I have no problem with airport noise. ESPECIALLY when I book next to an airport! The room was immaculate. Runway 9/27 is a busy one though and at 13,000 feet, it sure to have the big boys taking off and screaming to gain altitude and a pretty constant rate in good weather. Hey, they supply you with ear plugs, lol. Free wi-fi and parking is always a plus. This would not be a place where I would stay for 6 weeks ( I overheard a guy looking to book in the summer) given the aircraft noise and outside rush hour traffic. To me, with the kitchen set up, living room and dining area and all, this is a property better suited for the country or an area with less hustle and bustle where you can enjoy the amenities  of home in a quiet atmosphere. Stephanie was the crown jewel of the front desk folks who were all nice. The themed free eats every night was a nice touch on the pocket as well as the palate and of course the free breakfast in the morning was delicious, hot and on time. Oh, and good coffee is always available around the clock. The ceilings in the rooms are paper thin. The upper rooms are called penthouses and you have a family with active kids above you, you're in for a noisy stay. Since I was a short stay guy I didn't complain but the front desk would admonish the tenants if requested. Good transient place. I would stay again and this time shoot a few hoops or hit a few tennis balls. Go. Stay.

Front desk staff went out of her way to get me an upgrade. Really appreciate the space that we had. Took awesome pictures of large airplanes landing into MIA. Free parking and excellent wifi. Breakfast was pretty good too, and available to go.

Sit down, this is going to be a long review. Short version: Fantastic in every way except location.

I stayed here for 3 days while my house was being tented. This hotel is pricey, but it was the least expensive I could find in Miami that was pet-friendly. There is a one-time $100 fee for the pet, which I didn't mind (you MUST tell them at the front desk that you have a pet). The hotel is perfect for a dog - it was nice to have a grassy area to walk the dog (cleaning up after her, of course!).

This is an older, very well-kept property; the type where there are several buildings, each with 1 and 2 bedroom suites. The suites are fully equipped - utensils, plates, stove-top, microwave, frig, icemaker, etc. Mine (2BR/2B) had an oven, something I don't always see in a Residence Inn.  The grounds are lush and beautiful - lots of outdoor family space with a nice pool, hot tub, tennis court and basketball hoop. Half of the rooms are on second and third floors - there is no elevator, so be prepared to use the stairs. If you are a person with a disability, make sure you request a ground floor.

I will address the location of this hotel at the end. What this hotel lacks in location, it more than makes up for with customer service. The front desk staff that checked me in was fantastic. During my stay, I came in contact with several employees and each was nicer than the next. Miami is sometimes deemed "unfriendly" - so I was pleasantly surprised when everybody was wonderful. GREAT customer service!

My room was spotless. Bathrooms were clean and filled with plenty of fresh towels. The sheets were clean and the beds (2 kings) were very, very comfortable. There was excellent free wi-fi and plenty of free parking.

The breakfast was the usual great Res Inn buffet.  Eggs, waffles, coffee, juices, (ham or sausage for those carnivores), breads, bagels, muffins, and a variety of cereals - all very good. The breakfast room was clean and kept well-stocked. During the week, they offer a different dinner spread every night (free). One night it was fajitas, the next hamburgers (meat and veg). It was really good! Employees working the breakfast / dinner area were excellent!

Now, on to my major whining about this hotel (since I live here, I am very familiar with this area, so I know of what I speak).

The location of this hotel could not be worse for a visitor to Miami. This area is crowded, noisy, under constant construction  - it is just lots of apartments and car dealers, and a few obscure shops. There are a couple fast food joints, a restaurant or two, and a Wal-Mart within walking distance. The airport is close - a few miles away - but with the traffic, it still takes a while to get there (plan on at least 20 minutes). The hotel is in the direct path of the airport, so there is airport noise - beware - you WILL hear lots of planes. After 10pm, the plane noise was much less - I only heard 1 or 2 during the night. The good news is, it is only a minute off 2 major highways that run N/S and E/W through Miami (826 and 836); these are the roads you would travel to get anywhere in Miami. There is also a train track right next to the hotel on the north side; I didn't hear it until 4:30am the second night I was there. My room was close to the track, so if trains are an issue for you, get a room on the south side near 12th Avenue.

From the hotel website, you may get the impression that South Beach, Coconut Grove, Homestead, etc., are close by. NONE of those things are close by. They are all far away and any road you take has lots of traffic, no matter the time of day. South Beach is not even remotely near here. There are 2 malls; one very close by called Mall of the Americas; it's not the greatest  - but does have a movie theatre. A few miles west is a huge mall called Dolphin. That mall has a movie theatre, restaurants, and lots and lots of stores - it's not MY thing (wild dogs couldn't drag me there), but some people enjoy a mall and it is the granddaddy of all malls (you could spend the day there). It is NOT within walking distance - it's a short drive up the street.

Miami is multi-cultural, and this area (including both malls and the Wal-Mart) has a high population of Spanish speakers. It is very likely that you will go into a store and find someone who does not speak English; I am not making a derogatory remark, I am stating a fact. That's Miami and we are proud of our diversity.

For everything but location, I give this Residence top of the line 5 stars. I can honestly say that these were the friendliest people I have come in contact with - they are an asset to the Marriott Corp. I'm gonna have to go with only 2 stars for location! If they could pick up the hotel and put it somewhere else, that would be great. The hotel still rates an overall 5, because it definitely met and even exceeded my needs.  I'm all about friendly staff, clean sheets, and good free eats!

This is one of those "extended stay" hotels.  It's not a fancy place but it is very comfortable.  Parking and wifi are free here.  Breakfast buffet is a fancier spread than more comparable hotels.  There was a waffle making machine, various fruits, muffins, bagels, toast, eggs, yogurt, coffee, cereal.  The quality was not bad either.  The staff is extremely polite and helpful.  I called front desk a couple of times during my stay asking for additional conditioner and such, and service is always prompt and polite.

    Things you should know:

    - Free parking
    - Free wifi
    - Free breakfast.  Ends at 10am on weekends, 9:30am on weekdays
    - Pool and spa area closes at 10 or 11pm
    - It is under the flight path of MIA.  You will hear planes.  That said, I am a light sleeper generally and the planes did not bother me.  They provide 3D brand ear plugs
    - Has a full kitchen, fridge, microwave and utensils
    - Has coffee pot with complimentary coffee and sugar with cream
    - Bathroom amenities are from Paul Mitchell brand

I would totally stay here again :)

This hotel is truly amazing.  It has everything you need if you plan to cook during your visit including plates and utensils.  They have complimentary breakfast with REAL breakfast like pancakes, eggs, sausage, not just coffee and fruit.  The parking is complimentary at this location.  But I must warn you that since it's near the airport, planes are flying over frequently, but I lived near an airport for years so I didn't bother me, but it may bother someone who is sensitive to sound.

We booked a two room suite for our trip to miami with friends. It was not that great to be honest. The staff is rude. RUDE. And the room was in disrepair.
The front desk clerk was very rude upon check in and almost made me want to leave on the spot.
The freezer in the room had a huge dent in it. Looked like so some had their face smashed in the door. The chairs were torn and old looking. We were unimpressed to say the least.

Great service, rooms are excellent and the only problem was that the cable had some problems making the image bumpy and not as clear as it should
