Great experience staying here - we were able to trade in our Marriott reward points for a nice little weekend getaway - it's super convenient to the tollway and can't be missed.  The Marriott Fairfield Inn is located in a quaint triangle including the Springhill Suites and a Marriott courtyard.  They have a food court here with some stores and we got a coupon for 20% off of our food purchase with a starbucks, pizza hut and TCBY yogurt.  Yum!

Service and staff were excellent - we had a nice room on the 5th floor - their pool area was gorgeous with little fountains there, too.  No complaints - free wireless and free parking!

I genuinely feel I can give this rating because I have Platinum status with Marriott and I always think they deliver a 5 out of 5 except for this instance. This Orlando location can definitely spend some time and focus on some improvements. The internet connection has been horrible. I don't know if it is the location of the room I am in or what but it has prevented me from getting work done. I am not a picky breakfast eater, but one sight of their selection and I walked away. As I was drinking coffee one of the guest in the room was complaining to a staff member that one of their items "looks like dog food" which is absolutely correct. The room that I have doesn't look like the room in the pictures, older worn furnishings and the shower head wasn't attached so it wobbled.  The rooms don't block loud noises very well and the ice machine accross from my room didn't help. Instead of hanging in the lobby, I would go next door to the Courtyard where everything is better.
No complaints about Marriott staff, I think they are always the best in the industry. The owners of this property could make improvements to the Fairfield location.

Great hotel and an awesome value. The service was exceptional starting with the check in. The room was clean, large, well appointed, well maintained and tastefully decorated. I wasn't wow'd by the breakfast buffet (Hampton Inn's is better), but it was good enough and while we were eating, they brought us bottles of water and some snacks to take with us to Universal. Nice touch! We only stayed for one night, but it would work well for a full vacation as there are several good restaurants and a Walgreen's within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Top notch for a budget hotel. Clean, good helpful staff. Breakfast is stocked well and decent- fresh waffle (machine), hard boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, fruit and juice. Would have given it a 5 but the coffee was horrible. Decent facilities- nice workout room. Very close to Universal; many people walk ; it's about a 15 minute walk to the entrance.

Very nice for a budget hotel. We use the Marriott brand almost exclusively and have stayed at Fairfield Inn throughout the country. Some can be pretty modest. This location is more upscale than most. It is located conveniently next to Disney. It is a very busy location, apparently. A breakfast buffet was included. It was very crowded and warm in the breakfast room and the scrambled eggs were the worst that I ever had. I suspect powdered eggs.

If you are considering booking this hotel as part of a Universal Orlando vacation, it's a good selection.  The hotel itself is a fairly intimate property with limited amenities.  However, they have complimentary breakfast in the morning, a decent pool, and bright, clean rooms.  The hotel overall feels quite new, and has a surprisingly refreshing vibe in a neighborhood that's a little rundown.

Possibly the best advantage to this Fairfield is its proximity to Universal.  While it may be a 20 minute walk or so from the hotel door to the CityWalk entrance to Universal (you'll go in by the valet parking area), you can definitely get over there by foot.  Keep in mind that you will have to walk through some parking lots and across the eight lanes of traffic at the intersection of Kirkman Rd and Major Blvd.  Nevertheless, it can be done--I've done it.

This Fairfield is also a Bonus Benefits hotel, meaning that you can get discounts of food, beverages, and merchandise throughout Universal Orlando Resort if you stay here.  Check out the hotel on Universal Orlando Vacation's website to learn more: res.universalorlandovaca…

All was good untill the last day. They were kind enough to let us check in early and the provided clean rooms and  they were average decor. My huge problem is with their free shuttles to the park they pick you up on old musty busses and force you to pick between three times to go home. And if you don't want to go back at the time you picked you have to call 2 hours before the closer time to change(which may or may not be possible). This hotel is down the line on the list off drop offs and it took around and hour on the ride home. Plus the driver drove like a crazy man.
The worst part of hotel was the front desk by far. Two of them were kind and cuirtious. But the younger one thy works at night was rude and short. She told us we had to be down at 7:20 to put our name on the list for the shuttle which left at 10:20, that was not true at all we did not have to come down early at all. And the younger Hispanic man working during the day was the worst. I asked if he would please call a cab and he said he would, said it would be 5-10 minutes. 30 minutes later a town car shows up, this is why it took so long. I asked if the town car would be more and he said no its the same price as the taxi well that was a lie the town car is 15 bucks more. He probably get a commission for booking them and took advantage of us. His bad attitude and rude nature will insure I never return to a Marriott.

I stayed at this Fairfield Inn about  3 years ago when going down to Orlando.  The company I was working for gave me a discounted rate of only $55 a night, so I couldn't pass it up.  I was very pleasantly surprised with how great everything was there as well.  Tons of places to go within walking distance or a reasonable short driving distance.

Universal is maybe a 2 mintue drive (too far too walk), and the other parks and attractions are about 10-15 minutes away.  They also gave us a free breakfast which is a great plus!

Great location and great value!

Chose to book the Fairfield Inn because the rest of our party was staying at the Hard Rock Hotel which is far out of our price range.  For $200+ per night less than the Hard Rock, we got a large very clean, very modern room.

We arrived well before check-in time (9:30 am) and the person working the front desk, Juan, was not only able to check us in, but was able to accommodate a last-minute request to change room type and to put us on a high floor.

The only amenity which we took advantage of was the free breakfast, which was pretty good and certainly better than paying $5 for a danish inside of the parks.  Could've stood to have more fresh fruit options, but that's a minor nit, and probably only specific to me and a handful of others.

All in all, I'd happily recommend this hotel to friends, especially those who don't mind a 15-20 minute walk to the park or a $7 cab ride.  You can spend $120 on the room + $15 for the skip the line pass at the park + $15 in round-trip cab fare, and you are still $200 richer than if you'd paid the premium to stay on one of the on-property hotels at Universal.

Nothing bad to say about my recent stay at this Fairfield.  Not quite feeling the fifth star, but it was briefly contemplated.  If you're considering staying here, i'm going to assume you're visiting Universal.  I can't recommend this place highly enough.

- As others have called out, it's a quick walk or cheap cab ride to the parks.  What i haven't seen mentioned as much is the free shuttle that goes to and from the park.  It's shared with a few of the other hotels in the area, and only goes to the park once in the AM and back twice at night, but that worked out perfectly for us
- Rooms are very large and seem to have been recently renovated
- Price is great considering the location and square footage
- Free breakfast saves you time in the AM - and unlike some free breakfasts, they have a variety of options - cereal, something healthy (fruit, yogurt), waffles, grits, or a breakfast sandwich

This was an excellent place to stay:  wonderful people working in the place from the reception desk to the cleaning crew, all were very helpful.  It was very clean and it had a great breakfast!  Walking distance to Carrabba's, Ale House and Starbucks!

We looked at approximately : 30 different hotels online (from downtown Orlando to Disney Resorts)  and had our picks down to about 3 when we had made a decision on a hotel around the corner from the Fairfield Inn.

It was a 4 Star with a higher price per night, parking fee, internet fee and $12.95 per person for breakfast.
I was willing to pay all those fees just for the fact of I like staying in pretty nice places when we travel.

I check hotels.com at least 3 times a day for any changes.  So, I came across this Fairfield Inn with: free internet, breakfast and parking.  I could not believe it and the pictures looked inviting as well.

We arrived in Orlando exhausted.  It took us 12 hours to drive there and it rained all the way, so traffic was pretty bad.

I can say that "Monica" checked us in quick with no problems and called us 30 minutes after we had been in our room to check to make sure that everything was fine.  The room was very clean, we had shampoo, soap and the entire hotel was packed with guest, but the staff handled it very well.

15 minutes to Disney and 20 minutes to downtown Orlando
quick elevators, that is one thing I love about anyplace I stay

Great pool, workout room and they have a pizza hut on site.

We are already planning another trip back to Orlando in February, just because we had such a great stay.

Wow, so can I be any more behind with my 365 Yelp Challenge?  This what happens when you go out of town...You just get busy doing other stuff.  ANYWAYS

I stayed here with my parents- my mom really wanted to do the early morning at IoA for The Forbidden Journey and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  This is one of the partner hotels that has shuttle service to the theme parks and allows you to get in early.

Just a few things:

Nice sized room- enough space for the 3 of us and all our luggage (one carryon size each)
Breakfast-they had a nice variety of food: hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches that you microwave, waffles, pastries, toast, bagels, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea and hot cocoa and milk.
Bottled water- ask at the front desk
Friendly staff

Room was cleaned and neat each afternoon when we returned and beds were uber comfy. We were at the very end of the hall on the 2nd floor so it was just one flight down to the car...convenient.

I really enjoyed my stay and definitely a recommendation!

My boyfriend and I were in a hurry to find a quick hotel and we figured since it was a Marriott that it would be lovely. We were dead wrong. Although the desk clerk was very nice, we walked into our room to it smelling wet and moldy. We figured maybe it was because the a/c wasn't on.

We woke up the next day to our papers on the desk being almost wet. There was no mini fridge that we were hoping and the cleaning crew never even came in our room to make our beds and give us fresh towels. I seen her in the hallway when we left and it was almost like she bypassed our room.

The location is great but I'd definitely stay at the Hilton or Laquinta Inn, or maybe Best Western right around the corner.

Decent digs, basic accommodations, but an extra star for Free Wifi and a GREAT Breakfast Buffet!

They had a nice coffee bar, a fridge of microwaveable sausage sandwiches and the like, waffles, the standard bagel/pastry/hot stuff bits, and nice fridges with yogurt and individually packaged grapefruits, which were definitely a WIN.  Much better than the standard continental breakfast buffet.

All in all, a cheap, easy, simple offering - don't come expecting a charming kitchey hotel, but a plain and straightforward experience, great for having a place to crash after a long day at the parks.

Rooms are so small compared to other Fairfields. No refrigerator & microwave in room which I never thought of. Breakfast is kind of OK. But rooms are clean. Customer service is good.

We are grateful to the front desk staff for accommodating our family, namely Denis, Vitaly, Ninoska, and Johan. We travelled across America and arrived after midnight to learn that the room we were hoping to upgrade to wasn't available. They directed us on how to make the room upgrade work and worked together to make it happen for us within 24 hours of checking in for the week. Thank you Marriott. I am in Marriott's 3-4 stays a month and every so often do we run into the superior, unmatched service this Marriott team is providing us.

We stayed Oct 3rd and 4th while meeting up with friends flying in from NJ to check out Universal.  The property is very well maintained with a pool and hot tub behind the building.  The front desk staff was very attentive and polite.  The room was clean, with no issues with bedbugs or dirty linen.  We were extremely impressed with how comfortable the mattress was to sleep on!  We had two great nights of solid sleep.  It felt just as good as our memory foam bed at home.  The complimentary continental breakfast had a nice variety of food to choose from, and the coffee was great.  The close proximity to Universal and CityWalk was a definite plus.  Overall, a very pleasant stay.  Highly recommended.

I arrived around 1:30am after calling that my flight was delayed. I checked in with no problem but on arrival to the room, the alarm was ringing on the clock which I turned off and even though its not an hotel issue but probably the previous guest, it was annoying and someone should have turned it off. Anyway the breakfast room attendant was attentive and friendly. I was really glad they had cheese and salsa so I made huevos rancheros to go with my waffle. I was not happy when I found out there is one shuttle to and from Universal leaving around 9am and returning after 7pm. Luckily there are 2 buses from Universal Studios that stop within a 5 minute walk to the hotel for $2. The highlight of my trip was when the shuttle to the outlet did not show up as indicated even after several calls and "be there in 10 min ..or soon", the hotel front desk agent, I believe his name was Johan, got me a taxi at no expense to me. For this extra effort, I have a go to Universal Studios Orlando hotel.

We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night, parking was limited, we quickly checked in, the front desk staff was nice.  We got to the room, it was a decent size, perfect for a family setting with an area for the kids with bunk beds, a desk area & a tv.  There was a king sized bed ready for us.  The positive to this room is that outside the bathroom, there is a small sink with counter area, it was nice to have so while someone is in the shower or the bathroom, others can get ready, brush teeth. etc.   That is probably the only positive I will give this hotel.

We went to eat dinner and arrived back at the hotel at 10.  The only place to park was in the back lot by the pool.  When we pulled back there, there was a dirty trailer parked there with 4 very shady people standing around it, smoking and drinking.  They starred as we all got out of the car.  Around midnight I realized I had forgotten my medicine in the car and had to go back outside, those people were still there.

The room smelled really musty, and felt damp.  The hot water ran out in the shower.

Saturday morning we got up and went down to breakfast.  OMG, it was packed, you had to wait forever to get food, all the tables were full.  The eggs were decent, but the oatmeal was gross, the muffins were stale.  I was very unimpressed.

We spent the day at Disney, coming home around 11:30.  There was no where to park.  We parked next door in the shopping center lot.  We came in and told the front desk, they stated we had to move the car out to the middle of the lot (even further away).  Second night, same issues as the first.  Sunday morning, the breakfast area was the same, so packed we decided to just leave and grab breakfast elsewhere.

Other notes:  The elevator, slow as can be.
The gym looked decent, I didn't get time to use it.
The pool is set right by the back parking lot.  Not nice at all.

I just stayed here to be close to Universal. The hotel breakfast is standard- bread items, juices from concentrate and scary looking eggs and meat products. The room was clean. We ended up in a handicapped room because of my broken leg and I appreciated everything being a bit lower! The front desk staff was helpful with when to arrive at the park, what to go to first to avoid the lines, where to eat etc. There's also a Walgreens in the same parking lot in case you forget anything. I'd stay here again if I was planning to visit the theme park.

I am not giving the Fairfield hotel four stars, I am giving the entire Marriott village four stars, and here is why.

The day I got to my room at Springhill, which is right across, my family made the decision to move rooms to Fairfield because of the space. We quickly got a new room and did not have to pay a price difference, which was great. I had opened up my bag in our new room when I realized my wallet was missing. Quickly, I began to panic and tried to think of every place where I had been so far. I decided to call Springhill to see if maybe I had left my wallet in the old room, but at that moment they had not seen anything. 30 minutes later, I called back just to see if they had found anything -- and they did. I met up at the lost & found station inside Courtyard with one of the cleaners who brought my wallet to me.

It might seem like a minor issue to others, but it really says something about the company and its workers when they return items to you in the condition you remember them being. That is why the Marriott village deserves an honorable mention from me.
