The Grand Bohemian is supposed to be one of the best hotels in downtown Orlando. This is where the Lakers (rumored) to have stayed during the finals vs. Orlando Magic. I would have given the hotel more stars, except I am really annoyed with them!! I arrived late at the hotel and stayed only one night. My room was descent and relatively comfortable, the velvet red curtains shut out all the light and gave it that dark-vampire-boudoir feel, and I was able to fall asleep quickly. I woke up early to the sound of someone knocking on my door. When I opened it, it was room service delivery. I told the guy that I did not order room service, and we were both puzzled and stood there in the hall way. Randomly, a guy came out from the room next to mine, and said that he had ordered room service and probably gave the wrong room number. I figure it was an accident and packed up and checked out of the hotel. However, a month later, when my AMEX statement arrived, I noticed that I was charged an additional ~$45. I called the hotel, and the front desk agent found out it was a room service charge for breakfast. I immediately recalled the incident and told the front desk agent about it. I was told that someone in their guest services department can help me resolve the situation and I was put on hold and then connected to a voicemail. I left a message and waited two days. No one responded. I called the hotel again and told the agent my situation, and was told that someone will contact me to resolve the issue in 3 days. It's been 3 weeks, and I still haven't heard back from the hotel. In all, I was very disappointed at after-care service, and probably would never stay there again. Usually, I'm all for "boutique" hotels, but this really soured my experience. I'm sticking with the big chains, like Starwood, from now on!

We stayed here for the week we were in Orlando, Florida visiting Disney World and we enjoyed it a lot.  Unlike the numerous mass produced Ritz-Carltons, Four Seasons, W Hotels, and the Disney-esque hotels, the Grand Bohemian has a boutique style all its own, although it used to be the Westin Grand Bohemian.

As soon as you walk in you know you've arrived at a unique place.  Bohemian is the style.  Their motto: "an experience in art, music, food and hospitality."  The walls are adorned with all sorts of art, the interior is decorated in bold, rich, colors (mostly deep reds, blacks, golds).  The Grand Bohemian Gallery houses over 150 works of fine art which are available for purchase. The Bosendorfer lounge is a popular lounge to the area for nightly entertainment and live jazz.

The rooms have a luxurious and eclectic feel.  The Bohemian style is followed into the rooms, where the sofas are velvet, the colors are rich, and the beds are Westin's signature Heavenly Beds.  We had a great view of the city.  Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy the rooftop pool; it was too cloudy and it started raining when I was in the jacuzzi.

The only con of our stay was one incident of room service, hence the 4 stars instead of 5.  Late night we had a bad experience with the hotel receptionists who were handling our order.  We waited over an hour and our food still hadn't come.  We call in and the hotel receptionist claims we canceled our order.  She insists we canceled it and talks to us as if we have no idea what we are talking about and that we're the ones at fault.  Eventually she says she'll re-submit the order for free except this time it's too late to order from the regular menu so we have to order from the very limited late night menu.  What really shocked us is she talked to us in slang "What's that again big daddy?" and we have to spell our menu items for her when we re-order.  Well, obviously in the morning first thing we did was talk to the manager.  She took off the room service order charge and gave us 2 dinner certificates.

Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much.  I wouldn't say it's a hotel for families such as the Disney hotels, but for upscale leisure travelers and business travelers, I would say this is the best choice in Orlando.

The hotel reminded me of The Night Before Christmas in a good way!  The rooms were nicely appointed.  The beds were very comfortable.  The restaurant was really good.  I ate at least 3 meals there and had many drinks in the bar.  The most memorable meal was a lunch I had.  I don't think we have many wedges here in California.  That is a shame.  It is a wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with blue cheese, bacon, and blue cheese dressing.  YUM!  The bar had a stellar bloody mary too.

Beautiful hotel located in downtown Orlando.  The lobby is decorated in a neoAustrian manner and very pretty.  The rooms are nice and big w/ heavenly beds and a bathroom that made me want to sleep in the tub :)  Decorated in the same style as the lobby, I really felt like I was in a resort.
The attached restaurant is DELICIOUS!  My personal recommendation woudl be for the pork chop.  I've never had one that tasted SO GOOD!

I live in GA, so Orlando is practically my backyard.

This is only the 2nd hotel I've ever stayed at that has a rooftop pool. I've booked rooms that are more comfortable at other Orlando properties, but the food and service more than made up for that. This is more of a business hotel (booked on getaroom.com ), which is what I was here for. I liked the downtown location as well, and the hotel happened to be near my cousin's house.

wow, this hotel had an amazing bed, great free breakfast on the concierge level and a gorgeous lobby. very funky, very different...the room didnt wow me like i expected and i think that explains mitesh's review (which i agree with) from the lobby and the quality of the restaurant - you really expect A lot from this hotel.

well it's a four diamond hotel, so it's gonna be pricey.. but if you can afford it, it's worth it..

we stayed there for a girl's night out in downtown.. (church st. basically)..it was only a few minutes walk from there so it made it very convenient.

loved the dark decor and dim lighting of the entire building (inside)..and the lovely jazz music you hear once you enter the hotel.... guest services was polite and wonderful.. and the view is so beautiful looking out from our room...and the beds and sheets are the best i've had so far.. it's a quiet and peaceful place, you couldn't hear the neighbors and rarely saw people in the hallway...

the cons (hence the minus one star).. i appreciate the artwork in the room, but something about seeing sober female portraits in a dim room gives me an uneasy feeling..   i thought for a place like that.. valet parking should have been complimentary instead of a 20 surcharge.. and the drop off/drive way was really small and tight....one of the dual shower head in our bathroom was not working.. the ice pile was dirty (like staining around the rim that you can't really get off, rust maybe?), and i think they might need to change the ice machine's filter..

other than that, everything else was wonderful, i just regret not checking out the pool area and art gallery..

Very nice hotel ran into several stars while we were there.  Including a fun boy band.  The rooms were nice but this is the only hotel we have ever had anything stolen.  Someone stole a new pair of children's shoes.  Very annoying.  Other than that we had a great time.

Orlando has a true Boutique hotel that is not tied to a rodent nor an amusement park.

I liked the lounge area, and the spinning of tunes on Friday night is a hip-hop / jazz / modern pop. The Memorial Day Friday that I was there was probably a poor time to review this place, as most of the bars downtown (that extend within 5 blocks of the hotel) was pretty dead.  However, the crowd that was there were heavily in town residents and small groups of over aged ladies of the night... noticeably absent for me were the expected hipsters, new 6 and 7 figure salarites and the millionaire pretenders.

If you are familiar with late 90s, early 00's downtown Orlando, the bar was a lot like YBors opposite the Blue Room without being packed in there like sardines, and much better artistic tastes.

My Fiancée wanted to get married at the Grand Bohemian.  Let me start by saying I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED.  We held your hotel to high expectations, but were disappointed time and time again throughout our stay.  This was for my Fiancée's birthday.  We wanted to check the place out before we decided on a wedding date.  I made reservations on the phone.  I specifically asked the representative to reserve a top floor Jacuzzi Suit with a nice view.  I also specifically asked her if the rooms had DVD players.  The representative assured me that all the Suit's were on the top floor and EVERY room had a DVD player?  So when we checked into the hotel, we were escorted to our room on the 12th floor.  The room was Dirty!  The bed was not made; with the sheets, comforter, and dirty towels on the floor!  Wow!  So this is how our stay at your glorious hotel begins?  I then looked for the DVD player which was promised to me.  No DVD player to be found.  The bell-boy said he would take care of it.  So the bell-boy then advises us that the only room that is "clean," is on the 7th floor.  So we are escorted down to the 7th floor, and settle into a different Suit with a substandard view that I was looking for.  Ten minutes later, a knock on our door.  A man walks in with this Huge T.V. stand with drapes on it?  It has a DVD player wired onto it?  "Where am I supposed to put this," I asked the man.  He replied, "I don't know?  But it's here now."  Then he turned around and walked out the door!  This is ridiculous!  Now we have this bulky outdated T.V. stand taking up half of our room.  So we called down to the front desk to have them take the "DVD player," slash 'T.V. stand' away.  Very high class, might I add.  You see because my Fiancée wanted to sleep in and watch movies the next morning.  I then called down to the front desk to get a late check out, and they advised me that "It would be no problem; I just had to call back at 6:30 a.m. to request a late check out."  So we went out Downtown, and came back to the Hotel at 2:30 a.m.  We called down to the front desk to have some extra towels brought up to the room.  The towels never came!  Our stay gets even more high class by the minute!  So I set my alarm for "6:30 a.m.," then call down to the front desk to get a late check out.  The representative advised me that there were going to be no late check outs.  But wait, here's the kicker!  The ice machine on our floor was out of service.  Right?  Again, my expectations of the Grand Bohemian our spit back in my face.  I would also like to add, that the ice machine on our floor was out of service.

I would like to thank you for showing me the Grand Bohemian's true colors.  I am grateful to have spent my money on a 5-star Hotel, and to receive 1-star service.  I will never stay at your hotel again!  I will also, Not be planning my Wedding at a truly despicable, appalling, and disgraceful establishment.  You should be ashamed of yourselves.

So far my experience with this hotel has been poor. I tried to book the hotel on the Marriott general reservation number and the call center representative's English was so poor he couldn't understand the dates I was trying to book and he kept booking me for the wrong dates. He couldn't enter my Marriott rewards number and when I called the hotel, naturally there was no manager and no assistant available to speak to. Big disappointment for what appears to be a nice hotel. I did leave a message for the general manager to call me back. We will see.

Had such a great stay here for the Tears for Fears concert in Orlando.  All thanks to the outstanding customer service we got from the girl at the front desk!!  She made our stay so wonderful...all because she said she liked my son's hat.  I think her name was Maryanne?  Anyway she rocks and so does this hotel.  Good thing we had such a great view of the concert from our room, because the sound was so bad at the concert that you could not hear it when you were on the ground, but we could hear it and see it from the huge windows in our suite!  We had a living room with a fold-out couch, a wet bar, and a master bedroom with connecting bathroom, via the shuttered jacuzzi tub!  Sooo great!  What a wonderful stay!  Thank you!

I was in Orlando on business, so not going to stay at Disney.  It's been a number of years since I've been to Orlando and I've was shocked to check out the downtown night life.  It was fantastic.  Right in the middle of all of this was the Grand Bohemian.  The rooms were adequate, the price was a little high, but overall acceptable.  I loved the bar and the staff was first rate.  Overall, I'll stay every time I come to Orlando.

My stay at the Grand Bohemian Hotel lasted from 2:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., but I am absolutely certain it deserves these five stars for that specific time slot.  I wish wish wish I could have spent more time here because it is immaculately decorated and I could have spent a few hours wandering the hotel for the interior design alone.

We arrived to the Grand Bohemian after an intense day of non-stop travel, missed connections, and unfortunate experiences at MIA that resulted in our DRIVING FROM MIAMI TO JACKSONVILLE in the middle of the night.  After driving through what seemed like hurricane-force winds to our shocked California senses, we pulled in the driveway to find a valet guy waiting, yes, waiting at 2:30 in the morning.  It was a beautiful sight.

The front desk staff was just as attentive -- we had called for directions an hour or so before and they remembered us from the phone and had the paperwork for our reservation ready.  We literally got out of our car, checked in, and crawled into bed within 8 minutes of arrival.

The Grand Bohemian used to be part of the Starwood Hotel chain (Westin, Sheraton, W, St. Regis, etc), so I was excited about the potential to earn some Starpoints; however, the hotel has since been sold or somehow become independent of the chain, so no points for me.

This is my favorite upscale-all-occasion venue. Frequently, the hotel restaurant would invite guests to sample the 5-course wine pairing menu. It is an absolutely must-go! Since orlando isn't populated enough to house "big city" cocktail lounges, grand bohemian has filled my need for a classy piano bar and jazz music. If you are around on Sunday, try out their brunch!

Grand Bohemian Hotel is smack dab in the middle downtown Orlando. It is definitely one of the fancier hotels in Orlando (not including any of the Disney stuff).  The hotel is pretty unique in that it has kind of an art gallery feel to it.  The lobby hasa wine room, restaurant, bar and art gallery attached.  Not to mention very secretive door that leads into the local Starbucks (always a plus for a Seattlelite on the road!).  The rooms were spacious and well laid out.  I think the fairly high end cost of the place (about $229/night) kept out much of the crowds so it was pretty peaceful.  Art work is all-over this place, mostly Bohemian portraits (hence the name) that makey.  The work out facility is pretty small but I doubt you came to Orlando to stay indoors much.  The pool is on the 6th floor roof with a decent number of lounge chairs in the shade.  Didn't get to try the restaurant as the prices seemed a bit on the steep side.  Staff and valet were always very friendly and always asked if I needed directions anywhere.  Overall, would recommend this place.

This is a nice hotel for the price.  The only issue here is the management, they are just not very forward thinking and accommodating.  I had several friends stay here recently and they all had a fine time, but some small requests that we had asked for turned into a huge deal for the hotel and it just seemed a bit strange that they didn't really want to work with us.  When I say work with us, I should say, "work with us so that we can spend more money at your hotel/establishment" and not have to go somewhere else to watch football"... but overall, I really do like this place, and for downtown, I don't think there is any better place to stay.

This hotel is in the heart of Orlando only a few miles away from everything. Expect to pay ALOT if u stay here this is mainly a business hotel for does coming to Orlando, the lobby has a lounge that is very expensive for any ones taste and u have to pay allot to eat or drink here u are better of walking a few miles and going to some of the restaurants or bars near by..this is only a good place if u are rich or on a date an d want to show off and be creative other then that no point in coming here just for a "hang out" day unless you are loaded with money .

Stayed here four days in the middle of the hurricane.  The staff is really friendly, beds are comfy, rooms are decent size and very clean.  Not the most super-modern of furnishings, but everything is tasteful and well cared for.  Rooms are very quiet.  Bedding is excellent.

Gym is pretty small but has all the usual stuff.  Outdoor pool is beautiful.  Bar and restaurant are pretty good, although there some great food choices in walking distance.

Front desk staff were all very nice and great with directions and suggestions.  There is fantastic art everywhere in the hotel, it's a pretty impressive collection from all over the world.

It is as good as any of the better chains (Westin, etc), but without that 500-room anonymous feeling.

Will definitely stay here again when I'm in town.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. The hotel was aptly named Grand Bohemian. Rooftop pool was amazing. They have a collection of paintings that are pretty pricey. The rooms and the whole hotel ambience is all about class. Very friendly staff. They have a restaurant on  the ground floor called the Boheme. Good food and excellent service.
As you step out of the elevator from your suite you veer left to the bar and you will be inside the Bosendorf. They also have a person playing the piano before you reach the hostess it's next to the Boheme.
The Klimt Rotunda Lounge is the main bar.
Overall our waiter was excellent. He would magically appear when you need your glasses refilled as if on cue. One thing I noticed that is different from other places is thta you offer them a credit card to start a tab but they say it's ok we'll take care of it later. I think they guess that if you're there drinking they think you can afford your tab.:)
I stayed in their suite. If you stay in their suite they give you access to their Concierge Lounge where you have free b'fast and more booze. ok ok ok they also serve fruits and eggs and cereal and blah blah blah stuff.
The room was great. bed was I'd say average. The maid service was the disappointing part. She did not fold the ironing board and put it back in place. She also did not give me more soap and shampoo.
Overall-I will stay here again and this time will check out their entire painting collection.

We stayed for the Kiss concert which also happened to coincide with our wedding anniversary. We had booked two months in advance and when my husband booked it he had put in the notes that it was our anniversary. When we arrived the front desk clerk advised us that because it was our anniversary, they upgraded us to the jacuzzi suite! We were totally thrilled! It was a fabulous room! We were only there for maybe twenty minutes when there was a knock at the door. It was housekeeping with a tray of chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of sparkling water and an anniversary card! We were so thrilled! We then left the hotel for an early bite to eat before the concert... A pizza joint about a block away called Gitto's Pizza. AWESOME pizza! Afterwards, we returned to the hotel to dress for the concert. Upon arriving back to our room, we found a bottle of champaign on ice waiting for us! WOW! The hotel is beautiful, themed around the art gallery that is on site.   All the staff was very attentive and made us feel very special! I couldn't possibly give it enough stars! Thank you, Grand Bohemian for making our anniversary so extra special!

Stayed here for a few days recently and needless to say it was incredible. The staff was amazing, the valets were excellent except for the fact that they adjusted the seat to extreme levels in the car, I'm a coffee junkie and having a starbucks right there in the lobby is always a winner in my back. Loved that there were plenty of restaurants and night life just a block away. Downside was there was some construction outside the hotel, the occupy people were a bit noisy on the weekend, and the hot tub was out of service. Had a great couples massage at the spa. All in all a great experience, will definitely be returning to stay here the next time I'm in Orlando.

I've been to the Grand Bo, as I like to call it for short, for two different events and have been very impressed both times. Their staff is attentive, the space is beautiful, and the food, which not the best I've ever had, was pretty decent.

The Grand Bo is a unique little boutique hotel that offers art fans a gallery, and some very nice meeting space, rooms, and restaurants. The rooms are also very decently priced. While I didn't end up reserving one for myself, I popped in to visit a friend between conference sessions and it looked very comfortable- and all for $90/ night (at that time).

The staff is also very accommodating. This is the first event I've been to where the soda/water bar never emptied, the coffee was always hot, and there was always someone available to answer a question or provide directions. They also reserved some very exclusive space last-minute in the Boehme restaurant for clients of ours and provided amenities with a moment's notice.

While the food in the banquet spaces didn't stand out, I've heard the Boehme is one of the best spots in downtown Orlando. I'm going to give it a try one of these days and write a follow up review, stay tuned!

At first glance I thought that our stay at this hotel was going to be exceptional...
Just goes to show about first looks!

Although the Grand Bohemian is a treat for the eyes, the most important part of my stay is my room, specifically my bathroom and my bed.

The staff was very nice, but the room was a nightmare.  The room lock refused to work so I had to wait for an engineer.  FYI rooms 1026 & 1426 are handicapped with no tub and hot water is regulated, so you can take a cool shower but only that.

Our stay was so short they wouldn't change our rooms, I recommended they notify people beforehand so that they can decide if they still want to book.  They informed me they were full and offered me two drink tickets... I would of still preferred hot water and a bath, but they say the hot water works now.

2 drinks vs. a locked door and a hot shower?
Call me lame but I did want the shower.

Poseidon Spa:  Well, we were staying in an expensive hotel... one that itself is quite overrated.  But, the Spa staff was kind and caring... one just expects and deserves to receive much, much more for the truly-high-priced spa massage services offered here.  The "tissue massage" description I was given on the phone made me wonder "What the heck type of massage is it?"  Shiatsu, always my favorite and most professionally practiced massage around the world, is not offered. Instead they practice Swedish massage... but one can't imagine traveling to Orlando for such work. Basically, it's a rubbing style of massage... with oils acting as the methodology for smooth operations.  I was several times told/offered/baited with "a deep tissue massage for an extra $20 per hour."  All in all, it was just a little too undistinguished and "ho hum" for my extremely experienced tastes.  My 12 year old son did enjoy his, this I know because I could hear him snoring slightly, 3 feet across the room from me.  Why not?  Dad was paying.  Ho Ho,  R

As an afterthought, the "ladies fared a little better," only one of them was displeased with their nail work.

So, 2/4 family-thumbs up, 2/4 family thumbs-down!

.500 doesn't usually win at any level of competition.

Anyway, we leave today... so life is still perfect.

I wasn't here for the Mouse.  Work brought me to Orlando, and this was recommended to me as a more upscale place to stay downtown.  The decor is pretty funky; lots of bold, dark colors, artwork on the walls, a random skeleton.  The staff was really nice, and the bar and restaurant were good, too.  There's a small outdoor pool on the sixth floor.  That said, my room was pretty average.  Not too big and a little dated; I expected more for the price and the grand looking entrance downstairs, but would probably stay here again.

I agree with a lot of the positive things that have been posted about The Grand Bohemian. The location is great, the facilities are beautiful, and it is definitely a unique experience when compared to chain hotels.

But, it's expensive for what it delivers. I've been lucky enough to stay in some pretty amazing hotels around the US and Europe, and I just don't feel that The Grand Bohemian is quite up to par. For example, the price that was quoted to me when I made the reservation was $30 less than I actually paid. This was explained to me as a "clerical error". The management did nothing to try and remedy this, which is not exactly 4 Diamond service.

As far as Orlando hotels go, this is still a good bet if you're looking to avoid the attractions area. I just think it could use some extra polish when it comes to customer service.

Love love love this hotel. Artsy, cool vibe, great staff, room service is prompt and delicious. Even on the busiest nights, room service takes no longer than 40 minutes. I've stayed over 8 times in the past 18 months, and the everyone from the desk agent to the valet guys remember you! Amazing customer service

The beds are sumptuous. Pillows are soft and billowy just the way I need it after a coast to coast flight. Being that I fly in on a red eye usually, I need to go to sleep as soon as I get to my room, so the heavy purple velvet drapes black out the light perfectly so I can fall asleep easily to adjust to the time change.

If it's in your budget, ask for the room with the garden tub. It's the best room there, I try to stay in it every time. Those who have had it understand the decadence of these rooms.

Tip: Avoid the green cabs (Gator taxi) at all costs. GROSS inside and the drivers are sheisty. Ask the valet guys to call you a town car. It's about the same amount as a cab ride to Millenia Mall. $25 bucks. So you're still riding in style, but not contracting scabies from a gross cab ride.

The Grand Bohemian is a great place to stay when visiting Orlando or, as in our case, Winter Park.  Our daughter is currently studying at Rollins College and this hotel is a short distance - less than 10 minutes by car.  Plus, all of the nightlife and downtown events are walking distance.  Downtown Orlando at night is filled with clubs, bars and restaurants.  During out stay, there was an incredibly fun art festival at Lake Eola Park, which we walked to.  Our room at the Grand Bohemian was clean and large, with a good feel to the bed and white, fluffy linens.  Service throughout was efficient, including the valet.  One big plus was the fact that even though I had initially made our reservation during a web-sale that didn't allow changes, the hotel administration graciously allowed us to use our discounted rate at a later date that better suited our travel plans.  The art gallery is a lovely place to spend time and while we are not big fans of Starbucks, having one in the lobby is convenient.

Consistently, the Grand Bohemian has the best entertainment in Orlando.  This is the single venue that you can always hear the best local jazz artists nightly, and sit down to a good drink.  Irrespective of the hotel itself (which is top notch), locals and travelers alike can enjoy the prime opportunity to see the best in local music any day of the week, and for the Sunday jazz brunch.  Highly recommended to anybody.

Can we talk about how amazing it is that the bath tubs here have two shower heads?  Not one, but two.  And they're connected.  It's like Siamese shower head action.  There are very few things I love more in life than a hot steamy shower.  I have a fetish for those rainfall shower heads (maybe because I don't own one at home) like at the Ace Hotel.  But I'm just as happy to double fun the with an extra shower head, too!

Obviously, the location is unparalleled.  For any business traveler looking to stay in Downtown Orlando, there's no comparison for convenience and quality.  Believe me, I've tried.

Plus, the kitsch factor of this hotel is out of control.  I walked into my room on the eve of my check-in, and here was low-key jazzy music playing from the CD player/clock/alarm on the nightstand.  *screech*  Rewind.  Yes.  CD player.  The music was on a CD.  What decade are we in?!

The only slight pet peeve I have about this joint irks me about hotels the nation over: why charge for wi-fi?  Honestly?  Why is this not baked into the cost of a hotel room stay?  I'm fortunate in that I travel with my own wireless connection (thanks to Verizon), but it's the principle of the matter.  This is a venue that caters to the traveling business person.  What businessman in 2010 does not require wi-fi during a work trip?  (/rant)

Everything else aside, there really isn't anywhere better to stay when on an excursion to Downtown Orlando.  And if you're feeling especially lardy, don't forget to drop in downstairs to give The Boheme a try.  No regrets there, either!  (Unless you count the increased waist size...)

Stayed here a few times, but most recently on my wedding night and it was just lovely as usual. I had not experienced the jacuzzi suite until a couple of months ago and it was totally worth any extra cost. Not sure what that cost would be since the room was a wedding present but it was sooo worth it!!
The entire hotel, rooms, pool...it's all gorgeous. I enjoy staying here even though I live minutes away. Love it.

This hotel is pretty awesome.  I was really impressed with the "Paris meets old New Orleans" feel of the place.  The lobby and elevator banks house cool works of art throughout the hotel.

The valet, front desk and restaurant staff were pretty amazing.  Whatever I needed was there, no questions asked.  And I never waited.  I would call down and my car would ready by the time I reached the front door.

Other highlights:
Large rooms done in dark, warm colors; bed was large and comfortable
Outstanding customer service and extremely pleasant staff
Medium-size workout facility
The pool deck was very chic, done with streamline modern furniture and a nice veranda (but the water wasn't very clean, due to heavy rain)
Great restaurant inside the hotel with live entertainment each night
Extensive wine bar
Walking distance to attractions (Lake Eola, the new arena for the Magic, great local restaurants)
Starbucks accessible through the lobby

If you're going to Orlando and staying downtown, I would HIGHLY recommend this place.  I know I'll definitely stay here again. They're AAA Four Diamond awards in 2009 and 2010 are well deserved!

This hotel was... well... sexy!

Decided to book a night here for a mini-staycation because it's so close to the clubs. The lobby is gorgeous and sparkly and the staff was uber friendly.

My room was decorated in reds, blacks, and silvers and had a sassy jazz vibe going. They even had a jazz cd playing in the CD player. The bed was so soft and fabulous that I slept like a rock. The only downside was that the room had a connecting door to another room and I could hear the people next door loud and clear a few times during the night... nothing fun, just talking. :0(

The Denver Nuggets happened to be staying here that night because they had a game the next day against the Magic so the place was packed with groupies and club whores. Kind of fun entertainment!

Had Sunday brunch the next morning in their restaurant and it was small but well worth the $50/per person because there were some really inspirational dishes on the buffet.

If you're going to be doing anything downtown during your stay in Orlando, this is definitely THE place to stay.

Since Marriott took over this hotel and the Sheraton took over the older Marriott on Livingston, I've made this my official headquarters for business trips to Downtown Orlando.

Other reviews aptly describe the plush interiors.  So you get a little hint of luxury while traveling on business without having to pay luxury prices (typically).  The hotel is in a great location -- close to everything and down the street from several restaurants and a movie theater.  Also, the ramp to I-4 is nearby.

On some stays the staff is overwhelmingly friendly.  On other days, I can't find anyone to help me with my bags or open the door.  They only offer valet parking and at $20 the price is steep.  However, the staff will run to the car for me if I've left something there and bring it to me.  They are super quick to retrieve the car when I call from my room.

Room service has a great selection of food.  The bar makes great cocktails.  I love the fact that the rooms provide you ample space for a desk and a couch so you can work without feeling crowded. My only complaint is that the rooms are really dark.  Dim lights and darkly colored decor.  I think the beds may still be the "Heavenly Beds" from the Westin, because I find them divine.

One of these days I'm actually going to go into the pool and fitness center -- they look very inviting.  I've only had a chance to sit by the pool to do work, but was pleased by the fact that I could order room service at the pool and have food and drink brought to me.

Also neat is that this Marriott has HBO!  It's the simple pleasures for me!

Don't like to make your own coffee and you don't like to pay for internet service in the room?  Then you can easily go downstairs to the Starbucks which offers free wi-fi and friendly service.

Everytime I step into the lobby, I feel like secure knowing I can get some work done and sleep well in a comfy bed.

The Grand Bohemian certainly is grand. From the moment you pull up, there's a lot of color and flair coming at you. Opulently decorated, with the obligatory Aston Martin and Bentley valet parked out front, the marbled flooring in the entrance way is the foundation to a skyward-climbing ceiling. Bold reds, trimmed in haughty gold and deep velvet, a strange statue welcomes you to the hotel lobby, a beacon that beckons you to take a peek at their art gallery. Just beyond, the lounge and restaurant echo the aesthetic, ceilings soaring, bar shining. An oversized figurine bathed in gold holds court from her perch above the bar. Whimsical, kind of gaudy, somewhat decadent.

The rooms are not quite the show-offs, with more simple decor, a few paintings and muted tones accented by subtle splashes of color. There are distinct sleeping/working/relaxing spaces. A couch and desk share one room, while the bed and TV stand are grouped together just far enough from them to create a bedroom/living room/office feel. The bed itself is very comfortable, with a bit of a firm mattress.

The bathroom affords you plenty of space to sprawl out when grooming, and there is indeed a dual shower head equipped with plenty of water pressure. The amenities were a brand I didn't recognize, but I did notice that the soaps were replaced completely on my second day, despite the fact that I only used them once.

Excellent for business travel and couples, not so much for families.

I would have given this place four or maybe four+ stars only if I hadn't remembered the rudeness of the staff at the front desk.

Me and my co-workers were enjoying hanging out at the couches in the lobby after dinner one night until the lady at the front desk started staring us down and eventually came by and asked us to leave without explaining the reason why. We said we'll leave in a few minutes after we finish our drinks, but she continued to harass us and later got her boss (probably the night Manager) who asked us to leave as they had to make some promotional video at the front desk. Weird, we weren't even anywhere close to the front desk.... And thats how they treat their four paying guests?? Oh well! they lost my business as I am not staying at Grand Bohemian again.

Now I think of it, the decor of the hotel (specially the lobby and restaurant area) is just creepy and hideous.

Certainly a lovely spot to stay while in Orlando (assuming you're not in town to see Mickey) and I hope I get the opportunity to return at some point in the near future.

I loved the non-chain feeling of it all, with original artwork scattered in the rooms and throughout the hallways, meaning no Shining-like feeling when making your way to and from the elevator. The rooms are well appointed, with big desks and full sized couches: loads of space for whatever you might need. I especially liked the space in the bathroom, with the large countertop to spread out my things and great lighting. I was less impressed with the double showerhead: I found it more awkward than anything else.

The staff was wonderfully friendly throughout my visit and since I didn't get a chance to check out that rooftop pool this time around I definitely look forward to a repeat visit.

The only thing that surpasses the beauty of this hotel is the excellence and professionalism of its staff.  I didn't want to leave when my five nights were up.

I was lucky enough to be on the concierge floor, where I enjoyed a lovely breakfast and substantial dinner hors douevres each night.  They called the breakfast "continental," but it was much nicer than the usual dull muffins and juice that passes for continental breakfast in most hotels.  Beautiful cut fruit, classy mini-quiches, well-made oatmeal -- it was a pleasure waking up to that each morning.

I can't say enough about the staff.  Every single interaction I had with any staff member, from valet parking dudes to bartenders to concierge staff, was a delight.

This was a hotel which accomplished the highest goal a hotel can reach:  It got out of my way and let me enjoy my stay in Orlando.

I can recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation.

This hotel is very pretty and comfortable but there are a lot of issues. I travel to Orlando twice a month on business and use to stay here because of its convinient location. After a few issues, I decided the issues were more inconvenient than the location was; in other words not worth it. Issues: twice I was charged $250 fee for smoking in room. I DID NOT! This became a fight that I ended up escalating to AMEX for them to resolve. Multiple times I was charged items from the mini bar THAT I DID NOT TAKE. This too became an argument and I was called liar to my face on multiple occasions. After so many issues, I have concluded that I strongly dislike this hotel. Yeah, you might see Nancy Grace or a Carmel Anthony at the lobby or elevator but is that worth the grief?
I truly dislike this hotel!
PS- the lightling in the bathroom is terrible!

The Grand Bohemian is the place to be if you ever want to stay in Orlando proper. The hotel itself is in a great location. My prior experience with Orlando involved the usual Disney fare. I was surprised to see that Downtown Orlando can be a fun time in a very non-Disney way. You can expect more bars, restaurants and clubs than your liver can handle. Mix that with warm weather and UCF co-eds. Be prepared for some late nights.

Back to where you'll be sleeping at the end of those long nights or early mornings.  The first thing you will likely notice about the hotel will be the auto show parked near the entrance. Despite the shameless attempt to make the hotel seem important, it sets the tone for what promises to be a swanky stay.

Forget about the cars though because the staff is far more impressive. I had stayed for the week and had to extend my stay into the weekend at the last moment. The staff did everything they could to make sure my co-workers and I could stay in the same rooms over the weekend.

The rooms are just as nice and clean as you would expect for the price. If you can swing it, go for the Jacuzzi suite. The only downside I could find would be the thin walls in a town with so many party spots.

All in all a great place to stay if you are ever in the area.

Awesome art work and great customer service. The floor had ~30 rooms and 18 original pieces of art in the halls. Some are for sale and others appear to be part of their collection.  The room was stylishly decorated with a purple velvet couch and chair. Huge bathroom with a jacuzzi tub in the suite. This was an great experience. I will be back next time I am in Orlando

This hotel could be much better than it is.  Its nice on first impression, but the details are not at the level of a luxury hotel.

What I liked:
1) Great location
2) Nice decor
3) Great atmosphere

What I did not like:
1) Room seemed like it wasn't clean.  More wear and tear (chipped furniture, stains on carpet and walls, etc.) Maid service was fine, but still I prefer the room to be spotless and clean.
2) The place smells bad.  I'm not sure how to place the smell, but it seems like it is unclean.  It may be chlorine related.  I definitely found the scent disturbing.
3) Very basic bathroom with weak shower pressure.
4) No HD flat panel TV.  A hotel charging over $200 a night should not have crappy cathode ray tubes.

Stayed here this week for a quick overnight.  I previously stayed at a sister property in Savannah, so opted to try the Orlando version.  The hotel is in a great location with lots of options for lunch, dinner and nightlife within walking distance.

The valet, the front desk, the concierge and the lounge staff were all extremely helpful, attentive and friendly - what a service treat!

The room was spacious and comfortable.

The concierge lounge had a great happy hour.  Anna was tending the bar - she provided wonderful service and enjoyable conversation.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It was immaculate and plush. I absolutely loved it. It's decorated beautifully, no detail left unfinished and even the elevator makes you feel like you're a superstar. I was here for a few days and will definitely go back when in Orlando. The location is good although it was a little difficult at first to figure out where to park but the valet guys were awesome. I left a bag in my car and when I came back down to get it the valet guy actually ran to go get it out of my trunk after he'd already parked it and handed it to me with a smile.

You don't have to leave the hotel for anything and even if you do, you're close to anything you'd want/need. There's even a movie theatre a block away! My room had a huge Jacuzzi tub with huge shutters that opened up to the bedroom, which makes it good for couples for a romantic night or the traveling diva (a-hem) that wants to watch trublood in the tub while talking on the phone...lol...All-in-all I'd have to say the service was great, location was great, room was great and the price was even better for what you get. What more could you ask for?

Had a wonderful girls' overnight stay here! Beautiful hotel, lobby, rooms, and view! Everyone from the valets to the front desk staff were very friendly.

The hotel is older and you can tell by some of the things in the room. It was a bit humid and warm when we first arrived in the room. It had that old apartment smell. The A/C controls were ancient and made it a bit hard to control the temperature. The tubs are cracked and older looking. However, that didn't take away from the wonderful time we had there.

There was also wonderful music playing when we walked in the room, and the beds were very comfy as you expect from a Marriott property.

Perfect place to stay for a night or weekend if you want to go downtown and not have to worry about driving. It's within walking distance of most places and a cab or rickshaw ride for others.

I don't bathe often. Shocking, I know.*

I figure once or twice a year is sufficient. However, if my personal shower was as nice as that of the Grand Bohemian, I could foresee a significant increase, perhaps as much as fourfold.

Their double showerhead is the nicest I have encountered, other than those awesome showers that rain down on you, and it might even surpass those in terms of awesomeness. Its pressure is strong, yet still gentle. Much like myself. Combined with their Bohemian Essence products, I feel like a new man on the way to the airport.

And although I didn't particularly care for their phone reservation service (I don't like that their best rate is only available through pre-payment), the nice people at the desk were more than accommodating. They mailed my letter for me! I had leftovers, and although they don't have mini-fridges in every room, they offered to have one brought to me, which is really more trouble than anyone should go to on my account, so I declined.

There was also soothing music playing when I walked in, which is apparently their own mix that they have sitting around in CD form.

Sweet bed, too.

Although, I did find it odd that I had a connecting room for no reason. But I do so enjoy waking up to the startlingly clear sounds of an elderly couple bickering about where he packed his socks, and her subsequent "Yay!" when she finally located them.

*To those of you I've met in person: less so, I'm sure.

Stayed here with a friend for New Years.  We both flew into town from different locations and were tired.  We couldn't check into our room until after 6:00 PM!  The staff apologized profusely for the inconvenience and as a result we wound up getting free wireless and 24/7 access to the concierge room.  GET ACCESS TO THE CONCIERGE ROOM ON THE 15TH FLOOR.  Overall our accommodations were nice, with the odd exception of one day the housekeeper cleaned everything EXCEPT the bathroom???  Really, isn't that what you WANT cleaned?  One call to the front desk and they sent someone to clean the bathroom.

But I don't want to give the wrong impression, the rooms/beds were very comfortable though I must agree with the other poster who commented on the thin walls.  My friend and I were talking, AND NOT LOUD, and we had the security guard knock on the door with a noise complaint??  No music, no laughing, I still don't know HOW we could have generated a noise complaint.  So we whispered for the rest of the night.  LAME.  Seriously.

The gym was awesome.  Individual TV's on the equipment, a free weight area, and machines.  Towels and complimentary headphones.  5 stars on that.

Can't beat the location if you're attending a sporting event.  You just can't.  5 stars on that.  Walking distance to a nice movie theater, many restaurants, stadiums, etc.  Park your car and explore downtown Orlando.

We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was spectacular.  5 stars on the food.

So, with the exception of a few *issues* I loved my stay here.  I'm giving this five stars because some of the staff went out of their way to make up for the slip ups of others to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable.  You can't ask for much more than that.

This place is pretty spectacular!  We stayed here for my 30th birthday celebration and it was the perfect choice.  When you think of Orlando, you think of Disney World and the attractions... and family hotel this is not (which is probably why we loved it)!

After they found out it was a celebration, we were upgraded at check-in to a luxurious suite, with access to the concierge suite - complete with free nibbles, exclusive bar & sweeping views!  Our hotel room was huge, luxurious and comfortable (the beds are incredible).

We had dinner at the restaurant and it was SO good!  The place is swanky, sexy & we had excellent service.  We were even treated to a complimentary dessert and two glasses of champagne as it was my birthday!  We will definitely go back there.

The only reason I'm not giving the G.B. five stars is for a few small reasons.  Service in the lounge was not good - the female bartender had a bit of an attitude and was not all too friendly.  The pool service was also lacking - there was a server taking drink orders and after being at the pool for 2 hours, we were never approached by her once (and we really wanted to get our drink on - it was my BIRTHDAY, after all!).  And, the valet staff confirmed that I could park in a specific spot on the street for free, and I ended up finding a ticket on my car the next day.  However, none of these issues will keep me from returning.  This place rocks & we will definitely go back!

I should also mention the location is PERFECT if you're heading out on the town - walking distance to great bars, restaurants and clubs!  Other positives: The artwork throughout the hotel is beautiful, front desk staff were very helpful, & the price was VERY reasonable!

So, I must say that I had a Pretty Woman moment here, bubble bath, bubbly and all. Just with no money left on the nightstand or anything. (Na'mean?)

I was excited to stay here from the moment I booked my room. After looking at some of the reviews and sniffing around their website a bit, I was convinced that the Grand Bohemian was a magical place. No need for Epcot, or Disney World, this would be my Tinker Bell fairy powder for the evening. (That sounded like a drug reference - it is not.)

After driving from Tampa to Orlando, I was excited to check-in. Valet was pleasant and the bellman quickly helped me with my bags and lead me to the front desk. Upon check-in I was notified that I had received a room upgrade. Confused, I asked if it was a Priceline bonus that I was unaware I was eligible for. Apparently not so.

I get up to my room and I'm feeling like Daddy Warbucks decided to pick up the tab on this one and I was orphan Annie. My suite was huge, and the decor was in line with the theatrical nature of the hotel. I had a lovely, twin door window above my jacuzzi tub that opened up into the large bedroom with a king size bed. Across from the tub (just around the corner from the toilet) was a fantastic and spacious shower. The living room area a had a sweet foyer, dining table, and couch and just to the side of that the kitchen area offered up the standard mini bar, Starbuck's coffee maker and sink.

But this is the dinger...

As soon as I closed my room door, I heard a knock. Convinced it was a crazy serial killer (since I watch Investigation Discover all too often) my first reaction was a bit defensive. Sure they have a room service cart and they look sweet, but then again....that's the only way I usually get into other people's hotel rooms also!

Hesitant, I opened the door to find that a tray of chocolate covered strawberries, charcuterie and a bottle of champagne awaited.

Now I was convinced someone messed up. (And I was determined not to be charged for it.) I let them know this is definitely not for me, to that they responded by confirming my first and last name and then handing me a card. Feeling like I just won the lotto, I opened the envelope to read a lovely note written from the GM welcoming me. Apparently, someone that is friends with someone I know mentioned that I was checking in that day and I was taken care of.

From check-in to check-out however, my experience was amazing here. The staff always warm and informative and the accommodations beautiful and polished.

Although I'm still not sure if the upgrade was more of a favor from a friend's friend or a little icing on the cake for my stay, my experience would have been 5 star regardless. And they've got a returning customer in the future.

The Grand Bohemian is a great place to stay if your business (or pleasure) brings you to Downtown Orlando.  On a recent business trip to the area, I found Downtown to be the perfect jumping-off point for various meetings around town.

At the Grand Bohemian, you get all the unique artsy qualities of a boutique hotel with chain prices (Marriott runs the joint).  Prices are reasonable for the business traveler (and they awesome a steep discount for my corporate client - double-bonus!), and the location can't be beat.

Bars, restaurants, shops, and even a movie theater are only a hop, skip, and a jump away.  Parking is by valet only, which tacks on another $20 to your room bill.  Another added cost that really shouldn't be in 2011 is the charge for wi-fi - $10 for 24 hours.

The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and the pool deck looks awesome (it was getting a fresh coat of paint while I was there)!  I hope business brings me back to Orlando soon, so I can check out more of what the Grand Bohemian has to offer!

I was not rushed , the atmosphere is what a spa should be.  Prices are what you would find with a spa of this type.

I will definitely be back even without a coupon.

This place is a very classy hotel if you ask me. I went here to the bar after a Magic game with the Yelp Elitist. We were hoping to catch a few Mavericks players or even Mark Cuban, but as you can imagine they left immediately following the game. We ended up sitting at the bar and having several drinks. The atmosphere is very dim and classy. The drinks can be a bit pricey but it is expected for this location. The decor is very...interesting. I wish I knew a better way to describe it but you just have to see for yourself to understand. I am only giving this a 3 star because this is only rating the bar area itself not the hotel. The waitress was very friendly but seemed to stay away from our group more then expected. Overall, I would say the bar is a nice place to hang out if you're looking for something relaxing with a group of friends or a significant other.

Can't comment on the price as my girlfriend got me a weekend here for my birthday, however I do know that it was QUITE the expense.

That being said, everything here was pretty awesome. Initially pulling up, a valet approaches your car and takes it away into the valet-only parking garage... which you think is going to be a pain, except that Valet was included in our rate (don't know if this is standard or not), and so aside from tipping them, it was actually nice. Just call downstairs 5 minutes ahead of time or so and you don't even have to wait.

Check-in was fast and easy and champagne was served in the lobby, which was nice.

The only speed-bump we had in our whole stay was that we went through 4 sets of room keys only to find out our lock on our room needed to be reprogrammed by an engineer, however the issue was quickly resolved and it didn't even phase us.

The room was nice and spacious with a view overlooking the pool; a super-comfortable king bed, flat screen, sofa. The bathroom in the room, while nice and *very clean,* was just kind of like a normal Mariott bathroom, nothing fancy, the tile on the wall just felt dated.

We had dinner at the Grand Boheme downstairs which I'll highlight in a separate review but it was very nice and very good. It was all included in our rate so we also had breakfast there which was equally as good.

It was all just generally pretty great.

Easily the smartest hotel in downtown Orlando in my experience, and beyond that, the only genuinely upscale boutique hotel in same - the Grand Bohemian is predicated on the idea that upscale is, perhaps, your natural state. At the very least, it's everywhere you look in the Grand Boho, from check-in to the comfortable by way of posh rooms.

I dropped in here for a couple of days on my last trip to Orlando, and the amenities resonated: rooms are cozy but most definitely upscale, and a deliberate break from many of the corporate chains that dot the downtown Orlando landscape. If you fancy a late night bevvie, the bartenders downstairs are typically efficient with a pour, and this hotel's iconic enough that most folks seem to have a handle on how to get around from here easily and get back to it easily enough. If you're in search of an adventure that starts with the best of possibilities, you'd do well to launch from here.

I hated staying here.  Parking is valet only and expensive.  The mini bar was half empty in my room upon arrival.  Internet connection was so slow it was useless.  Hotel food was very expensive.  The location is very central, but not to anywhere I wanted to go to.

It was nice that it was connected to a Starbucks.  The bed was very comfortable.  Decorations are unique.  And room was very clean.

When your travels send you to Orlando, downtown at the Grand Bohemian is where you must stay. Rather than opting for that corporate, sterile hunk'a'lunk, the GB oozes character and style as it converts gaudiness into funky elegance. Looking around, you'll notice art and music seeping out of every corner.

Whether you're after a steak or lavish Sunday brunch, the Grand Boheme restaurant, the hotel's on-site eatery, offers a fine dining experience with a smirk. Along with an in-house Starbucks, there's even an art gallery in the hotel showcasing the works of local, regional and international painters.

As for the room, everything was cushy and wonderful. I'd readily stay here again.

This hotel just did not meet my expectations from the first minute to the last. This was kind of a splurge for us and we left feeling like we didn't get the experience we hoped for at this price. First, we couldn't check into our room until after 4pm and did not get the king size bed I requested in the reservation. Because there were private events starting at 5pm in the pool area, we didn't get any pool time. That was generally ok, because a peek at the pool left me pretty unimpressed. It is small, pretty shady, and lacked a bar.

The walls are super thin, so we were subjected to over an hour of really loud and obnoxious lovemaking from the couple next door. Between their conversation and other ruckus, and the too small bed, we got very little sleep. There was no newspaper at our door in the morning, no invoice on our final day. Despite being gone all afternoon with the "please make up room" tag on door, no one came to clean our room. It seemed like rooms were still being cleaned after 6pm, at which point we didn't want anyone bothering us. Finally, after we checked out, I was left with the bags while my husband got the car, and there was no doorman to help me with my suitcases.

So, in total, it was a waste of money. We probably would have had a better experience at a cheaper hotel. Oh, and no free internet! Not even wireless you can pay for in the room. Even that comes free at Super 8!

This is a great place to get elegantly drunk in Downtown Orlando!

I travel for work and I had the pleasure of visiting Orlando Downtown. On my last night, co-worker suggested that I would like the atmosphere of Grand Bohemian Hotel as there isn't any other venue like it in Orlando DT area. He was right on!

I got the tour of a gorgeous lobby, very seductive, and had lots of furs, zebra prints, and worlds most expensive grand piano.

I had a glass of wine at the lobby bar. Although I did not have the creative martinis that bartender was making, martinis look delicious and very creative. Not to mention VERY CHEAP, $12.00. I am from NYC / DC area so my judgement of cheap may not be applicable to everyone.

I had Calamari and Flatbread. Calamari was different. It was topped with Cheese and some Mayo based sauce. It was really great for the first 4 bites but I almost felt sick due to grease and just a pure fried fat that was clogging my artery. The Flatbread was salty and greasy.

Although I wasn't a huge fan of the food, I would definitely make a point to visit the lobby bar next time I am in Orlando Downtown.

Swanky. I can't comment on much here because I just came for the bar. But my word, this is probably the nicest hotel in the downtown area.

The service at the bar was decent. We had a group of about 20 and there wasn't any issues with checks. It was a bit slow getting her attention sometimes. There are a few tvs with sports on, but it was by no means a sports bar.

The decor is rich looking. Lots of dark woods and tones.

Now if only I had money to afford a room...

I checked in to this hotel on a friday night, and I checked out saturday morning with bed bug bites all over My wrist and legs. I notified alex at the front desk that morning, he said they will do a whole inspection of the room and would call me by latest sunday. No call, so i gave them a ring on tuesday morning and was transferred to randy the "housekeeping director" He told me there were no bedbugs and insisted I received the bedbugs "in a nightclub or on a park bench" Well thats funny as I had neither sat on a park bench or went to a nightclub for years. My advice is stay away unless You want bedbugs.

Stayed her for one night before I had to go to universal studios.. Got the employee rate or else it woulda been a bit pricey. When we walked in I was kinda surprised cuz it was very different looking. Pretty cool though. We got there at like 1130 or 12 at night so we didn't take advantage of the location and all the night spots close to it.. Would definitely go back!! Comped breakfast cuz the fire alarm went off so everything was great.

I just came back from a weeklong stay visiting relatives.  Really hot, humid weather all week so I was looking forward to a refreshing dip in the pool...not meant to be.  Very small, shallow pool which was uncomfortably warm/hot.  No idea if there is any way to cool a pool down.  Nice covered area for those of us who like the shade and you could order food and drinks to the pool.  During the week, we pretty much had the pool to ourselves.  On the weekend, a lot more people there drinking in the pool (but not overly loud or problematic).  I don't see this being a hotel for kids (thankfully) and the downtown location would seem to make a lot of kids more unlikely.

Nice room, friendly staff, decent gym.  I was annoyed in advance at the $24/day valet only parking and $10/day wifi access.  They immediately gave us the wifi password on a complimentary basis at check-in because we were staying for a week.  Frankly, I was suspicious as to whether anyone ever actually pays for this or if it is a quick way for them to make you feel special by waiving it.  I am going back for 1 night in January and I will see if it is waived again.  I automatically don't like valet parking due to the cost and my feeling that the staff expects to be tipped each time you take out or return your car.  We just waited until we were leaving and gave a bigger tip then.

A beautiful hotel to stay at in downtown Orlando the Grand Bohemian offers Art, Luxury, and Customer service.

The art in the lobby is beautiful as is the art all over this hotel.

If you get the rooms with special concierge lounge swanky, great leather seats, bar snacks

Descent gym too with weights and cardio machines.

24$ valet service,  they treat you right.

Ran into some rapper here.

One of the most memorable hotels I've visited.

I definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

Nothing worse than a hotel review from someone who didn't actually stay in the hotel.  I mean, what a waste of a click on your browser.

So with that out of the way, here is my review of the Grand Bohemian based strictly on my experience at the bar as I have not actually stayed here.

A fellow Yelper described the decor here as bordering on gaudy and I have to agree.

While the Grand Bohemian is definitely a nice hotel, the bar area has some pieces of "art" that are just plain bizarre.  Luckily the drinks and service here were more than good enough to take your mind off of some of the downright weird paintings.

Overall, the decor of the Bohemian really wasn't my cup of tea, but its not terrible either.

Oh yeah, I hear they also have rooms here where you can spend the night in exchange for a fee.

I stayed here last night and loved every moment of it!! From the time we pulled-in to the valet, my girlfriends and I were treated like royalty.

The bar served generous drinks and the other patrons were a lot of fun too. Our room was amazing and spotless. The bed was super comfy for the 3 of us and the sheets were crispy clean and soft.

You could hear a pin drop outside. Very quiet (except for us) :)

Breakfast buffet was perfect too. Lots to choose from and very fresh. Cooked to order too.

Pricey but worth it!!

The decor borders on gaudy, but the service is exemplary.  The weekend brunch is very nice.  Rather disappointed that they discontinued their weekend food presentations at the concierge lounge.  They seem to be shifting their focus towards business travelers to the exclusion of leisure travelers who stay here on their own dime rather than their employers'.

We chose this place because it was walking distance to where we were headed.  I wouldn't say it was a horrible stay, but when your paying for a four star hotel you definitely expect better. Didn't mind so much paying the $25 over night valet only service, but it was impossible to find, had to call front desk for directions to it. (hint: it's on Jackson St) We don't get away from our children often for a night out like this so we expected to get a king bed, as we requested, but they didn't have any. Decor in both the hotel and our room was decent, nothing to spectacular. Art on the walls was umm different lets say, not sure what they are going for there. Once in our room it was nice the fancy headboards and desk chair but once looking closer there were some issue one just cant look over for a four star hotel. Like no trash bags the any of the garbage cans. And also the hugest thing... little tiny hairs all over the bathroom shower walls... Gross...Staff was decent.. I don't think its worth the money we paid to stay here would probably stay elsewhere and drive a little if we ever plan on being in that part of town again.

I had a 3 night stay while visiting family near by. They have a great Military Rate! Nice to see businesses out there that support active duty military and in return we will support them.

Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The hotel is in a great location. The rooms are very big and clean. The WiFi was very fast where I was (9th floor). Ordered room service and was very impressed. The Crab Cake was amazing! They said 30-45 minutes and it only took them 20 minutes. The outdoor section was nice. Valets were quick and attentive.

But as you can tell I rated 4 stars and not 5. I usually hate reading the negatives of hotels because people can be so picky but here is what I have to say... Pool was too shallow for my taste (3 ft deep). Parking was reasonable for myself ($24/day) considering the location, but had to pay $18 for a friend to come over and park for a few hours. Also, I left my room from like 10am-2pm and when I got back it still wasn't serviced. I wanted to relax in it after that and totally missed my chance to have it cleaned and restocked.   Then when I had the room cleaned the following day they only re-stocked my coffee with decaf. Very MINOR flaws but I just couldn't warrant a 5 star review.

Hope this was helpful. Enjoy your stay here.

The Kessler Brand has outdone themselves with this hotel. We stayed for a night on a weekend where there were 5 weddings in the area.  Apparently their computers were down,  but that did not stop the efficiency of the staff. They quickly gathered information from us, and within 4 minutes we had our room cards.  We ate here for dinner, and the ambiance of the restaurant was pristine and cozy.  A few minutes after we sat down, a piano player played, which was absolutely incredible.  We ended up not leaving the hotel to go get drinks elsewhere,  and utilized the hotel bar, which seems separate in itself.  I was elated with the staff, from valet, front desk, and even room service. We are already looking forward to our next trip to tgis hotel!

Location, location, location!

The Grand Bohemian Hotel is in middle of the action and excitement of downtown Orlando. My husband and I enjoyed walking to restaurants and bars from our beautiful hotel.

The hotel is a solid 4 stars. Gorgeous lobby, modern lounge, on-location Starbucks (as well as Starbucks coffee and tea products in the hotel rooms), beautiful and spacious rooms, and a prime location in downtown Orlando. Why not 5 stars? While the hotel is very beautiful some of the amenities could use a renovation.

There was an outdoor pool and a fitness facility at the Grand Bohemian, but both were tiny.  There was a fully stocked mini bar in the room that listed snack prices, but the hefty hotel taxes (83%) on the snack bar were not listed.  Our $6 bottle of water was actually $11 after the $5 tax. (Luckily we didn't open the bottle so we returned it during check out and had the charge removed from our bill.) We were also disappointed that the ice machine on our floor was broken. When we asked the hotel to send ice to our room they sent us two small glasses of ice instead of a bucket of ice.

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Grand Bohemian.  The rooms are not cheap, but we used my in-laws Marriott points so if we had the options to use their points again I would definitely stay here.

Overall reasonably priced as downtown hotels go and well worth it.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Cool room. Basically the most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping with. So glad I was traveling for business because I didn't even have to share this bed with my husband! Hotel bar was nice, staff was lovely and helpful for the most part. ROOM SERVICE LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED. Just say no, incredibly slow service, horribly mediocre food. Other complaint would be the valet stand. Both Friday and Saturday night I had to open my own car door while looking at four valets talking about football all standing around the valet stand. Plus, where was the door man? I only saw this kid like twice, both times he opened the door for me though. Rest of the time, same as valet, I just saw a bunch of dudes standing around. It's like, hey guys, I'll tip you but you actually need to DO something for that tip.... So I didn't!

This is definitely in a prime location with easy access to freeways and local business and restaurants. It also appears to be the place to be if you are a celeb in Orlando. During our stay we had the Celtics at the hotel, Holly Madison and I could swear I saw Redman and Method Man which would not be surprising since they were in town that weekend for a concert.

Would love to stay here again, but I would not order room service and I hope I would be able to expect a little bit more for the kids at the front door/valet. Four stars anyway for their mostly friendly staff, nice bar and great accommodations./

Stayed here for Thanksgiving and expected a hotel at half staff and was quite pleased when I was wrong. Service was attentive without smothering and the lobby and restaurants were chic.

After a quick check in, we discovered our room and it was very "plus". Bedding, mattress, and pillows were unbelievably comfortable and extra blankets and pillows were brought up quickly. We slept extremely well and the blackout curtains insured it was dark well after the sun came up.

Since we came to spend Thanksgiving with family, we did not get to try the restaurants or bar, so maybe on our next trip.

The Grand Bohemian is a very nice modern hotel. The rooms are beautiful and expansive, the unique artwork in the rooms and throughout the property is breathtaking, and its location on Orange Ave (within walking distance of everything downtown) ensures I never need to rent a car when conducting business in downtown Orlando.

Super-friendly staff consistently go out of their way to ensure that every aspect of all of my stays is fantastic. Unlike other luxury hotels, there is no aloofness. Also, it doesn't hurt that they are very liberal with suite upgrades to Marriott Platinum guests.

Their bar/restaurant, the Bösendorfer Lounge, serves exceedingly good food for a hotel restaurant, and maintains the same high standards and class of everything else on the property.

I don't recommend the Grand Bohemian for an Orlando leisure trip, due to the distance between downtown and I-Drive, Universal, and Disney, but I would strongly recommend the Grand Bohemian if you have business in or around downtown.

I was first introduced to the hotel on a Sunday evening after going to a Magic game. A group of about 12 of us sat in the lounge/bar area downstairs and had a few cocktails along with 2 bottles of champagne. The area is dimly lit and filled with upscale furniture and works of art. Our server was suitable but I expected a little more of the extra mile.

Less than a week later I had the opportunity to stay here for the night in one of the concierge level rooms. (stay on the highest floors, complimentary breakfast, afternoon snack, and evening hors d'oeuvres)

I've never slept on a cloud before but I would bet money that sleeping on one their beds is comparable.  The rooms are absolutely beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. The halls are filled with works of art and it appeared some were for sale.

I'm a big sucker for outstanding customer service and the Grand Bohemian shines here. You can tell that each staff member (front desk, valet, doorman) has been trained to cater to your every need.

DO: Bring a special someone here on a birthday or anniversary. I would suggest staying away from national holidays though (Valentines, New Year's, etc) because they jack up the already high prices.

DON'T: Forget your wallet, you won't get out of here without dropping some serious dolla dolla bills.

GRAND BOHEMIAN, IF YOU'RE READING: Is it really necessary to charge $10 for WIFI for the night? I guess the majority of your clientele have disposable income but it is 2013, WIFI should be free here just like it is at Mickey D's and Starbucks.

We came and stayed to attend a wedding that was at the hotel. Even with the discount we still paid over $600 for two nights. We have an infant and needed the fridge for her milk. But we got charged bc we opened the fridge which is actually a mini bar. The hotel is close to a fire department and the windows are so cheap we heard sirens going off all the time. We were on the 7th floor and could still word for word songs coming from the radios of cars on the street. At 2:30 in the morning we could hear the exact conversations of the people in the hall. We also call days ahead asking for an adjoining room with our friends. They told us it was too late and we would have to pay extra. Yet when we arrived the room we had was an adjoining room but our friends were further down the hall. When we checked out it was extremely busy and the front desk staff were very rude. The valets on the other hand were excellent. We went down for brunch in Sunday and was told it was going to be over a two hour wait even though the restaurant was less than half full. So we went somewhere else for breakfast but got a text from the hotel ten mins later telling us our table was ready. We got thee more texts and a phone call telling us to come back. So annoying! We have stayed at the grand bohemian in Celebration and had a wonderful experience. However, we will not be staying at this hotel ever again

Love this hotel!

Had a jaquzzi suite on the 12th floor with a view of city hall for a 3 day getaway wrapped around a boring payroll conference.

The room was great for one person (more on that comment later) with a nice sized living room, a nice bedroom with super comfy bed and a large bathroom with 2 person jaquzzi with shutters that open into the bedroom. Plenty of storage in both the living room and the bedroom. I didn't even have to call for extra hangers.

Room service greeted me with bottle of champagne and a vegi tray along with granola bars for snacking. I love perks!

Now the color of the room, hunter green and purple,. takes some getting used to. It's both antiquated yet modern. It somehow works with the quirky artwork scattered about.

Had a mini fridge and a little coffee maker so everything you needed was there.

The only downfall is if you have a guest staying with you the shutters in the bathroom provide less than a discreet , modest or private atmosphere. In fact with the light on you can see from the bed into the bathroom with very little effort. A little uncomfortable for those of us of the female persuasion that like their private potty time. I guess for men it would be no big deal (feel free to comment )

So all in all, a great hotel! Wonderful dining, great bar (look out for catty bitches) Koby Bryant was at the check in desk when I was checking in and the staff were so lovely, they didn't drop everything for him and put others aside, here, everyone is treated like a VIP. I loved the Grand Bo!

You say you want a modern hotel in downtown Orlando that's packed with great staff, a superb location and stunningly appointed? Well, look no further than the Grand Bo.

I cannot go on with my review without paying special attention to the gorgeous decor in the lobby, the restaurants and, of course, the guest room. It's modern bohemian with plenty of jewel tones, crushed velvet and slick lines. It's really beautiful.

Beyond the prettiness, Grand Bo has what you need to enjoy your stay...

-A handful of delicious looking dining options (including tasty room service breakfast - oatmeal! - that I ordered in advance the night before)
-Clean, cozy bed
-Standard bathroom with nice toiletries
-Generous sized flat screen with tons o'channels
-Lobby Starbucks
-Free, stable WiFi with password

I didn't get a chance to check out the exercise room, but it's worth noting you're nice and close to the lake so a run or walk outside would be pretty nice as well.

If I find myself in downtown Orlando again, I'd most certainly stay at the Grand Bo!

Gorgeous Hotel! Check-in went smoothly. Rooms are lovely, clean, fresh and crisp. The bathrooms in the rooms need to be renovated a bit but the lovely furniture and design make up for the oldish bathtub/shower.
I had a drink and appetizer at the bar. The bartender was lovely. My drink was scrumptious the escargot was a bit overcooked but still tasty.
My only complaint/concern are the very loud cleaning ladies/gentlemen. I was woken up at 7:30 am with them screaming down the corridors to each other. I realized after a few hours that this behavior is the norm for the maids and not the exception. I had to take one star off my rating for the screaming room cleaning attendants.

This place sucks. No microwave no fridge you can use. There is a fridge but has sensors that charged us for any of their drinks that the have in the fridge they wanna sell you. So do not touch the drinks in there. They charge for valet parking that we did not use twice each day. We also payed to check out by 6pm. At 12 some guy knocks then came in my room for no reason apologized n shut the door, we also had the do not disturb sign up... Talk about privacy issue. The walls are paper thin so woke up one morning w a woman in the next room barfing her face off for 30 min. . All in all this place is all about location. Had better stays in a holiday inn... I could go on and on but will not inconvenience myself further...I do not write many 1 star reviews...this has been written to warn you. Good luck

Why 4 stars? Because I'd definitely stay again.

  ---   ---   ---

Great location, cool vibe, and great rooms. I guess the only thing holding me back from 5 stars here is that I really hate paying much at all for a room that's simply there for me to sleep in. I know, I know... I picked the room, so I can't bitch much.

But if the price point matches up with you, you'll love it.

Let me start by saying that I did not get the opportunity to actually stay here, I simply came for the easter celebration. The hotel is beautiful, simply stunning.
It;s a little confusing to get inside, or maybe it's just me, I walked around the building, a little lost and then entered a door to a room with a piano and two of the restaurants, one of which I was having easter brunch (The Boheme) but that wasn't where I was supposed to be, apparently Easter Brunch was on the 5th floor, (confusing)
Once I got the the lobby, then it made sense. everybody was very helpful and nice. The food was amazing, but that should be in a review of the Boheme.
I know from having friends who have worked at this hotel that it is absolutely amazing. They really go the whole 9 yards for their guests, and they have a lot of celebrities that stay there. =)

Fantastic boutique hotel, located near the south end of the heart of downtown Orlando. Although this hotel is owned by the Marriott Corporation, you get the feeling you are staying at a swanky/artsy hotel, vs a chain. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. I absolutely adore all of the fantastic artwork throughout the hotel, which is carried over into each of the guest rooms. I have three fantastic oil paintings in my hotel room, which make it feel "homey".

We chose the Grand Bohemian Hotel because of its location. We liked the parking package that we added so we could enter/exit as often as we needed. We booked online which was quick and easy and we had many options from which to choose.

This hotel was soooooo large & elegant. The price for the location was great too! You will be amazed at how extravagant. The beds were extremely comfortable, there were 2 bathrooms, a large tv, & the lbby areas were unreal !

This is really a 3.5 star hotel. Im bumping them up to 4 stars because the employees at this hotel are all very well trained and truly dedicated to their guests. Everyone I encountered from the housemaids to the valet service were extremely polite. I can't begin to explain how incredible the valet service is from check-in to check-out! Hats off to the hospitality department at this hotel!

I stayed in the 1 bedroom suite which is HUGE. It was very clean and the vibe was  elegant yet fun and even a little risky! We had PURPLE furniture in our suite, and it felt very hip, I loved it!

The downside would have to be the pool. Its really not big enough for the price you pay per room and the size of the hotel. I understand most people won't be going into the pool but its just too small and a bit of a turn off when theres 10 young kids in there and you start thinking about the water quality...  However, I will add that the pool furniture and the rooftop pool (6th floor) is an added bonus when you want to have a few drinks outside by the pool.

Id def. come again!

I've stayed here a few times now, and it's a very unique autograph collection.  Every room has a painting, and there various statues and paintings everywhere in the hotel.  Watch out when you try to drive to the hotel, because Google Maps will take you on a side of the one way street that's not the hotel entrance.  Valet only.  Concierge Lounge is nice, but no dessert.  They always seem to have grilled veggies every night.  I like that better than carrot/celery sticks.

Great area. Cute hotel. Lovely pool BUT the pool is unavailable half the time. We were there two nights and the pool was unavailable the entire time for different events... And the only way you would know that is if you personally book the hotel and do it through their website. Unfortunately their "contingency pool" is at that embassy suites that is a 5-10 min walk away. I am glad that my room was at the end of the hall as the music by the elevator would have been too loud for me otherwise. Other than not having access to the pool at all, the place was cute and the bed very comfy.

My husband and I did a staycation at the Grand Bohemian for his 30th birthday.  The hotel is luxurious and grand is certainly appropriate.  It was nice walking through the halls admiring the artwork.  We had a nice view from our room over looking downtown Orlando as well as a view of the pool area.  We enjoyed being able to walk back to the hotel after a night on the town with friends.  The front desk staff and concierge were very friendly and provided good recommendations on where to eat close by.

I've been to Orlando quite a few times for work recently, but could never catch this place within my allotted budget...

Luck would have it, we found a great rate so made it happen. It's going to be very hard to stay anywhere else....

Valet was quick to greet and help me with luggage. Check in was amazingly friendly and easy.

And wow. I think Monica S captured the vibe perfectly, "it converts gaudiness into funky elegance."  Not sure why, but the black sparkly elevators with the padded red upholstery made me smile every time.

The bed was amazingly comfy and quickly became my favorite over all other hotel beds. Linens were crisp, clean and soft and the purple velvet couch in the room was a perfect spot to gaze out the window at the 6th floor pool.

I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to jumping into icy pool water, so was thrilled to find out the pool is heated! Not so hot it felt like bath water, but a perfect lukewarm swim that was highly rejuvenating. The jacuzzi was a welcome treat for this stressed little body (just look for the on and off switch on the fence to your left when you walk in.) I actually stayed quite a bit under the covered pool area... the breeze was delightful and even on a super hot Orlando summer day, it felt nice to sit outside and get some work done.

There is a Starbucks in the lobby (score!) and a nice place to have a quick meeting, so you don't have to get your car out of valet parking. Starbucks coffee is also provided in the room as well.

We did order room service one night... and I went for the filet, medium rare, creamed spinach and caesar salad. The salad was huge, and perfect for two to share. The filet..... while it lost a little bit of heat on it's way up to the 12th floor, was cooked perfectly. A knockout piece of meat that melted in my mouth. Adam LOVED the creamed spinach... they added some bacon that gave it a great smokey flavor. His pork chop was gorgeous, (haha I can't believe I just said that about a pork chop) but was a little too done.

Overall, great stay, highly recommend and I will be back. (Even if I have to pay a little bit more out of pocket, GB has spoiled me, and I like it.)

This hotel is luxurious. Everything from the lobby to the dinning areas, elevators and of course, rooms, will make you feel like a high roller. It's all in the details and they pay close attention to each and everyone. The beds are like clouds and hard to detach yourself from come morning. The headboards are upholstered in a gorgeous, rich velvet that reflects the modern, upscale image of the Grand Bohemian. There's beautiful art everywhere which is really nice and refreshing. None of that dated, humdrum stuff that no one likes. Everything is clean and modern. They also provide the most cozy and plush bathrobes I've ever worn! I only wish I could make this place my permanent residence.

After knowing of the Grand Bohemian and The Boheme as some of the nicest places in town for years now, I was tremendously disappointed. The overall decor and music played in the hotel seems more catered towards young people trying to show off their money than anything actually upscale. More importantly, the service was terrible (both in the hotel and the restaurant). Then they put the bill on the wrong credit card and didn't seem terribly upset by the inconvenience.

Overall, avoid this hotel. The price point isn't justified by the decor, and certainly isn't justified by the service or lack thereof.

The Grand Bohemian Downtown Orlando is something not to be missed. In all of Orlando, this is in my top 5 hotels hands down. There are so many unique aspects to the Bohemian that it really places itself into a category like no other.

My wife and I were both raised in Orlando, Florida and know the area and all the hotels extremely well. Since we often have business and family visits, if we are anywhere even remotely close to downtown then the Grand Bohemian is always our first choice. In fact, outside of staying on or near a Disney property / Universal Studios for theme park based trips...this is almost always where we stay.

From the time you drive into the valet (there is no self parking, but this is a nice hotel and it's well worth the cost alone, add in the nightmare of parking downtown and it's a no brainer) to the time you walk into the lobby, you're treated as more than a welcome guest, but more like a returning friend to the hotel. In the over 10+ stays at this hotel, I can't think of one single time that I wasn't greeted with a smile and welcome hello. The staff is beyond accommodating and literally does anything they can to ensure that you have the best visit possible.

There was a wedding taking place at the hotel this past weekend and I'd say they were at a very high occupancy level. Even with this taken into consideration, I asked if our friends checkin in the same day could be placed near, or at least on the same floor as us. It's rare that any hotel can accommodate a request and there is never any guarantee, however they had use slated for another floor, but moved us to another so we could be 3 doors down from each other. We booked concierge level (as usual, well worth the few extra dollars) and we maintained that benefit even with our room change. This is just an example of the level of detail to service that the hotel goes out of it's way to make sure you have the best stay ever.

We were having a birthday party for ME in Downtown and rather than drive, we were safe and booked a room at the Grand Bo. Upon checkin, they asked what brought us to town, I told them it was my birthday. We went to the pool for a quick dip and soak in the hot tub (which is on floor 6...not 7 as I mentioned in a previous review). When we returned, there was a nice note from the concierge along with some incredibly decedent chocolate truffles to say "enjoy your stay and happy birthday!" I can't promise you that every time you check in for your birthday they will do this, however it's just an example of the great attention to details they offer.

We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite. This is probably our favorite suite that we've stayed in at the hotel. There was a very nice amount of room. The parlor allowed for us to have a few friends over and a small cake for my birthday...there was plenty of room (see my pictures). We were able to do this without people tromping in our bedroom / bed, etc. The bathroom was ample in size and featured both a walk-in shower and a very generously sized jacuzzi with louvered doors that opened to the master suite. Very nice touch...you could even see the TV from the tub!

As with all of the rooms at the hotel, they are very posh, modern, yet comforting at the same time. It's not over the top "contemporary" - more like an artsy feel with lush velvets, deep reds and dark furniture. I love the decor, plus there is art EVERYWHERE in the hotel! Hallways, rooms and even a gallery downstairs...if you appreciate art, then there simply is no better place in town to stay for this reason alone. It's really an incredible collection.

The best tip I can tell you is very basic. If you're anywhere near downtown, then don't waste your money on another hotel. The Grand Bohemian is THE hotel to stay at. A great value for what you get...

Conveniently located in Downtown. Came to visit some friends that were staying for the weekend, rooms are nice. Pool is kind of small but a good view.  Went to sunday brunch it was delicious and plenty of everything.

I have also been in the restaurant inside the hotel and is very good
