I stayed here for two nights and my experience has been so so. This was the cheapest Marriott hotel that was vacant on New Year's Eve so we booked it. The receptionist was nice and gave us our keys upon checking in. We were told that the continental breakfast was served in the small room in front of her. Given that we did not eat here I cannot judge the food, but based on the size of the room I doubt there was much viraiety or seating space. Anyway, there are two buildings and we were on the third floor. After dragging half of our stuff to our room we discovered that there is an elevator. Awesome. The room was pretty clean and roomy. The AC worked... but it had a mind of its own as it did not correspond to the temp we put it to. Lucky for us there was an extra blanket in the closet. The bathroom was bit small, but workable. However, showering was not fun as the water went from 'hooray hot' to 'omg, my skin, it burnnnnnnns!' in matter of a second as the lever's weight causes it to fall onto the burn mode. Finally, the parking lot infront of the two buildings is a bit small and half the time we had to park on the other side as there was no ample parking. On the positive side, there is a Starbucks and Einstein Bros. across the street to fuel your mornings.

Very disappointed in Marriott, surprised they would put their name on this place. They should sell it or upgrade it if they care about their brand.

Quality wise it's a very poor facility. The rooms are unattractive and dated. Furniture is cheap and lighting is poor.  The hallways are dingy and dark and the carpet in the elevators is dirty and disgusting. I found mold and ants in the first room I was put in. There are lamp shades with stains on them, scrapped up walls and absolutely nowhere to store anything in the bathroom...not even a shelf.

I was put in a studio because the suite I was suppose to be in had a broken AC unit. As mentioned above the room had serious issues. Once I moved all my things to the new room by myself I noticed that the AC unit still did not work. At least it was a very quick fix when they came to look at it again.

The management was apologetic and offered extra points.

    Overall extremely weak property.

Really disappointed in this place. Rooms are tiny, amenities are lacking, smelled like a cross between big spray and mildew.  Doubt I would ever come back here.  I can't believe Marriott puts their name on this joint!

Good stay stayed here for the race weekend. Better than paying 4 times the price. 30 min drive from race track. Great pool hall up the street next to the gas station.

I needed a room...it's a long story but I found this one and used my Marriot points to stay. So as a result of not using very many points to get the room...my expectations were low.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted promptly and was upgraded to a bigger room due to membership status. I was asked "is there anything else we can do for you?" and all of my questions and requests were taken care of...

I walked to my room and I could not stand but to notice the strong flower smell of the hallways...all the hallways had a strong but pleasant smell...like flowers, really.

I walked into my room and it was well cleaned, smelled fresh, bathroom was super clean and newly remodeled (I'm pretty sure) and the bed was very comfortable.

I also used the laundry room, no issues...lot's of folks had clothes to wash - I get in just in time and had not problems using the machines. I also used the workout room, it was smell...haha...I meant small but I got my workout in...while doing my laundry. They have free weights, one elliptical, a treadmill and folks, that's about it...

I did skip the breakfast so I can't speak to that but generally speaking my experience with Marriott brand hotels is usually that Fairfield Inn's and TownePlace Suites usually have the lower grade breakfast.

It's not a bad deal for the money...I give it four stars for the outstanding service by each employee I came across...warm greets by them all.

Holy Crap...can't forget the free Wi-Fi! You can't beat that...

My family took the red eye and arrived at 9am dead tired.  I knew check in wasn't until the afternoon but thought I would beg, plead or bribe them.

When arriving, they were super nice and said "Sure, let me check".  He didn't have anything but with the help of another employee, they managed to find one in no time.  This was a HUGE deal and made our first day of our trip wonderful.  The alternative was to sleep in the car. I know it cannot always be accommodated but THANK YOU!

They even offered us breakfast since it was still on for another hour.   Technically we didn't deserve it so it was nice of them.  We passed and went straight to bed.  I check it out and it was cereal, bagels, fruit, milk, OJ, coffee, and a few others.  Better than a typical continental breakfast.

The hotel is very nice, this includes the lobby, breakfast area, outside, room, etc but thinking back, everything is small.  The parking lot was a tad small, pool area was squeezed in, room was not big.

The room is very nice and seemed to be new complete with a kitchen, Queen and pull out beds and a nice TV.  The room was big enough but not big.  I hesitantly took off a star because of the room size, else everything else was super.

With a family for more than one night I would prefer the courtyard around the corner even tho I would be giving up the free breakfast.  If it was just me or two people, I might pick this hotel.

    Great stay and great employees.

Stayed for 6 nights while on leave from Afghanistan. Excellent customer service at the front desk. Breakfast was great and the workout room was good enough to get your morning run in. Rooms were VERY clean and maids took care of the room as needed. Bathroom and kitchenette were clean and sanitary. Having a full size fridge was great. Can't find a reason not to give them 5 stars. Attention to detail is important to me and they delivered. Price was right. I'll be staying with them every time I'm in town.

I stayed here for a working staycation, and have to say I enjoyed my stay. My only complaint was that they should have lighting where the dining room table is located. It's semi pet friendly, with a $100 surcharge in order to clean up after your fur child.

After arriving late in the evening (workday plus packing stuff from from home), the front desk employee (Lonnie) was very friendly,  helpful with getting set and pointing out where the elevator and telling me about the WiFi and complementary continental breakfast. The pleasant service continued with the ladies from housekeeping who I ran into Saturday (as I was working the other two mornings of my stay). Even then, I would come back from the office to find my garbage taken out, bed made and room organized.

My "apartment" (yes, granted I was upgraded because of Marriott  Rewards) was about the size of a studio apartment. The carpet was clean enough that it didn't trigger my allergies and the AC was arctic. I was able to set it to the very low 60's which is how I sleep. The shower head was clean, and pleasantly warm. The pool was chlorinated and warm enough for an early evening swim.

Even though it's an extended stay hotel in the Western burbs, they had a paper towel in the kitchen, which was a nice touch.

Based on my last stay,  I'd definitely come back for my next staycation!

I'm usually pretty easygoing when it comes to rating a hotel...I mean, I"m usually only there to sleep, after all, but this TownePlace Suites was awful.

I was overwhelmed by a mildew smell the moment I walked into the suite. It was bad, but since we were in town during a Dolphins game and art week, we didn't exactly have any options after the hotel said they couldn't offer us another room. So we were stuck with 4 days of adapting to the scent of soggy carpet.

I've never stayed in a TownePlace, so I'm not sure if it's the norm, but the rooms weren't very clean, the furniture was faded and worn out, the lighting was poor, and the quality of the room was simply cheap in nearly every way imaginable.

I never expect much from continental breakfasts, but the selection was incredibly limited, and the workout room? Don't bother. There was a nonfunctioning scale, one elliptical, one treadmill, and a limited set of free weights (although I'm unsure how/where you'd find any room to use said weights. Fortunately, the weather in Miami is usually good enough that no one would need to hit the treadmill, but it was a real disappointment.

The lobby computer was a mess (we had to turn the thing off and restart twice) and printer took some work, too.

The positives? Well, the staff was really nice (like, seriously too nice for such subpar facilities), there's free wifi, and the location is "okay." There's not much around the hotel, but there's a Starbucks across the street, a Winn Dixie around the corner, and some chain restaurants for people looking for something dependable nearby. The other eateries in walking distance aren't very exciting, so we explored places further away fro the most part.

I wouldn't recommend this TownePlace unless it's the ONLY place left and you absolutely insist on staying in a suite-style hotel. Just don't expect much.

I have been to other townplace suites and this one is not the greatest. I arrived at night and was told my suite was in the same building where I checked in. Only to find out it was in the other building by the one who checked me in. Had to lug all my luggage across to the other building. There were no signs for an elevator. It was all the way on the other side of building.

Suite looked decent but you can see the wear and tear on the furniture and kitchen stuff.

    Pool is small.

Parking lot is small as well. Not well lite at night.
    Breakfast is continent only.
I chose this place based on my experience with Marriott. Not likely to return here after this stay.

I stayed here for the weekend, and I could not complain. The staff were all very nice, The studio suite was bigger than I thought it would be. I felt very comfortable during my stay there. I was a bit iffy about going because of the reviews. But I had no problems or complaints like in the reviews, it didn't smell like mold, and I didn't have any parking problems. I loved the hotel. and I will return and recommend to people from out of town.
