Fabulous place !!
We stayed here for a week in a 2 bedroom villa. Beautiful decor and very comfortable living space.
2 issues : the pillows werent very comfy and the mesh door to the balcony was kinda broken for both bedrooms. But I still give the place 5 stars as it was a WONDERFUL stay !

This place was great for a nice, quiet escape from our loud, hectic normal lives.  As heirs to timeshare ownership (read: my inlaws own a few, and eventually they will be ours) we were offered this years' stay at this property.  We had a three-bedroom setup, which was actually a 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom adjoining suite.  The bedrooms were very comfortably set up with plenty of towels (with extra pool towels), soft sheets, and lots of pillows.  The 2-bedroom part had a nice, big kitchen and washer/dryer, so we were set for the week.  
They had a bunch of activities that looked like lots of fun, though we didn't make it to any of them.  They had a lot of stuff for kids, but a nice mix of stuff for all ages.
In addition to a nice pool (I think each building has its own) and jacuzzi, there is a big lake on property with paddle boats and other waterfront activities.  There is a convenience store/pizza hut/game room area in the main building.  You could theoretically stay on the property for your whole stay, if there wasn't that whole Disney/Sea World/Universal/everything else thing going on.

Awesome place. Very relaxing. We stayed inside of a 2 bedroom villa overlooking the lake across from the lobby. Everything was spacious, you never felt too cramped. Having a kitchen was also an added bonus. If it weren't for staying at the host hotel next year, I would happily choose this place as my living quarters for my next Orlando Vacation.

This is one of our favorite places to stay in Orlando.  We have stayed here over 12 times over the last 10 years and have always had a wonderful experience.  The staff is friendly, the villas are very large, the pool areas are beautiful, and there are many activities to do.   We just went to an event today at the recreation center where kids encountered gators, snakes, and other creatures with a guest from Gatorland.  Our room this week had new furniture, stainless steel appliances, and granite countertops.  We love it.

As an owner of four time shares, I have to say this one is the most run down and least organized. The villa we originally booked a year ago had a broken microwave and it took two staff members to look at it before telling us we would be getting another room. This was after waiting two hours for our rooms to be "ready" for our 12 noon check in. Ridiculous.   We were given a smaller suite that had an old door that jammed and locked us in. Took an hour for another  two staff members to fix it. The tv has the most irritating remote and they don't offer many channels. Sofas felt dirty and dusty. Showerhead was so big and water pressure so weak, my hair felt dirty the whole vacation.

Very disappointed in the quality of the facilities and lack of customer service. Next time I'll stick to Hawaii.

The timeshare pitch people! We had Gerry and he was very nice, to the point and wasn't pushy not one bit. He knew we were there to just listen and then get our free gift afterwards. And actually, because he was so upfront about not wasting our time with long presentation.. we enjoyed it more. We listened more. And if we didnt just buy a house, we would have bought a unit. So we saved his card and hopefully he is still there when we are ready for it...

This is hard because the Marriott really tried to make us happy and yet I am finding myself rating it 3 stars. (I almost rated it 2 but they get one for effort) Why?

Well... day 1, we arrive at midnight.  I check in, everyone was super nice.  We get our room.  The room was wonderfully located.  We open the door and immediately my bf says "Don't come in, Don't come in!!!!" (I seriously thought he saw a dead body or something!).  Come to find out he said that because there was a HUGE cockroach right at the entry way inside the room.  I have a tremendous fear of cockroaches and he knew this so he tried to keep it from me.  I handled it well though, called the front desk and the Marriott said they would take care of it immediately and they did.

A woman came with a can of raid and sprayed around. Now I understand this is Florida where cockroaches are equivalent to rabbits where I live, but that's beside the point.  I still don't want to sleep with them.

Day 2.  We didn't know it but they had ordered a real exterminator! He came in with the hard core stuff and started spraying. I was talking to him and telling him how FL was weird because we had our AC on 63 all night (and I am someone who is ALWAYS cold) and that it still felt the same as when we walked in.  He told us that the other rooms were much cooler and that we should call the front desk because it is not typical.  So I call.  They say they'll send someone immediately.  Someone came eventually but it kept us from going out and starting our day of our 6 day vacation so we got a really late start.  He said something was wrong with the AC and he fixed it.

Day 3 We found another cockroach in the kitchen.  I seriously had to wash everything before using it.

Day 4 I'm taking a shower and my eyes are shut and all of the sudden I hear a weird noise while lathering my hair.  I open my eyes and the shower had a hole in the tube and was squirting water at the roof.  Within seconds the stream became huge so I hurried up and rinsed my hair out and got out and called the desk (trust me I am NOT high maintenance and I was embarrassed to call again!)  They said they would send someone immediately, and they did.  Problem was the 2 people with me hadn't taken a shower yet.  The bathroom was SOAKED.  The maintenance guy came, said the hose was old and changed it, meanwhile he tracked his shoes through the puddle and the floor became filthy (not his fault I know).  So then we all wait for them to clean it so they can shower and nobody comes.  After 2 hours and another late start of our 6 hour trip my bf decides to sop up the water with the towels that we had and take a shower.  He took one and so did my son.  The maid didn't come until much later.  When the maid did come they failed to provide us with the things that we lost in the shower explosion, like new toilet paper because it was completely soaked and we didn't have anymore, also we didn't get enough towels.  I could have called again.

Day 5 another cockroach, flipped over dead.

Other than that I really don't know what to say.  We were rushing on this vacation to begin with, because there's so much to see in Orlando, and yet 2 out of the 6 days were started extremely late and when  you're dealing with Disney World park hopping tickets this was not cool.  Also, the place could have been cleaner.  The floors weren't very clean.    I want to like this place, because they tried hard, but I can't.  I LOVED our room.  The location was amazing!  Everyone that worked there was nice.  Once I was carrying a bag of trash and a worker rushed to me and took it (that's worth 3 stars instead of 2) but too much went wrong and I was fine with the fact that stuff happens until the shower incident.

Batman and I were in town for a show and chose this property because we are LOYAL Marriott customers (platinum to be exact) and because of it's proximity to the convention center. The property itself is beautiful and our building was extremely quiet. However, the accommodations truly "need to improve."

Our review could have easily yielded a couple of additional stars if only some fundamental attention had been given the room! First, and most disturbing, was the stained bottom sheet on the bed.  While it may of been laundered, a stained linen should never be put back into circulation. And here are some other suggestions when it comes to providing a clean and fully "operational" room -  1) check to see if the TV and remote works, 2) take a minute to dust off the patio chairs and table, 3) push the garbage can liners down (garbage shouldn't bounce off the liner because they are tied in so tight), and 4) bathroom floors should be spotless (sans fuzz).

Experiencing any one of these issues at a Marriott property is rare (even in the value lines like Courtyard). We experienced them all. I'm not sure if the responsibility lies with the front line housekeeping staff or with management, but Marriott needs to go back to basics at this location and insure rooms are congruent with the surroundings.

Great place.  We planned a family trip to Orlando while I was at a conference for work.  The conference was at Marriot World but we also booked a week at Marriot's Grand Vista.  My wife and kids couldn't stand Marriot World so we stayed at Marriot's Grand Vista for most of the week.   We rented a two bedroom villa which was awesome.  The villa was huge and included all of the conveniences of home including washer/dryer in the unit, stove, fridge, microwave, oven, dishdryer, etc.  The kitchen is fully furnished including plates, knives, utensils, mugs, cups, pots, pans, etc.  The villa had a separate dining room table, living room area and 1 3/4 bath plus sauna.  They also provided free internet.  

The complex itself has numerous activities.  Unfortunately, we purchased Disney World tickets for the entire trip so we didn't participate in the kids activities.  They also had a movie and a BBQ which we also didn't attend.  We did go to the kiddie pools and the kiddie maze.  This is one of the nicer pools and play areas that we've been to.  The kids spents hours at the pool and the maze.  We had to drag them away so that we could go to Disney World.

The complex itself is conveniently located.  Its about 5 to 7 miles from the four Disney World parks.  There is a Publix supermarket nearby along with CVS and Walgreens.  The Premium Outlet Mall and a few restaurants are near the Publix supermarket.  We are from California and the prices appears to be lower in Orlando.  The complex is also close to Universal Orlando(8 miles) and Sea World (3 miles).  There is no charge for parking and there is a guard at the entrance that let's you in and out of the complex.

We would definitly go again.

I love this resort! My family and I come here every, or every other summer, and always have a lot of fun. The pool areas are really nice, the Copa Loca Grill Bar is awesome and has amazing coconut shrimp and drinks. The banana/chocolate shake here is incredible. There's also a Pizza Hut and an ice cream parlor. They are always very kind here, and very accommodating (of course, it IS a Marriott resort). The spa is nice, I had a massage there last summer and it was very, very relaxing. The size of the suites are perfect, lots of room for my family and I. We always have a lot of fun when we come here, and sometimes we choose to just relax around the resort and take a day off from the hectic and wild theme parks. Also, its very close to a lot of attractions in Orlando.

One bedroom condo - full kitchen - dining table for 6.  A screened porch with a table for 4 over looking the golf course. A master suit that has a jacuzzi tub for two plus a separate bathroom with a shower.  And, best of all - daily maid service.  I was shocked to find out that even my dishes were done each day.  

Great complex with restaurants, golf course, lake with boat rentals - a kids club.  With more daily activities than a cruise ship.  With so much to do there's no need to leave their property.

We spent a week in mid-December at this resort and were very pleased.  This resort is gated, spacious, close to Sea World and outlet mall.  The first room that we were assigned to did not have a good view which was important to us because we were traveling with my mother who would be spending a lot of time sitting on the balcony.  After speaking with the manager we were reassigned to another 2 bedroom villa which was perfect, exactly as shown in the photos on their site, and which had a beautiful view of the golf course with a large screened in balcony with table and chairs for four.  I give the staff an A+ for being friendly and professional, the grounds were spotless and our rooms clean, up to date and comfortable.  The full kitchen was well stocked even down to the paper towels, dish soap and Arabica coffee.  The appliances included a full size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher.  All which were new, and included a stackable washer and dryer which was nice to have available.  We had only one issue with one of the showers having only luke warm water which maintenance immediately came to the rescue, diagnosed the problem and quickly repaired. He was very friendly and apologetic for any inconvenience.  Our package also included free WiFi which worked well, housekeeping, which was a plus and $30 a day towards meals or anything at the Market Place.  The Pizza was great at the on-site Pizza Hut as was the chicken salad wraps we had one day for lunch.  I can't say enough good about our experience at this Marriott.

We stayed here a couple of years ago in Jan for our anniversary. Love the property so much came back this week in May. My husband is in a conference for work and having to get up early. The staff put us, an older couple, kidless, on the second floor above the kid pool. There were kids up and down the hall for half the night and the walls are paper thin. Finally, when I stuck my head out the door and called the front desk around midnight the level came down to a mild roar. Next morning went to desk and asked to be moved and they refused. All the friendliness of a wait staff can't make up for a good night's sleep. Childless couples beware.

Here for business-again-(there are worse placed to have to go!) and stayed here for a week. Stayed in newly renovated room overlooking golf course driving range. Very quiet and relaxing at night.  Super rates in the off season. My fave place in Orlando for a trip with the family or for work. Very nice high end resort with great service and amenities. Very warm heated pool is a real treat in January.

This was one of the 3 hotels we stayed at while we were in Orlando. This place was the least of the 3.  It was clean, and the room was nice. We didn't have a villa we had a room. But it didn't stand out. It was like any other hotel room. The view was gorgeous and we could see all the way to Epcot. They have a honor bar, which aggravated me cause my kids wanted the M&M's sitting out there in the open.  They had a nice bar and store downstairs. Some great swimming and fantastic kids pool and a mickey mouse shaped pool and ONE slide.

This is what I didn't like.
The whole open up your wallet cause we are going to suck it clean with a a vacuum.  You have your choice for parking, $22 for valet or $13 to park it yourself.  Need a mini fridge, hand over some money, extra bed, more money, extra person, more money, late check out, more money (even if an hour). Wifi, sure that will cost you too or you can go to the lobby and huddle with everyone else who is trying to get it for free. That is the part I didn't like.

Besides that it is really like any other hotel, I have stayed at and well, nothing out of the ordinary.

Awesome resort!  Love the condos, building 83 is a great building.  It's close to the action but just far enough away to be peaceful.  The grounds are phenomenal, it's a great resort.  Only down side I can come up with is I wish there was a tad more storage in the kitchen.  Great property, you will love it!

Dear Mr Marriott,
I thought you had a 4 1/2 star rating. I must say I was impressed by your beautiful exterior, I felt like I was perfectly secluded from the chaos of travel.  
But things kinda changed when I settled down in my room.. First of all can you please tell me why there are stains on my top blanket? I'm not sure that's the "pattern" of the fabric. There kinda in the corner and are ummm white and crusty... I have an idea what it might be but.... Yaaaaa....
Anyways I have another question if this is a 4 star joint, why am I sharing the room with spiders and roaches? Let me repeat that ROACHES!!  Not one but 2! 2 Nasty gross huge creepy crawly pets that I didn't sign up for! And the spider popping out off my face towel was awesome.
And what is up with your funky smelling water? I thought I was supposed to feel clean and refreshed when I got out of the shower not sick from the strange smell coming out of the pipes. GROSS people!
Finally your housekeeping staff is something to be desired. If I wanted to wait 3 hrs for some damn towels I would have found a laundry mat to clean to the first set of towels and sheets myself.

Amazing, stayed in a three bedroom villa overlooking a golf course and lake. This place is massive and has EVERYTHING, not only are you steps away from all of the parks and amusements that Orlando has to offer, the resort has plenty of activities on-site, which are alot of fun, such as featured Karaoke nights on Fridays at their bar Copa Loca and chocolate making. They also have a Wii, fitness center, ping pong, pool and there is boating available around the lake which surrounds the grande vista's buildings.

I love it, and can't wait to return.

This is a Great place o stay if vacationing in Orlando. Clean/Spacious rooms. Everything is maintained very well!  My 2 sons were excited bout the different choices of swimming pools. When they were tired at the parks they begged to go back to the Resort to swim.

We are long time Marriott timeshare owners and stayed at the Grande Vista several years ago.  Evidently, nothing has been "refreshed" or changed since!  Our villa was very tired.  The sleeper sofa was a nightmare.  No one slept on it, thankfully, but it was so warped that even sitting on it was very uncomfortable.  It kind of formed a "U" with the ends being higher and the rest sagging toward the middle.  I also agree with another review about the shortage of cleaning staff.  Villa floors were kind of sticky and dirty.

Next issue was the kitchen.  It was poorly equipped and had zero pantry space.  Seriously-zero!  No room even for a bag of chips!  All groceries we bought had to be stored on the island or the dining table unless it went in the fridge.  Speaking of the refridgerator...the ice maker didn't work because it was not turned on.  No big deal.  We went to the market and got ice.  A couple of days later we noticed the floor was wet and it had leaked onto the carpet and now a three foot section of carpet was soaked.  We called maintenance and they immediately came and took care of the problem.  The water line was not connected.  Next day, floor wet and carpet soaked.  Maintenence comes and says line not connected and repaired the problem.  Third day-you guessed it!-floor wet and carpet soaked.  Maintenence comes again and this time we ask that the water be turned off to the fridge (cut off is right there behind it).  Obviously, there is a more serious issue than a loose water line.  The maintenence man first refuses to disconnect telling me he would have to shut off all our water.  When I point out to him that I know where the cut off is and it will only cut off the water to the ice maker, he gets angry, cuts it off and leaves, slamming the door behind him.  Nice, huh?

Now let me tell you about the really annoying problem.  As mentioned in another review, we were also immediately jumped on about attending an "educational" 90 minute session on the new point system.  We checked in and were told to go to the opposite counter to finish the check in.  This was not check in.  It was the counter to schedule an appointment.  I had already been called at least half a dozen times at home and made it very clear at this point that we were not interested in seeing or hearing anything about this during our vacation.  We would like to be contacted after we returned home.  Three different people called our villa five different occaisons interupting breakfast once, dinner once and waking our grandson from his nap once.  When no appointment was forthcoming, the cretins in charge of this operation decided to begin calling our guests!  After some very plain instructions we did not get another call.  It took three days and an angry phone call to get them to stop but they did finally stop.

As I said, we are long time Marriott owners and have never experienced this level of poor quality before.  We usually recommend Marriott to anyone interested in vacation time shares because of the consistent great quality and value.  I will now have to add an asterick to that statement.  BTW- had dinner with another owner before we left and they told us they had also been disappointed in the quality of the Grande Vista the last time they stayed there.  This time they were staying in a Sheraton time share on this trip.  Says a lot, right?

There are some positive things about this resort-childrens play area is great, gym is nice and the pool is really fun.  The staff that works with the kids appear to like what they are doing and have a good sense of humor.

We have planned on having a family vacation in Orlando for the next several years as our children and grandchildren enjoy the area so much.  We will definitely not stay with the Grande Vista on our next trip but will try another of the many Marriott timeshares in the area.

FYI-not Marriotts fault but absolutely no phone reception in villa!  We are all Verizon users and could get no reception except on our balcony.  We were told phone reception is pretty poor all over the area.

This place is really really nice. The room was amazing and the grounds are spectacular. The food and drinks were very good as well. We love it here.

The only negative we had was when we attended the sales presentation. We are VERY interested in becoming Marriott members and will be purchasing a time share program in the next two weeks. The sales representative was cold at first with us, then warmed and was very informative. When their efforts, to have us sign on the dotted line today, failed she became extremely cold.  I said we are %100 positive we going to purchase we just wanted to check finances when we got home. I also said that we wanted to go through her to purchase and asked her for her information and for a packet on the packages they offered. She told us to go online to find the information and then she didn't even give us a business card, she wrote her email on a piece of paper! Very unprofessional for someone trying to sell a package that's worth 16k-27k. We still want to purchase but definitely not through Aneta. If she would have been more gracious and helpful at the end we would have gone through her at some point. Poor way of building that sales pipeline.

Love the villa, the rooms are spacious and updated. Our unit is in building 87 and it does have a musty smell.  This resort is amazingly large-it is easy to get lost finding your building. I am attending a convention at the Orange County Convention center and I find this location to be just the right distance away .

This place was an awesome site to see when we first came here. I couldn't believe what we had and I did miss a lot of things that I wish we had time to do here. It seemed like our stay was just used to sleep and do laundry.

The resort itself did offer many things but the fact of the matter is that we only had 7 days to use it. It was hot for the time of the year that we went but I guess I can't complain too much.

Disneyworld was the location we were visiting and some of the days were unbearable to say the least. It was humid and hot. I wish I got to see the pools and the resort more. I wish I had 3 more days just to explore what we had for free.

The room was great. We had a two bedroom suite which shared a living room and kitchen which was very nice. We fit 5 people and a baby very comfortably. I think we could have fit two more if we needed to.

The kitchen really helped us out a lot with eating our breakfast. We didn't do much more than that though. The location was perfect though because it wasn't too far from the resorts and it was located near a lot of shops and store like outlets that were easy to get to. I would come back here again, but I want to make more time available just to see the resort.

We like it here, coming back for a 2nd time. We are not owners but enjoy it nonetheless. We had a 1 bedroom villa and it was perfect for us. Lots to do here and we like the short 9 hole Faldo practice course. All our needs were met and staff is friendly. We were missing a TV remote and an hour later we had a replacement and a call from the desk to make sure we had a replacement.
Only issue is the paper-thin walls and floors. There are a lot of kids and families here and if you have an unruly bunch nearby, or a group who doesn't understand they are sharing walls with others, prepare to hear every scream, yell and stomp.

If you are in town for business or a convention at the convention center stay away.  My company has been staying here for years for the PGA show and we continually have the same issues.

-The property is littered with areas that have little to no cell reception.
-The WiFi is extremely weak in many of the rooms
-The restaurant stops food service at 9 and the bar closes at 11.
-Check in is always a long wait because every check in comes with a detailed explanation about the property.
-Without fail every year several group member's billing gets messed up or keys get deactivated.  This year both myself and my suite mate's keys were deactivated even though both of us were scheduled for one more night.  They seem completely incapable of keeping billing or reservations straight.

This might be a lovely place to stay if you are bringing the kiddies to Orlando to visit the theme parks, but for business travel for grown ups it is less than desirable.  We are pushing our coordinator to change our lodging for next year.

We stayed June 6-13.  It was our second visit in 2 years.  Our family ranging in age from 5 to 103 had 5 two bedroom lock-off units near what the children call 'the action'. The units were fresh, clean and comfortable and while those large jetted tubs in some of the units date the buildings they are fun for little kids especially at bath time. The beds and other furniture are comfortable. Lighting is very good throughout. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped. The washer and dryer in the units make life easy. The staff is wonderful -- eager to please, knowledgeable, capable.  Daz Pepper, the manager on duty whenever anything arose, was the consummate professional. There was a particularly knotty problem at check in which required both authority and tact. Daz was masterful. We owe special thanks to Beyra and Kyle at the front desk who took care of every person in our large group. Emre, the bellman, drew thanks from my mother for his gentle kindness when he drove her to the Grille for lunch one day.  He was so solicitous. We were so grateful. The thoughtful man from Maintenance who repaired a problem with the ice maker in the refrigerator brought a bag of ice until the ice maker made sufficient quantity.  Housekeeping made sure we had sufficient bed and bath linen and trash bags at all times. On this trip we were not doing Disney and the other major attractions and so we spent more time at the resort and found that to be a very satisfactory plan indeed.  Between juicing, making smoothies with a Nutribullet and home cooked meals, we patronized the on-site eateries which aren't great but which give good service.  The bartenders at Grande Vista make great drinks. We had several spa services between us and were pleased. The grounds are lovely. The pools and the other areas are very clean. Lots of attention is paid to security. Parking is excellent. Porches and balconies are small but adequate and they are screened! The resort is well maintained -- It is large but not overwhelming. We will choose it whenever we are in Orlando.  It is ideal in many ways including its proximity to the airport and attractions. One drawback: WiFi and phone reception are poor at best. But when we are there we really don't care.

If it weren't for the responsiveness of management this would be a one-star review.

Upon arriving at the resort we were very pleased with our accommodations. Our room had been refurbished and everything looked virtually new. We had a giant suite with more than enough room for the four of us staying there. We could have easily accommodated a few more people on the two pull out couches. Everything seemed to be well maintained but then we realized that there was no hot water coming from one of the faucets. This was no problem since there was another sink in the room that worked perfectly fine. One thing I do wonder about is the water. It does smell...almost like bleach or chlorine so I'm not really sure of their water source. The smell was tolerable but weird.

The kitchen was small but functional.  It was very nice to have a full kitchen so that we could make our own breakfast and save money by not having to eat out every day. The kitchen had plenty of plates, glasses and cookware.  There was also a washer and dryer that we did not use but would definitely come in handy if you were staying here for an extended period of time.

Now, the real problem with our room was the bugs. Our room was seriously infested.  We came back from a long, long, LONG day at one of the Disney parks. I opened the dishwasher to get out a glass and the dishwasher was full of dozens of bugs. We were told they were palmetto bugs (aka roaches).  They sent out a maintenance person at 3 AM to spray which we appreciated. However it didn't do anything to help the situation. The next day there were still bugs to be found. Again, management was called and they sent out an actual extermination company to take care of it.  We came back that evening and there were still bugs. This time in the kitchen and the bathrooms.  This continued for the entire duration of our trip. Some roaches were even found in the fridge which went against the hypothesis that the bugs were trying to get in because it was cold out.  We spoke to the cleaning crew and they said that a bug problem like this is not typical for the property and that the unit may have been vacant for an extended period of time.  Management ultimately worked out a deal with us due to the large inconvenience of the bugs. Their responsiveness was appreciated but of course we all would have preferred a room that wasn't buggy. Hopefully they will take the time to actually bug bomb this unit before utilizing it again.

It is very likely that we will stay here again in the future but we will definitely request to be on a higher floor so that the bugs hopefully won't be a problem. I would also like to spend more time at the resort. There are lots of activities and things to do we just didn't have time.

We had a one week's stay at a 2 bedroom suite with a fully stocked kitchen, washer / drier, two balconies over looking a golf course and woods.  We were three but it could sleep six.  Building Ibiza 186 was newly refurbished so the carpet, furniture, linens, tv,  kitchen utensils, appliances - everything was very clean and nice.  

Unfortunately, like a previous reviewer noted, we did find roaches. We found one a day for four days. We're from FL, so we can tolerate killing them.  We didn't complain as we didn't want pesticide sprayed.  The three LG televisions in our unit were odd because they are very sensitive to the touch so they take a bit of time to get used to  when learning how to operate.  

Overall, a lovely location in a wonderful set up.  Although we found no time to partake, there was a schedule of free exercise classes - 1 - 4 per day.  There were mixology classes offered.  The lobby and the gym looked very nice.  We were telephoned to take the 90 minute time share lecture, but ignore it.  They offered $75 in Marriott dollars.  

Even with the bug issue, I'd stay again. Check in is at 4pm, Check out is at 10am.  I think another reviewer of this hotel got the name confused with another property because the review didn't fit this site.

Our favorite place in Orlando!!!!  So much fun.  Great location and the property is awesome.  The activities that are available on-site are good for the whole family.  We love the Smores by the firepit and the paddle boats.

I've stayed here for 3 years in a row. That really should say it all!  

The resort is very well appointed, staff are fast to react to your whatever you need and the pools are warm.  There are 4 pools in the complex.  2 are large and 2 are smaller only really to satisfy the outlaying buildings. Of the 2 bigger ones one has a very kid oriented theme with a splash pad and water cannons.  I should also mention that there are at least 2 infant style pools as well.

The resort is very centrally located and close to shopping.  There is a grocery store 2 miles down the road from the resort.  Go another mile and there is an outlet mall.  About 3 miles on the other side of I4 there is a Walmart supercenter. Even the Florida Mall is relatively close at around 7-8 miles away.  For restaurants you have a ton of them in a 4-5 mile radius.

The room we were in was a single bedroom with a separate lock-off unit.   Our party was 4 adults and 2 children. My wife and I stayed in the master bedroom and our kids slept on the pull out couch n the living room of the single unit.  My in-laws stayed in the single lock-off unit.  This is a very hospitable arrangement for a week stay.  In total there are 3 TV's, 2 DVD players and most of the amenities of home.

Reading some of the other reviews I see some people found bugs.  I can honestly say that in the 3 years I have stayed here I have never seen a single bug inside the units.  Luck maybe?

If I had one single complaint it would be the king bed was a little on the firm side. My mattress at home is a pillow top on the soft side.  

I'm writing this at the end of my 3rd full week stay and can honestly tell you I will be back next year for a fourth.

Spent a whole week at this hotel and I still didn't have enough time to explore and make use of all their amenities due to the fact that this is a resort within a theme parked filled city. We were always in and out ready for the next theme park planned day.

The hotel was HUGE: gated entrance with security guard station, various buildings with their own parking lots, a lake complete with boat rentals, rock climbing wall, fitness area, gaming areas, pools, market, restaurant and more.

Our one bedroom condo was very spacious, complete with a fully stocked kitchen in terms of dishwear/silverwear/dish washing machine, In-unit washing/drying machine, bar stools, dining table/chairs, living area with couch and flat screen, jacuzzi tub next to your bed, and another flat screen in the room.

Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. You can purchase theme park tickets at the hotel check in area. Same price as purchasing at the park, but no waiting in ticket booth lines at Disney parks. For some parks (universal studios), you will only receive a voucher and still have to wait in ticket booth lines to obtain an actual park ticket (just buy it at the park).

I love this Holiday Resort! We got really nice room on the 5th floor, with a view to quiet swimming pool. Our one bedroom apartment was very clean and nice, with sofa, full kitchen, fridge, stove, pans, kettles, microvawe, toaster and even smoothie blender! It had nice balcony with net (so the bugs don't come in).
I loved the idea that they have many activities every day - Yoga, Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, Walks, Golf, etc. Nice big gym, many activities for kids, many swimming pools, little shops and places to walk around. All pools, gym, little stores are open from 7 am - 11 pm.
It's really nice area too, so many restaurants and shops, malls are around. Everything is open late. First day we arrived late so it was difficult to find a grocery store that is still open, but then just 15 minutes away is Walmart. And next day we found Publics grocery store just 7 minutes away that closes at 11pm.
Everyone is super friendly and nice.
The only downside - water smells. First we didn't know what is that strong smell in the bathroom and sinks.. but then we realized it's water.
As someone else mentioned, on the 2nd day we also got early morning call from someone about the timeshares. Lady was very pushy and did not want to hear any "no". Usually we do not like pushy people and we try to get rid of them (just because they are annoying) but as they offered $75.00 (per couple) to spend in a resort or Disney.. oh well, we agreed... Only to find out later that other people are receiving 2 full Disney tickets :( That seems to be very unfair.
We decided to go to different Timeshares presentations were they offer $100 cash, juts coz it's some extra buck and would like to learn more about Timeshare deals.
Check-out time 10am on Saturdays usually (I think could be also Friday) - the streets at that time are really crazy crowded.

Beautiful resort. We have stayed here before but this year we had a newly remodeled unit. It was very nice.
The only drawback was we were not able to check in until 5:30 pm. It appears they are short on cleaning staff & room was not ready on time. Front Desk staff was not helpful & refused to ask what time room would be ready but said they would have someone call my cell when it was.

My folks spent 15K on one week a year at this timeshare. It is a two bedroom unit with one king and two queens. This first year we stayed there, they had the premium pillow top beds with high thread count sheets. Since then, they swapped out all of the mattresses with cheap motel six ones. My son found the couch more comfy than the bed. Very dissappointing. The annual fee is 1800, we would be better off renting a condo on the beach.

The resort itself was nice. I did not know with time shares that the maid service is every week not every day.  It was hard to keep the place clean with 3 kids. There was no cell phone service on the whole resort . I had friends and family that had Sprint , Verizon, and AT&T. No cell service or barely one bar.  I do not know if it is the resorts fault but it was aggravating.  The internet service worked fine. I had to leave the resort to make phone calls. Overall a nice resort but there are so many other choices in Orlando.

I just returned from here and I must say I was surprisingly disappointed.. 2 bdrm villa

1)...when I arrived the first room I was in. was nice but a little out dated. I found the drawers to one of the dressers broken and not working at all . they were sticking all the way out so it could not have been an oversite they were sticking out about 16 inches and blocked pathway around the bed. I immediately called housekeeping/maint. and waited....about 45 min later I called again and was told by the person on the phone that someone responded and fixed it 15-20 mins ago, and I informed them how that was impossible since we never left the villa and no one came.
2)...my young daughter was playing on the floor and came to with with a piece of metal saying she found it on the floor . i investigated and found more on the floor...so I became concerned the place was cleaned ( vaccumed ).
3)...when my wife went to take a shower she found moldy shower curtain. not just a little mold it was horribly covered. I call the maint. department for cleaner they said they don't do that.  (the spray cleaner that they left in the villa was not working and they would not replace it.)needless to say the shower was not cleaned.

my daughter has asthma and could not be exposed to mold..

so my wife took a shower in the 2nd bathroom.
when she was done she tried to use the hairdryer which was broken and maint would not replace.

the maint staff and housekeeping BARELY SPEAK ENGLISH I will give an example further down.

4) ...enough was enough and I demanded a different room in which they were not too willing to do. at first. I have to wait 5 hrs for another room ...

now I had to pack all my all my things and moved them( I had already gone food shopping for the week ) for 4 adults and 3 kids so you can imagine the inconvenience.

now we settled into the new room.

while eating dinner on the fourth night we were there my young son vomited on the rug. I cleaned it up as best as I could and called housekeeping and asked them to bring up some cleaner and deodorizer FOR ME to use to clean it up, after all my son threw up its only fair I clean it I have no problem with that. so what does housekeeping do the bring me up a floor fan , NO CLEANER OR DEODORIZER. I ask the worker for cleaner and deodorizer and I get a blank stare and no response. then he speaks in Haitian/French and I realize he speaks no English. I clean it as best as I can with NO CLEANER OR DEODORIZER. turn on fan and it does nothing but circulates vomit odor throughout the2 bdrm villa.  so in the morning I called housekeeping again and ask for someone to bring up some cleaner and deodorizer to clean up spot. they show up 2 hrs later with a note( because the now second person to respond that does not speak a word of English) that states protein spill . we try to explain it to the worker to no avail because of the language barrier. 2 more workers come up and say what do you want us to do I now try to explain what I want for the 5th time to more workers that do not speak English. I now call for manager and wait another hour for them to show up and now explain the the rug need to be cleaned because now the vomit has settled into the rug for about 18 hrs. they are very apologetic and state someone will be here within the hour to steam the spot on the rug.   2 hours later they finally show up to clean rug.

but wait there is more.......

after all the stress that day I decide to take a whirlpool ......WHICH DOESN'T WORK.




the only thing that saved the week from being ruined was that I was staying with great people . my family.

The first Marriott Customer Care agent (Sara) was extremely helpful.  The next agent (Joshua) gave me the canned "corporate" response, stating that "we are sorry...." but pushed all the bad things back on to the customer.   Oh well I wouldn't expect any thing other then a big corp response.  I thought after working with Sara I would consider staying at a Marriott and even purchase their Vacation Club ownership but now, Sorry but they don't deserve my money.

Fantastic property with great amenities. Not having ice machines near the units is a bit aggravating if your staying in a studio (without a freezer to make your own) like I was. Otherwise, the service was extremely helpful about things both on and off the property, room was very clean and comfortable, and the location is great.

Cant wait to be back! The Resort is not what it used to, however there are some rooms that have been remodeled for good. Most of the Studios have a horrible mold odor this has not been the case when we stay on 2 or 3 bedrooms at this property. The higher the better make sure that when you check in you ask for floor 3 or 4. Enjoy ur stay!

Grand Vista is great and very self contained. Since we weren't in Orlando to visit the theme parks it was a prefect place for us.

The resort has so much to offer great restaurants, Spa treatments, Pizza hut, multiple pools, a 9-hole golf course, organized activities every day, Pizza Hut, marketplace, ice cream store, great for walking.

The check-in staff was great and it went very quickly.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law, who are from England especially enjoyed taking long strolls daily around the resort and the easy availability of various food options was great. They are older and my brother-in-law is partially blind, but they felt so good being able to be independent.

We had 2-three bedroom villas. This was our second time visit to this resort and we'll definitely return.

Hate to give them only 3 stars but I was really not happy with our room this year. This is our third year coming and this was the "worst" room of the three. Firstly, they were nice enough to accommodate me by placing us close to the main pool (because of our three kids) but the noise from both the pool and volleyball court were unbearable...and at 11pm?? Our first night I had to call and complain because they were still playing volleyball at midnight and the kids couldn't fall asleep. Wish I had known how noisy it was going to be or I would have not asked/agreed to that room. The room was also quite dated and showed a lot of wear and tear. Paint wear, drawers badly scuffed- shower stall dirty, etc. Some of the butcher block knives were put in their place dirty and we found a sewing needle in the chaise lounge (thankfully before anyone lay there). The dishwasher also stopped working and that had to be fixed too. Meh. That being said, it is a beautiful property and everyone is always friendly- just didn't like the hassle of the little things we had to deal with while on vacation. That being said, we'll be back.

just wanted to add on the the friendliness and downright spectacular customer service here.

My gf decided she didnt want to double check she had her Kindle before we left the resort for the airport, so when she realized hours later needless to say she was not happy.  a quick call to the front desk in which we were placed on hold while they checked with the pool bar where the Kindle was left and the staff had located the Kindle.  They dropped it into priority mail on their expense and it arrived at our home a few days later.

now that is superior customer service you can expect from a Marriott

Wow what a disappointment.  My father is a time share owner and he gave us his week to use. I have been to other Marriott resort but never been so disappointed like Grande Vista. ...The staff really needs a crash course training on customer service.My first problem was I called the front desk and to ask if any restaurant inside the hotel would deliver to the room the staff only said pizza hut would be the only one. OK I then called a restaurant inside the hotel to order some food and the lady asked me if I wanted it deliver to the room....Wait a minute the front desk just told me pizza hut is the only one that does delivery to the room....I guess the front desk agent doesn't know how the resort works......OK then on my last night I asked for a late checkout they told me to call in the morning, we'll I did and once again Marriott grande vista staff fail miserable the customer service part.This is the response I got "No we can't do late check out because we are almost at full capacity there for we don't do late checkout".....I mean they didn't even try to accommodate my request I was just looking for an extra hour. ..Oh by the way is October which is LOW SEASON but their full. OK. Well I thought that Marriott was supposed to be the best of the best,  Well I guess they showed me they are the best at being the worst at customer service. ..By the way I'm so disappointed in Marriott Grande Vista that I'm writing this review while packing our stuff to leave the place. ....I'm so disappointed that I couldn't wait to leave the place to write the review. ...Marriot my advice to you is RETRAIN your staff on customer service. ...Because as of now Holiday Inn vacation club has treat us way better than you did. ....

So this was our 7th stay in 4 years here. Up until this visit I had given it 5 stars. We LOVED it, until this time. We had a great room location, that is the only good thing we can say about this stay. In past visits, we got a phone call each night telling us what the activities and weather would be for the next day. Not this time. The ONLY message we got the entire visit was to ask us to come and get our complementary 5 x 7 picture. Usually we are made aware of special events, spa specials and fun activities. This time nothing. We stayed in a studio this time as opposed to a 1 bedroom. It shouldn't have mattered if we stayed in the Presidential Suite or a studio, we were paying guests and we not afforded all the info that we should have been.

We stayed in building 81, although right next to the main building its a little worn down and could use some new furniture and decorations. There is an ice bucket in the room but get this....no ice machine in the entire building. WHAT???? Um okay....also there were no public washer and dryers in the building, or in that area of the resort for that matter. You had to go to the other side of the resort to either building by the Copa Loca bar and grille. How do you have 2 on that side of the resort and another down by building 92 but NOTHING in or near the mail building for the entire resort????

And then there were dumb and dumber at the Grande Cove Bar...this would be the two bartenders Amanda and Diane. Amanda was more concerned in caking on a Tammy Faye layer of make-up than having good customer service. I am a larger woman and Amanda though it was appropriate to tell me that "calories don't count on vacation" Who says that? I was told by an anonymous person who works at the GV on their Facebook page, that it was a standard question, asked of all guests. I know for a fact its not. I have been going there for years now and NOBODY has ever been that tactless. Then there was Diane who was talking in front of guests about blackmailing other co-workers. Are you serious? This is appropriate work etiquette?

Sufficed to say that is my last visit to this resort which is so sad, because we spent our honeymoon there in 2012, Christmas 2009.....special occasions. Now its time to try someplace that will value my feelings and business......

I'm so tired of their customer service.  There's construction going on in the room above me but they didn't inform me till half hour after it started !! I planned my whole week with Saturday being my day off to pack and clean. If I knew about the construction, I would've made Friday my day off and went to the park on Saturday during the main construction! Also I have been  here two weeks in the same room and they did not clean my room in between each week. They didn't change the sheets at all in two weeks and I had to call and request sheets for me to change because they wouldn't do it for me! The first week I stayed, I was staying as a regular renter and the second week I was staying as an owner, The first week they came and cleaned every day. Once again they never change the sheets or towels they just made the bed and took the garbage and that was it. On the first day of the week of me being an owner, they cleaned the same way before but this time they took the sponge, kitchen towels and didn't replace anything. They left us with 4 packs of dish washer soap, and one roll of paper towels . When I called to ask for these replacements they were very upset and told me originally to go out and buy some. I had to remind him that if I was staying in this room as a new guest, I would have all the things in my room already in stock. They eventually did send someone out to replace those things . The lesson is don't stay for two weeks in the same room ! This way you can start your room  fresh each week! Also they keep coming to the room intrusion in this hotel is ridiculous! They come if for frivolous  reasons, such as checking all the equipment in the room to make sure it is in working order. Why can't they do this before the guests check-in. instead of mid-week. They also came in to check for a leak in the room because they had a puddle of water in the hallway nowhere near my room.

This is the second time we have stayed here and our son and his wife have stayed here as well.  We love this place.  The studio is basically a slightly expanded hotel room but very comfortable with fridge and microwave (but no dishwasher or washer and dryer.)  Perfect for a week in this wonderful and entertaining city.  Excess access and lots of great restaurants nearby on I-Drive.  Nice pools.   We will be back here again next summer!

Spent a week in this resort. Worth every penny. All pools are wonderful and relaxing. Amenities are great. Partner used gym and was better than average for hotel. Plenty of machines. Rooms are large and clean. Bed is super comfy. Having a balcony is great. Had drinks and food by pool and all were tasty and well made. Absolutely recommend. Will be back again and again.

I give it 5 stars because the employees were great and super helpful!  I requested for a quiet area and a king bed and everything was accommodated.  

We were checked in seamlessly and quickly!  I love the area. It was 20 minute drive to Walt Disney World which was great.  They had a lovely restaurant on site and had so many other things to do so you're never bored.

I had a massage treatment at their spa and it was great.  We ordered pizza from the pizza hut on property and their service was wonderful.  My son had so much fun here and we definitely will return!

We stayed in 2 bedroom villa with four adults and four kids.  We had a great room, with plenty of space.  Rooms were clean, spacious and functional.

Had a beeping sound that we couldn't identify and a maintenance worker came to our room within 10 minutes of it being reported.  He fixed the issue quickly and professionally.

Four pools to choose from with bars at the two pools I visited. Drinks were good and the atmosphere was great.

We were at Disney (15 minute drive to Disney from hotel) during most of the seven day visit so we only at lunch once at the cove.  Food was fine for lunch and the kids enjoyed the pizza.  

Enjoyed the experience and would return to the Grande Vista.

What happened to this Marriott's Grande Vista!? The first time I came here was 5 years ago, it was a very pleasant experience. 2 bedroom suites, friendly staff, and clean rooms.

Not this time, molds on the door, (see picture) maitenance crew cutting the grass 6:30 in the morning!? (see picture) If you want to put the Marriott sign on the entrance, customers will be expecting a high standards, not Motel 6 quality.

I come down here every year with the family. We always get one of the villas which comes with a kitchen, living room, porch and 2 bedrooms. The kitchen is great so you have a place to store left overs and also you do not have to eat out every meal.

It also has 3 pools and 2 outdoor bars along with multiple different eating options. The grounds are nice and well maintained and the Faldo Golf Institute is right there so my dad and I play a round every year. It is standard resort prices (i.e. slightly expensive) in respect to food and drinks purchased on the grounds. The only major drawback is one bar closes at 11pm and the other 10pm but there are multiple liquor stores in the area if you want to enjoy some beverages later into the night (this idea requires prior planning).

I enjoy my time here. It is very relaxing and is close to all major attractions. Just an FYI if you plan on staying here you must rent a car.

This resort was way more than I even expected! Not only is the price shockingly reasonable for the rooms they have available, but damn do I feel like I got a steal! There are pools I believe at every building and the main pool in the center of the resort. They stay open until 11 which becomes a lot less crowded which allows that personal private and romantic setting for you and your significant other.

The rooms are amazingly spacious and are sooo comforting! The beds have pillows that you literally sink right into. We stayed in the studio villa which had a king size bed, balcony, sofa which looked like it could've been a pull out bed too... I didn't need anything bigger if I wanted to stay for weeks at a time.
They also have a really good selection of places to dine and things to do on site which includes scuba lessons and satisfaction for any kind of cravings you may have; even a sweets store! I will be coming back for future occasions... ;)

One of the nicest Hotels I have stayed at and I have stayed at many. The grounds and pools are simply beautiful, its around a lake and the entire setting is very peaceful. There is plenty of amenities, and the hot tubs are awesome!! I will definitely be back no question about that. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is that the walls between rooms are paper thin, we could here the phone ring next door and very clear conversations. Room was immaculate though and really nice balconies to sit. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful!! Great place......

If you own a Marriott vacation club time share beware that if the hotel is not booked by timeshare holders the rooms are released to the general public. You def don't want to use your expensive timeshare points to stay at a property that allows a lower caliber clientele. If the room rate is $150 & below per night you are not getting  great customers at the grande vista.

Place is not worth it at all.   Bad cell service, I mean horrible.  Bad wifi, beyond horrible.   Horrible housekeeping.   They will walk in on you without knocking.   Horrible treatment of guests.   You can be a timeshare owner or a platinum guest and they treat you like crap.  I had to wait an hour for a room to be cleaned at 4 pm?  How's that possible!  

Avoid this place as its garbage and way

Sorry to say, but this resort is not being kept up.  The location is great and the grounds are beautiful, but our unit is in need of a facelift.

The kitchen cabinets are a disgrace!  The safety lock on the front door is broken.
The couch has seen better days.

I thought they updated every five years.  This unit  missed the update!

We accepted a deal to come see Marriott's timeshare sales pitch in exchange for four nights in Orlando at this place. I expected resort accommodations but we got a studio efficiency with a small microwave and mini fridge. There was daily maid service, reminding me all the more of being in a hotel rather than a luxury resort. If Marriott was putting its best foot forward to get me to invest, they didn't impress.

The grounds are elaborate but geared to the one percenters they apparently target here. It's all about golf here, with a nod to the kids with pedal-boats on the lake. Dinners run about $28 on the menu at The Grill.

If you plan to spend your time at Disney, Universal and Sea World, a studio at this place is overkill. If you want a luxury experience, a studio here doesn't cut it.

And if you're looking for cheap accommodations, check Kayak. Don't lose half a day being pestered to buy tens of thousands of dollars in real property with exorbitant annual maintenance costs.

Friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel/resort. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Property is beautiful, well kept and all the activities were amazing and fun for all. Very kid friendly. Ate some really good food at the grill and mojitos were very refreshing by the pool. Coming back here for sure.

Just had our 5th stay at the Grande Vista. We usually stay in the 2-3 bedroom villa, but this time to save money stayed in the 1 bedroom villa and to my surprise it was just as wonderful.

The room renovations are great and when we arrived from our early morning flight, the front desk was very good at getting a very sleepy family a room ASAP.

We have stayed at many many Hotels in the area as we take a DisneyWorld vacation trip about 3 times a year and this hotel is by far the best. We have payed huge prices to stay at other hotels and non compare to this one. After going to the Nickolodean hotel, I thought I was done with Orlando hotels because it was do awful....but thankfully we found this gem.

My only complaint is the constant calls for the time share meetings, almost daily if you don't shut them down when you check in and we've even had them call us a few months later. They promise big things such as upgrades or tickets and when we arrived all they said was I can give you $100 off a ticket purchase. Something that is definitely not worth wasting a day listening to their timeshare speech.

All in all the rooms are great, my kids absolutely love the pools and the staff is very friendly.

Love the accommodations and its location, near Sea World. The staff were super friendly, and helped us a lot on the deciding where to dine and places to visit. (Thanks to Nancy, front desk). Also we had problem the whirlpool, we did not know it was flooding the apartment below. They came to check and in timely manner fixed the problem. The check in and out process was super fast. The facilities were amazing.You can also purchase disney and universal ticket through the concierge staff. So you can have them quickly. We have a view to the lake awesome, which we request earlier and had a fifth floor apartment. The rooms were super cleaned and the kitchen utensils neat. The washer and dryer were working great. Overall love everything. We did not participate of all the activities, since we had a scheduled prepared, but they had several daily activities programmed for all ages and also they maintained the guest informed of all of them through the ads inside the elevator, also phone call messages.  Will stay again on next visit, there is nothing to look for in another place. It has all what we needed

This place is wonderful! Its newer, upbeat with many activities for when your on resort property, clean and yet still peaceful!  FREE BILLIARDS!! Beautiful pool,2 bars, 3 dining options,gym, spa and lce cream shop (yum)t. It didn't recieve 5 stars because of the god awful WIFI! It's been that way ever since i started coming.  PLEASE FIX IT IF POSSIBLE....it NEVER works for me and is crappy for others too so i know i am not crazy ;). Otherwise I can't wait to go back next year!!

If you have kids ages 5 to 18, this is probably the best place in all of Orlando for you and them. The places has five six large, heated, clean pools, a lake with boats, dances and other activities for teens and young kids as well.

If you don't have kids you might want to stay someplace else.

The staff is crackerjack sharp, the ground are flawless. The villas are very large, well-stocked and pleasantly appointed as long as you don't look at the horrid paintings on the walls (Marriot; there are a lot of well deserving local artists in Florida, hire them to replace the awful art on the walls and become a corporate hero)  

There is a great deal of prole drift into this place so prepare yourself for the loud, tattoo wearing, baseball-cap-on-backwards crowd.  Although the property is smoke free, smokers could care less and smoke anyway and there seems to be little enforcement of the regulations.

We came here through an interval timeshare exchange for a convention. At first, we were expecting a "hotel" feel. Once we saw the property, we realized that it has more of a condo feeling as the rooms are not attached to the lobby and restaurants.

The property itself is maintained by a great friendly staff. There are plenty of group fitness classes, kids activities and the work out room is probably one of the nicest I have seen at any hotel. The restaurants all had decent food. I probably would skip the country club restaurant given the opportunity because the menu didn't have a ton of variety.

The room was nicely decorated and everything looked brand new. We had a small kitchen area which was nice for keeping waters cooled.

My only complaint??? It rained. It rained HARD for a few days of our trip.  Because the hotel lobby isn't connected to the rooms, it means you get drenched walking to your car in the parking lot and into the workout/spa area. I am accustomed to using valet service where you don't get drenched walking to your car. I also had to walk to my spa appointment in the pouring down rain. I recommend bringing an umbrella to your hotel.

I plan on staying here again for my Universal Studio trip in Feb.

We had a nice stay in May 2013 at Grande Vista. We used our bonus destination club points (when we converted our vacation club ownership at Ko'Olina to the destination club program). We enjoy coming to Orlando, so decided to try this property out.

It is a palatial property, which is not as familiar to us as we were accustomed to Hawaii vacation clubs. The villa itself was comfortable and appropriately equipped. We enjoyed the option of cooking for ourselves and made the most of that when we could. The year prior we stayed at the JW Grande Lakes and liked how luxurious that was, so we weren't sure if we'd be as comfortable here. Now that we stayed, we don't regret it. Having the more home-like accommodations with the full kitchen made up for any loss in extravagance.

We didn't use the pool as our villa was further away. We actually liked our room location as it was more private and quiet.

Peaceful & fun all at once. A great place for families but also to come & just relax and recharge. Multiple pools quiet and kid-filled. Snack  bar, marketplace 2 pool bars and a candy/ice cream shop. Paddle boats, walking paths, a 9-hole golf course and of course a spa!  Been here 3 times and I'll be back. Love Magellan Bldg!

We stayed for a week in early Nov 2013, so it was off-season, pretty quiet, and uneventful.
We had a 2-bedroom condo: Enough room for two families, nicely decorated and maintained. There was an ant problem in the kitchen, but the housekeeping/maintenance staff took care of it quickly.  
We spent most of our time at the Disney parks with the kiddos, but we walked around and ate a few meals at the resort. We tried to take the tots to the indoor play area once, but it ended up being closed due to a potty-accident (they needed to clean/sanitize).
We'll likely stay there again, so I'll be sure to post again. ;-)

Just stayed here the past two nights in a 2 bedroom villa with my best friend, her 2 kids, my husband and 5 month old daughter. I had seriously the greatest weekend in a VERY long time thanks to this resort. When I walked into the villa for the first time Friday evening I was completely impressed by the large kitchen, living room And dining area. Also I absolutely loved the decor. It felt homier than my actual home.

Each room was so big and i had plenty of room to set up my daughters pack and play crib and it not be in the way at all. She wakes up 1-2 times a night to be fed and can get pretty loud, and my best friend said she couldn't hear anything from her room, and I loved that! I didn't hear any noises from other guests around us. The sliding glass doors were thick enough to where I could even hear the guests in the pool at 8am even though I had a room over them.

We took advantage of the complimentary popcorn and wine tasting in the lobby. Our kids played at the awesome maze kids center they have. They had a jelly bean tasting and tie dye shirts activities. The staff was all extremely friendly and I must have been told "thank you" and "how are you doing?" "Enjoy your stay" and "good morning, good evening" about 50 times within just those 2 nights.

We had a time where we left our keys by the pool bar and were pretty frantic in the room when we couldn't find them. Called lost and found, described them, and sure enough they were found and brought right up to our villa within 10 minutes! Seriously wonderful service an saved us a huge hassle of having to call a pop a lock service.

We are a family that doesn't get to go on vacation a lot, and can't afford timeshares. So we were very happy with our 2 days there and hope to go back in the future. We felt like we could stay forever and dreaded having to return home after such a fun 2 days.

I read a bunch of the other reviews and I feel like the negative ones are written by spoiled rich snobs that expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. One in which saying "they own 4 timeshares". Must be nice. You should really be happy that you are able to spend a week somewhere so beautiful and fun. We only had 2 days and I am so grateful. If you go through the negative ones you will find how ridiculous the things they're complaining about are "I was called fat at the pool bar".. "The bartender had too much makeup on"... "My child threw up and no one brought me cleaner"... Also you noticed they are so high maintenance they write how they call customer service about 50 times in a one week stay. Seriously get over yourselves. Be grateful you are even there spending your money and being waited on by the staff.

My one and only complaint was the housekeeping staff of the morning of our checkout.. An hour before our checkout.. Lingering outside our door waiting for us to leave and watching what we had with us speaking to each other about what they hoped we left behind for them to take. Thought that was a little unprofessional. Sitting outside our door on their phones talking loudly and knocked on out door at 9:30 (30min before check out) asking if we were done.. While we were still in the room packing our kids up.

Otherwise it was a great trip and I'm glad we got to experience it! Hopefully will be able to come back!!

Lovely property but horrendous check in and room assignment.  I stayed at the beginning of March, reserved a one bedroom and was told I was put into a newly refurbished unit--however, I was checked into an occupied King Bed Guest Room--not even a one bedroom Villa.  After returning to the front desk, I was told that I would be given a one bedroom villa for my inconvenience (???  this is what I reserved and paid for!!).  The room would not be ready until 6 pm, well beyond check in time.  After checking into this room, it was in a building that I was told was remodeled in 2010 with a sinking sofa and cracked flooring.  Again, not impressed.  After being contacted by a manager, I was told that on my next trip I would most definitely be upgraded and given a room in a newly remodeled unit.  I arrived this week to check in and was told that they would not offer me an upgrade, if I didn't like the room they had for me that I could leave and stay somewhere else.  I gladly stayed at another property.  I'm done with this property.  They could really care less if you stay there or not....and don't care at all if they inconvenience you by checking you into an occupied room and make you wait hours for a ready room!

Check in was fast and easy, front desk was helpful and even understood that our flight was delayed that's why we couldn't make it for the first night. They accommodated us to stay our four nights without any extra charge.

Our villa was a one bedroom, enough space for 2 people but not enough for 4. The room was clean. The kitchen area was stocked with 4 sets of cups, spoons, plates etc.

Wifi however was Terrible. Did not get service in my room at all.

Staff was friendly from the start, whenever they saw me walking from the main building to my villa they offered me a ride on the golf carts. Housekeeping was lacking on the four days we stayed.

The activities offered are great. We did a blind fold chocolate testing and it was so much fun! We also got tie dyed t shirts!

There are pools, hot tubs, ice cream parlor, Starbucks (they really dont have much here though) pizza, gym, golf course, and other things we were able to enjoy.

I would definitely love to stay at this hotel once again. It was worth it, I guess I'll just have to use wifi out of the room though.

We just finished our second visit to this fabulous resort.  I do not believe I will ever stay at another resort when visiting the Orlando area. Upon arriving at the resort I was once again impressed with the beauty of the grounds.  Check in was a breeze.  Our room was spotless.  This visit was our honeymoon.  We mentioned this information to the front desk and by the second day of our stay most of the staff knew who we were and that we were honeymooning there.  Every single staff member there made us feel welcome and like they were celebrating with us.

This being our second visit in a little over a year we were very impressed when we went to the pool side bar and Diane at the Mist Bar our favorite bartender from last visit greeted us by name and remembered what each of us liked to drink. Britania also at the Mist Bar is extremely knowledgeable on her drinks and both were so friendly and helpful with any thing we asked.  

We participated in many activities while on the property and even won a couple of them.  I highly suggest if you are looking for a wonderful place to stay with or without children this is a fun filled place.  Everyone in the activities center was friendly, helpful and had a positive up beat personality. We learned how to make margaritas from Rochelle and she made the rainy day cheerful and fun.  She was also the bingo number caller and had everyone laughing and having fun.  Andre is very talented with his trivia and even stumped us on one or two questions. If you get a chance enter the Iron Chef competition or at least go out and judge.  

We had portraits taken while visiting this time and I am usually the type of person who does not like my pictures nor am I willing to pay for photos that are not of excellent quality.  I not only was thrilled with our photos I purchased the largest package and could not wait to get home and put them up.  If you get the chance go and have your photo taken.  You get a free 5x7 even if you don't want the other ones... but I am sure you will.  

We did eat on property a few times, we had nachos at the Mist Bar they were very good and a half order was enough for two people.  We had pizza poolside one day and it was very fresh and very tasty.  My favorite meal there was at the Grille.  My steak was cooked to perfection.  The vegetables were perfect. The best thing there though was the Creme Brulee.  I have never had such fresh tasting perfectly made Creme Brulee in all my travels.

Needless to say I was thrilled with my visit and I plan to visit again every year if possible.

This "suite" wasn't what I expected.  This is when I learned there's a difference between suite and 1 bedroom suite...The room I stayed in was pretty small studio suite where there's a kitchenette and microwave. Better than a normal room, but not enough for people to drop the extra money on it. One thing that really annoyed me here was that the TV didn't work properly. Every time we turn it on, we need to shake it for the picture to come in. Not kidding. I turn on the TV, go to is, grab the top and start wiggling it, then watch for 30 minutes, repeat.  

For laundry, we need to walk to the pool area to use the machines. Now normally, I don't care, but because it's in the pool area, it follows pool hours. We came home from the park around 11pm and wanted to do a load of clothes, when I went to pick up the clothes, the gate locked. I had to call and get security to open for me just to get my clothes. You might ask, "why do it so late?"  But when you spend day after day at parks from open to close, you don't have time during the day to do laundry.

Besides the TV functionality and the laundry room, I have another issue with toiletries. I've stayed at other hotels where I forget to pack a razor for shaving, the front desk would give me one. sometimes, there's even one in the room! Not here. Nope. Have top go out and buy. For a place with "Grand" in the name, it's not very grand.

Marriott called me, called me, to try to sell me membership. They offered me a low cost package and I booked, under the condition I sit through a sales pitch. Okay. Problem is, they are treating us like we bought a low cost package. First room they gave us stunk of smoking. I went back and after the girl went back into the back office, she said they would move us, which was great because the room was also so small, I needed to go outside to change my mind. Now, they wouldn't give us the keys to the new room, they had to send a bellman. After an hour, and another call to the desk, the bellman arrived and helped us move to an exact copy of the first room only further into the back of the property. At least it didn't smell, but now a 20 minute walk to the pool, restaurant or bar. But I guess that's okay, because the bar closes at 9PM. On vacation, and lights out at 9PM.

So, they want to sell me membership, but the rooms are tiny, there are not enough outlets to plug in electronics, closet so small a 29" luggage won't fit, tiny bathroom with bathtubs not big enough for bath, room doors don't have auto closers (be careful), a room with a view means no wall and the place goes lights out at 9. Stay at regular Marriott property or better yet, signature property!

First, I will say I'm probably not the type of guest places like this were built for and I was not here on a leisure trip. I was in a studio for four nights and I did have some work I needed to get done my first day there, again not what this place is designed for.

There isn't really anyplace to sit and get something done other than a small round table. I'm not even sure how a small family would manage to eat at it and there were only two chairs. The rest of the room is nicely furnished with a small fridge and microwave.

The wifi around the resort works well just about everywhere and is fast. The location, maybe because it is a little isolated, has terrible cell reception. I would have to go out of my unit to get two bars signal with AT&T.

There isn't any room service at the resort other than Pizza delivery in the evenings. I had to walk all the way to the pool bar in the main building to order and haul it back to my room. When I mentioned this to one of the staff, they mentioned a few restaurants in the area deliver, but couldn't provide me any more info. It would be nice if Marriott could provide this info, but I'm sure they prefer you eat in one of their restaurants or buy something from their market.

It's a huge complex and there are plenty of activities to keep parents and kids occupied. At other Marriott Vacation properties they usually placed a schedule for the following day in your room. Here I had to go to the Concierge Desk in the main building, which usually involved multiple offers to book me an activity.

Fortunately, we had an early morning departure or their 10am checkout policy would have been a pain. I'm not sure how a family with small kids would get everyone moving and out by 10.

I have one more gripe with Marriott Vacation properties as a whole and once again I realize I'm not an owner or their target market. I'm a long time Marriott Rewards Platinum member and other than my bonus points at check in, it doesn't seem to buy me anything special at their resorts. Which is why unless someone else has picked the location already I'll usually choose to stay at another Marriott property or somewhere else.

Typical Marriott furnishings and accommodations.   However, this particular timeshare is running only so-so.  

From delays at check-in to having construction workers in a lift that emitted loud beeps for hours on a Saturday morning, to several different people knocking on the door before checkout time  (to see if we were really checking out - as though we might surprise them and ask to stay another day????)    - lots of little annoying things.  

As an owner of multiple Marriott timeshares for over ten years, I found this little vacation less than peaceful.  Would NOT recommend staying here.  

Note to management - you seem to be hiring the youngest and most inexperienced staff I have ever seen at a Marriott location.   I am extremely disappointed.   I suggest you start paying $1 more per hour in each position you fill and get a better, smarter, more experienced staff member.

We were pleased with our stay here from arrival to departure. It's a beautiful resort and they have plenty activities for the entire family.

Our 1-bedroom villa (in building 96 on the 6th floor) was spacious, modern & had a beautiful view of the golf course. Upon arrival we had to call to have our phone serviced & a huge gap under the door filled but they responded immediately.

They also supplied us with a play-n-pack & a high chair for our baby.

We can't wait to go back, hopefully for a longer stay.

This location is known for its spa. The masseuses here are amazing. This location has an amazing spa where I got my first massage at. The facility is clean and it has all the equipment for the spa.  When you get your massage they also incorporate aromatherapy and a customize experience to make sure you leave relaxed. The staff made sure to let us know everything that was available during our stay there and all the amenities that were included.  The massage was amazing. They made sure to focus on the areas that I had asked and to make sure that all times I was comfortable. The massage was truly customize just how this resort is known for its spa.  If you go here I recommend going to the spa is a complete experience with knowledgeable staff and I can't wait to get my next massage.

Every summer and the occasional tough winter as we've been recently experiencing, some of the immediate family flies down to Orlando for some well needed vacation time. Being owners of a few Marriott time shares, I've become quite farmiliar with what your money gets you as it is deeded property, so monthly maintenance payments are part of the deal.

All new couches and beds are installed almost every year which on some level, allows me to sleep better at.night. Depending on how many guests you have spending a few nights, the lock off system is a really helpful concept. I can have up to three one bedrooms or a variation of, all connected where guests can all gather together for meals in, or easily get prepared for dinner out.

Daily events are always a hit, creative and inclusive for Marriott owners. The grounds layout offers many hot tubs, pools and places to lunch, shoot pool or play the 9 hole Faldo course. The workers service your every need as well as they do in an expensive vacation getaway.

With Disney, Sea World and so many other attractions within a mile, I feel the investment of around twenty thousand is worth the price. The ownership will transfer down one day as with regular property and I can offer my time at Orlando for time at another Marriott, anywhere they have a location. Hawaii, Montreal, Rome, Marriott is seemingly everywhere.

This validates the purchase price in my thinking as theres no costs for the rooms anymore.

We are MVC members. We have stayed in a LOT of MVC properties. This one is so so.

2 BR villas are nice, spacious and clean. Bath jets don't work. Very poorly stocked kitchen.

Staff are friendly and service oriented.

Nice gym.

Pool was nice. Nothing special. Pool furnishings in good repair.

Furniture in villas old and outdated. Our couch was shot. Dipped majorly in the middle.  Bed was comfy. Not much storage space for clothes.

I was particularly impressed when my son was bitten by what appeared to be a spider. We had one of the staff medical team take a look at it to make sure it wasn't anything serious. The young man was very kind and helpful. Very caring and attentive. I was very impressed with this.

A few activities for children, however, they require reservations and you have to pay an additional fee that is not cheap per child. In the past when we have stayed at MVC properties there have been tons of activities for children and the majority of them complimentary. This was a real downer for our kids this year. Last year we stayed in Hawaii twice at two separate locations (Kauai and Oahu). They both had a large plethora of children's activities and maybe only one of the activities each day required a cost. Here everything costs extra. Even the little paddle boats cost more.... $30 an hour plus!!

In conclusion it's a place u go to when u are going to Disney. Not a place to go to on its own. Found ourselves rather bored. Family friendly resort. Probably wouldn't come back though because of the costs to entertain our children at the resort.

Great spot.  Was there for 5 days in May for Biz/Pleasure.  For the price, we paid $139/ nt for at studio, it was perfect.  Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, great entertainment at the pools.  This is a timeshare resort however there are daily rate room always available.  Because it is a timeshare resort they set up for, and expect, guests to pack in their own food and drink.  Was so nice to be able to lounge by the pool with a cooler of our own drinks and snacks.  We didn't have our kids with us but a would absolutely bring them to this resort.  We had breakfast every day at The Grill and it was wonderful.  Michelle, our server took care of us every day and was wonderful.  

Looking forward to returning next year.
