Updating my review.
While my stars remain the same I am posting additional information:
I will say that make sure when booking this place if you DON'T want to pay for a cancellation fee, make sure you state this fact and confirm it is not included as a charge. The people who are in charge of booking are not the same people who run this resort (it is associated with Diamond Resorts) so there is a disconnect between the two entities. The person I spoke with did not do a good job of explaining this policy. Past dealings with sales persons being ambiguous when it comes to these "gotcha" fees should have been a clue but this slipped by me this time.

"Great Locataion for a Great Price"
First off, this is not a 5 star hotel but with that being said. It was great for the price, hence the 4 stars. It's a little dated but your in Orlando! How much time do you really spend in the room. The room was clean with plenty of space in the main bathroom. I was on the first floor and I could hear the kids above me racing back and forth in their room at night. But, that's not the hotel's fault. The locataion is perfect. Right in the middle from everything and down the street from Downtown Disney. Shopping and restaurants, are around the corner. The service we were given from the staff was perfect. Very fast check in. Free use of the fishing poles, boat/canoe, and all access to the much larger sister hotel next door. In all, I recommend this place, but don't expect it to be like the Waldorf hotel.

My fellow YELPER in Sacramento, California (Ida H) offered me her week at this wonderful resort in Orlando, Florida. How can I refuse that? In Michigan the weather was still very cold so I was excited and said absolutely!!!
Upon arriving I was very impressed with the outside of the units. Beautiful condos all lined up in a row. When we went to the office there was a fountain and we saw these lizard like things all over - they sort of remind me of a Gecko!!! In Michigan we do not have these creatures from the blue lagoon - muahhhh!
Went into the office and there was a young lady who welcomed us to Bryan's Spanish Cove. They even had cookies there for us! She gave us the unit, which luckily it was on the first floor, and when we went there we were pleasantly surprised! We could've brought a whole party with us, the unit was humongous.
Of course, since the unit was offered to me I took the largest room - ha ha ha and let my friend have the other room. King-sized bed, screened in porch, jacuzzi tub, in-room safe, tv with cable and it was all in my room!!! Needless to say I was a very happy camper! Thank you Ida H from Sacramento for hooking me up!
Big kitchen with all the utensils, pots and pans, iron & ironing board - everything one needs to survive in the rugged outposts of the desert! It even had a washing machine and dryer, a dishwasher, and a toaster! I think at that moment that I am going to enjoy my stay in Florida very very well.
The living room had a nice comfortable and sturdy sofa and loveseat, as well as a fireplace and a nice large television with cable and dvr! The sofa turns into a queen-sized bed! Beautiful fireplace and there is a patio door where there is a picnic table out doors. I think I am in my dream condo!!!!
In the morning we go outside and walk to the pool area - short distance. Nice sized pool, jacuzzi with wonderful jets and overlooking Lake Bryan. Perfect. We had a perfect vacation and everyone at the Bryan's Spanish Cove was wonderful!

This is a long over due review that I kept putting on the back burner for sometime. So what sparked me to finally write this was when my best friend got to visit this place, compliments of my parents, and wrote a review before I did! And even though I haven't been back to this area for a number of years, my vacation here is still fresh in my mind. My parents have owned a timeshare condo at Bryan's Spanish Cove since the early 1990's and have enjoyed staying there immensely. During one of my vacations, I was lucky enough to travel along with them. It turned out to be one of the best family vacations of my life! I never realized how great owning a timeshare was until staying here for 2 weeks.
This quiet tropical resort is like a home away from home with maid service. The rooms are spacious, cozy and very comfortable. We had a full kitchen and all the necessary appliances, complete with dining table, two bedrooms and two full baths. Large screen TV's, cable, and a VCR (yes, it was a while ago). Each room has a lovely outdoor patio area with a relaxing view of nature. It was enclosed by a screen that protected us from any flying insects, especially those pesky mosquitoes! A short distance from the condo is the nice pool area with heated Jacuzzi, all pleasantly situated allowing another nice view of Lake Bryan. Paddle boats, canoeing and fishing is permitted, but swimming is not recommended due to the possibility of alligators inhabiting the waters. This lake extends all the way to Disney World! That's right; this place is only a few miles away from "the happiest place on earth"! Bryan's Spanish Cove seems to be centrally located to many popular tourist attractions besides Disney World and Epcot Center. We visited other points of interest such as Universal Studios, Sea World, the Busch Gardens and even the Kennedy Space Center!
Whether you want to explore all the wonders of central Florida or just rest and relax, this condo complex accommodates whatever your heart desires for young and old! I was young back then, and now I'm old, yet I still yearn to return here someday to enjoy another vacation of my life!

Last night the ceiling in the master bathroom began leaking water through the vent and the actual plaster ceiling at a rapid rate. They offered to move us but between the egregious misrepresentation of the word resort, deplorable odor, noise, and river from the ceiling we drove 2 hours home at 2 am to escape our relaxing vacation.
Let me start by saying the accommodations spactially speaking are great large private rooms and large common areas. However the first day we arrived the condo had a musty smell we thought we could air out. That did not work the smell is deplorable and has driven us to sit upstairs in the common area above the guest check in. The smell is so thick it coats the palate and has caused us to determine we will not be staying the out the duration of the vacation. As well as the fact that the lawnmower and garbage removal came at 10 am on a Sunday while we were trying to salvage an ounce of sleep while being able to have the doors open for air during the morning. The road noise is so loud that even if u have the doors and windows shut it is basically like a road through the room. They really need to invest in better windows. Overall not impressed and I have never cut a vacation short due to subpar accommodations.

Vacation to Orlando was made so much more comfortable when staying at a place that feels like a home away from home. Bryan's Spanish Cove did just that. The staff was polite and very professional, everything was ready for us when we arrived.
Our room was so much more than just a room. It was a fully furnished apartment with washer/dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator. The rooms were immaculately clean. Everything you would Need for an extended stay and some. The location was fantastic as it was right on Lake Bryan. Shopping and attractions are less than 10 minutes away. This is a must stay for any vacationing family.
