keep in pretty clean but I still like to wear sandals all the time in hotel rooms because I'm never sure how well they vacuum the floors.
Balcony needs updating as it is too very outdated but does not stop from the wonderful view
Self parking was $26 but connected to hotel - this is something you expect from most hotels in Miami

We did not have any issues but did ask the front desk to get us a fridge which they never brought to us.  Other than that - we thought this was a decent hotel.

The grand lobby of the Miami Marriott was very impressive! The rooms were larger than we expected except the bathroom was extremely small (shower only). Beds were very comfortable, and it was quiet even though we had a street side room. A coffee maker in the room would have been nice. The hotel is within walking distance to Times Square, Rock Center, Central Park, Grand Central, many other sights, and restaurants. Check in was a breeze and they called when our room was ready about an hour before regular check in time. The only thing we didn't appreciate was being told by the bellman to tip when we dropped our bags for storage. We had planned to tip but didn't have the chance before he told us it was expected.

Great downtown location. The views are incredible. The staff was super attentive. Prices are great. The rooms and bathrooms are dated. Valet parking takes a bit too long to get your car. Construction going on now. The concierge lounge is big with great amenities. Huge top natch gym and pool.

Another visit update from my last trip and still a solid 3. The pool is basic, no extra points at all except that the bar is steps away. The concierge lounge is ALWAYS busy and early breakfast hours (8-9) is when you may be lucky to find a chair. They did keep up with the high volume though. Service (lobby, valet, guest services....) were always happy and approachable. Valet did warn me to come down a few minutes early because they get busy in the AM. They were right but again, kept up with the demand.

Now I have to say some of the guests are a little off (no effect to the rating). Mainly it was at the pool. A woman forced her kids to video tape the ice bucket challenge (circa Aug 2014). Her daughter was upset because the mother kept telling her that her reaction wasn't good. Another parent spanked her son for not putting on his arm swimmers. Awkward! Another person laying in front of me turned to face me with legs wide open. The pool doesn't have much to look at so I moved. Not the poolside view I wanted. That character is one that still makes me laugh. These little episodes were within 2 hours. Reality show for free.

This review had been  in my bookmarks for months. After 4 stays I can say this is my favorite hotel in downtown Miami. And yes there are many reasons for that. Three out of the four times were for business and once for pleasure a post cruse stay. I have booked 3 times on price line on a blind bid from 45-75 dollars saving an averages hundred dollars and on hotwire for 80 dollars .

This property on Biscayne Bay  next to NE 15TH street(Venetian Causeway) it goes through the Venetian islands and onto Miami Beach. Also mins from American Airlines arena, and the heart of downtown. Taxi ride to the beach is a average  12-15 dollars. Bus 3.00. It right next to the double tree hotel. Valet parking is 30 dollars and self is 26.00. You can text or call ahead when you are going to pickup the vehicle.

Check in is a breeze. The line are long too what surprise me. Wait time was no longer than 10 mins.  What also surprise me wad the staff also named available restaurant's next door ( the double tree)  with addition on there property. All four times I booked a single room king bed with balcony facing Biscayne Bay. None of the rooms were dated  Modern bathroom with Thann and Neutrogena bath products. Desk with usb and traditional out lets . 32 inch flat screen TV. NO Free Wi-Fi unless in the lobby or in the Concierge level.

There are only two restaurants on this property . That is the reason why the staff starts naming a choices next door ( the double tree).
Catch Grill & Bar- seafood , steak and sandwiches. Have happy hour 4-7 deals on select sandwiches and drinks. Breakfast .
Illy Cafe - serving Italian coffee, premade sandwich's and snacks. Beer and wine is served during the evening.

I have been to both for drinks. I prefer the Catch grill and bar since they have out door  seating and views of Biscayne. Over all great hotel with great staff , fast check in and check out. Close to Miami beach making cab fare affordable .

Let me preface this by saying that I love Marriott hotels. I stay at them all the time, I am a Gold Elite member, etc.

This is quite possibly the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at. The room was disgusting.

There were mystery stains on my carpet that resembled old dried blood. There were mystery stains on the furniture as well.

The AC unit is mounted right by the bed, pointing at the bed. As you sleep, you are blasted with cold dusty air all night. How do I know its dusty? Every morning I had a soar throat and was coughing up dusty spit. Nasty.

The bathroom was another area that was particularly gross. The floor had multiple stains and chips in the tiles.

I would AVOID this hotel if you can. I've stayed at the JW Marriott Miami and this is a complete 180 from how nice that place is.

First thing, I'd like to thank Sharissa Muller for being The BEST. Period. From start to finish, she did an excellent job handling my stay. She took great care of me and my friends. It felt like home but with a VIP treatment. Her smile and personality along with her customer service is a 10! She's amazing and I hope to get service from her again the next time I come!

Obviously this hotel was amazing. Clean, excellent service, lots of accommodations, near the downtown strip, classy and fancy, more.

The room was XL with two large queen sized beds, medium sized bathroom, perfect balcony view of the port and downtown, and large living room. I had perfect sleep here.

The outdoor pool area on the 5th floor was great too! The jacuzzi was enough to fit 10 people! There is also an outdoor bar with full service.

I will def come back here and stay! Thanks Sharissa!! I love you for everything!

Stayed here for one night in December. Without even having to ask, the employee working the front desk switched my room so I would have a view of the Port, which ended up being a really, really nice move.

Overall, the room was well-designed and immaculate. Definitely had that tropical Miami-esque feel to it. The breakfast in the executive lounge was excellent. Fresh fruit, an espresso machine, a hot buffet, decent pastries and muffins and bottled water to go.

The biggest downfall to this hotel is probably the rate, given the less than ideal location. It's not really within walking distance of anything, yet I still paid over $170 on a Sunday night in December. Valet parking was an extra $30 on top of that. At least checkout was easy.

I usually try to avoid Courtyards, so the Coconut Grove it out. But I think next time I'm in Miami I'll pay a little more to stay at the JW or else the Stanton on South Beach to be closer to the action.

Probably the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at.  For a full-level / full-blown Marriott you would expect better.  Especially after paying top dollar ($350-per night)...  There are dozens of other places nearby that would be better.

Aside from the lobby, the entire hotel is in dire need of a make-over.  The pool, elevators were painfully slow, hallways on the floors, rooms, was like going back to the 1970s.  The bathroom was tiny (ref picture).

For the dollar, i was absolutely fleeced.

Avoid this hotel... Words to describe this hotel:

Inedible food
Non existent  management
Nothing nearby

And we had a suite high floor with a nice view of water. Problem with the suites they are on the end with two doors that are adjoining two other rooms. These.walls are paper thin and you can hear every sound/voice from next door. Awfull
I shudder to think what the last 5 days would have been like in a standard room!
This was a business conference my husband attended and therefor this was the hotel of choice
The pool is absolutely awful/dirty and very small...don't be fooled in this Marriott website there are 100+ pics with a model walking alongside a nice pool with her hat on...trust me this is not the same pool at this hotel.
Anyway my husband's associate who loves staying at Marriott hotels commented this was THE worst hotel food ever...it's true

Pretty much your run of the mill Marriot.

Good points:
Close to water and convenient  to a variety of fun parts of town. A bit outdated, but comfy Marriot beds and clean.

Bad points:
Wifi was horrendous - I would have been pissed if I had to pay for it. Also what's up with the bar? They listed about 10 speciality cocktails, including on chalkboard, but did not have the liquors for 5 in stock!? Really?  

Decent per night rate.

Awesome stay!
I went with my family down to Miami in March, which is prime time for spring break, and originally planned on staying in South Beach. After reading horrible and rather disgusting reviews about several (high end) hotels in South Beach, I figured that I'd book at the Marriott in Biscayne Bay because Marriott never seems to have bad reviews and is always clean.
With this being our first trip to Miami, we definitely wanted to explore. Our first night there we asked the front desk of any hot spots that were walking distance and were told to check out Bayside Marketplace. Great area. Tons of restaurants, music and shops.
The location of this hotel couldn't have been any better. The views were incredible. From our room, our balcony overlooked the bay, we had a breathtaking view of Miami's skyline and it's just a quick 7 minute drive to South Beach. Right behind the hotel is a jet boat ride (Jet Boat Miami) that takes you on a 30 minute ride through the bay, which is half guided tour - half thrill ride. I absolutely recommend checking it out! I have a hard time trying to explain to people how amazing it was.
Another thing I'd like to acknowledge, is that while housekeeping was cleaning our room, she accidentally dropped and broke my mother's facial wash - that costs about $50. When we came back to our room, we found a note from the hotel manager that said he had gone out to Sephora and purchased a brand new bottle of the facial wash for my mother and said it will be waiting for us at the front desk. This was greatly appreciated! I understand the concept of "if you break it, you buy it", but my mother said herself that she would have kindly accepted a glass of wine and buy a new bottle of the facial wash herself. Overall, it was a very kind gesture on their part.
Finally, the last thing I'd like to add is if you aren't too crazy about the party scene and trashy young people (although it was spring break), I'd definitely recommend staying on this side of the bay. After witnessing the environment of South Beach, I'm very glad I chose the Miami Marriott at Biscayne Bay. I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the area and would, without a doubt, stay here again.
