We are here right  now and loving every minute of our stay! Everything in the room looks brand new and spotlessly clean....the beds are dreamy.  Staff is attentive and pleasant to interact with.  The grounds are phenomenal to say the least.  Walking/jogging trails are from 1 mile long to almost 5 with beautiful scenery and partially shaded.  Bikes, tennis, paddle boats all included in the fee.  Plush towels, padded lounge chairs and top notch bar service make the pool a paradise.  This definitely beats our previous stays at Contemporary and Polynesian.  Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress earned my loyalty going forward and for less than half of what we've paid at Disney Resorts.

Perfect resort environment.  Visited twice so far this year.  Enjoyed the activities during July 4, and the family had fun with all the activities.  For the adult event my husband and I both won a free adult drink for the belly flop contect!  Kids had a blast making tie dyed t-shirts, etc.  There is just so much to do.  The landscaping is lush and breathtaking as you excape into the waterfalls around the pools.  Of course there is golf and other activities for a well rounded family experience.  Thank you Hyatt!

We stayed here for several nights and liked it a lot. It is a big, well designed, very attractive hotel inside and out. The staff are friendy, and call you by name when you first arrive. The free parking lot is not too long of a walk from the lobby. The pools and exercise room are nice, the pools have falling water which is fun to swim through. But the large wandering river pool is not heated in winter, and too cold to swim at 60 degrees. The hot tubs are good, but not great, sometimes not as hot as they should be. The recreation fee of about $20 a day is worth it, you get the parking, use of bikes, and 3 par golf course, and small boats on the lake. It is a very convenient location, many restaurants and stores about a half mile away, and close to Disney World. We enjoyed our stay here and will return some day. Check the online travel websites, sometimes they have deals on rooms.

My husband and I just got back from this resort yesterday. We stayed there back in January and, unfortunately, were unable to enjoy all the amenities due to business. I decided that, for our one year anniversary, we'd definitely need to go back and make good use of our $22/day resort fee. At first, I had only booked two nights, but then my hubby surprised me and decided to leave a night early. I'm so glad we did because we really enjoyed ourselves and made the most of our time there. From the minute we checked in, I was more than pleased. Anaiss, the girl who checked us in, was so incredibly nice. I had told her we were there for our anniversary, and without us even asking, she tried her best to find us an upgraded room with a Lake View, rather than the Lake Buena Vista view. We're super easy going so we didn't care where we were, we were on vacation (plus we booked a great rate through Priceline, so who are we to be picky?!)! But, she still went above and beyond to help us out. We checked into our room and, on the surface, everything looked fine, but then I walked into the bathroom and noticed trash was still in the can and there was a used bar of soap in the shower. I was too tired to worry about it at that second because it was pretty late so I waited until the morning and told someone at the front desk who was extremely quick to call housekeeping and get it cleaned up right away, including a linen change on our bed, just in case. We went to breakfast and by the time we got back, everything was taken care of. We hung out by the pool all day, rode bikes, etc. It was around 4pm when we got back to the room and the noise from the drilling was driving my husband insane. Anaiss had told us we might hear a little noise and we were fine with it, however, this was pretty bad. We decided that we were no longer going to relax before we went out that night so we rushed to get ready and left. My husband was right, they should close off the section of the hotel that they're doing drilling work on because it really is horrible. We were on vacation so we did not complain, we just decided to go out earlier than planned and ignore it. We came back from dinner that night and my husband noticed something different about our room. We had champage and strawberries w/ chocolate set up! We did not order this so we had called room service to see who sent it so we could thank them. Come to find out, it was Anaiss, the girl who checkd us in! We couldn't believe how nice that was! We ran downstairs to thank her and came back to enjoy our wonderful gift. I will absolutely be sending her Thank You gift to let her know how very much appreciated that was. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to have a relaxing vacation. There really is so much to do on the property. The staff is beyond incredible and make you feel at home. They may need to work on their housekeeping service as there definitely was dust everywhere and the bathroom incident definitely shouldn't have happened, however, the first time we stayed there, I never had a cleaner room at a hotel in my life. Stuff happens. And maybe they should plan out their renovations a little better. That wasn't going to ruin our time either because luckily they don't work on Saturdays. Again, I highly recommend this place.

Excellent accommodations, beautiful grounds, very nice staff.  Luckily very close to hundreds of restaurants, hotels and bars because the prices at the Hyatt were outrageous.  $15. cocktails, $30. lunches, and all with extra high taxes and gratuities added.  But we had a great time.  Bought water and sodas at a nearby grocery and had a small refrigerator in the room and plenty of free ice.  Loved the small balcony, the pool area, the running tracks, bicycles and pitch and putt course.  Would highly recommend to anyone.

We were here for my boyfriend's cousins wedding and were lucky enough to score a discounted rate for 3 nights.  If you are going to stay in Orlando I would definitely recommend staying here.

PROS: When you drive up to the resort, they have a security gate/guard that allows only guests/temporary visitors to come in so you feel like you are staying at an exclusive resort. The lobby is absolutely beautiful complete with a live cockatoo and parrot greeting you at the front.    The backyard is also home to one of the best golf courses in FL.  The lagoon like pool reminds me so much of the Grand Hyatt Kauai which was 100xs more awesome than this place.  Grand Cypress Orlando's pool had two water slides and multiple jacuzzis.  The gym was awesome and had a private steam and sauna room in each of the separate mens/womens locker rooms.  They had plenty of machines to work on as well and had ice towels to refresh you after your work out.

The rooms were nice and the service refreshed our room twice.  Turn down service was nice.

Self parking was free but it almost took 5-10 minutes to get there from the hotel grounds.

The hotel is pretty central to Disneyworld and provides free shuttle service to these attractions.

CONS:  We didn't get to use all the resort activities/amenities,  which sucked because they charge a $15 resort fee everyday.  Activities included a 24 hour health club, water sports (sailing), bicycles, pitch n putt golf, court time for tennis, driving range.   The wallpaper on the bathroom wall looked very dated but that didn't seem to bother me all that much.  Breakfast buffet  for $21.50 was a little bit disappointing at Cascade.  Not anything too exciting except maybe for the freshly made pancakes and belgium waffles.

Good hotel, except THEY DON'T HEAT THE POOLS IN THE WINTER!  So here you are, looking at this hotel on the web with its great pools.  My kids are excited about the water slide.  But wait -- the big water slide goes into a pool that is 50 degrees.  That's no joke -- they heat one small pool that is 2x the size to 84 degrees and let the other ones respond to mother nature.

Overall, this is an older Hyatt with the large atrium lobby.  I would guess it was built in the 70's.  The rooms have been remodeled and they've really done as nice a job as possible keeping the property modern.

The service was very good, and we got 2 adjoining rooms for the price of what we would have paid for one at Disney.

Besides the pools, the other annoying thing is their "Disney Shuttle" doesn't run very often -- first run is 8:45, and the first return shuttle is at 7:25pm.  It is also located in an area with awful traffic (almost gridlock) during peak park flow times.  However, there are a lot of the mid-priced chain restaurants just outside the hotel (Chili's, Chevy's, etc.), so it's generally a convenient spot if you're doing Disney.  The drive to Magic Kingdom is 10 - 15 minutes.

Overall, a well-run, well-maintained hotel with just a couple issues to iron out.

This hotel was like a resort, and I totally didn't expect it to be.  We got a modern renovated room which was pretty cool and comfortable.  The closet door slides open to become the bathroom door.  Great grounds (it's a pretty big place), with pools, caves, spas and a bar in under the cave, it's quite the ambiance.  A little put off by the 'beach' - we were going to rent a kayak or canoe until we saw the 'No Swimming - Alligators' sign.  This hotel is farther from Universal and Seaworld (at least $25 cab ride), but provides free shuttles there.

Don't be duped by their non-metered cabs.  I am from NY and you NEVER get in a gypsy cab.  Spend the extra 5 minutes and call Checker cabs before you go downstairs.  Ask for a metered cab.  I swear the cab guys are in cahoots with the 'luxury limo's, because that's all each hotel has waiting there.  Saved me a few bucks here and there, and my roommate $35 for a ride to the airport.

We got a deal from hotels.com where the 5th night was free so all in all it was $122 (average) for 5 nights.  Great deal for this place.  It rained a few days so instead of the theme parks we hit the spa at the hotel.  Let me tell you, the hour long massage with Roman was amazing.

If I go back though, I may stay closer to the OCCC, to be closer to Universal Studios (I love Islands of Adventure) and Sea World.

Oh and the crabcake sandwich with remoulade and zucchini is amazing.  Got that at the bar by the pool.  Twice. :)

What in the world happened to this hotel. I stayed at this property on numerous occasions, albeit it has been a few years ago. The rooms which once had a Caribbean flare are now adorned with hideous plastic colored slabs anchored to the walls. For alack of better words K Mart chic. No longer is bottled water available in your room - "you need to go to the gift shop and make a purchase." Lunch by the pool with construction concrete saws blowing cement onto our food was truly memorable. "Sorry for the inconvenience we're renovating the pool." I guess that's the reason there isn't any water in it. You've got to be kidding, a $24.00 a day resort fee and no water in the pool. I've got three more days with three rooms in this place since I prepaid. What a disgrace of an operation. There are too many hotels in this market and I urge you to stay away. The Grand Cypress is no longer grand.

I stayed at the Hyatt for 4 nights, and I found the service to be a bit above average.  (3.5 stars).  My room was changed last minute from a King Bed to 2 doubles, which set a negative tone for the entirety of my stay.  4 stars.  I didn't find the service at front desk to be very friendly. Another negative half star.  Maid service was good  - that's a separate issue because I did some fair tipping.  The hotel is very nice - on the outside.  However, in terms of dining, it's a bit of fluff.  There is no real sushi restaurant.  Basically, the "sushi" bar is a bar that serves as a cafe during the day; then, hires some sushi chef to make sushi at night.  Amenities are very nice if you are able to take advantage of them during your stay.  My experience at the Hyatt can be summed up to 3.5 stars, and when you think about it, it's because of the service knocked itself down several notches.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel after we completed a seven day cruise and found out our flight home was delayed four days due to a blizzard in the  north east.  We grabbed a rental car and drove from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando to spend our time at Disney.  Along the way we stopped and searched online for a hotel close to Disney that was a reasonable price.  We chose the Hyatt due to the close location to Disney and that they advertised a constant shuttle running to the parks.

We arrived to discover that this resort will present a good price online, but they nickel and dime you all over the place!  $16 to park your own car, a daily $22 resort fee and $24.58 a day in taxes.  We quickly dumped the rental car due to the cost of the parking and the shuttle offered by the hotel.  BIG mistake..the shuttle runs twice in the morning and three times in the evening.  Not continuous all day service as advertised.  So what became a decent priced hotel quickly added up to over $230 a night!  We booked two nights from the road only to find out that night that our flight was delayed another day.  The hotel told us they were sold out for our last night and we had to find another place to stay.  We kept checking online and we were able to get a room the morning before we would have to check out at a base rate of $65 more than the first two nights!  Best part was that we had to check out at 3 am to catch out flight too!

The water area of the resort was under construction so the main pool was not open which was a bummer for me.  The parrot in the lobby is cool and the hotel overall is very nice although I agree with another reviewer as there is no hot water in the shower.

My biggest complaint besides the disappointment of the shuttle was on the second morning we were woken up at 6:30 am by our next door neighbor who was screaming on the phone in Russian.  I had to call security three times between 6:30 and 8:30.  The security guard saw the gentleman leave his room around 8:45 am and knocked on our door.  I was told that she could not hear that yelling from the hallway, but trust me, it was so loud in our room especially as we had a connecting door.  The security guard Linda was lovely, apologized and even left us two bottles of water and a fruit plate upon our return that evening.  I emailed the front desk manager from the park that day and then complained at checkout and was offered $99.99 refund.  I absolutely would have taken my sleep over the $99!!

I was just checking my credit card statement and the hotel charged an additional amount on our credit card during our stay for around $240.  I just called the front desk and was told this was only an authorization, but it appears on my card dated 2/11/13 and is marked as a transaction to me.  I was told to give it a few more days as they have it as an "authorization" and it should disappear from our card.  Seriously...8 days later and that is the answer?  I emailed the front desk manager about this issue earlier today and have not heard back.

Overall a nice hotel, but disappointed by noise, lack of shuttle service and overcharging.  The hotel was also hosting 3 or 4 company conventions so there was a lot of drinking going on in the main bar in the lobby.  Not sure I would feel comfortable listing this hotel as kid friendly.  Sadly, I will not be recommending or returning anytime soon.  What turned into being stuck in FL for four extra days has become a lot more work and headache than it should be.  And turn up the hot water!  Very disappointing and frustrating experience for a 4 star Hyatt Resort.

Very nice rooms and activities, but... Can't control the air conditioning / dehumidifier in the room, resulting in an on/off/on/off situation all night and day. I even had a maintenance call and was dismayed to learn there is no way to get the fan to run consistently, or turn off completely. I ended up trying to sleep with a pillow over my head for 4 nights... I am a regular Hyatt guest and Love Hyatt hotels, but I won't be back to this specific one.

With so many hotels in the area, if you just need a place to sleep in between Disney park visits, you can definitely find a cheaper one in the same area.  But the Hyatt Grand Cypress is very nice with great amenities and excellent customer service.
My #1 suggestion: Know what the hotel you choose means by Disney shuttle service (if that matters to you). The Hyatt's was very limited in my opinion:  departed only at 8:50a/10a and picked up only at 6p, 8p, 9:45p and 11:15p.  There was only one location: dropped off / picked up at the Disney ticket and transportation center - where you caught a Disney bus or the monorail - not necessarily a bad thing as you don't have a bunch of stops on the way there and back.  The trip is 20+ minutes because they take back roads; the buses are old and very uncomfortable.  Bottom line:  we spent extra $ taking car service ($19) /cabs ($14) on several occasions, but we had faster service (5 min trip and were dropped off closer to our end destination).
There is a daily resort fee, but that's not uncommon (how else can they offer the great shuttle service?).
#2 main comment:  if you have little girls and want the whole Disney dress up / make up experience - skip the Downtown Disney / Magic Kingdom boutiques (unless you like the whole fake hair, cheap floosie look).  Instead, buy your dress at a local Disney store (or online) and schedule time in the Hyatt Salon.  My wife did this for our girls (4 and 7) and they looked 100 times better than any other kid I saw.  The dresses we had were much nicer and Olga in the salon did a great job with their hair!  Hair updo = $35.  Disney dress of choice, hair piece and shoes = $65.  Mom (and total strangers) gushing all day over the girls= Priceless!
If you do stay here, I strongly recommend carving out some time to use the pool/lake amenities; they are all quite impressive.  The new pool area is massive - three pools with one being heated, a cool waterslide and fountain area for the kids.  The waterslide did have a height restriction of 44 inches.
We had a "lake view" room and could see the fireworks each night.  I understood we were seeing them from Magic Kingdom and from the pool view side, you saw Epcot's. You do need a high floor room, though (we were on 10th).
Overall, a very nice, clean and upscale resort for which if you can't afford paying a premium price (on everything) and tipping - then you need to go elsewhere.  We ate onsite one time; spent $70 (before tip) on a buffet breakfast (2 kids/ 2 adults).  The food was good, but pricey.  The pool menu was the same way (only ordered drinks - $13 for a margarita - $7 for a beer).  Several restaurants within walking distance - many more options, a short cab ride away.
I wasn't crazy about the contemporary design/furnishings of the room- not my style and you have to figure out how things work (I never did figure out how to operate the sink/tub drains).  The shower had this weird glass door that only covered half of the tub.  However, the beds were comfortable and the linens were soft, clean adequate.  The room we had (2 double beds) had a fridge, but no microwave.

Customer service was very good to excellent with only a few minor exceptions.  Check in was a breeze: we got in around 10a on a Sunday, dropped our bags and headed to Epcot.  They called my cell around 1pm to tell me the room was ready.  Bellhops, concierge, front desk were great - so were the doormen (when we needed a cab or car service)!  The best:  Pool service....Now, we only spent a couple of hours at the pool one late afternoon.  It was cold and not crowded, but the staff there were awesome, very pleasant and accommodating.  I didn't have to sign anything for towels - and they let us take them back to room.  I needed a life jacket for my 4 year and they provided one at no charge.
The bad:  the lobby bar, bartenders.  Although not very crowded, they all seemed overwhelmed - served people out of order - and were not that pleasant.  The other exception was our breakfast server in the main restaurant at breakfast time (what do you expect though, it was a buffet).
I'm glad we stayed here, but wish we had had more time to enjoy the amenities.

I spent one night here over a weekend and wish I had an additional night or two to take advantage of all of the on site activities. I spent most of my time swimming around the fantastic pool. For as many children as there are, they keep the property extremely clean. Front desk and restaurant staff members were cheerful, friendly and helpful but pool/towel hut employees were very rude. I hate when hotels tack on that mandatory resort fee, but it is what it is and does not influence my rating here. My only big complaint would be the pool staff viewing kids jumping off the bridges and rocks (not allowed as posted) and not saying anything to the kids or finding their parents. I had one come a foot away from landing on my head as I swam through the cavern under a bridge!

I was here for a convention...the convention spaces were nice, the sound system a bit iffy.  The food was above average.  The grounds are very nice with a lot of variety.  The rooms were spacious, quiet and very clean.  The housekeeping staff was very nice.  The drinks from the bar were good, if pricey.  The room service pizza for one was very good, $26.00.
Not so great:  shuttles to and from Disney were not available.  Towncars were readily available, but not transport for large groups.  I see other reviewers talking about shuttles and never saw one and when we asked we were told there aren't any, so that's a bit odd.
Don't know about the resort fees, etc as that was covered by work.  The front desk went between excellent and grouchy.  Most were excellent which make the grumpy ones stand out even more.   Overall I thought their customer service was better than what we got from Disney, which says more about the drop in Disney's service than it says about the Hyatt's I guess.

My husband had a conference last week and we spent several days in this hotel.  I was very pleased by the entire experience.  The staff was exceedingly nice and helpful.
Our room was generously sized for a hotel room.  Our view overlooked the pool area and it was a nice to look at every day.  I'm not much of a pool or golf person, but this place has very nice facilities.  The pool is divided into several different areas making it more resort like than hotel pool.  There are also water activities available without motors (sailboats, paddleboats, etc).

They have shuttles to and from the major parks.  I didn't use them because the times they left were bad for me.  They change week to week, but when I was there, the first one to Disney left around 8:45am and the first return was 6:45pm.  I needed to be back at the hotel about 4:30 each day.  I thought the taxi price to Disney from the hotel was a bit ridiculous.  First off, we could see Epcot from our hotel room, and see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom at night.  By way the crow flies, this hotel is closest to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. However, to take a taxi to any of the parks it was $25 each way.... about $12 if you took it from Downtown Disney (which is extremely close).  I thought that was a little steep considering the parks themselves are very spread out and it must be cheaper to go to the ones nearest the hotel.

However, since we had rented a car, I just used that and drove to Disney 3 days.  It was $14 a day to park, but cheaper than the taxi and the $14 was worth the frustration of not getting back to the hotel on a shuttle when I needed to do so.

The food I had was pretty okay for hotel food.  It was edible which is better than most.  The only thing I actually got from one of their restaurants was the casual one down by the pool the day I arrived.  It was the only one opened in the afternoon.  I got the calamari and it was just okay.  More like calamari strips and pretty chewy.

They also have 2 large tropical birds in the foyer.  I actually felt kinda bad for them.  Birds are social creatures and like to be around people.  I wonder if they like to be around other birds because they just sit on their perches all day as entertainment for the guests.  I felt bad for them because I saw at least 2 brats really harassing them while I was there.  One girl kept swinging her doll up at the bird (with her parents next to her) and I was surprised at how well behaved the bird was.  If someone kept randoming swinging an object about a foot from my face 20 times in a row, I would have probably swatted her.

The best thing about the entire trip was the bathroom.  The bathroom in my hotel was hands down, the best bathroom I've ever had at any hotel.  It did not have a tub, but was fitted with a directional shower head and a rain one.  The entire set up was gorgeous, spacious, and well thought out.  It was all done with Toto fixtures, and made the entire trip feel a bit more luxurious.  I'd stay here again just for the bathroom.

A client of mine misplaced her glasses in the conference area and although we were unable to locate them, they are extremely organized with their lost and found. The Cascades lunch staff didn't seem to be all on the same page and we were turned away when the place was mostly empty. We ended up resolving the issue however it did leave a small bad taste in my mouth. Pun intended!

I attended a YELP event here with the hubs, and took advantage of a special rate they were offering.  Our room was great and overlooked the lake, and hotel grounds.  The mattress was uber soft, and had a pillow-top (I hate stiff hotel mattresses), and my hubs was impressed by the fact that they had hook ups for the audio/visual cables on any of your favorite electronic devices built into the furnitire holding the TV (convenient for people who travel with their video game consoles).  Another cool feature in the room which I've not seen in many hotel rooms was that they had a cieling fan!  It was fantastic not only to cool the room quickly, but to get some of the air flowing as hotel rooms can feel a bit stuffy in Florida.

Our only complaint reagarding the room was that the AC was really loud, at first I thought it was a fan in the bathroom that would shut off after a while, but it never stopped!  Also, there was a freaky spider in the shower that refused to die!

Hotel is nice and clean, but at the time of my stay most of the hotel was under construction. The rooms that myself and coworkers received are very noisy all day long. Rather than blocking off the rooms near construction they let people stay in them knowing it won't be great experience. Also if you have kids half of the pool area is closed right now for construction.

Finally our group went to the White Horse Sports bar inside the hotel for the game, and come to find out they don't even serve food there. They have a limited room service menu.

This could very well be a nice hotel perhaps I came at a bad time. Won't be trying this one next time though.

Just got back from an overnight stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. Friends of ours from Atlanta were visiting family on the east coast of Florida. We live on the west coast of Florida, so we made plans to meet in the middle for a day before they left the state. Both of us have five-year-old sons, so we wanted to make sure the resort we chose had plenty of activities for young kids.

The Grand Cypress served us well in that regard, for sure. The pool is massive -- with waterfalls, a grotto, a rope bridge, and two water slides. You could easily spend all day there. There is also a lake with paddleboats & kayaks, various types of bikes, a putt-putt golf course, spa, and I can't even remember what else. Our boys went nuts for the water slides at the pool, so we spent most of the afternoon there.

The rooms have been recently updated and are bright & modern. The bathrooms are luxuriously outfitted with rainfall shower-heads and shimmering glass tiles. One weird design element is the bathroom and closet door are one-and-the-same. Close one and you're opening the other. Form over function. Oh, and the hair dryer is a joke.

We stayed on the club level, which provides continental breakfast in the morning, snacks during the day, 5pm appetizers & 8pm desserts. Beer, wine, and cocktails are also available for fee, albeit greatly reduced. The food offerings, especially the appetizers, were hearty & delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful, though obviously busy. My only gripe with the lounge was that it was a bit small and not really conducive to, well, lounging.

Overall, this is a gorgeous hotel with a huge variety of entertainment options. I was slightly underwhelmed by the service, but I realize we were there at a very busy time of year so I'll cut them some slack. I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for our first trip to Disney World ever, and I have the best memories of the outdoor pool area. There are a series of caves and the pools run through them. There are waterslides and hot tubs everywhere out there. When we went, the pools that went through the caves were no heated, so that was a challenge when it was early March.

I remember the birds that were at the entrance, and also the "beach" that was out back as well.  We could see the Disney Fireworks from our room's balcony. That was the best thing of all. They had a shuttle to and from Disney.

All in all, after reading the other reviews it does not seem like much has changed there (including the decor).

    Great place to stay.

One GREAT family Hotel.  This is the first time I have paid a resort fee and actually got my moneys worth!!  Forget the theme parks, stay at the Hotel for the outdoor activities.  Biking, kayaking, wall climb, pools, and a really nice health club!  Only down side - everyone is getting to know about this place and it can get a bit crowded.  Go after labor day for best prices and fewer people.

5 stars for updated comfortable rooms, impressive pool and recreation as well as above and beyond service! I chose this hotel for our family of 6 because of the good reviews and  pool area. All the hotels have a parking & resort fee but I was happy with what we got with ours. We did rock climbing, boating and waters slides for the fee! The poolside Palms dining was reasonably priced and quite good- margarita pizza was best. When I needed milk for our baby and the cafe was already closed the upscale dining room gave it to me complimentary.  We were even able to get a late checkout and enjoy the pool one more day before our flight. This is the hotel to stay at in Orlando!

This review is for the staff at the Hyatt during a private event. I haven't had the chance to stay here... yet!

Wow! What an amazing time!!! The staff were absolutely incredible for our event. I'm still in awe at how friendly, fun, and down to earth they all were. No stiff hotel employees here! They all made it a point to come over, say hello, ask you how you were, and if you had been here before. All in a way that made you think they were someone just coming over to talk. No pressure sales or anything. They truly seemed to enjoy their job and being there.

The venue and grounds were gorgeous, and having wonderful weather and a beautiful sunset didn't hurt either. I felt like I had been whisked away to a far away resort. We even had a wonderful musician playing a guitar in the background.

The food... Oh the food!! We had a number of stations set up with samples from each of their on-site restaurants. My favorite were the Kobe burgers! So yummy! All the stations were presented beautifully and, again, the staff were incredibly friendly.

We got to tour the rooms as well. Wow. They have done a really nice job at renovating. Modern with a retro twist. I like it!

The Hyatt even had a nice bag and 2GB flash drive for us. Nice touch!

I will definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay somewhere nice that isn't on Disney property. I might even be thinking of going here for a staycation.

Only downside is the awful (tourist) traffic getting there, but it's unavoidable. Just take a deep breath and relax because you about to go somewhere lovely and tranquil. :)

I stayed at the Hyatt Grand Cypress for a conference I was attending. My preference when staying at WDW would almost always to be on property at WDW (preferably the Yacht Club Resort), however it wasn't really convenient for the conference and I had limited free time any way, certainly not enough to enjoy the Disney Parks.

With that very long disclaimer, I can say I loved this hotel. Any place else in the country and this might be my first choice. It just doesn't have the themeing and advantages of a Disney hotel.

The rooms are bright and comfortable and very well appointed. The lobby is a spectacular atrium and the pool area is one of the nicest I have seen in a resort hotel.

I also had a couple of great meals in their in-house restaurants. La Coquina Chef's Table was a great meal and had some wonderful fish at Hemingway's.

If you are coming to WDW for business, this is a great choice. It is also a great place for kids and family with all it has to do and a great place for golfers as well.

WoW... this place is amazing. I stay at Hyatt's very frequently & this one has topped them all. Thank goodness considering it's a resort & we chose to spend our Christmas here..lol!

Stayed 9 nights & we still weren't able to participate in all the amenities they offered!

The parrot in lobby was awesome & welcoming :) Also enjoyed the glass of champagne they offered when checking in!

CON- Breakfast service is very slow. After having 10 breakfast their & ordering off menu & buffet I can tell you it's just slow..lol. Time frame not making a difference either.

The inconvenience I found in this is that we were ready to get our day started..lol. Their was alot to be done & seen everyday. And getting held up at breakfast is not fun.

PRO to that con- If you have conceirge with your room then you can stop in their & see what they have. They do all 3 meals unlike any other Hyatt conceirge I've been to yet. So that was a lifesaver some mornings :)

The resort will always have a special place in my heart because this is where I got married.  We had a weekend of food, drinks, and a really awesome pool.  The service was amazing, and all the staff was helpful .  When we got married the rooms were a little dated, but now they have been updated.  They have the best Sunday brunch in Orlando and a pretty cool chefs table also.

Beautiful, Beautiful resort. Literally a vacation unto itself, this Hyatt is the most expansive and impressive facility I've seen outside of Las Vegas... and luckily, with the competitive lodging market in Orlando, prices are lower than you'd expect.

Soaring atrium, exotic birds, modern lighting, amazing pool with waterfalls and hot tubs in rock formations and grottos - not to mention tennis courts, nature trails, and a natural pond with free reign for paddleboats... the place is amazing.

Rooms had a recent refurb that really turned the place around.... from gaudy greens and style brought to you by Grandma Hilda to a sleek look with waterfall showers, modern colors, and huge, flat panel televisions. The rooms are modern yet comfortable, and they even have ceiling fans! (a simple perk I always enjoy)

Every room has a French balcony with a view - some facing the hotel's gardens, fountains, and ponds, others with a fireworks view of Disney parks and the ridiculously amazing pool.

The grounds are HUGE, even in the middle of Lake Buena Vista.. you're on a protected nature preserve. Oh, and that pool? 24 hours, Perfect.

Occasionally, a AAA rate is available that includes free breakfast in Cascades, a smart and simply attractive restaurant that does a very good breakfast buffet, a $25 value pp.

The front desk staff can be a bit flighty and display some attitude from time to time... also, it may take more than one visit to resolve simple problems. The housekeeping staff, however, is friendly and efficient.

Parking can be difficult. Either pay the hefty valet fee, or self park (also for a fee, as of July '11) in a lot outside the convention center, which creates what amounts to a 10 minute walk to your car through the hotel - really.

Speaking of conventions... they happen early and often, and the will fill this place. It's a beautiful resort, the pool is perfect, and the location can't be beat, but you'll never forget you're in a business hotel first... business wearing mouse ears, maybe, but business nonetheless.

I still probably prefer to stay onsite at a Disney hotel when doing the parks - I just can't duplicate the feel, the immersion, the perks- but if I'm staying off property or want to get away from the constant park scene, this may be my favorite hotel in Orlando.

My stay at this resort was too short & my husband wanted to cry b/c we were leaving, lol! We stayed for 4 days/3 nights.

If you want to stay in style in Orlando, this is the place to be.  From the minute you step out of your car, you enter the lap of luxury. The entrance is grand, the lobby is superb, & they even have a jolly green giant sized tablet for guests to use!

Our rooms were very spacious & the bathtub was amazing.  We ordered room service our first night & the food was delicious: expensive, but delicious. The next day I went to their spa: they have 2 spas, one for hair/nails, and the other for massages. The only complaint I have about the spa is that there are no windows, it's very small, and the only way in thru the elevator.

For thanksgiving dinner we went to the hotels restaurant over looking the golf course, the food was amazing!

For our final day we tried out their pools and slides. There was also rock climbing, canoeing, boating, a beach, and lots more to do on the hotel!!

I definately recommend staying here if you can.

I was here just overnight with my 3 year old daughter when I took her to Disney World a few weeks back.

Valets and bell staff were kind--even when I declined their services.

Self parking is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and at night as a women, I didn't feel safe making the trek while carrying my tuckered out child. Another thing I wish I would've known was that self-parking cost's $11 and valet is not that much more.

Front desk staff didn't seem overly welcoming, but again, whatever, I'm here for a night.

Even though the resort was under construction, the room was wonderful. I got most glorious rest and my daughter keeps asking when we can go back. Mini-fridge was in the room, and the beds were so comfy. I wish I could go back today.

All in all, I'll definitely go back.

This hotel has a very airy lobby with 18-floor-high ceiling.  You can see the airy lobby from your glass elevator box while going up and down.
I was also very impressed with their restaurants. Especially "White Horse Bar and Grill". The sushi there was exceptionally good for an American hotel restaurant. Why? Because the 2 sushi chefs are well experienced native Japanese sushi men. (Oh, by the way, I really liked the Soy-Wasabi dressing on my salad.) For breakfast, Cascades is really nice. The seating staff are all wearing a name badge that shows the city and state or country he or she is from.  The person who seated us was a lady from Tokyo, Japan! Yay! I was very happy. We had a very good overall experience at this hotel.

Not really a Sushi Bar because, "Where's the Bar"? Located in the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress's White Horse Bar and Grill.  I would describe this Sushi Bar as Americanized East Coast Sushi Cuisine at it's worst.

I recognize the names of the Sushi rolls, but this is not traditional Sushi roll material here. A California Roll with Krab Salad and sesame seeds outside? A Dynamite Roll with Wasabi Mayo? That's right, Wasabi Mayonnaise....pleeeze!  The eel sauce was watered down disgusting.

Very limited Saki menu.  No Nigori or Pearl to be found.

My husband had the Tuna Sashimi. I had the Spicy Tuna Roll. Inside/Outside roll, Marinated Tuna chunk with Hot Sesame Oil, Kimchee Sauce, Cucumber with Sesame Seeds and Green onions Outside. BIG MISTAKE.  Both were horrible, but worse was that, one hour later I either coincidentally got the stomach flu, or it was a piece of bad fish because the entire next day was not fun.

The manager told us that they had no other reportings of food poisoning and that they have not had problems in the past so I don't know for certain. One thing I do not for certain, the food was horrible here so if you want fresh traditional sushi at a real sushi bar, don't come here.

THIS RESORT HOTEL IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

I rarely give 5 stars, but my stay here was really great. I travel frequently for business and try to stay at one of the resort hotels if I can.

They have 3 or 4 different restaurants on site, so you basically have access to whatever you're in the mood for each evening/afternoon. I tried the sushi, which I would recommend, and the sports bar, which I would also recommend.

The shower they have in the rooms is absolutely out of this world, I would honestly get one for home if I could. They have a very large shower head in the ceiling, and a wand on the wall, and you can run both at the same time.

For the self parking, it was pretty decent and fairly close to the hotel, so I can't really complain there.

The only real downside are all of the typical resort fees that you're charged. I'm used to the 5 different types of tax they'll change, but they had additional fees just for the hotel and for parking which rounded out to just over an additional $50 a day. If you can afford it and you don't really care, more power to you. I was on business travel so it wasn't a huge deal. Just FYI to those on a strict budget, they have a lot of hidden fees at this place.

To start - the extra amenities definitely made this place worth the money!  It's super-family friendly and the staff were extremely friend and very accommodating.  They were very kind and helpful even though they had a very packed house the entire time we were there.  The service at the pool was a little slow at first, but once you get served, they are super nice and very cordial.

Food - I can't speak for the restaurants as we didn't really get a chance to actually eat at the onsite restaurants.  But, the one time we did order room service for the kids....it was NOT GOOD.  And, it was pretty basic, spaghetti or something easy, so that's not saying much.

Service - GOOD, as I stated, very helpful for the most part!

Amenities - AWESOME, very well kept, everything in good and working condition

Rooms - nothing super special, but clean and nice enough (there were not suites available during our stay, so we were in a double with our kids)

Parking - A bit out of the way and pricey - they really do charge you for everything here, but I guess that's expected.

Overall, great experience and I would go back.  POOL WAS AWESOME as was waterslide and rock walls and all the other cool amenities available.

This place had a true resort feel to it - lots to do for adults and kids of all ages!

This place was seriously cool!  I've stayed in lots of hotels and resorts, but this place was SO impressive!  A HUGE lobby welcomes you, the staff was very curteous, and even the landscaping was impressive.

Everything was fantastic, but the Steam Room and Sauna was really amazing.  It sits behind the (small, yet useful) fitness center, which is under the "cave" of rocks/waterfalls that spill into one of the pools.  (Seriously, impressive architechture...)  Anyways, the fitness center wasn't anything to write home about, oldish carpet, kinda sweaty smell like lots of small gyms have, but then going back into the Women's locker room, I was greeted with squishy white shower mats on the floor, copious amounts of white towels, and a pristine sauna and steam room.  I had the place to myself!   There were also lockers with keys to store your belongings, and two showers outside the sauna/steam room.  I felt like I was at the spa for the morning :)

Overall a fantastic stay, I highly recommend it!

Wow honestly I was blown away by this hotel.... Words cannot express how much I enjoyed staying here for nearly a week.
The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, the bed the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on in my entire life, the balcony had an amazing view, the bathroom spectacular with a rain shower that was so relaxing. I loved the food there as well they have a breakfast buffet which we hit up more times than not, they had a station where a cook made fresh for you the most amazing Belgium waffle I've ever had and  one of the beat selections ever from typical things like scrambled eggs and bacon to an amazing cheese and meat display. The waitstaff at the buffet were the most friendly and warm people... No matter how busy the always were around when needed. But unfortunately the same cant be said for the other guests who acted like they had never saw food before, this was definitely a wait your turn move down the line very classy style of buffet, yet I really felt like slapping some of these people and teaching them some manners. I had a man literally nearly knock me over and smashed my plate against my shirt (not cool) because he wanted to get to the scramlbed eggs before me. I had another man snatch up the fork thing for the ham right as my hand was inches above it, not to mention on one busy day there were tons of people waiting all infront of the desk area since my sister is in a wheel chair and my daughter in her stroller we were sitting in the tables on the main level not the dropped down area so we had to walk past the desk to get to the buffet. So since my fiancé and father eat in 3 seconds to go have ciggys outside my mom and I are left with my sister and my baby, I have to go up twice once for me once for my mom. So with a million other places to stand this brawd stands right im the only walkway and even though she can clearly see she's in the way and I've had to say excuse me 3 times now (up, back, up,) on my way back I say excuse me she has the nerve to roll her eyes and ughhh. Really? Seriously? I wanted to dump my eggs on her head for real. But anywho I didn't because they were delicious and I knew it so I just said "your in the way of everyone" and with a shocked face she said sorry and looked like she realized she almost got fed To the alligators that live outside :)  ok so  also I  a night owl so I ordered room service a couple times and omg my new favorite sandwich ever by far is this turkey Sandwich with a fried egg on it not something I would typically eat but I tried it planning on taking off the egg and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was soooooo freaking good I ate it almost once a day. (btw there was this amazing sauce that I got one of the nights from room service it wasn't the wasabi ranch cause I tried it the next night but it was something green and amazing anyone know what it was?) so my parents practically call this place their second home they bring my little sister and just lay by the pool and relax so they ALWAYS sit in a certain waitress' section ( I think her name is Vonda super tan super cool) they constantly talk about the amazing piña coladas so of course I try one and WOW whatever rum it was I asked And forgot was honestly the best drink I have ever ever ever had and boy was she quick when we needed refills! Not Ro mention almost half the staff knew my dads name everywhere we went I heard someone say oh hi Mr. Malloy! Awesome. The rooms were soooo nice and modern just like the rest of this hotel that has a parrot named Merlot that loved my pink hair :) I will without a doubt return many times!!!!

I stayed there for a conference and I thought it was great, especially for being so close to Disneyworld!

*Rooms:  big, clean, very modern but still comfortable.  The heater worked, which is always a plus.  It was always clean and never found any issues in the room.
*Fitness Center:  A decent one...not the greatest but its open 24 hours.  There's only one rack of weights.  There's about 5-6 each of treadmills, bikes & ellipticals and several machines so it did the trick.
*Pool:  I didn't get to go to the pool but it was beautiful from what I could see from my room.  There were plenty of chairs around and the pool leaked into caves and a grotto under waterfalls... beautiful
*Game Room:  At least they have one!
*Restaurants:  I only went to the White Horse and from what I had (the sushi) it was pretty good.  Could have better wines though.

Overall, great experience.  Although there were a couple of wine & drink glasses on the floor of the hallway for days that I thought was odd, but really...what does that matter?

WISH I WASN'T HERE FOR WORK.

I was defaulted to this hotel after the conference hotel booked up.  Still not that far of a drive to the Orange Convention Center, but closer to a lot of other fun stuff and the airport (I am in my mid 20's).

So in the afternoon, my coworkers and I would find convenient happy hour spots around the hotel, and the hotel itself has an amazing resort complete with everything, pools, lagoon bars, beaches, gators (yes), hammocks.  As amazingly fun these hotel amenities are, its something you would enjoy more with a gf or family w/ kids.

I am a diamond member at this hotel and got an immediate complementary room upgrade to a corner room (more window/balcony views) and it was amazing.  King size bed, really made me feel like a bachelor, and the most comfortable linens and stuff from any hyatt i've been.  Don't want to keep rambling on but all in all i highly recommend this hotel to anyone from single young professionals, families with little kids, and or a getaway with your significant other.  Orlando attractions and airport are right around the corner too.

I wouldn't recommend this to: Spring Breakers (not that kind of place), if your trip agenda is going out at night and meeting girls/boys... you go to the W for that sorta thing.

BACKGROUND:  my hotel expertise level.... I travel for work for the past 5 years of my job.  I am probably on the road 5-10 times a year, with a length of anywhere from a week to 4 months at a time.  Sometimes i would stay at hotels for a full month, or I would just get corporate housing.  So I would say that i kind of know hotels, but relative to my liking.

As a frequent traveler, I spend a lot of time in Hyatts.  I would consider this one of the more important properties in the portfolio since it is the only full service resort catering to the Disney crowd in Orlando.  I am very sympathetic when things don't work exactly as planned - that is a part of life.  I do get frustrated however, when these hiccups don't get addressed.  Self parking requires a special swipe card - mine did not work.  Annoying, but not the end of the world.  Being a resort hotel, you must pay a resort fee which covers a variety of amenities, one of which is a shuttle to and from the theme parks.  The night I attempted to use it, it was over an hour late and three phone calls to the hotel provided no information.  I don't mind it being late - but how is it that they have no way of figuring out why or where it is?  I can't be the only one with a cell phone, LOL!  I ended up taking a cab back, which did bother me.  The final issue was my room key.  Neither key I had worked, so I went down to the front desk and got them "re-keyed".  Came back up and again, they didn't work.  Another trip to the front desk which resulted in having to wait for security to let me in.  They provided me a third key which I used and guess what - it still didn't work.  No one thought anything of it which was really annoying at midnight.  It would have been even worse if I was saying more than one night.  When I checked out, the front desk staff could have cared less.

The property grounds were really quite nice and the regency club was one of the better ones.  It is a shame that the staff didn't do the property justice.  In fairness to Hyatt, when I relayed my poor experience, they did offer me some points and their apologies which I appreciate.  I will give them another shot in the future and hope their staff makes some improvements.

    This place is AWESOME~!
I had a great time here when I was able to stay here during a conference my husband had. We had a King Bed room and it was plenty of space with a LOVELY shower. It didn't have a separate door for the actual bathroom. You could use the closet door as a bathroom door. It was also close enough to the shopping areas that we had a chance to take a cab for under $10 to Downtown Disney or Outlet Stores.
One of my favorite part of the hotel was the pool/water park. There were slides, wait staff, heated pools, LOTs of chairs/umbrellas and towels. I loved it that the pool area was opened for 24 hours. My husband and I were able to go swimming and the water slides at 11pm. That was the highlight of the evening.

I grew up visiting Disney and always staying at the Regency Grand Cypress and I remember their talking parrots, the awesome regency club level where they have these giant delicious cookies for you to devour, and the great customer service that gives it that Hyatt touch.

The Hyatt is a beautiful resort with all the amenities and friendly staff that can serve as a get away for locals or a second home for travelers from afar.

Check in was a breeze.  The young lady who assisted me was extremely courteous.  Upon check- in, you receive a complimentary glass of champagne.  I didn't notice any major difference in the RESPIRE rooms until that evening, when I returned from hanging out and my nose stopped running.(which had been a problem all night) Self parking is $12 per night, 1/2 the cost of valet.  If you don't mind an extra 5 minute walk, save your money.  You can unload your car and take everything to your room, and then return to self park.  The hotel is going under renovations, which they explain prior to making a reservation, but there are more than enough amenities to keep you occupied.  Pool area is first rate.  Fitness Center is adequate.  All in all, I feel very confident I will return here in the future

This was truly one of the most wonderful and relaxing vacations we have had. Their service and hospitality was excellent.  From the minute you check in you are warmly greeted and are presented with a glass of champagne.  Their services are wonderful along with all their amenities including lavish pools, gyms, and several outdoor activities.  There are several restaurants amongst the property and a great food and bar restaurant at the pool where you don't have to leave to have lunch or dinner with drinks, they bring them right to you. We had a wonderful time.

I brought my fiancée here for a birthday getaay. We usually stay at the holiday inn or Wyndham across from downtown Disney. I thought this would be a nice step up. Unfortunately, when I checked in I found out about a $23 resort fee per day. So, since I booked on Hotwire, my nightly rate was now up to $113. She then tells me ok, there will also be a $10 per day for self parking or $15 per day for valet. So I opt for self parking, so now my nightly rate is up to $123. No big deal, it's a little more than Wyndham or holiday inn. I was still excited because the lobby is gorgeous, and welcoming. I go back to the car to park and grab the luggage. We proceed to the self parking which is literally a 10 minute drive. There wasn't a spot in the 500 spot parking lot. In fact there see cars parked on the side roads and grass that said no parking. I dropped off my fiancée at the self parking hotel entrance and went to park the car literally 300 yards past the self parking lot. I got to the room slightly heated, and called the front desk and asked whats up with the parking, she said oh there's a pageant in the hotel so parking should get better later. I asked if they could provide complimentary valet service for the hotel guests, she said she she had no control over the parking and by no means can she comp the parking rate. I said is there nothing else she could do? She said unfortunately not I'm sorry sir!

The next day I called and asked if it was possible to do a late checkout as I thought this was a normal question. The front desk responded by saying unfortunately, we are fully committed so you will be responsible to checkout as normal at 11:00am. Now I understand the NAM pageant that was being held in the hotel is a priority, but you cannot allow it to affect the overall function of the hotel.

The pool is amazing, but unfortunately the weather did not permit for a fun day at the pool. I think going forward I will continue to book my stays at the holiday inn or the Wyndham down the street. I worked in the hospitality/hotel business long enough to know that banquets are important to the business of a hotel, but if an event effects the hotel guests in anyway the guests need to be compensated accordingly. The extra people on the property greatly effected the elevators as well. It was consistently 5-10 minutes on an elevator not to mention the wait before getting on the elevator.

I'm a baseball fan and was looking forward to watching the home run derby at the white horse saloon and sports bar, but no this bar was not even open for our stay. Very disappointing Hyatt! I feel like since I reserved on Hotwire I was maybe discriminated against, maybe that's why I kept getting told no sir! I don't get it!

This is a tough one. My wife and I decided to do a tax-free shopping marathon over in O-Town and actually stay the night for a change. Soooo, I logged into Priceline and did my usual excellent bidding and got the 4 star rated Hyatt for about $75 - SWEET!

I called to confirm the booking after it was complete - ok. I called at 6PM yesterday to make sure they still had our room as we hadn't checked in yet - ok. The manager and I joked a bit, sounded like a good guy even though he was sporting a fake British accent.

About 8PM, we FINALLY made it to the hotel.. and they said "We have your King Non-Smoking, but it;s really 1/2 of a suite with a rollaway bed in it, okay?"

    WTF!

Apparently, to THEM, staying in someone else's den constitutes the equivelant of a King room. SERIOUSLY? ARE YOU PEOPLE HIGH?

    I was HOT.

But then they came through in the end and gave us a room "that they're not even supposed to rent out". It was a 2 story suite on the 17th floor with it's own HUGE outdoor terrace, a soaker tub, wine fridge, very cool modern decor. Really one of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in.

See the dilemma? Do they SUCK because they wanted to put us on a rollaway bed or are they awesome because of the pimp-suite we ended up in...hmmm.

    What do you think?

This really is a beautiful property, with lots to do, in a very convenient location close to Disney and the malls. But a warning - parking is $12 overnight, there's a $22 resort fee and all kinds of other little charges.

    So 4 stars.. I think.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a resort near Disney. You will be easily overwhelmed by the hotel's abundant amenities - multiple pools with water slides, artificial beach and lake with various water sport facilities, golf course, tennis courts, rock climbing wall and numerous good restaurants on site. The hotel is almost an attraction itself. Everything is well maintained and very enjoyable. Most facilities open 24/7 so you can come back to your hotel to wind down after a long day at the theme parks.

The rooms are pretty standard and nothing too fancy. Bed was comfortable. The bathtub is a bit small but who cares about bubble bath when there are so many nice jacuzzi outside? Service was good as far as I can tell. The hotel staff was very accommodating. I was able to call ahead have my room ready for my early check in.

Given the size of the hotel I really think there should really be better signs and maps around. There were nothing indicating the self parking lot and front lobby which was rather strange.  There were also some hiccups with the hotel room keys. I wish they could simply the logistic though. A key for room, a key for parking and a key for towel for each guest? That's just a bit obsessive.

We had a great time. I don't know about self parking. We didn't hear about fees for that. We did valet and it was about $20 for a day. Expensive compared to one time mall or restaurant valets but it was for the whole day, we didn't want to bother with self parking and lugging our stuff from further away.

I don't know about a resort fee. We just paid for the rate we were given, valet, breakfast and tip. The pool area was open to us.

There was construction when we got there but by evening they stopped and we spent our days away anyway.

We took the shuttle to Disney. I think the service was good and on time.

The pool area was beautiful. We didn't bother to go during the day. We only went around midnight so the place was quiet and we didn't have to compete with other guests.

The breakfast buffet was really good but expensive for breakfast. ~$25.

As for our room, we got a regular room with a king sized bed. A little smaller than a previous hotel room we had before but well thought out, updated and very clean and comfortable. We loved it especially with the great shower.  It was one of those big shower heads on the ceiling and you can also turn on a handheld one at the same time.  We didn't have a tub nor would we have used one anyway.  we had no problem with hot water. It was actually too hot at first until we figured out the controls. It stayed hot for a long time even with our toddler playing around with the water for a while. Though not organic, it was a thoughtful touch to have bath products without harmful things like parabens.

Our room also came with an air filter, ceiling fan, and a small fridge without a freezer.  The Internet was easy to setup on my phone and was fast for browsing and emailing photos and videos of our trip.  Plus we had a great view of the pool area.

We don't have the hotel credit card. But apparently we have a rewards account we had forgotten about.

If you are active duty military, you should ask for their rates. :) They give a pretty good discount. We booked a few days before for Labor Day weekend on the phone.

We woke late the day we checked out, called down and asked for a late checkout.  They accommodated us by giving us another hour and they said they couldn't do more because they were booked. If we still wanted to use the facilities for the rest of the day we could leave our things with them. It was more than enough for us.

Overall we felt very at home. The staff was very professional, thoughtful, prompt and friendly.

As for further improvements, when we were at the pool very late, we couldn't find pool towels. We didn't bother to ask staff because there was none around outside and no one was answering the service call buttons by the lounge chairs BUT keep in mind,  this was midnight. We didn't even expect the area to be open so late.

The elevators were a little funky at times. Sometimes it would skip our floor for no reason but this didn't happen all the time.

The balcony is not child safe. Our toddler could put her head through the bars.

Calling the valets ahead of time from the room, sometimes the button wouldn't work but the valets let us know an alternative number.

This is a huge hotel, but the restaurant selection was sub-par and the gym was being renovated. I took the elevator to level P1- or whatever floor the parking garage is on, I made a quick right according to the sign and opened up the heavy metal door. Voila, the makeshift gym! It was small, but it at least had a big TV playing CNN. Hopefully, that whole thing was very temporary. When you're in Buena Vista with no plans to hit up Disney World, your hotel best have a nice gym.

This is a true Oasis amongst the normal traffic jam of Disney-oriented Orlando. It's easy to forget you're in central Florida instead of a beach side resort, as you explore the caves and waterfalls down by the pool area, or go kayaking around the resort's private lake. It is pristine and clean, the decor rocks, service is impeccable, and the restaurants exemplary.

My only complaint is the fact that the hot water had a tendency to not be hot enough and to alternate between just right and luke warm. Every other positive totally outweighed this detail, however. HIGHLY recommend.

Terrible (from my most recent experience here in December), unless you are planning your trip around visiting Disney. For the price of the rooms, you'd think they would mention all the pools and hot tubs are closed and under construction through the entire holiday season, when booking the reservation. Since much of our trip was planned around this, it turned out to be quite the bust.

Otherwise- it's a decent resort, minus all the Disney-related traffic headaches and consumer traps. The WiFi is free (BIG plus for me at any hotel), the beds are nice and it's located next to Downtown Disney. There's also a parrot that hangs out in the massive lobby. Nearby, there are several dining options, including the fancy Hemingway's.

However, things I noted (closed pools and hot tubs aside): the showers don't get very hot for long, the bathroom towels are terrible (can we say rough and as small/thin as a handkerchief?), they're very quick to charge you for any forgotten pool towels, and the phones in the room (both of them) kept getting disconnected from any sort of connection.

I have stayed at Hyatt in different places (San Francisco, Jacksonville, Miami etc) this Grand Hyatt was beautiful. Our room was overlooking at the golf course, swimming pool & the hiking trails they've got. Few of the minor bad things we didn't like was the pillows - they weren't soft or at least medium soft! Lol. Queen bed was kinda hard on the back. Bathroom was good in terms of design & a glass shower door, but be careful though with the shower. Once u shower, the water will flow down the floor & come out to the sides of it. No rugs provided when u get out of the shower, so you'll be using one of your towels. For the parking, if you decided not to have the valet parking, you'll be finding a parking space that is really far from the main building & good luck on walking (not good if you've got bags to carry though).

Welcome to a wonderful full service hotel, yes Dorothy they still exist even in tourist town of Orlando. Staff was so pleasant, at all of the various positions, bellman, front desk, wait staff, pool staff, and amenities staff. From beginning to end they shined. Pool and grounds will keep you outside no matter the temp, one of the best hotel gyms that I have had the pleasure of using. The meeting rooms were acoustically  spot on. Food for the corporate meetings was above average. Service by the staff was outstanding, job well done.

Comfortable hotel, friendly staff and varied recreational activities. Overall an A+ location as Hyatt did it right. If you want an Oasis away from the shear craziness of Disney Resort (trust me, if you plan to attend the parks - you'll want to get away each night), then this is the ideal location. There was so much to do here that we ran out of time after staying here a full week! The fact they welcome dogs on select floors is an absolute dream. For that reason alone, I have selected this Hyatt as my go to Orlando destination. Then when you add in all the other value you get for the price of the room and a slight resort charge, its the perfect family destination.

This hotel is absolutely AMAZING. Very clean, modern, and upscale with easy parking. Great location. Close to restaurants, pharmacy, and Downtown Disney.  I've stayed here for 5 days with my mom and I must say I was very impressed with the property. The pool area is really cool and super fun full of cavern style design with waterfalls and hot tubs. There is also a lake inside the property where you can ride kayaks for no extra cost. You can also ride bikes inside the property. The service was outstanding.  Room service was great. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my stay. I can't wait to go back there.

And the coffee bar in the lobby that would take so long the coffee was cold. And the dinner at the club house in the villas with the missing staff ... yes we and the rest of the restaurant  were looking for the wait staff.  This place is such a dissapointment after 20 years... sad was such a great place at one point.. Awful! Awful! We went there for Easter and it was awful! We are Hyatt frequent guests and are Diamond rewards members. This was the first and last time we will ever stay here. The two stars are for the parrot in the lobby, as he was quite charming. From the beginning it was a nightmare. They charged various amounts of money to our debit bank card when the stay was to be comped using our points. None of the staff could figure out why it kept happened every time they attempted to reverse the charge they kept mumbling about a computer accounting glitch. This glitch charged our account nearly $400 on average per day! It was like the hokey pokey... Money kept coming out then a less amount was refunded back in it was stressful and ridiculous. The service manager, was unsympathetic and rude. She then said our room wouldn't be ready for about 45min, then an hour later she said it would be another 30min. This is diamond member rewards?!? Then she offered a glass of champagne to everyone else, but my husband and I, again unbelievable. We then asked for the hotel manager. They brought a very young woman who made us repeat everything to her and all she took from it was that she could get me a drink from the bar?!? What about the missing money and room, hello ding dong!?? The resort itself has a very nice lobby with a parrot, but that's where it ends. The downstairs restaurant is pretty bland and the cafe next to it was never open according to the posted hours. The restaurant we had Easter brunch at was awful. Can you imagine no eggs on the menu? The deck chairs alongside the pool were old and stained nothing like the pictures. The fire pit was gross and dirty. The pools and caves were okay but not good for kids as they were very slippery and dark. The outdoor bar service was non existent. We wrote to the management about our horrible experience but now after 3 months they have not responded. Save your money and points and stay at another Hyatt like the converted Peabody near the convention center as it is truly a diamond reward experience!

We had some trouble with the reservation; we requested a certain suite with a terrace, but on arrival, that suite was no longer available.  it took almost an hour standing at the front desk with the check-in agent and a supervisor before the issue was resolved and we finally got our terrace.   And it was huge!  Well done Hyatt!

Great service by the hotel staff, and really nice amenities and facilities. This is a great resort for anyone whether you are traveling for business or with the family. I stayed here while I was attending a convention in town. They have a beautiful pool area that is open 24 hours. They are also close to all the theme parks, and have shuttles to and from them. My only complaint is that from a business expense standpoint, their billing method is very overly complicated. My card was charged a large deposit upon making the reservation. Then, it was charged another large deposit sum every night for incidentals. This made expensing and itemizing very confusing.

WOW is all I can say!!!! Not all but you know what i mean.

Came here for a business conference. Typically this company does not pick the cheap place to stay, but they really picked a winner this year!! When we pulled in off the main street I knew we where in for a treat.

We went to check in and as we did out paperwork we where offered a glass of champagne. I had a minor issue as my company booked the room but as I did not have that card I had to use my card for the room charges. This was taken care of once the front desk send over a form to my boss and got it signed off. They where very helpful in getting everything resolved. Come checkout time there where no issues and the charges that where but on my card all get reversed.

Onto the hotel itself. Our room overlooked the pool and the walkway down to the pool, also had a nice view of the Epcot ball. The room was very clean and looked damn near new. Free internet and a nice flatscreen. Even had a nice desk work space. The bathroom was a little odd as there was no door or screen to seperate the toilet area from the sink and shower. Minor detail but a little odd. The shower was AMAZING!!!! Hot hot hot water, a hand wand that was just freaking awesome!!

All of our meeting took place down stairs in the conference area. All of the meals they served where very good, fresh food and great service. I wont go into much detail as most people dont come here for the conference food.

We did spend on evening in one of the bars, service was quick and nice, beer was cold and the price was not bad for a hotel bar.

One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the amazing pool. There is a nice heated area, plenty of area to sit out and a nice size hot tub with a built in waterfall. The backside of the pool has a bitchin little water slide. As we might of had a few cocktails, it was late and there was not another soul around we had way too much fun on the slide and swimming around. Mid day there are plenty of kids and familys around but there is so much area you can find a nice place to hang out and enjoy the pool.

As a lifelong Orlando resident, I have driven by and walked through the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress many times, but only recently did I have a chance to stay there.

The first thing that strikes you when you enter is the grand lobby, with its gorgeous, expansive open spaces and oriental-influenced gardens.

Upon check-in, we were greeted with complementary champagne and eagerly went up to check out our room.

The rooms have been renovated recently, and they have a modern, Japanese look with lots of gorgeous Murano-glass-like accents. The garden view from our balcony window was gorgeous.

If this place were any more Posh, it would be married to an overhyped British soccer player.

We went for a walk in the garden area, which features beautiful, winding garden paths. This is perhaps the most beautiful garden in Orlando, even compared to the gardens at Disney.

One more note on the room. The sofa was actually comfortable. This is the first hotel I have stayed at in my life that had a comfortable sofa in it.

The shower is one of those luxurious rain-from-the-ceiling type of deals.

There are two things that keep me from giving this hotel five stars.

The first is that it is next to impossible to find a place open for lunch within the resort if you don't feel like eating at the pool, and this was on a Saturday! I think that their lobby bar and the sports bar at least should have been open for lunch.

The second reason has to do with the two parrots in the lobby.... a green-wing macaw who seemed a little stressed at his current gig as hotel greeter, and a sulfur-crested cockatoo (sign says umbrella cockatoo, but it isn't) who resolved himself to mellow acceptance of tourists pointing at him. These birds were beautiful, but as a bird lover I felt that they deserved a better lot in life. (I overheard an employee saying that they "lost" several birds in the recent remodel, which kind of reinforces my suspicion that these birds are environmentally stressed).

We will definitely be back for another, longer stay. My wife already wants to stay here for our tenth anniversary next year.

The service and aesthetics of this hotel are very nice, but my main gripe lays within their wifi service. For free, you'll get a 200kbps connection that'll get the job done if you want to check email or conduct simple web browsing. There are two upgrade packages; one that simply speeds up your internet, and one that does the same as the previous one plus it adds a Netflix-like service. I purchased the former package for $5, expecting a good ~1-2 Mb/s download rate like most other hotels would offer (for free might I add) but I was greatly disappointed when I discovered it boosted my download speeds by a meager 300kbps, at a total of 500kbps. While this is more than double the speed of the regular package, it still leaves more to be desired as the current year is 2014 and most hotels offer a 1-2 Mbps connection. Overall, very nice place, but the bad wi-fi sort of ruined it for me. I would still go to this place again though, since it is pretty nice and I'm not spending every waking minute in my room.

So i decided to book a trip for my seven year old daughter  because it was our first trip to Disney. I picked this hotel because the pics were amazing and it was about a 10-15 drive to all the parks. When i drove up to the stop where they direct you to the resort, the woman tells me there is a pageant being held at the hotel for the entire weekend. I was annoyed at first because no where on the website it stated there was going to be 300-500 more people in the hotel that weekend for the NAM pageant. To make matters worse, the entire parking lot was full. So i had to park about 10 minutes away from the parking lot for two days and I was still charged with parking fees. The staff catered more to the pageant contestants then to the vacationers. For the price of the hotel, I should have had a better experience. especially since they charge you additional fees at the hotel!

The pros are the food was good, the pool is amazing and the scenery was up to par. They have a really nice jogging path as well. But the weather sucked the whole time there. It was rainy and chilly. I wouldn't go back to this hotel.

We checked in to this resort hotel on 09/11/13 for a 4days/ 3 nights visit to Orlando. We saw so many nice photos about the hotel and its facilities (especially the swimming pools), and that's the main reason we picked this hotel.

Unfortunately, the main attraction - the big pool was closed. My friend and I were very disappointed. The girls at the reception said there was a leak. They'd to close the pool to drain out the water and fix the leak. Later did we find out that it was actually a planned renovation and the pool won't be opened till the 20th. We walked back to the lobby and asked to speak to the manager. We explained to her that we weren't happy about what's going on with the pool. She lied through her teeth by telling us that it is just temporarily closed and will be opened on the following day. We told her we have spoken to the people who were working at the pool and she said she wasn't aware that the pool will be closed for another 1+ week.

Before leaving for Orlando, I have been checking out the hotel website almost on a daily basis, and I also called in about 4-5 times to confirm my booking and also ask a few questions about the rooms, transportation, etc. but no one brought up about the pool closure, especially when it was a planned renovation, and nothing was stated on their website. I would have picked another hotel or postpone the trip to 09/21 if I knew about this earlier.

The manager was kind enough to waive the resort fee for our entire stay, which wasn't much. I just wish they could be more honest with us.

Had a really nice weekend there, the best thing is the pool and they also have a neat little lake that you can go sailing on or kayaking for FREE! it's included with the resort fee.

Prices are really high for food so just bring your own there is a little fridge in the room.

The door to the bathroom is kinda awkward it slides one way and closes to the bathroom door and when it opens it closes the closet door.

Wifi signal was only 3-2 bars in my room not so great and the in room ethernet cable didn't work, nor did the provided HDMI interface the TV is locked down so you can only use the remote control to turn it on and off which is seriously annoying.

Still it's a great resort and very beautiful and pretty well maintained. Also enjoyed our meal at Hemingways.

Very pleasant resort hotel. We stayed here for 9 days, doing Disney World with the family and kids. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, service was impeccable, and the little kayaking pool was definitely a kid favorite.

We had an absolutely lovely room - one of the larger suites, as my husband travels a lot for work and he's some special status member. Soo...no complaints there for sure! We had actually several rooms to call our own, it was a little ridiculous. There were treats in our room each day, too, from the hotel to say thanks for our business.

The bath robes are super great here too - I always thought it was odd that they are different at each Hyatt, but there's probably some system I don't understand. I particularly liked the weight and softness of these robes, though.

When we stayed here, we were amazed. Upon check-in, we were given complimentary champagne and made to feel like royalty. The room welcomed us with its flat screen TV that had my name on it. Dad's were comfy and the view was spectacular. The shower was a little strange, there was only a small panel of glass. The water ended up getting all over the floor and was a little strange. And also, the parking lot was a little difficult to navigate. And it was also a little far of a walk. Unfortunately, they did not have a shuttle running at the times we needed so we ended up taking a taxi to downtown Disney which was not that expensive, only about $15. We did not get to use the pool, but it looked amazing. We wanted to check out these awesome looking grotto from the photo but did not get to do that. I guess we'll just have to stay here again!

Absolutely horrible. I went here the weekend I became engaged to my fiance, therefore I signed up for the romance package which includes a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and roses. Well upon coming back from popping the big question at Disney World, I arrive at the hotel to find out they completely forgot to do it even though I coordinated a time with the front desk. (Which they also slipped and asked what time they should deliver the package in front of my fiance upon arriving). They promised to deliver the next morning, and they forgot once again. It was not until the 3rd attempt that they finally delivered, and did a poor job in doing so. They didn't even wait for the right time, they arrived while I was still in the room. I was also convinced to upgrade to pool side view to get a view of the fireworks from Disney at midnight. Turns out, there is no fireworks at midnight. They are shot into the air at 10 pm. Overall horrible experience. The front desk and management did not accept responsibility for any of this and did nothing to make it right. I definitely do not recommend anyone staying here. Absolute waste of money.

Fantastic staff and staff as well. We all appreciate the staff not kicking out the "loud car guys" from the bar our last night. I personally enjoyed that you provided high speed wifi and maid staff always had a little something extra waiting for me in my room, in anticipation of my needs. Again, it was a very nice experience.

the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a FABULOUS hotel.

I have had the opportunity to stay here twice for work and what I love most is that there are plenty of activities and very nice restaurants to keep yourself busy in down time.

No matter the reason for your stay, book at least one day to hang out on the hotels property. They have a rock wall, a gorgeous swimming pool, hot tubs, water slides, bikes, and paddle boats. There are riding trails and a little beach. Poolside service (food & cocktails.)

I love that there is a mini fridge in the room so that you can store food & water. Not many hotels offer that anymore. (oh, and FREE WI FI)

This last weekend, a few girlfriends & I flew in a few days prior to work. We had planned to visit a Disney theme park but decided to spend our day at the resort.

My favorite restaurant on the resort in Hemingways. Although pricey, the food is AMAZING!

Amazing pool!  Anywhere else and the hotel would be a destination in and of itself... but in Orlando everyone gets rather ho-hum about it.  Swim through a grotto, fun pool slide... heated pool... another pool with volleyball net... waterfalls... just terrific.  And they have various non-motorized watercraft and assorted bikes for kids and adults... you will be busy all day if you wish... or you can just plop pool side and sip one of their yummy cocktails.  Rooms are comfortable.  Ask for fireworks view and you'll see Magic Kingdom and Epcot respective fireworks shows.  Biggest negatives are the price (all this isn't cheap) and it can be a bit of a schlep from the self-parking lot to your room.  But, all-in-all, a recommend.

Thank you to the friendly staff over at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress hotel for being welcoming, helpful, overall awesome! We had a leadership conference event this past weekend over this locale and it was a great experience all around. The lobby was artistically pleasing to the eye and the amenities were abundant. 24-hour gym access, rock climbing, boating on lake, pool swimming, bike riding, and plenty others i didnt get to do on top of an awesome conference, made this one of the best experiences ever (WATER SLIDE!). I recommend anyone to stay a night, or two, or more...go nuts! Have yourself a grand ole time!

This Hyatt is almost a cross between a business hotel for convention attendees and a resort for families in Orlando for the theme parks. The grounds are impeccable and landscaping is about perfect. The pool is a massive, rambling creation with slides and grottoes featuring several separate hot tubs.

Food is fine in the hotel and there are options within a very short drive.

The location is close to the parks. OHGC requires your name be on a list to get anywhere near the property.  I would recommend visitors to the Convention Center stay closer to the facility and visitors to the parks should strongly consider staying on the property.

One of my favorite places...officially....could be because of.......

The Hotel - modern, beautiful, amazing staff, free glass of bubbly at check in, open and tons of light streaming in the lobby, beautiful plants, feels like I was in a tropical paradise.

The Rooms - very updated and modern, amazing views (pool side you can see the Disney fireworks), even the soaps were amazing, the shower....ohhh the shower.

The Pool - where do I start....huge, water slide, volleyball, a huge mountain rock type cavern that the pool weaves into, hot tubs and jacuzzi's abound outside and under the mountain rocks (which have waterfalls flowing over the top into the pool), tons of lounge chairs to bask in the sun, lots of umbrellas if you don't like basking, there is also a bar and gym under and inside the mountain rock (pic uploaded).

The Beach - Yes I did say beach...with hammocks and awesome water sports and fishing.

The Restaurants - there is something for everyone. And if you go to the restaurant right off the pool (can't remember the name) they have an AMAZING Volcano sushi roll! And the seaweed salad is amazing as well.

The Shops - There are some amazing artist shops inside that you at least have to stroll by...beautiful and interesting pieces.

The Location - so close to all of the parks and walking distance (mind you I live in the city so my walkable may not be everyone's walkable) to Downtown Disney.

All in all, I can't wait to go back and I will never stay at anywhere but here! I had the most amazing time here!!!!!

It was my first time staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress this past trip to Orlando, and I was very impressed. The service was great and super friendly! Both the lobby and rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms are also very nice. Just keep in mind, like most hotel/ resort anywhere... there is an additional resort fee per night.

Located just a short drive from the major theme parks, the Grand Cypress also has numerous shuttles that take you to and from the Disney parks at designated times. If you're looking to stay away from all the hustle and bustle of all the parks, just stay on the property and enjoy the water sports like kayaking, paddle boating, and the pools... which is included in your resort fee. Your room and lobby also has free wifi. There are also many restaurants near by if you do not want to eat on the premises. My recent trip was very short, so I was not able to take advantage of all the perks available to hotel guests. The next time I come to Orlando, I would love to stay at this hotel again... and hopefully will have time to use the facilities!

Beautiful hotel & grounds. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights on a trip primarily to enjoy Disney.  We used the morning bus from the resort to Disney a couple of the mornings, the times never really worked for us to use the return bus (only a couple times offered each morning / evening), but we used a taxi a couple times and also did some walking and it work out fine for us.  We also spent one day at the resort pool & free chip-and-putt course which we really enjoyed.

Rather than stay at the Disney Grand Floridian (where my conference was based), I opted to stay at the Hyatt Grand Cypress to take advantage of my Hyatt status. It was a great decision. This is one of the best Hyatt properties I've visited. Yes, it's a large resort, but is tasteful and fun. I was sad that the family wasn't with me, because the kids would've loved all of the activities. There are bike rentals, a climbing wall, a splash area, paddle boats, golf, and great running trails. Best of all, there's a fantastic water slide into the heated pool. Plus, the grounds offer lots of opportunities to explore. This is definitely a family friendly resort. My room was very nice and offered north and west views. My last night, I was upgraded to a suite and had lots of room to spread out. A great shower too!

Stayed here with the wife and kids on a trip to Disney in Feb 2015.  Modern,  clean,  very friendly staff.  Lots of natural light,  free shuttle to and from Disney, free WiFi,  on-site parking for a fee,  Starbucks in the lobby.  The resort pool and activities is great for the family.  Very good experience. I would stay here again in a heart beat.  They are doing things right.

Gorgeous resort that definitely makes you feel like you're on vacation! So many reasons why I loved Grand Cypress:

    - Perfect landscaping and modern feel (loved the outdoor lounge area at night, great attention to detail)
    - Incredible sense of security while entering the premises with that long driveway
    - Close enough to drive out to the yummy eats of Orlando!
    - The shuttle system to the Disney Parks was easy peasy and on time
    - The view from my room was absolutely stunning as I could see Epcot and adorable hot air balloons floating around. Magical!
    - Spacious bathroom with really great lighting which held 2 people getting ready at the same time (2 very high maintenance people, might I add)
    - The staff was helpful & very sweet... champagne during check-in didn't hurt! :)

My only regret is not taking advantage of the hammock, private beach & kayaks! I stayed for an unexpectedly short amount of time and didn't really have a chance to venture around the resort. I am hoping to go back again one day!

We had a recent company function at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Orlando and it was great!
From the ease of working with them during planning and set-up to the meals that we had there, they made everything a breeze for us.  We are so glad that we had our event there.

I knew this was going to be a great experience the moment I checked in and was offered a glass of champagne... awesome!
The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable.  Plus the beautiful views from the hotel with all the greenery and palm trees provided a very relaxing atmosphere.

I didn't use the pool, but it was huge and looked like a great place for both adults and children.
The fitness center was updated and clean, one of the nicest hotel gyms I've ever used.

They nickel and dime you here which is something I despise. When booking they don't tell you about the daily valet fee or the resort fee per day. The resort fee covers some activities on the water but I came for one night with my mom to get away before having a baby in about a month. So those were useless to me and a waste of money.

They're going through construction and did try hard to hide it with large plants...

The staff was the best part for me. After checking in our room door wouldn't open so we waited in the hallway and the maids called someone and so did the front desk and they fixed the door.

We had a very nice dinner, one of the best parts as well and I enjoy the view from the room but its not very private with all those glass windows... And ridiculously small balconies.

The body wash makes a good bubble bath but as others said the water does not get hot. So it's not very enjoyable to wake up and take a luke warm shower. I'd also have to agree about the quality of the towels... For the price they should have better quality everything. I expected more quality and less fees.

I've stayed here 5 times over 15 years and it's steadily been declining. They used to be the standard and now they're just average. I won't be staying here again. Very disappointing. The language barriers are too much to handle, they're not accommodating at all and they offer insanely bad dining options now. Spending double for real service would definitely be a better option.

Resort was beautiful and clean, however, my biggest complaint with this resort was the poor customer service. Many of the staff we ran into were rude--one example being they gave us the wrong room (we had reserved 3 rooms) when we called down to the front desk to alert them that the last room needed a double bed, they demanded that we lug all our luggage back down to the front desk to collect the new room key. I had to tell them that it would be easier to have someone bring the key to us, and after being put on hold for 10 mins did they reluctantly say someone will bring the new room key up (what!?! We're staying at a resort for this type of  service!?) Similarly, service at breakfast was non-existent; waited to be seated bc hostess was off to the side socializing with wait staff, then I had to ask our server 4-5 times to refill coffee/orange juice for our party of 6 and to take plates away. If you are going to charge me 25 dollars per person plus 18% gratuity for breakfast, I expect our drinks to be filled and our table clean.  Valet was pretty terrible as well, it took longer for us to get our car from valet than for our guest to retrieve their car from self parking (which was on the other side of the hotel!). All in all, it's a beautiful resort, but quality customer service is one of the main things we look for in an establishment and from our last stay, service was sorely lacking on all fronts.

Really nice, breathtaking resort with incredible views. There is a big parrott in the lobby that just kind of chills there. If you are anywhere above the 10th floor you can see the Disney fireworks each night if you have a pool view. There are two pools a heated pool and a regular pool that has colder water. There are also two hot tubs and a nice watersilde. The hot tubs are kind of hidden, but if you stay a few nights you will learn where they are located. there is a huge cave that has waterfalls for the pools that is really nice and unlike any other pool I have been at. Unfortunately, I was here on business and the few nights I had free it rained non-stop, but I was still at the pool. There is a 24 hour fitness center. The pools and amenities are also open 24 hours. Make sure you take advantage of these pools, the hot tubs, the fitness center, the WIFI, and the other activities near the pool because like it or not you are going to be charged a resort fee each night you stay.

One thing is it is really expensive to stay here. I spent $600 for 3 nights and that was at a discounted rate. There are a few restaurants inside the resort that are nice, but also super expensive. I had an angus burger at the bistro cafe (near the front lobby) and that was good and I also had a chicken quesadilla at the poolside place for lunch which was also very good.

The room itself was very small. I stayed in a room with a King bed and a small sofa. There wasn't much walking room. The closet door was also the bathroom door which I did not like at all. he televison went blank a few times.

There are a ton of conference rooms on the main floor that accomodate several parties. I would say if you are in the area to try and stay here, however if you come primarily for Disney World, stay elsewhere because this place is so expensive and you will not be able to enjoy the amenities if you plan on being at the theme parks all day. Instead, stay on-site at a Disney Resort.

I was very impressed with this property. When you walk into the lobby, a massive wall of rooms and elvevators captures your attention. It's as big on the inside as you see from the street. The pool area looks amazing and fun. They have a cavern style design with waterfalls and I can definintely see myself totally relaxed in this setting. I will take advantage of my Florida Resident discount at some point in the future and stay for the weekend.

This is one nice resort that you forget you're in the middle of mouse land.

I stayed here while participating in a convention for work.

Every part of this hotel is newly renovated and the service is impeccable. My check in was easy and efficient and I was even greeted with a free glass of champagne-dont mind if I do!

The room is incredibly modern and comfortable. It's hard to find comfy beds, but these were great.

My only complaint is that the shower wasn't very hot. For the average person you won't notice but I like my showers scorching. If I had been schlepping it all over Disney, I'd be a little disheartened to come back to a warm shower. But this wouldn't keep me from staying here again.

Loved my stay at this hotel! I was here for the Fourth of July weekend and it was great! As soon as we got to this hotel we were greeted by the concierge. The checking in process was quick and we even got complimentary champagne. That being said, the staff was super friendly and helpful. As for the room, I stayed in the standard room where the balcony overlooked the garden entrance. Haha one thing I found to be pretty cool was the greeting message on the tv which said "welcome mr/mrs/miss YOUR NAME". Also, the hotel provides shuttles to a list of numerous theme parks. I took the shuttle to Magic Kingdom and it was incredibly easy and fast. Okay so here comes the best part of the hotel!! THE POOL AND THE LAKE are AMAZING! You have huge pools that have cave like features!! You have a rope bridge, water slide, hammocks, rock climbing, a full bar that also serves food, hot tubs, and even movie nights by the pool on Saturdays. The lake has paddle boats and sail boats available for you to use and it's included in your stay (the mandatory resort fee includes all the amenities, this being one!).

I just stayed here for four days for a business convention and totally loved it. The staff is beyond welcoming and helpful. They are also friendly and down to earth.

The sushi is probably in my top 5 experiences for sushi. We had the bagel and shrimp tempura. perfect. The Hemingway's restaurant was also beyond delicious.

The room was spacy, clean, and homey. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was very upbeat, friendly, and energetic. I really love the layout of the hotel, when you walk on there is waterfalls and trees planted.

Used the gym every day I was there and it was surprisingly nice for a hotel gym. Very clean. I love the treadmill with the mini TVs.

Great centrally located hotel right at the edge of the Disney properties. This hotel is often used for business conventions so expect a lot of foot traffic.

There are a handful of good dining options on-site so you don't even have to leave your hotel to eat.

A couple of downsides were the smoke detector (that continuously beeped on two separate nights and had to get someone to come up and change the batteries) and the shower (which didn't have enough pressure and wasn't hot enough and had a half glass door so the water sprayed everywhere on the floor).

The staff was very friendly and made the whole experience so enjoyable--I had interactions with the front desk staff, valet, room service, the technician who came up to fix my smoke detector, and the event planning staff.

The free wi-fi was much appreciated!

I have been to this hotel on and off since 1986 (it opened in 1985)
Was there last this past Spring. The staff couldn't do enough for you and will accommodate you. If they can, will bump you up onto a higher floor where the views are phenomenal. Twice have been on the 11th fl overlooking EPCOT on one side, where I can see the fireworks from the balcony. The pools, one heated and the other HUGE sprawling pool are great. They have a slide into the heated pool. The three outdoor hot tubs are also enjoyable. One in an open area and two covered under the cavernous area alongside the pool and outside the gym entrance.  They have a gym and game room. The restaurants are all good. My fave is Cascades. Beautiful views of the surrounding area and the inside of the room is always pleasant. Piano sometimes played at certain hours. Have enjoyed many meals at the Cascades. If there  for lunch, you'll want to try their SHRIMP PAD THAI..have had that the last four times when in the area. More than enough jumbo shrimp in a great mix. It's addictive as are other dishes and appetizers there. It's always also a great presentation. Hoping to get this photo uploaded.

This is one of the nicest hotels that I have ever had the pleasure of staying.  Southwest screwed up my flight, so I didn't arrive until midnight.  I didn't know where or what I could eat that late.  To my surprise, they had a 24 hour diner........Awesome!

The hotel is huge and the room was very nice and modern.  My room had a king bed, 42" plasma, plenty of room and my 2 favorites were the tv built into the bathroom mirror and the lights under the dresser and bathroom, which came handy at night.

The gym was amazing.  It had 3 separate rooms to accommodate every kind of person.  It's the best full size gym that I've ever seen.  I wish I had more time to take advantage of it.

I was disappointed in the breakfast buffet (inedible scrambled eggs and lackluster pastries and breads) and the room service dishes were awful (pad thai dish, chocolate cake, among other things).

I got really bad food poisoning (most likely from a dinner at Cascade's restaurant, but I had a few other meals at the hotel just prior to that).    That episode took 2 days out of my vacation (and I had to forfeit some park paid theme park tickets with my family).

The staff was exceptionally nice about handling the food poisoning complaint, but when I followed up with their claims handler, Wendy Whitted at GBSI, to get re-imbursed for the meal that caused the food poisoning, they basically ignored me. I pinged Wendy for updates, but there have been almost visible signs that they are interested in resolving this in the past 4 months.

Stayed here with a business conference in early February. Requested a hypoallergenic room, and was pleased to find they supply fragrance-free toiletries in those rooms. Unfortunately, they do not seem to use fragrance-free cleaning supplies, so the immediately-cleaned room smelled of perfume. I also suspect the air vents between rooms are connected, as I could hear sounds from a neighboring room and could smell their perfume. It would be nice to have a fragrance-free floor in a hotel like they used to have non-smoking floors (if you use perfume on those floors, then you are fined). But I digress.

The shower peaked water onto the outer wall and floor. You could see where it had been doing so for quite a while. There was mold in the shower, and I had to clean the shower head so the rain shower nipples would squirt water downward and not in all directions. I expect better cleanliness in the showers of nice hotels.

Room service was good. Toast was nice and hot. They were prompt. I would have liked more options for dessert, something non-chocolate and without nuts. Maybe a pie or a piece of cake or a sugar cookie or a sorbet?

Pool areas were great. Towels available for guests. Nice areas for kids and no-kids. Good to have options.

Unimpressed with on site dining as a whole. Need to update those facilities and their menu options.

My four day stay at the resort was delightful. Everyone was so kind and attentive. There are a myriad of activities to partake in while you are there. If you're looking for 24 hr activities, you can hit the gym or the spa. If you're looking for activities during the day, visit the pool, pitch and putt, bike rentals, rock climbing, boat rentals, and water slide.
With everything you can do here you shouldn't be holed up in your room watching tv or complaining about the wifi speed. Make sure to get a meal at the outdoor bar called "On the Rocks". It's a great place to get a bite, meet someone new, and watch the game.

I stayed here once.  The amenities are endless and you can spend a whole day at the hotel Lounging or find activities to fill your day.  The only negative is the high resort fee price plus parking fee!!! I believe it's just to overpriced but if you find a good price online stay here!!! It's very close to Disney right in the outskirt of Downtown Disney!

I stayed at the resort right at the end of the Labor day weekend and prior to my visit, I was aware the variety of resort activities that they offer onsite so I decided to spend some time to utilize the facilities during the last part of my holiday.   Lobby area were updating but it did not bother me much since I did not use the area much.  This is a gorgeous resort.  The rooms have been completely remodeled to the current standard.  Grand Hyatt Bed, Comfortable sofa in the standard king bedded room. Strong shower pressure with optional rain shower. Ceiling fan for those who wants stronger AC.  Rooms with pool view will have chance to see fireworks from Disney's Epcot and Magic Kingdom which is a huge plus.  Also the view of the pool were lovely too.

Regency club was very nice too.  The offerings were decent but the ladies worked there were super nice, one of the nicest club staff that I have encountered for a while.  It seems like the frequent guest all liked her too.

Resort grounds were stunning.  The pools open 24 hours which is great for those people who wants to enjoy the pool in the middle of the night and it is far enough from the hotel so it does not disturb people who wants to sleep. The pool have standard pool, grotto pool with water fall, and water slide and a heated pool.  Plenty area for the kids too. Separate gym and there are activities such as peddle boat, rock climbing, kayaking, tennis, beach valley ball, all included as part of the resort fee.   Very good places to spend some time while you are on site. There are golf course here too but did not utilize it.

I left my camera by accident on the day that I checked out and the staffs that I contacted with could not be any nicer (L&F Staff Tommy, Accounting Dept Shun) were all professional and helped me to send back my camera so all of the happy memories from my trip in Orlando are spared.  I will definitely recommend this hotel to others when traveling to Orlando.

Such a nice hotel and only a single exit away from Walt Disney World. This place was great, and the amenities were something else! Obviously I haven't stayed in a resort like this in a while but really, they were top notch. In addition to your room fee, there is a resort fee of $23, but in exchange you have your run of the place, it includes your internet (wireless throughout the resort), access to the pools, the gym (no indoor access, but it wasn't an issue), climbing walls for little ones, bike rentals, walking trails, boating on the lake... the list goes on.
When we arrived, they were doing some refurbishment in the reception, but it was all finished before we departed 5 days later and we were comped a couple of breakfasts as a result. The bedrooms were roomy and the three of us shared nicely, I would have liked a proper door to the bathroom though, not the sliding door that also doubled as the closet door, it became a hazard when someone was coming out of the bathroom as they had to check whether anyone had left the safe open or were getting clothes!

Best hotel that I have ever stayed in. As I checked in, recepionist gave glass of champagne and had a grip of chocolate truffles. Delicious!

The room was really nice. Great view of Disney world, love the outside activities: heated swimming pool and spa 24 hrs, huge gym, kayak, boating, bicycles, good food, etc. It was like an island resort.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay. I was pampered.

Downsize: the bathroom was alittle dirty.

My parents and I stayed with a reservation booked through Priceline. As can be expected, we had a little trouble at check-in. The situation: we arrived at 2am, the hotel was sold out, no more rooms were available. The solution: put us in a room with a pull out sofa until something else became available. Despite the lack of sleep, we were happy to receive a 9am phone call saying our new room was ready and waiting. After that, we had a smooth stay - enjoyed the pool, the lake, the bicycles, and bar service. Valet was prompt, courteous, and no issues during check-out. My parents agree that this will be their go-to hotel from now on when they visit Orlando. Quite a compliment from difficult-to-please Jersey residents.

Here is may shortened version. I will do an extended review of the fabulous place.   First off, every staff person I have encountered has be courteous extremely helpful and just all around friendly. For servers to housekeeping to check in f( which ana and Astrid were fantastic)  all are amazing and make one feel appreciated and special.   The hotel is updated and beautiful and the pools are exquisite.   I am a very hard rough critique and rarely completely satisfied but here I am.  If u need to stay in Orlando or near Disney or just need a great resort vacation stay that meets all your families needs, here is the place

We've rented a cabana for two days as well just to stay out of the sun and have a comfortable place to hang out by the pool.   Both managers and staff are at ones beck and call and there to do whatever you may ne

We are here for a convention and the room are beautiful. Clean large and safe.

This resort is a must stay

Just returned from long weekend at the Hyatt Grand Cypress.  Empty nesters, no kids.  We've been coming here for almost 30 years since it opened.  Believe it or not, it use to be a 5 star Mobil Travel guide hotel back in the day.  Alas, those days are gone!

If you can get a decent rate, we paid $176 per night, it's a steal!  We had a 5th floor pool view room which was very nice.  The pool area is beautiful, until all the kids show up.  Find a nice little secluded part of the area and read you book and listen to the piped in Jimmy Buffett music.  We ate at Hemmingway's one night and it was good.  Fred the bartender always remembers me, a real pro!

So, I give a solid 3 stars but don't pay too much - lots of other luxe resorts in MCO to choose from in 2015 including the new Four Seasons.

One think that bugs me about this place: we've probably stayed over 100 nights here over the years.  They never once have said welcome back.

TIP: If you're staying here and just doing the parks & LBV area, no need to rent a car - we used UBER 3-4 times going to other places.  Save the rental & the $17 per day parking fee.

I was there for a conference this past weekend.  They had renovation going on which put me off a little bit.  However, the hotel staff is so friendly and tried to accommodate every guest very professionally.  Only a few elevators were working so it was super crowded. I would recommend going here after the renovation. It's a lovely hotel/resort with multiple pools, fitness room, sauna etc.

I really liked the room and how nicely they had renovated that.  However the hallways had a bit of a smell or maybe it was from the renovation, not sure.  What frustrated me the most was the wifi connection, it was very spotty.  I discovered by the second night my wifi connection worked on the right side of the bed better than the left side.

Overall it's a gorgeous place to stay if you have a family because you can do so much in this facility.  However, for me I'm not sure I would be coming back unless there is another conference here.~

Right when I walked in i fell in LOVE with how beautiful this place is. The lobby feels like your in a modern trioical paradise.  The colors,  furniture and paintings are breathtaking.  The rooms are nice, clean and beds are comfortable. The food here is fresh and tastes homemade. I ordered the steak and eggs from room service every morning!  Best food I had in Orlando. There were people of all ages. I went with my boyfriend we have no kids. I didnt want a place with a ton of kids. They had alot of kid activities so they weren't running around all crazy. My favorite place was the POOL with those waterfalls! And the pool is open 24 hrs! Dont forget the lake with kayaking and other activities!  The front desk, Angel was very acomidating,  and valet were outstanding.

My wonderful man brought me here for a surprise birthday weekend. From the moment we checked in we were treated with exceptional service. Champagne was served to us as we preceded to our room. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the majestic waterfalls of the pool. After we finished our champagne we headed down to the pool restaurant for a light dish and a few more beverages. I highly recommend the rum runner!!!!! After a delightful meal we changed into our swim suits and partook in the comfort of the hot tub. The view was amazing.

Later another surprise took place. They have a spa on premises and he had booked us manicures. The girls in the Marilyn Monroe spa were delightful. My only disappointment was the beverage selection. We both got water and they served to to is in styrofoam cups. Not classy at all. However, the service was impeccable. I will visit the Marilyn Manroe spa in my area.

Finally dinner, but that's a different review. We will return here for sure!!

I was here with my family for our Orlando amusement park getaway.  We have always enjoyed the Hyatt in Maui, HI.  This property provided a similar experience, with lots to explore and do for my kids.

To start - the extra amenities definitely make this location worth the money!  It's super family oriented, and the staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating, they expect families.  The service at the pool was a little slow at first, but once you get served, they are very cordial, I got the feeling that they need to know you need service before they are overly attentive.

Food - I can't speak for the restaurants as we didn't really get a chance to actually eat at the onsite restaurants.  We did attempt breakfast one morning, but it was really crowded.  We did have lunch poolside and the food was really good.  They start their BBQ around noon and make tasty dogs and hamburgers.  I also had their club which was delicious.  They have a convenient little walk up breakfast spot for the mornings, which is located on the way to the parking lot, it serves the basics; coffee, bagels, banana's, and oatmeal - ideal for a quick bite on your way to the amusement parks in the early morning.

Amenities - AWESOME, very well kept, everything in good and working condition.  If you have a family, they will appreciate this aspect; rock walls, paddle boards, pitch-n-putt golf course, kids activity room, video games, lagoon, and bikes.

Rooms - nothing super special, but clean and nice enough (there were not suites available during our stay, so we were in a double with our kids).  The pullout couch worked fine for the kids, and the room still had plenty of room.

Parking - A bit out of the way - they really do charge you for everything here, but I guess that's expected.  Aside from the room rate, expect a resort fee @$25, and parking fee at $17.  But again, the property offers a lot to do, and the upkeep is quality.

Overall, a great family experience and I would go back.  POOL WAS AWESOME as was waterslide and rock walls and all the other cool amenities available.

This place had a true resort feel to it - lots to do for adults and kids of all ages!  As it relates to the parks, Disney is about 10 minutes away & Universal is about 20 minutes away.  Just off the property there are also other restaurant options.  The Hyatt experience added to our overall Orlando experience.

Excellent option right next to Disney World

My family and I stay at the Grand Cypress once every year to two. Superb off-park option for visits to Disney World. The place had been showing its age, but they've done some very nice updates. Only consistent drawback on my visits is the thin walls. You can hear a good amount from your neighbors's room(s).

    Nice features include:
    -The lobby and eating options (Hemingway's is especially tasty);
-Merlot the parrot is a hit with the kids
-Pool, grotto, and "beach" area are popular with the kids
-The New Course is an amazing ode to St Andrews and a fun round of golf
-Shuttle service directly to Disney is a fast trip
    -Updated bathrooms
    -Good infotainment system
-Port hub for plugging in and charging multiple devices
    -Excellent A/C
    -Nice check-in and cleaning crews
-President's House is a sweet place for entertainment and visiting
    -Very pretty grounds

    Some possible areas for improvement:
    -Shuttles can keep you waiting
-So-so wifi unless you pay to get upgraded speed packages
-Mediocre space for clothes and supplies
-Not a beautiful walk off-site and there are limited options near-by for non-Disney fun
-Could have used a laundry and shoe shine service, but didn't see them available.

All together, HRGC remains a top option for anyone looking for superior resort experience on their Disney trip, but who doesn't want Disney's high pricing.

Overall, I was really impressed with this hotel.  I was there for a conference and the hotel handled that quite well.

Check-in and check-out were super smooth and all staff that I encountered (front desk, concierge, cleaning crew and food servers) were extremely pleasant with a smile on their faces. They permitted a late check-out only up to 12:00, which was a little disappointing (I was hoping to check out at 12:45), but understandable.

During the conference, the hotel provided a delicious assortment of continental breakfast, lunch and snack items (including fresh popped popcorn during one break). And there was almost always fresh fruit available.  I ordered room service for breakfast one day and that came right on time.  My ordered was actually wrong, but it was so delicious and I didn't feel like waiting for it to be changed so I just ate it.  There was fresh baked bread and it was amazing.

The room looked exactly like the picture on the website, which was a real plus.

My one peeve with this hotel was the elevator situation.  They were extremely slow (one time I pressed the button and had to wait for at least 3 minutes for one of their 6 or 7 elevators to arrive) and it seemed that there was only one elevator bank going up to the rooms. Further, it wasn't exactly clear where the stairs led so we were limited in our ability to use them as an alternative.

Generally, I was pleased and was lucky enough to have a balcony overlooking Epcot and Magic Kingdom. I got a great view of the nightly fireworks.  I had a great time.
